Afflalo sustained the injury in the second quarter and had to be carried to the locker room by teammates. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game and finished with six points and three rebounds prior to leaving the contest.
Analysis: Afflalo looked to be in a great deal of pain as he left the court and we all know how tricky hamstring injuries can be. The 27-year-old was already forced to miss six consecutive games earlier in the year with a left calf issue, so hopefully this turns out to be minor thing. Afflalo entered Friday's contest averaging 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists, making him a viable start in the majority of formats when healthy.

Afflalo played 33 minutes on Tuesday and shot just 3 of 13 from the field. He added three rebounds, three assists and a block in the game.
Analysis: The Magic have won just two games in Afflalo's last 11 but it isn't do to his poor effort. Afflalo has played well over that span, averaging 17.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and almost a 3-pointer per game. Fantasy owners know they have Afflalo for his ability to contribute all around and that is what he continues to do.

While he isn't the most efficient scorer, Afflalo has been a model of consistency for the most part this season. Fantasy owners should continue to roll with the 27-year-old as a viable option in most formats moving forward.
News: Magic guard Arron Afflalo entered Sunday's contest against the Grizzlies shooting nearly 46 percent in his previous five contests. Analysis: Afflalo had picked up his scoring of late as he entered Sunday averaging 17.2 points in the last five games. He also put up 5.4 assists and five rebounds during that stretch. The 27-year-old continues to have a career campaign in his first season in Denver and remains a viable option in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: With the Magic trading away swing man J.J. Redick to the Bucks at last Thursday's trade deadline, guard Arron Afflalo knows he is going to have to shoulder most of the scoring load for the remainder of the season. Affalo, who entered Tuesday's tilt at Philadelphia averaging a team-high 16.8 points per game, said he thinks the challenge will be more mental rather than physical. "Handling a bigger load, I think that's more of a mental aspect to it. It's a challenge. It's fun. But I think the load is more mental. And physically, only so much a player can do," Afflalo told the Orlando Sentinel.
Analysis: Afflalo is already putting the best offensive season of his career together this year with the Magic, but he could see his scoring increase even more over the final few weeks. Three of Orlando's top three scorers when the season first started are either hurt or have been traded away, which leaves Affalo has one of the only healthy proven scorers on the roster. He entered Tuesday tilt versus the 76ers averaging 18.8 points on 50 percent shooting from the field over his previous four games and is also giving owners 4.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds over that span. Fantasy owners should continue to roll with Afflalo as a viable start in all formats moving forward.
News: Magic guard Arron Afflalo turned in another solid performance as he was able to fill up the stat sheet Friday night against the Grizzlies. Afflalo went 8 of 16 shooting from the field, including 2 of 5 from downtown, and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. He finished with 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds in a 88-82 defeat. He also chipped in with two blocked shots and a steal while logging 44 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Afflalo scored 20-plus points for the 15th time this season and has averaged 16.8 points 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 56.0 percent from the field in the last five games played. Analysis: Afflalo has enjoyed a career campaign thus far as his stats are up across the board. He averaged 16.6 points with 3.8 rebounds and three assists through his first 46 games of the season and appears primed for a solid run down the stretch. Keep the 27-year-old active as a viable option in most Fantasy formats.

He scored 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting in the 119-108 loss. He went 2 for 6 from beyond the arc and made all three of his free throws while playing 36 minutes. Afflalo also posted four rebounds and three assists in the defeat.
Analysis: Afflalo entered Friday averaging a career-best 16.7 points on the year as he has become more of an offensive threat in his first season in Orlando. His calf injury appears to be a thing of the past so owners should feel free to get him active in Fantasy again. While the 27-year-old does not contribute a ton on other categories, Afflalo remains a viable option in most formats for his ability to score.
News: After not taking the court for nearly two weeks, Magic guard Arron Afflalo is slated to return for Friday's game at Cleveland, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Afflalo has been out since Jan. 27 due to a strained left calf and also attended to a personal matter earlier this week. "Im excited," Afflalo, the team's leading scorer, said. "Ive had a chance to sit back and watch a little bit, get healthy, but hopefully I can come back and provide a certain spark and get things moving in a positive direction for whatever reason."
Analysis: Afflalo missed six consecutive games with the issues, but said he is no longer experiencing soreness in his calf and will look to help the Magic halt an 11-game losing streak. The 27-year-old is averaging a career-high 16.7 points per game this season as he has benefited from additional playing time with Orlando. Consider him a solid Fantasy option in most formats during his return.

The 27-year-old has served as a key member of the starting lineup and is posting a career-high 16.7 points per game. Provided the opportunity for additional minutes with Orlando, Afflalo is averaging roughly 14 shots a night. Consider him a viable Fantasy option when healthy, though he's a risky start for Week 15 (Feb. 4-10).

Afflalo has missed the last four games and remains day to day with the injury. J.J. Redick remains the starter in Afflalos place.
Analysis: Afflalo continues to miss time, despite the injury not considered to be serious, so we'll have to keep an eye on his status, especially if he missed any time during Week 15 (Feb. 4-10). The Magic will play at Philadelphia Monday night, which will give the 27-year-old a few days of rest. Afflalo is averaging 16.7 points per game this season, and should be viewed as a solid Fantasy option, when healthy.

Analysis: Afflalo's injury is not being considered serious, so hopefully he will only be out for just this one game. Fantasy owners in daily formats should keep an eye on his status moving forward to see when he will be able to get back on the court. Despite his most recent shooting slump, Afflalo has been putting up career numbers in Orlando and can be considered a viable start in most formats when healthy.
News: Magic guard Arron Afflalo is listed as day to day after suffering a strained left calf during the fourth quarter in Sunday's loss to Detroit, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Afflalo, who scored four points in 26 minutes before the injury, is listed as questionable for Monday's contest at Brooklyn.
Analysis: Magic coach Jacque Vaughn described the issue as "slight" so it's possible Afflalo can avoid missing any playing time. The 27-year-old hasn't been as consistent as he was last month and held to less than 45 percent shooting in each of his past five games, including a zero-point showing last Tuesday. Consider him a viable option in deeper formats as he carries some health risk in Fantasy Week 14 (Jan. 28-Feb. 3).
News: After being held scoreless his last time out, Magic guard Arron Afflalo bounced back with a decent performance during Thursday's contest against the Raptors. He finished with 16 points, four rebounds and two assists while logging 42 minutes of game action in a 97-95 defeat.
Analysis: Afflalo was able to get back on track after one of his worst shooting performances of the season his last time out. Though some may black coach Jacque Vaughn's lineup change for his struggles, Afflalo has still averaged roughly over 14 points per game at forward this season. The 27-year-old is enjoying one of his best campaigns as a scorer this year and should be viewed as a viable option in the majority of Fantasy formats moving forward.
News: Magic guard Arron Afflalo did not have one of his better offensive games during Orlando's contest against the Pistons Tuesday night. Afflalo, who made his fourth start of the year at small forward, failed to score for the first time this season in the 105-90 defeat. He missed on all four of his field-goal attempts and didn't even attempt his first shot until the third quarter. However, Afflalo did added nine rebounds, five assists and one steal to his stat line, while logging 38 minutes of game action.
Analysis: The last time Afflalo was shutout came back in February of last year as he missed all five of his field-goal attempts against the Trail Blazers. However, it happened again to him Tuesday night as Afflalo was unusually passive during his start at small forward. He didn't seem to be looking for his shot at all in the first half and then seemed out of rhythm when he tried to flip the switch in the second half. While some will blame coach Jacque Vaughn's lineup change for his struggles, Afflalo has averaged 14.2 points in his other starts at forward this year. Just chalk it up as one of those nights for the 27-year-old, who is still averaging a career-best 17.4 points per game this season. Despite his latest performance, Afflalo should remain active in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: Orlando guard Arron Afflalo struggled from the field on Sunday against Dallas but continued to do a decent job from beyond the arc. He scored 16 points on 5-of-13 shooting in the 111-105 loss. While his shooting percentages have been down slightly, Afflalo remains a viable option in the majority of Fantasy formats heading into Week 13 (Jan. 21-27).

Analysis: Afflalo is averaging 20.2 points with 3.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds in the last five games and is shooting 44 percent over that span. He is having a career campaign scoring-wise even though his shooting percent has taken a hit from downtown. The 27-year-old continues to progress as a Fantasy option and should be considered a low-end guard in most formats at this point.
News: Orlando guard Arron Afflalo led the way for the Magic as he turned in his third 20-point performance in the last four games during Friday night's contest against the Wizards. Afflalo scored a team-high 26 points and grabbed four rebounds in a 105-97 defeat. He went 9 of 21 shooting from the field, including 1 of 6 from downtown, and drained all seven of his free throw attempts. He also added two assists and two steals in 38 minutes of work.

He continues to be the primary scoring option and is able to fill up the stat sheet on any given night, so consider him as a viable Fantasy starter in most formats heading into Week 10 (Dec. 31-Jan. 6).
News: Magic guard Arron Afflalo showed his range from the perimeter as he enjoyed one of his finest performances of the season during Friday's contest against the Raptors. He has averaged 17.6 points 4.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists over his last five games for the Magic. He continues to be the primary scoring option and is able to fill up the stat sheet on any given night, so consider him as a viable Fantasy starter in most formats heading into Week 9 (Dec. 24-30).
News: Magic guard Arron Afflalo was forced to leave Saturdays game against the Bobcats briefly in the fourth quarter, after falling awkwardly on his right leg. He was able to return after a brief absence, however, finishing with 20 points scored in 37 minutes in a 107-98 win. Afflalo shot 8 of 14 from the field in the game, while adding six rebounds and three assists, and he did not seem bothered by the leg injury upon his return.

He is now averaging 16.1 points per game, while contributing 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest, also career-best marks. Assuming he does not suffering any lingering issues from that fall, Fantasy owners should continue to view Afflalo as a viable Fantasy starter in most formats moving forward.
News: Magic guard Arron Afflalo kept his scoring up at a high level Friday against the Kings, as he poured in double-digit points for the fourth game in a row. Afflalo struggled with his shot a bit, going 6 for 15 from the field, however he ended up with 18 points in 38 minutes while going 5 for 6 from the free-throw line. He added three assists, three rebounds and one turnover, in a 91-82 loss.
Analysis: Afflalo is doing very well as the Magics first option on the perimeter offensively, averaging a career-high 16.1 points per game. It has come with a small drop in efficiency, as he is shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from three-point range. The Magic dont have a ton of options around him, so Afflalo is being asked to do more to create for himself than in the past, which can explain his shooting struggles. He is mostly living up to our expectations for his first season in Orlando, so Fantasy owners should continue to consider him a solid option in all formats.
News: Magic shooting guard Arron Afflalo endured another tough shooting performance during Friday's contest against the Nets. Afflalo was held in check and scored just season-low five points and dished out two assists in a 98-86 defeat. He went 2 of 10 shooting from the field, including 0 for 3 from the 3-point line. He also added a rebound in 34 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Afflalo suffered his worst shooting night since the opening day of the season and has been held under single-digit scoring twice over his last six games. He is averaging 12.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game over that stretch while shooting 40 percent from the field (32 of 80). Fantasy owners should keep him active in most formats despite a rough game.

