News: The Cavaliers signed guard Chris Quinn for the remainder of the season on Wednesday, reports NBA.com. Quinn had been playing in the D-League with the Tulsa 66ers.
Analysis: With Dion Waiters missing extended time, the Cavaliers went out and brought in Quinn. He last played in the NBA back in 2010-11 with the Spurs and has also spent time with Miami and the Nets. Quinn has low-end Fantasy value.
News: Spurs G Chris Quinn had his most productive game of the year on Saturday night against the Grizzlies. He scored 10 points in just 12 minutes during the 112-106 overtime win. He went 4 of 7 from the field, including 2 for 4 from downtown and also recorded an assist and a blocked shot. Quinn is averaging 2.1 points with 0.9 assists in 13 games this season.
Analysis: Quinn had an efficient shooting night on Saturday but rarely sees enough playing time to contribute. As long as he is seeing a reserved role in San Antonio, he will continue to have minimal Fantasy value. Leave Quinn off rosters heading into Week 9 (Dec. 20-26).
News: The Spurs signed PG Chris Quinn on Friday, coach Gregg Popovich told the San Antonio Express-News. They released SF Bobby Simmons to make room for him.
Analysis: Quinn spent some time as the starting point guard for the Heat a couple years ago, but he has battled injuries since then. He'll be one of the last guys off the bench for the Spurs and doesn't deserve your attention in Fantasy.
News: The 76ers waived PG Chris Quinn on Thursday. Quinn played a total of 20 minutes this preseason, scoring only two points.
Analysis: Quinn spent some time as the starting point guard for the Heat a couple years ago, but he has battled injuries since then. He didn't really have the talent to start in the first place and is now looking for a job as a bottom-of-the-bench guy. Don't bother with him in Fantasy.
News: The Philadelphia 76ers added free agent PG Chris Quinn to their training camp roster. He will audition for a roster spot in the preseason.
Analysis: Quinn has been a backup point guard throughout his career and doesn't have the upside of a regular starter in the NBA. He is not a player we recommend owning in any Fantasy league this season.
News: Nets G Chris Quinn saw his first action of the NBA season with seven minutes remaining as he scored three points and an added an assist in a loss to the Hawks. Quinn, who had not played for Miami, said he arrived in Atlanta about three hours before the game.
Analysis: Quinn played in 168 games in parts of four seasons with the Heat and didn't play in any of Miami's first 32 games this season. He had a foot injury at the start of the season and hasn't been able to find a spot in the rotation since. He'll surely get some playing time in New Jersey, but not enough to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers.
News: The Heat traded PG Chris Quinn to the Nets on Tuesday, a move that could be a precursor to Rafer Alston's return to South Florida. Alston agreed to a buyout agreement with the Nets earlier Tuesday, and two people familiar with the situation told The Associated Press that the guard is hoping to sign with the Heat later this week. Quinn was sent in exchange for a second-round pick in 2012. "Chris wants to play," agent Mark Bartelstein said. "He's worked hard and would welcome an opportunity to play anywhere."

News: Heat G Chris Quinn, who has yet to play in a game this season, is not being listed on the team's injury report. He remains on the team's inactive list.
Analysis: Quinn dealt with a foot injury coming into the season, but that is no longer the issue. The issue now is that the Heat don't have much minutes to give him. He could be activated at some point in the season, but is not worth owning in Fantasy.
News: Miami PG Chris Quinn (foot) has been inactive for every game this season for the Heat with no sign of his return looming. Consider him out indefinitely for now.
Analysis: We will let you know when Quinn returns to action. You definitely don't need to worry about him in Fantasy play until at least then. Quinn will likely never see Fantasy value this season.

News: Seeking backcourt help going into the playoff run, the Miami Heat agreed to a deal with combo guard Luther Head on Wednesday for the remainder of the season. Head was waived Monday by the Houston Rockets, for whom he played 255 games in his first four NBA seasons. The Heat expected him to formally sign later Wednesday after completing a physical. About a half-dozen teams were seriously interested in signing Head, but the lure of playing time and playoff possibilities prompted him to decide on Miami, which had a roster spot open to make the move. "He's the type of player that fits," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He's got a defensive background with the Houston Rockets. ... They've had a top-five defense there the whole time he's been there. He's got a similar background to our system, which helps. I would probably guess he knows our rules as concepts as well as anybody already."
