Gibson shot 2 for 6 from the field (2 for 5 from downtown) and hit two key free throws late in the game to seal the 101-100 win. Gibson finished with eight points, one steal, three blocks, three assists and four boards in his 37 minutes on the court.
Analysis: Gibson hasn't been able to get going this season as he's averaging just 7.7 points and 3.7 rebounds over his last three games. He's still hitting 3-pointers, but barely enough to warrant any Fantasy attention. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a low-end guard option in deeper category-based formats.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson is expected to suit up for Tuesday's game against Denver, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Gibson, who is averaging 8.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game this season, has missed the past two outings while battling a sprained left ankle.
Analysis: Gibson has been able to practice after suffering the ankle injury last Wednesday and wasn't expected to miss much playing time. He has had trouble staying healthy this season and that has affected his shooting (37.2 percent). Consider him a marginal option in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson practiced on Saturday, but he was unable to play on Sunday against Sacramento as he continues to deal with a sprained left ankle.
Analysis: Gibson appears to be close to getting back on the court, but he will not return until Tuesday against Detroit at the earliest. Fantasy owners in daily formats should obviously keep Gibson in reserve for Sundays game and keep an eye on his health moving forward. While Boobie has had a hard time staying healthy this season, he can be a decent source for 3-pointers when he is able to stay on the court. Consider the 25-year-old a low-end option in deeper formats, when healthy.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson was able to practice on Saturday, but remains officially listed as questionable heading into Sunday's contest against the Kings, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Gibson, who has sprained his left ankle last Wednesday, said his ankle loosened up a bit during his workout.
Analysis: Gibson appears to be close to getting back on the court, but he will likely be more of a game-time decision on Sunday. Fantasy owners in daily formats should keep an eye on his status leading up until tipoff. While Boobie has had a hard time staying healthy this season, he can be a decent source for 3-pointers when he is able to stay on the court. Consider the 25-year-old a low-end option in deeper formats, when healthy.
News: Prior to Friday's contest against Miami, Cavaliers coach Byron Scott confirmed that guard Daniel Gibson (ankle) would not play in the game. Gibson sprained his left ankle on Wednesday, and while Scott told the Akron Beacon Journal that Gibson is feeling better, he would not play until Sunday at the earliest. Alonzo Gee is expected to receive the start at shooting guard.
Analysis: Gibson has played in the team's last four games after missing time with a neck injury, so it's unfortunate to see him back on the shelf so quickly. Gibson remains inconsistent from one night to the next, so he is a low-end Fantasy option when active.
News:The Plain Dealer reports Cavs guard Daniel Gibson (ankle) has been downgraded to doubtful for Friday's game against the Heat. Gibson sprained his left ankle on Wednesday. He had two X-rays and both came back negative. He will not require an MRI. Alonso Gee is expected to start at shooting guard on Friday.
Analysis: Gibson played the last four games after missing time with a neck injury, so it's unfortunate to see him back on the shelf so quickly. Gibson remains inconsistent from one night to the next, so he is a low-end Fantasy option when active.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson left Wednesday's game against the Pacers due to a left ankle sprain and did not return. He scored eight points with three assists, two rebounds and a block in 21 minutes on the court. Gibson, who twisted his ankle during Cleveland's previous contest, left the arena in a walking boot and is being considered day to day. "It's frustrating," Gibson said. "It hurts badly. I've had this before. Hopefully I can heal quicker from it."
Analysis: Gibson has been playing better of late, averaging 12.2 points over his last four games, and X-rays came back negative on his ankle so owners should keep an eye on his status going forward. The Cavs do not play again until Friday so hopefully the day off does him some good. After putting up a career-high 11.6 points a year ago, Gibson has been a bit of a disappointment so far this season and should be considered a low-end Fantasy option when healthy.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson did not practice on Monday due to an ankle injury,l reports the Akron Beacon Journal. Gibson twisted his ankle during Cleveland's loss to the 76ers last Saturday night. However, coach Byron Scott said the injury isn't being considered serious and Gibson should be able to play on Wednesday night.
Analysis: Scott went on to say Gibson could have played if there was a game on Monday, so his injury really doesn't seem to be all that serious at this point. Still, Fantasy owners would be wise to keep an eye on his status moving forward, just to be on the safe side. Gibson has played pretty well since returning from his neck infection and has been seeing increased minutes with Kyrie Irving sidelined. Consider Boobie a low-end Fantasy option in most formats, when healthy.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson was able to turn in another solid performance during Friday night's contest against the Bucks. Gibson, who earned another start at shooting guard with Kyrie Irving still sidelined with a concussion, finished with 17 points in the 113-112 victory, on 7 of 12 shooting from the field. He went 2 for 4 from downtown and also chipped in with eight assists and six rebounds, while logging 42 minutes.
Analysis: Gibson was able to turn in his second straight strong performance for the Cavaliers as the 25-year-old has looked very sharp since returning from his neck injury. It appears he has finally re-discovered his shooting stroke after making just 35 percent of his shots to start the year, so hopefully he can keep things going moving forward. He should continue to start while Irving is sidelined, but should see his minutes increase either way as long as he continues to produce like this. However, until he proves he can produce like this on a consistent basis, owners should consider Boobie merely a low-end option.
News: Cavaliers coach Byron Scott announced prior to Wednesday's game that G Daniel Gibson, who had missed the team's previous five games with a neck injury, would play against the Clippers. In fact, Gibson got the start with Kyrie Irving a surprise inactive due to a concussion. Gibson played well over 36 minutes as he scored 17 points on 6 of 11 shooting with two 3-pointers. Gibson added three rebounds and two assists with two blocks for the Cavaliers in the win.
Analysis: Gibson is recovering from a soft tissue infection in his neck and was even hospitalized last week. This has been an interesting injury already as it was originally deemed not serious, but ended up keeping him out a little longer than expected originally. He's back now and should move forward past this injury. Gibson is averaging just 7.1 points per game this season while marginally contributing in other areas for Cleveland. Fantasy owners should not consider Gibson a worthwhile option in most formats. That said, if Irving misses an extended amount of time, Gibson's value would obviously rise.
News: As expected, Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson did not play in Tuesday night's contest against the Heat due to a neck injury. Gibson has been sidelined since Jan. 29 with a neck infection. He is being considered day to day.
Analysis: Gibson is recovering from a soft tissue infection in his neck and was even hospitalized last week. This has been an interesting injury already as it was originally deemed not serious. Now it is keeping him out a little longer than expected originally. Gibson is averaging just 7.1 points per game this season while marginally contributing in other areas for Cleveland. Fantasy owners should not consider Gibson a worthwhile option in most formats.

Gibson's neck is still bothering him after he was re-examined by a doctor. Gibson did partake in his first practice in 10 days, however, he told doctors there was still some discomfort. He's day to day.

Analysis: Gibson is recovering from a soft tissue infection in his neck and was even hospitalized last week. However, he seems to be past the issue and will suit up Tuesday for the first time since Jan. 27 against New Jersey. The 25-year-old is averaging just 7.1 points per game this season while marginally contributing in other areas for Cleveland. Fantasy owners should not consider Gibson a worthwhile option in most formats.
News: Cleveland team doctors want to re-evaluate Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson (neck) before he can return to the court. Gibson and the Cavs are playing at Miami on Tuesday and don't return home until Wednesday.
Analysis: Gibson has missed four straight games and it could be a fifth before he can return to the court. Gibson's injury is a bit of mystery considering he was expected to return by now. He's recovering from a soft tissue infection in his neck and was even hospitalized last week. He'll need to be checked out by team doctors, and might not be back until the middle of next scoring period. Fantasy owners should keep that in mind. When healthy, Gibson should be viewed as a marginal Fantasy option.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson missed another game on Saturday against Dallas due to his persistent neck infection. Gibson has been unable to practice with the team this week and was out for the fourth straight game.
Analysis: Gibson's neck issue included a trip to the hospital, but he has shown improvement in the area. However, he is not ready to return to game action and improve on his subpar season. He is averaging just 7.1 points per game and should be viewed as a marginal Fantasy option for now.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson will not return to the lineup for Friday's game at Orlando because of a persistent neck infection, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Gibson has been unable to practice with the team this week and will miss his third straight game.
Analysis: Gibson's neck issue included a trip to the hospital, but he has shown improvement in the area. However, he is not ready to return to game action and improve on his subpar season. He is averaging just 7.1 points per game and should be viewed as a marginal Fantasy option for now.
News: Cavs play-by-play announcer Fred McLeod reports Cavs guard Daniel Gibson is getting better range of motion in his injured neck, but his status for Friday's game against the Magic remains in question. Gibson has already missed two games. He attended practice Thursday, but he didn't participate, according to The Plain Dealer.
Analysis: Gibson's scoring is down more than four points per game from last season. He didn't even score in the last game he played on Jan. 27. Gibson is not a very reliable Fantasy option at this time.
News: Cavaliers coach Bryon Scott told reporters on Tuesday that G Daniel Gibson (neck) has been released from a Boston hospital and is on his way back to Cleveland to undergo further testing. Gibson was hospitalized with a neck infection on Sunday and has missed two straight games with his aliment.
Analysis: Details on exactly what Gibson has are a bit sketchy as several sources are reporting different ailments. However, it appears he has some sort of a neck infection and more details should become available over the next few days. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward to see when he will be able to get back on the court. Still, Gibson has yet to find his offensive groove this season, so consider the 25-year-old merely a low-end option, when healthy.
News: Cleveland G Daniel Gibson was ruled out for Tuesday's game against Boston because of a sore neck, according to The Associated Press. FOXSports.com reports he is being treated for a "soft tissue infection" in his neck, and being treated with antibiotics in a Boston hospital. Gibson missed Sunday's outing against the Celtics after waking up with the injury, Cavaliers coach Byron Scott said. He is listed as day to day.
Analysis: Gibson played 25 minutes on Friday against New Jersey and missed all five of his attempts from the field. His offense has been limited and Gibson is averaging just 5.5 ppg over his last five games. Consider Gibson a low-end option in deeper Fantasy formats when healthy.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson missed Sunday's game at Boston with a sore neck, reports NBA.com. Gibson woke up with the injury, according to coach Byron Scott. He has some swelling in the region and is considered day to day for the Cavaliers.
Analysis: Gibson played 25 minutes on Friday against New Jersey and went 0 for 5 in the game as he failed to score. Gibson is averaging just 5.5 PPG over his last five and that comes with 2.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Gibson has low-end Fantasy value in deeper formats, when healthy.
News: Cavsaliers G Daniel Gibson returned to practice Monday after leaving the team last week following a death in the family, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Gibson missed Saturday's game against Atlanta, but is expected to play against Miami on Tuesday.
Analysis: Gibson has gotten off to a sluggish start this season and is averaging 7.4 points per game -- down from his career high of 11.6 from last year. The 25-year-old doesn't contribute in other areas and should only be utilized as a reserve in deeper Fantasy formats for now.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson has been ruled out for Saturday night's game against the Hawks due to personal reasons, according to the team's official website. Gibson is with the team in Atlanta, but the Cavaliers did not offer any further details.
Analysis: This Cavaliers announced Gibson was out just moments prior to tipoff, so this did come as somewhat of a surprise. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the situation moving forward to see when he will be able to get back on the floor. However, Gibson has gotten off to a poor start this season and should only be starting in the deeper formats anyway.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson has scored in single digits in four of his last five games after dropping just two points in a win at Charlotte on Monday afternoon. Gibson played 26 minutes but couldn't hit a single shot as he went 0 for 5 from the field and 0 for 4 from long range. Gibson was horrendous in the win as he didn't have a single rebound, steal or assist.
Analysis: Gibson is getting 25 minutes per game for Cleveland. Unfortunately, he's been absolutely putrid. Gibson is shooting 25 percent from the field over his last five games and that comes with 6.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and fewer than one assist per game. Gibson is barely worth using in any Fantasy format the way he's playing at the moment. He definitely has the upside for more.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson had been shooting the lights out in the first seven games of the season, but he hit a rough patch on Sunday against the Trail Blazers, missing six of his seven shots on the day and only making one out of five three pointers. He would finish the day with just three points, one assist and two turnovers as the Cavs lost 98-78 to Portland.
Analysis: Gibson has yet to find any consistency this season, scoring in double digits just twice, and averaging 8.1 points per game. Hes a three-point sharpshooter who doesnt do much else well on the floor. When he gets hot and gets the opportunity, he can score in bunches, but those chances dont come consistently enough for Fantasy owners to rely on him in any formats as a starter.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson made the most of his time off the bench in Friday's game against the Pacers. He scored six points and hauled in seven rebounds in the 98-91 overtime loss. He went 2 for 4 from the floor, with both of his shots coming from downtown, while playing 19 minutes. Gibson, who had to leave the game briefly due to a finger injury, also had an assist and a blocked shot in the defeat.
Analysis: Gibson has not scored more than eight points through the first three games as the Cavs have been getting their points elsewhere. He averaged a career-high 11.6 points per game last season but with rookie Kyrie Irving now in Cleveland, he will likely see his role take a bit of a hit. Gibson's main value in Fantasy is his 3-point shooting so continue to view him as more of an option for deeper category-based leagues at this point.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson was not much of a factor in Monday night's 104-96 loss to the Raptors. Gibson finished with just six points on 3 of 6 shooting in the loss in 22 minutes off the bench. He also grabbed a defensive rebound in the contest, but did not attempt a shot from downtown.
Analysis: Gibson was not much a factor on Monday night, but that is to be expected to a certain extent with the 25-year-old making the transition to shooting guard. More surprising than anything on Monday night was the fact that he did not attempt a 3-pointer, despite being a career 41.8 percent shooter from beyond the arc. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on how he fares over the next few weeks with his position change. However, Gibson is only worth owning in deeper formats at this point in the season.
