Kings' Rudy Gay goes for 22 points on Wednesday

(1/28/2015) Kings forward Rudy Gay picked up 22 points on Wednesday against the Raptors.

Gay shot 8-17 from the field, including 2-5 from beyond the arc. He sunk four of his five free throw attempts, leading the team with 22 points. Gay also had three rebounds and three assists during the contest.

(1/23/2015) Kings forward Rudy Gay was called for two technical fouls in a matter of moments and was ejected from Friday's game against the Warriors. 

It was Gay's sixth and seventh technicals of the season. He finished with zero points on 0 for 5 shooting with four assists and three rebounds in Friday's game.


Cousins, Gay among Kings probables vs. Nets

(1/20/2015) The Kings have listed center DeMarcus Cousins (ankle), point guard Ramon Sessions (back) and small forwards Rudy Gay (shoulder, knee) and Omri Casspi (eye, knee) as probable for Wednesday's home game against the Nets.

Cousins returned to action Sunday after missing one game due to a right ankle sprain and played 38 minutes while scoring 22 points and grabbing 19 rebounds. Sessions has been sidelined since Dec. 22 due to a lower back sprain and was listed as probable to play Monday before sitting out.

Gay was able to play Friday and Sunday after missing Thursday's game, but he's still suffering from a left shoulder strain and a left knee capsule sprain. Casspi has seen limited action in each of the last three games and is dealing with an eye abrasion and left knee bone contusion.

The Kings also ruled power forward Carl Landry out for Wednesday's game due to a right wrist sprain. It'll be his fourth consecutive game missed.

Sacramento is a 5-point favorite at home against Brooklyn.

(1/19/2015) Kings guard Rudy Gay has been upgraded to probable for Monday's game against the Trail Blazers, according to ESPN. 

Gay is dealing with a left shoulder and left knee sprain. He was initially ruled questionable due to the injuries, but has apparently made progress. Gay was expected to sit out on Saturday due to his ailments, but he wound up playing. He's averaging 20.4 points per game.

Gay is dealing with both a left knee capsule sprain and left shoulder sprain. It was thought that Gay would sit out on Saturday due to his injuries, but he was able to come off the bench and play. Gay is still dinged, and it's unclear if he'll be able to go on Monday.

Gay was a gametime decision for Saturday's game while dealing with a knee injury. He wasn't on the floor for tipoff but played 34 minutes off the bench, tallying five rebounds and three assists while also making all eight of his free-throw attempts. The Kings take a three-game losing streak into Monday's matchup with the Blazers.

Cousins is dealing with an ankle injury while Gay is still hampered by a knee injury, which forced him to miss Friday's game.

Gay is dealing with a knee sprain, and was unable to take part in practice on Thursday. An MRI revealed the issue earlier in the week, and it appears Gay will need more time to rest before he's ready to return.

Gay has been listed as day to day moving forward, leaving his status uncertain for Friday's contest against Miami.

The Kings are 4 1/2-point home favorites against Miami.

Gay appears to have escaped major injury after suffering the knee sprain Tuesday, and he's considered day-to-day moving forward. The Kings have two days off before hosting the Heat Friday.

(12/29/2014) Kings small forward Rudy Gay led the team with 25 points on 9 for 21 shooting in Sacramento's 107-99 loss Monday to Brooklyn.

Gay also had nine rebounds, five assists and two steals for the Kings. It was the fifth time this year Gay has pulled down nine rebounds while only reaching double figures just one time.

He and the Kings will look to bounce back Wednesday against the Celtics.

Center DeMarcus Cousins is questionable to play against the Bucks. He has been sidelined since Nov. 26 while dealing with viral meningitis.

Gay struggled with his shot for the second straight game after making just 22.2 percent of his 18 shots Thursday but was able to sink a season-high four three-pointers while matching Thursday's eight rebounds and eight assists Saturday. The Kings take a three-game losing streak into Tuesday's matchup against the Thunder.

(12/6/2014) Kings small forward Rudy Gay scored a team-high 27 points on 10 of 20 shooting in his team's 102-101 overtime win over the Pacers Friday.

Gay attempted a game-winning shot with the Kings down one point and only seconds to go that didn't fall in, but teammate Carl Landry cleaned it up with the offensive rebound and putback to put his team up one point with less than a second remaining. The Pacers' last-ditch effort came up short, allowing the Kings to snap a three-game losing streak.

Gay kicked in five rebounds and five assists in his 30 minutes of action, making his only three-point shot as well as all six of his free-throw attempts. The 10 made shots were his most since the second game of the season. Gay is set to square off with the Magic Satuday.