Analysis: Chris Quinn will likely lose time as a result of Head coming to the Heat. For now, ignore Quinn in all leagues.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn saw late action in Tuesday's loss to Denver as he scored eight points in nine minutes. Quinn was 2-of-3 from the field, all shots coming from long range, and added one board and one assist.
Analysis: Quinn can hit the three but doesn't nearly consistently enough for the Heat for any Fantasy owners to consider owning him at this time.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn played 15 minutes off the bench on Friday in a 103-97 win over the Magic, making three of the five shots he took, converting on both three-point attempts he tried.
Analysis: Quinn gets significant playing time with the Heat as a backup guard, but doesn't do enough in Fantasy to warrant being owned at this time. Leave him on waivers.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn returned to the lineup Monday against the Bobcats after missing one game with an ankle injury. He had nine points and one rebound in 13 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Quinn is the primary backup point guard for the Heat, averaging 7.1 points, 2.5 assists and 19.5 minutes behind rookie starter Mario Chalmers. He has little to no Fantasy appeal at the moment.
News: Heat guard Chris Quinn was held out of Saturday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a sprained left ankle. Quinn rolled the ankle during the preseason and "tweaked" the same joint in practice Friday, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.
Analysis: Both Spoelstra and Quinn said the second-year guard out of Notre Dame should be available when Miami hosts Charlotte on Monday night. Quinn is the primary backup point guard for the Heat, averaging 7.1 points, 2.5 assists and 19.5 minutes behind rookie starter Mario Chalmers. He has little to no Fantasy appeal at the moment.
News: Heat G Chris Quinn had eight points with three assist Monday in a game that went to overtime against the Warriors with Miami scoring 130 points.
Analysis: If Quinn could not find a way to put up a good line in this 130-129 game, he likely will not find himself very productive anytime soon. Leave him on waivers for now.
News: Heat reserve PG Chris Quinn scored 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting in 25 minutes off the bench Tuesday at Washington. He has now scored in double figures in five of his last seven games, finishing with no fewer than nine points during that stretch.
Analysis: Even though Quinn lost the starting job to rookie Mario Chalmers in training camp, the Heat clearly consider him one of their top bench options. As long as he keeps posting consistent numbers, he has some low-end Fantasy appeal.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn was inactive Friday against the Kings. Quinn, who was believed to be the preseason favorite to start, dressed but didn't play in Wednesday's loss at New York.
Analysis: Mario Chalmers has started the first two games at point guard for Miami and will likely continue to star in the role as long as his game doesn't suffer. Until Quinn becomes a lineup regular, he has little to no Fantasy value.
News: The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Mario Chalmers was worked with the first team at point guard Monday, a hint that he may be the opening night starting point guard. "I haven't heard yet," he said. "If I start, I start. If I don't, I don't. I've just got to be ready to play when I step out there" Chris Quinn, who had been the pre-camp favorite to emerge as the starter, said he had worked with the second unit.
Analysis: Coach Erik Spoelstra said he has decided on his starting lineup for Wednesday night's season opener against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, but was "not ready to divulge" that unit. The Heat will start the year against a Knicks team that gave up 103.5 points per game last season, eighth most in the NBA. Their new head coach Mike D'Antoni coached a Phoenix team last season that gave up 105.4 points, five games. They will play a Kings team that allowed 104.8 points and Charlotte gave up 101.3. This should be a good week for the Heat to get their feet wet with a new head coach and some changes in the starting lineup and Chalmers could be useful as a No. 4 guard in leagues of 12-plus teams in a pinch. Quinn seems like a risky play.

Analysis: Chris Quinn enters the season as the starting point guard as he was toward the end of last season. The good matchups this week will make him somewhat appealing in deeper leagues that require four or five guards, but he is expected to split some time with rookie Mario Chalmers and Marcus Banks should see some time both at the point and at shooting guard.
