News: While Jazz guard Randy Foye struggled with his overall production this season, he remained a steady force from behind the arc. Foye set career highs in attempts (434) and makes (178) from downtown this season as he was asked to spend most of his time on the court lurking behind the 3-point line. However, Foye insists he is more than just a 3-point specialist. Im not just a 3-point shooter, but thats one of my strengths, Foye told the Salt Lake Tribune I felt as though thats what (the Jazz) needed, and I tried to help them get there.
Analysis: While Foye has always been considered a decent 3-point shooter, he was especially productive from behind the arc this year. In fact, the 29-year-old averaged a career-best 2.2 made treys per game and his 178 total makes on the year were a franchise record. However, Foye didn't bring much else to the table other than his 3-point shooting this season. He averaged just 16.3 Fantasy points per week in all standard formats and is slated to be an unrestricted free agent over the summer. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on where Foye lands. Still, only owners in deeper Rotisserie formats should plan on targeting the Foye in the later rounds of draft formats next fall.

Foye is inconsistent, but can be a useful Fantasy option in deeper formats when he gets going.

Analysis: Foye had been mired in an awful shooting slump pretty much since the end of February, but has started to show some signs of snapping out of it lately. In fact, Foye has made at 50 percent of his shots in four of his last five contests and he is averaging 10 points over that span. Foye's biggest asset for Fantasy owners continued to be his ability to knock down 3s and he has knocked down 12 of them over his last seven games. While Foye's inconsistent production continued to limit his value, his ability to knock down 3s continues to make him relevant in deeper category-based formats.
News: Jazz guard Randy Foye continued to struggle with his offense Wednesday against the Rockets. He shot just 3 of 10 from the field, finishing with seven points in 28 minutes. Foye added just two rebounds and one steal in the game, a 100-93 loss.
Analysis: Foye is struggling through an atrocious shooting stretch in the month of March, as he has connected on just 26.7 percent of his shots through 10 games. Foye gives you very little besides his scoring, so when his shot is off, he provides very little value. At this point, he should be considered just a low-end Fantasy option.
News: Jazz guard Randy Foye's shooting woes continues during Monday's contest against the Pistons. Analysis: Foye can't seem to buy a bucket right now as he has tanked out over the past few games. The 29-year-old has made just seven of his last 36 field-goal attempts (19 percent) and is averaging just 3.8 points over his last five games. He has also seen his minutes cut a bit since Mo Williams' return to the lineup, so owners may want to leave him stashed until he snaps out of his current funk.

He went 2 for 5 from downtown and made his lone free throw while playing 22 minutes. Foye also posted a rebound, an assist and a steal in the defeat. Foye also posted two rebounds, an assist and a steal in the victory.
Analysis: Foye has made 125 attempts from downtown thus far and is three away from setting a new career mark. He has seen a slight increase in scoring in his first season in Utah but continues to do little in other categories. The 29-year-old is valuable in Fantasy for his ability to score and remains more of a low-end option at this point.

Foye left the 109-94 win in the first quarter after taking a knee to his right quad. However, he was quickly able to return to the contest and finish with 11 points and two assists on 4 of 10 shooting from the field.
Analysis: Foye was able to shake off his injury Tuesday night, but Fantasy owners aren't out of the woods yet. With Utah scheduled to play again Wednesday night, there is a chance the team decides to hold him out as a precaution. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status leading up to tipoff. Foye is shooting a career-best 43 percent from downtown thus far, which gives him some appeal in deeper mixed formats when healthy.
News: Jazz guard Randy Foye led his team in scoring for the second straight contest on Monday night against the Kings. He finished with 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting in the 98-91 win. He went 3 for 5 from beyond the arc and made 5 of 6 free throws while playing 36 minutes. Foye also posted six assists in the victory.
Analysis: Foye struggled with his shot last week but has found it again and has picked up his scoring. He is averaging 16.6 points with 4.4 assists in the previous five games and is shooting 39 percent from downtown and 38 percent overall during that stretch. Foye is having a career campaign from the 3-point line and is on pace for a bounce-back year. Since he doesn't do much else besides scoring, keep the 29-year-old active in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Jazz guard Randy Foye entered Wednesday's game against the Hornets averaging just 1.9 assists on the year. Foye has been known as a streaky shooter for much of his career but based on his ability to score and shooting percentage, keep the 29-year-old active in deeper Fantasy leagues, especially Rotisserie formats.

Owners know that the 29-year-old can be a streaky shooter so keep an eye on his progress going forward. Foye is playing well enough to remain active in deeper Fantasy formats at this point.
News: Jazz guard Randy Foye turned in one of his best scoring performances of the season Friday night against the Hawks. Foye exploded in the first half, scoring 18 points, and finished with a team-high 25 points, including draining six 3-pointers in a 103-95 defeat. He went 8 of 12 shooting from the field, including 6 of 7 from downtown, and converted 3 of 4 free throw attempts on the night. He also chipped in with two assists and two steals while logging a season-high 41 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Foye has been held to single-digit scoring in three of his last five games, so it was nice to him step up like this Friday night against the Hawks. The 29-year-old has the ability of scoring in a hurry, but is not know to fill up the stat sheet in other categories. He is averaging just 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 rebounds over his last six games. With Mo Williams sidelined, the Jazz are hoping to see some production out Foye, so consider him a low-end Fantasy option heading into Week 12 (Jan. 14-20).
News: Jazz guard Randy Foye had trouble getting his shot to fall Saturday against the Nuggets, as he scored just eight points in 26 minutes. He shot 2 for 9 from the field, and added a 1-for-5 mark from three-point range as well. Foye added three rebounds and two assists, while turning the ball over three times, in a 110-91 loss.
Analysis: Foye can score a lot of points in a hurry, but he also has a tendency to take bad shots and hijack the offense, which hurts his efficiency. He is averaging 12.6 points over the last five games, however that included two single-digit scoring games and one in which he dropped 28. Foye is now shooting below 40.0 percent on the season, and should be considered just a low-end Fantasy option.
News: After averaging just 6.5 points over the previous six games, Jazz guard Randy Foye put his shooting woes behind him on Friday night against the Clippers. Foye also chipped in with five rebounds, an assist and a block in the defeat.
Analysis: Foye has been inconsistent with his scoring so far this season but showed Friday what he can do when he gets hot. Still, he is averaging just 11 points in the last five games so keep an eye on his progress going forward to see if he can get going. With Mo Williams out, the Jazz are hoping 29-year-old can help pick up the slack but Foye remains more of a low-end option in Fantasy at this point.
News: Jazz guard Randy Foyes recent cold spell continued Friday, as he needed 13 shots to score 10 points against the Suns. Foye shot just 3 for 13 from the field in the game and 1 for 4 from three-point range, while playing 32 minutes in a 99-84 loss. Foye added just two rebounds, one assist, two steals and a turnover in the loss.
Analysis: Foye is shooting just 33.3 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from three-point range over the last five games, leaving him with just 9.2 points per game on 10.2 shots. Foye is the type of player who can provide a boost with his scoring when he is hot, but is rather useless as a Fantasy option when the shot isnt falling. This is a situation where we are experiencing far more of the latter from him, so Fantasy owners should consider Foye just a low-end option moving forward.
News: Jazz guard Randy Foye has been unable to figure out his struggles with consistency, even since returning to the starting lineup two weeks ago. Foye shot just 3 of 8 from the field Wednesday against the Hornets, scoring just seven points in 25 minutes. He shot just 1 of 3 from three-point range, his worst long-range performance since going 0 for 4 Nov. 10 with at least three attempts, according to the Deseret News. Foye added one rebound, one assists, one steal and one turnover, in a 96-84 win.
Analysis: Foye has scored in double figures in three of his six games in the starting lineup, though he has been red-hot from three-point range in that time. Foye is averaging 9.8 points per game while connecting on 44.8 percent from three-point range. Foye gives you little besides his ability to hit three pointers and score, so Fantasy owners will want to leave him for just deeper category-based formats moving forward.
News: Utah guard Randy Foye had a nice game on Monday as the Jazz needed three overtimes to beat the Raptors in Toronto. Foye saw 37 minutes thanks to the extra periods and scored 20 points to lead his team in bench scoring. Foye shot 4 for 7 from the field and went 4 for 6 from 3-point range. He also went 8 of 9 from the line and added four assists.
Analysis: Foye had a nice start to the season for Utah but has since been inconsistent with his shot. That is how we've come to know Foye as a Fantasy option. He has been hard to trust for some time now and will continue to tease with games like Monday's. Still, he's really only worth keeping active in very deep Fantasy formats.
News: Utah guard Randy Foye grabbed hold of the scoring reins on Friday night in New Orleans. Foye tried to will his team to victory in the loss as he dropped a team-high 20 points over 27 minutes off the bench. He nailed four 3-pointers in the losing effort and added four rebounds, two blocks and an assist.
Analysis: Foye has scored 33 points combined in his first two games of the season with six 3-pointers. We all know that Foye is going to shoot a lot when on the court. Right now he's making them and it looks very pretty. He can just as easily go ice cold, however, so Fantasy owners should temper expectations after this mini hot streak.
News: Free agent guard Randy Foye signed a one-year contract with the Jazz, reportedy worth $2.5 million. Foye averaged 11.0 points per game last year for the Clippers.
Analysis: The Jazz are a team that is in need of some perimeter scoring, and if there is one thing Foye brings to the table, that is it. The 28-year-old has scored in double figures in five of his six seasons in the NBA and has developed into a reliable three-point shooter, making him a decent low-end Fantasy option for the later rounds on Draft Day, especially in Rotisserie formats.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye made a career-high eight 3-pointers during Monday night's contest against the Mavericks. Foye, who is shooting 36 percent from behind the arc on the season, finished 8 for 15 from downtown in the 94-75 win , en route to 28 points. He also added three rebounds and two steals to his stat line, while logging 35 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Foye has been red-hot for the Clippers of late as he is now averaging 15.8 points over his last five contests. He is shooting 45 percent from the field over that stretch and continues to see around 25-30 minutes on a nightly basis as a starter. As long as he continues to produce, owners should leave the 28-year-old active in deeper formats for the final few weeks of the season.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye has played well in back-to-back games after dropping 17 points on the Jazz on Saturday. Foye shot 5 of 12 from the field over 33 minutes in that game as he hit three 3-pointers. He added six assists. Foye scored 20 points the game prior as he nailed five 3-pointers and added four dimes.
Analysis: Foye has scored at least 17 points in three of his last five games and is averaging 13.8 PPG over that span as he appears to be heating up. Foye has hit 2.8 3-pointers per game over that stretch with 2.8 assists and some solid shooting for a guard. Foye is playing well right now and, as such, should be used in a larger amount of deeper Fantasy formats. Fantasy owners in the playoffs who lost Jeremy Lin recently could turn to Foye for help.
News: Looking to shake the lineup up and get the team back on a winning track, the Clippers moved guard Randy Foye back into the starting lineup on Saturday, and he responded with a solid 18-point performance in 30 minutes in the teams 101-85 win over the Grizzlies. Foye shot 5 of 11 from the field, with four his makes coming from three-point range, while also adding three rebounds and one steal, assist and block each.
Analysis: Foye remains maddeningly inconsistent, as he has now scored 23, three and 18 points over the last three games and that doesnt include a DNP Coachs decision before that three-game stretch. Foye remains unafraid to take plenty of shots no matter what role he is in, however he is averaging just 9.3 points per game on 38.4 percent shooting on the year, so consider him just a low-end Fantasy option in all formats.
News: With newly acquired guard Nick Young earning the start on Tuesday night against the Pacers, Randy Foye was moved back to the bench. Foye, who had started the last 21 games at shooting guard did not appear in the 102-89 loss, earning a DNP-coach's decision.
Analysis: The writing was on the wall for Foye once Young was acquired at the trade deadline and as expected it came to fruition on Tuesday night. The 28-year-old will likely have a hard time finding consistent minutes in the near future, which kills his Fantasy value. Fantasy owners may want to seriously think about cutting ties with Foye at this point in the season.
News: The Clippers made a surprise, last-minute acquisition on Thursday prior to the trade deadline, acquiring guard Nick Young from the Wizards. That made guard Randy Foyes two-point showing on Thursday night come at an even worse time, as the Clippers are likely to move Young, a more natural fit next to Chris Paul into the starting lineup in place of Foyes inconsistent production.
Analysis: Foye has had flashes of being a productive player, however his playing time and production have taken a hit in recent games, as he has scored just 10 points total over the last three. At this point, it seems likely that Foye will be removed from the starting lineup and back into a reserve role, which should just about remove whatever is left of his low-end Fantasy value.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye managed just one bucket during Monday's loss to the Celtics. Foye went 1 of 4 from the field for three points. Three of his shot attempts were from beyond the arc. It was the third time in eight March games Foye was held to five points or less. He is still averaging a season-high 12.0 points per game this month.
