Timberwolves part ways with Roy

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(5/11/2013) Brandon Roy's career might be over for real this time, after the Timberwolves released the veteran guard Friday. Roy was limited to just five games in his comeback attempt, as continued knee issues dogged him all season long. Roy retired before the 2011-12 season due to his knee injuries, and it is not clear whether he will try to catch on with another team this offseason. The 28-year-old Roy averaged 5.8 points and 4.6 assists in his five games with the Wolves.

Roy not coming back this season

by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com
(4/15/2013) After Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy indicated earlier this month he would like to return before the end of the season, general manager David Kahn squashed that possibility. He also determined the veteran's status with the team after the season as well. "You should assume he will not be playing with us next season," Kahn told the Pioneer Press. "We were hopeful that Brandon would have a significant impact on our team, but we also knew that this could happen because of his injury situation."

Roy still hoping to return this year

by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com
(4/1/2013) Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy (knee) said he has ramped up his activity in workouts over the past two weeks and plans to ask coach Rick Adelman if he can return to the lineup before the end of the season, the Pioneer Press reports. Roy has not played in a game since Nov. 19 because of an ailing right knee.
