Tucker plays through knee soreness

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker was able to play Wednesday against the Clippers, despite being held out of the team's previous practice due to a knee injury. Tucker was in his usual place in the starting lineup, playing 31 minutes in a 126-101 loss. Tucker scored four points on 2 of 5 shooting, with five rebounds and three assists.
Analysis: Tucker has actually been playing a pretty big role for the Suns recently, averaging 9.4 points per game in his previous 10 games. Still, he is averaging 5.9 points per game on the season and has little track record to go on. Fantasy owners should consider him only worth a look in the deepest of Fantasy formats down the stretch.

Tucker unable to practice

News: Phoenix guard P.J. Tucker was unable to practice Monday and his status is in question for Wednesday's game in L.A. against the Clippers, reports ArizonaSports.com. "I got kneed in the back of my knee," said Tucker, who scored a career-high 18 points on Thursday. "I'll be all right. Nothing is broke. I'll be all right."
Analysis: Tucker and coach Lindsey Hunter both believe he'll be fine going forward but we still think he's iffy to play Wednesday. Tucker is averaging 11.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game over his last five. That makes him viable in deeper Fantasy formats, when healthy.

Tucker scores 14 vs. Nets

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker enjoyed another productive performance in Sunday's contest against the Nets. Tucker went 7 of 9 from the field, including 0 of 1 from downtown, as he finished with 14 points and eight rebounds in a 102-100 defeat.
Analysis: Tucker saw 30-plus minutes for the third consecutive game, as he continues to see a boost in his role as of late. He is averaging 11.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in that span. The Suns play three times, including two at home in Week 22 (March 25-31). Tucker is averaging 6.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game at US Airways Center this season. Still, the 27-year-old has been way too inconsistent for Fantasy owners to trust this season. Continue to view him as a low-end Fantasy option in deeper formats down the final stretch of the season.

Tucker fills it up

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker had one of his better all-around games of the season Tuesday against the Lakers, as he scored 13 points in 32 minutes. He added four rebounds and matched a season-high with five assists, while contributing two blocks and a steal in a 91-85 loss. Tucker shot 5 of 10 from the field and made a pair of three-pointers, his first in four games.
Analysis: Tucker has provided some value for the Suns, but it is mostly due to the toughness and defense he brings on the perimeter. He is averaging 7.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game over the last 10 games, and remains just a low-end Fantasy option in deeper formats.

Tucker makes starting contribution

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker started in New Orleans on Wednesday night as he saw 27 minutes in the game. He made a decent contribution in the loss as he scored six points and grabbed five rebounds with a blocked shot. Tucker was 3 for 5 from the field and added an assist and a steal.
Analysis: Tucker produces at a low-end level in just about all Fantasy categories for the Suns. Even as a starter, his numbers are too limited for use in Fantasy leagues outside the deepest of formats.

Tucker stays in double figures

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker turned in a decent performance as he scored in double figures for the second consecutive game Sunday against the Mavericks. Tucker went 4 of 8 shooting from the field and a perfect 4 of 4 from the charity stripe as he finished with 12 points, five rebounds and five assists in a 110-95 defeat. He also chipped in with a steal while logging 34 minute of game action.
Analysis: Tucker is starting to put together some solid performances as it appears that he will get a chance log more minutes with coach Lindsay Hunter taking the reigns. He is averaging 11.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists over his last two games while shooting 46.7 percent from the field over that span. Still, consider him a low-end Fantasy option for now, until he begins to produce at a consistent rate.

Tucker continues to struggle

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker continued his struggles but nearly managed to score in double figures during Thursday's contest against the Bucks. Tucker scored eight points, grabbed four rebounds and handed out three assists in a 98-94 defeat. He went 3 of 7 shooting from the field, including 1 of 2 from downtown, and converted just 1 of 2 from the charity stripe as well. He also chipped in with a steal while logging 22 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Tucker has been held to single-digit scoring in his last six games, including a goose egg Jan. 11 against Brooklyn. He is averaging just 4.5 points on 28.9 (11 of 38) shooting from the field over that six-game stretch. Tucker will need to get going before coach Alvin Gentry places him back on the bench. For now, the Suns are using him primarily for his defense, which gives him just marginal value in deeper formats.

P.J. puts up goose egg

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker remained in the starting lineup Friday against the Nets but did not have a productive outing. He finished with zero points and hauled in eight rebounds in the 99-79 loss. He missed both of his attempt from the field, with one coming from beyond the arc, while playing 29 minutes. Tucker also posted an assist, a steal and a block in the defeat.
Analysis: Tucker was held scoreless for the second time in the last five games Friday and is averaging 6.4 points with 4.6 rebounds and a steal during that stretch. He is shooting 43 percent from downtown in those outings but just 36 percent overall. Tucker starts in Phoenix mainly for his defense and remains a low-end option in the deepest of Fantasy formats.

Tucker to remain starter

News: The Arizona Republic reports Suns coach Alvin Gentry will give P.J. Tucker a second straight start at shooting guard over Shannon Brown Wednesday vs. Philadelphia.
Analysis: Tucker played a season-high 40 minutes during Monday's 114-96 loss at Oklahoma City. He contributed just seven points and six rebounds, but apparently Gentry liked what he saw. If Tucker can remain in the starting lineup, then he might eventually emerge as a Fantasy viable player. But for now he is more of a wait-and-see option.