Analysis: Foye has become a three-point specialist for Los Angeles, so if he isn't hitting from distance, then he is having a quiet game. However, his scoring has picked up since the team lost Chauncey Billups for the season. Foye averaged 10.1 points per game in February and is now having his best scoring month of the season. He doesn't fill the stat sheet on a nightly basis, so Foye remains more of a low-end Fantasy starter.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye tied Wednesday's game versus the Nets at 98 with a 3-point play with 38.2 seconds to go -- or so it looked. After review it was determined his toe was on the line and it was considered a two-pointer, but he still hit a foul shot to tie the game. Foye would finish with a season-high 24 points for the Clippers, but it wouldn't be enough as the Nets pulled off the 101-100 victory. Foye shot 8 for 18 from the field, going 5 for 10 from downtown. He also hit all three of his freebies at the charity stripe. Foye contributed a rebound, a steal and two assists in his 35 minutes of action.
Analysis: Foye has always been a solid shooter from long range and this year is no different. He's hitting 44.4 percent of his attempts from beyond the 3-point arc over his last five games, while averaging 12.4 points. He's also contributing 2.0 assists and 2.4 boards per contest over that stretch. While he's not a high-end guard option, Foye can post a big game every once and a while, which is why he holds value in deeper formats. Continue to view him as a decent guard option in deeper Fantasy leagues the remainder of the year.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye was able to get himself back on track during Sunday night's contest against the Spurs. Foye finished with 15 points in the 105-103 overtime win, on 6 of 7 shooting from the field. He went 3 of 4 from downtown and also added one assist and one rebound to his stat line, while logging 24 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Foye scored just two points in his last contest so it was nice to see him bounce back on Sunday night. The 28-year-old continues to start for the Clippers and has turned himself into a pretty consistent double-digit scorer. He has now scored in double figures in seven of his last 11 contests and is averaging 10.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists over that stretch. While Chris Paul, Blake Griffin,Caron Butler and Mo Williams are asked to do most of the scoring for Los Angeles, Foye's recent production has been good enough to use him in deeper formats. Continue to view him as such heading into Fantasy Week 11 (March 5-11).
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye played a solid all-around ballgame on Tuesday night in an loss against Minnesota. Foye started the second half of the season in the starting lineup as he shot 6 of 14 from the field to score 13 points. Foye hit a 3-pointer and added three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Analysis: Foye played well Tuesday as the Clippers got less-than-stellar efforts from Caron Butler and Mo Williams. Foye has been starting and he'll definitely see plenty of minutes going forward. He is usually good to score in double figures not that he's seeing around 30 minutes per game. Fantasy owners can use Foye in deeper formats.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye finished the first half of the 2011-12 season by pouring in 11 points Wednesday against the Nuggets. He went 3 of 11 from the field, including 3 of 8 from 3-point range. He added four rebounds and three assists. Foye is averaging a season-high 9.9 points in February.
Analysis: Foye has been asked to take on a bigger role now that Chauncey Billups is done for the season and seems to be taking to it. He has scored in double figures in seven of his last nine games. He has taken 10-plus shots in his last four games and is firing away from 3-point range. Foye, however, isn't being asked to carry the team, so he probably won't post monster numbers on a nightly basis. He still remains more of a low-end Fantasy option.
News: On the day that Chauncey Billups underwent surgery in Colorado to repair a torn left Achilles that ended his season, Randy Foye demonstrated why the Los Angeles Clippers have the confidence to start him at shooting guard. Foye scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter against his former team, leading the Clippers to a 102-84 victory against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. "Foye was outstanding, and we're going to need that from him," point guard Chris Paul said. "Tonight he hit some very timely 3s that gave us some separation. I've known him for years and I used to play against him when he was in Minnesota. Foye was one of those guys who used to give us fits because he's such a good player. I think at times, he's better than he thinks he is. He can handle the ball, he's big and strong and athletic, and he can shoot it. So we just need him to keep getting his confidence."
Analysis: Coming off a 96-92 loss at Dallas in which Foye 0 for 7 from the field, the Clippers took an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter before John Wall cut it to 75-72 on a 16-footer with 10:12 remaining. But Foye completely took during the next 3 1/2 minutes, after missing all four shots in 26 minutes over the first three quarters. "I didn't shoot too well in Dallas, and I was upset with myself. So I got here early and took some shots trying to get myself going. I didn't shoot too well early on, but once I hit a shot, I felt good," he said. Foye has scored in double figures in four of his last five games, but he doesn't have more than 15 points in any of those games. His Fantasy value has increased with Billups out, but he still remains a low-end option.
News: Clippers G Randy Foye scored 12 points during Los Angeles' 111-86 victory over Charlotte on Saturday night. Foye connected on 5 of 7 attempts, including 2 of 4 from 3-point range, to finish in double digits for the third consecutive game -- matching a season high. During that three-game span, Foye has totaled 37 points while averaging 27 minutes in the starting lineup. He also added two rebounds and two assists for the Clippers.
Analysis: Foye has taken advantage of Chauncey Billups' season-ending injury and shined since being inserted into the starting lineup. The 28-year-old has logged at least 27 minutes in each of his past three minutes and should continue to receive close to 30 minutes going forward. Most of his shots come from downtown and he is averaging 35.5 percent behind the arc this season. Consider Foye a quality addition in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye made his first start since Chauncey Billups got injured on Wednesday night in a loss to Cleveland. Foye played 27 minutes in the game and shot 5 of 11 from the field to score 15 points. Foye hit three 3-pointers in six attempts and added two assists and a steal.
Analysis: Foye saw a few extra minutes than usual on Wednesday but otherwise had an ordinary game for the veteran out of Villanova. Foye's Fantasy value rises only slightly with Billups out.
News: The Clippers are expected to start guard Randy Foye at shooting guard going forward in place of injured guard Chauncey Billups, reports ESPN.com on Tuesday. Billups will miss the remainder of the season with a torn Achilles' and Foye should move into the starting lineup with Mo Williams continuing to come off the bench. Foye has already seen six starts this season.
Analysis: Foye played just seven minutes on Monday at Orlando and failed to score on 0 for 3 from the field. He scored 17 points last Thursday in 28 minutes against Denver, but is averaging just 7.3 points per game on the season. That should rise, but how much is the key. Foye is likely to remain just a low-end Fantasy option even with his move to the starting lineup.
News: Clippers G Randy Foye led all reserves with 17 points during Los Angeles' 112-91 loss to Denver on Thursday night. Foye made 7 of his 11 shots from the field, including 2 of 5 from beyond the 3-point arc, to establish a season high in points. His scoring output also halted a stretch of five consecutive games finishing with single digits. Foye also contributed three rebounds and three steals in 28 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Foye overcame a stretch of recent cold shooting and drained a season-high seven field goals en route to his 63.6 clip against the Nuggets. His scoring continues to take a hit since joining Los Angeles and he is now averaging a career-low 7.7 points per game this season. With the Clippers owning several other scoring options, Foye's production will be inconsistent. Consider him a low-end reserve in deeper Fantasy formats for now.
News: Clippers G Randy Foye was able to score in double figures for the fifth time in his last six games on Sunday against the Raptors. He finished with 15 points and four assists in the 103-91 win. He went 5 for 8 from the floor, including 3 for 4 from downtown, and made both of his free throw attempts. Foye, who played 30 minutes, also chipped in with three rebounds, three blocks and two steals in the victory.
Analysis: Foye has picked up his scoring with Chris Paul out and is averaging 11.2 points with 4.6 assists and two steals in his last five games. He is also shooting 45 percent from beyond the arc over that span. The 28-year-old has shown in the past that he can score when given the minutes but with Paul expected back in Week 5 (Jan. 23-29), his run could be coming to an end. His playing time will take a cut once that happens so continue to view Foye as more of a low-end Fantasy G at this point.
News: In the absence of Chris Paul, who is out nursing a hamstring injury, Clippers G Randy Foye received his second start of the season on Monday and took advantage, putting up his first double-double since February of 2010 in a 13-point, 10-assist performance as the Clippers beat the Nets 101-91. Foyes points did not come efficiently as he made just six-of-17 from the field, and he did have five turnovers in his 41 minutes, but he did enough to keep the Clippers offense moving in the place of their star point guard. He added three rebounds, a steal and two blocks in the game, and looks to be a somewhat decent stopgap with Paul out.
Analysis: The Clippers have enough offensive weapons to make almost any point guard look good if Paul has to sit. Thats not the say that Foye is even in Chris Pauls stratosphere, just that if Paul is to be out for a significant amount of time, Foye may be a decent stop-gap option for Fantasy owners. At the very least, hes shown hes not afraid to let it fly when he gets playing time, as hes attempted 28 shots in his last two games. Continue to monitor Pauls progress, but if he has a setback and Foye continues to see starters minutes, he might not be a bad pick up until Paul is ready to return.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye came alive in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's contest against the Rockets. With his team in control Foye scored 16 points in 19 minutes of action, most of that coming in the last quarter. He shot 6 for 8 from the field, hitting his lone 3-point attempt, and nailing 3 of his 4 foul shots. Foye added one board, three assists and a steal in the Clippers' 117-89 win.
Analysis: In his first four games of the season Foye scored a total of 19 points, so his role off the bench doesn't allow him to post solid numbers. Foye is coming off a career-worst year in terms of scoring, as his per-game average fell to 9.8. While he can score in double digits, Foye won't be doing so consistently enough to warrant much Fantasy attention. Owners should continue to view him as a reserve option in deeper formats.
News: Clippers G Randy Foye missed all six of his shot attempts in the Clippers preseason closing victory over the Lakers. He scored just two points, both on free throws, while recording four assists in 21 minutes as the Clippers won 108-103.
Analysis: Foye is coming off a career-worst year in terms of scoring, as his per-game average fell to 9.8. He is likely to be the primary backup to Chauncey Billups at the shooting guard slot, but its hard to see him getting enough opportunities to get back to the double-digit scoring numbers of his past. Owners that play in deeper Fantasy leagues should view Foye as a late-round reserve option on Draft Day, but all other owners should ignore him unless a full-time spot opens up for him in Los Angeles.
News: In his first year with the Clippers, guard Randy Foye had some ups and downs en route to his worst statistical season as a professional. He would start 24 and come off the bench for 39 games for Los Angeles as they dealt with some injuries in the backcourt. Both Baron Davis and Eric Gordon dealt with a variety of dings through the year, giving Foye some golden opportunities. When he started he saw twice as many minutes and produced a pretty nice statline -- 16.1 points, 4.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.2 rebounds. He also shot 34.6 percent from downtown, 94.4 percent at the foul line and 41.4 percent from the field over those contests. Foye played in just 14 games in the first 2 1/2 months of the season as he was plagued with a left hamstring injury.
Analysis: Since his last year in Minnesota back in 2008-09 when he averaged a career-high 16.3 points per outing, Foye's numbers have decreased each season. The reason for this decrease isn't that Foye isn't a good player, but because he got just 17 minutes per game this year. The bottom line is he's the sixth or seventh player on his team and just doesn't get an opportunity to shine. After the Clippers traded Davis to Cleveland, they got Mo Williams in return. Foye, a combo guard, will only get starts next year if Gordon or Williams gets injured. While it is difficult to play in every game in the NBA, Foye may get a few chances to produce quality numbers. He has proven he can score, but until he gets more than 20 minutes a game on a regular basis, he won't hold too much Fantasy value. Owners that play in deeper leagues should view Foye as a late-round reserve option on Draft Day.
News: With the return to Eric Gordon, Clippers guard Randy Foye returned to the bench on Saturday against the Cavaliers. Foye scored just four points, dished out six assists and grabbed four rebounds in his 30 minutes of action. The Clippers went on to win the game, 100-92. Foye went 1 for 4 from the floor and nailed his only foul shot. He also added two steals.
Analysis: Foye still got plenty of minutes on Saturday, but his shot selection dropped drastically with Gordon back. Foye has been a nice stopgap for Fantasy owners, but with his return to the bench his value goes down. Unless there is another injury in the Clippers backcourt, Foye will only be worth using in the deeper category-based formats.
News: Clippers guard Eric Gordon (wrist) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Sixers, reports the Los Angeles Times. Gordon has missed five straight games since re-aggravating his wrist against the Nuggets back on March 5. In his absence, Randy Foye continues to start and has seen a significant role increase.
Analysis: Foye has tailed off a bit of late, scoring under 10 points in three of his last four games. The eventual return of Gordon, however, means that the chances of his repeating games like his 19-point, 7-assist effort from last Friday in New Jersey will virtually disappear. His time as a viable Fantasy stopgap measure could be coming to a close, so continue to monitor the health and progress of Gordon before making any decisions on Foye.
News: Los Angeles Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro is "optimistic" top scorer Eric Gordon will return this season after he aggravated a right wrist injury over the weekend that will keep him out indefinitely. However, Del Negro said before Monday's game against Charlotte to open an East Coast swing that Gordon will likely remain in Los Angeles for the duration of the team's five-game trip. In Gordon's absence, Randy Foye will once again start.
Analysis: Foye averaged over 17 points and four assists per game while hitting multiple 3-pointers per game and shooting the ball about 14 times per contest. Continue to monitor Gordon's status, but it would appear Foye is headed for another surge. Make the most of it while you can, which means at the very least all of Fantasy Week 20 (March 7-13).
News: The Los Angeles Time reports that Eric Gordon was diagnosed with a bone chip fracture in his wrist, the same one he injured in a fall in late January. In his absence, it is likely that Randy Foye will once again see a boost in minutes and production. "It's a good win, but obviously a tough one just because Eric Gordon will be out now," Coach Vinny Del Negro said after Saturday's win over Denver. "He'll stay back here. He's got a bone fracture, a bone chip. Don't ask me the correct [terminology]. The words are too long for me to pronounce. Ask Jasen Powell, ask the medical staff. But he will be out."
