News: Celtics forward Jeff Green has something to prove after he missed all of last season due to heart surgery, ESPN reports. Green is determined to play in all 82 games this season for the Celtics, despite the team having nothing left to play for. "For me, its big -- missing a year, coming off of heart surgery," he said. "For me its big to come back, play a full year, play every game in the playoffs and to contribute the way I've been in the second half of the season. I just want to continue to make progress and finish the season strong."
Analysis: Green has spent some time on the injury report but has been able to play in all 80 games to this point with no signs of stopping in the last two. He's averaging 12.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and just under a block and 3-pointer per game on the year. That said, he's been much better than that lately and should finish strong. He can be active in most Fantasy formats.

He went 6 of 17 from the field and added six rebounds, three assists and two steals to his stat line, while logging 37 minutes of game action.
Analysis: The 26-year-old has really thrived since become a full-time starter as he is averaging 19.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists on 49 percent shooting from the field over his last 10 starts. He is also giving Fantasy owners 1.5 made treys over that span proving he can be a high-end option when given starter minutes. As long as Green can secure a starting gig once again next year, he will be worth scooping up in the middle rounds in most formats next fall.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green was forced from Friday's contest against the Heat due to a bruised left elbow. Green banged his elbow on a dunk attempt midway through the fourth quarter and immediately was taken back to the locker room. He did not return but finished with 25 points and eight rebounds and two assists prior to taking an early exit.
Analysis: The Celtics will be in action again Saturday night, so we would be surprised if Green is in the lineup for that one. The 26-year-old has really thrived since become a full-time starter as he is averaging 19.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists on 49 percent shooting from the field over his last 10 starts. He is also giving Fantasy owners 1.5 made treys over that span proving he can be a high-end option when given starter minutes.

He shot 13 of 19 from the field and 3 of 4 from three-point range, with six rebounds and four blocked shots. Green played 43 minutes, in a 93-93 win.
Analysis: The Celtics are just 3-4 in Green's seven start run, but he is thriving personally. He is averaging 21.4 points, 3.7 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game in that stretch. Rivers indicated after the game that he may try to keep Green in the starting lineup even when Garnett returns. Either way, Green remains worth starting in most Fantasy formats down the stretch.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green notched his first double-double of the season during Tuesday's contest against the Knicks. Green, who made his second straight start in place of the injured Kevin Garnett, finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the 100-85 defeat. He went 6 of 14 from the field, including 1 of 4 from downtown, to go along with six assists, one steal and one block, while logging 39 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Green has stepped up his production in recent weeks as injuries have forced the Celtics to rely on him as their top scoring option off the bench. However, Garnett's recent injury woes have forced Green into the starting lineup and he has taken advantage of his extended playing time. In fact, Green is now averaging 21.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 dimes as a starter and he is shooting 52 percent from the field over that span. While his 43-point performance against the Heat did inflate his numbers a bit, owners should get Green active while he continue to start.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green had himself a career night during Monday's against the Heat. Green dropped in a career-high 43 points in the 105-103 loss on 14 of 21 shooting from the field, including going 5 of 7 from downtown. Analysis: Green was on fire Monday night as he scored 11 straight points for Boston at one point in the first quarter. After getting off to a bit of a slow start, the 26-year-old has picked up his production in the second half of the season. Green is averaging 16.8 points and 4.4 rebounds over his last 14 games and is shooting 49 percent from the field over that span. He should continue to see around 30 minutes per game most nights off the bench, so owners should continue to roll with Green as a viable start in most formats, while he is trending upwards.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green continued his recent shooting woes on Tuesday night against the Bobcats. He scored 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting in the 100-74 loss. Green also went 6 for 8 from the foul line while playing 30 minutes. Green posted three rebounds, an assist and a steal in the defeat.
Analysis: Green has been inconsistent with his secondary stats of late but continues to score at a decent clip. He entered Tuesday averaging 11.7 points on 39 percent shooting in the previous seven contests while putting up 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists during that stretch. The 26-year-old can be a solid option in Fantasy when playing well but leave Green for deeper formats at this point.

Green, who banged his elbow during Boston's win over the Warriors last Friday, finished with 16 points in the 109-101 win. He went 4 of 8 from the field, including connecting on his lone 3-point attempt, and also added five assists, four rebounds and one steal to his stat line, while logging 28 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Green continues to play well for the Celtics as he has really stepped up his production over the past few weeks. The 26-year-old entered Tuesday's tilt averaging 16.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks over his previous 10 games on 51.8 percent shooting. Fantasy owners should take advantage and get Green active in the majority of formats, while he continues to trend upwards.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green bounced back from an increasingly rare poor performance Friday against the Warriors, as he scored 18 points off the bench. Green shot 8 of 13 from the field and added five rebounds, two assists and three blocks over 27 minutes, in a 94-86. Green took a hard fall in the second half, but still managed to score 14 of his 18 after half time.
Analysis: The month of February was one of Greens best in years, as he averaged 15.3 points and 1.7 blocks per game in 31.3 minutes. He has been asked to take on a bigger role for the Celtics since Rajon Rondos injury, and he is doing a great job in his role. Green is leaving up to expectations recently, and he should be able to keep it up moving forward. At this point, Green should be owned in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green had his best game of the season Friday against the Suns, in his first start. Green thoroughly dominated Phoenix, scoring 31 points on 11 of 14 shooting, while snagging a game-high seven rebounds in 39 minutes. He added three three-pointers, a team-high four assists, as well as two steals and five blocks, in a 113-88 win.

He is averaging 18.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game over the last 10. The Celtics are leaning on Green right now, so Fantasy owners would do well to follow suit. He has emerged as a solid Fantasy option in all formats in the second half of the season.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green was able to get the unofficial start of the second half of the season off on the right foot during Tuesday's contest against the Nuggets. Green poured in a team-high 20 points in the 97-90 win on 8 of 12 shooting from the field. He made two of his four 3-point attempts and also added two assists, two blocks two rebounds and one steal to his stat line, while logging 33 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Green is finally starting to perform the way most thought he would when he first came into league as a No. 5 pick back in 2007. He has been asked to pick up some of the scoring load with all the injuries the Celtics have had to deal with as he is putting up 14.7 points 52 percent shooting from the field over his last 11 games to go along with 3.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocks. Fantasy owners should feel free to get Green active in the majority of formats while he is consistently getting his numbers.
News: Celtics guard Jeff Green turned in another solid stat line during Monday's contest against the Bobcats. Green finished with 19 points in the 97-94 defeat -- which was his third straight game scoring in double figures. He made five of his eight field-goal attempts and also added four rebounds, one assist and one block to his stat line, while logging 24 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Green has been asked to take on a larger role with all the injuries that have hit the Celtics over the past few weeks and the 26-year-old has proved to be up for the challenge thus far. In fact, Green has scored in double figures in eight of his last nine games and is averaging 14.8 points on 53 percent shooting from the field. He is also giving owners 3.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 blocks per game over that stretch and is finally starting to perform the way most thought he would when he landed in Boston. Fantasy owners should take advantage of Green's recent spike in production and get him active while he is playing well.

Green went 6 of 13 shooting from the field, including 1 of 1 from beyond the arc, and 3 of 3 from the free throw line. He finished with 19 points and three rebounds in a 116-95 victory. He also chipped in with an assist and a blocked shot while logging 29 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Green continues to pick up the slack for the Celtics since the Rajon Rondo injury. In fact, he has scored in double figures in six of the last seven games. He is averaging 14.0 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 51 percent from the field over that span. At this point, the 26-year-old does not contribute much in other categories but should be considered as a quality reserve option in deeper formats while he continues to play well.
News: Boston power forward Jeff Green had another solid performance off the bench on Sunday in a game against the Clippers. Green has provided a nice boost for the Celtics, especially since Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger got injured. Green played 23 minutes and was 4 of 6 from the field, including 3 for 3 from downtown to score 14 points. He added two rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots.
Analysis: Green has been and will continue to be asked to step up his game with Rondo and especially Sullinger injured for the rest of the season. He's been shooting the ball from deep really effectively and he's been scoring and rebounding pretty well as well of late. The Celtics are still playing solid basketball and Green should be a difference maker down the stretch. He can be active in plenty of deeper Fantasy formats.
News: With the news that point guard Rajon Rondo is likely done for the season with a torn ACL, the Celtics went out and beat the Heat on Sunday. Boston was able to win in double overtime behind a solid effort from forward Jeff Green off the bench. Green played 42 minutes in the game and contributed 11 points on 4 of 8 shooting. He was 1 for 3 from 3-point range and added four rebounds and a blocked shot.
Analysis: Green has scored in double figures in three of his last five games and is going to need to continue to score more with Rondo done. He's averaging 11.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and a 3-pointer per game over his last five. If he keeps that up going forward, Fantasy owners may want to take notice in deeper formats.
News: After scoring a combined six points over the last two games, Celtics forward Jeff Green was able to get back on track Sunday against the Pistons. He finished with 15 points and hauled in two rebounds in the 103-88 loss. He went 4 for 9 from the floor, including 1 for 4 from downtown, and made 6 of 9 free throws. Green also posted two assists, a steal and a block while playing 30 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Green has been inconsistent with his shot so far this season but showed on Friday that he has what it takes to be a viable option in Fantasy. Still, he is averaging just 8.2 points with 2.8 rebounds in the previous five contests. The 26-year-old is also shooting 30 percent from beyond the arc and 44 percent overall during that stretch. Continue to view Green as more of an option for deeper Fantasy formats at this point.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green turned in another underwhelming performance during Wednesday's contest against the Hornets. Green finished with just four points in the 90-78 defeat on 2 of 4 shooting from the field. He missed on his lone attempt from downtown and also added five rebounds and two blocks to his stat line while logging 25 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Green continues to disappoint the Celtics and Fantasy owners as he just can't seem to sustain any long stretches of productivity. The 26-year-old has failed to score in two of his last three contests, but poured in a combined 30 points during a two-game stretch against the Knicks and Suns in the beginning of Fantasy Week 11 (Jan. 7-13). While Green may light up the scoreboard from time to time, Fantasy owners should consider him merely a low-end option in deeper formats until he shows he can get his numbers on a nightly basis.
News: Boston got a nice performance out of Jeff Green on Monday in a win at New York. Green helped take down the Knicks with 16 bench points as he shot 5 of 10 from the field over 27 minutes. He went 1 for 1 from beyond the arc and added six rebounds and three assists for the Celtics in the win.
Analysis: Green has hit four 3-pointers in his last five games and averages a little over half a three per game on the year. He doesn't average double figures in scoring is basically a low-end producer across the gamut of Fantasy statistics.
News: After scoring 16 points his last time out, Celtics forward Jeff Green stayed productive during Wednesday's contest against the Grizzlies. Green didn't shoot the ball often, but scored 10 points on 4 of 5 shooting, including 2 of 3 from downtown in a 93-83 defeat. He also chipped in with two rebounds, an assist, a steal and a blocked shot while logging 15 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Green turned in a productive performance considering he only played for 15 minutes. He has turned in double figure scoring in 10 of the last 16 games as he continues to provide a spark off the bench for Boston. He is averaging 11.8 points and 3.8 rebounds over that 16-game stretch and should be viewed as a quality reserve option in deeper formats for now.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green remained in the lineup and netted 15 points during Boston's 93-76 rout of Brooklyn on Tuesday. Green left last Friday's game against Milwaukee after taking an elbow to the face, but was able to practice Sunday before suiting up against the Nets. He connected on 5 of his 8 attempts from the field for his best shooting clip since Dec. 1 (62.5 percent). Green added three rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Green showed no problems moving around the court as the additional rest in between games helped and he logged 28 minutes of playing time for the second straight game. He shook off a three-game stretch shooting below 50 percent from the field to regain his stance as a key member of the Celtics bench. Fantasy owners should consider him a quality reserve option in deeper formats when he's active.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green was forced to leave Boston's overtime loss to the Bucks in the overtime period after taking an elbow to the face from Ersan Ilyasova. Green immediately went down to the ground and had to be helped off the floor with the assistance of team trainers. After the game, the team announced Green had been diagnosed with a bruised left cheek and several chipped teeth. He is being considered day to day.
Analysis: Green's injury looked a lot worse than it ended up being as it turns out as he essentially chipped some teeth and has a bruise on his face. The good news for Green is the Celtics are off until Tuesday, so he has a few days to rest up before trying to play again. However, owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward just to make sure. Green has been wildly inconsistent with the Celtics this season and should only be active in deeper formats when healthy.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored in double figures for the fifth time in the last six games on Wednesday night against the Mavericks. He finished with 15 points in 27 minutes off the bench in the 117-115 overtime win. He went 5 for 16 from the floor, including 1 for 4 from downtown, and converted all four of his free throws. Green also posted five rebounds in the victory.
