"It's no time to get to 100 percent," he said. "You just go out there and give it your best."

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4/22/2015) Trail Blazers guard Arron Afflalo (shoulder) and center Chris Kaman (ankle) will not play in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Grizzlies Wednesday, per the team's digital reporter.

Afflalo was seen warming up on the court before the game, but it appears he's not quite ready to return from the shoulder injury that has cost him four straight games, including Game 1 Sunday. Kaman turned an ankle at practice Tuesday and will miss Wednesday's action after playing 14 minutes in Game 1.

The Blazers are 6-point underdogs in Memphis for Game 2 after losing Game 1 by 14 points.

by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer

Afflalo suffered a right shoulder strain late in the season and missed the last three games of the regular season while recovering. When asked by CSNNW if he would be available for Game 2, Afflalo said, "Yeah, I'm good."

Afflalo averaged 13.3 points during 78 regular-season games.

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(4/19/2015) Trail Blazers guard Arron Afflalo will not play against the Grizzlies in Sunday's playoff-opener, according to the team's website.

Afflalo was able to go through pre-game warmups at full speed but unable to go due to a shoulder injury. This was expected as he was doubtful heading into the game. Afflalo missed the last three games of the regular season with the injury.

The Trail Blazers are 5 1/2-point underdogs against the Grizzlies.

Trail Blazers list guard Arron Afflalo as doubtful for Sunday's game

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(4/18/2015) The Trail Blazers have listed guard Arron Afflalo as doubtful for Sunday's opening round game against the Grizzlies with a shoulder injury, the team announced.

Afflalo missed the final three games of the regular season with the injury. If he is unable to go, CJ McCollum would likely fill in. Also listed on the injury report are Alonzo Gee (foot) as questionable, McCollum (ankle), Nicolas Batum (knee) and Chris Kaman (back) as probable.

The Trail Blazers are currently 5 1/2-point underdogs against Memphis

Allen Crabbe could get start for Trail Blazers in Game 1

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(4/17/2015) Shooting guard Allen Crabbe could get the call to start the first game of the Trail Blazers' playoff series against Memphis, per Oregon Live.

Assuming Arron Afflalo remains out with a shoulder injury, coach Terry Stotts likes Crabbe's fit in the lineup better than C.J. McCollum, who started the last three games of the season.

"I think Allen complements Damian (Lillard) and (LaMarcus Aldridge)," Stotts said, "as far as being defensive minded, not needing shots, not needing the ball."

"We need to be good at both ends of the court and it needs to mesh at both ends of the court," Stotts added. "And Allen brings a defensive mindset. And I think you've seen he's shooting the ball with confidence. It's not like he can't play offense. There are players in the league who come in and they're strictly defenders. But he was a scorer in college and he can help us at the offensive end. I think he plays off the ball a little bit more, whereas CJ plays with the ball. I think it's all about trying to maximize what each guy can bring."

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(4/15/2015) Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum and guard CJ McCollum said they intend to play in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals, reports The Oregonian.

Batum will miss Wednesday's season finale because of a knee contusion he suffered during Monday's game, while McCollum will be held out Wednesday because of an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, guard Arron Afflalo was unsure if he'd be ready to play in Game 1, reports the team's official website. Afflalo is dealing with a right shoulder sprain, which was expected to keep him sidelined for 1-2 weeks.

(4/10/2015) MRI results for the Trail Blazers' Arron Afflalo on Friday revealed a right shoulder strain which will sideline the guard for one to two weeks, the team reports.

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(4/10/2015) Trail Blazers guard Arron Afflalo sustained an arm injury during Thursday's game and he is set to undergo medical tests to determine the severity of the injury, reports The Oregonian.

Afflalo said he felt pain behind his arm near the shoulder and triceps area, but said he was not really worried about the injury.

His status for Saturday's game against the Jazz will be determined once the injury has been diagnosed.

Blazers' Arron Afflalo exits game Thursday with arm injury

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4/10/2015) Trail Blazers shooting guard Arron Afflalo headed back to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Thursday's game against the Warriors with an apparent injury.

Afflalo was checked out on the bench by the training staff during a timeout before heading back to the locker room for further evaluation. He scored eight points on 4 of 6 shooting in 27 minutes before the injury. The team's training staff classified the issue as a "right arm injury" after the game, per the team's digital reporter. The team said that Afflalo would undergo further evaluation Friday.

Blazers guard Arron Afflalo has no issues with reserve role

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/22/2015) Although Trail Blazers guard Arron Afflalo has been a starter for most of his career, he said he has no issues with coming off the bench, reports The Oregonian.

"Obviously, this group here was a very good team before I got here. And they've had great chemistry together," Afflalo said. "With the in-season trade, I don't think [starting] matters. I think you just come in here, you play your role, and you do what it takes to help the team win."

Afflalo was acquired by the Blazers during a trade deadline deal with the Nuggets and he said he'll do whatever it takes to contribute to the team's success.

"I look at myself as a person that gives a team what it needs," he said. "If this team needs depth, if it needs scoring off the bench, if it needs a defensive stopper for segments, that's what I'm going to be."

