Clippers G J.J. Redick drops 20 in win over Pelicans

(3/22/2015) Clippers guard J.J. Redick scored 20 points in Sunday afternoon's 107-100 victory over the Pelicans. 

Redick shot 7 of 16 from the field and was 3 of 6 from behind the arc. He made all three of his free-throw attempts. Redick distributed two assists and recorded one steal. This is the fourth game in a row that Redick has scored 20 or more, the first time he's done that this season. 


J.J. Redick sets Clippers 3-pointer record

(3/21/2015) J.J. Redick scored 26 points and set a Clippers record in the team's 113-99 win over the Wizards on Friday.

Redick knocked down nine of 15 shots, including four of seven on 3-pointers. The four treys gave Redick 162 on the season, eclipsing Jamal Crawford's year-old single-season team record.

(3/19/2015) Clippers shooting guard J.J. Redick scored 27 points on 9 of 16 shooting from the field, including 7 of 12 from 3-point range, in Los Angeles' 116-105 win over the Kings Wednesday.

It was Redick's second consecutive 20-plus point game and third in his last five. It was also the most 3-pointers Redick has hit in a game all season. He added four assists and two rebounds to his totals.

(3/13/2015) With the Clippers battling injuries, guard J.J. Redick has stepped up his play and provided the team with an offensive boost that has helped them stay afloat in the tough Western Conference, according to the team's website. 

Heading into Friday's game against the Mavericks, Redick has scored at least 18 points in five straight contests, sparking the offense in the absence of guard Jamal Crawford

"J.J.'s so important to our team," Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. "J.J. showed up in Dallas and played. It gives us that extra offense, that movement. It's exhausting."

(3/1/2015) Clippers guard J.J. Redick had an x-ray on his left knee following Sunday's win over the Bulls, according to a report by Dan Woike of the Orange County Register

Redick played 38 minutes in the game, scoring 12 points. 

The results of the x-ray were negative. 


Clippers' Redick plans to participate in 3-point shooting contest

(2/10/2015) Despite lingering back spasms, Clippers guard J.J. Redick said he plans to participate in the 3-point shooting contest during All-Star Weekend, reports the Los Angeles Times.

"I can take spot shots," Redick said. "As long as I can play Wednesday, I'll do the 3-point contest."

Redick recently missed three games because of back spasms, but he was able to play in Monday's win over the Mavericks and scored 15 points. He is shooting 43.7 percent from 3-point range this season.

"I felt good," Redick said after Monday's game. "I think the biggest thing right now is building up the endurance and continue to monitor it and take care of it over the next few days and hopefully that long All-Star break will completely heal it."

(2/9/2015) Clippers SG J.J. Redick will try to play on Monday night, coach Doc Rivers told Mavs Outsider's Bryan Gutierrez.

Redick was originally listed as doubtful for Monday's game. He left a game on Feb. 2 with back spasms after playing four minutes, and he has missed the last three games.

According to the official word from the team, if Redick does play on Monday, he will be in the starting lineup.  

The Clippers are nine-point underdogs at the Mavericks.

"Someone’s going to have to really convince me for J.J. to play tomorrow even if they [trainers] say he can play," Rivers told reporters. Redick has missed three straight games due to back spasms, but was expected to return either Monday or Wednesday.

(2/5/2015) On Thursday, the NBA announced the participants in the three-point contest to be held during All-Star Weekend.

The players scheduled to compete in the event are Warriors guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Rockets guard James Harden, Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving, Hawks guard Kyle Korver, Clippers guard J.J. Redick, Spurs guard Marco Belinelli and Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews.

The competition will take place Feb. 14 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Redick missed last Wednesday's game against the Jazz after suffering a hit to his back two days before against the Nuggets.

"It's just spasms," Rivers said. "I think it's from that hit [against Denver]. He probably shouldn't have played, who knows, but we're just going to rest him until he's right."

In 48 games, Redick is averaging 14.4 points and 1.7 assists. Guards Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers will likely see their roles increase while Redick is out.

Report: Warriors' Curry, Thompson in three-point contest

(1/27/2015) Warriors guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are expected to participate in the three-point contest, according to Yahoo Sports. 

The duo will be joined by Hawks' Kyle Korver, Trail Blazer's Wesley Matthews and Clippers' J.J. Redick

Curry has the experience, as the 26-year-old has already participated in two three-point contests. 

Korver, however, may be the favorite. He leads the NBA, shooting 53 percent from beyond the arc. 

Spurs guard Marco Belinelli won the event in 2014.