Afflalo scored six points and went just 3 of 10 from the field over 26 minutes in a game that saw all but one active member of the Magic play at least 11 minutes. Afflalo added four rebounds and two assists in the game.
Analysis: Afflalo has gone just 7 for 20 from the field over his last two games. He only saw 26 minutes Monday because Orlando also had a game on Sunday. He's been scoring over 16 points per game with a plethora of other statistics so he can normally be active in most Fantasy formats.
News: Magic guard Arron Afflalo turned in a well-balanced performance against the Nets Sunday afternoon. Afflalo scored 19 points, snatched seven rebounds and dished out five assists in a 82-74 defeat. He shot 7 of 16 from the floor, missed both of his three-point attempts and knocked all five of his free throws. He also chipped in with a block and a steal in a season-high 41 minutes.
Analysis: Afflalo started the season red-hot from downtown, knocking down 7 of 13 three-pointers through his first three games, but has since cooled off and has missed his last five shots from beyond the arc in his last two games. He has picked up his scoring numbers in each of his first five seasons in the NBA and should be able to continue that trend this season with a rebuilding Orlando team. Afflalo should be viewed as a viable option in the majority of Fantasy formats heading into Week 3 (Nov. 12-18).
News: After scoring 22 points his last time out, Magic guard Arron Afflalo had an even better performance Tuesday night against the Bulls. He scored 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting and dished out five assists in the 99-93 loss. He went 3 for 7 from beyond the arc and made all five of his free throws while playing 34 minutes. Afflalo also chipped in with five rebounds, a steal and a block in the defeat.
Analysis: Afflalo has a real opportunity to take his game to the next level this season as the Magic need someone to score for them on a consistent basis. He has picked up his scoring numbers in each of his first five seasons in the NBA and should be able to continue that trend in 2012-13. With the ability to fill up the stat sheet and the promise of double-digit points on a nightly basis, continue to view Afflalo as a viable option in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: The Orlando Sentinel reports Friday that Magic guard Arron Afflalo is healed from a hamstring issue. Afflalo was ready to take on his former team, the Nuggets, Friday in his season debut. He shot 3 of 13 from the field to score seven points with six rebounds and two assists over 32 minutes. Afflalo added a steal and a block.
Analysis: Afflalo didn't exactly show up his former team as he wasn't the star for Orlando in the win. Still, he was on the court for the win over Denver and that must have been sweet. Afflalo can be active in just about any Fantasy format right now as he should improve with the season for the Magic. He is a mid-range guard in category-based leagues.
News: Magic guard Arron Afflalo made his preseason debut during Orlando's preseason game against the Grizzlies Wednesday night. Afflalo, who had been hampered by a left hamstring injury, finished with 10 points on 4 of 7 shooting from the field. He also chipped in with two assists and one rebound, while logging 19 minutes. However, Afflalo admitted after the game he is out of shape. "The idea is for me to get to that level of conditioning to where I can do that, where I can guard some of the better players that get a lot of attention and still have the energy level to assume some responsibility on the offensive end of the court," Afflalo said afterward.
Analysis: Afflalo has held out for most of the preseason due to a strained left hamstring but insists his injury is totally behind him at this point. However, he will now have to try and get himself back in shape as quickly as possible with Orlando's season opener right around the corner. The 27-year-old is coming off his best statistical season last year as he finished averaging 15.2 points per game, while maintaining a solid 47.1 percent shooting percentage from the field. Now he will be counted on the one of the main scoring threats on the Magic, who will be desperately seeking points now that Dwight Howard and Ryan Anderson are gone. Fantasy owners should consider Afflalo worthy of a mid-round selection in most formats as a mid-range guard in both category-based and standard formats.
News: The biggest blockbuster of the offseason finally went down Friday, as the Magic completed the long-rumored Dwight Howard-to-Los Angeles trade. The deal featured 12 players and four teams overall, with plenty of moving parts: the Lakers sent center Andrew Bynum to Philadelphia and forwards Christian Eyenga and Josh McRoberts to Orlando; The 76ers sent Andre Iguodala to Denver, while first-round pick Maurice Harkless headed to Orlando with center Nikola Vucevic; the Nuggets shipped both Al Harrington and Arron Afflalo to Orlando; while the Magic sent Jason Richardson to Philadelphia and received an assortment of draft picks.
Analysis: This is a terrible outcome for Afflalo's chances at enjoying a winning career in the NBA, but it is probably the best outcome for his Fantasy value. Afflalo enjoyed by far his finest season as a professional last year, as he averaged 15.2 points per game, while maintaining a solid 47.1 percent shooting percentage from the field. Now, he looks like one of the main scoring options on a severely depleted Orlando roster, which means another career season seems likely. He might not win many games next season, but Afflalo has a chance to become a serious Fantasy option, with the ceiling of a high-end No. 3 Fantasy guard, with even more potential in Rotisserie leagues. Plan on targeting him beginning in Round 6 on Draft Day.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo returned to the lineup for Monday night's contest against the Bulls after serving a one-game suspension for throwing an elbow in a loss to the Jazz last week. Afflalo finished with 22 points in the 108-91 win, on 8 pf 12 shooting from the field. He went 2 of 4 from downtown and also added four assists and three rebounds to his stat line, while logging 37 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Afflalo made his return to the lineup and picked up right where he left off prior to his suspension. The 26-year-old has been surging in March and is averaging 17.3 points per game this month, his highest output of the season. With the playoffs now here in most leagues, owners should continue to roll with Afflalo in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: Denver guard Aaron Afflalo was suspended one game without pay by the NBA on Sunday for throwing an elbow to the head of Utah forward Gordon Hayward. The incident occurred in the third quarter of Utahs win over Denver on Friday. Afflalo will serve his suspension on Sunday when the Nuggets visit Minnesota.
Analysis: Afflalo has been surging in March and is averaging 17.3 points per game this month, his highest output of the season. He has netted at least 23 points in two of his past three outings so his scoring will be missed for Sunday's game. Fortunately, it's just a one-game suspension and he should be ready for Fantasy Week 14 (March 26-April 1) when the Nuggets play four times. Consider him a quality option in most Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo was ejected from Friday night's contest against the Jazz for throwing an elbow that struck Gordan Hayward in the face in the third quarter. Afflalo finished with 14 points on 3 of 9 shooting from the field prior to being tossed from the game.
Analysis: Afflalo could be looking at some disciplinary action from the league for his elbow, so Fantasy owners will have to keep an eye on how things play out moving forward. Afflalo is averaging 17.2 points, 2.6 assists and 2.0 rebounds over his last five contests, making him a viable low-end option, when he is in the lineup.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo had a nice game in a loss to Dallas on Monday night. Afflalo played 35 minutes and scored a team-high 24 points on 7 of 10 from the field. Afflalo, who went 2 of 3 from 3-point range, may asked to score a whole lot more in the near future as both Andre Miller and Danilo Gallinari were injured during the game. Afflalo grabbed three rebounds and added two assists in the performance.
Analysis: Afflalo is not usually a big-time scorer as he averages just 13.4 points per game on the year. Who knows, though, injuries may force him to become more of an option. Afflalo does the little things on a consistent basis, and that has him owned in most deeper Fantasy formats. He could see a nice little bump in usage in the near future as long as Miller and Gallinari are out.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo did not have one of his better games during Tuesday night's contest against the Hawks. Afflalo finished with just seven points in the 118-117 win, on 3 of 10 shooting from the field. He went 1 for 4 from downtown and also added four rebounds and tree assists to his stat line, while logging 35 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Afflalo has scored in double figures in 11 straight contests prior to his stinker on Tuesday night, but we wouldn't worry about it too much. The 26-year-old is averaging 18.5 points over his last 10 games and is shooting just under 48 percent from the field over that stretch. Despite his off night, leave Afflalo active in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: With the Nuggets dealing with a plethora of injuries, guard Arron Afflalo had a big performance in the overtime win over the Kings. Afflalo played 45 minutes in the game and shot 9 of 20 from the field with four 3-pointers to score a career-high 32 points. Afflalo grabbed two rebounds and added two steals.
Analysis: Afflalo didn't do much but score and he only hit nine shots, but did plenty of damage in the overtime win. He's averaging 18.8 points per game over his last five contests and that comes with 2.2 3-pointers, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists. With Denver continuing to deal with injuries, Afflalo is a worthy Fantasy option in most formats.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo registered his fifth-straight double-digit scoring performance during Friday night's contest against the Rockets. Afflalo finished with 17 points in the 117-105 victory, on 7 of 14 shooting from the field. He went 2 of 3 from downtown and also added three assists and three rebounds to his stat line, while logging 31 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Afflalo is now averaging 17.6 points over his last five contests as he continues to get his scoring up. He is shooting 43 percent from the field over that stretch, while also pulling down 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists. Now that he is healthy and producing, owner should consider the 26-year-old a No. 2 Fantasy guard heading into Week 11 (March 5-11).
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo scored a game-high 27 points and had seven rebounds during the Nuggets' 124-118 overtime loss to Oklahoma City on Sunday night. Afflalo hit on 10 of 21 shot attempts, including 2 of 6 from long range, to also finish with his highest scoring output of the season. His field goals made and attempted both represented season highs as he logged 43 minutes of playing time for Denver. He also had five assists.
Analysis: After some early-season struggles, it appears Afflalo is finally rounding into full strength. The 26-year-old missed time earlier this season with injuries to his ankle and toe, but has stayed in the lineup recently and recorded 20-plus points in four of his past six games. He continues to receive sufficient minutes and has boosted his season average to 11.4 points per game. He could be worth picking back up in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo has been quite productive in his three games since returning from a left ankle sprain and right big toe sprain. Afflalo started slow, scoring 12 points in his return game last Wednesday against Dallas. He's been over 20 in his last two, however. Afflalo scored 26 on Thursday against Golden State as he hit five 3-pointers. On Saturday, Afflalo scored 23 points on 8 of 11 shooting with five rebounds.
Analysis: Afflalo has been highly productive in the three games he's been back for the Nuggets. Denver has immediately given him 35-plus minutes and has him as a central figure in the rotation at starting shooting guard. He and Ty Lawson make up a solid back court and Fantasy owners should consider getting Afflalo active in many more Fantasy leagues than he is currently.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo missed the previous two games due to a left ankle sprain and right big toe sprain but he was able to return on Wednesday against the Mavericks. He scored 12 points on 4 of 12 shooting in the 105-95 loss. He went 2 for 8 from downtown and made both of his free throw attempts while playing 34 minutes. Afflalo also posted two steals and an assist in the defeat.
Analysis: Afflalo is scoring in double digits again for the Nuggets this season but his other stats have fallen off a bit. He is averaging 8.5 points with two rebounds and a steal in his last three contests, and is shooting just 35 percent over that span. His shooting percentage should go up as the season goes on so keep an eye on his progress going forward. But even when he is at his best, Afflalo should be considered as more of an option for deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo (ankle, toe) said he expects to play Wednesday against Dallas, according to the Denver Post. Afflalo sat out Monday's meeting against Houston because of a left ankle sprain and right big toe sprain. It was the third game he's missed this season.
Analysis: Afflalo was hampered by a groin injury last week and missed two games. The 26-year-old seemed to be overcoming the setback and has connected on at least 40 percent of his shot attempts in each of his past three games while increasing his scoring during each outing. It doesn't seem like the latest setbacks will keep Afflalo out for an extended period of time, but Fantasy owners should only utilize him in deeper formats for now.
News: Denver G Arron Afflalo has been ruled out for Monday's game against Houston because of multiple injuries, according to the team. Afflalo is dealing with a left ankle sprain and a right big toe sprain and will miss his third game overall of the season as a result of injuries.
Analysis: Afflalo was hampered by a groin injury last week and missed two games. The 26-year-old seemed to be overcoming the setback and has connected on at least 40 percent of his shot attempts in each of his past three games while increasing his scoring during each outing. It's unclear when Afflalo suffered the latest setbacks, but Fantasy owners in deeper formats should consider healthier options for Week 7 (Feb. 6-12).
News: Denver G Arron Afflalo scored 15 points in 36 minutes of playing time during the Nuggets' 112-91 victory over the Clippers on Thursday night. Afflalo drained 3 of 6 attempts from the field and was a perfect 8 for 8 at the free-throw line to finish with his highest point total since Jan. 15 against Utah (16). He also contributed three rebounds and two assists, but he also committed three turnovers.
Analysis: Afflalo was hampered by a groin injury last week and missed two games as a result of the issue. The 26-year-old seems to be overcoming the setback and has connected on at least 40 percent of his shot attempts in each of his past three games while increasing his scoring during each outing. Afflalo should continue to be a productive member of the starting lineup when fully healthy and represents a mid-range Fantasy option for now.
News: Nuggets G Aaron Afflalo returned from a two-game absence with a groin injury on Friday against Toronto, but he looked very rusty and struggled to get much of anything done in a zero point performance. In 21 minutes in his return to the starting lineup, Afflalo missed all three of his shot attempts and added just two assists and a rebound in the game, but the Nuggets did not need his help to defeat the Raptors, handling them 96-81.
Analysis: Afflalo is averaging 12.1 points per game and provides only minimal production otherwise. He is more important to the Nuggets efforts in real life than he is to Fantasy players, as they spread the scoring around evenly. Because of that, he is only really useful for low-end scoring and some three pointers. He should be considered a low-end Fantasy option now that hes healthy.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo is slated to play in Friday's game against Toronto after dealing with a troublesome groin injury, according to the Denver Post. Afflalo has missed the past two games with a sore groin. "Im good," Afflalo said. "Im going to try to go [Friday]. Ill be fine. I worked out pretty hard yesterday."
Analysis: Afflalo will be inserted back into the starting lineup as he shakes the injury he suffered last Friday. Nuggets coach George Karl said he was unsure how much playing time Afflalo receive as he wants to prevent a setback. Consider him a mid-range Fantasy option when healthy.
News:The Denver Post reports Nuggets coach George Karl is optimistic that guard Arron Afflalo will be available for one of Denver's upcoming home games this weekend, either Friday against Toronto or Sunday against the Clippers. However, Afflalo is getting re-evaluated Thursday and is being listed as doubtful for Friday's game. Afflalo has missed two straight games with a sore groin.
Analysis: Afflalo is the Nuggets' starting shooting guard and is averaging at least 12 points per game for a second straight season. He mostly contributes scoring for Fantasy owners and can be a threat from 3-point range. But he is mostly a low-end Fantasy option in deep formats when active.
News: Denver G Arron Afflalo was ruled out for Wednesday's game at Sacramento because of a right groin strain, according to the team's official website. Afflalo, who missed his first game of the season last Saturday, did not participate in Tuesday's practice for the Nuggets.
Analysis: Afflalo suffered the injury last Friday at Washington and will need more time to rest. He has scored in double-digits in each of his past four outings before the injury and is averaging 12.1 points per game this year. Fantasy owners only in deeper formats should keep him reserved.
News: Denver G Arron Afflalo is considered a game-time decision for Wednesday's game at Sacramento because of a lingering groin injury, according to the team's official website. Afflalo missed his first game of the season Saturday against New York and was replaced by Andre Miller in the lineup.
Analysis: Afflalo apparently suffered the injury during the Nuggets' game at Washington last Friday. He has scored in double-digits in each of his past four outings before the injury and is averaging 12.1 points per game this year. Fantasy owners should view Afflalo as an injury risk for Week 5 (Jan. 23-29).
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo missed Saturday's game against New York with a groin injury, according to the Denver Post. It's the first game Afflalo has been sidelined for this season as he will be replaced in the starting lineup by G Andre Miller for the Nuggets.
Analysis: Denver coach George Karl said Afflalo was hurt late in the Nuggets victory at Washington on Friday. The 26-year-old has scored in double-figures in each of his past four outings and is averaging 12.1 ppg this season. Afflalo was expected to be a strong scoring threat this season, but he is connecting on just 43.2 percent of his shots attempts. Consider him a low-end Fantasy option for now.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo hasn't been lighting it up recently for the Nuggets, but he has been scoring consistently over his last four games. He shot 5 for 11 from the field, going 1 for 2 from downtown, and converting 2 of his 5 foul shots on Friday night en route to 13 points. He's now scored in double figures in four straight contests. Afflalo added two boards, one steal and three assists in his 34 minutes against the Wizards on Friday.
Analysis: Afflalo signed a five year, $43 million contract in the off season, but he's not performing up to the standards Denver had imagined. Once Carmelo Anthony was shipped to New York, many thought Afflalo would be one of the main scoring threats. That hasn't happened yet, but the season is still young. Over his last five games Afflalo is averaging 12.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists an outing. Until he starts producing better stat lines, Afflalo is just a low-end guard option in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo has scored in double digits in six of his last seven games, including a 16 point, eight rebound performance on Sunday night as the Nuggets lost 106-96 to the Jazz. Afflalo could have done even more if not for a poor shooting night overall, as he shot just four-of-10 from the field and six-of-10 from the free-throw line on the night, however he did go two-of-four from beyond the three-point line.
Analysis: Afflalo isnt hitting his shots consistently as of late, shooting just 41.7 percent over his last five games. However he is getting to the free-throw line and has made 11 three-pointers over that time to balance it out. He signed a five year, $43 million contract in the off season, so he is clearly valued by the Nuggets as an important part of their team, but his contributions dont really show up on the box score. Because of this, hes no more than a low-end Fantasy option in most formats for his three-point shooting.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo is beginning to show signs of breaking out of an early-season shooting slump, reports the Denver Post on Monday. Afflalo has scored in double figures in three consecutive games, including scoring 12 points on 5 of 8 from the field on Saturday against the Spurs. Im not worried about it, Afflalo said. Shots will fall, Ive been shooting for a while now, a lot of years. I think Ill be ok in due time. As long as we continue to rack up the victories my game will progress properly.
Analysis: Afflalo has gone 16 for 27 over his last three games and has three 3-pointers over that span to go with a couple rebounds, assists and steals. Afflalo still doesn't do anything high-end in terms of Fantasy production, however, and is only a low-end Fantasy option, even if he is hitting shots more consistently of late.
News: Denver SG Arron Afflalo only got 20 minutes of action on Wednesday night in a win over Utah. After playing 28 minutes in the opener, the Nuggets kept him on the floor for only 20 in a game they won 117-100. Afflalo went 4 of 10 in the game for 10 points with five rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: Afflalo scored 11 points in the opener on 4 of 8 shooting and hit a 3-pointer in a more consistent ballgame. He's starting, but Denver has liked what Rudy Fernandez has given them at the position and Fernandez got 30 minutes on Wednesday night. Fantasy owners should only be starting Afflalo in deeper formats at the moment.
News: Shooting guard Arron Afflalo has reportedly agreed to a five-year deal in excess of $43 million with the Denver Nuggets, reports ESPN.com on Monday. Afflalo was a restricted free agent and was one of the more coveted free agents in the league before signing with Denver.