Analysis: Del Negro went on to add that he did not know how long Gordon would be out. Gordon added that he did not think it was as bad as when he first hurt the wrist, an injury that sidelined him from Jan. 22 through March 2. During that span, Foye averaged over 17 points and four assists per game while hitting multiple 3-pointers per game and shooting the ball about 14 times per contest. Continue to monitor Gordon's status, but it would appear Foye is headed for another surge.
News: Los Angeles guard Randy Foye filled in for Eric Gordon in the second half on Saturday night against Denver. Gordon hurt his wrist again after a hard foul by Timofey Mozgov, which sidelined him for the remainder of the game. Foye went on to score 13 points on a 4-for-11 shooting display -- showcased by his 3 for 5 effort from downtown. He also chipped in a rebound, an assist and two blocks in his 32 minutes of court time. The Clippers would hold on for the 100-94 win over the Nuggets.
Analysis: Foye, Gordon and the Clippers won't know the extent of the injury or a timetable for Gordon's return until Sunday. If Gordon misses extended time, Foye should see an increase in production. Over his last 10 games he's averaging 35.7 minutes on the court and 17.3 points per contest. He's also chipping in 4.5 assists, 2.1 boards and 1.2 steals over that span. Fantasy owners should monitor this situation closely, as Foye as been a nice stopgap in recent weeks. If he continues to see quality minutes consider him a low-end guard option in deeper formats.
News: The Los Angeles Times reports that Eric Gordon (wrist) is not yet ready to return for the Clippers. The Clippers had thought he might return Monday at Sacramento, but the report notes Gordon is thinking it might be Wednesday against Houston or Saturday at home against Denver. "Right now, I can't even shoot a three-point shot," Gordon said, adding that he can't make mid-range jumpers either. Randy Foye will continue to see a boost in minutes and touches in his absence.
Analysis: Foye notched a game-high 32 points and seven assists in Los Angeles' 99-92 loss to Boston on Saturday night. He has taken on much of the scoring void left by Gordon's absence and has become a solid Fantasy play as a result. It appears he will get one more scoring period -- at least -- of viability, though you should keep in mind that Gordon could return at some point during the week.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye notched a game-high 32 points and seven assists in Los Angeles' 99-92 loss to Boston on Saturday night. Foye recorded a whopping 11 attempts from 3-point range and connected on four. He finished 10 for 20 overall from the field to top 50 percent of his shots for the first time in the last three games. Foye's startling total from 3-point range marked the third time this season he has attempted at least 10 treys, and was only five fewer than the combined total of the other players in the game (16). He chipped in two rebounds and two steals while playing 43 minutes.
Analysis: Foye continues to impress while starting shooting guard Eric Gordon is sidelined with a wrist injury. In his last five games, the fifth-year guard is averaging a solid 20.8 points and included three 20-point performances. His 15.3 points per game average in February has improved his season average to 9.1 ppg. Gordon is likely to return at some point next week, but Foye should continue to receive several minutes as long as he stays hot. Keep an eye on the timeshare as Los Angeles will likely ease Gordon back into the lineup and consider Foye a solid replacement in the meantime.
News: Clippers guard Eric Gordon will not travel with the team on their upcoming two-game trip to Oklahoma City and New Orleans, reports, the Los Angeles Times. Gordon, who has been out since Jan.22 had his injured wrist checked out Monday. Randy Foye will continue to start in his absence.
Analysis: Foye is averaging 17.8 points over his last five games and has been asked to take on much of the scoring void left by Gordon. He should remain viable for at least as long as Gordon remains out, making him at least a decent play for the upcoming scoring period. After that, however, you should not be expecting much out of him. Make the most of it while you can.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye is doing a good job filling in for the injured Eric Gordon. Foye shot 6 for 14 from the floor on Wednesday night in the Clippers 98-90 win over the Timberwolves. He struggled to find the range from deep as he connected on just 2 of his 8 attempts from downtown. He also converted 7 of his 8 foul shots. Foye had been dealing with a wrist injury recently, but it seems he's fine now. He added six assists, three rebounds, a block and a steal in his 35 minutes of action.
Analysis: Foye is averaging 15.3 points, 1.7 steals, 3.4 assists and 2.1 boards per game over his last 10 contests. With Gordon sidelined until after the All-Star break, Foye has done a good job filling in for L.A.'s leading scorer. The break may do Foye good too as he can rest up his wrist for the second half of the year. While Gordon remains out, Foye should be viewed as a low-end guard option in deeper Fantasy formats. Keep tabs on this guard situation once Gordon is healthy enough to return. Foye's role will likely diminish, but he may be carving out more minutes in the long run.
News: Clippers G Randy Foye had to briefly leave Friday's game against the Cavaliers due to a wrist injury, but he returned to have a productive night. He finished with 23 points and four assists in the 126-119 overtime loss. He went 8 for 19 from the field, including 4 for 11 from downtown, and converted 3 of 4 free throws. Foye, who played 45 minutes, also had three steals and a blocked shot in the defeat.
Analysis: Foye appeared to be in pain after hurting his wrist in the fourth quarter but he came back out after going to the locker room and was able to finish the game. He has gotten his scoring up of late and is averaging 15.4 points with 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals over his last five contests. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his progress going forward but he should be able to play Sunday at the Raptors. As long as Eric Gordon is out, Foye will remain a viable low-end option in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Los Angeles guard Randy Foye has been getting more playing time with the Clippers leading scorer -- Eric Gordon -- missing time with a wrist injury. Foye scored 17 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Clippers went on to snap a seven-game losing streak by beating the Knicks,116-108 on Wednesday. He shot 8 for 15 from the field -- going 4 for 7 from downtown -- and converting 4 of his 5 foul shots. Foye added three assists, four rebounds and two steals in his 35 minutes of action. He hurt his shoulder early in the game, but would return to the court and hold off a late New York rally.
Analysis: Foye bounced back after Tuesday's 7-point effort in Orlando. With Gordon out, Foye's been seeing plenty of action, averaging 35 minutes a game over his last five contests. Over that span is tallying 13.6 points, 3.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds. With no timetable for Gordon's return, Foye is seeing his Fantasy value increase. Consider him a decent guard option in deeper formats while Gordon is out of action.
News: The Los Angeles Times reports that the status of Eric Gordon (wrist) did not change after returning to Los Angeles to be re-evaluated. The Clippers announced that there is no return date set for his return. Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro was not sure whether Gordon would rejoin the team on their road trip. In Gordon's absence, Randy Foye has seen an increase in playing time and production.
Analysis: Foye is averaging 36.6 minutes per game over his last five games, scoring 14 or more points in three of those games. He is averaging 12.4 shots per game in that span and has also chipped in nice totals in steals and 3-point shooting. Take advantage of his continued chance to produce in larger formats while it lasts.
News: Clippers SG Randy Foye continued to fill in for the injured Eric Gordon on Sunday against the Heat, but he struggled with his shot, making just 5 of his 16 attempts, including 2 for 8 from downtown. Foye did manage to pick up 15 points in the game, second to only Blake Griffin's 21.
Analysis: Foye had a slow night on Friday, taking only eight shots against the Hawks, but he found some open looks on Sunday. Unfortunately, he couldn't turn them into a whole ton of points thanks to a poor percentage. Still, Foye continues to be a solid start in deeper Fantasy leagues while Gordon is out, and the Clippers play four times in Week 16 (Feb. 7-13).
News: For the third straight game Saturday, Los Angeles guard Randy Foye established a season-high in scoring while starting in place of the injured Eric Gordon (back/wrist). His latest feat came in a win over the Bobcats, when Foye scored 21 points on 6 of 15 shooting, including 4 of 10 from beyond the arc. "I put a lot of pressure on myself to make plays and try to help us, especially now," Foye said. "With Eric out, I'm that guy they go to on the perimeter -- me and Baron kind of split it." He assisted on four baskets and also registered season-highs in steals (four) and blocks (two). Foye even played 40 minutes, the highest amount he's seen all year.
Analysis: Foye has been a pleasant surprise since Gordon suffered the injury. He's established a season-high in points in each of the last three games, and he added steals, blocks and minutes to the trend Saturday. Foye is making the most of his chances to handle the ball along with Baron Davis, and the two have worked well together -- with Foye as the scorer. As long as he keeps playing this well, do not hesitate to sneak him into Fantasy lineups for the next couple of scoring periods with Gordon expected to be out until mid-February.
News: Los Angeles guard Randy Foye scored a season-high 20 points on Wednesday in Houston. It was his second straight start in place of the injured Eric Gordon, who will be out 3-4 weeks with a wrist injury. Foye shot 7 for 17 from the field -- going 2 for 5 from downtown -- and knocked down all four of his foul shots. Foye added one rebound, one assist and one steal in his 33 minutes of action. The Clippers would lose it's fourth straight road game though, as the Rockets went on for the 96-83 win.
Analysis: Foye is being asked to step up right now for the Clippers to fill in for the team's leading scorer. Over his last five games, Foye is averaging 10.8 points and 1.6 assists per outing. His production has gone up in his two starts, so at least that is a good sign. But the bottom line is, Foye has a shelf life of Fantasy relevance right now and that is only until Gordon returns. The majority of Fantasy owners can ignore him as he fills in for the Clippers.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye was productive in his start for the injured Eric Gordon. With Gordon out 3-4 weeks with a wrist injury, Foye could be line for more starts down the road. Foye was efficient with his shot on Tuesday as he went 5 for 9 from the field -- hitting 2 of his 5 3-pointers -- and connecting on all three of his foul shots. Foye finished with 15 points, four assists and one rebound in his 28 minutes of work. The Clippers would fall to the Mavericks on Tuesday, 112-105.
Analysis: While Foye's Fantasy value should go up if he continues to start, he'll only be worth owning in the deepest of formats. Over his last five games he's averaging 7.6 points, 1.4 assists and 1.0 board per contest. Most Fantasy owners can continue to ignore Foye.
News: The L.A. Times reports that Clippers SG Randy Foye will start in place of the injured Eric Gordon, who might miss Wednesday's contest against the Hornets.
Analysis: Foye has taken a lesser role since coming to the Clippers from the Wizards, as his scoring is down to only 4.3 points in 12.9 minutes, but he showed earlier in his career that he can put up points when given the chance. Two years ago with Minnesota, Foye averaged 16.3 points a game. Unfortunately for him, Gordon isn't expected to miss a whole ton of action, so Foye should probably only be looked at in very deep daily Fantasy leagues.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye scored five points in Los Angeles' 108-93 loss at Portland on Thursday night. Foye finished 2 for 7 from the field, including 1 of 4 from 3-point range, as the Clippers had their winning streak stopped at three games.
Analysis: Foye played 23 minutes against the Blazers, the third consecutive game he has logged more than 20 minutes. The fifth-year guard is averaging 20.0 minutes in his last four games -- nearly double his season average of 12.1 -- while receiving more time with backup point guard Eric Bledsoe struggling. Foye missed time earlier in the season with a hamstring injury but could become a part of Los Angeles' rotation on a consistent basis. However, he will remain a non-factor in all Fantasy formats.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye finally returned to action on Wednesday night against Philadelphia. Foye has been out since Nov. 26 with a hamstring strain. Foye played just five minutes and went 1 of 2 from the field for two points.
Analysis: Foye certainly is going to need some time to work himself back into playing shape. For now, his Fantasy value remains extremely low end.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye expects to be in action on Wednesday when Los Angeles plays the Philadelphia 76ers, reports the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday. Foye has been out since Nov. 26 with a hamstring strain.
Analysis: With Foye returning Wednesday, that means he should get a full Fantasy scoring period of action in the upcoming week. Still, he's going to be rusty after missing so much time. For now, Foye shouldn't be active in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye may return before L.A. begins a three-game road trip Wednesday in Philadelphia, reports NBA.com on Saturday. Foye missed Saturday's game against Memphis.
Analysis: With Foye returning Wednesday, that means he should get a full Fantasy scoring period of action in the upcoming week. Still, he's going to be rusty after missing so much time. For now, Foye shouldn't be active in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye (hamstring) missed Wednesday's game against the Lakers. The Lakers game is the sixth straight that Foye has missed for the Clippers.
Analysis: Foye has now missed eight of his last nine games and he barely could do anything with the one game he did see time. The Clippers have moved Eric Bledsoe to the starting lineup with Baron Davis as a backup. Foye is nowhere to be found and is losing Fantasy value by the truck load. Right now he's not worth having in anything but the deepest of formats.
News: The Clippers defeated the Kings on Monday night but guard Randy Foye was nowhere to be found once again. Foye did not get into the game against Sacramento as he missed his fifth straight with a hamstring injury. At this point, there is no telling when Foye will return to action. He is day to day.
Analysis: Foye has now missed seven of his last eight games and he barely could do anything with the one game he did see time. The Clippers have moved Eric Bledsoe to the starting lineup with Baron Davis as a backup. They just defeated the Kings and are beginning to play better with each other -- all without Foye. His value is dropping by the game and, at this point, he's not worth having in anything but the deepest of formats.
News: Los Angeles guard Randy Foye was inactive for a fourth straight game on Sunday. He's been dealing with a hamstring injury and is considered day to day.
