(12/10/2014) Spurs shooting guard Marco Belinelli led the team in scoring Wednesday, racking up a season-high 22 points on 6 of 13 shooting, including 3 of 3 shooting from behind the arc, in his team's 109-95 win over the Knicks.

The Spurs were extremely shorthanded Wednesday, with Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard sitting out. That allowed Belinelli to be a force off the bench, matching a season high with 13 field-goal attempts in 30 minutes of action. He also chipped in four rebounds, three assists and two steals Wednesday. The Spurs will move on to face the Lakers Friday.

(12/6/2014) Spurs shooting guard Marco Belinelli scored a season-high 20 points on 7 of 12 shooting, including 4 of 6 shooting from behind the arc, in his team's 123-101 win over the Timberwolves Saturday.

Belinelli played 28 minutes off the bench with Manu Ginobili (shoulder) sidelined and worked as the second unit's primary scorer, setting new season highs with seven field goals and four three-pointers made and six assists recorded. He also kicked in two rebounds. The Spurs will look for a third straight win Tuesday at Utah.

(11/22/2014) Spurs guard Marco Belinelli said he's ready to go for Saturday's game against the Nets, the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Belinelli missed eight games with a groin issue before returning Friday, and he said he didn't aggravate the injury while playing 10 minutes in his return. He's shot 62.5 percent over his first four games while averaging 7.5 points.

(11/22/2014) Spurs forward Matt Bonner (illness) and guard Cory Joseph (ankle) will join center Tiago Splitter (calf) and guard Patty Mills (shoulder) on the sidelines Saturday, as all four players have been ruled out.

Bonner and Joseph were deemed doubtful for Saturday's game, so their absence doesn't come as a surprise. Marco Belinelli, who was listed as questionable, is a gametime decision for the matchup against the Nets.

(11/6/2014) Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said before Thursday's game that the groin injury of shooting guard Marco Belinelli will take a week to 10 days to heal, the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Belinelli suffered the injury in Wednesday's game and had already been ruled out Thursday. It appears he'll be on the shelf until at least next Friday, when the Spurs face the Lakers.

(3/29/2014) Spurs guard Marco Belinelli went off on Friday, scoring a team-high 27 points on 10 of 15 from the floor, including 6 of 9 from 3-point land, and 1 of 2 from the free throw line in a 133-102 victory over the Nuggets.

Belinelli did all of his damage in 29 minutes of game action, also chipping in with two assists, one rebound, two blocks and one steal. He is averaging 15.0 points and 3.2 assists over his last five games played.

Marco Belinelli losing his role

(3/4/2014) Spurs guard Marco Belinelli scored in double figures Tuesday against the Cavaliers, but still saw a limited role for the second straight game.  

Belinelli played just 19 minutes in the blowout win, just two days after logging just 17 off the bench. He managed to score 11 points despite shooting 3 of 8 from the field, with all five of his misses coming from three-point range, thanks to a 5-for-5 mark at the free-throw line. He added three rebounds and two assists in the 122-101 win.

Belinelli is putting together one of the best seasons of his career, but his production is likely to take a hit down the stretch with the team fully healthy. He is still averaging 11.6 points per game, just below his career high.