Analysis: Afflalo enjoyed a breakout season in 2010-11, notching career highs in points per game with 12.6, as well as assists and rebounds. For the third year in a row, he shot better than 40 percent on three-pointers. Staying with Denver, Afflalo will likely see a further increased role as the J.R. Smith is stuck in China playing without an opt-out clause in his contract. Afflalo should be a low-end Fantasy option, with a shot to further break out with an increased role in Denvers fast-paced offense. He will be worthy of a late-round pick on Draft Day.
News: Restricted free agent G Arron Afflalo is one of the most coveted free agents in the league, perhaps the top perimeter target, according to ESPNs Marc Stein. Stein reported that he heard that from a number of GMs in the league, and that several big-market teams lust after Afflalo. However, as a restricted free agent, the Nuggets will be able to match any offer Afflalo receives, and appear likely to do so.
Analysis: Afflalo enjoyed a breakout season in 2010-11, notching career highs in points per game with 12.6, as well as assists and rebounds. For the third year in a row, he shot better than 40 percent on three-pointers. If he stays in Denver, he will likely see a further increased role as the J.R. Smith is stuck in China playing without an opt-out clause in his contract. Afflalo is expected to remain a Nugget and should be a low-end Fantasy option, with a shot to further break out with an increased role in Denvers fast-paced offense. He will be worthy of a late-round pick on Draft Day.
News: The Nuggets have offered contracts to restricted free agents Arron Afflalo, Wilson Chandler and Gary Forbes. The team also said Monday that it has exercised the fourth-year option on guard Ty Lawson. The Nuggets didn't release the terms. Afflalo is in his second season with the Nuggets. He had several career highs last season, including points (12.6), rebounds and (3.6), assists (2.4).
Analysis: Afflalo enjoyed somewhat of a breakout season this year in Denver as he finished with career-highs in minutes (33.7), field goal percentage (49.8), rebounds (3.6), assists (2.4) and points (12.6). Afflalo projects as a solid low-end Fantasy option whose value lies in deeper formats heading into next season. As long as he remains in Denver he would be worth a late-round pick.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo is working hard this offseason. His schedule is five- to six-hour workouts five days a week. Afflalo averaged 12.6 points last season and enters this summer as a restricted free agent. His agent, Sam Goldfeder and Nuggets executive Masai Ujiri have said they see Afflalo re-signing with Denver. "I have confidence that we can get a deal done," Goldfeder said. "There is a very strong mutual admiration between Arron and Nuggets management." The report says Afflalo is looking at a deal around $8 million to $10 million a year.
Analysis: The 25-year-old enjoyed somewhat of a breakout season this year in Denver as he finished with career-highs in minutes (33.7), field goal percentage (49.8), rebounds (3.6), assists (2.4) and points (12.6). Afflalo projects as a solid low-end Fantasy option whose value lies in deeper formats heading into next season. As long as he remains in Denver he would be worth a late-round pick.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo plans to return to Denver in 2011. "In my eyes, I'm here," said Afflalo, who is a restricted free agent and hopes to sign a long-term contract with the Nuggets this summer. "That's the plan. At this point, that's how I'm moving forward." Nuggets executive Masai Ujiri would like to keep Afflalo going forward. Asked specifically about Afflalo, Ujiri said there's "no question" he will be a Nugget for years to come.
News: Denver got guard Arron Afflalo back on Saturday night as the Nuggets tried to get a win in the series. Afflalo played for the first time since April 11, when he aggravated a strained left hamstring that's cost him 13 games over the final month of the regular season. The Nuggets missed his defense, particularly on the pick-and-roll, and his three-point prowess. He shot 4 for 12 from the field -- going 2 for 6 from downtown -- and converting 3 of his 4 foul shots, finishing with 13 points. He added two boards and one assist in his 32 minutes of court time. Denver would end up losing the game, 97-94.
Analysis: Afflalo will probably be limited in practice before Game 4 and there is always a chance he doesn't play if the Nuggets throw in the towel. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his hamstring issue and make sure it doesn't linger during the offseason. When healthy, he is a low-end guard option. Owners should target him in the later rounds on Draft Day.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo pronounced his left hamstring fit after practice Friday and said he will take the court in Game 3 of the team's first-round playoff series against Oklahoma City. He missed the first two games of the series with this injury, a place he's very familiar with. He's been in this position three times since mid-March, only to test out the injury in a game and aggravate it. Afflalo, the Nuggets' top defender and go-to scorer in crunch time, has no idea how many minutes he can handle or if the hamstring will even hold up. Still, Afflalo's presence might just provide the boost the team's looking for with Denver down 2-0 in the best-of-7 series. "We're healthy now," Afflalo said. "No more excuses."
Analysis: Afflalo's hamstring cost him 13 games over the final month of the regular season, interrupting the team's chemistry. "He's one of our most tough-minded, fundamentally sound, hard-nosed, winning guys on our team," coach George Karl said. "I mean, before he got hurt, he was playing the most minutes on the team. He played more minutes than Melo, he played more minutes than Chauncey. He's a competitive, winning kid. Skill-wise, he doesn't have greatness but he's damn good in a lot of areas." Fantasy owners should keep an eye on Afflalo to see how much he's limited. When healthy, he is a low-end guard option. Owners should target him in the later rounds on Draft Day.
News: The Nuggets official team website reports Friday that guard Arron Afflalo practiced with the starters, he could end up starting in Game 3 against the Thunder in the first-round playoff series. Afflalo missed the first two games of the series as well as 12 of the last 15 regular-season games with a nagging hamstring injury.
Analysis: Fantasy owners would like to see Afflalo play in the playoffs to see how he does and evaluate his talent for next season. When healthy, Afflalo is a low-end Fantasy option heading into 2011-12. Our advice, if Afflalo's hamstring does not become a lingering issue, is to draft Afflalo with a late-round pick in most formats.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo said Thursday he plans to play in Game 3 against Oklahoma City on Saturday. Afflalo missed the first two games of the series as well as 12 of the last 15 regular-season games with a nagging hamstring injury. He could only watch as his teammates struggled defensively against Thunder stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in Game 1 and struggled to make baskets in Game 2. "I feel healthy. The whole point of the rest was to lower the risk of re-injury," Afflalo said. "I'm not in a nothing-to- lose mode, but I'm playing to win. I compete to win." Coach George Karl said he's leaning toward bringing the shooting guard off the bench. Karl also said it's "probably a thought" that he will start Raymond Felton alongside Ty Lawson, instead of Wilson Chandler, who was 0-for-6 on Wednesday. "He's one of our most tough-minded, mentally sound, hard-nosed winning guys," Karl said of Afflalo. "Before he got hurt, he was playing the most minutes on our team."
Analysis: It is unclear how much Afflalo will play in Game 3, but perhaps his presence on the court will be enough to elevate his team's play. Fantasy owners should monitor his playing time and production during the postseason and keep an eye on this injury. He's a restricted free agent under the current collective bargaining agreement, but the Nuggets would love to have him back. If he's healthy and on Denver, Afflalo would be worth a late-round selection on Draft Day.
News: The Nuggets official team website reports that guard Arron Afflalo worked out Thursday and said he's ready to play in Game 3 of the first-round playoff series against Oklahoma City. Afflalo missed the first two games with a hamstring injury.
News: According to The Denver Post, guard Arron Afflalo said he would play in Game 3 as the first-round series with Oklahoma City shifts back to Denver. Afflalo missed the first two games with a hamstring injury. He wanted to give himself plenty of time to heal, but with his Nuggets down 2-0 in the series, he's coming back.
Analysis: This is very good news for Denver as J.R. Smith and Wilson Chandler didn't get the job done on Wednesday as the Thunder beat the Nuggets 106-89. It is unclear how much Afflalo will play in Game 3, but perhaps his presence on the court will be enough to elevate his team's play. Fantasy owners should monitor his playing time and production during the postseason and keep an eye on this injury. He's a restricted free agent under the current collective bargaining agreement, but the Nuggets would love to have him back. If he's healthy and on Denver, Afflalo would be well worth a mid- to late-round selection on Draft Day.
News: The Nuggets report Wednesday that guard Arron Afflalo said he will base his return from a hamstring injury on how the first-round playoff series with Oklahoma City is going. He wants to give his hamstring as much time as possible to heal. Afflalo already missed Game 1 and will not play in Wednesday's Game 2.
Analysis: Fantasy owners would like to see Afflalo play in the playoffs to see how he does and evaluate his talent for next season. When healthy, Afflalo is a low-end Fantasy option since heading into 2011-12. Our advice, if Afflalo's hamstring does not become a lingering issue, is to draft Afflalo with a late-round pick in most formats.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo, who missed Game 1 against the Thunder with his ongoing hamstring issue, has been ruled out for Wednesday's Game 2 of the series. When asked what his chances of playing Wednesday are, Afflalo replied: "zero. It hasnt even been 10 days yet (of rest). Ive made a mistake three times (by coming back). Its not even being cautious its just not healed," he said. "Ive tried to come back in the regular season. Im trying to get past that marker."
Analysis: Afflalo was missed by the Nuggets in Game 1, as they had a late-game situation in which one player had to step up. He took those big shots towards the end of the regular season, but they will have to deal with him out once more in Oklahoma City. Afflalo said the injury would be a daily evaluation, though the series situation may call for a quicker return. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor the situation moving forward, especially with Afflalo coming off of a career-year offensively. He projects as a viable option in most formats heading into the 2011-12 season.
News: The Nuggets were without guard Arron Afflalo for Game 1 of their playoff series against the Thunder on Sunday night. Afflalo has missed 13 games since early March because of a strained left hamstring. He has tried to come back and play three separate times, most recently aggravating the injury against Golden State last week. "I've been through the situation before where I can get to a week to 10-day period where my body feels good, as if I can play, and then I get on the court and it's not the case," Afflalo said.
Analysis: Game 2 of the series will be played on Wednesday, although Afflalo wasn't sure he would be ready for that one either. He said he we wants to give his injury more time to heal and will be evaluated on a daily basis. "Just take it day to day, take it game to game," Afflalo said. "Depending on the situation can somewhat dictate how fast I get back." The 25-year-old enjoyed somewhat of a breakout season this year in Denver as he finished with career-highs in minutes (33.7), field goal percentage (49.8), rebounds (3.6), assists (2.4) and points (12.6). Afflalo projects as a solid low-end Fantasy option whose value lies in deeper formats heading into next season.
News: The Nuggets report Friday that guard Arron Afflalo is considered day to day heading into Game 1 of the first-round playoff series at Oklahoma City. Afflalo has been dealing with a hamstring injury that has limited him for the final month of the regular season.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Afflalo's status during the playoffs and hope his hamstring injury is OK. Heading into 2011-12, Afflalo projects as reserve Fantasy option in the majority of leagues. Even though he played well this season, he is never going to become a starting option in the majority of leagues.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo was held out of Wednesday's season finale against the Bucks as a precaution to his hamstring injury re-aggravated in Monday's game against the Warriors. His status is yet to be determined for Game 1 of the playoffs against the Thunder. "The leg injuries with Arron and Nene, those things could develop," coach George Karl told the Denver Post. "If we played a playoff game today, Gallo would go but I don't think Arron and Nene."
Analysis: With coach Karl not knowing if Afflalo would play if the playoffs began Wednesday, we are calling the breakout shooting guard questionable for Game 1 of the postseason. He has missed considerable time with the issue, and had another setback Monday when he attempted a return. Keep an eye on the issue to see if he can get in the lineup for the new-look Nuggets. If so, Afflalo remains a low to mid-range option for his improved play since the 'Melo trade.
News: The Nuggets official team website reports that guard Arron Afflalo (hamstring) won't play at Utah on Wednesday. Afflalo re-injured his hamstring Monday against Golden State.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues should keep Afflalo reserved, and the Nuggets hope he will be fine for the start of the playoffs. Since Denver clinched the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference there is no need to play Afflalo in a meaningless game. When healthy, Afflalo is a low-end Fantasy option in all formats.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo, who left Monday's game against Golden State with a hamstring injury, could sit out Wednesday's game at Utah to be ready for the playoffs. "Honestly, I'm not even trying to feel great. I just want to feel normal," Afflalo said. "It's not painful, but it's annoying. It's not one of those things you can play through. The more you play on it, the more it will set you back." Asked if sitting out Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Jazz was best for him, Afflalo said, "In all likelihood, considering we have clinched (the West's) fifth (playoff seed), it would be in my best interest. At the same time, we'll see how I feel."
Analysis: Even if Afflalo plays Wednesday he would have minimal Fantasy value. He can't make it through a game when he's considered healthy enough to play, and the Nuggets want Afflalo ready for the playoffs. Ignore him in all daily formats.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo's hamstring just won't hold up. After missing five straight games with the issue and 11 of the team's previous 15 games, Afflalo returned to the lineup Monday against the Warriors. He started off strong, but he again would not finish the game because of the strained hammy. Afflalo left the game 2 1/2 minutes into the second half and didn't return. He appeared to walk gingerly to the bench during a timeout after scoring 10 points in 17 minutes on 4 of 6 shooting. He added two rebounds and two assists before the early exit.
Analysis: Afflalo was to be monitored Monday by coach George Karl, who said he didn't want to play the UCLA product to play in large stints. He was going to see limited minutes, but never got the shot to see how the entire game would play out. He looked good in spurts, including on a steal and transition play that he sped down the floor from coast to coast. Afflalo will remain day to day, and it's likely that the team held him out as a precaution after trainers stretched him out on the sideline. Fantasy owners should monitor his progress in the coming days to see if he will give it a go in Wednesday's regular season finale against the Jazz. Afflalo is a low to mid-range option when healthy, which has been the issue of late.
News: The Denver Post reports Monday that guard Arron Afflalo (hamstring) will play Monday night against Golden State. Afflalo has missed 12 of the past 16 games with his hamstring injury.
Analysis: Afflalo is a low-end Fantasy option in the majority of leagues when healthy to close the season. He is averaging 12.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 68 games this season. Don't plan on using him even with his expected return against the Warriors.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo (hamstring) is expected to play in Monday's contest against the Warriors, reports the team's official website. Afflalo has missed 12 of the past 16 games with his injury, including Saturday's 130-106 win over the Timberwolves. He is averaging 12.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 68 games this season.
Analysis: Afflalo's hamstring injury has kept him sidelined for quite some time now, although the team is expecting him back in the lineup on Monday. Still, the Nuggets will be extremely cautious with him, so he could end up seeing limited minutes in his first return to action in nearly two weeks. Fantasy owners in daily formats may want to hold off from starting the 25-year-old until he proves he is playing at 100 percent.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo was not available for Saturday's game against the Timberwolves as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury. Afflalo has now missed 12 of the past 16 games with his injury and remains listed as day to day. Coach George Karl told the team's official website that Afflalo will be evaluated on a daily basis. We dont have a full deck yet, Karl said. Its light.
Analysis: Afflalo's hamstring continues to prevent him from getting back on the floor and the Nuggets seem in no rush to get him back in action. With Denver likely cemented into the No. 5 seed out West, there is really no reason for Afflalo to try and play until he is back at 100 percent. Fantasy owners in daily formats should continue to monitor the 25-year-old's status moving forward to see when or if he will be able to play again. However, don't be surprised if he is held out for the remainder of the regular season.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo, who has missed 7 of 8 games with a hamstring issue, sat out again Friday against the Thunder with the issue. The team has reportedly considered shutting him down until the playoffs begin.
Analysis: Afflalo has emerged as one of Denver's more reliable options on both ends of the floor after the Carmelo Anthony trade, but the hammy issue was re-aggravated in the first game he tried to play after suffering the injury the first time. We understand the Nuggets lack of a rush to bring him back in the home stretch, so Fantasy owners should not rely on the UCLA product any time soon.
News: The Denver Post reports that the Nuggets could consider shutting down guard Arron Afflalo for the rest of the regular season to make sure his injured hamstring is healthy for the postseason. I dont get involved in those discussions a lot, coach George Karl said. Injuries are very frustrating to coaches. I think everybody knows Arron was playing the most minutes of anyone on the team when he got hurt. Fortunately weve been able to find other ways to win games. Asked if he was worried that Afflalo would not be 100 percent by the playoffs which start on April 16 and 17 Karl said no. But he is worried about Afflalos state of mind. I think hell be 100 percent physically, Karl said. I dont know about mentally. Anytime youve sat out the last 10, 15 games the confidence of going in and making shots and getting involved in the offense. Im a little worried about that. People always ask us: Whos our go-to guy? I thought Arron would be a guy that wed be letting shoot at the end of the game a little bit. But, again, we just have to figure it out.
Analysis: Afflalo is definitely out for Wednesday's game at Dallas, and the Nuggets hope he can return for Friday's game at Oklahoma City. But even if Afflalo is able to play again this year he would have minimal Fantasy value. Don't plan on using him in the majority of leagues.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo's hamstring injury may be worse than originally thought. Afflalo will miss the Nuggets' next two games Tuesday against Oklahoma City and Wednesday at Dallas to rest the injury to his left leg, coach George Karl said Tuesday. Karl left open the possibility that Afflalo could return Friday at Oklahoma City. Afflalo, who is averaging a career-best 12.6 points per game, strained his hamstring Friday against Sacramento and sat out Sunday's win over the Lakers.
Analysis: Afflalo is not worth using in any leagues for the final scoring period based on his hamstring injury. He's been a breakout Fantasy option this year, but the hamstring injury has ruined the end of his season. Hopefully he can return at 100 percent for the playoffs, but owners should ignore him in all leagues for the rest of this year.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo, who missed Sunday's game at the Lakers with an injured hamstring, hopes to be ready for the playoffs, which means playing some in the regular season. Denver coach George Karl said he probably won't play Afflalo in back- to-back situations, so the plan, for now, is to play him Tuesday against the Thunder and rest him Wednesday at Dallas. Karl suggested that the Nuggets would also rest Afflalo on Friday at Oklahoma City and then play him Saturday back in Denver against Minnesota, but if that Friday game has playoff-seeding implications, it's possible Denver could call on Afflalo and rest him the next night.
Analysis: For the season, Afflalo averages a career-high 12.6 points per game. He remains a low-end Fantasy option for the rest of this year with his hamstring problem a potential hindrance to him finishing a game or even making it through the remainder of the schedule.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo was considered a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Lakers, but was held out by coach George Karl as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. He is listed as day-to-day going forward. He told NBA.com that if it were a playoff game he would be able to suit up. Its OK, Afflalo said. Im just trying to get it ready for the postseason.
Analysis: Afflalo re-aggravated an existing hamstring during Friday's game against the Kings. His status for the final scoring period is too risky to consider activating him under most circumstances. He could return in time for Tuesday's game against Oklahoma City, but is not expected to play much more than 20-25 minutes, capping his overall appeal. He managed 11-4-5 on Friday in just 26 minutes of action, but the possibility of another setback with his hamstring is cause enough to stay away.