News: The 2010-11 regular season is over and now teams are looking for the future. For Cleveland there are a lot of holes to fill by next year. The team has Daniel Gibson, Baron Davis and Ramon Sessions at the point guard spot, and could add another one in the NBA Draft. According to The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Gibson -- a fan favorite and favorite of coach Byron Scott -- could be slid over to shooting guard. Gibson saw action in 67 games for the Cavs as he missed time with a quad, thigh, ankle and shoulder injuries, as well as the flu. Despite his myriad of injuries, Gibson still produced his best year in the NBA. He averaged 11.6 points, 3.0 assists and 2.6 boards in around 27 minutes a game for Cleveland.
Analysis: Needless to say, a lot of things could change between now and the start of the 2011-12 season. Gibson could be buried on the depth chart or be transitioned to shooting guard. That would put more pressure on him, but he's a career 41.8 percent shooter from beyond the 3-point arc. Fantasy owners will want to wait and see where the cards fall in Cleveland. Between his multiple injuries this year and his unknown role next season makes Gibson nothing more than a late-round selection on Draft Day.
News: The Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports Monday that Cavaliers coach Byron Scott admitted he was thinking about changes to the starting lineup. He didn't specify, but three possibilities include Baron Davis for Ramon Sessions, if Davis recovers sufficiently from the back spasms that have been bothering him for a week, Daniel Gibson for Anthony Parker and Christian Eyenga for Alonzo Gee.
Analysis: Gibson started the season playing well before injuries derailed his progress. A possible return to the starting lineup could help him finish strong, but Gibson remains a low-end Fantasy option until proven otherwise. If he returns as a starter and starts playing well then his Fantasy value will rise.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson didn't have the best night shooting the ball on Saturday, but he did contributed for the Cavaliers. He scored 10 points on a 4-for-12 shooting display -- going 2 for 9 from downtown -- and grabbed six rebounds. The speedy guard also chipped in two steals and three assists in his 28 minutes of court time. His efforts wouldn't be enough as the Clippers beat the Cavs again -- this time 100-92.
Analysis: Gibson is having a career year without LeBron James in town, but he isn't producing like many Fantasy owners had hoped. Over his last five games, Gibson is averaging 11.2 points, 2.8 assists and 2.8 boards per contest. He's gone through plenty of slumps this season and been plagued by the injury bug. To say it's been a long year could be an understatement for Gibson for a guard that many Fantasy owners took in Round 10 on Draft Day. At this stage of the season, Gibson is merely a low-end option in deeper category-based Fantasy leagues.
News: After missing three games with a left quadriceps injury, Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson returned in Tuesday's game against the Warriors. He did not set out to do much, taking five shots after combining for 22 in his previous two games he played in. Gibson connected on one shot, a 3-pointer, finishing with just those three points on the night. He assisted on three baskets and secured a rebound in 24 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Gibson took just five shots in his return, but he hadn't been hitting too many shots before he missed the trio of games. He was just 7 of 29 from the floor in his four games before the hiatus. Gibson will go through the mini-slumps being the streaky shooter that he has become in Cleveland. Fantasy owners should not trust him much for that fact and because he remains a reserve on a bad team, though he can be considered a lower option in category-based formats.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson will be available to play in Tuesday's tilt against the Warriors, reports the team's official website. Gibson had missed the previous games with a left quadriceps injury.
Analysis: Gibson was shut down indefinitely last week in order to give his injury time to heal itself, but by all accounts will be ready to play on Tuesday. Still, this has been an issue that has plagues Gibson in the past, so Fantasy owners might want to hold off on activating him until he proves both healthy and productive. Also keep an eye on if his minutes are effected by the addition of Baron Davis and the recent strong play of Ramon Sessions. Gibson can be considered a low-end Fantasy option, when healthy.
News: The Akron Beacon Journal reports that coach Byron Scott expects Daniel Gibson (quadriceps) to play on Tuesday night against Golden State. Gibson has missed the team's last three games.
Analysis: The Cavaliers said last Friday that they would shut Gibson down indefinitely to allow him to recover. It appears he has had enough time, though the Beacon Journal report that Scott said that he would still like to talk to Gibson first. Gibson has dealt with the issue for over two months and Fantasy owners should give him time to prove both healthy and productive before activating him. He will also have to prove viable now that the team has two very capable guards in Baron Davis and Ramon Sessions.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson was ruled inactive for Sunday's contest against the New Hornets with a left quadriceps injury. The team announced earlier in the week Gibson would be shut down indefinitely to give his injury some time to heal. He has now missed three straight games.
Analysis: Gibson has been plagued by this issue before and the team wants to keep him on the shelf for a while to let his injury heal. There has been no official timetable announced for his return, which means he will be a very shaky play for Fantasy Week 20 (March 7-13). Leave him on the bench until he proves healthy.
News: The News-Herald of Ohio reports that Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson has been shut down indefinitely with a left quadriceps injury. "We want to hold him back for a few more days," coach Byron Scott said. "We want to go three or four days with no contact to try and get that thing to calm down." Gibson will not play Friday night at New York and is likely out Sunday against New Orleans as well.
Analysis: Continue to monitor what happens with Gibson and hope he can return soon. When healthy, he has minimal Fantasy value going forward, especially with Baron Davis ready to play and Ramon Sessions playing at a high level.
News: The reports Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson (quad) will miss Friday's game against the Knicks, and he is already begin called questionable for Sunday's tilt with the Hornets.
Analysis: Gibson has been bothered by the issue before, and he missed Wednesday's loss to the Spurs as a result. He's averaging better than eight points and three assists per game over his last eight tries, so he's not much of a Fantasy commodity anyway moving forward. Gibson has some deeper value in categorical leagues for his ability to shoot from long-range. Otherwise, he is just a marginal Fantasy option when healthy.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson sat out Wednesday's game against the Spurs with a quad injury. This is something that has bothered Gibson since before the season, but he hasn't been on the injury report because of it. The team is considering him day to day.
Analysis: Gibson has struggled recently, despite having a career year. Over his last eight games Gibson is averaging 8.1 points and 3.4 assists per contest. With LeBron James in Miami, the fifth-year guard has stepped up at times this season. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on this quad injury as it's supposedly bothered him all year. When healthy, Gibson provides a decent source of 3-pointers in deeper category-based Fantasy leagues.
News: The Knicks made a late rally on Friday night, cutting the score to 107-105 with 49 seconds left in the game. But that's when Cleveland's Daniel Gibson hit the game's biggest shot, drilling a 3-pointer with 30 seconds remaining. Gibson, who recently missed a game to tend to a personal matter, scored just eight points on Friday. He shot 3 for 10 from the field -- 2 for 7 from downtown -- in his 23 minutes off the bench. He added four assists for the Cavaliers, which beat the Knicks for the second time this season, 115-109.
Analysis: Gibson hasn't been too productive lately for the Cavaliers. In his last 10 games he's averaging 8.0 points, 3.2 assists and shooting 38.5 percent from the field. Those numbers aren't good for a lot of Fantasy owners out there. He has the potential to score -- which he displayed at the beginning of the season -- but hasn't shown us much recently. Now that he's back with the team Fantasy owners should view Gibson as a low-end guard option in deeper formats. If he gets hots, he'd garner more attention in shallower leagues.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson missed practice Tuesday to tend to personal matters and could not return in time to play in Wednesday's game against the Rockets. Gibson should return for Friday's tilt against New York.
Analysis: Gibson has lost value since a hot start early in the season, but he could pick it up following the All-Star break. He'll miss this one game, but it appears safe to keep him active in daily leagues, and we consider Gibson a low-end Fantasy option until he starts performing at a high level again.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson did not appear to be too healthy at the end of Wednesday's huge win over the Lakers. Gibson shot just 1 for 6 from the field over 22 minutes in the game and entered with a quad injury. He appeared hobbled during the game and scored just three points with three turnovers and three assists.
Analysis: Gibson played through the pain and finished Wednesday's game. With the All-Star break coming up, he should be fine once play resumes. He was averaging 9.1 points and 2.6 assists per game over his previous 10 and can be utilized in deeper Fantasy leagues, when healthy and playing well.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson (quadriceps) will play in the Cavaliers' game against the Lakers on Wednesday, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. Gibson, who was listed as a game-time decision, left Cleveland's game against Washington after re-aggravating a troublesome quad injury.
Analysis: Cavaliers coach Byron Scott hinted that Gibson was limited after the team's shootaround Wednesday morning, but appears healthy enough to play in the team's final game before the All-Star break. The reserve guard is averaging 12.8 points and 3.1 assists this season and should be viewed as a mid-range Fantasy option in deeper leagues.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson (quadriceps) will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against the Lakers. "At shootaround, we really didn't get up and down,'' coach Byron Scott said. "We just did a bunch of shooting and went over the Lakers stuff, went over some things defensively. When he comes out before games, he gets a pretty good lather, so we'll see how he feels after that.''
Analysis: Gibson has dealt with a bothersome quad for some time now and he re-aggravated the injury on Sunday. He is averaging 9.1 points and 2.6 assists over his last five games, so there really isn't any rush to get him back active again until he can prove productive again.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson was able to return to the practice court on Tuesday, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Coach Bryon Scott said Gibson "looked pretty good" during practice and anticipates the shooting guard will still be able to participate in the 3-point contest during All-Star weekend. "I think he should do it," Scott said. "I think that'll be great for him. He shot it pretty good today. Unless he gets hurt tomorrow -- if he plays -- there's a good chance Saturday he'll be OK." Gibson is still listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Lakers.
Analysis: Gibson has had problems with his left quad earlier in the season and he seemed to re-aggravate the injury during Sunday's loss to the Wizards. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his status moving forward, although it's possible the team just sits him until after the break. Gibson is having a career-year in Cleveland and can be considered solid low-end Fantasy guard in most formats, when healthy.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson left Sunday's contest against the Wizards with an apparent leg injury. Gibson played nine minutes in the first half, but ran back into the locker room after warming up following halftime with a trainer. Gibson was diagnosed with a strained left quadriceps and did not return to the contest. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: Gibson missed a few games a couple of weeks back with a left quad injury, and now it appears the bothersome quad has acted up again. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his status moving forward, although with the Cavaliers playing just one game prior to the All-Star game, the team could chose to just shut him down until after the break. Stay tuned for the latest updates. Gibson is having a career-year in Cleveland and can be considered solid low-end Fantasy guard in most formats, when healthy.
News: Fresh off of being named as one of the participants in the 3-point contest during All-Star weekend, Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson buried four shots from long-range in Wednesday's historic loss to the Pistons. He finished the night with 12 points off of the bench, all on the makes from beyond the arc. Gibson added two assists, a rebound and his first block since January 22 on the night, during his 31 minutes of paying time.
Analysis: Gibson has seen a nice boost in stats this year as he supplies the long-ball off of the bench for the Cavs, who tied the 1976-77 Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL as the only franchises in pro sports history to lose 26 straight games on Wednesday. Still, Gibson is having a career-year, averaging 13 points per game to go along with more than three assists each night. He was dealing with a quad issue and missed some games because of personal reasons as well, though those issues seem behind him. Gibson should be considered a low-end guard option in deeper category-based formats for his solid 3-point marksmanship.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson was back with the team on Saturday night after missing the last three games due to a quad injury and personal reasons. He would shoot 5 for 11 from the field -- converting 2 of his 5 shots from downtown -- and finished with 12 points. Gibson was one of seven Cavs in double figures, but the team would lose for the 24th straight time as the Trail Blazers prevailed, 111-105. Gibson added a rebound and nine assists in his 26 minutes of action.
Analysis: Gibson averaged 12.0 points, 3.8 assists and 1.9 rebounds in the month of January before he injured his quad. Now that he's back with the team, Gibson can continue his career year. He's missed 11 games this season, so owners may want to wait and see how he holds up for Week 16 (Feb. 7-13) before tossing him back in those Fantasy lineups. When healthy, Gibson should be considered a low-end guard option in deeper category-based formats.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson, who left the team Friday in Memphis to return to Cleveland for personal reasons, will be in uniform for Saturday's contest against the Blazers. Gibson has missed the last three games with a quad injury.
Analysis: Gibson is having a career year for the Cavs, but unfortunately the team is in a very long losing streak. Gibson has missed 11 games this season after playing in just 56 games last season. Owners should keep him reserved until he's healthy enough to return to the court. When he's healthy Gibson is worth using in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: According to The News-Herald, Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson was sent home from Memphis to attend a personal matter. Gibson was listed on the injury report with a bruised left quad. Cleveland hosts Portland on Saturday, and he's likely going to be a game-time decision.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson is questionable for Friday night's game at Memphis with a bruised left quad. "We'll see where he is tonight,'' coach Byron Scott said. "He's going to get more treatment, and hopefully by tonight, he'll go from questionable to being able to play. Right now he's a game-time decision."
Analysis: Gibson is having a career season scoring-wise with LeBron James gone, but he can't seem to stay fully healthy. After playing only 56 games last season, Gibson has missed 10 games this season and could miss another Friday. When he's playing, Gibson is worth using in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson (quadriceps) was ruled out for Wednesday's game against Indiana. Coach Byron Scott announced the decision after the team's morning shootaround. Scott said it was possible Gibson could play Friday at Memphis or Saturday against Portland. "He wants to play,'' Scott said. "You've got to give him a lot of credit for trying for two games to go with it the way it was, but he really couldn't move out there."
Analysis: Scott said the team thought it best to shut him down in order to let him get the swelling completely down. If he can show that he can start running without any pain, he will be cleared to play. Gibson missed Monday's game against the Heat and it was reported that he might miss a "few" games before returning. Continue to monitor his progress. When healthy, Gibson has made for a decent low-end play as a possible mid-teens scorer with decent contributions from beyond the arc. He is averaging 13 points, three rebounds and three assists per game this season.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson missed Monday's game against the Heat and should miss the next few games for the Cavaliers, according to coach Byron Scott prior to Monday's affair. "He'll probably be out the next couple of games," Scott said. "We'll see how he feels tomorrow. I'm pretty doubtful he'll play Wednesday."