Analysis: Foye has missed six of the last seven games for Los Angeles. The game he did play in he lasted just five minutes and scored two points. With Baron Davis and Eric Bledsoe both ahead of him on the depth chart, Foye's Fantasy value continues to plummet. He is not someone to bank on for Week 7 (Dec. 6-12).
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye (hamstring) was ruled inactive for Friday's game against the Nuggets. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: Foye is losing ground with Baron Davis back from his injury and Eric Bledsoe playing well. When he returns, he is looking at possibly being the third point guard on the depth chart. Clearly, he is not a player that Fantasy owners should be putting much stock in.
News: Clippers G Randy Foye (hamstring) remained sidelined for Wednesday's game against the Spurs. He is considered day-to-day by the team.
Analysis: Foye is losing ground with Baron Davis back from his injury and Eric Bledsoe playing well. When he returns, he is looking at possibly being the third point guard on the depth chart. Clearly, he is not a player that Fantasy owners should be putting much stock in.
News: Clippers G Randy Foye was held back on Sunday against the Jazz due to a sore hamstring. He played a combined 10 minutes over his previous two games because of continuing soreness.
Analysis: Foye will be treated as day-to-day going forward. With the Clippers desperate for depth at point guard, this must really be bothering him if they are keeping him out. With Baron Davis expected back shortly, Foye has very limited potential for production ahead of him.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye was scheduled to play between 10 and 15 minutes on Thursday against Sacramento, something coach Vinny Del Negro said before the game. Foye did play, but managed just five minutes of court time. He missed his lone shot from the field (it was a 3-pointer) and dished out one assist. Los Angeles would beat Sacramento 100-82.
Analysis: Foye is a role player on Los Angeles, but that doesn't give him much Fantasy value. Owners should steer clear of him for now as he just doesn't do enough to be a factor in anything but the deepest of leagues. Leave him on waivers in standard leagues.
News: According to the team's official website, Clippers guard Randy Foye should play between 10 and 15 minutes on Thursday against Sacramento. Coach Vinny Del Negro said he's still dealing with a sore hamstring, but should be able to contribute off the bench.
Analysis: Foye is a nice role player for the Clippers, so getting him back will be a nice boost off the bench. But Fantasy owners should steer clear of him. Between injuries and being a backup on the Clippers, doesn't give him much Fantasy appeal. Leave him on waivers in standard leagues, as he's only an option in the deepest of formats.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye (hamstring) could not practice on Wednesday in preparation for L.A's next game on Thursday against the Kings. Foye left Monday's game with a sore hamstring and is questionable for the game against Sacramento.
Analysis: Foye only managed 11 minutes on Monday and was clearly not yet healthy. The Clippers need his services so they could keep him out to make sure he does get healthy again shortly. The way he's played thus far, while dealing with the injuries, makes him not worth using in Fantasy anyway. He does have value for deeper leagues if he could just stay on the court.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye (hamstring) missed Monday's game against the Hornets as his coach Vinny Del Negro ruled that he could not go. Foye is day to day for the Clippers, who will continue to look to Eric Bledsoe as a replacement.
Analysis: Foye played two games, but saw limited action, before missing time again on Monday. He did see his playing time rise in his second game back and could be in for a boost for however long Baron Davis remains out (he could return Thursday), but he is a player to avoid activating for now, especially as he continues to miss more time.
News: The Los Angeles Times reports that Randy Foye (hamstring) missed practice on Sunday. He is considered "questionable" for Monday's game against the Hornets. Foye had been out of action since the second game of the year due to a hamstring injury before returning on Thursday.
Analysis: Davis played two games, but saw limited action. He did see his playing time rise in his second game back and could be in for a boost for however long Baron Davis remains out (he could return Thursday), but he is a player to avoid activating for now.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye had been out of action since the second game of the year due to a hamstring injury. He returned to the court on Thursday against the Pacers, but saw limited action. Foye shot 2 for 6 from the field in his 13 minutes of action, finishing with four points. He added two assists and missed his lone 3-pointer. Coach Vinny Del Negro said after the game he played a minimal amount to ease him back into playing.
Analysis: Foye had scored a combined 12 points and dished out six assists in his only other games this year. With Baron Davis out of commission for a bit, Foye will serve as the primary backup to rookie Eric Bledsoe. At this time, Foye doesn't have much Fantasy value. He should only be a guard option in the deepest of leagues heading into Week 5 (Nov. 22-28).
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye told the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday that he hopes to play on Thursday against Indiana. Foye has been out with a hamstring injury and missed Wednesday's game at Minnesota. Foye originally wasn't expected to return until Saturday against the Knicks.
Analysis: Foye has only played in two games this season and averaged six points, three assists and a rebound in those contests. He should get decent minutes as Baron Davis has also been out. Still, Eric Bledsoe has played well and so has Eric Gordon. We're not sure how Foye will be used upon his immediate return so stay tuned for that. He is really only worth having in the deeper Fantasy leagues right now.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye (hamstring) hopes to return on Saturday against New York, reports the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday. Foye has been out with a hamstring injury and is still questionable to play in that game.
News: The Los Angeles Times reports that Randy Foye has been working hard with trainers to try to rehab his injured left hamstring, running in water and lifting weights. Foye says that he is deferring to the team's training staff because this is a relatively new injury. "They say Corey Maggette had it a few times, and I'm just trying to go for their feedback because it felt pretty good," Foye said. "I just want to know if I go out there and get going, it won't happen again." There remains no timetable for his return to action.
Analysis: On Thursday, coach Vinny Del Negro announced that Foye would miss at least another week, which would put him out for most of Fantasy Week 3 (Nov. 8-14). It sounds like he could miss even more time than that. It is a shame, too, since he is missing a chance to fill in for injured starter Baron Davis. Keep Foye out of active lineups until further notice. When both Davis and Foye are healthy, Foye will have minimal Fantasy appeal.
News: Clippers G Randy Foye, who hasn't played since Friday because of a hamstring injury, is out for at least another week, coach Vinny Del Negro said Wednesday.
Analysis: The Clippers were saying one or two weeks back on Sunday, so this prognosis is a little bit better. Foye was expected to serve as the backup to Baron Davis, but with both hurting, rookie Eric Bledsoe has filled in admirably and has no doubt earned a bigger role in the rotation. Foye might not get enough minutes to score in double figures consistently, so you can leave him for deeper leagues.
News: The Clippers played without backup point guard Randy Foye on Sunday. He tweaked his hamstring during Saturday's practice and is expected to miss one or two weeks according to coach Vinny Del Negro. The club will have a better idea of Foye's status Monday.
Analysis: When healthy, Foye is playing a backup role behind Baron Davis that limits his potential Fantasy appeal. Barring an injury to Davis, we don't anticipate Foye being anything more than an emergency stopgap measure fore deeper leagues when healthy.
News: As expected, Clippers G Randy Foye (hamstring) was inactive for Sunday's game against the Mavericks. He injured his left hamstring in practice on Saturday.
Analysis: The Clippers are calling Foye day to day but he could definitely miss more than just the one game. That would make him an injury risk for the second week of the season. In two games, Foye had done little that would make Fantasy owners want to use him, however, so go ahead and keep him benched.
News: Clippers guard Randy Foye injured his left hamstring in practice on Saturday and will not play against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, reports the Los Angeles Times. The Clippers will activate Craig Smith. Foye is considered day to day
Analysis: The Clippers are calling Foye day to day but he could definitely miss more than just the one game. That would make him an injury risk for the second week of the season. In two games, Foye had done little that would make Fantasy owners want to use him, however, so go ahead and keep him benched.
News: Clippers G Randy Foye led his team in assists with five off the bench in Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Trail Blazers. He played 22 minuets and finished with five points and a rebound.
Analysis: Foye saw limited playing time behind Baron Davis and Eric Gordon. He looked a bit heavy and sluggish against the Blazers and throughout the preseason, but can contribute decent numbers if injuries or some other situation put him in line for heavy minutes.
News: With Baron Davis sitting out G Randy Foye got the start at point guard in Friday's preseason game against the Warriors. Foye had seven points on 3 of 8 shooting and six assists in the 127-87 loss. He logged 21 minutes and finished with one rebound.
Analysis: Foye only got the start because Baron Davis did not play on Friday because of a coaches decision. Foye will most likely serve as a backup to both Baron Davis and Eric Gordon this season. However, Foye is a player with tremendous upside and should be viewed as a solid handcuff option for the often injured Davis. Foye is worth a late-round pick in deeper formats on Draft Day.
News: The Los Angeles Clippers have signed free agents Randy Foye and Ryan Gomes. The deals were announced Thursday night, shortly after LeBron James said he was leaving Cleveland for the Miami Heat. The Clippers were among the teams that made a pitch to James.
Analysis: Foye, who has played for four season, averaged 10.1 points, 3.3 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 70 games for the Washington Wizards last season. The Clippers lost free agent guard Steve Blake, who officially signed with the Lakers on Thursday, but Foye is still likely to play a backup role behind Baron Davis and Eric Gordon. Expect Foye to be little more than waiver wire fodder in Fantasy this fall.
News: The Sports Xchange reports Washington guard Randy Foye (sprained left wrist) will be able to work out this summer with no problems. Foye last played March 27 and finished the year with 10.1 points, 3.3 assists and 1.9 rebounds. The Wizards will have to toss around whether or not to extend a $4.8 million qualifying offer to Foye.
Analysis: Foye should be fine for the start of the 2010-11 season. Keep an eye on where he ends up, which will determine his value, but no matter where Foye ends up he should be considered a low-end Fantasy guard in all leagues.
News: According to the Washington Post, Wizards G Randy Foye will miss the remainder of the season because of a torn ligament in his left wrist. When asked if he could play a day after having his cast removed, he smiled and said, "Oh naw. No chance at all." Foye injured himself on Feb. 22 while guarding Chicago's Derrick Rose. "It's definitely a disappointment," Foye said, "because I wanted to be out there with the guys to help them, give them a boost, help them win. They did in New Orleans, but I wanted to be a part of it. To be in a cast is frustrating for me. But luckily, it's my left wrist. I hail from this."
Analysis: Even when healthy, Foye had minimal Fantasy value. Now that he is definitely done for the season, Fantasy owners should drop Foye and look to add some depth to their lineup.
News: Wizards guard Randy Foye missed Tuesday's game at Houston with a wrist injury. He is expected to miss at least seven to 10 days with the injury.
Analysis: Keep Foye reserved in all leagues. When healthy, he has minimal Fantasy value as a low-end guard.
News: Wizards G Randy Foye did not play in Saturday's game against Utah with a strained wrist. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: Foye had scored 17 points in his previous game, but was in a rut for the most part prior to getting hurt. He is not a recommended Fantasy option while injured as he's not worth taking the risk.
News: Washington guard Randy Foye continues to play well. Foye had 18 points, five assists and four rebounds Wednesday against Milwaukee. He is now averaging 16.0 points and 6.6 assists in his past five games.
Analysis: Foye got off to a hot start when he replaced the suspended Gilbert Arenas in January. He then went through a scoring lull in February, but it appears like he is back to playing at a high level again. Consider Foye a quality Fantasy option in all leagues while he's playing like this, and hopefully this type of production will continue for the rest of the season.
News: Wizards G Randy Foye scored 16 points and provided the winning margin with two jumpers in the final 44 seconds in a win over New Jersey Sunday. Foye, a native from Newark, hit a baseline jumper with 44.6 seconds to play and he added another from the same left side with 13.5 seconds left to extend the lead to four points. "I never get a chance to play well here at home," Foye said. "I have so many friends and family here to see me and I usually play bad. But tonight, I stayed with it and made the shots. I said to myself that I wasn't having a good game, but I had to take what the defense gave me."
Analysis: Foye continues to play solid basketball, averaging 15.2 points over his last five contests to go along with five boards and two assists. The Wizards play a difficult three game schedule during Fantasy Week 19 (March 1-7), but Foye can provide value as a No. 4 Fantasy guard.
News: Wizards G Randy Foye scored 22 points and added a season-high 10 assists Friday against the Knicks. Foye shot 8 of 11 from the floor while adding three 3's, and one rebound. It was the first time in his last five games that he has scored 20 or more points.
Analysis: Foye is averaging 12.4 points over his last five contests to go along with seven assists. While his assists usually remain consistent, his scoring does not. He is capable of scoring 20-plus but also capable of dropping two points. Consider him a No. 4 Fantasy guard.
News: Wizards guard Randy Foye scored 16 points on 7 of 13 shooting on Monday in a win over Chicago. Foye missed all three 3-pointers he attempted but added nine assists and a steal over 37 minutes.
Analysis: Foye is averaging just 9.0 points per game over his last five with 6.2 assists and few other stats that will make Fantasy owners happy. Foye remains a No. 3 or 4 Fantasy guard. He has upside but is very inconsistent.
News: Washington G Randy Foye scored just five points in a 94-92 loss to Charlotte on Tuesday. In 33 minutes of play, Foye shot just 2 of 9 from the field while adding seven assists and three rebounds.
Analysis: Foye has been inconsistent over his last five games and has failed to scored over the five point mark in two of those contests. He is averaging 11.6 points per game over his last five games to go along with 4.8 rebounds. Foye can be counted on for scoring in double figures, but he lacks production in rebounds and assists. It warrants him as a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy guard.