Analysis: Green has been making progress for the Celtics of late and is averaging 15.2 points with 4.6 rebounds in the previous five games. He is also shooting 50 percent from both the field and downtown over that span. The 26-year-old provides Boston with some youth off the bench so keep an eye on his progress and consider adding Green in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green had a solid showing on Wednesday against the Timberwolves, however it paled in comparison to his two previous outings. After scoring 37 points combined in his previous two games, Green put up eight points in 23 minutes in a 104-94 win. He shot 4 of 9 from the field, missing his lone attempt from three-point range. Green added four rebounds and two assists in the game.
Analysis: The Celtics talked up Greens breakout potential this season, but he has so far failed to live up to the hype. Some rust is to be expected after he missed all of last season, but expectations were also raised by the $36 million contract he signed. So far, Green has pretty much replicated his performance from his first stint in Boston, averaging 8.9 points per game on 43.4 percent from the field. He has also contributed just 2.7 rebounds per game, a pitiful number for a forward even in a limited role. At this point, Fantasy owners should leave Green on waivers in the majority of formats.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green continued his struggles during Wednesday's contest against the Nets. Green was held in check and scored just two points in a 95-83 defeat. He went 1 of 3 shooting from the field, including 0 for 1 from downtown. He also chipped in with a block in just 16 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Green has been extremely inconsistent this season and has been held in single-digit scoring in six of the last seven games and is shooting 36 percent (17 of 47) over that span. There were some that were hoping for a bounceback season from Green, but that has not come to fruition. He is considered as just a low-end Fantasy option in most formats, at this point.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green followed up four games in a row of single-digit scoring by putting up his best output of the season Friday against the Thunder. Green scored a season-high 17 points in 25 minutes, on 6 of 11 shooting. He added a pair of rebounds, one block, and one steal, while turning the ball over twice in a 108-100 win. He went 5 for 5 from the free-throw line.
Analysis: There were some that were hoping for a bounceback season from Green, but that has not come to fruition. He is averaging just 8.6 points per game on 44.1 percent shooting from the field. Green sporadically shows tantalizing ability, but it comes out too infrequently these days. He remains just a low-end Fantasy option in most formats.
News: Boston power forward Jeff Green scored in double figures for the just the second time in his last five games on Wednesday in a win over Utah. Green scored 16 points on 5 of 9 shooting over 27 minutes. He grabbed four rebounds for the Celtics and added two assists in the winning effort.
Analysis: Green continues to be an underwhelming Fantasy option as he is scoring well under 10 points per game this season with limited other production. Green is getting just over 20 minutes per night and that apparently isn't enough for Fantasy owners to get a lot of value out of him. Green should only be active in the deepest Fantasy leagues.
News: Celtics power forward Jeff Green enjoyed a decent night off the bench against the Bucks Saturday night. Green was the top scorer off the bench for the Celtics and finished with 12 points and three rebounds in a 96-92 victory. He shot 3 of 8 from the floor and missed his only three-point attempt while converting 6 of 8 free throws. He also chipped in with two blocks and an assist in 25 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Though expectation were high coming off preseason, Green has only scored in double figures in three of his first six games as he has been a bit effective off the bench for the Celtics thus far. As long as he keep getting to the free-throw line like he did on Saturday, he can be a worthwhile contributor in Fantasy. For now, he's just a viable low-end option in deeper formats.
News: Boston power forward Jeff Green played well off the bench in Friday's loss to the Bucks. Green got 27 minutes and hit on 5 of 9 from the field including a 3-pointer to score 11 points. He grabbed one rebound and added two steals and a block.
Analysis: Green only scored three points in the season opener over 23 minutes and was much more effective Friday. That said, he still doesn't look like a viable Fantasy option in anything but the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green has been impressing his teammates and coaches during the preseason. After missing all of last year due to an aortic aneurysm which required surgery, Green led the Celtics in scoring this preseason, averaging 13.9 points per game and has been much more assertive in his second go-around in Boston. Hes comfortable here now, coach Doc Rivers added. I think last year, even though he didnt play, it probably did a world of good for him just being around the guys, and they accepted him. I think all that helped him. And hes got a chance to be just terrific.
Analysis: After what Green has been through over the last year, it is hard not to root for him this upcoming season. However, based on the early reports out of Boston, Green may not only be back, but he appears ready to start performing like most thought he would when he was taken with the No. 5 overall back in 2007. He has showed no ill-effects from his heart condition and is expected to see a healthy 25-20 minutes per game most nights, despite being tabbed as Paul Pierce's backup. Fantasy owners should consider Green a viable low-end option with some upside heading into the 2012-13 campaign.
News: After more than a month of speculation, the Celtics finally agreed Aug. 23 to terms on a four-year deal with free agent forward Jeff Green, worth a reported $36 million. Green missed all of the 2011-12 season with a heart condition that required surgery, but he is expected to be fully recovered by the time the season begins.
Analysis: Green was once a strong Fantasy option, when he was the second option in a fast-paced Oklahoma City offense. Bostons offense is not quite adept at running, so Green will probably find opportunities limited, especially since he is not expected to start. Green gives the Celtics additional flexibility, as he can swing between both forward spots, but for Fantasy owners, he does not do enough to be a worthwhile contributor. Green is more of a reserve Fantasy option on Draft Day, especially given his injury history.
News: The Sporting News reported last week that Celtics forward Jeff Green, an impending restricted free agent, hopes to return to Boston next season, after missing the 2011-12 season after undergoing surgery on his heart.
Analysis: Green, 25, averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds last season after joining the Celtics in a trade that sent Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City. It's encouraging he Green should be able to compete next year, however there is so much uncertainty surrounding his health as well as where he will be playing that he should be avoided in most Fantasy leagues on Draft Day.
News: Boston PF Jeff Green, out for the season, underwent successful surgery on Monday to repair an aortic aneurysm, reports ESPN.com. The Celtics confirmed that the surgery was successful. If all goes well in his recovery, Green is shooting for a return to an NBA court by next season. He will be a free agent after this current season.
Analysis: Green, 25, averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds last season after joining the Celtics in a trade that sent Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City. It's encouraging he Green should be able to compete next year, but he should remain untouched in Fantasy drafts for 2011-12.
News: Boston F Jeff Green will have surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm and will miss the entire season, the team announced on Saturday. Green is scheduled for an operation on Monday at the Cleveland Clinic. Doctors have told him the operation should completely repair Greens condition and that he can expect to resume his NBA career next season, the Celtics said in a news release. Green posted on his Twitter account on Saturday: Thank u everyone for ur thoughts and prayers much appreciated love u all..and Ill be back soon stronger and better than ever I promise.
Analysis: The timing of his training camp physical -- and the end of the NBA lockout -- may have saved Greens life and helped the Celtics avert a tragedy like the 1993 death of Reggie Lewis, who dropped dead on a practice court of a heart condition in the prime of his career. While we are saddened that Jeff will not be able to play this season, the most important thing is his health, Boston president Danny Ainge said. Green, 25, averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds last season after joining the Celtics in a trade that sent Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City. It's encouraging he Green should be able to compete next year, but he should remain untouched in Fantasy drafts for 2011-12.
News: The Boston Globe reports Monday that PF Jeff Green was unable to practice and is dealing with an undisclosed medical issue. Green has missed four straight practice sessions and could miss some time going forward. He is undergoing further tests. "We anticipate he'll be here soon, practicing," president Danny Ainge said. "I don't think very long. He's just going through the tests again, today, tomorrow and we should have them and he should be fine."
Analysis: Ainge made sure to reiterate that Green's newly-inked one-year deal is not going to be affected by this injury, whatever the problem may be. "Oh no, no, no, we're not even close to that," Ainge appeased. "It's just precautionary, practice just started today officially when we have our whole team here. It will be resolved this week." Green averaged just 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 24 minutes with the Celtics last season and is worth drafting in the later rounds in most formats on Draft Day.
News: The Celtics signed PF Jeff Green to a one-year contract on Friday. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Analysis: Green was hoping to sign a multi-year deal with the Celtics, but the team only offered him a year. It looks as if Boston could dangle him as trade bait in the coming months, but he will at least start the season in Boston. Green averaged just 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 24 minutes with the Celtics last season and is worth drafting in the later rounds in most formats on Draft Day.
News: Free agent PF Jeff Green wants to remain with the Boston Celtics, reports the Boston Globe. Green would love to sign a multiyear deal with Boston. His other options include working out a sign-and-trade deal or accepting a qualifying offer from Boston and waiting to become a free agent next summer. Jeff has a desire to be in Boston," Green's representative David Falk said. Boston has a need. I hope Danny [Ainge] and I can come up with a creative way to reach an agreement."
Analysis: Boston extended a $6 million qualifying offer to Green just before the lockout began. He can still take that. At this point it appears that Green will come back to the Celtics this season, though Fantasy owners should still pay attention to the situation. Green had an inconsistent year in 2010-11 due to the trade from Oklahoma City. In 49 games with the Thunder he averaged 15.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists while averaging 37 minutes per game. Following the trade to the Celtics, Green averaged just 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 24 minutes per game off the bench. We hope he can improve this year, and he should be considered a No. 4 Fantasy option heading into 2011-12.
News: The Celtics have made a qualifying offer to forward Jeff Green, making him a restricted free agent. Green averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds with the Celtics last season after coming to Boston in the trade that sent Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City.
Analysis: Green had an inconsistent year in 2010-11 due to the trade from Oklahoma City. We hope he can improve with a full offseason in Boston's system, and he should be considered a No. 4 Fantasy option heading into 2011-12.
News: The Boston Globe reports that Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said on a local radio show that if Jeff Green returns as a free agent in 2011-12 that there's a chance he could start and Paul Pierce could go to the bench. "Maybe theres a change of roles," Ainge said. "Maybe Paul comes off the bench, cuts down on his minutes. Maybe we find a way to get Jeff more minutes. His role will expand if hes back here next year. Theres no question about that ... It wouldnt totally shock me if theres a change in the starting lineup, but thats just way too tough to tell." Ainge said he intends to extend Green a qualifying offer before the July 30 deadline.
Analysis: We expect Green to return to the Celtics, and we also expect him to remain in a reserve role behind Pierce and Kevin Garnett. We hope he can improve with a full offseason in Boston's system, and he should be considered a No. 4 Fantasy option heading into 2011-12 unless, as Ainge said, he's moved into the starting lineup.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green said Wednesday after Boston was eliminated from playoff contention by Miami in the Eastern Conference semifinals that he would like to return to the team next season. Green is a restricted free agent this offseason. Its a great place, Green said in an interview with CBSSports.com. Its a dream to play with guys I looked up to growing up and to have had this opportunity was fun. Green joined the Celtics via a trade with Oklahoma City for Kendrick Perkins and acknowledged some of his biggest challenges joining a team so late involved picking up a new system. He said he has not talked with team president Danny Ainge, but he would like to return to Boston.
Analysis: Green had an inconsistent year in 2010-11 due to the trade. Teammate Rajon Rondo said Green is one of the best young and up-and-coming power forwards in the NBA, and the Celtics will look to hold onto him after trading Perkins. We hope he can improve with a full offseason in Boston's system, and he should be considered a No. 4 Fantasy option heading into 2011-12. He is worth drafting with a mid- to late-round pick since he will continue to come off the bench behind Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.
News: Boston forward Jeff Green scored nine points and grabbed two rebounds in the Celtics' 85-82 win over Minnesota on Sunday. Green, who came over from Oklahoma City at the NBA trade deadline in late February, connected on 4 of 5 attempts from the field, including his lone 3-point attempt. He has now knocked down 4 of his last 5 shots from beyond the arc to improve his 3-point percentage with Boston to 41.2 percent.
Analysis: As expected, Green's production has decreased immensely since he joined the Celtics as he finished in single digits for the third time in his last four games. The Georgetown product had only eight such occasions total while with the Thunder as he is not receiving the same amount of minutes while being utilized as a reserve with Boston. It's hard to trust him in the Fantasy playoffs and he should remain an option in deeper leagues.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green was the first player off the bench for Boston on Wednesday and he got 23 minutes of court time. But one of the newest members of the Celtics didn't do much with his playing time. He shot 2 for 6 from the field -- going 1 for 3 from downtown -- finishing with six points. He chipped in one rebound, one assist and one steal. Boston would go on to lose the game, 108-103, to Los Angeles.