Analysis: Gibson has had a few impressive lines for Cleveland over his last five games, but he's also had some stinkers. Now that Gibson is going to miss some time, Fantasy owners should keep him reserved. On most occasions, Gibson is a solid Fantasy option in deeper leagues.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson came off the bench in Sunday's contest against the Magic, but he could not finish the game. He played 24 minutes and scored four points on 2 of 9 shooting, but left the game with a sore left quadriceps. He missed all three of his attempts from downtown and finished with two assists and one rebound in the 103-87 loss. Coach Byron Scott called Gibson "a warrior" for playing with an injury he said was bothering him before Sunday's game. He is day-to-day, but Scott said the injury could sideline him for a few games.
Analysis: Manny Harris got the start over Gibson on Sunday as Scott tried to inject some life in his club. It didn't work and Gibson might miss a few games because of his injury. Gibson is averaging 10.4 points with three assists and 2.2 rebounds over his last five contests but Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status heading into the upcoming scoring period. He appears to be an injury risk for Week 15 (Jan. 31-Feb. 6) but he has been playing through this quad injury and might be able to tough it out. Gibson remains a viable option in deeper leagues for his three-point shooting and ability to score, but you might want to go with a more reliable option in larger formats.
News: The Akron Beacon Journal reports that Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson's sore left ankle is at about 80 percent. The injury is affecting Gibson's explosiveness and ability to get to the basket.
Analysis: Gibson will continue to play through this injury with all the banged-up guards in Cleveland, and he should remain a starter as long as this problem doesn't limit him any more than he has. Get him active in more than 39 percent of leagues.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson joined the starting lineup on Monday night against the Nets, sending Manny Harris to the bench. Gibson joined Ramon Sessions in the starting five and that is likely the backcourt that the Cavaliers are going to stick with going forward. He scored 19 points on 6 of 10 shooting in the 103-101 loss. Gibson, who played 39 minutes, went 2 for 4 from downtown and converted 5 of 7 free throws. He also chipped in with five assists, three rebounds and a steal in the defeat.
Analysis: Gibson returned from a sprained ankle and was put on the bench as the Cavaliers wanted him to get back into rhythm while starting the rookies. Gibson has proven healthy and effective over his last couple games. He's scoring in double figures and adding decent assist numbers and 3-point shooting as well. Starting again, Gibson should be active in far more Fantasy leagues at this point.
News: The Akron Beacon-Journal reports that if Cavaliers guard Ramon Sessions (abdominal strain) is out for Tuesday's game at Boston then Daniel Gibson will start at point guard. Gibson started in Saturday's loss at Chicago and finished with 10 points, five assists and two rebounds.
Analysis: Gibson is still working his way back from an ankle injury, but the more opportunity he gets the better he will be. When healthy, Gibson is a decent reserve option in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson started and scored 10 points in the Cavaliers' 92-79 loss at Chicago on Saturday night. Gibson connected on 3 of 12 shots from the field, including 2 of 6 from 3-point range, as he finished with double digits for the third consecutive game. Gibson, who was starting in place of guard Manny Harris, added five assists and two rebounds in 40 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: It's unclear how many opportunities Gibson will get in the starting lineup but Cleveland coach Byron Scott will attempt different scenarios for the Cavaliers, who have now lost 16 games in a row. Gibson is a decent shooter and is averaging 13.8 points per game this season. He can run the point effectively and five-plus assists in a game six times while mainly playing in a reserve role. Keep him active in deeper leagues while monitoring his playing time.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson will remain as a reserve off the bench for the time being.
Analysis: Gibson will relieve Ramon Sessions at the point and likely see some time at shooting guard as well behind Manny Harris. His Fantasy numbers have been steady since the beginning of December, and Gibson should be activated in 12-team formats for Fantasy Week 14 (Jan. 24-30).
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson was able to return from a sprained left ankle on Wednesday night against the Suns. Gibson came off the bench with Ramon Sessions and Manny Harris starting at guard. Still, he played 30 minutes -- one minute more than Harris -- and shot 6 of 13 from the field to score 16 points -- six more than Harris. Gibson hit four 3-pointers and added two blocked shots.
Analysis: Cleveland should be starting Gibson alongside Sessions and we expect that to be the case shortly. Coach Byron Scott just wanted to make sure his guard was healthy by having come off the bench. Healthy Gibson was on Wednesday. He's worth using in most Fantasy leagues now that he's back in action.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that PG Daniel Gibson, who missed his team's recent West Coast trip with a sprained left ankle, will return to action Wednesday against the Suns. "I'm ready to go,'' Gibson said. "I had two great days of practice, so I'm looking forward to the opportunity to get out there and play.''
Analysis: When healthy, Gibson was averaging 13.7 points and 3.1 assists per game on the year with almost two 3-pointers per night. He's worth using in deeper Fantasy leagues consistently, so get him back active if you haven't already. Cleveland plays four times in Fantasy Week 14 (Jan. 24-30).
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson was able to practice on his injured ankle Tuesday for the second consecutive day, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Gibson is expected to play on Wednesday against the Phoenix Suns. He is listed as probable for the game.
Analysis: Gibson has said he will "definitely" return for Wednesday's game and thus far there is nothing to suggest otherwise. Gibson won't miss any time during the Week 13 scoring period, though we don't blame anyone for sitting him with Cleveland only playing three games this week. When healthy, Gibson was averaging 13.7 points and 3.1 assists per game on the year with almost two 3-pointers per night. He's worth using in deeper Fantasy leagues consistently.
News: The Akron Beacon Journal reports that the Cavaliers "hope" to have Daniel Gibson (ankle) back in their lineup for their next game on Wednesday against Phoenix. Gibson has missed five consecutive games and seven of eight January games.
Analysis: While the Cavs are "hopeful," but that is far from a guarantee that he will be back. With official word on his status not likely to come until Wednesday, Fantasy owners are advised to go with healthy alternatives in weekly formats for Week 13 (Jan. 17-23). When healthy this season, Gibson has averaged 13.7 points, 3.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds. That has made him a viable low-end starter in most formats.
News: The Akron Beacon-Journal reports that Cavaliers coach Byron Scott said that guard Daniel Gibson is not expected to play Friday night at Utah or Saturday at Denver. Gibson has been dealing with an injured ankle and has been out for the past three games and five of the past six outings.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues should expect Gibson to miss the next two games. But continue to monitor his status and hope he can return at 100 percent health for Fantasy Week 13. His likely return date is Wednesday against Phoenix. When healthy, Gibson is a quality Fantasy option in deeper leagues and decent reserve in standard formats. Gibson is having a career year, averaging 13.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
News: The Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports that Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson practiced with the team Thursday, but he is still unlikely to play Friday at Utah or Saturday at Denver. Gibson has been dealing with an injured ankle and has been out for the past three games and five of the past six outings.
Analysis: Continue to monitor Gibson's status and hope he can return at 100 percent health for Fantasy Week 13. His likely return date is Wednesday against Phoenix. When healthy, Gibson is a quality Fantasy option in deeper leagues and decent reserve in standard formats. Gibson is having a career year, averaging 13.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson flew out to meet up with the team on Tuesday night, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. Gibson was expected to miss the entire five-game road trip, but might have a shot at playing Friday at Utah or Saturday at Denver. Gibson sprained his left ankle last week and was supposed to stay in Cleveland for treatment while his teammates were on the road.
Analysis: Gibson is having a career year, averaging 13.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists. With LeBron James in Miami, Gibson has tried to step up and fill the void left by James. Despite the chance of Gibson playing this week, how much he plays and how effective he plays makes him a risky play in daily leagues. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor him through the week to see how close his ankle is to 100 percent. When healthy, Gibson is a good source of 3-pointers in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson (ankle) will miss the entire five-game road trip that Cleveland starts Friday at Golden State. He sprained his left ankle in Wednesday's loss to Toronto. The team said in a release Thursday night that Gibson underwent an MRI that confirmed the sprain. He will remain in Cleveland getting treatment. "When I say we're going to miss him, it's not only on the offensive end, believe me," coach Byron Scott told The Cleveland Plain Dealer. "He does so many good things on the defensive end, as well." Manny Harris will be inserted into the starting lineup in Gibson's place.
Analysis: Gibson is having a career season now that LeBron James is out of town, averaging 13.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists, and so his presence will be missed for Week 12 (Jan. 10-16) in deeper leagues. He has only missed three games this season with injuries, but has a history of getting banged up, so his owners shouldn't be too surprised at this news.
News: Cavs guard Daniel Gibson came into Wednesday's game against the Raptors with a thigh issue, but he left the contest midway through the third quarter with an ankle injury. Gibson did not return, but finished the night with 13 points in 29 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Gibson had missed his team's last two games and three of the last five with the thigh problem, and now he suffers an apparent ankle sprain which could sideline him further. We'll have more on the injury as it develops, but the injuries are hindering what is a career year for Gibson. He's averaging 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists each night, but may be restricted initially upon his return. We recommend healthy alternatives until Gibson can prove healthy and productive again.
News: The Akron Beacon Journal reports that Cavaliers coach Byron Scott confirmed on Wednesday morning that Daniel Gibson (thigh) will play on Wednesday night against Toronto. He had been considered probable.
Analysis: Gibson had missed his team's last two games and three of the last five. Gibson is having a career season so far in 2010, averaging 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists, but may be restricted initially upon his return. We recommend healthy alternatives until Gibson can prove healthy and productive again.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson (thigh) said Tuesday he'll be good to go on Wednesday against the Raptors. Gibson has missed his team's last two games and three of the last five.
Analysis: Gibson is having a career season so far in 2010, averaging 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists, but those numbers still leave him as more of an option in deeper formats than anything when healthy. Hopefully he can get through this week without any further setbacks.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson (thigh) remains day-to-day entering Fantasy Week 11 (Jan. 3-9). He is questionable for his team's next game on Jan. 5 against Toronto. He has missed his team's last two games and three of his last five.
Analysis: The Cavs play on Wednesday, so perhaps Gibson could make an appearance in Week 11 (Jan. 3-9). Cleveland plays three games in the period, but Fantasy owners should be cautious with Gibson. He's only viable in deeper formats when healthy, so owners might want to stick to a healthy alternative for the week. Continue to monitor his progress.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson missed his second straight game with a thigh contusion on Sunday. The Cavaliers guard suffered the injury last Wednesday in the fourth quarter and is being considered day to day by the team.
Continue to monitor his progress through the week.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson missed the Cavaliers' game at Chicago on Saturday after sustaining a left thigh contusion in Wednesday's game. Gibson suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Cleveland's loss at Charlotte. He is considered day-to-day.
Analysis: Saturday's game was just the second Gibson has missed this season. He is averaging 13.7 points and 3.0 assists per game this season while attempting to fill the scoring production of the departed LeBron James. Keep an eye on his status and when healthy, he should be considered only in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson left Wednesday's game against Charlotte with 9:41 left in the game with a left thigh contusion. It was his second game back after missing a game with the flu. He shot 3 for 11 -- 1 for 4 from downtown -- and a perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line, finishing with 11 points. Gibson added one assist in his 23 minutes of court time.
Analysis: Gibson is averaging 13.8 points, 3.0 assists and shooting 83 percent from the foul line this season. The fourth-year guard has stepped up with LeBron James out of town, but the Cavaliers would love to get even more production out of Gibson. Fantasy owners should monitor Gibson heading into the New Year to see how serious this injury is. When healthy, Gibson is worth using in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson was back in action for Cleveland's 110-95 loss to the Magic on Tuesday night after missing the previous game with the flu. Gibson scored 15 points in the defeat on 4 of 8 shooting from the field. He made both of his shots from 3-point land and also chipped in with six rebounds and four assists before fouling out after logging 35 minutes.
Analysis: Gibson has fully taken advantage of the departure of LeBron James as the fourth-year man out of Texas is averaging career highs in every major offensive category this season. Gibson is an excellent source of threes and if he can keep his scoring average up as a starter, he's worth using in most deeper formats at this point.
News: According to the Akron Beacon-Journal , Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson will be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Magic. Gibson missed Sunday's game against the Timberwolves because of the flu.
Analysis: It appears Gibson will be back in the lineup on Tuesday, so Fantasy owners in daily leagues might want to get him active. Gibson is averaging 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists in his last four games and can be considered a low-end Fantasy guard, when healthy.
News:The News-Herald of Northern Ohio reports that Daniel Gibson was sent home on Sunday due to flu-like symptoms, leading to his being inactive for the first time all season. "(Gibson) came in (on Saturday) and looked pretty bad," Cavs coach Byron Scott said. "(Cavs athletic trainer) Max (Benton) sent him home. I don't know if he's contagious or not, but we didn't want everyone else getting it."
Analysis: Gibson's status for Tuesday's game against Orlando is not known. With the flu bug seemingly ripping its way through the NBA, the Cavaliers are wise to play it cautiously with Gibson. However, his tentative status makes him a player to avoid in all weekly Fantasy formats. Gibson is averaging 14.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists in his last four games.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson was held out of Sunday's game against Minnesota. The Akron Beacon Journal reports that he is dealing with flu-like symptoms.
