He will miss the remainder of the season as a result of the injury and will be unable to play basketball for at least a month. Fesenko is planning as if he's playing with a splint on his thumb, but Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin thinks Fesenko is not going to be able to play.

Fesenko not much of a factor

(4/2/2011) Jazz center Kyrylo Fesenko wasn't much of a factor during Friday's 96-85 loss to the Lakers. Fesenko finished with just two points in the contest, making both of his shots from the field. He did manage to grab eight rebounds and block two shots while logging 27 minutes.

Fesenko to start Friday

(4/1/2011) Reserve Kyrylo Fesenko will make only his third career start and first of the season Friday night when the Jazz face the Lakers. The Jazz already have ruled out starters Andrei Kirilenko, Raja Bell and Devin Harris because of assorted leg injures as well as reserve guard Ronnie Price. Fesenko making strides

(2/1/2011) Jazz center Kyrylo Fesenko has earned the praises of the Jazz coaches recently for his gradual evolution and hard work ethic. Fesenko who is averaging 2.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 8.9 minutes this season, has shown great improvement with his offensive touch, footwork and passing skills but still needs to work on his free-throw shooting, overall shot selection and defensive presence moving forward. “He does much more work than he used to,” coach Jerry Sloan told the Salt Lake Tribune, prior to practice at the team workout facility on Tuesday. Utah’s coaches believe that Fesenko has the ability to excel. But Sloan also pointed out that Fesenko is still prone to immaturity and sometimes talks too much instead of simply listening. “If the light goes on -- there isn’t a person here that wouldn’t tell you he doesn’t have terrific talent,” Sloan said.