News: Miami PG Chris Quinn was able to start on Saturday against the Magic in preseason action. Quinn scored four points on 2-of-7 shooting over 22 minutes. He had two assists.
Analysis: After many Miami players, including Dwyane Wade, were shut down toward the end of last season because of injuries, Quinn finally got a chance for some regular quality minutes - and took advantage. He averaged 14.4 points and 5.9 assists over the season's final 17 games, shooting 40 percent from 3-point range during that span and having better than a 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. He has an outside shot to start in Miami, but this injury is setting him back in the race. He will have to battle Marcus Banks and rookie Mario Chalmers for the job in the preseason.
News: Heat G Chris Quinn (ankle) was inactive for Thursday's preseason game against New Jersey played in Paris and Sunday's game against the Nets played in London. He is still considered day to day. Quinn tweaked his ankle in the preseason opener against Detroit.

News:The Sports Xchange notes that Chris Quinn, a restricted free agent, is still weighing his options. The Heat would like to have him back to provide depth at point guard along with Marcus Banks and Mario Chalmers.

News:Chris Quinn, who has spent the past two seasons with the Heat, is playing the waiting game this summer. He's seen Miami fill holes on its roster through the draft and free agency - the Heat got forward Michael Beasley and point guard Mario Chalmers on draft night, then added sharpshooting wing James Jones on Wednesday. Quinn is unsure of where he'll be this fall. "I am not sure what I will do yet," Quinn said Thursday. "There are some other teams interested, but I would love to be back in Miami."

News: Heat G Chris Quinn started 25 games for Miami with the team dealing with so many injuries in the second half of the season. He averaged 11.6 points, 4.9 assists and 3.0 rebounds in those games. Quinn also shot at a 40.0 percent clip from beyond the arc in those games, making 1.5 three-pointers per game.
Analysis: Quinn will be a restricted free agent this offseason, meaning the Heat will have the chance to match any offer sheet. He proved valuable to the team and put up decent numbers down the stretch despite playing with Miami's "C" team for the most part. Jason Williams is an unrestricted free agent and may not return to Miami, but the Heat will likely try another avenue to fill the starting role. Quinn has an outside shot to start, but it's a slim possibility at this point. Monitor the offseason happenings out of Miami.
News: Heat G Chris Quinn has scored in double-figures in a career-best eight consecutive games. Quinn, a second-year player from Notre Dame, is a free agent at season's end.
Analysis: Quinn has played well with all the injuries in Miami. Look for Quinn to be a backup somewhere next year of in Miami, but where he ends up could determine his Fantasy value.
News: Heat guard Chris Quinn is making just under $700,000 this season. He will be a free agent this summer and will command more next year, especially after the way he's played in Miami's past 13 games. Sure, the Heat are 3-10 in those contests. But Quinn has shone through, averaging 15.1 points and 5.7 assists, with nearly a 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio during that stretch. And numbers like those have shown the Heat - probably some other NBA teams as well - that he's at least a more-than-capable backcourt player. "He's in a spot in free agency to have some demands," Heat coach Pat Riley said. "I'm very interested in bringing a guy like Quinny back. Those are the guys you want to have around."
Analysis: Quinn has played well with all the injuries in Miami. Keep him active at this time and hope for more outings like this as the season comes to a close. Depending on where he ends up next season, Quinn could make an impact as a low-end reserve in Fantasy leagues if he gets enough playing time.
News: Heat guard Chris Quinn remains a productive Fantasy option after getting 16 points, six assists and three rebounds Tuesday against Chicago.
Analysis: Quinn has played well with all the injuries in Miami. Keep him active at this time and hope for more outings like this as the season comes to a close.
News: Point guard Jason Williams, who has been sidelined by a sprained thumb, was on the active roster for Sunday's game against Detroit, although not in the starting lineup. Chris Quinn continues to start in his place.
Analysis: Williams averaged a season-high 13.7 points in March before going down with the injury and had taken on an increased workload with Dwayne Wade out for the season. With Miami's season in such disarray, we just think Williams is too risky to take a chance on in the final scoring period of the regular season in most formats. Chris Quinn has played well in his place, but is now less appealing with Williams around to take his minutes.