Tucker returning for Suns

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker was able to get back on the court for Wednesday's contest against the Grizzlies. Tucker, who had two straight games due to a knee injury, did score in the 82-80 win. He missed on both of his field-goal attempts and grabbed two rebounds while logging 10 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Tucker was dealing with a knee issue but is OK to play now. He puts up modest statistics but continues to earn minutes based on his defensive prowess. While Tucker may occasionally light up the scoreboard, he should not be owned in the majority of formats at this point in the year.

Tucker still sitting for Suns

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker missed his second straight game Sunday against the Magic as he continued to deal with a knee injury.
Analysis: Tucker is averaging 4.6 points with 3.6 rebounds on the year and has minimal Fantasy value even when healthy. Continue to ignore him in the majority of formats.

Tucker out in Los Angeles

News: Phoenix guard P.J. Tucker (knee) missed Saturday's game at the Clippers with a knee injury, reports the Arizona Republic. Tucker hopes to play Sunday against Orlando.
Analysis: Tucker has been a surprisingly effective part of the Suns’ rotation this season, providing some toughness out of the wing spots. He is averaging just 4.6 points per game, so even if this injury proves serious, Fantasy owners should continue ignoring him in most formats moving forward.

Tucker suffers knee sprain

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker was forced to leave Thursday's game against the Mavericks, after suffering a sprained MCL in his right knee. He played 15 minutes in the game before leaving, scoring five points on 2 of 5 shooting, with two rebounds. It has not been determined how long he will be out.

Tucker drops career high

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker scored a career-high 15 points on Friday in a win over New Orleans. Tucker shot 5 of 8 from the field and hit two 3-pointers over 34 minutes in the victory. He added seven rebounds and three assists.
Analysis: Tucker scored 11 points in the game previous and is averaging two points more per game over his last week than his scoring average. If he keeps seeing this type of playing time Tucker will become more and more viable in very deep Fantasy formats.

Tucker still seeing minutes

News: Suns guard P.J. Tucker continues to find himself part of coach Alvin Gentry's rotation. Tucker, who last played in the league in 2007, logged 14 minutes off the bench in Phoenix's 124-99 loss to the Heat Monday night. However, he made just one of his field-goal attempts in the blowout loss and finished with four points, two rebounds, one assist and a block in the defeat.
Analysis: Tucker has been playing overseas the past few seasons but was able to win a roster spot with the Suns after turning in a strong training camp. Coach Alvin Gentry likes the versatility the former second-round pick brings to the table, which is why he has been part of the team's early-season rotation. While it is nice to see Tucker work his way back into the league and into some playing time, he is nowhere near ready contribute in Fantasy. Leave Tucker on the waiver wire at this point in the year.

Tucker sent back to D-League

News: Rookie forward P.J. Tucker is back in the minors. The Raptors sent him to the Colorado 14ers of the D-League, the second time the second-round draft pick has been sent down this season.
Analysis: Tucker has no Fantasy value at this time.

Tucker activated by Raptors

News: With forward Andrea Bargnani in Italy visiting a seriously ill relative and Anthony Parker out with an injured ankle, rookie forward P.J. Tucker was active for Saturday's game in Cleveland. It was the first time he was on the active list since returning from a stint in the D League that ended Feb. 3.
Analysis: Regardless, Tucker is clearly too far down the depth chart to rely on in Fantasy play.

P.J. Tucker recalled by Raptors

News: Forward P.J. Tucker has returned to Toronto after a 14-game stay with the Colorado 14ers of the D League.
Analysis: The 2006 second-round draft pick, who averaged 10.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in the minors, was recalled this week and remains on Toronto's inactive roster. Ignore him.

News: The Raptors assigned rookie forward P.J. Tucker to the Colorado 14ers of the NBA Development League on Friday. Tucker averaged 1.5 points and 1.3 rebounds in 16 games. He was drafted in the second round out of the University of Texas.
Analysis: Tucker should only be on rosters in long-term Fantasy leagues at this point.

Tucker earning some respect

News: Raptors rookie forward P.J. Tucker, with two strong outings in a row, is earning the respect of his coaches and his teammates. Undersized as a 6-5 power forward, Tucker had three points and five rebounds against the Clippers on Wednesday and is working his way into a frontcourt rotation spot.
Analysis: Tucker is going to have to post better numbers than three points and five rebounds for him to become a viable Fantasy option.

Tucker gets on the floor

News: Raptors F P.J. Tucker was activated for Sunday's game to replace Chris Bosh and saw his first action since Nov. 29 in Dallas. He had two points in four minutes.

P.J. Tucker picked by Toronto

News: Tucker was selected with the fifth pick in the second round (35th pick overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors.
Analysis: Tucker was the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2006, so the Raptors might be getting quite a steal in the second round to go along with the first overall pick in Andrea Bargnani. So far, it looks like Toronto has done fairly well in on shopping day.