News: Washington G Randy Foye had 22 points and seven assists as the Wizards defeated Orlando 92-91 on Friday. Foye and Caron Butler combined for 49 points after halftime. Just in the third period, they combined to score 34 points while going 14-for-14 on free throws and throwing in some sizzling shots from outside. In 35 minutes, Foye shot 6 of 14 from the field while adding seven rebounds and a block.
Analysis: Foye has been playing some of his better basketball as of late by scoring in double figures in three of his last four games. Foye can be counted on for scoring in double figures, but he lacks production in rebounds and assists. It warrants him as a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy guard.
News: Washington G Randy Foye scored 14 points on 6 of 12 shooting as the Wizards defeated New York 106-96 on Saturday. Foye played 32 minutes and dished out five assists in the victory for Washington.
Analysis: In his last five games, Foye has averaged 10.2 points, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game. Foye has struggled as of late, but he has shown some flashes of becoming a productive scorer earlier in the month. However, if Mike Miller remains aggressive in shooting the ball, shots might be taken away from Foye making him a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy guard.
News: Washington guard Randy Foye scored 19 points to beat the Blazers on Monday. Foye shot 6 for 10 from the field and 7 for 8 from the free-throw line. He added one steal, three rebounds and five assists.
Analysis: Foye is giving Fantasy owners 17.4 points, 7.2 assists, 3.0 boards, 1.0 steals and almost a three per night over his last five games. As long as Gilbert Arenas remains out, it seems, Foye is going to be a solid Fantasy option in any league. Somebody has to score other than Antawn Jamison and Foye is that man for the Wizards.
News: Washington guard Randy Foye scored 22 points on Friday in a loss at Chicago. Foye shot 10 of 23 in the game and missed all three three-point attempts. He added seven assists, three boards, two steals and a block.
Analysis: Foye has scored at least 18 points in six straight games and that comes with at least six assists and a steal per night. Foye is playing at a high level right now with Gilbert Arenas out and can be counted on in most deeper Fantasy leagues, at least.
News: Wizards PG Randy Foye, who scored a season-high 23 points last time out, had 20 points and a season-high 10 assists, giving him his first double-double of the season, Tuesday against the Pistons. He also had five rebounds. He's now averaging 21.0 points, 8.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds in three games since taking over as the team's starting point guard.
Analysis: The Wizards have a lot of stats to replace with the loss of Gilbert Arenas, and Foye looks poised to inherit much of them. He has already inherited Arenas' starting job and could approach last year's 16.3 points and 4.3 assists per game as a result. In fact, he might even surpass them. He has gone from early-season bust to must-start Fantasy option seemingly overnight, so make sure he's not still on waivers in your league.
News: Wizards SG Randy Foye finished with a season-high 20 points on Friday against the Magic. He left the game briefly to get four stitches after getting hit in the mouth in the first half. He went 5 of 17 from the floor while adding four rebounds and six assists in 34 minutes.
Analysis: Foye moved into the starting lineup on Friday, replacing Earl Boykins. For Foye, the starting point guard job is something he handled with relative success last season in Minnesota. He averaged 16.3 points, 4.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds for the Timberwolves in the 2008-09 season. This boosts Foye's Fantasy value and Fantasy owners should be looking to him as a viable No. 3 guard going forward. He seems OK after getting a few stitches on Friday, so leave him in Fantasy lineups, if you choose.
News: According to the team's official Web site, Wizards G Randy Foye will be in the starting lineup Friday night against Orlando. He will replace G Earl Boykins.
Analysis: For Foye, the starting point guard job is something he handled with relative success last season in Minnesota. He averaged 16.3 points, 4.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds for the Timberwolves in the 2008-09 season. This boosts Foye's Fantasy value and Fantasy owners should be looking to him as a viable No. 3 guard going forward.
News: According to the Washington Post, Wizards coach Flip Saunders is considering a lineup change that would move Earl Boykins back to a bench role. Boykins got the start at point guard in the first game following Gilbert Arenas' suspension.
Analysis: Boykins played just 19 minutes in that game and saw most of the minutes go to Randy Foye and Nick Young in the back court so his Fantasy appeal didn't get much of a boost even as a starter. For Foye, this could mean a return to a starting point guard job, something he handled with relative success last season in Minnesota. He averaged 16.3 points, 4.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds for the Timberwolves in the 2008-09 season.
News: With starting PG Gilbert Arenas suspended indefinitely, Wizards reserve G Randy Foye scored 18 points Wednesday at Cleveland -- his most since he had 19 in the season opener. He also had two rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes.
Analysis: Foye continued to come off the bench, but he clearly played a bigger role on offense with Arenas out of the picture. Arenas faces a lengthy suspension, if not jail time, for bringing guns into the Wizards locker room, so Foye could see a big boost in value in the coming days. The Wizards haven't made full use of him this season, but he averaged 16.3 points for the Timberwolves last season. Keep en eye on his performance going forward.
News: NBA commissioner David Stern has indefinitely suspended Gilbert Arenas, saying the Washington Wizards guard is "not currently fit to take the court" for a game. Stern said in a statement Wednesday that Arenas' actions will "ultimately result in a substantial suspension, and perhaps worse." Because Arenas violated NBA rules by bringing guns into Washington's locker room, Stern decided to punish Arenas now. He says the suspension begins immediately. Stern says he originally planned to wait for the criminal investigation to be completed before taking action, and directed the Wizards to do the same. The Wizards are in agreement with Stern. "We fully endorse the decision of the NBA to indefinitely suspend Gilbert Arenas," team president Ernie Grunfeld said in a statement.
Analysis: The Wizards have used Earl Boykins as the No. 2 point guard behind Arenas, and Randy Foye, a former point guard in Minnesota, can also see time at that spot. Don't run out and grab these guys immediately until coach Flip Saunders addresses the position and gives an indication what the Wizards are going to do, but Boykins and Foye should see a boost in production. In his past five games, Boykins is avergaing 2.4 points and 3.4 assists in 16 minutes per game. Foye is averaging 9.4 points and 1.4 assists in 23.2 minutes per game over that same span.
News: According to the Washington Post, Randy Foye will take over as the starting shooting guard for the Wizards. He will replace DeShawn Stevenson.
Analysis: According to the report, coach Flip Saunders is hoping that Foye will be productive and will give him a long leash. He is hoping that the fact he doesn't have to look over his shoulder anymore will free him up. Fantasy owners should consider buying low on Foye in deeper leagues. He did average 16.3 points, 4.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds as Minnesota's starting point guard last season.
News: Wizards G Randy Foye had only four points in five minutes off the bench Monday at the Clippers. He has played less than 10 minutes in five of his last seven games.
Analysis: Foye is one of the last men in the Wizards' rotation right now, so he clearly isn't contributing worthwhile numbers in Fantasy. He had plenty of value in Minnesota last year, but in his new role, he's nothing more than waiver fodder.
News: Wizards G Randy Foye got only six minutes off the bench Tuesday at Toronto after getting only 11 minutes each of the previous two games. In fact, he's averaging just 3.6 points in 11.8 minutes over his last eight games.
Analysis: Foye isn't getting much playing time even with Mike Miller sidelined by a calf injury, so his prospects don't look good for the future unless the Wizards have a sudden change of heart about him. He's not worth owning except in deeper leagues.
News: Washington SG Randy Foye returned to action on Wednesday night against Cleveland after missing time with an ankle injury. Of course, he only played four minutes in the game and scored zero points on 0 for 1 shooting. He could still be feeling that ankle so be careful of his use until he plays his usual game.
Analysis: Foye is nothing but a reserve for the Wizards at this point but he should do more than he did on Wednesday. Something might be up and that limits his Fantasy value for the time being.
News: Washington SG Randy Foye was not active on Saturday against the Pistons due to a sprained ankle. He is considered questionable for Wednesday against Cleveland.
Analysis: As a reserve, Foye won't get as many assists as he did with the Timberwolves, but he'll do enough scoring to serve as a matchups type in Fantasy. Considering his injury status, Foye is not a recommended option in any league for Fantasy Week 4 (Nov. 16-22) unless word comes out that he'll be active Wednesday before lineups lock on Monday.
News: Wizards G Randy Foye played only seven minutes off the bench Tuesday at Miami before leaving with a sprained ankle. He didn't score a single point. He had scored 16 in each of his last two games.
Analysis: Ankle injuries typically sideline players for a few days, but since the Wizards have only one game in the next seven days, Foye might not end up missing much playing time. As a reserve, he won't get as many assists as he did with the Timberwolves, but he'll do enough scoring to serve as a matchups type in Fantasy.
News: Washington SG Nick Young earned his first start of the season on Friday night in a loss at Indiana. Young made his debut in the starting lineup in place of the injured Mike Miller. Many had thought it would be Randy Foye to start but Foye came off the bench as Young scores three points on 1 of 4 shooting over 15 minutes on the night. Young nailed one three and grabbed two boards with a block. Foye came off the bench for an extended 34 minutes and shot 6 of 14 from the field with two threes. He scored 16 points with four rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Young got the starting nod on Friday but it is clear who the better option was for Fantasy owners. Foye was given an increase of minutes and scored in double figures for the first time in three games because of it. Foye is averaging 12.3 points, 2.5 boards and 3.0 assists per game on the season and that will likely rise over the coming weeks with Miller out. Young is not worth adding off waivers in most leagues but if Foye is available, he definitely is worth it.
News: The Washington Times reports that Mike Miller will miss 7-10 days with a sprained left shoulder. Randy Foye is the likely candidate to replace him in the starting lineup in the meantime.
Analysis: Foye is averaging 11.6 points, 3.2 assists and 2.2 rebounds through five games and Fantasy owners could look to him as a one-week stopgap. He has made at least one three in each game this season and he should be able to keep that up with more minutes.
News: Washington SG Randy Foye had a great debut with teh club on Tuesday in the season-opening win at Dallas. Foye played 30 minutes and shot 8 of 14 with a three to score 19 points. He added two steals and three boards.
Analysis: Foye looked solid off the bench for Washington. The only reason he isn't starting is the health of Gilbert Arenas and he becomes a solid addition off the bench. Foye will give your Fantasy roster a solid amount of points and assists this season so think of him as a No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Washington SG Randy Foye led the Wizards with 17 points in their preseason loss to Philadelphia on Tuesday. Foye shot 7 of 14 from the field with two threes. He added four dimes and three boards.
Analysis: Foye entered the game Tuesday averaging 12 points, almost three assists and two rebounds per game in six preseason contests. He's been starting recently but is definitely struggling shooting the basketball. Foye was solid in Minnesota, but not spectacular, and missed most of his second season with a knee injury. He picked up some of the scoring load when Al Jefferson went down with a knee injury in February when he averaged 16.3 points and 4.3 assists, but the Wolves had difficulty deciding whether to play him at point guard or shooting guard. He will get a fresh start in Washington and will not have to carry as big a burden if Gilbert Arenas is healthy. He'll be worth drafting as a No. 3 guard in any league with the upside for a boost in scoring now that he will be primarily used as a two guard.
News: The trade that brings the Minnesota Timberwolves the No. 5 overall pick in Thursday's draft has been completed. The Timberwolves and Washington on Wednesday struck a deal that gives Minnesota its fourth first-round draft choice, along with Wizards forwards Etan Thomas, Darius Songaila and Oleksiy Pecherov. The Wizards receive guards Randy Foye and Mike Miller. The teams first agreed to the deal on Tuesday night. Minnesota now has the fifth, sixth, 18th and 28th selections in the draft.
Analysis: Foye was solid in Minnesota, but not spectacular, and missed most of his second season with a knee injury. He picked up some of the scoring load when Al Jefferson went down with a knee injury in February when he averaged 16.3 points and 4.3 assists, but the Wolves had difficulty deciding whether to play him at point guard or shooting guard. He'll be worth drafting as a No. 3 guard in any league with the upside for a boost in scoring now that he will be primarily used as a two guard.
News: The Timberwolves agreed to trade guards Randy Foye and Mike Miller to the Washington Wizards for the fifth overall draft pick and three players. Two NBA officials with knowledge of the deal confirmed that the trade had been agreed upon Tuesday night. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been completed. The deal would give Minnesota the fifth and sixth overall selections in Thursday's NBA draft, as well as forwards Etan Thomas, Darius Songaila and Oleksiy Pecherov.
Analysis: Foye has been dogged by comparisons to Portland star Brandon Roy ever since the two were swapped on draft night in 2006. Roy developed into an All-Star and one of the best young players in the game. Foye has been solid, but not spectacular, and missed most of his second season with a knee injury. He picked up some of the scoring load when Al Jefferson went down with a knee injury in February. Foye averaged 16.3 points and 4.3 assists, but the Wolves had difficulty deciding whether to play him at point guard or shooting guard. News: Minnesota PG Randy Foye could not return for Wednesday's season finale against the Kings. He missed his final nine games with a hip injury but should be fine for the start of training camp next season.
Analysis: Foye averaged 16 points and four assists this season for Minnesota but his scoring average went up to nearly 20 points per game over the second half of the season. He finished strong, despite the injuries, and will likely be a top Fantasy option next season.
News: The Pioneer Press reports Minnesota coach Kevin McHale said that guard Randy Foye won't play in Wednesday night's season-finale against the Sacramento Kings because of the bone bruise in his hip that has sidelined him for the last eight games.