News: Heat coach Pat Riley said after Friday's game that G Jason Williams, who's missed the last seven games with a sprained right thumb, wants to play on Sunday against Detroit. Chris Quinn has been starting -- and playing relatively well -- in his place.
Analysis: Williams averaged a season-high 13.7 points in March before going down with the injury and had taken on an increased workload with Dwayne Wade out for the season. With Miami's season in such disarray, we just think Williams is too risky to take a chance on in the final scoring period of the regular season. This news also makes Quinn a risky play.
News: Heat G Chris Quinn had 18 points with nine assists and seven rebounds in Wednesday's loss to New Orleans. He shot 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and now has four straight games with at least one three-pointer. He's averaging 13.4 ppg, 7.2 apg and 5.0 rpg over his last five.
Analysis: Quinn continues to start with Jason Williams out due to a thumb injury. He has played very efficiently and is very likely to finish out the season in the starting lineup. He's worth adding in any format at this stage if you are in need of a stopgap.
News: Heat guard Chris Quinn went for 14 points, eight assists and four rebounds Sunday at Boston.
Analysis: Quinn continues to play well with starter Jason Williams (thumb) out. Keep Quinn active as a low-end Fantasy guard at this time.
News: Heat G Chris Quinn continues to start for the Heat in place of injured starter Jason Williams. His performances have been up-and-down.
Analysis: Quinn had 24 points on Monday against Milwaukee, but just nine points Wednesday at the Knicks. His days as a starter could be numbered, but he's worth taking a flier on in deeper leagues as the Heat don't have much of a reason to rush Williams back.
News: With the Heat having just seven healthy players at their disposal Wednesday at Toronto, Chris Quinn was forced to play all 48 minutes of the game. He finished with 14 points, five rebounds and three assists. He shot 5-for-14 from the field and 0-for-6 from beyond the arc.
Analysis: Quinn has no played a significant role in back-to-back games. He's going to be in a situation where he'll see good minutes down the stretch and could be a sleeper for help in the three-point categories for Rotisserie owners despite what the 0-for-6 stat suggests.
News:Jason Williams and Ricky Davis had double-doubles, Chris Quinn hit three crucial 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, and the Miami Heat snapped an 0-for-March streak with a 112-106 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night. Quinn was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field and hit both of his free throws on his way to 17 points. He also had one rebound and four assists.
Analysis: Quinn scored a total of 19 points in his previous five games. He has seen a steady flow of minutes off the bench since Dwayne Wade went out of the lineup, but unless he hits the 3-ball, Quinn doesn't score a lot of points. He still has little to no Fantasy value.
News: The Heat were forced to use just seven players in Friday's 134-99 loss to Golden State due to various injuries. That allowed Chris Quinn to see 34 minutes of playing time off the bench and he scored 20 points thanks to 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc.
Analysis: The Heat will continue to be strapped in the final month of the regular season, but likely not to the extent that they were on Friday. For now, count this as just a solitary performance.
News: Heat G Chris Quinn had no points and 3 rebounds in Thursday's loss at Houston. He shot 0-for-2 from the field and has scored just 2 points in his last two appearances.
Analysis: Quinn finds himself third on the team's depth chart at the point guard slot and is not in a position to contribute much from a Fantasy standpoint. He's a decent outside shooter, but isn't seeing enough minutes to contribute in that category either.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn scored nearly half of his points from the free-throw line Wednesday against the Magic. Quinn finished with 14 points and went 6 of 8 from the charity stripe. He also had one rebound and one assist.
Analysis: Quinn went 10 games without scoring in double figures before dropping 14 Wednesday. He has scored in double figures six times this season, but mostly plays a limited role for the Heat. He has little to no Fantasy value at this time.
News: Heat G Chris Quinn, who entered Friday's game at Dallas averaging 5.3 points per game, registered a double-digit scoring total for the sixth time in nine games, reports The Sports Xchange.
Analysis: With Jason Williams sidelined, Quinn has been picking up most of White Chocolate's minutes. He is only worth using as a temporary stop-gap in deeper leagues at this point.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn, out for five straight games with a sprained ankle, returned to action Wednesday against the Bucks. In fact, he started, getting 12 points, two rebounds and four assists in 39 minutes of play.