Analysis: Afflalo missed four games earlier in the week with a hamstring issue and unfortunately seemed to re-aggravate it during Friday's win at Sacramento. Fantasy owners in daily formats should continue to monitor his status leading up to tipoff against the Lakers. If Afflalo can't play on Sunday, he will be considered an injury risk heading into Fantasy Week 24 (April 4-13). . The 25-year-old has put up career numbers across the board this season and has turned into a very solid low-end Fantasy option. Continue to view him as such in all formats, when healthy.

However, Afflalo appeared to aggravate his injury late in the fourth quarter. He took himself out of the game and was holding hamstring as he went to the bench. Afflalo finished with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists prior to leaving the contest.
Analysis: The Nuggets did not update his status after the game, so Fantasy owners will have to continue to check back for more updates over the next few days. Denver did have the game well in hand at the time Afflalo did leave with the injury, so this could be just a precautionary thing. The 25-year-old has put up career numbers across the board and has turned into a very solid low-end Fantasy option. Continue to view him as such in all formats, when healthy.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo was back in the starting lineup on Friday night against Sacramento, according to the team's official website. He had missed four straight games with a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Afflalo just adds to the depth of the Nuggets, which is scary for their opponents. He was one of the players expected to step up after Carmelo Anthony was traded to New York. While he's put together some solid outings this year, Afflalo still has some work to do. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his minutes on Friday to see if he's going to play a big role the rest of the season. When healthy, Afflalo is a viable guard option in deeper Fantasy leagues.