Analysis: Keep Foye reserved in all daily leagues. Hopefully he can return at 100 percent next year and build off his breakout season in 2008-09. Foye averaged 16.3 points, 4.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds in his third year. Foye has turned into a quality Fantasy option in all formats.
News: Minnesota guard Randy Foye (hip) missed Monday night's game against Dallas. Foye has missed eight games straight now with the hip injury and may not return during the regular season with one game remaining.
Analysis: Foye's season is likely over. The Wolves have one more game after Monday against Sacramento on Wednesday, and it's doubtful Foye will return for that contest. Keep Foye reserved in all leagues.
News: The Star-Tribune reports Minnesota guard Randy Foye (hip) is out Monday against Dallas. Foye has missed seven games coming into Monday's game against the Mavericks.
Analysis: It sounds like Foye's season is over. The Wolves have one more game after Monday against Sacramento on Wednesday, and it's doubtful Foye will return for that contest. Keep Foye reserved in all leagues.
News: Minnesota G Randy Foye sat out his seventh straight game Saturday against the Suns due to a sore left hip. There are reports Foye could miss the rest of the season.
Analysis: Because the Timberwolves have nothing except pride to play for in the final weeks, rushing Foye back would be foolish. He remains a risky start at this time, so it's best to keep him reserved in Fantasy. Foye is a decent No. 2 or No. 3 Fantasy guard when healthy.
News: Minnesota G Randy Foye sat out his sixth straight game Wednesday against the Warriors due to a sore left hip. There are reports Foye could miss the rest of the season.
Analysis: The Timberwolves have nothing except pride to play for in the final weeks, so rushing Foye back would be foolish. He remains a risky start at this time, so it's best to keep him reserved in Fantasy. Foye is a decent No. 2 or No. 3 Fantasy guard when healthy.
News: The Pioneer Press reports Monday that Minnesota guard Randy Foye might have played his final game of the season. Foye didn't accompany the team on its two-game West Coast road trip because of a lingering bone bruise in his hip, and coach Kevin McHale wasn't optimistic about Foye's chances of returning in the final three games. "I've asked him to try a couple things differently that I want to see if he can kind of take to the court," McHale said. "But I would say as of right now it doesn't look too promising that he'll get out there at any time." Foye would like to play again this season. "I just want to get back out there and see how it feels, even it's 20-25 minutes a game," Foye said.
Analysis: There's nothing official yet, but it appears like Foye's season is done. Don't release Foye just yet, but keep him reserved in all leagues until there's a word whether his season is over or not.
News: The Pioneer Press reports Monday that Minnesota guard Randy Foye might have played his final game of the season. News: The Pioneer Press reports Minnesota guard Randy Foye (hip) and forward Craig Smith (calf) missed their fourth consecutive games for the Wolves against Denver on Sunday, but coach Kevin McHale indicated Smith could return soon. Minnesota has three games this scoring period, starting Tuesday at the Clippers.
Analysis: There was no mention of when Foye will return in the report, so the safe option in all leagues is to keep Foye reserved for this scoring period. When healthy, Foye is a No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Minnesota PG Randy Foye missed Sunday's game against the Nuggets due to a hip injury. Foye's hip has bothered him since he fell on teammate Kevin Love in practice a month ago and missed a game at the Lakers on March 5, too. He is considered day to day and is questionable for Tuesday's game at the Clippers.
Analysis: Foye becomes an injury risk for the upcoming scoring period as he continues to sit out with the hip injury. He would be a good start if he was active as the team plays the Clippers, Warriors and Suns next week. However, the risk likely isn't worth is and he should probably be benched for the upcoming scoring period.
News: Minnesota PG Randy Foye missed Friday's game against Minnesota due to a hip injury. Foye's hip has bothered him since he fell on teammate Kevin Love in practice a month ago and missed a game at the Los Angeles Lakers on March 5, too. He is considered day to day and is questionable for Sunday's game against Denver.
Analysis: Foye was an injury risk for the prior scoring period and will most likely be a risky play in Fantasy Week 24 (April 6-12) if he can't play on Sunday. He is a high-end option when healthy so be sure to see if he plays on Sunday before locking your lineup for the upcoming scoring period.
News: Minnesota PG Randy Foye missed his second consecutive game on Tuesday night at home against Dallas. Foye is dealing with a hip injury. He's day to day. Foye's hip has bothered him since he fell on teammate Kevin Love in practice a month ago and missed a game at the Los Angeles Lakers on March 5, too.
Analysis: Foye remains a risky start in daily leagues, so use caution when setting your lineup. When healthy, Foye is a solid Fantasy option in all formats.
News: The Star-Tribune reports Minnesota guard Randy Foye remains questionable for Tuesday's game against Dallas. Foye continued to be bothered by the injured hip that caused him to miss Sunday's victory over New Jersey. Foye's hip has bothered him since he fell on teammate Kevin Love in practice a month ago and missed a game at the Los Angeles Lakers on March 5.
Analysis: Foye remains a risky start in daily leagues, so use caution when setting your lineup. When healthy, Foye is a solid Fantasy option in all formats.
News: The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Minnesota guard Randy Foye did not practice Monday after sitting out Sunday's 108-99 win over New Jersey. Coach Kevin McHale said Foye is questionable for Tuesday night's game against Dallas. Foye bruised his hip on March 4 in a practice collision with rookie forward Kevin Love and McHale said, "He never, ever kind of has gotten over it."
Analysis: It sounds like Foye will be an injury risk for this scoring period. The Wolves have three games, so you don't want to take the risk that Foye is hurt and has to sit out. When healthy, Foye is a solid Fantasy option, but hopefully this doesn't cause him any setbacks.
News: Guard Randy Foye and forward Craig Smith missed Minnesota's game against New Jersey while the Nets were without Bobby Simmons and Jarvis Hayes. Foye was out of Sunday's game with a hip injury that has bothered him for the last month.
Analysis: Foye played through the pain while also dealing with an ankle injury, but coach Kevin McHale said that the hip has continued to be a problem in recent days. He has been coming off the bench, but was still getting over 30 minutes per game. Now, with the Timberwolves slated for just three games in Week 23, you'll have to start him at your own risk.
News: Timberwolves guard Randy Foye said Tuesday in the Star Tribune he is feeling the pain of an injured hip and ankle during March. When Al Jefferson first got hurt in February, Foye went out in his next 11 games and averaged 22 points a night. In his next six games -- a stretch interrupted by that sprained right ankle -- he averaged 10.1 points before he busted out of a March slump Monday night with 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting in a loss at Atlanta, the Wolves' 18th in 21 games without Jefferson.
Analysis: Foye should be fine as he fights through these ailments, but he remains a young player still going through growing pains. Look for him to play well with Jefferson out, and hopefully that will carry over into next season when he will get better looks with Jefferson out. For now, consider Foye a No. 2 Fantasy guard.
News: Minnesota PG Randy Foye shot well on Monday at Atlanta as he scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Foye added four rebounds and connected on four threes.
Analysis: Foye is averaging 11 points, three dimes, two boards and over a three per night over a five-game span. He has the ability to play better than this but he's been struggling since returning from an ankle injury. Still, since he returned he should go back to being used as a No. 2 or No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Timberwolves PG Randy Foye returned after missing two games with hip and ankle injures on Saturday against the Bobcats. Foye scored nine points in 31 minutes on 3-of-8 shooting. He added five dimes and a block in the game.
Analysis: Foye came off the bench but should return to the starting lineup again shortly. Right now he's still an injury risk since he didn't exactly play great on Saturday. Still, since he returned he should go back to being used as a No. 2 or No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Minnesota PG Randy Foye was unable to play on Friday against the Knicks as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. Foye remains questionable for Saturday's game against the Bobcats.
Analysis: Minnesota coach Kevin McHale said Foye was doubtful to play in Friday's game, and he wasn't able to as expected. Foye's ankle must still be in a good amount of pain and the Timberwolves have no reason to risk further damage. If he doesn't play on Saturday, consider him an injury risk for the upcoming scoring period.
News: The Pioneer Press reports Minnesota coach Kevin McHale hasn't made a final decision on guard Randy Foye (sprained right ankle) or forward Rodney Carney (bruised groin/abdomen) for Friday night's game against the New York Knicks, but he said after the morning shootaround that both are "very doubtful." "Probably Rod is more iffy than Randy," McHale said, "but they're both iffy right now." Foye and Carney were injured in Monday night's loss to Washington and sat out Wednesdays win over Memphis. Foye said Thursday in the Star Tribune that he's "90 percent sure" he'll play.
Analysis: There are obviously conflicting reports on Foye's status, so the safe bet is to keep him reserved, especially since McHale said he was doubtful following shootaround. Hopefully for Fantasy owners, Foye can return soon, but we know that ankle injuries are typically tricky with when they heal.
News: The Star-Tribune reports Minnesota guard Randy Foye said he's "90 percent sure" he'll play Friday night against the Knicks. Coach Kevin McHale said he'd wait until after the shootaround to make the decision. But Foye, who sprained his right ankle Monday and sat out Wednesday's game, was able to run, jump and shoot Thursday. "When it happened, the pain -- when it first hit me -- was a shock," Foye said. "I haven't twisted my ankle in, like, six years. So it was just a shock." Foye, who also has a sore hip, said treatment has gone well and he's ready.
Analysis: This sounds like Foye will return against the Knicks. It appears safe to keep him active in daily leagues. When healthy, Foye is a No. 2 Fantasy guard.
News: Guard Randy Foye watched Tuesday's practice with a walking boot on his sprained right ankle. The team's second-leading scorer then missed Wednesday's game against Memphis and will probably miss more after being injured on Monday against Washington in the team's 10th consecutive loss. Foye was injured in the fourth quarter against the Wizards when he landed awkwardly after trying to catch a lob pass from Mike Miller. He came down on Washington point guard Javaris Crittenton's foot and his ankle bent severely as he crumpled to the court under the basket.
Analysis: Just how long Foye will be out remains to be seen. He said he was in much less pain on Tuesday and there was minimal swelling in the joint. "If it was up to me, I would try to play tomorrow," Foye said. "But they just told me to sit out a couple of days, 48 hours, and see how it feels." Foye is averaging 16.9 points and 4.5 assists. He's a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 option when healthy, but it appears this could be a lost week for him. Fantasy owners in daily leagues should look for healthier alternatives until further notice.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Randy Foye watched practice on Tuesday with a walking boot on his sprained right ankle. The team's second leading scorer is likely to miss at least one game and probably more after being injured on Monday against Washington in the team's 10th consecutive loss.
Analysis: Foye was injured in the fourth quarter against the Wizards when he landed awkwardly after trying to catch a lob pass from Mike Miller. Foye is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 16.9 points. He was also dealing with a hip injury before spraining his ankle on Monday. He's a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 option when healthy, but it appears this could be a lost week for him. Fantasy owners in daily leagues should look for healthier alternatives until further notice.
News: Minnesota guard Randy Foye was carried to the locker room Monday night in the fourth quarter of the Timberwolves' game against Washington because of a sprained right ankle. Foye tried to leap to catch a high lob pass from Mike Miller on a two-on-one and crumpled when the pass sailed over his arms. He immediately grabbed his right ankle, but there was no immediate word whether he would miss any time. Foye scored 15 points in the game with six assists and three rebounds in the game. "That's like one of the last things we needed right now is for Foye to go down," said Wolves guard Sebastian Telfair, who scored 18 points.
Analysis: Losing Foye for any stretch would be devastating for a Timberwolves team that already is without star center Al Jefferson, who was lost just before the All-Star break with a torn ACL. Foye is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 16.9 points. He was also dealing with a hip injury before spraining his ankle on Monday. He's a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 option when healthy.
News: Minnesota G Randy Foye was able to return to the Minnesota lineup on Saturday against the Blazers after missing a game due to a hip injury sustained in practice when he fell on top of teammate Kevin Love. Foye scored 23 points in the game, adding three rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: It's a good thing for Foye's owners that he was back in the Blazers' starting lineup as it would have been a hairy situation for his owners if he wasn't. It appears to be safe to keep him active in all leagues and to consider him a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 option.
News: Minnesota starter Randy Foye sat out Friday in Los Angeles with a hip pointer sustained in practice Wednesday. "Kevin Love tried to take a charge on me and I fell on top of him," Foye said. "His elbow hit my hip. I finished practicing, but it was real sore and clicking."
Analysis: There is no word if Foye will be available for Saturday's game in Portland, though it is possible the team just wanted to avoid him playing in back-to-back games. Consider him a risky play in daily formats, but it does appear Foye will be available for Week 20.

Analysis: Foye will be the top scoring option for Minnesota from here on out and he's scored over 20 points in each of his last two games to prove it. He's now a high-end guard to start in all Fantasy formats as a No. 2 or high-end No. 3.

On Tuesday, however, Foye broke out for a career-high 33 points on 11-of-22 shooting with three threes. He added eight rebounds.
Analysis: Foye was really struggling before Tuesday's game and he's turning the ball over (3.4 per game over his last five) more than he's picking up assists (2.8 over that span). With just one more game to go before the All-Star break, owners would like to see more of Tuesday's version of Foye if they are going to trust starting him as a No. 2 or 3 guard for Fantasy.