Analysis: Gibson is considered day-to-day. He is averaging 16.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists over his last five games while getting heavy playing time on a consistent basis. He remains a good source for 3-point shooting and steals and remains a worthy play in most formats for Week 10 (Dec. 27-Jan. 2) with the Cavs slated for four games.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson has 10 3-pointers in his last two games. That said, he only scored 11 points two nights ago against the Knicks on 3 of 8 from downtown. On Monday against Utah, Gibson went off for 7 of 8 from 3-point range and a career-high 29 points. Gibson, who's previous career-high for scoring was 28 points last year against Philadelphia, went 8 for 15 from the field overall in the contest. He added four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Analysis: Gibson is averaging 16.2 points per game over his last five and that is with two efforts of 26 and 29 points, respectively. He's totaled just 26 points in the other three contests. Gibson has 15 3-pointers in his last five games but is no guarantee to keep shooting like this. Still, while he has the hot hand, Fantasy owners should take advantage in most deeper formats.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson scored 11 points on Saturday night against the Knicks, but once again struggled from the field. He shot 4 for 20 from the field -- going 3 for 8 from downtown. That follows his 1 for 7 outing against Indiana on Friday. Gibson would add six rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in his 37 minutes of court time. The Cavs would end up beating the Knicks, 109-102.
Analysis: Gibson is averaging 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists over his last five games, but is struggling with his shot. Over that span he's shooting 36.5 percent from the field (23 for 63). While he has his moments in the spotlight, Gibson doesn't do enough on a consistent basis to be considered a must-start Fantasy option. Owners in deeper leagues should keep viewing him as a low-end guard option while he struggles to find the range.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson scored a season-high 26 points in Wednesday's 101-95 loss to the Heat. He shot 10 for 16 from the field -- going 4 for 7 from behind the arc -- and connecting on 2 of his 3 foul shots. Gibson would add three rebounds, four assists and a steal before fouling out of the game. He logged 39 minutes for the Cavs.
Analysis: Gibson is shooting the ball well right now -- 45 percent from the field and 54 percent from downtown. Over his last five games Gibson is averaging 15.8 points, 2.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds per outing. If Gibson can keep producing like this he'll warrant more attention in Fantasy leagues. But until he does this on a consistent basis he will remain a low-end guard option.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson (stomach virus) was given the green light for Saturday's game at Houston. He arrived in Houston early Saturday afternoon.
Analysis: Gibson is a low-end Fantasy play, despite having every opportunity to excel in Cleveland. He can score and has a good stroke from downtown, which is where is value lies. Owners should monitor him before setting those Week 8 (Dec. 13-19) lineups, but he should be fine. Gibson is a guard option in deeper Fantasy leagues, when healthy.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson has come down with a stomach virus, along with teammate Ryan Hollins, and is questionable to play in Saturday's game at Houston. Gibson will be in Houston but will be a game-time decision, reports the Akron Beacon Journal.
Analysis: Gibson didn't fly with the Cavaliers to Texas on Friday but is with the team as of Saturday. He will be a game-time decision. He scored 14 points with eight rebounds in his last game against the Bulls. Gibson is averaging around 13-15 points per game with over three boards and assists. He's done well from long distance and is worth a look in deeper Fantasy leagues, when healthy.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson, who started at shooting guard Wednesday against the Bulls, figures to remain in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future, according to the Akron Beacon-Journal. ''I'm going to stick with everything I pretty much did [Wednesday] for a little while,'' coach Byron Scott said. Gibson had 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes Wednesday.
Analysis: Gibson has been a consistent scorer and a decent source of assists off the bench for the Cavaliers this season. His minutes should only be more consistent as a starter, giving him the potential for even better numbers. He won't get the assists of a typical point guard, but he should get more than the average shooting guard. And obviously, he'll hit plenty of 3-pointers. He's worth using as a No. 3 or 4 Fantasy guard.
News: Cleveland started Daniel Gibson on Wednesday against the Bulls with Joey Graham moving back to the bench. Gibson played 37 minutes but didn't exactly shoot very well in the Chicago win. Gibson scored 14 points on 4 of 16 shooting as he went 2 for 7 from long range. He added eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block with a nice all-around effort despite the cold shooting.
Analysis: Gibson scored 16 points on 6 of 10 shooting with four 3-pointers on Tuesday in Philadelphia and that may have helped earn him the starting nod. He's clearly going to have added value now that he's starting, but he's also going to have to start shooting more consistently. Gibson is an excellent source of threes and if he can keep his scoring average up as a starter, he's worth using in most deeper formats now.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson continues to play well and nailed four 3-pointers on Tuesday in a loss at Philadelphia. Gibson got 26 minutes on the floor and shot 6 of 10 overall from the field to score 16 points. He dished out three assists as well.
Analysis: Gibson is averaging over a full point-per-game more over his last five games than over his season average. He's hit 11 3-pointers in his last five games and has 36 on the year over 21 contests. Gibson is an excellent source of threes and if he can keep his scoring average up, he's worth using in most deeper formats.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson was the leading scorer for his team on Thursday night against the Heat. He posted a season-high 21 points on 6 of 14 shooting in the 118-90 loss. Gibson, who played 28 minutes, went 4 for 6 from downtown and made 5 of 7 free throws. He also had four rebounds, two assists and a steal in the defeat.
Analysis: Gibson hit a bit of a rough patch but has scored in double figures in eight of his last 10 contests and continues to be a solid contributor off the bench for Cleveland. While he is shooting just 40 percent from beyond the arc, he is averaging a career-high 13.5 points with 3.4 rebounds while playing 27 minutes per game. With Minnesota, Detroit and Philadelphia up next on the schedule for Gibson, continue to view the 24-year-old as a viable option in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson scored in double figures for the first time in three games on Tuesday in a loss to Boston. The backup point guard played 24 minutes and missed only one shot, going 5 for 6 from the field and 1 for 2 from long range. He scored 16 points and added two rebounds and two assists with a block.
Analysis: Gibson is getting just under 13 PPG on the year but that has been lower of late, despite Tuesday's effort. Cleveland, in general, has been so erratic this season that it makes it hard to count on anyone's production, especially Gibson. If his shot is on, he'll have a solid game. Otherwise, he makes it tough to trust outside deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Cavilers G Daniel Gibson returned from a shoulder injury on Friday night against the Magic but he did not have his finest shooting performance. He went just 2 for 8 from the field, finishing with four points in the 111-100 loss. Gibson went 0 for 3 from downtown while playing 30 minutes off the bench. He also had six rebounds and three assists in the defeat.
Analysis: Gibson left Wednesday's game with the left shoulder injury and had been playing extremely well before Friday's poor performance. He is still averaging 13.3 points per game, a career high, and has definitely benefited from LeBron James now being on South Beach. He was able to play 30-plus minutes in Friday's loss, which shows that his shoulder must be feeling better, but hopefully the injury will not hinder his shooting stroke. Gibson is worth using in deeper category-based formats but see how he does over the weekend before making him active for Week 6 (Nov. 29-Dec. 5).
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson showed no ill effects of his sore shoulder during Fridays shootaround, according to Cavs coach Byron Scott. Scott said Gibson will be able to play his normal minutes. He left Wednesdays game against the Bucks with a left shoulder injury.
Analysis: Gibson has been averaging 14.2 points per game on the year, a career high. He's scoring a bit more now that LeBron James is in Miami. Gibson is a nice player and good source of 3-pointers. He's worth using in deeper category-based formats when healthy. It'd be wise to keep an eye on him over the weekend to see how he plays.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson left Wednesday's game against the Bucks with a left shoulder injury. Gibson, who played 23 minutes, went to the locker room and eventually returned for the end of the contest. Gibson shot 5 for 11 from the field and scored 12 points. He added four rebounds, two assists and a 3-pointer.
Analysis: Gibson has been playing extremely well lately and is averaging 14.2 points per game on the year, a career high. His role has improved with LeBron James down in South Beach and the 24-year-old could start vying for more minutes if he's healthy. He returned on Wednesday so we're not sure he's too badly injured. That said, he could certainly wake up on Thursday morning and not feel well.
News: Cavilers G Daniel Gibson entered Saturday's game against the Spurs having scored double-digit points in six of his last seven outings. He continued that trend, scoring 17 points on 6 of 10 shooting in the 116-92 loss to San Antonio. Gibson, who played 29 minutes, finished second on Cleveland in scoring and went 3 for 4 from beyond the arc. He also made both of his free-throw attempts. Gibson finished with one rebound, two assists and a blocked shot in the defeat.
Analysis: Gibson has been playing extremely well lately and is averaging 14.1 points per game on the year, a career high. His role has improved with LeBron James down in South Beach and the 24-year-old could start vying for more minutes. Continue to track his stats over the next week or two to see if he can keep up this production but keep Gibson active in deeper leagues heading into Week 5 (Nov. 22-28).
News: After scoring a season-low five points on Wednesday, Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson got back on track against the Pacers on Saturday, scoring 15 points in a loss to Indiana. He shot 4 of 11 from the field, including 1 of 4 from downtown. Gibson also chipped in with four rebounds and an assist in 27 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Gibson continues to play significant minutes in Cleveland's backcourt, and his numbers are reflective of it. He's averaging a solid 13 points per game to compliment four assists and a steal through the first nine games. Expect his numbers to fluctuate a bit as the season progress, but for now he remains a decent low-end Fantasy option.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson, who left the team for personal reasons, was back with the team on Tuesday and scored 14 points in the 93-91 win over the Nets. Gibson saw 28 minutes of action off the bench and shot 5 of 10 from the floor. He went 4 of 5 from downtown and also had four dimes and a rebound in the victory.
Analysis: Gibson continues to play a significant role in the Cavaliers' backcourt this season and is seeing good minutes, despite coming off the bench. His numbers have not taken a hit since the return of Mo Williams and if he continues to produce at the level he is now, Gibson's Fantasy stock will be on the rise. Consider him a low-end Fantasy guard in most formats at this point.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson left the team for personal reasons, but that he is expected to be with the team for their next game in New Jersey on Tuesday. Gibson has scored 19 or more points in three of his last four games.
Analysis: Gibson is playing a significant role in the team's back court this season and he has been able to maintain the pace even with the return of Mo Williams. He is averaging a very solid 14-4-4 stat line over his last five games to go with over a steal per game and his usual 3-point contributions. He should be a safe play and -- right now -- looks like a strong one.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson was red hot in Friday's 123-116 win over the Sixers. Gibson scored 22 points on 6 of 9 shooting and even scored 10 straight points at one point for the Cavaliers. He had 17 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter and also chipped in with five rebounds, four assists and a steal in the victory.
Analysis: Gibson has played extremely well overt the first five games of the season. He continues to be the spark off the bench for the Cavaliers and is averaging 28 minutes a game thus far. There is some concern that his minutes will decrease now that Mo Williams is back from his groin injury, but so far that has not been the case. While he can be extremely streaky at times, "Boobie" has been producing enough to a be considered a low-end Fantasy guard in deeper leagues.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson continued his hot start to the season in Saturday's game against the Kings. Gibson poured in 20 points in the 107-104 loss on 8 of 16 shooting from the floor. He went 3 of 6 from behind the arc and missed a desperation attempt from half court that would have tied the game as time expired. Gibson played 31 minutes off the bench and finished with seven dimes, two steals and a pair of rebounds.
Analysis: Gibson has gotten off to a great start this season for the Cavaliers. Even though he has been used off the bench, Gibson has played nearly 30 minutes a game and has been extremely productive. However, Gibson's minutes will likely be reduced with the return of Mo Williams on Tuesday, so owners may want to see how Cleveland re-works their rotation before adding him off the waiver wire. For now consider him a low-end Fantasy guard in deeper leagues.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson was productive off the bench in Wednesday's season opener against the Celtics. He played 27 minutes and contributed 16 points with eight assists, four rebounds and a block. He did struggle from the field, however, shooting 2 for 8 from three and just 4 for 14 overall.
Analysis: Gibson saw a boost in playing time due to the absence of Mo Williams, who may return in another game or two. However, he and Ramon Sessions each made a case for strong playing time even upon Williams' return and there is plenty of room for players to step up this year in Cleveland with LeBron James gone. We aren't ready to declare Gibson a player to activate, but he is a player to add off the waiver wire in standard formats based on this performance and his possible potential to contribute.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson sat out the Cavaliers with a mild neck strain and is considered day to day. In his seven preseason games, Gibson averaged 14.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in 25 minutes of action. He shot 86.2 percent from the foul line and 44.6 percent from the field for the Cavs in the preseason.
Analysis: Gibson had a pretty good preseason and will be given a good opportunity to score with the void that LeBron James has left. New coach Bryon Scott will need some players to step up their performance this year, and Gibson could very well be one of them. Gibson has an upside in Fantasy leagues, but wouldn't be worth drafting outside of the deepest of leagues on Draft Day. He could provide a nice spark though once the season begins, so keep tabs on him.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson scored a team-high 21 points in Saturday's preseason game against CSKA Moscow. Gibson, who got the start, played in 33 minutes and shot 7 of 17 from the floor, including 4 of 7 from behind the arc. He also had four rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals in the 90-87 loss.
Analysis: Gibson has looked good during the preseason and has produced good numbers when given the opportunity to start. The departure of LeBron James in the offseason makes him one of several players who could be looking at a significant increase in production. While he isn't worth drafting in most formats at this point, Gibson does have some upside and could be a valuable catch on the waiver wire.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson put together a well-rounded stat line in Thursday's preseason game against the Spurs. He scored 13 points with six assists and four rebounds. Gibson came off the bench and played 22 minutes.
Analysis: Gibson has been an afterthought the past couple of seasons in Cleveland, but the departure of LeBron James in the offseason makes him one of several players who could be looking at a significant increase in production. He isn't yet worth drafting in most formats, but is a player worth monitoring in the preseason for signs of a comeback year.
News: Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson did not have a good shooting night on Monday in preseason action against the Mavericks. Gibson shot 4 for 12 from the field and went 1 for 4 from deep but still led his team in scoring with 15 points in the victory. Gibson added four rebounds, two assists and a steal in the game and turned the ball over four times.