The Nuggets also wants to make sure Afflalo is 100 percent healthy for the playoffs and might limit his minutes.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo has missed four straight games with a strained left hamstring injury. Coach George Karl told NBA.com on Wednesday that he could return on Friday against the Kings. Arron doesnt have to prove anything to us. We just need to get him back to where hes healthy, Karl said. Hes got to play some games. I wouldnt want him to play in a playoff game without five or six games under his belt. I think we have time to get his rhythm back and his confidence in a good place. Afflalo originally injured his hamstring back on March 5 and aggravated it on March 19 in Miami.
Analysis: Afflalo has played well this season for Denver. He's averaging 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game this year for the Nuggets. With Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups in New York, Afflalo has tried to fill the scoring void left. He hasn't done a bad job, but injuries have been hurting his court time. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his progress as the season winds down. When healthy and on the court, Afflalo is worth using in deeper mixed Fantasy leagues.

News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo, sidelined since re-injuring his left hamstring at Miami on Saturday, is expected to return for next Wednesday's game against Sacramento.
Analysis: Keep Afflalo reserved in all leagues and continue to monitor what develops with his hamstring. If he plays Wednesday as expected he would be eligible for all three games for Denver in Fantasy Week 23. But his production could be limited since the Nuggets are using Wilson Chandler at shooting guard and also going with a lineup of two point guard with Ty Lawson and Raymond Felton. Afflalo, at best, is a low-end Fantasy option in deeper leagues.
News:The Denver Post reports that Nuggets coach George Karl said that when injured G Arron Afflalo (hamstring) returns, which likely will not happen until next week, the team will rest him some games until the postseason. "I talked to (Nuggets trainer) Jimmy (Gillen) a little bit about maybe we shouldn't play him in back-to-back situations," Karl said. "He just wants to play so much; he wants to be on the court. I think we won't play him back- to-back probably the rest of the way."
Analysis: Expect Afflalo to be re-evaluated early in Week 23 (March 21-27). He has averaged just 6.7 points over his last three appearances. He should be reserved in all formats until further notice and is a player that could be cut in many standard formats in favor of healthier alternatives off the waiver wire.

He should be reserved in all formats until further notice and is a player that could be cut in many standard formats in favor of healthier alternatives off the waiver wire.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo left Saturday's game in Miami in the first half with a left hamstring strain. He played just nine minutes in the contest and missed both his shots from the field. He added one rebound during his time on the court. Afflalo did not return to the game and is being considered day to day by the team.
Analysis: With Raymond Felton also banged up for Denver, the loss of Afflalo will add to the hurt. The Nuggets are a deep team, but Afflalo has been playing well of late. Over his last 10 games, he's averaging 11.7 points, 3.1 boards and 2.6 assists per outing. He's also shooting 43.7 percent from the field over that span. He missed three games earlier in the month with this same injury, so he may be out an extended period of time. Fantasy owners should keep a close eye on him as the deadline for lineups approaches. It may be worth getting a healthy alternative ready, just in case Afflalo is out for a few games. When he's healthy, Afflalo is a viable guard option in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: After missing three games with a hamstring injury, Denver guard Arron Afflalo returned to the court on Wednesday with a solid outing. News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo missed his third straight game Monday, missing the game against the Hornets. Coach George Karl said pregame that he expects him to be back at some point of the road trip after Monday. The team heads to Atlanta for a tilt with the Hawks on Wednesday.
Analysis: Afflalo has been one of the Nuggets players to benefit the most in the post-Carmelo Anthony era in Denver. Along with Ty Lawson, Afflalo has been looked at as a leader on and off the court with his added responsibility. The hammy has been an ongoing issue, but Karl's words are encouraging for Fantasy owners depending on the emerging two-guard. He remains an injury risk for Week 21 (March 14-20) unless he returns Wednesday. When healthy, Afflalo is a low-end Fantasy option with some upside.
News:The Denver post reports Nuggets G Arron Afflalo will not be available for Monday's game against the Hornets as he continues to deal with his hamstring issue. He has now missed three straight games with the injury.
Analysis: Afflalo has been one of the Nuggets players to benefit the most in the post-Carmelo Anthony era in Denver. Analysis: Afflalo is officially listed as day-to-day, though he remains an injury risk for Fantasy Week 21 (March 14-20). Barring a significant improvement announced prior to Monday night's lineup deadlines, we recommend healthier alternatives in all circumstances. Afflalo has averaged 12.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists over his last eight appearances.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo was not available for Saturday's contest against the Pistons as he continues to deal with hamstring injury. Afflalo has now missed two straight games with his injury but coach George Karl said he could return next week.

Analysis: Afflalo has elevated his game all year long, and it's picked up even more steam since the Carmelo Anthony trade. He has scored in double-figures in five of the six full games he played since the deal became official. Afflalo has shot well from the floor, especially from long-range, which has helped his game open up along with his role in Denver. When he returns, possibly Saturday against the Pistons, Afflalo should be used as a low-end Fantasy option.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets coach George Karl said Tuesday that the team will likely be without guard Arron Afflalo (hamstring) for the next two games. Afflalo was injured in Saturday's game against the Clippers.

Afflalo strained his hamstring in the game. "It's alright, just getting treatment on it," Afflalo said. "As soon as I can I'll be ready to go. I want to play so we'll see how it goes. I plan on playing."
Analysis: The report also notes that the Nuggets are looking to get Afflalo more touches in crunch time. "If there's a guy we want to develop into getting more touches in the fourth quarter, it would be Arron Afflalo," coach George Karl said. "We did that in the Portland game, and of course he made the big shot against Utah." Afflalo is averaging a career-high 12.9 points per game this season and has become a viable low-end play in deeper leagues. However, with an injury risk and just a two-game slate in Fantasy Week 20 (March 7-13), he is a player to be avoided for now.