Analysis: Green is getting plenty of playing time with Boston, but he can't seem to get into a groove. Over his last five outings he's averaging 9.8 points and 1.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 54.1 percent from the floor. The Celtics will continue to ride Green's younger legs down the stretch, buying some minutes for the veterans on the frontcourt. But he'll have to start producing if he expects to keep his role. Coming off the bench has hurt Green's Fantasy value, as he is now just a low-end forward option in the majority of leagues.
News: Celtics forward Jeff Green struggled early off the bench in his first game with Boston, finishing with seven points, one block and one rebound in 18 minutes. Coach Doc Rivers intends to use Green early as Paul Pierce's backup. "Hes extremely talented," Rivers said prior to the game. "He can play the 3. He can play the 4. He can handle the ball more than you would have seen our 4s do. We want him to handle the ball and run the show at times. Hes going to help us a lot." Boston would go on to beat Los Angeles, 99-92, on Saturday night.
Analysis: Green will be a big part of Boston's bench, but his minutes will likely be cut in half from what he was used to in Oklahoma City. Green was averaging 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds on the season in a starting role for the Thunder, so Fantasy owners should expect those numbers to decrease as he's now the sixth man. He could spell the veterans more as he adjusts to the team and the season moves on, keeping Pierce and Kevin Garnett fresh for the playoffs. Consider Green a low-end forward option in most formats as he takes on his new role.
News: The Boston Globe reports newly acquired Celtics forward Jeff Green will make his debut with the club in Saturday's game against the Clippers. After participating in practice earlier in the day, coach Doc Rivers laid out a plan for the versatile 24-year-old. "Hes extremely talented," Rivers said. "He can play the 3. He can play the 4. He can handle the ball more than you would have seen our 4s do. We want him to handle the ball and run the show at times. Hes going to help us a lot." Green is expected to come off of the bench initially to spell starter Paul Pierce. "Im going to just play my game," Green said. "Run the floor, play defense, be a communicator, just try to do the best I can to help this team out."
Analysis: We expected Green to have a significant role off of the bench with the Celtics, but the fact that he is in the plans to handle the ball and "run the show at times" is great news for Fantasy owners. While his minutes will likely be cut a bit with Boston, he might be able to create more plays for himself and his teammates than he was able to do in Oklahoma City on the floor with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Green is averaging 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds on the season in a starting role, so expectations should be tempered now that he is a sixth-man. Still, Green is a viable Fantasy option in most formats.
News: According to multiple reports, Boston has agreed to send center Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City for a package that includes forward Jeff Green. Also included in the trade are Nenad Krstic coming to the Celtics and Nate Robinson going to the Thunder. Green will now come off the bench for the Celtics as a backup power and small forward.
Analysis: Green loses Fantasy value in this trade since he will likely play behind Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. He was considered the third piece for the Thunder behind Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, but his stats will definitely take a hit going to Boston. Green is averaging 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds on the season, but those numbers will now be on the decline following the trade.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green paced his team with 22 points on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles. Green shot 58.3 percent from the field -- going 7 for 12 -- and nailed all seven of his foul shots. Green chipped in four rebounds, a steal and an assist in his 28 minutes on the court. The Thunder would go on to beat the Clippers, 111-88, behind Green's strong showing.
Analysis: Green has the potential to lead his team in scoring and is a legit No. 3 option for the Thunder behind Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Unfortunately he can go from a solid outing like he had on Tuesday, to a night where he'll struggle to find the rim. Overall his numbers are good, but there are times Green just has a poor Fantasy week. In his last 10 games, Green is averaging 15.8 points, 6.1 boards and 1.5 assists. He's also shooting 50.0 percent from the floor over that span. Fantasy owners should continue to view Green as a low-end starting forward in most leagues as the season continues.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green has been shooting the ball better lately and continued to do so on Sunday night against the Warriors. He scored 12 points on 3 of 6 shooting in the 100-94 loss. He went 1 for 2 from downtown and converted 5 of 6 free throws while playing 28 minutes. Green also had five rebounds and two assists in the defeat. He is shooting 50 percent from the field in his last five games.
Analysis: Green continues to be one of the more consistent Fantasy options out there as he is putting up similar numbers to what he posted a year ago. He is averaging 15 points with 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists over his last five contests, with two 20-point performances sprinkled in there. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are the unquestioned scorers on Oklahoma City but Green has the ability to fill up the stat sheet on a nightly basis. With Sacramento on the schedule for Week 17 (Feb. 14-20), continue to roll with Green in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News: After some spotty scoring nights in mid-January, Thunder forward Jeff Green has picked up the pace in the last two weeks. In Friday's win over the Suns, he scored 28 points on solid 10 of 17 shooting, good for his second-best scoring game of the year. Green shot 3 of 5 from beyond the arc and made all five of his free-throw attempts. He added five rebounds and two assists during his 43 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Green squared-off with Vince Carter for most of the night, even trading three-pointers at one point. In the end, Carter won the scoring battle 33-28, but Green's squad won the game 111-107. He is scoring well, reaching at least 23 points in two of the last three games after failing to do so in the previous 20 outings. When his shot is on, the Thunder are nearly unstoppable offensively. Green as elevated his game, and Fantasy owners should take full advantage in the short term. Start him in all formats moving forward.
News: For the second consecutive game, Jeff Green managed a double-double on Sunday against the Heat. He scored 23 points with 11 rebounds in 44 minutes, going 10 of 21 from the field. The 21 shot attempts were his highest total since Dec. 1 at New Jersey when he played 54 minutes in a triple-overtime game.
Analysis: Green had attempted just eight shots in his previous game and is averaging just 12.2 shot attempts per game in January. However, he has now scored 19 or more points in three of his last four games and is averaging 18.5 points with 9.5 rebounds over that span. He has this type of upside and looks to surging again after a bit of a lull earlier this month. Now seems like a great time to get him active again if he had been reserved.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green entered Monday's game against the Hornets having his lowest scoring month since February of 2008, reports the Oklahoman. Green looked more aggressive in Monday's game, however, as he went 8 for 13 from the field to score 19 points, the most he'd put up since dropping 19 on Dec. 19 against the Suns. We're winning some games, and Jeff is doing a good job, said Thunder coach Scott Brooks. Would I like him to play better? Absolutely. He has to be aggressive, and that is slowly picking up. I thought he had a couple of games where it wasn't the case. But we're fortunate enough that we have a good team with a lot that can chip in and help us win games. We're not based on one guy having a monster game.
Analysis: Green is still averaging just 11 points per game over his last five and he needs to start scoring more consistently. We're ecstatic that he looked for his shot on Monday, but Green can't go back to sitting idly by as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook does all the work. He's still worth using in most Fantasy formats, but Green could be so much more for Fantasy owners.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green recorded 11 points and five rebounds in the Thunder's 112-107 loss at Denver on Wednesday night. Green finished 5 of 12 from the field, including 1 of 3 from 3-point range, to convert more than 40 percent of his shots for the first time in his last three games. Green contributed two assists in 31 minutes but committed five fouls for the second consecutive game.
Analysis: Green has struggled with fouls recently and has now totaled 21 in his last five games. He is averaging 37.4 minutes per game this season but has hot that total just once in his last four games because of the foul trouble. When he's on the court, Green is a viable Fantasy option and is averaging 15.1 points per game. Consider him a mid-range Fantasy option in most formats but watch his progress in games.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green scored 16 points to help the Thunder claim a 118-112 victory over Houston on Wednesday night. Green drained 7 of 15 shots, including 2 of 5 from beyond the 3-point arc, to reach double figures for the third straight game. Green, who played 28 minutes, was held without a rebound for the second time in his last four games.
Analysis: Green has been extremely inconsistent this season and is averaging just 12.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in his last five games. He remains in the starting lineup and is averaging nearly 38 points per game due to Oklahoma City's limited options at power forward. Wednesday also marked the third time this season Green has tallied at least two 3-pointers in back-to-back games but his average is still underwhelming (27.1 percent). Consider a mid-range Fantasy option in most formats.
News: Thunder forward Jeff Green had not scored more than 15 points in the eight games leading up to Thursday's game against the Mavericks. Not only did he break out of the slump with 16 points on 7 of 17 shooting, but he also pulled down nine rebounds -- the most since December 17. Green helped Oklahoma City storm back against Dallas with a pair of assists and steals in the 99-95 win.
Analysis: Green started off the season at a blistering pace, but he has not found rhythm in recent weeks. Thursday was a nice change-of-pace that Green's Fantasy owners would appreciate. He continues to play around 40 minutes night-in, night-out, so the opportunity to sustain his improved play is there. With a tough stretch of games coming up in Week 12 though (just two games -- against Houston and Orlando), Green remains a low-end Fantasy starting option moving forward.
News: Thunder forward Jeff Green struggled with his shot in Saturday's 101-74 loss to the Spurs. On a night were Oklahoma City shot a season-low 32.9 percent from the field, Green finished with seven points on 2 of 9 shooting. He missed both of his 3-point attempts in the defeat and finished with seven rebounds, three steals and a block in the contest.
Analysis: Green has been going through a mini scoring slump of late, as he has scored a combined 26 points over his last three contests. Still, he is averaging a career best 16 points a game and has been seeing around 38 minutes a contest. He should be able to play his out of this funk he is in and can be considered a No. 4 Fantasy forward heading into Fantasy Week 11 (Jan. 3-11). The Thunder play the Grizzlies twice and the Mavericks in the upcoming scoring period.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green can't seem to get on track. Over his last five games he's averaging 11.8 points -- a mark he didn't hit on Wednesday against New Jersey. Green shot 50 percent from the field, going 1 for 4 from downtown, and missing his only foul shot. He finished with nine points, three boards and five assists. Green added a steal in his 34 minutes of court time.
Analysis: Green is averaging 16.6 points per game this season, but can't seem to get to that mark recently. He's shooting 36 percent from the field over his last five outings and just 15.7 percent (3 for 19) from downtown.Throw in his 4.2 boards and 3.4 assists per game, and Green's Fantasy value is not high. He's normally worth using as a high-end Fantasy forward, but right now he's performing more like a low-end option.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green struggled on Tuesday in a win over the Charlotte Bobcats. Green did not shoot well as he went just 4 for 13 from the field and 1 for 5 from long range to score 12 points. Green, who had just put up 19 points in his previous game two nights ago against Phoenix, added five assists, three rebounds and did little else worth mentioning over 42 minutes on the floor.
Analysis: Green is so inconsistent it hurts. He's averaging 16.4 points per game over his last five, but has had at least 19 points in three of those games. The good news is he continues to bring Fantasy owners over five rebounds and a couple assists per game and hits his customary 3-pointer. He's also solid at stealing the basketball. We know he could be so much more than he is right now, but Fantasy owners can continue starting him in most formats anyway.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green, who had 21 points, four rebounds and five assists against the Rockets on Wednesday, has played in 13 straight games after missing seven of eight with an ankle injury. Green more or less confirmed that it's fully healed, according to the Oklahoman. I dont know, Green said. But its been feeling great these past couple of games. I havent even been thinking about it so thats a plus.
Analysis: Green is averaging 17.6 points per game, which would be a career high if the season ended today. He's not really a plus contributor in any other category, but he's adequate in several, including rebounds, 3-pointers and steals. Continue to start him as a No. 2 Fantasy forward.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green scored the first six points in an 8-0 run to finish the third quarter for the Thunder while Kevin Durant sat on the bench. "We just had to make a run," Green said. "We knew our guy was out and we just had to pull it together." Green scored 21 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out five dimes in Oklahoma City's 117-105 win over Houston on Wednesday. He shot 50 percent from the field -- hitting 2 of his 4 3-pointers -- and nailed all seven of his foul shots. "The shots are just falling for us," Green said. "We're getting great open looks."
Analysis: Green has scored in double figures for four straight games now and is averaging 14.0 points over his last five outings. He's also dishing out 1.6 assists and hauling in 5.6 boards over that span. He's a big part of Oklahoma City's success as he plays the secondary role to Durant. Fantasy owners should view Green as a nice No. 2 forward option in all formats.
News:The Oklahoman reports that Thunder coach Scott Brooks benched Kevin Durant and Jeff Green less than three minutes into the second half of Monday's game in Chicago because Brooks thought the team was not playing well. Green finished the game with just seven points, shooting a putrid 1 of 9 from the field. He added six rebounds in 34 minutes.
Analysis: Green has played well for the most part this season, but Brooks was trying to make a point to two of his star players. He is averaging 18.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists over his last five games while averaging over 40 minutes per contest. He remains a solid Fantasy play in all formats, barring a continued funk. We do not anticipate that.