Analysis: Gibson poured in 18 points over 27 minutes in the preseason opener but had just 19 points in the next two games. He's really struggled to shoot consistently as he's gone just 14 for 41 (34 percent) from the field. He's 2 for 13 from deep. Gibson is scoring but the poor shooting is going to destroy his Fantasy value if he doesn't pick it up in the regular season. He isn't yet worth drafting in most formats, but is a player worth monitoring in the preseason for signs of a comeback year.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson scored a team-high 18 points in his preseason debut against the Bobcats. He was a perfect 10 for 10 from the foul line and also added four rebounds and an assist.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson, who had missed seven straight games with a foot injury, finally returned to the lineup Sunday against the Magic. He played eight minutes, finishing with one rebound and one assist.
Analysis: The Cavaliers will probably give Gibson some tune-up time before the playoffs, but he's nothing more than a 3-point specialist off the bench and doesn't get enough touches to make an impact in Fantasy.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson did not play in Friday's game against the Pacers due to a foot injury. He's missed seven straight games.
Analysis: Keep Gibson reserved in all daily leagues even if he does return before the end of the regular season. When healthy, Gibson has minimal Fantasy value.

Analysis: Gibson is behind Mo Williams, Anthony Parker and Delonte West on the depth chart and doesn't figure to be worth anything in Fantasy outside the deepest of leagues. Avoid him.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson (foot) will not play in Thursday's game in Chicago, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He remains day to day.

News: The News-Herald reports Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson sat out Tuesday's game against Toronto with a mid-foot contusion. He will be listed as questionable for Thursday's game at Chicago.
Analysis: Keep Gibson reserved in all daily leagues even if he does return against the Bulls. When healthy, Gibson has minimal Fantasy value.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson saw 13 minutes on Monday against the Spurs. Gibson missed a week of action after the birth of his first child but returned on Monday. He scored three points on 1 of 3 shooting. His lone field goal was a 3-pointer. He added two rebounds, one assist and a steal.
Analysis: Gibson is now behind Mo Williams, Anthony Parker and Delonte West on the depth chart and doesn't figure to be worth anything in Fantasy outside the deepest of leagues.
News: The Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports the Cavaliers will get guard Daniel Gibson back Monday night against San Antonio. Gibson missed a week after the birth of his first child but was at shootaround and should be on the active roster.
Analysis: Keep Gibson reserved in all leagues even though he will return against the Spurs. He has minimal Fantasy value while Mo Williams and Delonte West are healthy.
News: Cleveland G Daniel Gibson did not play in Saturday's game against Milwaukee because his fiancee, singer Keyshia Cole, gave birth to their son on Tuesday.
Analysis: With Mo Williams and Delonte West playing healthy basketball, Gibson provides minimal Fantasy value and can be left on waivers in all leagues.
News: Cleveland G did not play in Friday's game because his fiancee, singer Keyshia Cole, gave birth to their son on Tuesday.
Analysis: With Mo Williams and Delonte West playing healthy basketball, Gibson provides minimal Fantasy value and can be left on waivers in all leagues.
News: The Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports that Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson, who became a new father Wednesday, will not be at the game Friday against Detroit, and it doesn't sound like he's going to play Saturday night in Milwaukee, either.
Analysis: Keep Gibson reserved in all leagues. He has minimal Fantasy value while Mo Williams and Delonte West are healthy.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson did not play in Wednesday's game against the Nets after his fiance gave birth to their son. Gibson's status is listed as day to day.
Analysis: Gibson has little if any Fantasy value when fellow guards Mo Williams, Anthony Parker and Delonte West are healthy.
News: Singer Keyshia Cole and Cavaliers point guard Daniel Gibson have announced the birth of their son. Cole's publicist, Tresa Sanders, says in a statement to The Associated Press that Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr. was born Tuesday evening. He weighs 7 pounds, 3 ounces. Sanders says "mother and baby are doing great" and Cole would especially like to thank her fans. The 28-year-old Cole is a Grammy Award-nominated R&B performer who has starred in her own BET reality show. The 24-year-old Gibson was drafted by Cleveland in 2006. They're engaged. Gibson is expected to miss Wednesday's game at New Jersey since he didn't travel with the team to be there for the birth of his son.
Analysis: Keep Gibson reserved in all leagues. He has minimal Fantasy value while Mo Williams and Delonte West are healthy.
News: The Ohio News-Herald reports Cleveland guard Daniel Gibson didn't travel with the team to New Jersey on Tuesday afternoon. He'll likely miss his second consecutive game for personal matters Wednesday night at the Nets. He said earlier in the season his pregnant fiancee, Keyshia Cole, is due on March 1.
Analysis: Keep Gibson reserved in all leagues. He has minimal Fantasy value while Mo Williams and Delonte West are healthy.
News: According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson was deactivated for Monday's game against New York due to personal reasons. There is no indication as to when he will return.
Analysis: Gibson is not currently in a situation to contribute much in Fantasy. His upside while Mo Williams and Delonte West are both healthy is minimal.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson had just one point in 13 minutes off the bench Sunday in Orlando. It was his third straight game in single digits.
Analysis: The three games coincide with the return of Mo Williams. With Williams and Delonte West both healthy, Gibson has slipped too far down the depth chart to trust in Fantasy.
News: Cleveland G Daniel Gibson scored 11 points as the Cavs defeated Orlando 115-106 on Thursday. Gibson played 37 minutes, shooting 4 of 7 from the field while adding five assists and one steal.
Analysis: Gibson is averaging 11.2 points per game over his last five contests to go along with 3.6 assists. With Delonte West returning to the lineup, Gibson will likely see less minutes and will see a decrease in production. Gibson will be better left for the deepest of Fantasy leagues where his scoring ability could provide depth to a Fantasy owner.
News: According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cavaliers G Delonte West will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against Orlando. He has missed nine games with a fractured finger. Daniel Gibson continues to start in the absence of West and Mo Williams.
Analysis: The report added that there are signs that West is going to play. Gibson will remain in the starting lineup because he's played so well and because when players come back from injury, coach Mike Brown likes to ease them in. We don't recommend activating West in daily lineup leagues, but West could have some value going forward while Mo Williams remains out. Gibson remains a good stopgap for deeper leagues, but his value could be about to take a hit.
News: According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Delonte West (finger) is likely out for Tuesday's game against New Jersey. He has missed the team's last eight games. Daniel Gibson will continue to start at point guard in the meantime.
Analysis: Gibson is averaging 11.6 points and 3.6 assists over his last five games and should continue to put up similar numbers while both West and Williams are sidelined. His long-term prospects in Fantasy appear slim, however.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson re-joined his teammates for the second half of Thursday's game against Miami after leaving the arena prior to tipoff because his pregnant fiance was rushed to the hospital. It was apparently a false alarm, as Gibson returned to the bench in the second quarter and started the second half. He finished with 12 points, two rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes. He was 2 of 6 from field, 2 of 5 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Gibson's Fantasy value is up due to injuries to Delonte West and Mo Williams. He's producing in their absence, averaging 13.0 points, 2.8 assists and 1.8 rebounds in his last five games. However he remains merely a viable stopgap measure in standard formats. Beware of West's return, which would cut into Gibson's minutes.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson will not play tonight due to personal reasons, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.Jawad Williams will start in his place.
Analysis: Gibson's Fantasy value increased due to injuries to Delonte West and Mo Williams. He's enjoying more playing time than normal, and producing, averaging 13.6 points, 2.8 assists and 1.6 rebounds in his last five games. While he plays extended minutes he remains a viable stopgap measure in standard formats. Beware of the return of West, as he could return in the next few games which would cut into Gibson's minutes.
News: According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Delonte West has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Miami. He was able to do some work with the splint on his finger after shootaround. Daniel Gibson will continue to start in his absence.
Analysis: It does sound like West is getting closer. There are some indications that he might play before the All-Star break, according to the Plain Dealer and he could still have a chance to make an impact before Mo Williams returns from his injury later in February. Once he does return, Gibson's sudden Fantasy spike will likely be cut into.
News: According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Delonte West will not play again Tuesday night against Memphis due to his fractured finger. There remains no timetable set for his return. Daniel Gibson continues to start in his place.
Analysis: West is likely out for at least a few more games, but the team is treating this injury as day-to-day and won't announce any kind of concrete return date. West could have some appeal in Fantasy leagues while Mo Williams remains sidelined, but Gibson is the player to own right now as a stopgap measure in deeper leagues.
News: According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cavaliers G Delonte West (finger) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the L.A. Clippers. The report added that the Cavs won't take West off "day-to-day" status, which basically means they're not telling when he's coming back. Daniel Gibson will continue to start in the absence of West and Mo Williams.
Analysis: The Plain Dealer also reported that some players seemed to think West would be back by now. Guard Cedric Jackson, who is coming to the end of his 10-day contract, wasn't sure if he'd be here the entire 10 days because West might be back. Now the rumbling is he will be back this week. Fantasy owners should keep him reserved for Fantasy Week 15 (Feb. 1-7) due to the uncertainty. Daniel Gibson will enjoy a boost in the meantime with both West and Mo Williams out. Gibson has scored in double figures in four straight games. His assist totals have not been great for a point guard, but that is to be expected with LeBron James handling the ball so much. Fantasy owners can rely on him for cheap double-digit scoring and three-point help in the meantime, however.
News: Cleveland point guard Daniel Gibson started Monday's game at Miami in place of the injured Mo Williams (shoulder) and Delonte West (finger). He finished with 15 points, one rebound and one assist against the Heat, hitting 5 of 10 shots from the field, including four three-pointers. Coach Mike Brown praised Gibson prior to the Heat game. "He just has to go out there and be himself," Brown said. "We have a talented team, so we don't need anything over the top from him. He knows he has LeBron (James) out there to help him. If you're open, shoot it. If you can drive, then go and drive. Just don't try and do anything over the top."
Analysis: Gibson has now scored in double figures in consecutive games and should see a boost in production with Williams and West out. West could return soon, but it's safe to add Gibson in deeper leagues as a stopgap option since his playing time will increase along with his production.
News: The News-Herald reports Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson will start again Monday night at the Heat since Delonte West (broken left ring finger) is expected to be out. West missed Saturday's game against the Thunder, and Gibson started with Mo Williams (shoulder) also out.
Analysis: West could be limited or out all week with the injury, which makes Gibson a nice sleeper for Fantasy Week 14. Cleveland has four games during this scoring period, so consider adding Gibson and starting him in deeper formats.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson finished his first start of the season with 13 points and four assists against the Thunder on Saturday. He started in place of Delonte West, who sat out with a broken finger. In 34 minutes Gibson shot 5 of 13, including 3 of 8 from 3-point range, and added one steal and two blocks.
Analysis: Gibson will log minutes even when West returns, as original starter Mo Williams is scheduled to miss four to six weeks due to a sprained shoulder. However he's a shooting point guard who has attempted 10 or more shots only three times in 37 games this season. Unless West is out of the lineup Gibson is only worth adding in the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: According to Cavaliers play-by-play announcer Fred McLeod, G Delonte West (finger) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Oklahoma City. Daniel Gibson will start in his place.
Analysis: West sustained a finger injury in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's game with the Lakers. He was going to see more minutes with the injury to G Mo Williams that will sideline him for 4-6 weeks. But this news makes West a risky play at best for Fantasy Week 14 (Jan.25-31). He is still a worthy waiver wire addition to stash in deeper leagues if you need guard help, however. Gibson has had success in the past, but his appeal is limited at this point. He averaged 10.4 points and 2.5 assists in his best season in 2007-08.
News: Cavaliers starting point guard Mo Williams will miss Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers - and potentially more time - with a sprained left shoulder. Williams injured his shoulder in Tuesday night's win over Toronto Raptors when he reached for a steal in the third quarter. The Cavs initially said Williams had sustained a strain, but on Thursday changed the diagnosis to a sprain, which indicates there is a tear in the shoulder joint. The severity of Williams' injury is not yet known and the team has not yet provided a timetable for his return. Cleveland coach Mike Brown said Delonte West will start in place of Williams and that Daniel Gibson will return to the rotation.
Analysis: West is worth adding in larger leagues as a result of this news. He won't be anybody's long-term solution, but he could serve as a viable stopgap in deeper leagues when the Cavaliers face good matchups (as they do in Week 14). Gibson will still play a limited role off the bench and is not worth adding to Fantasy squads.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson (finger) returned to action on Tuesday against the Nets. Gibson played 23 minutes off the bench and scored eight points on 2 of 5 shooting with one rebound.
Analysis: Gibson is a good 3-point shooter, but he's averaging less than 10 points per game, making him not worth using in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers outside of the deepest of leagues.
News: Cavs G Daniel Gibson did not play Sunday night at the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a lingering hand injury. He had been considered a game-time decision following Sunday's morning shootaround.
Analysis: Gibson is a good 3-point shooter, but he's averaging less than 10 points per game, making him not worth using in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers outside of the deepest of leagues, regardless of this injury. Do not activate him until further notice.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Daniel Gibson (hand) will not play Sunday night at the Oklahoma City Thunder.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Daniel Gibson, who was a game-time decision for Friday's game against Portland, was ruled out for the game. He is considered day to day and questionable for Sunday's game at Oklahoma City.
Analysis: Gibson is a good 3-point shooter, but he's averaging less than 10 points per game, making him not worth using in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers outside of the deepest of leagues, regardless of this injury.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Daniel Gibson was expected to meet with team doctors Friday afternoon about his right pinky finger and right side of his hand. He jammed it against the Rockets and it was really bothering him. He had an MRI Thursday could get the results Friday.
Analysis: Gibson was at shootaround Friday morning and did shoot with his fingers taped. The report added that if the test results were good, there is a chance he will play Friday night against Portland. Gibson is a good 3-point shooter, but he's averaging less than 10 points per game, making him not worth using in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers outside of the deepest of leagues, regardless of this injury.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson left Wednesday's game at Houston in the second quarter with a right hand bruise and did not return.