Analysis: Quinn was starting before his injury too, but with Jason Williams currently sidelined, who knows into what role Quinn will ultimately settle? For now, he deserves a flier in Fantasy, but don't count on him as a long-term solution to your need at point guard.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn (ankle) remained unavailable for Saturday's game at Washington. He has now missed five straight games.
Analysis: Quinn suffered an ankle sprain Thursday vs. New Jersey and could miss another couple of games. When he returns, he may or may not continue to start, but he'll have low-end Fantasy value even if he does.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn (ankle) remained unavailable for Friday's game against the Magic. He has now missed four straight games.
Analysis: Quinn suffered an ankle sprain Thursday vs. New Jersey and could miss another couple of games. When he returns, he may or may not continue to start, but he'll have low-end Fantasy value even if he does.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn (ankle) remained unavailable for Wednesday's game at Philadelphia. He has now missed three straight games.

News: Heat PG Chris Quinn (ankle) remained unavailable for Tuesday's game at Cleveland. He has now missed two straight games.
Analysis: Quinn suffered an ankle sprain Thursday vs. New Jersey and could miss another couple of games. When he returns, he may or may not continue to start. Jason Williams, though, should continue to see the majority of the point guard minutes in Miami.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn (ankle) was unavailable for Saturday's game vs. Utah.
Analysis: Quinn suffered an ankle sprain Thursday vs. New Jersey and could miss another couple of games. When he returns, he may or may not continue to start. Jason Williams, though, should continue to see the majority of the point guard minutes in Miami.
News: Heat guard Chris Quinn sprained his left ankle with 2 1/2 minutes left in the third quarter Thursday against the Nets. He had to be helped into the locker room and did not return. X-rays were negative. Quinn, who started, failed to score in 13 minutes. He had two rebounds and three assists.
Analysis: Quinn has seen his minutes diminish in recent games with the return of Jason Williams, but whenever J-Will is out, Quinn will start for the Heat. He is merely a stopgap Fantasy option when on a roll.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn scored a career-high 22 points Thursday vs. Washington, shotting 6-for-10 from 3-point range. He played 33 minutes off the bench and was 7-for-13 from the field.
Analysis: Quinn was back on the bench with Jason Williams back from injury, but he saw most of the minutes at the point with Williams looking a little rusty. Quinn's minutes will eventually decline, but he can be scooped up as a decent stopgap in larger leagues. Three-point shooters have fared well in Miami in the past.
News: Heat second-year PG Chris Quinn has averaged 39 minutes and 12.5 points over the last two games as he has moved into the starting PG job in Miami with Jason Williams nursing an ankle injury at the moment.
Analysis: Williams might be back on Thursday night vs. Washington, but Quinn should continue to get decent minutes with Smush Parker suspended indefinitely. Keep an eye on his stats the rest of this week and start him in Fantasy Week 8 if you see his stats remain solid and need help at the PG position.
News: Heat PG Jason Williams sprained his ankle Friday at Golden State and didn't play the second half. He finished with eight points and six assists in 19 minutes.
Analysis: This one doesn't sound too serious, so we won't sound the alarm just yet. Williams hasn't been a model of health over his career anyway. He had played well enough in recent days to merit consideration as a No. 4 guard in Fantasy, but reserve him for now.
News: The Heat shook up their lineup on Tuesday night, starting Chris Quinn at point guard and Penny Hardaway at small forward with Jason Williams and Ricky Davis coming off the bench.
Analysis: Quinn played a season-high 20 minutes, but he scored a season-low zero points --something he's done in five of his eight appearances. This move seems to be more of an inspirational tactic for Jason Williams than anything else and we would not go crazy picking up Quinn in Fantasy leagues. He's a decent outside shooter, but there is little upside here.
News: Heat PG Chris Quinn did not play in Friday's loss to Phoenix, his second DNP-coach's decision in six games to start the season. He's averaging just 6.8 minutes per contest.
Analysis: Quinn is as low-end as it gets in Fantasy play. He should remain on the end of the bench, but could have some measure of success beyond the arc down the line.