News: Oklahoma City PF Jeff Green had a horrendous game in a loss at Chicago on Monday night. Green, who had scored at least 17 points in his previous three games including dropping 37 on the Nets on Dec. 1, managed just seven points on 1 of 9 shooting over 34 minutes against the Bulls. He went 0 for 4 from long range for the second consecutive game and added six rebounds and two steals.
Analysis: Green scored 13 points on Nov. 29 on 4 of 14 shooting and dropped 37 just a few days later on 12 of 21 from the field. He continues to be inconsistent. The Thunder could be scary good when Green finds his rhythm. Green continues to average around 18-20 points per game with 6-8 rebounds. As long as that continues, he's worth using in all Fantasy leagues. Just be wary of the occasional stinker as he put up Monday.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green looked to be more than healthy in Wednesday's triple-overtime game in New Jersey. He shot 12 of 21 in 54 minutes of action, scoring 37 points. He added five rebounds and four assists. Green is averaging 19.4 points and 7.0 rebounds over his last five games.
Analysis: Green was hurt in Friday's game in Indiana. He did not practice on Friday, but has been able to play big minutes in each of his last three games and appears to be just fine. He put up inflated numbers on Wednesday due to the three overtime sessions and the fact Kevin Durant was out due to injury, but Green remains capable of putting up around 15-17 points with around seven boards per game on a regular basis. He is a great play in any league.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green (ankle) was cleared to play in Sunday night's game at Houston. He had been considered a game-time decision after he was hurt in Friday's game in Indiana. He did not practice on Friday.
Analysis: Green has missed seven total games this season because of the ankle sprain. He was held out on Saturday in practice in order to rehab the injury. Fantasy owners may have a tough decision to make for Week 6 (Nov. 29-Dec. 5), but the Thunder do play a full four-game schedule. Consider him a mild injury risk and monitor him for setbacks, but when healthy Green has emerged as a strong No. 2 forward option in Fantasy and should be activated in most leagues.
News:The Oklahoman reports that Thunder F Jeff Green (ankle) did not practice on Sunday. Green re-injured his left ankle on Friday night in Indiana. He is considered questionable for Sunday night's game in Houston. He was feeling pretty good (Saturday), said Thunder coach Scott Brooks. It's day-to-day. We'll see how he feels (Sunday) and then make the decision.
2 forward option in Fantasy.
News: Thunder forward Jeff Green (ankle) could miss Sunday's game in Houston, reports the Oklahoman on Saturday. Green was "limping around out there like Willis Reed" on Friday. Still, Green played and recorded his first double-double of the season against the Pacers.
Analysis: Green is averaging 18.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game over his last three and is playing at a high level. Sitting out due to his ankle injury would be unfortunate. That said, he played through the pain Friday, why would he stop now? Owners must be cognizant of this, however, heading into Week 6 (Nov. 29-Oct. 5). If he can't play Sunday, he's going to be a major injury risk for the upcoming scoring period.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green recorded his first double-double of the season on Friday night against the Pacers. He scored 15 points and hauled in 14 rebounds before fouling out in overtime. Green re-injured his ankle during the 110-106 win, but he was able to shake it off and remain in the game. He went just 4 for 16 from the field but made 1 of 5 shots from downtown and connected on 6 of 8 free throws. Green, who played 47 minutes, also collected four assists in the victory.
Analysis: Green missed some games due to injuries this season so Fantasy owners should keep a close eye on his status over the next few days as he has been very productive when actually on the court. His 18.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game are both a career high but he is shooting a horrid 27 percent from the 3-point line. Still, Fantasy owners cannot argue with his production thus far so continue to view the former Hoya as solid option in all leagues, when healthy, heading into Week 6 (Nov. 29-Dec. 5).
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green looked healthy on Monday against Minnesota. Green had missed seven of the Thunder's previous eight games with a sprained left ankle but returned against the Wolves to score 24 points over 39 minutes. He shot 9 for 16 from the field and 3 for 7 from 3-point range. Green added six rebounds and two steals in the game.
Analysis: Green entered the game averaging 18.2 points per game on the year with 6.5 rebounds. He had hit just four 3-pointers all year, however, and almost doubled that production. Green is healthy again and once again is a must-start Fantasy play.
News:The Oklahoman reports that Jeff Green(ankle) will return to the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Timberwolves. It feels good, said Green about the ankle that caused him to miss seven of the past eight games. I had two good workouts the past two days. So it feels pretty good"
Analysis: Green is averaging 18.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game through six appearances this season. He is, along with Serge Ibaka, the team's only real inside presence and should remain active both on the scoring side of things and on the glass. The Thunder play a very favorable four-game slate in Fantasy Week 5 (Nov. 22-28) and it appears safe to activate him in all leagues again.
News: While there remains no definitive word from the team, The Oklahoman reports that Jeff Green remains "questionable" for Monday's game against Minnesota. Green was inactive for Saturday's contest against the Bucks. He has missed seven of the last eight games for Oklahoma City with a sprained ankle.
Analysis: Green is not listed among the team's "projected starters" for the game. Kevin Durant, who is in a similar situation to that of Green's, is listed as a projected starter. Take that for what it is worth, but it does appear there is still a great deal of risk involved in activating Green for the upcoming weekly scoring period. The Thunder do play four games in Fantasy Week 5 (Nov. 22-28) and two of those games -- the last two, actually -- come against teams that allow 100-plus points per game. Start him at your own risk.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green was inactive for Saturday's contest against the Bucks. He has missed seven of the last eight games for Oklahoma City with a sprained ankle.
Analysis: Green should not be active in any Fantasy lineups at this time. When healthy, Green is a solid No. 2 forward option for the Thunder and Fantasy owners. Until he's healthy, his value is very low. Keep close tabs on him, but as of right now, Green is a risky start for Week 5 (Nov. 22-28). The Thunder play four games during the upcoming scoring period.
News: According to the Oklahoman, Thunder forward Jeff Green was not active for Saturday's contest against the Bucks. He's missed seven of the last eight games for Oklahoma City with a sprained ankle.
22-28). The Thunder play four games in the scoring period.
News: The Oklahoman reports on Saturday that Thunder PF Jeff Green is doubtful to play on Saturday in Milwaukee. Green has not played since scoring 12 points over 26 minutes on Nov. 14 against the Spurs.
Analysis: Green is averaging over 18 points per game this season in six contests with 6.5 rebounds. The Thunder need him to get healthy because he's been excellent when healthy. Green is a solid No. 2 forward option but is also a major injury risk for Week 5 (Nov. 22-28) at this point.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green was not active for Friday's game with Boston as he missed his sixth game in seven contests. He's been missing time with an ankle injury. He remains day to day for the Thunder.
Analysis: Green and the Thunder have been quiet about his injury as they won't give a definite date for his return. His injury is classified as a sprain, but it could be more severe, but we just don't know. For now Fantasy owners should keep him reserved until he's healthy enough to take the court. When he plays, Green is a solid No. 2 forward option. He's averaging 18.2 points and 6.5 boards per game this season.
News: According to the Oklahoman, Thunder PF Jeff Green is out again Friday at Boston because of a sprained left ankle. He has already missed five of the team's last six games with the injury, but coach Scott Brooks told reporters Wednesday night he does not fear the injury is more severe than originally diagnosed.
Analysis: Green will remain day to day since the Thunder refuse to classify this injury as anything worse than a sprain. He's having perhaps the best season of his career, averaging 18.2 points per game, but because he has to compete with Kevin Durant for touches, he's more of a No. 2 Fantasy forward.
News:The Oklahoman reports that Jeff Green's ankle is improving. Green sat out Wednesday night for the fifth time in six games and is listed as "day-to-day" by the team. Thunder coach Scott Brooks told reporters Wednesday night that he does not fear the injury is more severe than originally diagnosed.
Analysis: Green first sprained the ankle on Nov. 6 and then re-injured it when he returned to action last Sunday against San Antonio after missing eight days and three games. On both occasions, Green stepped on someone else's foot. He was wearing a walking boot Tuesday, so he could potentially miss a few more games with this injury. But Fantasy owners will have to continue to view him as day-to-day for the time being. When healthy, he remains a solid No. 2 forward on the rise.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green was out of the Thunder's lineup against the Houston Rockets because of a sprained left ankle. Green sat out Wednesday night for the fifth time in six games. He missed three games before attempting to come back in a loss to San Antonio on Sunday night, and sat again in Oklahoma City's win over Utah on Monday. The Thunder are 3-1 in games Green has missed, with Serge Ibaka taking his place in the starting lineup.
Analysis: Green was wearing a walking boot Tuesday, so he could potentially miss a few more games with this injury. He's officially day to day, but the Thunder will probably want to make sure he's 100 percent healthy before attempting to bring him back again. He's a good scorer and decent rebounder, but he loses looks to Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, making him a No. 2 Fantasy forward.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green, who has missed for of the last five games with a sprained ankle, will miss Wednesday's game against the Rockets as well, according to the Oklahoman.
News: Oklahoma City PF Jeff Green was seen wearing a protective boot on his injured ankle, reports The Oklahoman on Tuesday. Green said the boot is only a precaution, however. "It's something that I don't want to continue to mess with or put more pressure on," Green said before he missed Monday's game. Green is listed as day to day for the Thunder and Serge Ibaka should continue to see a boost with him out.
Analysis: Precaution or not, a walking boot on an injured ankle that has already caused you to miss a total of four games doesn't sound like a good thing. He might be day to day, but Green could miss a few more before this is over. Fantasy owners would do best keeping him benched until he can prove his health. Green is averaging 18.2 points and 6.5 rebounds on the year and can be active in all Fantasy leagues, when healthy.
News: Oklahoma City PF Jeff Green (ankle) missed Monday's game at Utah after he suffered a setback on Sunday night after stepping on a foot, reports The Oklahoman. Green is listed as day to day.
Analysis: Green is not yet over his ankle injury and missed the first game in Week 4 (Nov. 15-21). The Thunder play three more times in the scoring period and Green could see action in all of them. Green last played on Sunday and scored 12 points with three rebounds after missing three games. He's averaging 18.2 points and 6.5 rebounds on the year and can be active in all Fantasy leagues, when healthy.
News: Thunder forward Jeff Green was back in the lineup for Sunday's 117-104 loss to the Spurs. Green, who sat out the previous three games with an ankle injury, played 26 minutes in the loss and scored 12 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the floor. He went 1 of 2 from behind the arc and also chipped in with three rebounds and two dimes. Green did not play in the fourth quarter or final minutes of the third as he soaked his foot in a tub of ice. "It just got a little sore. It's not something I want to try to push through," said Green. "It's still early in the season. If it was the playoffs, yes. I don't want to drive it to the point where I reaggravate it too much and then I'm out longer than I was before. I didn't want to push it too much."
Analysis: Green is not yet over his ankle injury which makes him a risky play heading into Week 4, (Nov.15-21). He has gotten off to a very good start this season and has still put up decent numbers despite losing touches to Kevin Durant and Brian Westbrook. Green will face the Jazz, Rockets, Celtics and Bucks during the upcoming scoring period, but Fantasy owners should start him at their own discretion as his ankle is still bothering him.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green did not play in Friday's game against the Blazers. Coach Scott Brooks said Green is improving and participating more in the Thunder's practices and shootarounds. He is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Spurs.
Analysis: Green is listed as questionable for Sunday's game, but will likely have to be able to practice on Saturday to have a chance for that to happen. He has been productive when in the lineup thus far, averaging 19.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, which would both be career highs. While he does lose touches to Kevin Durant, Green has enough upside to be considered a high-end Fantasy forward, when healthy.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green, who missed Sunday's game with a sprained left ankle, will sit out Wednesday against the 76ers as well, according to the Oklahoman, though he is making progress. "He has improved," coach Scott Brooks said. Serge Ibaka will start in Green's place.
Analysis: Green has a chance of returning Friday against the Trail Blazers, but if you own him in a daily league, you should keep him reserved for now. You have to like what he's done so far this season, though, averaging 19.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, which would both be career highs. He'll always lose touches to superstar Kevin Durant, but he has the upside to develop into a high-end Fantasy forward.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green, who missed Sunday's game after spraining his left ankle in practice the day before, didn't practice Tuesday, according to the Oklahoman, but he hasn't been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the 76ers.
Analysis: Green is off to a great start this season, averaging 19.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, which would both be career highs. He might have trouble maintaining those numbers playing alongside Kevin Durant, but he has the potential to become a high-end Fantasy forward. He's pretty much a must-start when healthy.
News:The Oklahoman reports that Thunder F Jeff Green said on Monday that his availability for Wednesday's game against Philadelphia is still undecided. Green was held out of Sunday's game against Boston after tweaking his ankle in practice on Saturday.
