Hayes chips in from bench: Kings center Chuck Hayes got some early playing time on Thursday night against the Thunder after DeMarcus Cousins picked up three quick fouls. Hayes scored eight points in his 18 minutes of action. He would shoot 4 for 6 from the field. Hayes chipped in two boards and an assist in his team's 106-101 victory. (Updated 02/10/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Hayes has been banged up this year and continues to deal with a sore shoulder. Over his last five games he's averaging just 2.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. Hayes broke out last year in Houston and displayed his rebounding ability. But so far in Sacramento he just hasn't been able to get going. Fantasy owners should keep him reserved until he starts carving out more meaningful minutes and starts posting better numbers. (Updated 02/10/2012).

02/02/2012 10:14 Courtside Seat: Do the Knicks have a point?
The Knicks back court has been inconsistent so far and with Baron Davis close to returning, the picture is murky. Our Jamey Eisenberg breaks down the Knicks going forward and much more from his Courtside Seat.
With Yao Ming retired, Chuck Hayes remains the team's top option at center. While most of the offensive touches inside should continue to go through Luis Scola, Hayes should scrape together about 8-10 points on most nights due to his 30 minutes or so of playing time. That type of run allowed him to average a career-high eight boards per game last season to go with nearly a block per game. Count on him as a reliable third option at center to be taken late in drafts as a backup option. Barring any significant changes under the team's new coaching staff, Hayes should be in position for similar production. (Updated 8/28/11)