News: Chris Quinn knows the Miami Heat have spent plenty of time this offseason trying to add another point guard. Over the next week, he gets to audition for a piece of that job. Quinn will be the primary ball handler for Miami's entry in this season's Orlando summer league, a six-team event that opens Monday. The second-year pro from Notre Dame is the only member of Miami's current NBA roster on its summer squad.
Analysis: Undrafted a year ago, he signed with the Heat last July and played in four summer league games, putting up extremely modest numbers - 3.8 points on 31 percent shooting, with five assists and three turnovers in 59 minutes. But he showed enough court savvy to merit a training camp invitation and made the Heat's regular season roster. Quinn played sparingly in 42 games, averaging 9.7 minutes, 3.4 points and 1.5 assists with three double-digit scoring efforts. It's unlikely he'll get more minutes next year, so don't plan on drafting him for your Fantasy team.
News: Heat G Chris Quinn averaged just 3.4 ppg and 1.5 apg in 42 appearances during the 2006-07 regular season.
Analysis: Quinn is as low-end as it gets in Fantasy play. He should remain on the end of the bench, but could have some measure of success beyond the arc.
News: Chris Quinn, the rookie from Notre Dame, figures to get the minutes vacated by injured point guard Gary Payton, and coach Pat Riley said he's got faith in the youngster. "He's worked hard and he's improved," Riley said. "In training camp and also at the beginning of the season, he wasn't making his shot. In the preseason games, he was a little bit nervous and he just wasn't making shots. But he's a very good shooter, he's crafty with the ball and he takes care of the ball."
Analysis: Quinne remains a very low-end Fantasy option, but is a player to be watched in deeper leagues. It is probably too late for him to make any Fantasy noise.
News: Chris Quinn didn't play Wednesday after starting Monday against Charlotte and having a career-best game. Gary Payton, who was suspended for the Charlotte game, started against Boston.
Analysis: Quinn is not a viable Fantasy option, as he's too far down the depth chart at this time.
News: Rookie Chris Quinn, who made his first career start in place of the injured Jason Williams (abdominal) and suspended Gary Payton, finished with 14 points and five assists in Monday's game against the Bobcats.
Analysis: Despite the solid game, the first-year Quinn is far more valuable to his real team than to Fantasy owners.
News: Wednesday was a lucrative day for Heat rookies Chris Quinn and Robert Hite, according to the Miami Herald. It was the day all NBA contracts were guaranteed for the remainder of the season. Quinn and Hite will each earn $412,718.
Analysis: Quinn, a point guard out of Notre Dame, had played in 18 games entering Wednesday. Hite, a former University of Miami star, played in 12 games. Both guards have provided depth for a backcourt that has been depleted by injuries. Neither is a viable Fantasy option.
News: Heat rookie point guard Chris Quinn had a good showing on Friday with nine points, five assists and no turnovers at Washington.
Analysis: Quinn is too far down the team's depth chart to rely on in Fantasy leagues at this time.
News: Heat C Earl Barron, G Chris Quinn and G Robert Hite all dressed but did not play on Thursday against the Pistons.
Analysis: None of these players are recommended Fantasy options at this time.
News: Jason Kapono and Chris Quinn started off with one basket each in Tuesday's regular season opener against the Bulls. Quinn was also good for three assists in the loss.
Analysis: The Heat were spanked by 42 points, the worst loss by a defending champ in an opener in NBA history. The Heat will look to rebound on Friday night against the Nets, but Kapono and Quinn are only worth a look in larger Fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams at this point.
News: The Heat didn't practice Sunday, taking the day instead to travel to Puerto Rico, where they'll practice Monday. Miami coach Pat Riley has indicated that many of the Heat's regulars - including Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade - won't log major minutes during the preseason, meaning there will likely be ample opportunity for younger players to make their mark.
Analysis: The Heat will have a pretty set rotation heading into the season and the Fantasy stars remain Shaq and Wade. Still, the possibility of added playing time in the preseason is something that shouldn't be ignored. It during the preseason that Udonis Haslem was able to establish himself as an everyday starter. Monitor the progress of young players like Dorrell Wright and and Wayne Simien and keep them in mind in deeper formats.