Analysis: Green had been rolling prior to the injury, averaging 19.0 points and 8.0 rebounds over his previous four games. He is on pace for a breakout season, but the injury makes him a risky play in weekly formats for Fantasy Week 3 (Nov. 8-14) due to the lack of a guarantee he will play. He is worth taking a gamble on, but realize that it is indeed a gamble. Serge Ibaka stepped into the starting lineup in his absence.
News: Forward Jeff Green was held out of the Oklahoma City Thunder's lineup Sunday night against the Boston Celtics with a sprained left ankle. Coach Scott Brooks said Green hurt the ankle Saturday in practice and will be day to day. The Thunder's next game is Wednesday night against Philadelphia. Green is Oklahoma City's third-leading scorer with 19.4 points per game and he also averages 7.2 rebounds. He was one of four Thunder players who started all 82 games last season. Serge Ibaka took Green's place in the starting lineup.
Analysis: Green is a durable player, so news of him missing a game is a big deal. The Thunder don't play for a few days and have three games during Week 3 (Nov. 8-14). Green is a key component to the Thunder's success, so he's definitely needed. Fantasy owners should monitor this situation all the way until lineups lock, as he is listed as day to day. When healthy and active, Green is a solid No. 2 Fantasy forward.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green had 19 points and nine rebounds for the Thunder, who lost their second straight game in embarrassing fashion following a 21-point home loss to Utah. The Thunder got beat by the Clippers on Wednesday, 107-92. His 19 points on a 7 for 13 shooting performance was a team high. Green missed both of his 3-point attempts, but connected on all five of his free throws. He dished out one assist and had one steal in his 38 minutes of action.
Analysis: Green doesn't have to be the leader of the Thunder as Kevin Durant has that role. But when Durant struggles like he did on Wednesday, someone needs to step up and that player can be Green. Green can benefit Fantasy owners in all formats, which is why we view him as a No. 2 forward option.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green made a layup with 2.5 seconds left in the game, lifting the Thunder to a 105-104 win over the Pistons on Friday. Green scored 21 points on 7 of 18 shooting and five rebounds in the victory. He went just 1 from 8 from behind the arc, but did chip in with three steals and a block.
Analysis: Green is the third scoring option on the Thunder behind Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, but can still be very efficient. He has a very smooth game, although can be a bit inconsistent at times. He is a decent source for scoring, especially from the 3-point line and should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy forward at this point.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green balanced out the Thunder's trio of young stars in Wednesday's win over the Bulls. Green went 7 for 17 from the field -- 2 for 5 from downtown -- and hit 5 of his 9 foul shots. He chipped in four rebounds, one steal and one block shot to go with his 21 points. Green, along with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook accounted for all but 35 of the Oklahoma City's 106 points.
Analysis: Green is a big part of the Thunder's success as he compliments Westbrook and Durant very well. While he can be inconsistent at times, Green is worth using in all Fantasy formats. He should continue to contribute for the Thunder, as they'll need someone besides Durant to carry the load.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green, who entered the game averaging only 12.0 points in four preseason games, had 27 points and nine rebounds -- both preseason highs -- at San Antonio on Monday. He played 38 minutes, also a preseason high.
Analysis: Green has the ability to score, but because he plays on the same team as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, he can be inconsistent from night to night. He'll hit his share of 3-pointers, making him a viable No. 2 forward in Fantasy, but he's unlikely to improve on the 15 points and six rebounds he contributed per game last year.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green had an impressive preseason debut against Charlotte. He scored a game-high 25 points on 9 of 14 shooting, including 5 for 7 from beyond the arc. Green added four rebounds, an assist and a steal. Green averaged 15.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 82 regular season games last season.
Analysis: Green took on most of the scoring load in a game where Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant played a very limited role. He'll be the third leg of the Thunder tripod this season and has plenty of upside to improve upon his numbers in his fourth NBA season. He'll be a worthy pick as a No. 2 forward, but is more of a No. 3 on a championship caliber team.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green averaged 11.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in a six-game series loss against the Lakers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. He had averaged 15.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 82 regular season games.
Analysis: Green took a slight step back this season as his scoring actually went down by 1.4 points per game. It wasn't quite the breakout season we were hoping for in his third NBA season, but Green is a key part of a prominent young trio developing in Oklahoma City along with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook and will have more room to develop in his fourth season. He'll be a worthy pick as a No. 2 forward, but is more of a No. 3 on a championship caliber team.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green scored 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks Tuesday at Utah. He is averaging 18.2 points and 5.8 rebounds in his past five games.
Analysis: Green continues to play at a high level and should finish the season playing well. The Thunder are trying to secure a higher seed in the Western Conference playoffs, so look for Green to go all out until the end of the regular season. Keep him active in all formats.
News: Oklahoma City F Jeff Green scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win over Minnesota on Sunday. Green shot 6 of 15 from the floor while collecting a block and a steal in 40 minutes. It was his first double-double in his last five games.
Analysis: Green continues to remain consistent with his scoring, averaging 17 points over his last five games. He does a decent job of contributing on the boards, averaging 5.4 over the same span. With six games coming up during Fantasy Week 24 (April 5-14), Green makes for a quality Fantasy option down the final stretch.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green scored 19 points in 36 minutes on Wednesday in a win over Houston. Green shot 8 of 11 from the field and hit three 3-pointers. He added five dimes and five boards with a steal and two blocks.
Analysis: Green is playing at a high level of late with 19.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and almost a steal and block per game with two 3-pointers. He can be utilized favorably in all Fantasy leagues while playing this well.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green had 20 points with six rebounds and three rebounds in Sunday's game at Indiana. He has scored 20-plus points in three of his last five games.
Analysis: Green is averaging 20.6 with 5.4 rebounds over his last five games and is playing at a very high level all around, helping in threes and steals with minimal turnovers. He is a must-start in just about every format right now.
News: Oklahoma City F Jeff Green scored 25 points in a win over the Raptors on Friday. Green, who had injured his finger during practice on Thursday, shot 9 of 19 from the floor while adding four 3's, seven rebounds and a steal. It was the second time in his last five games that he has scored 20 or more points.
Analysis: The finger injury didn't seem to bother Green, who is now averaging 18.6 points over his last five games. As long as he is healthy, Green is a must-start Fantasy option in all formats.
News: According to The Oklahoman, Thunder F Jeff Green sat out a portion of Thursdays practice. He sustained a sprained finger on his non-shooting hand when he reached for the ball and got his finger caught in Serge Ibakas jersey.
Analysis: This does not sound like an issue that will keep Green out of any game action. Continue to keep him active as a low-end No. 2 or high-end No. 3 guard in all standard formats. Green is averaging 16 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals over his last five games.
News: Oklahoma City PF Jeff Green continues to play well of late as he scored 17 points in a loss at Charlotte on Wednesday night. Green shot 7 for 14 from the field and hit the lone 3-pointer he attempted. Green grabbed six boards and dished out three assists with a blocked shot.
Analysis: Green is averaging 16 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.8 steals and a 3-pointer and block per game over his last five contests. Green can continue to score more with James Harden injured and should be thought of as a solid Fantasy play in all formats right now.
News: Oklahoma City F Jeff Green scored 14 points in a win over Utah on Sunday. Green shot 5 of 11 from the floor while obtaining three steals in 35 minutes. He has scored in double figures in his last five contests.
Analysis: Green is averaging 15.4 points and 5.6 rebounds over his last five contests. As long as Green continues to put up double figures on a nightly basis, he makes for a low-end No. 2 Fantasy forward in most formats.
News: Oklahoma City F Jeff Green scored 20 points and matched a career high with four steals in a win over Toronto on Sunday. Green shot 6 of 12 from the field while adding three 3's, three assists, six rebounds and a block. It was the first time in his last five games that he has reached the 20-point mark.
Analysis: Green is the definition of consistent. He is averaging 17 points over his last five contests and has scored in double figures in every game during that span. He also has done a good job on the glass, bringing in 7.2 rebounds. The Thunder play a favorable four game schedule during Fantasy Week 19 (March 1-7) and Green is a must-start Fantasy option.
News: Oklahoma City F Jeff Green scored 17 points and added 14 rebounds to help defeat Minnesota on Sunday. Green shot 8 of 17 in 40 minutes, while adding three steals. This marks back-to-back double-doubles for Green.
Analysis: Green is playing extremely consistent basketball, averaging 17 points over his last five contests while bringing in 7.4 boards. He is currently playing like a No. 2 Fantasy forward and with four games during Fantasy Week 18 (Feb. 22-28), Green is a must-start Fantasy option.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green had 16 points and 11 rebounds in a victory over the Knicks on Saturday. Green shot 6 of 9 from the field while adding two steals in 47 minutes. It was the seventh double-double for Green this season.
Analysis: Green is averaging 16.4 points per game over his last five contests while contributing 5.2 boards and has not failed to reach double figures during that span. His consistent play makes him a solid No. 3 Fantasy option or a low-end No. 2 Fantasy forward. Either way, he should be starting in all leagues.
News: Oklahoma City F Jeff Green has scored in double figures in five straight games for the Thunder. He scored 17 points in a 99-86 victory over Dallas while shooting 6 of 13 from the field and adding six rebounds.
Analysis: Green has averaged 17 points over his last five games while averaging 4.2 rebounds during that period. His consistent play makes him a solid No. 3 Fantasy option or a low-end No. 2 Fantasy forward. Either way, he should be starting in all leagues.
News: Oklahoma City F Jeff Green scored 17 points while adding three rebounds and four steals as the Thunder defeated Portland 89-77 on Tuesday. Green played 43 minutes and shot 7 of 16 from the field.
Analysis: Green has been on a tear in his last five games, averaging 16.4 points during that span while scoring in double figures in all of those contests. As long as he continues to stay hot, Green is a strong No. 3 Fantasy forward in all leagues.
News: In his last five games, Oklahoma City F Jeff Green has scored in double figures and averaged 17.2 points and six rebounds during that span. His latest performance double figure performance came Wednesday night as Green scored 14 on 6 of 10 shooting as the Thunder defeated New Orleans 103-99.
Analysis: For the season Green is averaging 14.3 points per game and 6.1 rebounds. He has been riding a hot streak as of late and Fantasy owners should consider him a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy option.
News: Oklahoma City PF Jeff Green just missed a double-double on Wednesday in a loss to the Bulls. Green scored 24 points on 9 of 19 shooting with two threes and added nine rebounds over 43 minutes. The 24 points Green scored were his highest total since dropping 26 on Cleveland on Dec. 13.
Analysis: Green has been scoring slightly better of late averaging 16.0 PPG over his last five. That comes with 8.6 boards, a block and a three per night. Green is still underwhelming owners this season but remains viable in most leagues.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green scored 15 points for the third straight game Friday in a loss at Memphis. Green shot 7 of 18 from the field and hit a three. He added eight rebounds and three blocks.
Analysis: Green is averaging 14.0 points per game over his last five and 14.1 on the year. He is getting more rebounds of late as well as picking up his blocked shots. Green is still a bit of a disappointment this season and with the Thunder playing just three games in Week 14 (Jan. 25-31) you only need to use him in the deeper leagues.
News: Thunder forward Jeff Green scored 15 points and added 11 boards on Monday in a win at Atlanta. Green shot 5 of 13 and hit a three as well as contributed in a variety of other ways. Green added a steal, a block and an assist.
Analysis: Green is still not producing like his Fantasy owners hoped he would but his five-game average of 13 points, eight boards, 1.4 steals, one block and almost a three per night certainly establishes him as a Rotisserie-type Fantasy player. Green continues to be worth using in at least all deeper leagues.
News: Oklahoma City PF Jeff Green had a nice game Wednesday but the Thunder lost to the Spurs in overtime anyway. Green scored 16 points on 7 of 9 from the field and added 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Analysis: Green is averaging just 12.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and less than a three per night over his last five. That comes with 1.8 steals but is definitely not at the level that Fantasy owners have grown accustomed to expecting from the third-year player out of Georgetown. The Thunder lean so heavily on Kevin Durant that they have few points to go to other talented players like Green. Despite his upside, he's no more than a No. 3 Fantasy forward right now.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green had 20 points to go along with five rebounds Wednesday against the Hornets, reaching the 20-point plateau for the first time in nine games and only the sixth time this season. He averaged 10.6 points over his previous eight games.