He's getting 30-35 minutes on most nights, though he played just 26 minutes on Friday. Last April, Foye hinted at what he may be capable of in a third-year breakout scenario in 2008-09. He averaged 18.4 points, 5.2 assists and 3.0 rebounds. Right now, he's falling well short of expectations. Consider him a matchup starter in most formats.

He averaged 18.4 points, 5.2 assists and 3.0 rebounds and could be somewhere in the neighborhood of those numbers in his first full season as a starter. He looked more like a No. 3 Fantasy guard in the season opener though, and you should treat him as such for now.

News: Minnesota guard Randy Foye's numbers through his first 11 games are troublesome. He is averaging 8.7 points on 35.8 percent shooting in 25.5 minutes. He suffered perhaps his worst performance Sunday during a 99-83 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, scoring a season-low two points on 1-for-6 shooting. On offense, Foye's inability to get to the free-throw line has hampered his scoring. He has averaged just one free throw attempt for every 28 minutes played. Last season, he shot a free throw every 9.8 minutes. He didn't get to the line Sunday.

But the main thing that's concerning me about this year's team is learning how to win."
Analysis: Foye averaged 7.7 points and 21 minutes in three games since returning to the lineup Tuesday in Chicago. He has made nine of his 23 field-goal attempts, 39.1 percent. News: Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Randy Foye was set to return Tuesday against the Chicago Bulls after missing the first 43 games because of a stress reaction in his left kneecap. "It feels great," Foye said before the game. "Just to get back out there is going to be fun for me." Foye was not listed in the starting lineup, and coach Randy Wittman said his minutes will be limited "until he gets his feet back under him." His teammates are glad to have him back. "It'll mean nothing but great things," forward Al Jefferson said. "It's what we've been waiting for all year." Foye scored 11 points in 17 minutes. Foye entered the game with 4:16 left in the first quarter and missed his first two shots, but found his stroke early in the second. He scored seven points in the opening 1:45 of the period. He finished with two assists and one rebound.
Analysis: An NBA all-rookie team selection last season, Foye is a key figure as the Timberwolves rebuild following an offseason overhaul in which they sent Kevin Garnett to Boston. He averaged 10.1 points, 2.8 assists and 22.9 minutes while playing all 82 games last year. Foye said he bruised the knee in summer league and continued to play on it, aggravating the condition. He appeared in three preseason games before shutting it down. He initially expected to miss several weeks, but the injury was slow to heal. He started practicing on a limited basis on Jan. 7 and began participating in all drills about a week ago. When healthy, he will be considered a No. 3 Fantasy guard with the chance to see his value improve as he gets closer to 100 percent. Take a flier on him ASAP.
News: The Wolves are closer to a comeback by point guard Randy Foye, but coach Randy Wittman wasn't ready to declare a target return date. Foye returned to practice this week, but his time on the court will be rationed for some time.

News: PG Randy Foye's left knee is still pain-free, so he will continue to ratchet up his activities with the Timberwolves in the next week or two on his way back from a stress reaction in his kneecap that has kept him on the sideline all season. So what's next? There is a chance Foye could start taking part in some full-contact drills Wednesday or Thursday. If all is going well, he could accompany the team on its three-game trip, which starts Friday in Phoenix and ends Monday at Golden State. Coach Randy Wittman said he would meet with team doctors at some point Tuesday -- either before or after the Wolves' game with the Warriors -- to decide on a schedule for Foye. The Wolves are determined not to rush the second-year guard. And that means Foye is almost certainly not going to see any game action for two weeks.
Analysis: Keep Foye reserved for now and hope he can return soon. When healthy, he will be considered a No. 3 Fantasy guard with the chance to see his value improve as he gets closer to 100 percent.
News: Minnesota guard Randy Foye got the feedback he hoped for Monday he was cleared to resume practicing with the team after a CT scan and magnetic resonance imaging exam revealed the stress reaction in his kneecap is healing well, according to the Pioneer Press. The news was tempered somewhat because Foye isn't allowed yet to participate in contact drills. But the sight of the point guard back on the practice court Monday, closer to playing in games again, was a boost. The Wolves will monitor Foye for the next week to see how his knee reacts to the increased workload during non-contact drills. If all goes well, Foye could resume full-scale practices with the team after that, though there's no timetable for his return to games.
Analysis: Keep Foye reserved for now and hope he can return soon. When healthy, he will be considered a No. 3 Fantasy guard with the chance to see his value improve as he gets closer to 100 percent.
News: Minnesota guard Randy Foye was scheduled to have another CAT scan done on his left knee Monday to see if the stress reaction in the kneecap has healed enough for him to play. Foye has been tested twice since the season began, and both times he has been told to wait, according to the Sports Xchange. The good news? Foye has been slowly ramping up his workouts, and he remains pain-free. The bad news? Foye was convinced a few weeks ago that he'd be cleared to play only to be disappointed. If Foye is cleared, how long would it take to get into a game? Foye has said he'd need five good practices, but coach Randy Wittman isn't going to put a number on it.
Analysis: Hopefully Foye can return soon. When healthy, he should be considered a low-end Fantasy guard with the potential to be a solid option when he's close to 100 percent.
News:The Sports Xchange reports Randy Foye will have his injured kneecap re-tested on Monday. He has not played this season and has been sidelined since October because doctors found a developing crack on a hurting knee that originally was considered tendinitis. He has undergone imaging tests twice since then to see if the crack had disappeared. Three weeks ago, it had improved but still was there.
Analysis: Foye is a second-year guard who thrived in his rookie season during fourth quarters, a quarter in which the Wolves nine times this season have lost a lead they held after three quarters. "We're hoping this next one is the all clear," head coach Randy Wittman said. Foye, an NBA all-rookie team selection last season, averaged 10.1 points, 2.8 assists and 22.9 minutes while playing all 82 games in 2006. He should provide a spark for the T-Wolves and Fantasy owners when healthy, which could be very soon. Stay tuned.
News: Timberwolves PG Randy Foye is expected to continue rehabbing his injured left knee for a few more weeks. Foye, an NBA all-rookie team selection in 2006-07, has not played this season, but he was cleared to ramp up his rehab work after having some tests on the knee Monday.
Analysis: Foye, an NBA all-rookie team selection last season, averaged 10.1 points, 2.8 assists and 22.9 minutes while playing all 82 games in 2006. He came into the season with high expectations, but he's still a few weeks away from making good on them. Continue to keep him stashed away in Fantasy leagues.
News: Timberwolves PG Randy Foye is still relegated to light jogging and running on an underwater treadmill while recovering from a stress reaction in his left kneecap. Foye is scheduled for another CT scan on Dec. 10, when a timetable for his return could be more clear.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Randy Foye will miss at least three more weeks with the knee injury that has sidelined him since the preseason. Tests taken on Monday revealed that the crack diagnosed on his kneecap three weeks ago is not healing quickly enough.
Analysis: Foye, an NBA all-rookie team selection last season, averaged 10.1 points, 2.8 assists and 22.9 minutes while playing all 82 games in 2006. He came into the season with high expectations, but now because of this injury, those expectations might need to be altered. Continue to keep him stashed away in Fantasy leagues.
News: Timberwolves head coach Randy Wittman said that guard Randy Foye, who hasn't played because of an injury to his left kneecap, could be sent to the NBA Development League for a game or two once he returns if his injury lingers. Foye has not yet been cleared for any on-court activities.
News: Timberwolves point guard Randy Foye will be out several weeks because of a lingering knee injury. Tests revealed a stress reaction in his left kneecap.
Analysis: Foye, an NBA all-rookie team selection last season, averaged 10.1 points, 2.8 assists and 22.9 minutes while playing all 82 games in 2006. Sebastian Telfair, Marko Jaric and Greg Buckner are expected to assume the ballhandling while Foye is out, and until one of those guys emerges out of the committee situation ahead of the others -- which might not happen before Foye gets back -- none are worth owning except in the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Timberwolves PG Randy Foye played 16 minutes in the preseason finale Friday against the Bucks after missing three games with tendinitis in his left knee. He scored three points and had one assist, shooting 1-of-4 from the floor.
Analysis: The Timberwolves have declared Foye their starting point guard this season, giving him huge sleeper potential in Fantasy. Consider him a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy guard for now (with the potential for more), and don't worry at all about his bout with tendinitis.
News: Timberwolves PG Randy Foye missed Friday's preseason game at Indiana with tendinitis in his left knee. Minnesota considers him day to day.
Analysis: The Timberwolves have declared Foye their starting point guard this season, giving him huge sleeper potential in Fantasy. Foye wound up starting 12 games last season, but he averaged just 22 minutes a game. Consider him a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy guard for now (with the potential for more), and don't worry at all about this bout with tendinitis.
News: It may have taken a year longer than he expected, but Randy Foye said he is ready to be the Minnesota Timberwolves' full-time starter at point guard. One day after the team traded veteran Mike James to Houston for Juwan Howard, Foye said he is looking forward to running the show next season. "I think that's why they drafted me so high," said Foye, who was actually acquired in a draft-night trade for Brandon Roy last year. "When I was playing in the summer league, I was going really well but then they signed Mike. And when they first signed him, it kind of hurt because I knew deep down that if they signed a guy for $24 million then he was going to play right away, so I had to back him up. But I learned a lot from him, and I just took it and I just tried to be a sponge."
Analysis: The Wolves signed James to a four-year, $23.5 million deal before last season, but the player and the team never meshed. James began the season as the starter, but lost his job to the rookie Foye for a stretch as James struggled with his shot. Foye wound up starting 12 games last season, but averaged just 22 minutes a game and said he is ready for the increased work load. Unless the Wolves draft a point guard with their first selection in the June 28 draft, it will be Foye's job to lose. Consider him as a No. 3 or 4 Fantasy guard in drafts this fall, with the potential to increase his value in season.
News: Portland guard Brandon Roy, the NBA Rookie of the Year, was a unanimous choice Tuesday for the league's all-rookie team. Roy led the first team with 58 points, followed by Toronto's Andrea Bargnani (57), Minnesota's Randy Foye (48), Memphis' Rudy Gay (39) and Toronto's Jorge Garbajosa (37) and Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge (37) in voting by the league's head coaches.
Analysis: Roy led all rookies with averages of 16.8 points, 4.0 assists and 35.4 minutes in 57 games. He scored at least 20 points 16 times, despite a heel problem that caused him to miss 20 games early in the season. Bargnani, the first pick in the 2006 draft, was third among rookies with 11.6 points a game. Foye averaged 10.1 points and 2.7 rebounds in 82 games with the Timberwolves, while Garbajosa finished fifth among rookies in rebounding. Aldridge led all rookies in blocks (1.16 a game), had six double-doubles and was fourth in rebounding.
News: Guard Randy Foye hit 5 of 6 three-point shots and scored 19 points off the bench to pull Minnesota out of a tailspin and spark its victory at New York. Playing in Madison Square Garden for the first time as an NBA rookie, Foye didn't trip over his dropped jaw. "It's really like college," he said. "You aren't worry about 'I'm playing the Knicks.' You just got to go out there and play."
Analysis: Foye should be a solid player next year and is worth holding onto in keeper leagues. He also could be considered a low-end Fantasy option this year.
News: Guard Randy Foye had 18 points and six assists for Minnesota on Tuesday. Foye said he had no problem with Minnesota fans at Target Center cheering some of LeBron James' flashier moments and dazzling dunks. "He had some good dunks tonight," Foye said, "and basically, we're not giving them anything to cheer. So when guys like Shaq (O'Neal), LeBron and Kobe (Bryant) come in here, they seem to enjoy it. So let them enjoy it. But next year, we're just going to have to bring it."
Analysis: It's a good thing Foye is thinking about next year because he should be a good Fantasy option in 2007-08. Consider him a low-end guard now and a good keeper option.
News: Minnesota coach Randy Wittman said that, despite the Wolves' dwindling hopes of earning a playoff spot, he isn't ready to go into play-for-next-season mode. "That's my goal every night: Win every game," he said. So he wasn't ready to commit more time to youngsters such as Randy Foye or Rashad McCants for specific on-the-job training.
Analysis: Foye has some use in larger leagues down the stretch, but both he and McCants are more of keeper options at this time. They aren't seeing enough regular minutes to warrant using at this time outside of very deep leagues.
News: So why was Randy Foye able to get to the hoop so often last Sunday? Well, his quick first step had a lot to do with it, of course. And Kevin Garnett's willingness to play the pick and roll game with Foye down the stretch against Portland was a big reason, too. But a lot of it had to do with who Wolves coach Randy Wittman put on the floor with Garnett and Foye. For the second time in recent games, Wittman went with a small lineup that also included Ricky Davis and starting point guard Mike James. The goal with that lineup -- which also often includes Craig Smith -- is to flatten the defense. The Wolves put Davis and James in the corners, two shooters the opponent presumably has to account for. And that creates more room at the top of the key and into the lane.
Analysis: Foye had five points and three assists Tuesday against Seattle. He has been averaging 10.1 points in March and is worth using as a low-end Fantasy guard at this time.
News: Minnesota guard Randy Foye, in the view of coach Randy Wittman, is more comfortable and useful coming off the bench because he can play more freely and look for his own shots without neglecting playmaking duties quite so much with the second unit. So Wittman has gone back to using Foye in reserve, and it paid off with a game-high 24 points, and the pivotal bucket (20-foot jumper from out front) with 16.8 seconds left.
Analysis: Consider Foye a No. 3 or 4 Fantasy guard at this point and hope for more performances like this.