Analysis: Gibson is a good 3-point shooter, but he's averaging less than 10 points per game, making him not worth using in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers, regardless of this injury.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson scored 15 points in 26 minutes as Cleveland defeated Chicago on Friday night.
Analysis: Gibson's 26 minutes were his most since Nov. 17, and he now has 25 points in his last two games after totaling just 30 points in his previous six games. Until he starts to get some more consistent minutes though, Gibson remains just a low-end option in deeper formats.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson scored 13 points off the bench Tuesday against the Warriors, reaching double figures for the first time in four games. He shot 3 for 4 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Gibson is still an excellent 3-point shooter, but he's just a role player at this stage of his career and doesn't get enough minutes to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson, who averaged 7.8 points off the bench last season, had only two in 14 minutes Tuesday in the season opener against the Celtics. He shot 1 for 3, including 0 for 1 from 3-point range. He also had one rebound.
Analysis: Gibson is an excellent 3-point shooter, but his current role makes him nothing more than a one-category performer in Rotisserie leagues. You can ignore him in most Fantasy formats.
News: Cleveland G Daniel Gibson returned to action on Tuesday against the Mavs after leaving his last preseason game with a tailbone injury. Gibson scored five points off the bench in 26 minutes. He shot 2 of 6 from the floor and hit a three.
Analysis: Gibson is a 3-point specialist who has had chances to start in the past but will mostly work off the bench this season. He's useful as a one-category performer in Rotisserie leagues, but he can go mostly undrafted in Fantasy.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson injured his tailbone in the third quarter Wednesday against the Wizards and did not return. He finished with nine points and three assists in 22 minutes.
Analysis: Gibson is a 3-point specialist who has had chances to start in the past but will mostly work off the bench this season. He's useful as a one-category performer in Rotisserie leagues, but he can go mostly undrafted in Fantasy.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson, getting a start Monday in a preseason game against Olympiacos with Mo Williams sidelined by a groin injury, led the team with 15 points on 5 of 9 shooting, including 3 of 6 from 3-point range. He also had four assists and three steals.
Analysis: Gibson is a 3-point specialist who has had chances to start in the past but will mostly work off the bench this season. He's useful as a one-category performer in Rotisserie leagues, but he can go mostly undrafted in Fantasy.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that it's been a tough year for G Daniel Gibson, who missed time with a sprained toe. He's shooting under 40 percent from the field. "It's tough shooting without a big toe," he said.
Analysis: Gibson is shooting 17-for-37 over his last five games, which is actually well above his season percentage of 40 percent. He's averaging 10 points per game over that span but is doing little in the way of intangibles outside of hitting threes. He's only worth using in the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson saw extra time on Tuesday night in a win over Toronto because Sasha Pavlovic came down with the flu before the game. Coming off the bench, Gibson played 32 minutes and shot 6-of-11 for 18 points with four threes. He added three rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Gibson should go back to around 20-25 minutes when Pavlovic returns. He's averaging 10 points per game over his last five but that is helped by Tuesday's total. He's a nice source of cheap threes but should only be used in the deeper Fantasy leagues at this time.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson had just two points off the bench in Wednesday's game at Portland. He played 13 minutes. He has been held under 10 points in four straight games.
Analysis: Gibson has played a combined 36 minutes over his last two games, and that is with Delonte West out of the lineup. Fantasy owners cannot rely on Gibson to be a steady Fantasy option at this stage and while he is worth stashing in deeper formats, he should not be starting in any league at this time.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson could see an increase in playing time and even a bump into the starting lineup in the coming days as teammate and starter Delonte West broke his wrist in Thursday's loss at Chicago. Gibson got the bulk of West's playing time after he left the game and finished with nine points over 39 minutes. He shot poorly at 4-for-11 and 1-for-6 from long range.
Analysis: Gibson did not play well on Thursday but if some of those shots fell it would have been another story. He's still averaging 11 points, two assists and two boards per game over his last five with two threes per night so with added minutes he'll be a very serviceable stopgap for West in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson had a solid performance on the night that they gave away his bobblehead at the Quicken Loans Arena. He scored 15 points, had two rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes of work.
Analysis: Gibson can have big days like the one he had Wednesday, but doesn't have them with enough consistency to be a strong Fantasy player. He's nothing more than a low-end option at this point.
News: Cavaliers reserve guard Daniel Gibson returned Sunday at Oklahoma City after missing five games with a sprained big toe on his left foot. He had six points and one rebound in 16 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Gibson has the occasional big day off the bench, usually when he has his 3-point shot working. His scoring is too inconsistent for most formats, though, so consider him a low-end option.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson will miss two weeks with an injured toe in the first setback this season for the NBA's hottest team. Gibson sprained his left big toe in the second quarter of Tuesday night's win over Toronto. He did not travel to Cleveland's game in Philadelphia, staying back to undergo an MRI and X-rays on Wednesday. The team did not provide results of those tests. One of the Cavs' top reserves and outside shooters, Gibson is averaging 9.4 points per game for the Cavaliers, who have won nine straight games and are 17-1 since Nov. 3. With a 114-94 romp over the Raptors, Cleveland became the first team in league history to win nine games in a row by at least 12 points.
Analysis: Keep Gibson reserved for now and hope he can come back and perform at a high level. Gibson had averaged 16.3 points over his previous three games and can provide a nice boost off the bench. Consider him a No. 4 Fantasy guard when healthy.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson sprained his left big toe in the second quarter Tuesday against the Raptors and didn't return, finishing with six points in six minutes. Gibson did not travel with the club to Philadelphia for Wednesday's game, but he may rejoin the team after being re-evaluated on Wednesday.
Analysis: Gibson had averaged 16.3 points over his previous three games and can provide a nice boost off the bench. But his scoring remains inconsistent, and he doesn't offer much else. This injury doesn't sound like it'll sideline him for more than a game or two, so he should be fine for next week in deeper leagues where he has Fantasy significance.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson has been playing well lately for the Cavs but Saturday night against the Bobcats was his best game yet. Averaging 8.9 points per game coming in, Gibson scored 22 against Charlotte. He was 3-of-4 from long range and dished out five assists.
Analysis: Gibson is averaging almost 14 points per game over his last six contests and that is with a two-point performance against Milwaukee. He's scoring much better of late and getting more minutes because of it. He is developing a niche for himself after losing the his starting job to Mo Williams after he was acquired in the offseason. Pick Gibson up off waivers if he is still available to be used as an occasional stopgap.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson had 14 points with an assist and two rebounds in Friday's game against Indiana. He has scored at least 10 points in five of his last six games.
Analysis: Gibson is getting around 25 minutes off the bench and is becoming a useful option for the Cavs as an energy provider off the bench. He is developing a niche for himself after losing the his starting job to Mo Williams after he was acquired in the offseason. Pick Gibson up off waivers if he is still available to be used as an occasional stopgap.
News: Cavaliers reserve guard Daniel Gibson had a season-high seven assists Tuesday at New York. He also had 10 points and four rebounds in 28 minutes off the bench, shooting 4-for-11, including 2-for-8 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Gibson has scored in double figures only four times this season. You can count on him for a few threes off the bench, but not much else now that he plays a reserve role. Leave him for deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson played quite well off the bench on Thursday night in a win over the Denver Nuggets. Gibson, who failed to score in 23 minutes against Milwaukee on Tuesday, scored 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting and added four rebounds and an assist.
Analysis: Gibson scored 15 Thursday but hadn't seen double figures since Nov. 1 against the Hornets prior. He's not getting rebounds or assists and should be considered just a low-end Fantasy guard only worth using in the deepest of formats.
News: Coming off the bench Thursday against the Bobcats, Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson led his team with 25 points. He shot 10-for-14, including 4-for-6 from 3-point range, in 31 minutes. He also had four rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Gibson happened to get hot, which will happen from time to time, but keep in mind he scored only six points in the season opener. Now out of the starting lineup, you can't expect him to post consistent numbers. Think of him as just a low-end Fantasy guard despite the solid performance.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson played a solid 23 minutes off the bench Tuesday in the season opener at Boston, but he scored only six points to go along with three rebounds and three assists. He struggled with his shot, though, finishing 2-for-8 from the floor and 0-for-2 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Gibson might hit a few threes off the bench, but he doesn't figure to play nearly as prominent a role for the Cavaliers with Mo Williams in town. Even if he averages double-digit points, he won't do enough in the other categories to matter in most Fantasy leagues.
News: The Cavaliers will play three games in the season's first week, but two of the matchups appear to be very difficult on paper. The Celtics allowed the second fewest points in the NBA last season (90.3 ppg) and the Hornets allowed the fifth fewest (95.6). Charlotte gave up 101.4 ppg last season, but they are now coach by Larry Brown, whose teams are notorious for defense.
Analysis: LeBron James is a no-brainer this week. Mo Williams and Zydrunas Ilgauskas should still start in most leagues in Week 1 despite the tough matchups as they are both expected to see a good amount of the scoring load after King James. Sasha Pavlovic is expected to start at the shooting guard slot, but does not stand to see a lot of good looks against Boston or New Orleans. The same goes for Wally Szczerbiak off the bench. Both should be thought of as low-end options this week. Ben Wallace and Anderson Varejao will rotate at the power forward slot and at center, but neither is a recommended option.
News: Cleveland PG Daniel Gibson came off the bench for 22 minutes in the Cavs preseason game against the Pistons on Wednesday. Gibson scored 16 points to lead the team and shot 6-for-11 from the field. He had three rebounds and four assists.
Analysis: Gibson goes from starter to second string this season and won't get nearly enough minutes to produce to the level he did last year. He averaged just 10.4 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds while getting 30.4 minutes. Getting around 20 minutes per game, those numbers will drop. Think of Gibson as nothing more than a late-round flier in Fantasy.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson scored 17 points Tuesday at Philadelphia, playing 28 minutes off the bench. He shot 6-of-9 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range. He also had two rebounds and two assists.
News: High-scoring point guard Mo Williams is headed to Cleveland to join LeBron James as part of a three-team trade involving Milwaukee and Oklahoma City. Agents for Williams and Desmond Mason said Wednesday a six-player deal is being finalized. The trade would push Daniel Gibson from starting point guard to more of a scoring option off the bench.
Analysis: Gibson goes from starter to second string and won't get nearly enough minutes to produce to the level he did last year. He averaged just 10.4 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds while getting 30.4 minutes. Getting around 20 minutes per game, those numbers will drop.
News: The Cavaliers signed sharpshooter Daniel Gibson to a five-year contract Wednesday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The guard averaged a career-high 10.4 points on 43 percent shooting last season. He sprained his left ankle in a Feb. 20 game at Indiana and missed 18 games.
Analysis: It will be interesting to see what the team does with Delonte West -- also a restricted free agent -- in the offseason. He stands to be a handcuff for Gibson's Fantasy value, which stands to be pretty good as a third year breakout candidate.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson will miss Game 6 of Cleveland's playoff against the Boston Celtics after separating his left shoulder during the second half Wednesday night. Gibson, one of the Cavs' best perimeter shooters, left early in the fourth quarter following a collision and did not return. The team estimated he would miss one to two weeks.
Analysis: Gibson will be a restricted free agent this offseason. He appeared in 58 games during the regular season and averaged 10.4 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds. He missed a good amount of time this season with ankle injuries and lost his starting job. He'll likely be re-signed by the Cavs, but it will be interesting to see what the team does with Delonte West -- also a restricted free agent -- in the offseason. He stands to be a handcuff for Gibson's Fantasy value, which stands to be pretty good as a third year breakout candidate.
News:Daniel Gibson went to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's Game 5 loss at Boston with a bruised left shoulder. He did not return.

News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson played 22 minutes off the bench in Thursday's loss to Chicago, the most he's played in any of the four games since returning from his ankle ailment. He managed no points and three assists while shooting 0-for-2 from the field.
Analysis: Gibson is still not in a position to play enough for Fantasy owners to want to activate him. You've gone this far without him, don't rely on him in the final scoring period of the season.
News: The Cleveland Cavaliers welcomed back PG Daniel Gibson to the lineup Wednesday against Charlotte, but C Ben Wallace missed his second straight game. Coach Mike Brown said after Wednesday's shootaround that Gibson has recovered after being forced out of Sunday's win over Philadelphia with recurring pain in his left ankle. It's the same ankle that caused Gibson to miss 18 games earlier this season. Brown said he's being cautious with Wallace, who has been cleared to return from back spasms. Brown said Wallace wants to play, but "I have veto power." Wallace is averaging 4.9 points and 7.9 rebounds since being acquired from Chicago in a February trade.
Analysis: Gibson returned to the lineup Saturday after missing 18 games because of the ankle injury, but then sat on Sunday. It doesn't look as though he is fully recovered and it could be a lingering problem in the final weeks of the season. When healthy, Gibson is a decent No. 4 Fantasy guard. However, continue to consider him an injury-risk start for the rest of the season. Wallace is averaging 4.9 points and 7.9 rebounds in 15 games with Cleveland. He is not doing much better than when he was with Chicago. He still remains just a low-end Fantasy center and his back spasms may linger for a few days.
News: The Cavs played Sunday against the 76ers without forward Ben Wallace, who missed the game because of back spasms. Cleveland's injury problems continued when guard Daniel Gibson left the game in the third quarter because of soreness in his left ankle. Gibson had eight points and two rebounds in 13 minutes before leaving Sunday.
Analysis: Gibson returned to the lineup Saturday after missing 18 games because of the ankle injury. It doesn't look as though he is fully recovered and it could be a lingering problem in the final weeks of the season. When healthy, Gibson is a decent No. 4 Fantasy guard. However, consider him an injury-risk start for the upcoming scoring period (March 31-April 6).
News:Daniel Gibson was healthy enough to play for the Cavaliers since Feb. 20, when he sprained his left ankle. He scored only one point in 18 minutes Saturday in the 81-75 loss to the Pistons.