Analysis: Green is averaging right at 14 points per game, which is disappointment enough, but he only seems to be getting worse as the season progresses. The Thunder lean so heavily on Kevin Durant that they have few points to go to other talented players like Green. Despite his upside, he's no more than a No. 3 Fantasy forward right now.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green saw just 17 minutes on Monday night in a win at the Nets. Oklahoma City seemed to be playing well with backups Nick Collison and Serge Ibaka in there and the team decided to keep Green and others on the bench for much of the second half. Green scored just six points and shot 2 of 5 from the field. He added two rebounds and two turnovers.
Analysis: Green scored just six points on Saturday night against Charlotte and that was over 40 minutes on the court. Green is averaging just 12.4 points per game over his last five contests and that is below his season average of 14.5. When you consider he scored 16.5 points per game for the entire year last year, it is obvious that Green isn't the same guy right now. We believe this playing time issue was more of a one-game thing but Green needs to pick up the pace across the board. Green has the upside to be owned in all Fantasy leagues but is not a must-start option right now.
News: Oklahoma City PF Jeff Green has been inconsistent of late and played well on Wednesday in a loss to Dallas. Green managed just eight points and seven boards on Monday at Denver but recorded a double-double Wednesday with 15 points and 11 rebounds. He shot 7 of 11 from the field and hit a three.
Analysis: Green is averaging 16.2 points, 7.8 boards and a three and block per game over his last five contests. Those numbers are actually all above his season numbers despite the poor game on Monday. Green is improving as the season goes on and deserves to be at least considered in most Fantasy lineups at this point.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green had 26 points to go with 4 rebounds and an assist Sunday against Cleveland. It was his second 20-plus scoring game in his last three games.
Analysis: Green is averaging 16.6 points and 5.8 rebounds over their last five games. His numbers are a tad down compared to last season, but he still has this kind of ability and Fantasy owners who can be patient with him are likely to be rewarded.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green had 21 points and 13 rebounds Monday against the Warriors, giving him his fourth double-double of the season. He had gone 10 games without scoring 20 points.
Analysis: Playing alongside Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, Green doesn't have the opportunity to meet his full offensive potential. With 15 points and six rebounds per game, he's just a No. 3 Fantasy forward.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green struggled shooting just 3 of 10 on Friday in a loss to Boston. He scored six points in that game, his lowest effort since scoring four points at the Lakers on Nov. 22. Green added just two boards, a steal and a block over 37 minutes Friday.
Analysis: Green has been inconsistent at times this season but is still averaging 14.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and over a steal, three and block per game. He has great Rotisserie numbers but he's struggling more in his third season than he did in his sophomore campaign last year thus far. He'll turn things around. Green remains a solid Fantasy option for any league. The Thunder play three times during Week 7.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green, who scored only four points in his last game Sunday at the Lakers, bounced back with 19 at Utah on Tuesday, shooting 6 for 13 from the field and 3 for 7 from 3-point range. He also had six rebounds and set season highs with five assists and four steals.
Analysis: Green continues to play a supporting role to Kevin Durant, which keeps him from reaching his full potential as a scorer and makes him closer to a No. 3 Fantasy forward than a No. 2. At least he provides steals and threes, though.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green has struggled at times this season but on Friday against the Wizards was at his best. Green scored 19 points on 8 of 15 shooting with a three and he added 14 rebounds. He also stole a ball and picked up two assists in 39 minutes.
Analysis: Green is averaging 15 points and 6.1 boards per game this season and both those numbers are lower than last year's season averages. He is also passing less and hitting fewer threes thus far in 2009-10. It will turn around and Green still belongs active in most Fantasy leagues. The Thunder do only play three games during the next scoring period, however, so plan accordingly.
News: Thunder PF Jeff Green, who had a total of 15 points over his previous two games, bounced back with 19 at Sacramento on Tuesday. He also had five rebounds, three steals and two blocks in 36 minutes.
Analysis: Green is a good enough scorer to average more than 15 points per game, but he'll have some occasional duds when Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook blow up to do most of the team's scoring. Since you can count on Green for a few rebounds and even some 3-pointers, he's worth starting as a No. 2 forward in Fantasy.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green scored 18 points with 5 rebounds and 3 assists in Tuesday's overtime game against the Lakers. He also added 2 steals and 2 blocks while shooting 3 for 5 from beyond the arc. Green is 8 for 19 from beyond the arc in four games.
Analysis: Green has averaged great basic stats: 19.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. But it's his peripheral numbers (1.5 steals, 1.3 blocks, 2.0 three pointers per game) that are helping to make him an elite option in category-based play. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a must-start in all leagues who is quickly becoming an elite forward in Fantasy.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green, still learning to play the four, played like a power forward in the season opener Wednesday against the Kings. He had eight rebounds and three blocks to go along with 24 points. He also had four 3-pointers.
Analysis: Green struggled with his rebounds this preseason, so eight in the opener is an encouraging sign. Playing alongside Kevin Durant limits his upside a bit, but he can still become a big scorer and rebounder with the ability to hit a 3-pointer. Use him as a No. 2 Fantasy forward.
News: The Oklahoma City Thunder have exercised fourth-year contract options on Kevin Durant and Jeff Green. Thunder general manager Sam Presti said on Friday that the team also exercised third-year options on guard Russell Westbrook and forward D.J. White.
Analysis: The franchise drafted Durant and Green in 2007 and Westbrook and White in 2008. NBA rookies get two-year contracts with teams having the option to pick up a third and fourth season. With the team exercising its option on the players, all four are now under contract with the Thunder through the 2010-11 season. Green had a breakout season in his second year. He averaged 16.5 points and 6.7 rebounds and developed into a solid Fantasy forward, but we don't think he's done yet. Look for him to continue to improve this season as a possible high-end No. 2 forward. He is worth starting in all leagues.
News: The Oklahoman reports that going into his second offseason, Thunder forward Jeff Green said he is now more knowledgeable about what to do in the summer. "I'll take a break this year and rest up," Green said. "(Last year), it was only like four or five days before I started playing pick-up. Eventually, it led to workouts and heavy weight lifting. But now it's going to be more of a break, resting my body rather than trying to hurry up and get back into the swing of things." Green said he'll focus on running, weight lifting and playing as much basketball as possible when he begins working out, fine tuning his guard skills while also getting bigger.
Analysis: Green had a breakout season in his second year. Green averaged 16.5 points and 6.7 rebounds and developed into a No. 2 Fantasy forward. Look for him to continue to improve, and he will enter 2009-10 as a solid Fantasy option.
News: Thunder forward Jeff Green had 16 points, two rebounds and two assists Tuesday against the Spurs. He made 7-of-13 shots from the field.
Analysis: Green is shooting 44.6 percent from the field this season, so any time he's better than 50 percent is a plus. He needs to rebound more, but Green is a capable scorer and worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy forward in all formats.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green scored 15 points and ripped down nine rebounds on Sunday at Boston in a losing effort. Green shot 6-of-18 and added three dimes, a steal and a block.
Analysis: Green is certainly not nearly as hot as he was back in December when he averaged 18 points per game but his current five-game average of 14-7-3 plus 1.2 steals and a three per night makes him worth using in any Fantasy format.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green scored 18 points and added three rebounds and an assist in a 103-96 loss to the Bulls on Wednesday. Green is averaging 17.2 points per game with 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists over his last five games.
Analysis: Green is a solid and consistent player with the Thunder and he is hitting his averages of late. He is a solid No. 2 option and should be active in most leagues.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green returned from a four-game absence on Tuesday night at Sacramento and immediately gave his teammates a lift. Green was 6-of-13 from the floor with a three and he scored 22 points with six boards. He did turn the ball over seven times, however.
Analysis: Green returned as expected on Tuesday and will remain a solid option throughout the week in daily leagues. Green is a solid No. 2 forward in his second year in the league and is averaging 17 points, seven boards and two assists per night.
News:The Oklahoman reports that Jeff Green could return Tuesday in Sacramento. Green has been practicing with the team and has shown minimal effects of his back injury.
Analysis: The Thunder play three games during Week 20 (March 9-15) and they have favorable match-ups. Green is not a player easy to replace in lineups and some owners may feel like it's worth the risk to have him active. When healthy, he is a solid No. 2 forward. He is very close to a return and would likely return Wednesday if he does not on Tuesday.
News: The Oklahoman reports Thunder forward Jeff Green (sore back) is starting to look better and he could be upgraded to probable for Tuesday's game at Sacramento. Green missed Sunday's game against the Sixers with the injury, the fourth game in a row he has been out.
Analysis: It sounds like Green could return, but there have been reports of his status improving all week. Be cautious when setting your lineup, but there is a chance Green could play Tuesday against the Kings. When healthy, Green is a No. 2 Fantasy forward.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green did not play on Sunday against the Sixers due to a sore back, but did warm up before the team before the game. His status before tip was in doubt, and he ultimately took the night off. He remains questionable for Tuesday's game at Sacramento.
Analysis: Green owners are going to have to make a tough decision for the upcoming scoring period. The Thunder play three games during Week 20 (March 9-15) and they have favorable match-ups. Green is not a player easy to replace in lineups and some owners may feel like it's worth the risk to have him active. When healthy, he is a solid No. 2 forward.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green was unable to return to the Thunder lineup as expected on Saturday as he continues to deal with a sore back. He is not expected to play in Sunday's game against the Sixers either
Analysis: There has been more optimistic news regarding Green's status and he recently said his back was doing better. There is only a slight chance he'll play on Sunday, but wait until then to make a decision on starting him for the upcoming scoring period. When healthy, Green is a solid No. 2 forward.
News: The Oklahoman reports Thunder forward Jeff Green said Friday his sore back feels "great" but is unsure whether the medical staff will clear him for Saturdays game at New Orleans. He is scheduled to travel with the team.
Analysis: This is the most optimistic news we have heard with Green since he got hurt. While we don't expect him to play against the Hornets, this could mean he's getting closer to a return to the court.
News:The Oklahoman reports that Kevin Durant (sprained ankle) and Jeff Green (sore lower back) both shot some during pre-game warm-ups. Coach Scott Brooks said each will be put through cutting and stop-and-start drills before theyre allowed to return. "Theyre both so competitive, they want to be out there," Brooks said. "Thats a good thing, but theyll have to show us theyre 100 percent." The report adds that it's doubtful either will play this weekend Saturday in New Orleans, Sunday at home against the Philadelphia 76ers but both are improving to where they could return sometime the next week to 10 days.
Analysis: It does not sound good for Green's chances of being activated in Fantasy leagues for the upcoming scoring period. He could return, but likely not for a full week. Fantasy owners should keep him reserved in all leagues until a return date is announced. When healthy, he should be viewed as a solid No. 2 forward in any league.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green was unable to play for a second straight game on Wednesday as he continues to deal with back spasms. He is the second-leading scorer on the Thunder roster. Consider him questionable for the Thunder's game against the Hornets on Saturday.
Analysis: With both Green and Durant out of the Thunder lineup, they're going to have problems finding ways to put the ball in the hoop. That's why they'll try to get both of them back out there as soon as possible. The former Georgetown product averaged a season-high 20.5 points in 12 February games. When healthy, Green is a No. 2 Fantasy forward in all leagues.
News: The Oklahoma City Thunder were without leading scorers Kevin Durant and Jeff Green for Monday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks. Durant had already missed the Thunder's last game with a sprained right ankle and was joined on the sidelines by Green, who started having back spasms Monday. Durant is fourth in the NBA with a 26-point scoring average, while Green is second on the team with 17.2 points a game. "Kevin and Jeff are our best offensive players. They've proven that most of the year," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "Our guys that work hard before practice and after practice and before games are going to get an opportunity to fill in the offensive void." Brooks said both players were considered day-to-day. Nick Collison was to start in Green's power forward spot, and rookie guard Kyle Weaver was to make his second straight spot in place of Durant.
Analysis: Green had played in 93 straight games since he missed two with a sprained left ankle in February 2008. Back spasms shouldn't put Green out for a long period, but he could miss a few games. The former Georgetown product averaged a season-high 20.5 points in 12 February games. When healthy, Green is a No. 2 Fantasy forward in all leagues.
News: The Oklahoman reports Jeff Green, hampered by a sore lower back, will not play Monday against Dallas. Green, averaging 17.2 points, averaged 27.5 points the last two games when Kevin Durant has been sidelined with an ankle injury. Green was the only Oklahoma City player who has played in every game this season. He has the league's 12th longest consecutive games started streak. Nick Collison will start in Green's slot.
Analysis: Keep Green reserved in daily leagues and be cautious when setting your lineup for weekly formats. The Thunder do have four games this scoring period, but they will likely be cautious with Green since they are looking toward the future. When healthy, Green is a No. 2 forward in all leagues.
News:Jeff Green had 27 points and 10 rebounds and the Thunder snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 99-92 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night despite not having top scorer Kevin Durant in the lineup.
