News: The Hawks have added G Thomas Gardner and F Othello Hunter for training camp. They will put added pressure on G Mario West, F Jeremy Richardson and C Solomon Jones in their quest to maintain their spots.
Analysis: None of the players mentioned here are going to be in line for considerable playing time anytime soon. Leave them on the waiver wire in all Fantasy leagues until further notice. They've got some depth chart climbing to do.
News: The Atlanta Hawks signed guard Jeremy Richardson for the rest of the season, general manager Billy Knight said Monday.
Analysis: Richardson was signed earlier to two 10-day contracts with Atlanta and appeared in nine games, averaging 3 points and 6.6 minutes. He has very little Fantasy appeal at this time.
News: The Atlanta Hawks signed guard Jeremy Richardson to a 10-day contract Monday, restoring their roster to 13 players after sending four to the Sacramento Kings in a trade for point guard Mike Bibby. The 6-foot-7 Richardson has played eight games this season with the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs and 12 games with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League. With Fort Wayne, he averaged 25.4 ppg, 6.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals. Richardson played in five games for the Hawks last year after signing two 10-day contracts, averaging 1.6 points and 0.4 rebounds. He also played in one game for the Portland Trail Blazers in 2006-07. In 14 career NBA games, he has 18 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Analysis: Richardson has minimal Fantasy value at this time and should not be used in any Fantasy leagues unless he picks up his play with the Hawks in the next few games.
News: Spurs SF Jeremy Richardson, who was with the Heat in training camp and thought he'd done enough to win a roster spot in Miami, was inactive for San Antonio Thursday against Miami. He's on a second 10-day contract with the Spurs.
Analysis: Richardson hasn't played in four of the last five games for the Spurs. He might soon be without a job and shouldn't be added in Fantasy leagues at this time.
News: A day after the Spurs re-signed SF Jeremy Richardson to a second 10-day contract, the second-year swingman got his first career start. He played center and scored three points in 12 minutes.
Analysis: Richardson isn't a true center and, with Fabricio Oberto and Francisco Elson on the team, doesn't figure to start often. Leave him on waivers in all but the deepest of leagues.
News: The San Antonio Spurs on Thursday signed guard/forward Jeremy Richardson. The 6-foot-7 Richardson played three games with the Memphis Grizzlies after being signed in late December. He was waived Jan. 7. Before his stint with Memphis, Richardson averaged a league-high 28.5 points for Fort Wayne of the NBA Development League.
Analysis: Richardson was one of the Miami Heat's final cuts in the preseason, and has also played for the Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers. A Delta State graduate, the 23-year-old Richardson spent most of last season in the D-League, with Fort Worth. He has little to no Fantasy value at this time.
News: Penny Hardaway is officially back in the NBA, after the Miami Heat placed him on their season-opening roster Monday. The Heat released guards Jeremy Richardson and Brian Chase, along with forwards Marcus Slaughter and Devin Green to reach the league-mandated 15-man limit.
Analysis: Hardaway isn't worth picking up in even the deepest of Fantasy leagues at this point, but it is good to see him back in the NBA. If he starts getting some serious minutes in Miami and remains healthy, then maybe start keeping an eye on him.
News: Miami's summer league team began practice Thursday, with three new free agent signees in center Joel Anthony, guard Jeremy Richardson and forward Marcus Slaughter. Each was believed to have signed a partially guaranteed one-year deal with a team option for the second season.
Analysis: Richardson, a 6-7, 190-pound player out of Delta State, played sparingly in six NBA games last season with Atlanta and Portland and averaged 17.6 points in 33 games with Fort Worth of the NBA Development League. He has minimal Fantasy appeal.
News: Blazers forward Jeremy Richardson, added to the roster on a 10-day contract 10 days ago, was scoreless in 59 seconds in his only appearance in a Portland uniform Sunday. He will be waived Monday.
Analysis: Richardson has no Fantasy value at this time.
News: Small forward Jeremy Richardson looked good in his NBA debut, scoring five points on 2-for-3 shooting in just under eight minutes of action.
Analysis: Richardson only played because Salim Stoudamire had to be placed on the inactive list prior to the game. Keep him on the waiver wire for now.
News: Hawks F Jeremy Richardson, signed to a 10-day contract Saturday, made his debut with five points against the Warriors Wednesday.
Analysis: Richardson has no Fantasy value seeing how he could be off the team in just a few more days.
News: Recently signed Richardson was unable to dress for Monday's game against the Magic.
Analysis: When he is able to play, Richardson's Fantasy value is negligible.
