Preseason Outlook

Wallace still open to playing: Despite acknowledging that last season was his final NBA campaign, former Detroit forward Ben Wallace indicated he would be willing to return if an opportunity arose. Wallace spent 16 seasons in the league and posted an average of 9.6 rebounds per game. "I'm not retired," he told the Detroit News. "It's a good chance I'll be playing again. Nobody wants to file those (retirement) papers, that's a hassle." (Updated 12/10/12)

Wallace, who turned 38 last September, mentioned Rasheed Wallace as an effective contributor for the Knicks and said he could play in the same role. "I can still do some things on the floor. I'm 'retired', not dead. ... No I'm not retired," he said. Unfortunately, Ben Wallace is clearly past his prime when he averaged double-digits in rebounds every season from 2000-07. He should still be left untouched in all Fantasy formats. (Updated 12/10/12).