Analysis: Green went 8-of-20 in the game to lead the Thunder in scoring on Saturday. He has been phenomenal of late, averaging 20.4 points per game and a whopping 12 rebounds over his last five games. With Durant out possibly another couple of games, Green is a must-start in the upcoming scoring period.
News: Thunder swingman Jeff Green had 27 points to go with a game-high 15 rebounds and six assists. He also added two steals and was 1-for-3 from beyond the arc and 8-for-9 from the foul line. Green is averaging 20.1 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists in February.
Analysis: Green's only downside on Saturday is that he turned the ball over seven times. He did not have more than three in a game all month, though. Fantasy owners should be starting him in more than the 69 percent of leagues he is starting in right now. He is producing at the level of a No. 1 forward, after all.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green scored 24 points on Tuesday in a loss to New Orleans. Green played 42 minutes and was 9-of-17 from the field with a three in the game. He added seven rebounds and two steals.
Analysis: Green is dropping 18 points per game over his last five contests and that comes with seven boards, three dimes and a three per game. He has become a primary focal point in the team's offense and that should continue the rest of the way as the team tries to develop him as a building block for the future.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green had 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and shot 7-for-20 from the field in Wednesday's game in Portland. It was the team's last game prior to the All-Star break. He is averaging 18.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists over his last five games.
Analysis: Green heads into the break having taken 79 shots over his last five contests. On Wednesday, he took five more shots than anyone on the team -- including Kevin Durant. He has become a primary focal point in the team's offense and that should continue the rest of the way as the team tries to develop him as a building block for the future.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green had 20 points, nine rebounds, two steals and a three in Friday's game against Portland. He is averaging 21.2 points and 8.4 rebounds over his last five games.
Analysis: Green is emerging as a reputable force alongside Kevin Durant and is a heavily featured part of the team's offense. He provides excellent scoring, good rebounding, solid three-point shooting, some steals and a handful of assists. Start him in any league.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green had 28 points on 11-of-23 shooting, 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals Sunday at Sacramento. The combined 41 points and rebounds represented a season high for him. He didn't hit a single 3-pointer, however.
Analysis: Green is averaging 17.8 points in 30 games since the beginning of December, breaking out in his sophomore season. His other contributions -- most notably, rebounds and 3-pointers -- make him as much as a No. 2 Fantasy forward and a player you probably can't afford to bench. Keep him active.
News: Memphis F Jeff Green scored 23 points on a career-high five 3-pointers as the Thunder recovered after blowing a late 10-point deficit to beat the Grizzlies 114-102 in overtime Wednesday night. Green went 9-of-16 from the field, hitting five of the six triples he attempted. He was a rebound away from a double-double with nine boards and four assists.
Analysis: Green's production scoring average of 19.6 over his last three games is a full three points higher than his season average of 26.4. He is adding 6.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists to boot, making him a pretty complete Fantasy player. Keep thinking of him as a solid No. 3 option in most leagues.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green scored 13 points and added six rebounds in 26 minutes Monday against the Nets. Green went 4-of-10 from the field and added one assist. He has scored in double-figures in eight of his last nine games. Green is averaging 16.3 points per game in that span.
Analysis: Green came into Monday's game averaging 16.4 points for the season, so he has been right on his average in the last few weeks. The second-year forward has made great strides in 2008-09 and has emerged as a viable No. 3 Fantasy forward.
News: Thunder forward Jeff Green was confident he had more than enough time to get off a shot. Green scored 26 points with four rebounds and three assists, including a turnaround jumper from 16 feet at the buzzer to lift Oklahoma City to a 122-121 win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. "Yeah I called it," Green said. "There was a lot of time left. I just had to stay with my shot, not rush it, and it went in. It feels great."
Analysis: Green has improved dramatically this season and remains a quality No. 3 Fantasy forward. He should be started in most leagues at this time, and hopefully his play will remain consistent all year.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green shot poorly against Detroit on Friday and shot just 2-of-16 from the field for nine points. He made up for that on Sunday against Miami with 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting. He also added six boards, a steal and a block.
Analysis: Green is still averaging 17 points, 10 boards, 1.2 blocks and a steal per night over his last five games and that comes with a three as well. He's definitely a nice Rotisserie player but he's struggling with his shot right now and that is why his scoring numbers are a bit down. He should bounce back though and he remains a No. 3 forward in all formats at this time. Of course, with the Thunder playing just twice in Week 13 (Jan. 19-25) you may want to keep him on the bench.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green scored 15 points and added 10 boards for his second straight double-double on Monday night in an overtime loss to the Nets. He shot poorly from the field going 4-of-15, however, and is just 8-of-32 in his last two games. He did have three blocks on Monday.
Analysis: Green is putting up 15 points, seven rebounds and almost a block and steal per night over his last five and hits threes, too. He's definitely a nice Rotisserie player but he's struggling with his shot right now and that is why his scoring numbers are a bit down. He should bounce back though and he remains a No. 3 forward in all formats at this time.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green continues to play the best basketball of his two-year career lately and scored 27 points in a win over the Knicks on Tuesday. It's the fourth time in five games he's scored over 20 points and he notched 18 in the other game for an average of 23.2. Green was 8-of-16 in the game and 3-for-6 from long range. He also had seven rebounds.
Analysis: Green is averaging 7.4 boards per night over his last five to go with the scoring. He hits threes, too, and is playing like a must-start top of the line Fantasy forward right now. The off nights will come as just a sophomore but he's really coming into his own.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green had 22 points and 11 rebounds Monday against Phoenix. It was his third double-double in his past five games.
Analysis: Green is capable of playing at this level all season, but he will continue to have off nights as a sophomore in the NBA tends to do. Still, he can post solid stat lines and is worth starting as a No. 3 forward in all formats at this time.
News: Oklahoma City SF Jeff Green shot 7-of-14 from the field Saturday night in a loss to the Wizards for 23 points. Green had a very nice game as he added four threes, seven rebounds and three blocked shots in 32 minutes.
Analysis: Green has been playing very well of late for OKC. He's averaging 16 points and eight boards over his last five games and brings a lot more than that to the table with his ability to hit threes. Hopefully he will continue to rebound at this level while scoring in double figures. For now, continue to start Green as a No. 3 Fantasy forward and hope he produces at this level.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green tied a career high with 14 rebounds and finished with 18 points Tuesday at Atlanta.
Analysis: Green has played well this year and is capable of games like this. Hopefully he will continue to rebound at this level while scoring in double figures. For now, continue to start Green as a No. 3 Fantasy forward and hope he produces at this level.
News: Thunder F Jeff Green scored 33 points in Sunday's game at San Antonio off 14-for-23 shooting from the field. He has scored at least 21 points in three of his last five games and had scored 25 points his last time out in Dallas.
Analysis: Green went through Dallas and San Antonio and made out like a bandit. Those are two of the tougher defensive teams in the league and he lit them up for 10-plus field goals made in both games. He is coming into his own as a scorer and has turned out to be one of the better values in Fantasy leagues. He is worth activating in any format.
News: Oklahoma City SF Jeff Green scored over 20 points for the second time in five games on Saturday night against the Mavericks. Green finished with 25 on 10-of-16 shooting with six boards and a block.
Analysis: Green is averaging 15.4 points and six boards over his last five contests. He shoots well and hits the occasional three. He's also a nice source of blocks and steals for a small forward. Green continues to play better this season compared to his rookie campaign last year, but he is capable of bad outings as well. Still, continue to start Green as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy forward at this time.
News: Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green had nine points, three assists and four rebounds while shooting 4-of-13 from the field and 1-of-4 from the foul line Monday against Golden State. Green has now scored in single digits just twice in his past six games.

News: Thunder F Jeff Green was held to nine points in Friday's game at Orlando, but he added seven rebounds and three assists. Green had scored at least 18 points in his previous three games.
Analysis: Since the team's coaching change, Green has been moved to power forward and should be acquiring power forward status in leagues that use individual positions and allow for multiple positions real soon. Either way, Green remains a big building block for the Thunder and will be in the team's plans in one way or another. He's turning into the secondary go-to-guy behind Kevin Durant and is worth starting in most formats as No. 3 forward with a ton of upside.
News: Thunder SF Jeff Green, who had a four-game stretch earlier this month where he averaged 19.5 points, scored only eight points on 4-of-12 shooting Wednesday at Cleveland. He also had four rebounds. He's averaging 10 points over his last five games, scoring in double figures only twice.
Analysis: Green has the upside to do what he did earlier this month, but his recent performance shows he hasn't quite turned the corner yet. You shouldn't cut him, because the rebuilding Thunder will give him every opportunity to succeed, but think of him as just a No. 4 Fantasy forward.
News: Oklahoma City SF Jeff Green has been playing well lately and scored a team-high 21 points on Saturday against the 76ers. Green added four assists and three steals and hit on 10-of-15 from the field.
Analysis: Green has two 20-point nights in his last three games for the Thunder and is blossoming in his second season. Green has lots of upside and he showed that on Saturday. He's going to have good games and bad games. Stash him on your bench in leagues of 10-plus teams until the good games begin to get more prevalent.

News: Thunder F Jeff Green shot just 2-for-7 from the field in Thursday's season opener against Milwaukee. He scored seven points with three rebounds, two assists and two steals. He committed a team-high five turnovers.
Analysis: Green still looked like a rookie in the first game of his second season. The former first round draft pick has a lot of upside, but has to show it consistently before he can be relied upon in Fantasy. Stash him on your bench in leagues of 10-plus teams.
News: Reports out of Oklahoma City are that head coach P.J. Carlesimo has not decided on a starting lineup for the season opener yet. However, injuries could decide it for him. Power forward Chris Wilcox is dealing with a hamstring injury and is not quite 100 percent yet. Nick Collison is dealing with a hyperextended knee, Earl Watson is dealing with a strained calf and Joe Smith is getting used to playing with a mask after suffering a fractured nose. Ideally, the Thunder would look to start Watson and Kevin Durant in the back court with Jeff Green and Wilcox at forward and Collison at center.
Analysis: The injured players are considered game-time decisions as of Sunday, making them risky starts in Fantasy for Week 1. Durant is a must-start in all formats and Jeff Green has some measure of appeal in larger leagues, though, he's still a wait-and-see player for now. Smith is not a recommended Fantasy option at the moment. Off the bench, Russell Westbrook is far too green to trust yet in Fantasy and Desmond Mason would only be worth activating if an injury forces him into more minutes.
News: The Oklahoma City Thunder have exercised their team options to keep reigning rookie of the year Kevin Durant and fellow first-round pick Jeff Green with the team through next season. General manager Sam Presti announced the moves Thursday. NBA rookies get two-year contracts with teams having the option to pick up a third season.
Analysis: Green averaged 10.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists as a rookie, but had a much better second half after a slow pre-All-Star start. He averaged 13.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 31 games after the break and figures to be a fixture at small forward for the young Oklahoma-bound team. Green and Durant are the building blocks of that franchise and Fantasy owners should use his post-All-Star break numbers as a guide to his 2008-09 projections.
News: Rookie of the Year Kevin Durant and Al Horford headlined the NBA All-Rookie team announced Tuesday. Atlanta's Horford was the only unanimous choice with 58 votes, followed by Seattle's Durant with 57 in balloting by the league's head coaches. Houston's Luis Scola (53), Los Angeles Clippers forward Al Thornton (48) and Seattle's Jeff Green (43) also made the first team.

He had 13 points with three rebounds and two assists in Wednesday's loss to Washington and now has three straight games with 10-plus points. He's managed double figures in nine of 14 March games.
Analysis: Green is averaging 15.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists over his last five games. The rookie has been highly inconsistent this season, but is worth activating as a low-end Fantasy forward in any format while his production remains this good.
News: Sonics F Jeff Green shot just 2-for-8 from the field Friday at the Lakers and finished with just seven points. He's been held under 10 points in two of his last three games.

Analysis: Green has found his most consistent play of late since the team traded Wally Szczerbiak. He just wasn't used much in Sunday's game. He still saw 27 minutes, though, and can be useful in larger leagues as a stopgap.
News: Sonics F Jeff Green had 10 points with 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds in Wednesday's loss at Milwaukee. He now has four double-digit scoring games in his last six contests.
Analysis: Green has found his most consistent play of late since the team traded Wally Szczerbiak. He found a way to produce a decent line in a game where Damien Wilkins got hot and scored 17 points off the bench. Consider him a decent No. 4 Fantasy forward at this time.
News: Seattle forward Jeff Green had 15 points, two rebounds and one assist Tuesday at Detroit.