Afflalo is the only player on Denver's roster to play in every game this season, but that will be in jeopardy moving forward. Before he left, Afflalo managed to score six points on 2 of 8 shooting with six rebounds and an assist.
Analysis: Afflalo has been the most durable Nugget over the entire season, and he's been one of the better offensive players as well since the Carmelo Anthony trade. The severity of the injury is unknown at this point, but hamstrings are touchy issues and rushing back from those injuries often produce worse in the long run. Fantasy owners should monitor the situation moving forward, because Afflalo was establishing himself as Denver's go-to-guy in big spots. We view him as a trusted option in all formats when healthy.
News: Playing with an ankle sprain Thursday, Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo not only "gave it a go" against the Jazz, but he hit the dagger from 3-point range with 11.4 seconds remaining. The shot put the Nuggets up for good after some additional free-throws from teammate Raymond Felton, as they won their fifth game in six tries since the Carmelo Anthony deal. Afflalo showed no signs of limitation from the injury, as he shot 8 of 12 from the floor on his way to 19 points. He was solid from outside, nailing 3 of 5 shots from downtown. Afflalo added a pair of assists and a rebound in 34 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Afflalo has become the team's late-game shooter now that 'Melo is playing in New York. He continues to sizzle from beyond the arc, shooting better than 47 percent from there in five of the six games since the big trade. Afflalo also continues to chip in some rebounds and assists on most of the recent games while scoring in double-figures five times in the span. He has proved durable besides the recent scares, playing in all 63 games this season. Fantasy owners should trust Afflalo's talents moving forward in the majority of formats.
News: The Denver Post reports Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo will attempt to play in Thursday's game against the Jazz, despite his ankle sprain suffered in Wednesday's win over the Bobcats. He is the only Nugget to play in all 62 games, and he was able to return against the Bobcats after first getting hurt.
Analysis: Afflalo has taken on a larger role since the Carmelo Anthony trade offensively. He is averaging more than 14 points per game over his last five games (all without 'Melo). Afflalo remains the solid defensive player he has been all season, the skill that originally got him into the starting lineup. Fantasy owners should have confidence in him as a mid-level option in all formats when healthy enough to play.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo is a game-time decision for Thursday's game at Utah due to his ankle sprain, which occurred Wednesday night against Charlotte. Afflalo is the only Nugget to play in all 62 games, and he was able to return against the Bobcats after first getting hurt.

