Grizzlies' Mike Conley explodes for 36 points in overtime win over 76ers

(12/13/2014) Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley scored 36 points and passed out nine assists in the 120-115 win in overtime over Philadelphia.

Conley shot 13 for 22, including 5 for 9 from three-point range, part of a 41-point fourth quarter for the Grizzlies in the comeback effort. 

Memphis will look to keep winning Tuesday against the Warriors.

(12/5/2014) Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley scored 23 points on 7 of 15 shooting while dishing out 10 assists in his team's 107-101 loss to the Spurs Friday.

Conley's double-double was his fifth of the season and third of the points-assists variety, and his 23 points represented his highest scoring total since putting up the same number on Nov. 11. In addition to his quality scoring effort, the guard chipped in one rebound and one steal in 38 minutes. Conley will square off with the Heat Sunday.

Conley played just 27 minutes in the loss, which ended the Grizzlies' five-game winning streak, turning the ball over a season-high five times while racking up six assists, three steals and two rebounds. The Grizzlies return home after a four-game road trip to face the Spurs Friday.

(11/19/2014) Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley scored 19 points on 7 of 17 shooting while hauling in a season-high 10 rebounds in his team's 95-92 loss to the Raptors Wednesday.

Conley entered the game with just 20 rebounds in 11 games before shattering his previous season high of four boards. It was his third double-double of the season, with the other two big performances coming on high-assist nights. He chipped in five assists and one steal in 42 minutes on a night where the Grizzlies were short-handed due to an illness that kept five players sidelined. He'll square off with the Celtics Friday.

Conley has delivered four 20-point performances in his last five games, and Thursday's double-double was his second of the season. He played a season-high 39 minutes in the win, which moved the Grizzlies to 8-1 going into Saturday's matchup with the Pistons.

(11/7/2014) Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley scored a team-high 20 points on 7 of 14 shooting, including 3 of 4 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 91-89 win over the Thunder in Oklahoma City Friday.

Conley has scored 44 points in his last two games while delivering excellent shooting efforts, making more than 57 percent of his shots during the two-game stretch. He chipped in five assists, three rebounds and one steal in 35 minutes Friday as the Grizzlies moved to 6-0. They'll look to stay undefeated when they face the Bucks in Milwaukee Saturday.

In four games, Conley is averaging 13.1 points and 5.5 assists.

(11/4/2014) Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley aggravated his sprained right ankle in Monday's win over the Pelicans, but said it won't keep him out of the lineup Wednesday at Phoenix.

"Obviously, I'm able to play," he told the Commercial Appeal. "I'm going to be fine."

Conley scored 11 points on 2-of-10 shooting and added five assists and two steals Monday. He's averaging 13.2 points and 5.5 assists through four games.

"(The ankle is) a little sore this morning, but it’s always like that in the morning time," Conley said. "I think I’ll be fine by game time."

(5/3/2014) Grizzlies guard Mike Conley still felt some soreness in practice on Friday, but told reporters his hamstring injury is not "as bad as I thought." He is expected to play in Game 7 against the Thunder on Saturday, according to the team's sideline reporter.

Conley suffered a strained right hamstring early in the fourth quarter of Game 6. He is averaging 15.2 points, 7.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds over his first six games of the opening round of the playoffs.

(5/2/2014) Grizzlies guard Mike Conley was forced to leave Thursday's game against the Thunder in the fourth quarter, and was unable to return as the Grizzlies lost Game 6, 104-84.

Conley suffered a strained right hamstring early in the fourth quarter, and though he tried to play through, had to go to the locker room for good with just under nine minutes remaining. He will be re-evaluated Friday before receiving treatment, but told the Commercial Appeal he plans to play in Saturday's Game 7.

(4/17/2014) Grizzlies guard Mike Conley did not appear limited at all by a hamstring injury Wednesday, as he played 42 minutes in the last game of the regular season against the Mavericks.

Playing for playoff seeding, the Grizzlies held nothing back in a 106-105 overtime win. Conley scored 22 points on 8 of 16 shooting and added four rebounds, five assists and a steal, while turning the ball over three times in the win.

Conley ended up missing 10 games this season, his highest total since he was a rookie, but he played well when healthy. He averaged a career-high 17.1 points per game on 44.9 percent shooting, while adding 2.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.5 steals in 33.4 minutes per game.

Conley was able to finish the game, scoring a 14 points and passing out seven assists in the contest. The injury shouldn't keep him from playing Wednesday against Dallas.

Conley shot 9 of 12 from the floor, including 3 of 5 from downtown, and 2 of 5 from the free throw line. He also contributed with six assists, five rebounds and two assists while logging 30 minutes of game action. He is averaging 18.6 points, 5.4 assists and 4.4 rebounds over his last five games.

(3/5/2014) Grizzlies guard Mike Conley couldn't get anything going Wednesday, and he barely played in the second half of a 103-94 loss to the Nets.

Conley scored just two points in 21 minutes of action, while missing all eight of his field-goal attempts in the game. He did little else to make up for the poor shooting performance, finishing with three rebounds and three assists as well as six turnovers in the loss.

Conley has scored 20-plus points in two of three March games, but has failed to reach double figures in three of his last five. He is still averaging 17.6 points and 6.3 assists per game, the best numbers of his career.

It was Conley's first appearance in February after missing seven straight games before the break while recovering from a sprained ankle. He also recorded five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 31 minutes Tuesday. Conley has averaged 18.1 points and 6.3 assists over 44 games played.

(2/8/2014) Grizzlies guard Mike Conley is still dealing with swelling in his ankle, but has made significant progress in his recover and could be back soon.

Though Conley has already been ruled out for Saturday and Sunday, coach Dave Joerger told the Commercial Appeal Conley will be a game-time decision beyond that. Conley told the paper he is aiming for a return Tuesday against the Wizards, the second-to-last game before the All-Star break.

Conley will end up missing a minimum of five games as a result of the injury, which isn't so bad, considering how bad it seemed at first. Conley is averaging a career-best 18.0 points per game, while adding 2.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists as well.

Conley got tangled up with J.J. Barea midway through the fourth quarter of Friday's win over the Timberwolves, suffering a right ankle sprain. He will miss Saturday's contest against Milwaukee, but is still hopeful to be back on the court for a few games before the All-Star game.

After Saturday, the Grizzlies will have only six games left before the All-Star break. In 43 appearances, Conley has averaged 18.0 points, 6.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 34.5 minutes per game this season.