Analysis: Green has played well recently and is worth using as a No. 4 Fantasy forward at this time.
News: Sonics F Jeff Green shot 3-for-4 from the field in Sunday's win at Minnesota. He scored 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. He also added a steal.
Analysis: Green has benefited greatly from the deal that sent Wally Szczerbiak to Cleveland. His main competition for minutes now is just Damien Wilkins and he should be around 30 mpg now on most nights. That wasn't the case Sunday when he played just 24 minutes.
News: Sonics F Jeff Green had 15 points with 2 rebounds and an assist in Wednesday's loss to Denver. He shot 4-for-15 from the field and has now scored 15-plus points in three straight games.

News: Sonics F Jeff Green had 15 points with 8 rebounds in Sunday's loss to the Lakers. He shot 6-for-9 from the field in 34 minutes from the field.
Analysis: Green had more of a role on the boards and in the scoring department with Chris Wilcox out with the flu and Damien Wilkins out with a wrist injury. While Green is a very promising and athletically gifted young talent, he remains very erratic and is a low-end option from a Fantasy standpoint at this time.
News: Sonics F Jeff Green had 13 points and 9 rebounds Thursday at Portland. He shot 5-for-10 from the field and saw 38 minutes of action -- his most since he had 40 minutes on Jan. 3.
Analysis: Green benefits from the trade of Wally Szczerbiak to Cleveland because it clears up a logjam at the small forward position in Seattle. He will still have to contend with Damien Wilkins, but the team is committed to developing their top-5 draft pick.
News: The Cavaliers acquired center Ben Wallace and forward Wally Szczerbiak in a three-way trade involving 11 players that was completed shortly before Thursday's deadline. The Cavaliers sent guard Larry Hughes, forwards Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons, and guard Shannon Brown to Chicago for Wallace and forward Joe Smith. Cleveland acquired Szczerbiak and guard Delonte West from Seattle for forwards Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall. He also gets Chicago's second-round pick in 2009. In Seattle, the absence of Szczerbiak should create more minutes for Jeff Green.
Analysis: What does this mean for Green? It means that he won't have to split minutes at small forward with Szczerbiak AND Damien Wilkins. He'll simply split time with Wilkins. For the time being, Green remains the starter and should continue to improve in the second half. He has decent, low teens scoring potential with some adequate rebound numbers as upside to look forward to.
News: Sonics F Jeff Green had 9 points off 4-for-12 shooting from the field Friday in the Rookie-Sophomore game as part of All-Star Weekend.
Analysis: Green continues to start for the Sonics, but is an erratic option in Fantasy. He's been getting limited playing time despite the fact that he remains a starter. The upside is there, but the consistency is still not. He's worth stashing away in the hopes of a good payoff in the second half.
News: Sonics F Jeff Green shot 4-for-5 from the field Wednesday against Utah, finishing with 8 points and 2 rebounds. He also added an assist.

Analysis: Green now has a block in three straight games and six of his last seven. The rookie continues to be erratic, but is now a fixture in the Sonics rotation and starting lineup. He's worth a spot in Fantasy rosters in leagues of 10-plus teams, but is a low-end, stopgap option.
News: Sonics SF Jeff Green returned to the starting lineup Wednesday against the Kings after missing two games with a sprained ankle. He scored just five points, grabbed two rebounds and added two assists in 20 minutes.
Analysis: Green recently entered the starting lineup, but he hasn't made much of a Fantasy impact in his time there, averaging only 9.1 points. Keep him on your roster for his upside, but you probably have better options you can use right now.

News: Sonics SF Jeff Green went a perfect 8-for-8 from the field Thursday against the Cavs on his way to 17 points. He also had three rebounds and three assists while scoring double figures for the third time in seven games.
Analysis: The rookie out of Georgetown never had a perfect night from the field until Thursday. He continues to start for Seattle, but his stat line is still not that impressive. He has a high ceiling, but is nothing more than a low-end Fantasy flier and long-term keeper.

News: For just the third time in nine January games, Jeff Green cracked double figures when he had 10 points Saturday at Dallas. He shot just 2-for-6 from the field, but was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Analysis: Green continues to start at small forward for the Sonics, but he's actually struggled in that role. He's a rookie, and we expect him to only get better as he goes. Unfortunately, in Week 13 (Jan. 21-27) the Sonics face tough matchups against the Rockets (twice) and Atlanta. We don't recommend inserting Green into your Fantasy lineups just yet.
News: Sonics rookie Jeff Green had just four points and four rebounds in 20 minutes Friday at Memphis. He has just 13 points and six rebounds combined in his last two games.
Analysis: It seems Green has almost been hurt more by his promotion to starter than he has been helped by it. He's a rookie, and he'll be up-and-down, so expect him to get going soon. The first rounder has some upside and is worth stashing away on your Fantasy bench for now.
News: Sonics SF Jeff Green struggled a bit from the field Wednesday against the Hornets. He was able to launch 13 shots, but hit on just four. He finished with nine points and two rebounds. It was the fifth time in six games he was held under 10 points.
Analysis: Green continues to start for the Sonics, but like most rookies is having his ups and downs. He has taken 10 or more shots in six of his last nine games, so it appears as though Seattle is encouraging him to be more aggressive. Green remains a great long-term keeper, but is more of a low-end Fantasy forward at this time.
News: Sonics F Jeff Green had six points with five rebounds and three blocks in Friday's loss to Dallas. It was his fourth straight game in which he's scored less than 10 points.
Analysis: It seems Green has almost been hurt more by his promotion to starter than he has been helped by it. He's a rookie, and he'll be up-and-down, so expect him to get going soon. The first rounder has some upside and is worth stashing away on your Fantasy bench for now.
News: Sonics rookie Jeff Green, recently inserted as starting small forward, has gradually had his scoring decrease over the last five games, from 18 points Dec. 29 to six Tuesday at Cleveland. He shot only 2-for-7 from the floor.
Analysis: No doubt, Green will have his struggles as a rookie, but he has enough upside and opportunity to deserve a roster spot in all Fantasy leagues. Reserve him while he goes through this rough stretch.
News: Making his third consecutive start, Jeff Green was able to score 14 points with five rebounds and an assist Thursday at Phoenix, playing alongside fellow rookie Kevin Durant who returned from a one-game absence. Green also added two steals and a block.
Analysis: Green was able to produce despite the return of Durant, who will continue to be the team's primary scoring option. Green has averaged 16.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.7 apg and 1.7 bpg in his last three starts.
News: Sonics SF Jeff Green, the fifth pick in the 2007 draft, made his second career start Saturday against the Timberwolves. He scored 18 points -- his highest total since Nov. 9. "Let's look at different combinations that we haven't looked at," coach P.J. Carlesimo said of the move. "We haven't looked at Kevin (Durant) and Jeff starting, probably (since) in the preseason. We're going to look at a lot of people."
Analysis: Green also had five rebounds. If this move becomes permanent, he could see a huge boost in Fantasy value, as inconsistent minutes held him back more than anything else. If he remains unowned in your league, put in a claim for him now because he could emerge as a No. 3 or 4 Fantasy forward as a starter.
News: Sonics SF Jeff Green scored 17 points with five rebounds, three assists and a block in Wednesday's win at the Knicks, snapping a four-game single-digit scoring streak.
Analysis: Green should be expected to be erratic in his rookie season and Fantasy owners should not rely upon him heavily. He's talented, though, and can be useful as a decent stopgap when he's on a hot streak. He's not quite there yet.
News: Sonics SF Jeff Green had 14 points and 14 rebounds in 33 minutes off the bench Friday against the Nets. It was his second straight double-double. In his previous game against the Grizzlies, he also pulled down 14 rebounds while scoring 11 points.
Analysis: The rookie out of Georgetown is improving with every game and it shows in his numbers. He is going to be a real threat in Fantasy in no time, but remains a low-end option at this time.
News: SuperSonics F Jeff Green made his first NBA start Monday night at Memphis. He started at power forward with Chris Wilcox moving to center. Green brought down 14 rebounds and scored 11 points.
Analysis: Green is a small forward by nature, but the Sonics needed to make a move at center with the team strapped for options at the five. That's why they decided to move power forward Chris Wilcox to the center spot and Green to the four. We don't know how long this will last, but if it does, Green is going to be a fantastic pick up. Start adding him now.
News: Sonics rookie F Jeff Green had 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals in 28 minutes off the bench Tuesday at Orlando, shooting 5-of-11 from the floor. After getting off to a slow start, he's now reached double-digit scoring in each of his last three games, averaging 16 ppg over that stretch.
Analysis: Green also averaged 6.3 rpg over that stretch and has started to emerge as the kind of impact rookie we expected all along. He only scored in the double digits once in his first five games, but has since seen his minutes and shot selection improve. Fantasy owners still need to be patient with the future star, but he's looking more and more like he might become a worthy Fantasy starter sooner rather than later.
News: SF Jeff Green, Seattle's fifth overall pick, had a career-high 19 points off the bench while fearlessly banging into bigger bodies Friday against the Jazz. He shot 7-of-12 from the floor and added four rebounds in 29 minutes.
Analysis: Green has had an up-and-down start to his career in his rookie season, scoring a then-high 14 points in 23 minutes Monday before shrinking back to a combined 10 points in 26 minutes Tuesday and Wednesday before emerging with Friday's performance. He'll probably even out his play before season's end, but his Fantasy owners will need to be patient with the future star.
News: Sonics rookie Jeff Green picked up career highs with 14 points and seven boards in Sunday's loss at the Clippers. He shot 4-for-7 from the field in 23 minutes off the bench and also added a block.
Analysis: Green displayed some of his raw athleticism in Sunday's loss with some acrobatic dunks and a highlight reel layup among other things. It was by far the best game for the rookie in his first week as a pro and Fantasy owners will have to continue to be patient with the Sonics' "other" first rounder. He's currently coming off the bench and playing behind Kevin Durant, but the Sonics have toyed with the idea of starting Green at the three and moving Durant over to shooting guard. Continue to monitor this situation.
News: Sonics SF Jeff Green (ankle) was able to come off the bench in his first NBA regular season game Wednesday night at Denver. He finished with five points on 1-for-2 shooting. He added two boards and a block.
Analysis: Damien Wilkins is starting at the two for now with Kevin Durant at the three. The Sonics are expected to try starting Durant at the two with Green at the three, but that hasn't happened yet. As a rookie reserve, Green's Fantasy appeal remains limited. The upside, however, is there for that to change fairly quickly. Stash him away if at all possible.
News: The Tacoma News-Tribune is reporting that the SuperSonics are leaning towards starting Damien Wilkins at small forward at the beginning of the season. Rookie Jeff Green is expected to come off the bench.
Analysis: Wilkins may get the nod early on -- especially with rookie Green nursing an ankle sprain -- but we feel that this will be Green's job at some point during the season. It could happen very soon. Green has the upside to start and produce as a rookie on a team that will be building for the future. The team invested a first-round pick in the Georgetown product and feel he's one of the building blocks for the future. Fantasy owners should be patient with the rookie. He should pay off nicely at some point this season. We feel that will be soon rather than later.
News: In his team's final preseason game Friday against the Suns, Sonics SF Jeff Green sprained his left ankle early in the second half. The rookie from Georgetown, starting because Kevin Durant was already back in Seattle with his own sprained left ankle, went to the locker room for treatment. He then returned to finish the third period before leaving for the night with 13 points. "I felt a little tweak. I just didn't want to go out there and re-aggravate it," Green said, without ice or even a wrap under his left shoe as he prepared to board the team bus. "This is nothing right now."
Analysis: The Sonics consider Green a fixture in their lineup for years to come. They'll feature him prominently this season, perhaps even starting him, but think of him more as a project than a stud right now in seasonal Fantasy formats. Like he said, the injury sounds like nothing right now, so consider using him the opening week of the season.
News: Sonics SF Jeff Green, a first-round draft pick in the offseason, scored 14 points in a preseason start at Indiana on Saturday. He played 35 minutes and had three assists and two rebounds.

News: Kevin Durant and Jeff Green, the second and fifth overall choices in last week's NBA draft, signed contracts with the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday.
Analysis: Green and Kevin Durant were introduced in Seattle as the future of the franchise as the Sonics guaranteed themselves two of the top five players in the draft. Green will be featured in his rookie season prominantly, but is still a season or two away from fulfilling his vast talent at the NBA level. Draft him highly in keeper leagues, but consider him more of a project in seasonal formats at this time.
News: The Boston Celtics selected Georgetown forward Jeff Green with the fifth overall pick in the NBA Draft. He was then traded to Seattle as part of the Ray Allen deal.