News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo, the only Nugget to play in all 62 games, rolled his ankle driving to the basket in the first quarter on Wednesday night against the Bobcats, but would return to the game. With a little more than five minutes to go in the third quarter, Afflalo was fouled hard when Gerald Henderson barreled into him on another drive to the basket. Coach George Karl had seen enough, and with the game well in hand, had Afflalo take the rest of the night off. Denver went on to win the game, 120-80, over Charlotte. He would shoot 3 for 4 from the field -- nailing his lone 3-point attempt -- and knocked down all four of his freebies at the charity stripe. Afflalo finished the night with 11 points, two assists and three boards in 23 minutes of action.
Analysis: Afflalo has been playing well since Denver pulled the trigger on the Carmelo Anthony trade. Over his last five games he's averaging 14.4 points, 3.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds per contest. While he's shown he's durable this year, he should be a go for Thursday in Utah. He may wake up with some discomfort, which should be something Fantasy owners don't want. As long as he continues to play, owners should view Afflalo as a low-end guard option with an upside.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo has elevated his game with the team re-shaped after the trade deadline. In Friday's overtime loss to the Blazers, he shot 8 of 17 from the floor on the way to 19 points. He added six rebounds and two assists on the night in 38 minutes as a starter. Afflalo has scored above his season average (12.9 ppg) in four of the last five games.
Analysis: Afflalo has picked up the scoring slack as have the rest of the Nugget in the post-Carmelo Anthony era. They now feature a solid 10-man rotation that might be the most balanced in the league. Afflalo has been the one to step up late in games, taking big shots in 'Melo's absence in the past. It held true again Friday, but he missed the possible game-winning shot with time expiring. Still, the team has confidence in him and he should continue to score with the amount of minutes he plays. Fantasy owners should utilize him as a rising low-end option moving forward.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo he earning rave reviews from head coach George Karl. The Nuggets coach has had the best seat in the house watching Afflalo blossom into one of the most reliable players on his roster this season. "I'm just real happy with Arron," Karl told the Denver Post. "Arron's confidence and his consistency are getting better and better. He's taking more responsibility on both ends of the court. Can't complain much about Arron, what he's given us this year."
Analysis: Afflalo has been nice surprise for Fantasy owners this season. The 27-year-old is averaging a career high 13.0 points per game, which is the most points he averaged since his days at UCLA. Afflalo's increased scoring can be attributed to the career-high 35 minutes per game he is averaging as well as the fact that he is shooting over 50 percent from the field. While he can be a bit inconsistent at times, Afflalo remains a solid producer for deeper formats. Continue to view him as such heading into the second half of the season.
News: After some inconsistent performances in the last two weeks, Nuggets SG Arron Afflalo put in one of his better efforts of the year in Thursday's win over the Mavericks. With the game on the line and time expiring with Carmelo Anthony out of the game (fouled out), Afflalo was called upon to take the last shot after Chauncey Billups spotted him on the elbow. He buried the 19-footer and sprinted down the court to celebrate his first career buzzer-beater. "I've hit some big shots before, but never have I made the game winner at the buzzer," said Afflalo. "Chauncey did a great job of being patient. When he figured he wasn't going to get enough space to get a clean shot off, I was just ready. That was all I had in my mind, get a clean look." Afflalo finished the night with 24 points on 8 of 16 shooting, including 4 of 8 from beyond the arc. He added three rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Afflalo's big night wasn't materialized heading into the fourth quarter Thursday. He had just five points at the time, before the Nuggets stormed back to beat the Mavericks at the buzzer. The last shot was the last two points of Afflalo's 19-point quarter. He has been up-and-down lately, but the effort certainly had to boost the 25-year-old's confidence. Fantasy owners should not expect this kind of game every night, but the former UCLA Bruin has the ability to impact every game. Continue utilizing him as a low-end guard moving forward.
News: Two night after scoring 22 against the Timberwolves, Nuggets SG Arron Afflalo managed just four points Monday against the Rockets as Kevin Martin and Luis Scola combined to score 62 points.
Analysis: Afflalo played very well in January, averaging 13.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists, but he is prone to just disappearing like this on occasion. Still, he is having a career season shooting-wise and remains worth using in deeper leagues as a low-end starting guard.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo isn't known for his offense, however, has been scoring much for frequently of late for Denver. Afflalo, who always draws the assignment of covering the oppositions best player, is averaging 15.6 points over his last 15 games, which has raised his season average to 12.9 points per contest. "I'm just trying to get consistently better," Afflalo said of his offense. "Nothing more than that." His Nuggets teammates have also taken notice of Afflalo's recent offensive contributions with Carmelo Anthony saying he appreciates the former UCLA Bruin more each day. "He gets to watch me work and obviously watch me play," Afflalo said. "I watch him just as well. I just try to take things from different players that I see that are very effective."
Analysis: Afflalo has played well for Denver this season, averaging career highs across the board. Much of that can be attributed to the career-high 35.1 minutes a game he has been averaging, but Afflalo is shooting a whopping 51 percent from the field and 45 percent from downtown. While he doesn't do anything exceptionally well, the fourth-year guard continues to be a solid contributor in most statistical categories. Continue to roll him with in deeper formats as long as he remains productive.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo was able to play 39 minutes on Tuesday against the Wizards despite having a sore hand. X-rays came back negative on his left hand during Sunday's game. The team classified it as a bruise, but he seemed to be fine versus Washington. He shot 6 for 14 from the field -- going 2 for 5 from downtown -- and nailing all four of his foul shots. Afflalo finished with 18 points, four assists and three rebounds for the Nuggets. Denver would go on to win the game, 120-109.
Analysis: Afflalo didn't have to worry about J.R. Smith taking any of his minutes on Tuesday, as Smith didn't get off the bench. Afflalo has been able to post solid numbers over his last five games, but they seem to rotate -- good then bad then back to good. While this pattern probably is just a coincidence, it is interesting. He's averaging 13.4 points, 3.6 assists and 3.6 rebounds over his last five contests. He's shooting 48.9 percent from the field over that span as well, which is nice for Fantasy owners in category-based formats. It seems like Afflalo's X-rays were just a precaution the team took and that he's fine for owners to use. Keep viewing Afflalo as a serviceable option in deeper formats.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo was temporarily bothered by a sore hand and scored just nine points in the Nuggets' 121-107 victory over Indiana on Sunday night. Afflalo had X-rays taken on his left hand at halftime and the results came back negative, according to the Denver Post. Afflalo, who finished 3 of 7 from the field in 33 minutes, could just have a deep bruise. After the game, Afflalo said he'll be able to play against Washington on Tuesday.
Analysis: Afflalo added five assists and two rebounds while posting his average minutes in Denver's victory. It's possible the tests on his hand were merely precautionary but Fantasy owners might want to keep tabs on the starting shooting guard prior to Tuesday's game. He is averaging 12.9 points per game this season while shooting 51.9 percent from the field. Consider him a viable option at guard in deeper Fantasy formats for now.
News: After a dismal 2-for-6 shooting performance on Wednesday (missing all three of his 3-point attempts), Denver guard Arron Afflalo bounced back with a solid outing on Friday. He shot 8 for 11 from the floor -- going 5 for 7 from downtown -- and converting 1 of his 2 foul shots against the Lakers, finishing with 22 points. He added a steal, four rebounds and four assists in his 41 minutes of action. Afflalo was the leading scorer until Carmelo Anthony got a layup at the end of the game when Los Angeles defenders weren't playing defense. The Lakers would go on to beat the Nuggets, 107-97.
Analysis: Afflalo has been playing very well through all of the trade speculation in Denver. He's shooting 56.5 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the 3-point arc over his last five games. Afflalo's averaging 15.0 points, 4.0 boards and 3.2 assists an outing over that span. While Afflalo would see a boost in production and Fantasy value if 'Melo is traded, that hasn't happened...yet. As long as Anthony remains in Denver, Afflalo will remain a viable guard option in deeper category-based Fantasy leagues -- but he does have an upside.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo tallied 14 points and four rebounds in the Nuggets' 110-97 loss at San Antonio on Sunday night. Afflalo connected on 6 of 12 shots from the field, but was scoreless from 3-point range to finish with double figures in scoring for the fourth straight game. Afflalo added two assists and two blocks as Denver's three-game winning streak was halted.
Analysis: Afflalo has been shooting the ball remarkably well and has netted at least 50 percent of his shots in the last four games. In that stretch, he is 28 for 44 from the field and is averaging 20.0 points -- nearly twice his average of 12.8 PPG this season. Afflalo continues to post solid minute totals -- he logged 35 minutes Sunday -- and makes for a decent Fantasy option in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Better known for his defense, Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo went off offensively on Tuesday night in a blowout win over Phoenix. Afflalo showed the Nuggets might not need Carmelo Anthony, who also played well but might get traded shortly, as he scored a game-high 31 points in the 132-98 loss. He shot 11 of 14 from the field and hit two 3-pointers. Afflalo added nine rebounds and two blocks in the game and went 7 for 7 from the line over 38 minutes.
Analysis: The 31 points shattered Afflalo's previous career high of 25 points set on Dec. 5 of this season against Memphis. He's still averaging just 13.8 points per game over his last five contests. Fantasy owners should hope for more efforts like this one, but should definitely not expect it. Continue to view the 25-year-old as a option in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: After not scoring a single point in his last outing, Nuggets G Arron Afflalo got back on track on Monday night against the Rockets. He scored 15 points and hauled in four rebounds in the 113-106 win. He was an efficient 5 of 7 from the field, including 2 for 2 from beyond the arc, and converted both of his free throw attempts. Afflalo, who played 39 minutes, also had three assists and a blocked shot in the victory.
Analysis: Aside from being shutout the other night, Afflalo continues to have a career year for Denver and is averaging 12.2 points with 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists over his last five contests. He sees solid playing time as a starter and is one of the better defenders on the Nuggets. While Afflalo is a solid contributor in most statistical categories, he does not do one thing exceptionally well. Continue to view the 25-year-old as a option in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo chipped in 17 points on Wednesday as the Nuggets were decimated with injuries and still managed to defeat Minnesota. The former UCLA guard shot 6 of 12 from the field and hit two 3-pointers in the contest. He added six rebounds, four assists and a steal and block.
Analysis: Afflalo plays 36 minutes per game for the Nuggets and only scores around 12 points per night. He contributes across the board, but does nothing at an elite level. For that, use him in the deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Denver SG Arron Afflalo nailed two 3-pointers on Wednesday in San Antonio to score 12 points for the Nuggets. Afflalo shot 4 for 11 overall in the performance and had a double-double with 10 rebounds. He added three assists, two steals and had two turnovers in the game.
Analysis: The double-double was a nice touch on Wednesday for Afflalo, who is averaging 14.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and over two 3-pointers per game in his last five. Afflalo is having a career year in Denver and continues to see solid playing time while starting. That said, he's a high-energy guy who doesn't contribute enough statistically to matter in all Fantasy leagues. He is more of a deeper-league option.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo put up double-digit scoring for the second straight game on Thursday night against the Spurs. He went 8 for 12 from the field, including 2 for 3 from downtown, and finished with 20 points in the 113-112 loss. He went a perfect 2 for 2 from the charity stripe. Afflalo, who played 38 minutes, also had five rebounds and four assists in the defeat.
Analysis: Afflalo is having a career year in Denver and continues to see solid playing time while starting. Along with being a solid defender, he has got his scoring up this season and has put up 20-plus points three times this season. He contributes enough in all categories to be a viable option in deeper formats so continue to roll with Afflalo with Minnesota left on the schedule in Week 8 (Dec. 13-19).
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo shot 6 of 10 from the field and was back in double figures on Tuesday in a win over Orlando. Afflalo shot 3 for 4 from 3-point range and added four assists, four rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: The former UCLA standout is getting 35 minutes per game but doesn't always score well. He's very streaky putting the ball in the basket. Afflalo makes his Fantasy name by hitting some threes but does little else that would make him worthy of use outside the deeper formats.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo tried to pick up the slack for Carmelo Anthony missing Wednesday's game against the Celtics. Afflalo shot 60 percent from the field -- hitting both his 3-pointers -- and connected on both his foul shots, finishing with 16 points. He would has four rebounds and a steal in his 34 minutes of action. His contributions would not be enough though, as Boston prevailed 105-89.
Analysis: Afflalo has been getting plenty of minutes for Denver this year, but his production has been hit or miss. Over his last five games, Afflalo is averaging 15.4 points and 2.8 boards per contest. While he did have a good shooting performance on Wednesday, Afflalo still has some work to be done. He's worth using in most Fantasy formats as he is a good source of 3-pointers.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo had another typical game on Friday night against the Clippers. He scored nine points and hauled in three rebounds in the 109-104 win. Afflalo, who played 35 minutes, shot 4 for 8 from the field, including 1 of 3 from beyond the arc. He also chipped in with an assist, a steal and a blocked shot in the victory.
Analysis: Afflalo continues to see solid minutes while starting for Denver and is averaging 12.8 points with 4.4 rebounds over his last four contests. Those are almost on par for what he is averaging on the year. His shooting percentage from downtown has dipped over the last few games but remains a solid contributor in threes as well as rebounds. Continue to view Afflalo as a viable option in most Fantasy formats.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo has connected for multiple 3-pointers six times this season. Afflalo went 5 for 11 from the field and 2 for 4 from downtown in his 34 minutes on the court. He also hit one foul shot, finishing with 13 points and five rebounds. He would add four assists before fouling out of the game. Denver would lose to Chicago, 99-98.
Analysis: Afflalo is averaging 12.3 points and 7.3 rebounds over his last four games. He's been getting steady playing time and shooting over 43 percent from downtown. He's a good source of 3-pointers and shoots a high percentage in all three categories. With his rebounding up recently, Afflalo is worth using in all deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo had his best all-around performance of the season in Thursday nights loss to Portland. Afflalo tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Interestingly enough, Afflalo has now scored in double digits in all six of Denvers losses this season while recording three games of seven points or less in the Nuggets' six wins (10.3 PPG).
Analysis: Afflalo is beginning to show signs of why he was pegged as a popular sleeper in Fantasy drafts this season. Carmelo Anthony did foul out for the first time this season so Afflalo saw extended playing time, and he took advantage of it. He wont earn many assists or steals but he is a decent rebounder to pair with his rising scoring average. Afflalo Owners who drafted him in deeper Fantasy leagues may want to take him off their bench.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo played well on Tuesday despite Denver tanking the game against the Pacers. Afflalo shot 6 of 9 from the field over 32 minutes and scored 17 points to lead all starters for Denver. He went 5 for 5 from the free throw line and added three rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in the contest.
Analysis: Afflalo has scored in double figures in four of his last five games and is averaging 13.4 points per contest over that span. That comes with 3.6 rebounds and a steal and block per night. He's also giving Fantasy owners solid amounts of 3-pointers and is shooting well. Afflalo is beginning to become a breakout player this year for Fantasy owners who should have him active in many deeper leagues right now.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo is giving the Nuggets solid production this season thus far after four games. He was solid scoring the basketball in Wednesday's loss to Dallas as he dropped 17 points on 7 of 11 shooting over 41 minutes. Afflalo hit three 3-pointers and added five rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot.
Analysis: Afflalo, a career six-point-per-game scorer, is averaging almost 15 points per contest this season over 36.5 minutes. The former UCLA standout is adding 3.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and a steal per contest with two 3-pointers. Afflalo was a stud in the preseason and showed the ability to contribute in all facets of the game. He's still doing it in the regular season and Fantasy owners should have him active in more than 26 percent of leagues right now.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo showed he can provide the scoring on Wednesday in the season opener against Utah. Afflalo, the former UCLA star, dropped 22 points over 35 minutes on 8 of 11 shooting. He nailed three 3-pointers and added two steals, three assists and two boards.
Analysis: Afflalo shot the lights out on Wednesday and was a major reason the Nuggets dominated the Jazz. Afflalo was a stud in the preseason and showed the ability to contribute in all facets of the game. He clearly proved he can do that in the regular season and Fantasy owners should be taking notice.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo logged almost 38 minutes in the preseason finale on Friday against Phoenix, as the Nuggets rested all of their healthy starters -- Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups and Nene. Afflalo scored 24 points, dished out 10 assists and grabbed nine rebounds, just shy of a triple-double. He went 9 for 19 from the field -- 2 for 7 from behind the 3-point arc -- and made 4 of his 5 foul shots.