Nuggets, Blazers trade not great for Fantasy owners

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(2/19/2015) The Trail Blazers made move that has a good chance of improving their playoff standing down the stretch, but Fantasy owners probably aren't too happy about the team's acquisition of Arron Afflalo Thursday. At the Fantasy Basketball Today blog, I broke down what the trade could mean for Afflalo and Nicolas Batum, and it isn't pretty:

"Afflalo can spell both wing spots and do a passable imitation of either Batum or Matthews, so he should see a decent amount of minutes. However, even if Batum settles in around 28 per game, that doesn't leave much room for Afflalo to get to the 30-minute threshold, and I would bet he doesn't. His best Fantasy season came as a go-to scorer on a bad Magic team, and he hasn't come close to replicating that on a much deeper Nuggets team. This Blazers team has little room for an extra scorer, so Afflalo takes a hit here.

In the end, you probably see both Afflalo and Batum slide down the rankings. Afflalo was just 49th in Fantasy points per game at the forward position before the trade, and is an easy bet to fall out of the top-50 moving forward. He has little value if you play him at guard, and is probably just a reserve at forward as well. Batum probably falls from 34th out of the top-40 at forward, a precipitous decline for a guy who was a borderline No. 1 forward a year ago."

Afflalo could be droppable in many Fantasy leagues, while Batum's bad season has only gotten worse.

Nuggets send Arron Afflalo, Alonzo Gee to Blazers

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/19/2015) The Nuggets agreed to trade guard Arron Afflalo and forward Alonzo Gee to the Trail Blazers, league sources confirmed to CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger.

In exchange for Afflalo and Gee, the Trail Blazers will send Will Barton, Victor Claver and a 2016 lottery-protected first-round pick to Denver. If the pick is not traded by 2017, it would turn into two second-round picks. The Nuggets will also receive Thomas Robinson.

Report: Nuggets wants multiple draft picks for Afflalo, Chandler

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/19/2015) If the Nuggets are to trade guard Arron Afflalo or forward Wilson Chandler, the team is seeking multiple draft picks, sources told ESPN.

The Nuggets are seeking a first-round and second-round pick for Afflalo, while the team wants two first-round picks for Chandler.

Report: 'Late chargers' enter mix for Nuggets' Arron Afflalo

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(2/18/2015) The Nuggets are weighing offers for shooting guard Arron Afflalo Wednesday night, with some "late chargers" joining the mix, Yahoo! Sports reports.

The Blazers, who were reported earlier Wednesday to be close to acquiring Afflalo in exchange for a first-round pick, remain a strong candidate to end up with the shooting guard. He scored just six points in each of his final three games before the All-Star break but has averaged 14.5 points on 42.8 percent shooting in 53 games.

Report: Blazers close to acquiring Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/18/2015) The Trail Blazers are reportedly close to acquiring Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo for a first-round pick, sources told ESPN.

Afflalo will be an unrestricted free agent after the season. In 53 games, Afflalo is averaging 14.5 points and 3.4 assists.

Report: Blazers prefer Nuggets' Wilson Chandler to Arron Afflalo

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(2/17/2015) The Trail Blazers are on the search for a wing player before the trade deadline, and they've shown a stronger desire to deal with the Nuggets for Wilson Chandler than Arron Afflalo, Yahoo! Sports reports.

Part of the reason that the Blazers are more inclined to pursue Chandler is that he's already under contract next season. The team has made a future first-round pick, Will Barton and Thomas Robinson available in its pursuit for an upgrade on the wings, though the Blazers are more likely to put together a better package for Chandler than Afflalo, per the report.

Chandler has averaged 13.9 points and 6.0 rebounds in 52 games while shooting 42.0 percent from the field.

Report: Clippers trying to use Crawford to land first-round pick

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(2/17/2015) The Clippers have "probed the market" with shooting guard Jamal Crawford in an attempt to land a first-round pick to then swap for a wing player, Yahoo! Sports reports.

If successful, the Clippers would use the pick to make a competitive offer for Nuggets wing players Wilson Chandler or Arron Afflalo, per the report. The Clippers also continue to have an interest in Suns shooting guard Gerald Green. The Clippers also scouted Hornets shooting guard Lance Stephenson but decided to move on without making a serious pursuit.

Crawford has averaged 16.0 points on 39.1 percent shooting in 53 games.

Kings targeting Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/17/2015) The Kings are working to reunite Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo with new coach George Karl, CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger confirms. Bleacher Report had the initial report.

Karl coached Afflalo while both were in Denver. Afflalo has been rumored to be on the trade market, with the Thunder, Heat, Kings, Bulls and Clippers expressing interest. In 53 games, Afflalo is averaging 14.5 points and 3.4 rebounds.

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/16/2015) Along with the Kings, Bulls and Clippers, the Thunder have also discussed trading for Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo, reports ESPN.com.

Afflalo has a player option for the 2015-16 season. If he chooses to bypass the option, he’ll become a free agent this summer. In 53 games, Afflalo is averaging 14.5 points and 3.4 rebounds.