Analysis: Gibson is a No. 4 Fantasy guard and a good source of points and three-pointers.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson is close to returning, but just not for Wednesday's 100-99 loss to the New Orleans Hornets. Gibson has been out since Feb. 20 with a bum ankle.
Analysis: Monitor Gibson's status as he could be playing shortly. When healthy, he is a No. 4 Fantasy guard and a good source of points and three-pointers.
News: A decision will be made Wednesday regarding Daniel Gibson, a key cog in the Cavaliers' playoff run last year, and whether he's ready to play. If you ask him if he's ready to go against the New Orleans Hornets, you get an emphatic yes. Idle since the Feb. 20 injury to his left ankle, Gibson said he doesn't expect to have to shake off a lot of rust when he returns. In the time since his injury, the Cavs' entire second team, the one in which Gibson had been a key member, has taken on a different look with the additions of Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Gibson. When healthy, he is a No. 4 Fantasy guard and a good source of points and three-pointers.
News: The Cavaliers are expected to get back guard Daniel Gibson on Wednesday against, who has been sidelined since Feb. 20 with a high left ankle sprain. Gibson went through Cleveland's entire practice on Tuesday, and Brown said the Cavaliers' training staff would decide if the second-year shooting threat would face the Hornets.
Analysis: His return will likely spell the end to whatever Fantasy value Delonte West had left. Fantasy owners will have the remainder of the week to gage whether or not he's ready to be activated.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson has targeted Wednesday's game against New Orleans for his return from an ankle sprain.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Gibson. When healthy, he is a No. 4 Fantasy guard and a good source of points and three-pointers.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson went through an extensive shooting and ball-handling workout with assistant coach Chris Jent on Thursday and said he was hoping to be able to return to action next week, when the Cavs play one game in six days, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Gibson, who admitted he still has some discomfort, has been out a month with a sprained left ankle. Doctors originally said he would miss four to six weeks with the injury. "I feel good, finally getting back on the court, running, working out," Gibson said. "That always feels good."
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Gibson. When healthy, he is a No. 4 Fantasy guard and a good source of points and three-pointers.
News: Cleveland Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson could miss six weeks with a severely sprained left ankle, the latest costly injury for the defending Eastern Conference champions. Gibson injured his ankle in the second quarter of Wednesday night's win over Indiana when he and Pacers guard Travis Diener were diving in the lane for a loose ball. Gibson had to be helped off the court by teammates. An MRI taken on Thursday at the Cleveland Clinic confirmed the sprain, and the club said Gibson is expected to be out 4-6 weeks.
Analysis: Gibson has been Cleveland's best outside shooter all season, the one player teammate LeBron James can count on to make an open jumper. For the short term, Gibson's injury will make it even more difficult on the Cavs, who traded six players on Thursday in a three-way deal with Chicago and Seattle. Expect newly-acquired Delonte West to fill in while Gibson is sidelined. Last weekend, Gibson was named MVP of the All-Star rookie challenge in New Orleans. He made 11 3-pointers in the East's win, and then finished second the next night to Toronto's Jason Kapono in the 3-point Shootout. The second-year guard has been playing with confidence and has improved dramatically at both ends of the court. He is out until at least late March.
News: Cleveland Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson went down with a leg injury in the third quarter of Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers. Indiana guard Travis Diener made contact with Gibson while both were diving for a loose ball. Gibson was helped off the court by teammates. Gibson was 5-for-5 on 3-pointers and scored 15 points in the first half to help the Cavaliers take a 60-54 lead.
Analysis: A Cavaliers spokesman said X-rays were negative, and the team would re-evaluate the injury Thursday morning in Cleveland. Gibson was the MVP of the Rookie Challenge during All-Star weekend. He scored just five points Tuesday against the Rockets, but enjoyed a decent first half of the season by averaging 11.5 points. He now comes off the bench for the Cavaliers and contributes little more than a handful of points each game. Consider him a low-end Fantasy guard when healthy.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson, coming off an 11 3-pointer performance in the Rookie-Sophomore game over All-Star weekend, had only five points two rebounds and one assist Tuesday against the Rockets. He shot 1-for-5 from the floor.
Analysis: Gibson had missed four straight games with a strained hamstring going into All-Star weekend. He now comes off the bench for the Cavaliers and contributes little more than a handful of points each game. Consider him a low-end Fantasy guard.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson walked away with an MVP award, and had the look of someone who has another trophy coming during All-Star weekend. Gibson made a record 11 3-pointers, many coming right in front of Cleveland teammate LeBron James, and scored 33 points to lead the NBA's sophomore stars to a 136-109 victory over the top rookies on Friday night. Gibson will compete in the 3-point shootout Saturday, and will be hard to beat if he shoots the way he did against the defenseless rookies.
Analysis: Gibson finished three points shy of the game record, set by Amare Stoudemire in 2004. "My confidence will be high from tonight and hopefully I didn't use them all up," Gibson said. He had missed four straight games with a strained hamstring going into All-Star weekend. He now comes off the bench for the Cavaliers and contributes little more than a handful of points each game. Consider him a low-end Fantasy guard.
News: Cavs G Daniel Gibson missed his fourth straight game with a strained hamstring Wednesday against San Antonio.
Analysis: Gibson expects to take part in All-Star festivities. He's in the rookie challenge and 3-point shootout. That means he should be a safe start in Fantasy for the upcoming scoring period.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson missed his third straight game with a strained right hamstring Monday at Orlando.
Analysis: When healthy, Gibson gives Fantasy owners around 10 points with a handful of assists off the bench. We doubt he'll return until after the All-Star break, but he doesn't deserve to start in most formats anyway.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson missed his second straight game with a strained right hamstring Sunday against the Nuggets. The injury could keep him out of next weekend's All-Star activities in New Orleans. He's scheduled to play in the rookie-sophomore challenge and 3-point shootout.
Analysis: When healthy, Gibson gives Fantasy owners around 10 points with a handful of assists off the bench. We doubt he'll return until after the All-Star break, but he doesn't deserve to start in most formats anyway.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson, who left in the fourth quarter Thursday against the Rockets with a strained right hamstring, sat out Friday at Atlanta with the same injury.
Analysis: Gibson had scored in double figures in three straight games before leaving Thursday's game. When healthy, Gibson gives Fantasy owners around 10 points with a handful of assists off the bench. He doesn't deserve to start in most formats.
News: Cavs G Daniel Gibson, a Houston native, left in the fourth quarter Thursday against the Rockets with a strained right hamstring. He had five points and two rebounds in 19 minutes.
Analysis: Gibson had scored in double figures for three straight games before leaving Thursday's game. Gibson has come off the bench after the injury to Sasha Pavlovic with the Cavs looking for some kind of spark off the bench. For now, the team seems contents with starting Larry Hughes at the point, Ira Newble at shooting guard with Gibson coming off the pine. That doesn't mean much for Gibson, though, who is still seeing 30-35 minutes per contest. He's going to get Fantasy owners around 10 points, but won't distribute many assists on a regular basis.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson had eight points with four rebounds and two assists off the bench in Wednesday's win at Portland.
Analysis: Gibson has come off the bench after the injury to Sasha Pavlovic with the Cavs looking for some kind of spark off the bench.
News: Cavaliers guard Sasha Pavlovic could miss up to two months because of a sprained left foot, a blow to the defending Eastern Conference champions, who are playing their best ball this season. Pavlovic got hurt during the third quarter of Wednesday night's win over Washington. He scored 13 points and had seven assists before going out. The Cavaliers, who have won four straight games and are 11-2 since Christmas, said an MRI and CT scan revealed the injury to Pavlovic. Daniel Gibson or Devin Brown are likely to start in Pavlovic's spot.
Analysis: Gibson started earlier in the season for Cleveland. He is a decent scoring option, but his assist totals can sometimes frustrate Fantasy owners. The increased playing time will only hike his Fantasy value up slightly until starts to produce with the extra PT. Continue to view him as a No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy guard.
News: Cavs PG Daniel Gibson contributed 18 of the team's 132 points during Tuesday's win against the Grizzlies. He has scored in double figures for two straight games and five of the last seven contests. He had just two assists Tuesday and now has two or fewer assists in five straight games.
Analysis: Gibson is no longer in the starting lineup for the Cavs and you can tell by his low-assist outputs. He is more of a scorer than distributor and remains a low-end Fantasy option at this time.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson, recently moved to the bench, had 17 points on five 3-pointers Tuesday against the Sonics. He played 25 minutes.
Analysis: Despite his move to the bench and slight decrease in minutes, Gibson has contributed his usual 12 points per game over the last five. Continue to view him as a No. 4 guard in Fantasy.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson had 11 points and four assists in 26 minutes off the bench Wednesday against the Hawks. In four games since he began coming off the bench, he has averaged 12.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
Analysis: Considering Gibson's season averages are 12.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists, the move to the bench doesn't appear to have hurt him much. Still, having no spot in the starting lineup creates the possibility of erratic minutes, so we wouldn't trust Gibson as a No. 4 Fantasy guard right now.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson came off the bench Tuesday against the Heat, allowing Larry Hughes to enter the starting lineup at point guard. Gibson still managed 16 points in 31 minutes of play, though, shooting 4-of-6 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Gibson doesn't collect nearly as many assists as most point guards, and if he continues to come off the bench, his scoring might become more spotty as well. For now, we'll assume he keeps playing starter's minutes even if he doesn't start, so keep him active as a No. 3 guard in Fantasy.
News: Cavs PG Daniel Gibson had 13 points with five rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal in Sunday's loss to Golden State.
Analysis: Gibson is averaging 12.6 ppg, 3.2 apg and 2.8 rpg this season and is useful as a No. 3 guard in most Fantasy formats. He's locked in as the starting point man in Cleveland.
News: Cavs PG Daniel Gibson had 15 points with three rebounds in Thursday's win vs. the Lakers. He did not have any rebounds, steals, or blocks.
Analysis: Gibson is a very erratic Fantasy option who has the ability to score around 10-15 points any night, but will not help you consistently in any other category. Even playing point guard, he does not contribute regularly productive assist totals since LeBron James does most of the ball handling.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson returned to the lineup Monday, scoring 12 points and dishing out five assists in 46 minutes. He had a wisdom tooth removed earlier last week and played Friday, but he had to sit Saturday after getting bumped in the face.
Analysis: Gibson doesn't get as many assists as most point guards, but the 3-point specialist scores enough to have value as a No. 4 guard in Fantasy. Hopefully, the tooth won't interfere with his play anymore.
News: The Cavaliers played without PG Daniel Gibson on Saturday against the 76ers. He had a wisdom tooth removed during the week and was bumped in the face Friday night.
Analysis: The collision Friday evidently made Gibson's swollen jaw worse, though we doubt he'll have to miss another game because of the condition. He doesn't get as many assists as most point guards, but he scores enough to have value as a No. 4 guard in Fantasy.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson, who missed Tuesday's game after having a wisdom tooth removed, returned to the court Friday at New Jersey. He scored 12 points on 3-of-4 shooting, all of it from 3-point range.
Analysis: Feel free to active Gibson in Fantasy again. He scores a decent amount of points but doesn't get the number of assists you'd expect from a point guard.
News: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Daniel Gibson hopes to play Friday at the Nets. He had a wisdom tooth removed Monday and missed Tuesday's game. "I practiced (Thursday) and I felt pretty good," said Gibson.
Analysis: The good news is that Gibson should be a safe start for the upcoming scoring period. He continues to start at the point for Cleveland, but is a low-end producer.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel 'Boobie' Gibson missed Tuesday night's contest with the Pacers after having a cyst and wisdom tooth removed on Monday.
Analysis: Gibson should be back for Friday night's game at New Jersey, but his Fantasy owners will be fuming at him missing one of his three scheduled games for this week. He remains a No. 4 Fantasy guard in all formats.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson had a solid all-around game Tuesday against the Nets, scoring 17 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists. He shot only 6-of-16 from the floor, but made four of eight 3-pointers.
Analysis: Gibson continues to thrive from behind the arc, but he isn't much of a ball-distributer at this point in his career. Though he entered Tuesday's game averaging 12.4 ppg this season, he had only scored in double digits in one of his last five games. Treat him as a No. 4 guard in Fantasy.
News: Cavs PG Daniel Gibson scored a regular-season career-high 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting in Cleveland's 111-107 loss to the Bucks.
Analysis: Coming into Tuesday night's game, Gibson only had 34 points in his last four contests TOTAL. He was scoring nicely earlier this season, but had fallen into a bit of a funk before finally breaking out against the Bucks. His assist totals are still less than desirable, but keep an eye on his point totals over the next few games and pick him up if he continues to get a good share of the action in Cleveland.
News: Cavs PG Daniel Gibson, who scored in double digits in four of his first six games this season, scored only seven in a 122-100 loss to the Nuggets on Monday night and only has 12 total points in his last two games.
Analysis: Gibson was looking like a scoring machine early this season, but has come back down to earth and lost some significant minutes to Shannon Brown on Monday. "Boobie" has only one game with more than three assists this season, which is not good news for a PG. He was looking like a good pickup last week, but now he's someone to keep an eye on as Damon Jones may well start challenging him for the starting PG job in Cleveland.
News: Cavs PG Daniel Gibson scored 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting in Clevland's 108-104 win over the Warriors on Tuesday night. Gibson now has two 20-plus point games in his last three contests.
Analysis: Gibson may very well become the Cavs' second best scorer behind James, which would make him well worth owning in Fantasy. He won't have as many assists as most point guards, but pick him up now if you need a guard who'll play consistent minutes and score consistent points.
News: In the Cavaliers' second game of the season Friday against the Knicks, second-year PG Daniel Gibson scored 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 6-of-9 from three-point range. He also had two rebounds and two assists but played second fiddle to LeBron James' 45-point outburst.