Analysis: Afflalo's numbers on Friday are a bit skewed as Melo, Billups and Nene didn't play. Afflalo had a solid preseason and is looking to be more of a contributor this season. He averaged 8.8 points, 3.1 boards and 1.7 assists last year and played in all 82 games. While he shouldn't be a high target on Draft Day, Afflalo has an upside and is worth a late round pick.
News: Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo was the second leading scorer for Denver in Thursday's preseason win over the Clippers. Afflalo scored 27 points on a 8-for-18 performance from the field -- hitting 40 percent of his shots from downtown -- and connected on all but one of his eight foul shots. The third-year guard was one board away from recording a double-double as he finished with nine rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots.
Analysis: Afflalo is making a case for increased minutes this year. He's having a solid preseason and is looking to improve off his best year as a pro in 2009-10, his first with Denver. He averaged 8.8 points, 3.1 boards and 1.7 assists last year and played in all 82 games. He's scored more than 20 points on multiple occasions this preseason and will challenge J.R. Smith for minutes off the bench. Afflalo is worth drafting in deeper Fantasy leagues as he has a big upside. Plus if Carmelo Anthony does get traded during the season, Afflalo would definitely see an increase in minutes.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo had another strong showing in Tuesday's preseason game against the Timberwolves. Afflalo had 20 points on 8 of 14 shooting while logging 35 minutes. He went 3 of 4 from downtown and added two rebounds and a steal in the 122-108 loss.
Analysis: Afflalo has had a strong preseason thus far, but normally doesn't much more than 20 minutes a game. He averaged 8.8 points, 3.1 boards and 1.7 assists for Denver last year and is known for his defense rather than his ability to put the ball in the basket. He is a decent option in category-based Fantasy leagues, but is only worth drafting in deeper leagues.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo shot 70 percent from the field, hitting two 3-pointers, and finishing with 18 points on Friday night against Portland. He also tallied one assist, one board and one steal.
Analysis: Afflalo got the start in the first preseason game, but he normally doesn't last much longer than 20 minutes in a contest. He averaged 8.8 points, 3.1 boards and 1.7 assists for Denver last year while shooting 43.4 percent from downtown. He is a decent option in category-based Fantasy leagues, but shouldn't be targeted on Draft Day outside deeper formats.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo had four points with two assists and two rebounds in Monday's game at Dallas. He has been held under 10 points in each of his last three games.
Analysis: Despite starting, Afflalo does not get much more than 20 minutes per game. He sees limited touches and is not a viable Fantasy option as a result.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo played well on Wednesday in the starting lineup against the Boston Celtics. The former UCLA standout guard shot 5 for 8 from the field and hit two 3-pointers to score 13 points.
Analysis: Afflalo has 24 points combined in his last two games and just 12 combined in the previous three. He isn't rebounding, he isn't dishing and he's hitting on just one 3-pointer per game, even as a starter. Affalo remains just a Fantasy option for deeper leagues.
News: Denver G Arron Afflalo scored 11 points in a loss to the Knicks on Tuesday. Afflalo shot 4 of 6 from the field while hitting three 3-pointers. He also added two boards and a steal in 35 minutes. It was the second time in his last five games that he has scored in double figures.
Analysis: Afflalo is averaging seven points and 2.2 rebounds over his last five games. He can be a cheap source for 3-pointers and provides Fantasy value in only the deepest of leagues at this time.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo had six points with two rebounds, two steals and an assist in Monday's game at Phoenix. It snapped a string of back-to-back double-digit performances for Afflalo. He played 33 minutes.
Analysis: Afflalo is still starting at shooting guard for the Nuggets and is getting around 30 minutes per game. He is a nice, cheap source for three-point shooting, but his appeal is merely that of a stopgap measure fore deeper leagues in Fantasy as his offensive upside is not very high.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo had six points with two rebounds in Thursday's game against San Antonio. It was his third straight game in single digits.
Analysis: Now that Carmelo Anthony is back from his injury, there will be fewer chances for Afflalo to chip in and contribute. He is not a viable Fantasy starter at this time in any format.
News: Nuggets SG Aaron Afflalo shrugged off an ankle injury to score eight points Tuesday against the Mavericks. In 23 minutes he shot 2 of 7 from the field, 2 of 2 from 3-point range. He also grabbed four rebounds.
Analysis: Prior to injuring his ankle Saturday against the Jazz, Afflalo was scoring on a consistent basis. Hed reached double figures in five straight games, and seven of eight. Once his ankle is healthy again he will be a suitable Fantasy option in deeper leagues.
News: According to The Denver Post, Nuggets G Arron Afflalo is dealing with a sprained left ankle. However, he was able to do some court work Monday -- against the wishes of the team's training staff -- and says he will be able to play Tuesday against Dallas.
Analysis: Afflalo may play, but with Carmelo Anthony expected to return Tuesday his limited Fantasy appeal will take a hit. He will see erratic minutes off the bench and is not a viable option in most formats.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo scored 14 points with three rebounds, three steals and two assists in Sunday's game at San Antonio. He is averaging 14.0 points over his last five games.
Analysis: Afflalo has made the most of an increase in shot attempts while Carmelo Anthony has sat with an ankle injury the last three games. Once 'Melo returns, expect Afflalo to return closer to his season numbers (8.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists).
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo shot 4 for 8 and hit two threes on Friday as he scored 11 points during a loss at Oklahoma City. The former UCLA standout added two dimes, two boards and a steal.
Analysis: Afflalo scored 24 points on Monday against Charlotte but is still averaging just 13.0 PPG over his last five and 8.9 on the year. He's clearly not a consistent scorer and since he doesn't do much else in high numbers for Fantasy owners outside of three-point shooting, he's only worth owning in deeper leagues.
News: Denver SG Arron Afflalo, who managed 19 points and hit five threes on Saturday against the Hornets, one-upped himself on Monday in a win over Charlotte. With the Nuggets playing without Carmelo Anthony, Afflalo stepped up his game once again and scored 24 points and this time hit six threes. He shot 9 for 11 overall over 35 minutes and added seven assists and a steal.
Analysis: Afflalo is shooting over 63 percent over his last five games and has 11 threes in his last two alone. Anthony will be back soon and this is not going to continue for Afflalo. Still, if he can turn this into consistency, he could be worth using in deeper formats.
News: No last-second magic for the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday night. Arron Afflalo made sure of that. Afflalo had a season-high 19 points and hit two 3-pointers in overtime to help the Denver Nuggets beat the Hornets 116-110. Afflalo shot 7 of 12 from the field as he got the start. He hit five threes and added three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Analysis: Afflalo is averaging 11.6 points per game over his last five games and that comes with two threes per night. Still, he has only been in double figures in three of his last five and is clearly inconsistent. He's not worth starting in most Fantasy leagues but should be owned in deeper formats.
News: Denver guard Arron Afflalo scored 15 points and grabbed five boards with five assists on Monday in a win over Minnesota. Afflalo started and played 31 minutes as he shot 6 of 12 from the floor with three threes. He added a steal and a block.
Analysis: The former UCLA standout is averaging 11.8 points, 3.6 boards, a steal and almost a three per night over his last five games. He's seeing some more minutes of late but that isn't expected to continue. What you can expect out of Afflalo remains mediocre production only worth using in deep Fantasy leagues.
News: Nuggets SG Arron Afflalo scored only three points Thursday at Detroit, giving him less than 10 in seven of his last eight games. He's averaging 6.9 points during that stretch.
Analysis: Afflalo starts for the Nuggets, but reserve J.R. Smith is the team's real shooting guard. Afflalo doesn't contribute enough statistically to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave him for deeper leagues.
News: Nuggets SG Arron Afflalo, who moved into the starting role a few games ago, had his best performance as a starter Tuesday against the Nets. He had 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes, shooting 6 for 8 from the field.
Analysis: Afflalo did most of his damage as a reserve earlier in the season. He has scored in double figures in only three of his seven starts. He has some offensive ability, but until he gets more consistent with his scoring, he's not worth using except in the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Denver SG Arron Afflalo continues to play superb defense and did so on Friday night in a win over the Lakers. Afflalo scored eight points in the game on 3 of 4 shooting with a three. He added three rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Analysis: Afflalo is having a fine season for him and has been starting in the last three games. That said, his scoring numbers and minutes have actually dipped since entering the starting lineup. He only has low-end Fantasy appeal for Week 4 (Nov. 16-22) especially since Denver plays three times.
News: Nuggets SG Arron Afflalo gave his team a boost off the bench Tuesday at Indiana, scoring 15 points in 23 minutes. He also had three rebounds and one assist. He scored a total of 10 points over his first three games.
Analysis: Afflalo normally isn't able to do so much scoring in his limited playing time, which will only decrease when J.R. Smith returns from suspension. Leave him on waivers in Fantasy.
News: Nuggets G Arron Afflalo played 23 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's season opener against Houston. He scored 3 points with 2 assists and a rebound.
Analysis: Afflalo was a possibility to be started at shooting guard for the first seven games of the season while J.R. Smith served his suspension, but that role went to Anthony Carter. Afflalo is more of a defensive player anyway, and would not carry much Fantasy appeal.
News:Carmelo Anthony scored 17 points, Arron Afflalo added 15 and the Denver Nuggets ran off with a 102-70 exhibition victory over Partizan Belgrade on Saturday night. The Denver Nuggets acquired Afflalo and Walter Sharpe from Detroit in exchange for a future second-round draft pick in the offseason.
Analysis: Afflalo will be a reserve for the Nuggets and has minimal Fantasy value. He averaged 4.9 points and 1.8 rebounds last year with Detroit while making 43 three-pointers. Afflalo has been too inconsistent in two seasons to warrant a selection on Draft Day. Instead, add him off the waiver wire if he starts out playing well.
News: The Denver Nuggets acquire Arron Afflalo and Walter Sharpe from Detroit in exchange for a future second-round draft pick. The Nuggets also received cash in Monday's deal.
Analysis: The Pistons freed up close to $1.8 million in salary cap space with the move. Afflalo averaged 4.9 points in 74 games last season. The former UCLA star scored a career-high 24 at Houston on March 18. Sharpe, a 6-foot-9 forward, appeared in nine games. Neither player carries any significant Fantasy appeal.
News: Detroit SG Arron Afflalo scored in double digits in Sunday's game against the Bobcats, putting up 12 points off the bench in 25 minutes of work. We went a perfect 4-for-4 in the game, adding two rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: Afflalo's performance off the bench was greatly overshadowed by Will Bynum who scored a career-high 32 points in the game. Afflalo remains a low-end option left for only the deepest of leagues.
News: Detroit SG Arron Afflalo scored 13 points in a starting opportunity on Sunday against the Heat in a losing effort. He added two assists, two rebounds and two steals as well.
Analysis: Afflalo is getting the starting not as both Richard Hamilton and Allen Iverson are out of action with injuries. Afflalo is worth taking a flier on in deeper leagues as he is likely get decent minutes off the bench until Iverson returns as we expect Hamilton to be back on Tuesday. Think of him as a stopgap option for the upcoming scoring period.
News: Detroit SG Arron Afflalo should always be dealing with a sprained thumb. He played through the ailment on Tuesday night at Dallas and scored 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting with four threes in 39 minutes. Afflalo was forced to play more with Allen Iverson, Richard Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace out for the game.
Analysis: Afflalo doesn't generally get minutes such as he did on Tuesday and it shouldn't continue heading into Week 22 as Iverson, Wallace and Hamilton should be returning. Don't pick him up in Fantasy for the time being.
News: The Detroit News reports that Arron Afflalo is expected to be available for Tuesday's game in Dallas. He is dealing with a sprained right thumb.
Analysis: Afflalo is averaging 15.7 minutes over his last five games and is not a very prominent part of the team's rotation. Continue to ignore him in Fantasy.
News: Detroit SG Arron Afflalo failed to score in 28 minutes on Friday night in a win over the Kings. Afflalo was 0-for-4 from the field and 0-for-2 from deep. He had one block, one steal, three rebounds and no assists with two turnovers.
Analysis: Afflalo is averaging 4.8 points, 3.4 boards and less than one three per game over his last five and those are all actual improvements on his season numbers. Right now he's not worth owning in Fantasy and should remain on the waiver wire.
News: Detroit SG Arron Afflalo scored eight points in Saturday's win over the Bobcats in 21 minutes of action. Afflalo added just one three pointer and did not record another Fantasy stat.
Analysis: Afflalo is dropping just 5.8 points over his last five contests and he does little else worthy of Fantasy consideration. Right now he's not worth owning in Fantasy and should remain on the waiver wire.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that Arron Afflalo played a key role in Thursday's win at Golden State. His defense against Corey Maggette disrupted the Warriors' offense and Afflalo made decisive cuts to the basket offensively while scoring 11 second-half points.
Analysis: Afflalo may have earned himself more playing time as a result of the solid game. But Fantasy owners should continue to leave him on the waiver wire until he can produce on a consistent level. His playing time is too erratic for that to happen now.
News: Detroit SG Arron Afflalo poured in 28 points to lead both teams Saturday against the Bucks. Afflalo shot 10-of-12 from the field over 25 minutes of action.
Analysis: Despite Saturday's outing, Afflalo is not a player to be considered in Fantasy as he does very little even when given playing time during the regular season.
News: Pistons G Arron Afflalo appeared in 75 games as a rookie, averaging 3.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg and 0.7 apg.
Analysis: Perhaps his best game of the season came in the regular season finale with the team resting its starters for the playoffs. He saw 28 minutes, scored 15 points, added eight rebounds and four assists. Unfortunately, he doesn't figure to see that kind of playing time often next season.
News: SG Richard Hamilton, Detroit's leading scorer at 17.7 points per game, missed his second game Wednesday because of a sore left hip. He is questionable for the game against Miami on Thursday. Arron Afflalo started in his place and had five points and two rebounds.
Analysis: This goes to show that Afflalo is not a player to be considered in Fantasy as he does very little even when given playing time.
News:The Sports Xchange reports Pistons rookie Arron Afflalo guarded a variety of players at UCLA but he got a new experience last week. He found himself matched against Orlando's 6-foot-10 forward Rashard Lewis for a few possessions. "I wasn't going to let him move me," Afflalo said. "Those are challenges I'm always willing to take."
Analysis: Afflalo, who is 6-5, has been playing some minutes at small forward as well as shooting guard. Chauncey Billups says Afflalo can handle any assignment thrown his way because of his defensive intensity. "He's just not going to let anybody get anything easy," Billups said. "If it's a bigger guy, he's going to front him hard, where he won't be able to touch it. He's going to pressure guys and he's not going to let you get in your sweet spots. It's not always how big and tall you are, it's about heart and will and determination and he has all those things." Afflalo is a solid defender, but is not much of an offensive weapon at this stage in his career. He remains just a long-term Fantasy keeper.
News:The Sports Xchange reports the Pistons are going with a shorter rotation for the time being, mainly to help first-round draft pick Rodney Stuckey settle in as the team's main backcourt reserve. Coach Flip Saunders, after consulting with president of basketball operations Joe Dumars, decided to cut his rotation to eight players prior to the team's victory over Toronto Tuesday night. That will allow Stuckey to play more minutes with the starters. Fellow rookie Arron Afflalo is the player most affected by decision. He had been backing up shooting guard Richard Hamilton. Saunders said he will expand his rotation when the team plays back-to-backs.
Analysis: The rookie out of UCLA has seen his minutes severely reduced ever since the return of Stuckey in late December. He has played less than 10 minutes in five January games and didn't even get into one game. It appears as though it is only going to get worse. Afflalo has little to no Fantasy value at this time.
News: Pistons SG Arron Afflalo started for the second straight game to start the season in Friday's win at Orlando. He scored eight points and had one rebound and an assist. He is expected to return to the bench when, according to The Sports Xchange, starter Richard Hamilton is expected to return.
Analysis: Afflalo started in both games, but did not factor prominently. He's not a player that will get much of a chance unless an injury or some other circumstance creates playing time. He's not worth owning in most Fantasy formats at this time.
News: Playing in the place of Richard Hamilton (personal) in Thursday's opener at Miami, Aaron Afflalo scored just three points with a rebound, an assist and a steal.
Analysis: Rip Hamilton should be back as soon as Friday night and Afflalo's Fantasy appeal (if there is any) will be short lived. He's not going to be seeing enough minutes to matter in most Fantasy formats. In fact, he saw just 15 minutes even though he started.
News: Detroit Pistons guard Richard Hamilton will miss the team's season-opener at Miami on Thursday because of a family emergency, and rookie Arron Afflalo was expected to start in his place. Hamilton could rejoin the Pistons in Orlando on Friday, coach Flip Saunders said.
Analysis: The Pistons play Friday night at Orlando and it's possible that Rip will return for that game. He is also dealing with an ankle injury, but it doesn't appear that will limit him.