News: Minnesota guard Randy Foye was back in the starting lineup Sunday after a six-game absence, replacing the guy (Troy Hudson) who replaced him. It wasn't exactly another coming-out party, though; Foye finished with just three points on 1-of-4 shooting, with one assist and three turnovers. But he might stay in the role, given how poorly each of the team's points has played. "I still haven't had anybody jump up and say, 'This should be my job,' " coach Randy Wittman said before the game.
Analysis: Foye is a great option in keeper leagues but is not worth using as a starter at this time. Keep him reserved and hold onto him for next season.
News: Guard Randy Foye led Minnesota with 20 points off the bench Friday, his third 20-point performance of the season. Fourteen of those points came from the foul line, with Foye having nary a miss there. That was the most free throws by a Wolves player this season.
Analysis: Consider Foye a low-end Fantasy guard at this point but a solid option in keeper leagues still. He still has loads of talent, which is why he was selected among the top 10 picks in last summer's draft. He continues to learn on the job and should be in for a solid second season if the Timberwolves are able to keep Kevin Garnett happy.
News: Guard Randy Foye's layup attempt was swatted Friday by Alonzo Mourning, and Foye got the same rude treatment from Atlanta's Josh Smith one night later. Coach Randy Wittman considered those to be learning moments for the rookie, and hopes that he will learn the value of dropping off a pass to a teammate when a defender's long arm rises up in front of him.
Analysis: Consider Foye a low-end Fantasy guard at this point but a solid option in keeper leagues still. He still has loads of talent, which is why he was selected among the top 10 picks in last summer's draft.
News: Wolves rookie guard Randy Foye had a soaring one-handed put-back of another Kevin Garnett miss Tuesday against the Lakers that gave the Wolves a four-point lead in the second overtime. Seconds later he stole an in-bounds pass, which led to another, game-icing basket by Rashad McCants. "I still don't know where he came from," Wolves coach Randy Wittman said after the game. "Top of the key? The wing? The corner? That was a heck of a play."
Analysis: Foye finished with 10 points, five assists and three rebounds off the bench. It was Foye's first double-figure outing in his past four games. Consider him a low-end Fantasy option for now.
News: Guard Randy Foye didn't just yield the starting point guard spot to Troy Hudson Sunday after eight consecutive starts. He made his briefest appearance (five minutes and 49 seconds) of the season, with two turnovers and 1-of-3 shooting, all in the first half.
Analysis: Coach Randy Wittman attributed it to Foye's play, Hudson's production and taller Boston players at shooting guard (where he had hoped to use Foye). Consider Foye a low-end Fantasy guard at this point but a solid option in keeper leagues still.
News: Minnesota guard Randy Foye started Tuesday against Washington and had 10 points, four assists and three rebounds.
Analysis: Consider Foye a low-end Fantasy guard at this point but a solid option in keeper leagues.
News: Timberwolves rookie G Randy Foye has seen an increase in his playing time since the calendar year has turned. He averaged under 20 minutes for the first two months of the season, but since January, he has been averaging more than 20 minutes. He enters the All-Star break at 9.0 ppg, 2.4 apg and 2.7 rpg.
Analysis: Foye is still far from being a must-go-to Fantasy option, but he is improving. He still remains a decent long-term keeper, but is merely a low-end Fantasy guard in seasonal leagues entering the second half of the season.
News: Guard Randy Foye, in between his first two starts as the Wolves' point guard Sunday and Wednesday, had to answer for an incident early Monday in which he and three others were involved in a fight in south Minneapolis. Foye explained that he and his three "family members" pulled over when two of them started arguing, which escalated into a physical altercation. Police booked one man and cited the other three, including Foye, for disorderly conduct. "I will never put myself in a situation like that where you have family members around you and they're arguing," Foye told reporters later in the day. "You have to have people around you who understand the situation that you're in. My family, they didn't mean to do it. It's like anybody, your family gets into it and you try to be the peacekeeper and, at the end, everybody comes down on me because I'm the one with the name here."
Analysis: Expect Foye to bounce back from this situation and consider him a low-end guard at this time.
News: Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Randy Foye was cited early Monday for disorderly conduct after police found him in a fight outside a gas station. Foye and two others were released after receiving citations, Lt. Amelia Huffman said. A fourth person, Pierre D. Mitchell, was booked into Hennepin County jail for obstructing the legal process after he kicked at officers while refusing to be seated in a squad car.
Analysis: Foye, a point guard from Villanova taken seventh in last summer's draft, started his second game of the season Sunday against Boston. He is averaging nine points and 21 minutes per game. He was chosen to play in the NBA's rookie game as part of this weekend's All-Star festivities in Las Vegas. Consider him a low-end guard at this time.
News: Minnesota guard Randy Foye, like starter Mike James, had taken some criticism from coach Randy Wittman for not running the offense to Wittman's liking during the Wolves' four-game losing streak. No one had any gripes, though, after Minnesota dished 38 assists on 46 baskets. "We were moving the ball around, everybody," Foye said. "It was one of those nights where we were getting to every rebound and every time you passed the ball to someone where they were open, they would knock it down." Foye finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes.
Analysis: Consider Foye a low-end Fantasy guard at this time.
News: Guard Randy Foye probably will be compared to Portland's Brandon Roy until one of them retires, thanks to the draft night deal in which Minnesota swapped Roy for Foye (and got $1 million in the arrangement from the Blazers). Foye was named Western Conference rookie of the month in December, but Roy -- after missing 20 games due to heel surgery -- had been on a scoring tear for Portland. So what happened when they were in the same gym again Wednesday? Slight edge to Roy for his 13 points on 4-of-12 shooting with seven boards, three assists and three turnovers. Foye played 22 minutes, 14 less than Roy, and had five points, five rebounds, one assist and two turnovers.
Analysis: Both players will be big names in this league down the line, but Roy has gotten off to the better start this season despite an injury. Both are most-owns in keeper leagues, but Roy is the better start in seasonal leagues at this time as a No. 3 or 4 guard.
News: Guard Randy Foye scored a season-high 25 points in his NBA starting debut Sunday at Phoenix. That landed him third on the Timberwolves' franchise scoring list for players in their first starts. Donyell Marshall scored 30 points at Phoenix in November 1994 and Ricky Davis -- whose spot Foye took Sunday -- scored 26 as an immediate starter at Houston last January, the day after arriving in a trade with Boston. Foye eventually will be a starter in this league, a role he welcomes. "If you (were) to see me start, I would play more how I played (Sunday)," the rookie said. "Just free and open, knocking 'em down, just more comfortable and laid back. Basically, the biggest thing is to do it on a consistent basis."
Analysis: Foye remains a solid long-term keeper. He can be used as a low-end Fantasy guard in seasonal leagues as well.
News: Randy Foye led Minnesota with 25 points, including 5-for-6 on 3-pointers, Sunday against the Suns. He also had six rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Foye had a golden opportunity to step up Sunday in the absence of Kevin Garnett and Ricky Davis (suspensions), and he did just that. Don't get too excited though. He won't put these kinds of numbers up once those guys return to action, but remains a solid long-term keeper. He can be used as a low-end Fantasy guard in seasonal leagues as well.
News: Timberwolves G Randy Foye was a center of attention late in Friday's game, scoring all 16 of his points after halftime in the double-overtime loss to the Pistons. But the rookie from Villanova also was a star attraction early, with fans at Target Center getting a bobblehead doll in Foye's likeness. Well, sort of in Foye's likeness. "It's not too good. It's a lot darker than me," Foye said. "That's my main focus -- it should be my complexion. Because most of the bobbleheads don't look like the people. They ought to get the complexion."
Analysis: Foye has played fairly well since the middle of December and it looks as though the rookie is getting acclimated to life in the NBA. Still, expect inconsistency from the rookie as the season goes on. Use him as a low-end Fantasy guard at this time. He is also a solid long-term keeper.
News: By all appearances, it's going to be Randy Foye, sink or swim. Randy Foye, live or die. Randy Foye, for better or for worse. The rookie guard from Villanova had a mini-series worth of dramatic moments, highs and lows and learning opportunities in the Wolves' 94-90 overtime victory against Detroit on Monday. Foye scored five of his 15 points in the OT and found center Mark Blount for the game-winning three-pointer with the shot clock about to burp to boost Minnesota to its 10th victory in the past 13 games. "It's learning on my behalf," Foye said. "[Teammates and coaches] say things and I try to pick it up as we go. Still, it comes down to, I've got the ball in my hands, so I've got to be a man. If I make a mistake, I make a mistake. But when it's time to make a play, he (coach Dwane Casey) is still giving me the ball."
Analysis: Foye has played fairly well since the middle of December and it looks as though the rookie is getting acclimated to life in the NBA. Still, expect inconsistency from the rookie as the season goes on. Use him as a low-end Fantasy guard at this time. He is also a solid long-term keeper.
News: Timberwolves G Randy Foye gave as good as he got against Hall of Fame-bound guard Jason Kidd Saturday. Foye and Kidd were locked in a hotly contest individual matchup down the stretch, and the Minnesota rookie wound up with eight points, three assists and no turnovers in the fourth quarter to Kidd's seven points, two assists and two turnovers. Said coach Dwane Casey: "(He) was not intimidated. Most rookies you put in that situation against Jason Kidd and they wilt, and he didn't." Foye finished the game with 16 points, three rebounds and six assists.
Analysis: Foye has played fairly well since the middle of December and it looks as though the rookie is getting acclimated to life in the NBA. Still, expect inconsistency from the rookie as the season goes on. Use him as a low-end Fantasy guard at this time.
News: Timberwolves G Randy Foye got his first career double-double, scoring 11 points and getting 10 assists in a win over the 76ers on Friday.
Analysis: Foye has become a valuable sixth man for the T-Wolves recently, scoring double-figures in nine of the team's last 12 games. He could be playing a more prominent role in the T-Wolves offense as the season progresses and could be someone worth stashing away on benchs in the meantime.
News: With the game on the line, the Minnesota Timberwolves turned to a rookie. Randy Foye delivered. The seventh pick in the draft made a runner with 1.8 seconds left, and the Timberwolves escaped with a 100-98 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night after blowing a 25-point lead. Foye, who finished with a career-high 25 points, took the ball from Kevin Garnett and drove to the right side before putting a shot over Kirk Hinrich.
Analysis: Foye has scored in double-figures in five of the past six games. He could be playing a more prominent role in the T-Wolves offense as the season progresses and could be someone worth stashing away on benchs in the meantime.
News: Timberwolves G Randy Foye had looked forward to Sunday night for almost as long as he could remember. After all, the rookie guard's favorite team while growing up was the Philadelphia 76ers. That connection only intensified during Foye's four years at Villanova. So at the Wachovia Center Sunday, Foye faced the team of his allegiance and stared across at 76ers star Allen Iverson. Anticipating some minutes in a matchup with Iverson, Foye had said: "I remember him rocking everybody to sleep with that crossover. Having them on skates. Until they started calling it a 'carry,' it was impossible to guard. He would (stop his dribble) and he'd freeze you and just run past you. If you went for it, he'd cross back over."
Analysis: With dozens of family and friends in attendance, Foye scored eight points with three rebounds and four assists in 22 minutes. He's beginning to earn more minutes. Consider him in larger leagues for now.
News: Randy Foye scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter at Dallas Monday.
Analysis: Foye has scored 32 points total in his past two games and he's beginning to earn more minutes. Consider him in larger leagues for now.
News: Randy Foye's quickness showed Saturday vs. New Orleans, as he was one of the few fellows able to keep in step with Chris Paul. In 15 minutes Foy made three steals and six assists.
Analysis: Foye is scoring just 4.4 ppg and is not yet a reliable Fantasy option. His value is limited to deep keeper formats at this time.
News: Guard Marko Jaric got into a minor scuffle with rookie Randy Foye near the end of Thursday's practice that everyone dismissed as "typical practice stuff." But with Foye's minutes increasing, it's not out of the question that a veteran who is coming off the bench, such as Jaric, might get territorial about his playing time.
Analysis: Foye is averaging just 5.5 ppg, but did manage 13 poiints off the bench on Saturday. Jaric, who scored just six points on Saturday, is averaging just 5.0 ppg. Neither player is recommended as a starter at the moment.
News: Rookie Randy Foye added 13 points against Indiana in a preseason game on Monday.
Analysis: Foye, a guard from Villanova, had scored just 10 points combined in the Timberwolves' two preseason games. Against the Pacers, he shot 3-for-5 from the field and made all seven free throws. Foye will probably be a much better Fantasy player later in the season than early.
News: Rookie Randy Foye scored a team-high 23 points in Thursday's summer league opener against the Kings in Las Vegas. He knocked down nine of his 17 shots.
Analysis: Foye looked mighty good in the game, so remember him when Draft night rolls around. He should be a decent scorer in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Randy Foye was selected by the Boston Celtics in Wednesday's NBA Draft with the seventh pick overall. That pick was traded to the Portland Trailblazers along with veteran Dan Dickau and Raef LaFrentz for Theo Ratliff, Sebastian Telfair and a second-round pick.
Analysis: Foye is an explosive and big-time player, but it is uncertain whether he will be used as a point guard or two guard. He has plenty of chance to grab big-time minutes in his first season as far as Fantasy appeal is concerned and he is already one of the best players on the Portland roster.