Analysis: "Boobie" Gibson will play second fiddle to King James often, but second fiddle's better than third fiddle, right? Gibson showed the kind of outside shooting touch Friday that will likely ensure his postseason breakout continues into the regular season. He may very well become the Cavs' second best scorer behind James, which would make him well worth owning in Fantasy. He won't have as many assists as most point guards, but pick him up now if you need a guard who'll play consistent minutes and score consistent points. Then again, who doesn't need that?
News: Cavs PG Daniel Gibson had eight points with four assists and two rebounds in Wednesday's season opener vs. Dallas.
Analysis: Gibson shot 3-for-6 from the field and wasn't exactly awe-inspiring. He remains the starting point guard for the Cavs. You do have to consider, however, that LeBron James handles the ball like a point guard for the Cavs and that should limit Gibson's overall production.
News: Cavaliers PG Daniel Gibson scored 13 points for the second time in the preseason during Saturday's game vs. Orlando in Macau, China. He was 6-of-10 from the field with two assists and one rebound.
Analysis: Gibson played the most minutes in the game, 36, perhaps because the Cavs feel he needs the most work heading into the season. He figures to run the point for the Cavs this season and for that reason deserves a look in larger leagues as a possible low-end Fantasy starter.
News: Cavaliers G Daniel Gibson started at the point to open the exhibition season Tuesday. He scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting, chipping in an assist and four rebounds. He also had three turnovers, however.
Analysis: Gibson, taking over for the injured Eric Snow, has much more scoring and rebounding capability than his predecessor. Consider him a sleeper you want in the middle-to-late rounds of Fantasy drafts.
News: The Miami Herald is reporting that Cavaliers PG Eric Snow will undergo surgery on Tuesday on his left knee to repair a torn medial meniscus. Snow, who was injured last week, is expected to miss the entire preseason and will be out 4-6 weeks all together.
Analysis: This injury practically locks up the starting point guard job for second-year player Daniel Gibson. Even as a starter Snow's defensive style of play did not translate into much Fantasy appeal because he doesn't score, doesn't rebound and doesn't even get many assists. Gibson is now that much more valuable as a sleeper in the middle-to-late rounds.
News: Cavs rookie Daniel Gibson averaged 10.8 ppg, 2.5 apg and 1.8 rpg in the NBA Finals series loss to the Spurs. He averaged 4.6 ppg, 1.5 rpg and 1.2 apg during his rookie regular season.
Analysis: Gibson had the most success after LeBron James in the 4-0 loss to the Spurs, but he started to make a name for himself once he got a chance to start after an injury to Larry Hughes forced him into the lineup. Depending on offseason moves made by Cleveland, Gibson is penciled in as the team's starting point guard going into next season. That makes him an interesting option as a sleeper pick in the middle-to-late rounds as a No. 4 guard that can thrive in his first full NBA season. We wouldn't expect him to start breaking out until his third NBA season, however.
News: Since Cavs guard Daniel Gibson has returned, coach Mike Brown's rotation has been messed up. "We have to find a way to fit in Gibson," he said. "It's my job to get him back in the mix." Damon Jones, Shannon Brown, Ira Newble and David Wesley have fallen completely out of the rotation in the last week.
Analysis: Gibson had three points and two rebounds Sunday against Denver. He is not worth starting at this time.
News: Cavs guard Daniel Gibson was activated on Tuesday. He missed the previous eight games with a sprained left big toe. "I'm going to throw him out there," coach Mike Brown said. "If it's bothering him at all, obviously, I'll limit his playing time. He's got some guys (ahead of him) who have been playing some pretty good basketball. With him being a rookie, it's OK if I kick him to the curb a little bit and make him earn his (minutes). I'm looking to play him limited minutes."
Analysis: Gibson returned to the lineup for Tuesday's game at Charlotte, but he was scoreless in 12 minutes off of the bench with just two rebounds. He missed all three of his field goal attempts and he was 0-for-2 from the charity stripe. With Larry Hughes playing so well at the point, it is highly possible Gibson won't be quite as valuable down the stretch as he had been before getting injured.
News: Daniel Gibson (toe) returned to the lineup for Tuesday's game at Charlotte, but he was scoreless in 12 minutes off of the bench with just two rebounds. He missed all three of his field goal attempts and he was 0-for-2 from the charity stripe.
Analysis: Gibson showed quite a bit of rust. He should produce a little better as he builds up his stamina, but his role has changed significantly since the re-emergence of Larry Hughes.
News: Cavaliers coach Mike Brown indicated that he would likely activate Daniel Gibson on Tuesday night against Charlotte. Gibson has missed eight games with a toe sprain
Analysis: It appears safe to get Gibson back in your lineup, but we would advise using caution until he proves healthy enough to make a contribution.
News: Rookie point guard Daniel "Boobie" Gibson got through practice unscathed on Friday, but he was inactive against Utah on Saturday. Gibson said the pain in his left big toe is "minimal at worst."
Analysis: Keep Gibson reserved in all larger Fantasy leagues until he can officially return and prove his health. Also, wait to see if or how his role has changed with the re-emergence of Larry Hughes.
News: Rookie G Daniel Gibson, who has missed five games with a toe sprain, was expected to practice Friday. With the Cavaliers playing well with Larry Hughes at point guard, coach Mike Brown said he'd wait to determine how he uses Gibson.
Analysis: Keep Gibson reserved in all larger Fantasy leagues until he can officially return and prove his health. Also, wait to see if or how his role has changed with the re-emergence of Hughes.
News: Cavs rookie guard Daniel Gibson met with team doctors on Sunday. He had a protective boot removed from his left foot. He's been suffering from a sprained left big toe.
Analysis: This is a good sign Gibson is getting closer to a return. Keep him reserved for now, but continue to monitor his progress.
News: Coach Mike Brown said Daniel Gibson (toe) is making steady progress in his recovery from a sprained left big toe. He's still wearing a boot on his left foot.
Analysis: Normally, injured players don't lose their starting job in Brown's system so we should expect to see him back in the starting lineup. The problem is that Larry Hughes has played very well at the point in his absence. Continue to monitor this situation.
News: Cavaliers rookie guard Daniel Gibson will miss at least two weeks with a sprained left big toe, an injury that will reshuffle Cleveland's lineup again. Gibson, who has provided the Cavs with a spark since replacing Eric Snow at point guard in the starting lineup, initially injured his toe in a Feb. 14 game against Utah. He aggravated it during a loss in Dallas on Thursday. "I jammed it on another player's foot," Gibson said before the Cavaliers hosted Toronto on Saturday night. An MRI taken on Friday revealed additional swelling in Gibson's toe, prompting doctors to advise additional rest for the 21-year-old nicknamed "Boobie." "We're right back to square one with it," said Gibson, wearing a protective boot on his foot. "They told me to take my time."
Analysis: In 16 starts, Gibson, a second-round draft pick, is averaging 5.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists. When healthy, he is a low-end Fantasy guard. He is likely out until at least mid-March, so make sure to take him out of all active Fantasy lineups while sidelined.
News: Rookie guard Daniel Gibson ranked third in the NBA in three-point percentage at 45.9 percent (45 for 98). In his last four games, he's averaging 8.7 points and 3.3 rebounds.
Analysis: Gibson continues to start, but remains a low-end Fantasy guard until he can up his scoring totals on a regular basis.
News: Cavaliers guard Daniel "Boobie" Gibson made his 21st birthday one he won't soon forget. He buried a huge 3-pointer with less than two minutes to play that put the Cavs ahead to stay in their 97-89 victory over the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets on Tuesday at Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavs were clinging to a three-point lead when All-Star forward LeBron James was double-teamed by Hornets forwards Desmond Mason and David West. "I saw (Gibson) all the way," James said. "David West got a hand on the ball. I was able to recover and kick it to him. (Gibson) stepped in, and without even thinking about it, hit a big shot." Gibson's third 3-pointer handed the Cavs a 91-85 advantage, and helped them to their eighth win in nine meetings against the Hornets, and sixth in a row at The Q. Cleveland's only blemish was a 95-89 setback on Dec. 11 in Oklahoma City. "The ball came my way," Gibson said. "I had to make it on my birthday. I knew my whole family was at home watching the game." The shot was special. It capped off a nice game for the rookie, who finished with 12 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: It should be Gibson's birthday every day if he could play like this. Consider him a low-end Fantasy option at this time.
News: Cavs G Daniel Gibson scored eight points and brought down seven boards Sunday at Miami.
Analysis: Gibson continues to start, but remains a low-end Fantasy guard until he can up his scoring totals and continue to dish out assists like this on a regular basis.
News: The Cavaliers welcomed back rookie G Daniel Gibson to the starting lineup Wednesday against the Raptors. He had three points, one rebound and two assists in 22 minutes. Gibson was only out of the lineup for one game with a sprained toe. The rookie out of Texas has been in the starting lineup since Jan. 26 and has only gone over 10 points, three times in 12 games.
Analysis: It appears safe to get Gibson back in the lineup, although he has minimal Fantasy value at this time. After going for double-figures in three of his first four starts, he has failed to do so in seven starts. His highest value remains in long-term keeper leagues.
News: Cavs rookie guard Daniel Gibson is probable Wednesday after sitting out last week's win over the Lakers with a sprained toe.
Analysis: It appears safe to get Gibson back in the lineup, although he has minimal Fantasy value at this time.
News: Cavs G Daniel Gibson (toe) averaged 4.9 ppg and 1.1 apg heading into the All-Star break.
Analysis: Gibson, who is day to day with a toe injury, had been promoted into the starting lineup before getting hurt. He's an excellent three-point shooter, but still needs to prove he can offer more scoring before he can be relied upon as a regular scoring option.
News: Cavs rookie G Daniel Gibson missed Thursday's game against the Lakers with a sprained toe.
Analysis: Gibson is still experiencing the ups and downs of being a rookie and is not a recommended Fantasy option at this time. He remains a decent low-end long-term keeper. He is listed as day to day.
News: Veteran Eric Snow started the second half at point guard for the Cavs in place of rookie Daniel Gibson. Snow didn't score, but had six rebounds and two assists. Gibson, who had a career-high five assists in the first half, suffered a sprained left big toe. X-rays were negative. He's listed as doubtful for Wednesday night's game in Los Angeles.
Analysis: Keep Gibson reserved in daily leagues unless you don't have any other option. Snow has minimal Fantasy value at this time.
News: The more observers get a look at Daniel Gibson, the more they're sure he's not a pure point guard. He's probably a shooting guard trapped in a point guard's body. "It's too early to tell," Brown said. "He's not a T.J. Ford-type who breaks you down. He's always a threat on the floor. He's also a pretty good defender."
Analysis: Gibson scored a career-high 19 points, but had just one turnover against the Heat last Thursday. He connected on 4-of-6 three-point goals and is now ranked fourth in the NBA at 47.1 percent (32-of-68). Consider him someone to target off the waiver wire.
News: Cavs G Daniel Gibson had 19 points, one rebound and one assist in a loss to the Heat Thursday.
Analysis: Gibson made his second start in place of Eric Snow Thursday and turned in another decent performance. Right now, Gibson is at best a low-end Fantasy guard but he could turn into much more with a few more solid performances. He is worth keeping an eye on.
News: Cleveland rookie Daniel Gibson, who made his first start at point guard Tuesday against Golden State, made four three-pointers. Searching for more points from his point guard, coach Mike Brown replaced Eric Snow in the starting lineup with Gibson, who finished with 12 points, two assists and two turnovers in 25 minutes. "It was special," Gibson said. "I had a couple of butterflies. I really haven't had butterflies like that in a long time."
Analysis: Keep an eye on Gibson's performance because he could be worth adding. Snow would have no Fantasy value as a reserve. He finished with one point and six assists.
News: Cavs rookie guard Daniel Gibson scored 10 points off the bench in 33 minutes at Portland on Wednesday. In the three games Gibson has played at least 30 minutes, he has averaged 14 points and 3.3 rebounds and is shooting 53.6 percent from the field (15 of 28) and 46.7 from three-point range (7 of 15). He is second among all rookies in three-point accuracy (40.4). Gibson had six points, one rebound and two assists on Friday.
Analysis: Gibson is not worth owning in Fantasy leagues just yet, but keep an eye on his progress. He might be worth adding down the road.
News: Cavs G Daniel Gibson played just over two minutes off the bench Saturday night at the L.A. Clippers.
Analysis: He isn't getting enough playing time to warrant using in Fantasy leagues, but keep him in mind if he ever were to get regular minutes.
News: Daniel Gibson made his NBA debut in the starting lineup against the Raptors on Wednesday. He replaced Shannon Brown as the starting shooting guard.
Analysis: The former Texas Longhorn scored 18 points and is worth a look in larger leagues. As long as Larry Hughes remains out, he could be useful.
News: Larry Hughes and Zydrunas Ilgauskas each scored 14 points and Damon Jones added 12 to help the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 91-82 preseason victory over the Boston Celtics on Friday night. The Cavaliers were without LeBron James, who was given the night off by coach Mike Brown.
Analysis: Don't expect the Cavs to give LeBron much of a chance to hurt himself in the preaseason. He remains our consensus No. 1 overall choice in Fantasy Basketball and he should be drafted as such in any format. Ilgauskas remains a No. 1 Fantasy center in any league and Larry Hughes should once again be considered a nice No. 2 or 3 guard since he is at 100 percent health. Consider Damon Jones an option in leagues as a 3-point threat, but his scoring will have to become more steady for him to be a reliable every week starter. Donyell Marshall, Drew Gooden and Anderson Varejao all have aspects of their game that can be valuable to Fantsasy owners in deeper formats and can be considered decent picks in the lower rounds.
News: Daniel Gibson, who was selected in the second round in the 2006 NBA Draft, signed a rookie contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Analysis: Gibson will likely make the roster as a reserve guard, but the former Texas Longhorn is not likely to offer much in the way of Fantasy value in 2006-07.
