Bulls waive three to clear salary cap space

(7/15/2014) The Bulls waived forwards Ronnie Brewer and Lou Amundson, along with guard Mike James Tuesday, ESPN.com reports. All three players had unguaranteed deals for the 2014-15 season, and are now free agents.

(4/7/2014) The Bulls have signed guard Ronnie Brewer for the remainder of the season, the team announced. Brewer, who previously spent two seasons with the Bulls, averaged 6.9 minutes per game in 23 appearances for the Rockets this season.

(2/21/2014) The Rockets have waived guard Ronnie Brewer and signed guard Troy Daniels, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Brewer has made just three appearances in the past month, playing a total of 10 minutes. Daniels has averaged 23.3 points and 36.5 minutes over 32 games while shooting 42.4 percent for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the D-League.

Brewer was reportedly available to play Tuesday after missing his previous three games with calf soreness, but he did not see any action. Smith missed his ninth straight game with knee soreness, though he was able to practice Monday.

Guard Isaiah Canaan and forwards Robert Covington and Ronnie Brewer each appeared for the final minute of a 114-104 win, with Canaan scoring the only two points among the three. Covington was making his first career NBA appearance.

Brewer has played just 16 minutes in four games this season, attempting no shots and missing both free throws.
