J.J. Redick scores 12 points in first game back

(4/4/2014) Clippers guard J.J. Redick made his return to the floor on Thursday, scoring 12 points off the bench in a 113-107 loss to the Mavericks.

Making his first appearance since Feb. 3, Redick went 3 of 10 from the floor, including 2 of 6 from downtown, and 4 of 4 from the free throw line. He also contributed with two rebounds and one assist while logging 24 minutes of game action. Redick told the Orange County Register after the game he wasn't limited physically, but felt "really" rusty.

(4/2/2014) The Clippers return to Staples Center for a three-game homestand Thursday, and they should see the return of some key injured players. According to ESPN.com, guard J.J. Redick (back) is planning to return at some point during the team's home run, possible as soon as Thursday against the Mavericks.

Redick has not played since early February, but has been able to practice over the last few weeks. He has appeared in just 30 games this season due to injury, averaging 15.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

(3/27/2014) Clippers guard J.J. Redick continues to recover from a bulging disc in his back, and still hoping to return to action at some point this season. He told NBA.com Thursday he hopes to play at least three or four games before the postseason, but there are no guarantees are this point.

Redick has not played since early February as a result of the injury, and has appeared in just 30 games total this season. He is averaging 15.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in his first season with the Clippers.

(3/20/2014) Clippers guard J.J. Redick made it through Thursday's practice session without any issues, according to the Orange County Register. He will be re-evaluated on Friday before practice in hopes of returning Saturday against the Pistons.

"I don't have expectations," head coach Doc Rivers said, per the team's official website. "I think he just wants to go and practice and see how he feels. I have no plans right now. We're just going to practice him and see what he can do."

Redick has been sidelined since Feb. 3 due to a bulging disc in his lower back. He is averaging 15.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in his 30 appearances.

(3/12/2014) Clippers guard J.J. Redick has progressed to some light on-court activity, but remains without a timetable to return from a bulging disk in his lower back, per ESPN.com.

Redick has increased his workout regimen, which now includes shooting, but has not progressed enough to where the team can begin eyeing his return. 

Redick was initially shut down three to five weeks in late February as a result of the injury, and has not played since Feb. 3 as a result of the injury.

(2/18/2014) The Clippers already have plenty of experience surviving injuries this season, and their lofty position in the standings allows them to be conservative in bringing players back. According to ESPN.com, that is the plan with guard J.J. Redick, who will be shut down for three to five weeks due to a variety of injuries.

Redick missed the last four games prior to the All-Star break with hip and back injuries, and the report indicates he is also dealing with a shoulder injury. The team plans to shut Redick down so he can be healthy for the playoffs, as he has been limited to just 30 games so far due to injuries.

Redick is averaging 15.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in his 30 appearances.

Before the break, it was reported that Redick would likely be in the lineup Tuesday, but he apparently hasn't healed as quickly as anticipated. He will be missing his fifth straight game with the hip issue. Redick has averaged 15.7 points on 45.9 percent shooting over 30 games played.

(1/31/2014) Clippers guard J.J. Redick was one of the few bright spots on Thursday, as he knocked down four treys in a 111-92 loss to the Warriors.

Three of his four treys came in the first half, including two in the second quarter. Redick scored 12 points on 4 of 11 shooting from the field, including 4 of 6 from 3-point land. He also chipped in with one rebound, one assist and one steal while logging 31 minutes of game action.

Redick has knocked down at least three treys in three consecutive games. He has made 10 of his last 15 3-pointers over that span. He is averaging 16.4 points on 50.0 percent shooting, and 64.0 percent from downtown over his last five games.

(1/25/2014) Clippers guard J.J. Redick was forced to leave Saturday's game against the Raptors due to a shoulder injury, and was limited to just 23 minutes as a result. Fortunately, he was able to return at halftime, and contributed solid production in a 126-118 win.

Redick still managed to score 18 points in his 23 minutes of action, as he shot 7 of 13 from the field and nailed a pair of 3-pointers. He added two rebounds and was held without an assists in the game.

Redick is now averaging 17.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in the month of January.

(1/18/2014) The Los Angeles Times reports that Clippers guards J.J. Redick Darren Collison, and Matt Barnes all suffered injuries in Saturday's loss to the Pacers in Indiana.

Redick has bruised left knee, Collison a sprained left big toe and Barnes a swollen left thumb. X-rays on Barnes' thumb came big back negative, according to ESPN. All three players are probable for Monday's game at Detroit.

It was Redick's first game since Nov. 29 after missing roughly six weeks with a fractured hand and a partially torn ligament in his wrist. He added three rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes of action. Redick has averaged 15.9 points in 18 games played.

(1/10/2014) Clippers guard J.J. Redick confirmed Friday that he will indeed make his return Friday against the Lakers. NBA.com reports that Redick is pain-free after missing 21 games with a fractured hand and partially torn ligament in his wrist.

“That’s the plan,” Redick said. “I’m good to go. I wouldn’t be playing if I wasn’t.”

He averaged 15.9 points in 17 starts before going down with injury in late November.

(1/9/2014) Clippers guard J.J. Redick has been cleared to play following a 21-game absence due to a fractured right hand and torn wrist ligament, NBA.com reports Thursday. Redick will likely make his return to the floor Friday against the Lakers.

"He's been cleared and he looked good the other day, so if that’s true he’s probably going to play," coach Doc Rivers said.

Rivers remains uncertain as to what Redick's role will be upon his return, as he has only been practicing for a few days. Redick was averaging 15.8 points and 2.0 assists per game prior to the injury.
