Nene among four Wizards suspended for leaving the bench

(10/8/2014) The NBA has suspended Wizards forward Nene, centers DeJuan Blair and Daniel Orton and guard Xavier Silas for the opening game of the regular season for leaving the bench during a preseason altercation between Paul Pierce and Joakim Noah.

All four players will miss the opener against Miami on Oct. 29 and will be eligible to return Oct. 30 against the Magic.


Wizards make final cuts

(10/24/2013) The Wizards have released shooting guard Xavier Silas on Thursday, according to USA Today. Silas played in only three preseason games and totaled only 10 minutes of game action this preseason. He averaged 4.0 points per game.

Washington also released Pops Mensah-Bonsu and Josh Childress.
