Hawes has been hampered by a knee injury that forced him to miss the Clippers last nine games. He is averaging 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season.

It will be the fourth straight game Hawes has missed while dealing with a knee injury. However, Rivers added that Hawes will not need to practice before returning to game action. His next opportunity to play will be Saturday against the Bucks.

Hawes will be missing his third straight game with the knee injury. He has averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 22 games. Glen Davis played a season-high 19 minutes in Monday's game and could continue to see extra time Wednesday.

(12/14/2014) An MRI on the injured knee of Clippers center Spencer Hawes Saturday revealed no structural damage, and he has been diagnosed with a bone bruise, NBA.com reports.

"Just a couple bone bruises in there, so dodged a big bullet I guess, so to speak," Hawes said.

Hawes played six minutes Friday before suffering the injury and sat out Saturday. The Clippers have Sunday off before facing the Pistons Monday.

(12/13/2014) Clippers shooting guards Chris Douglas-Roberts (Achilles) and Reggie Bullock (ankle) are active for Saturday's game against the Bucks, the team announced.

Douglas-Roberts has been sidelined since early November and has played just four games this season. Bullock has missed the last five games with his injury.

The Clippers also ruled out center Spencer Hawes (knee) for Saturday's game. He was considered doubtful to suit up.

(11/11/2014) Clippers center Spencer Hawes knew joining the Clippers would require major adjustments. But since joining the team, Hawes has also been dealing with a foot strain which has him on a minutes restriction.

As a result, Hawes is averaging 6.4 points and 3.7 rebounds through seven games, and he said it’s been a difficult adjustment trying to live up to the four-year, $23-million contract he signed in the offseason.

"It's like anything," Hawes said, per the Los Angeles Times. "You want to make a great first impression, you want to come in and prove that you can fit in, that you belong, and sometimes you kind of press. I know kind of my personality, that's what I kind of tend to do. So it's a fine line of trying to make an impact without overdoing it."

(11/8/2014) Clippers coach Doc Rivers told reporters that center Spencer Hawes is on a minutes restriction because of a left foot strain, according to Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report.

Hawes aggravated the injury Wednesday and has been on a walking boot off the court in between games. He logged 12 minutes off the bench against Portland and finished with only one point and three boards in a 106-102 victory.

(7/5/2014) The Clippers have agreed to a four-year deal with free-agent center Spencer Hawes in an effort to shore up the frontcourt rotation.

Hawes will be paid $23 million over the life of the contract, and will likely step into a reserve role behind DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin. Hawes started 78 of his 80 appearances last season while averaging 13.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game and shooting 45.6 percent from the field and 41.6 percent from three-point range.

(7/1/2014) Free agent center Spencer Hawes will be sought after for his ability to stretch the floor and move the ball, and it appears Portland is his No. 1 fan. The Oregonian reports that Hawes is the Trail Blazers' top target in free agency.

The problem is Hawes reportedly wants a raise on his $6.5-million salary from last season, and the most Portland can offer is $5.3 million. If they can't work something out, the paper suggests the Trailblazers will shift their focus to other passing big men such as Josh McRoberts and Boris Diaw.

Hawes averaged 3.0 assists per game last season -- good for fourth among centers. He also ranked second at his position in three pointers made per game at 1.6 a night.

Hawes scored 22 points on 8 of 18 from the floor, including 1 of 7 from downtown, and 5 of 6 from the free throw line. He also contributed with 13 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal while logging 36 minutes of game action.

Hawes has 24 double-doubles on the year, including five with the Cavs. He is averaging 19.0 points, 9.8 boards and 2.0 assists over his last five games.

(3/4/2014) Cavaliers center Spencer Hawes started his fifth straight game in Anderson Varejao's place Tuesday against the Spurs, and is expected to remain in the starting lineup moving forward.

Hawes scored 20 points in an extremely efficient manner, shooting 7 of 9 from the field with a trio of made 3-pointers. He added 13 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal, while playing 33 minutes in a 122-101 loss.

Hawes' double-double came just a day after coach Mike Brown told The News-Herald he would be sticking with Hawes as the starter even when Varejao is healthy enough to play, citing his floor-stretching ability. Hawes is averaging 14.7 points and 9.9 rebounds per game since joining the Cavaliers.

Hawes failed to reach 10 rebounds for the first time in three games with his new team but did manage to knock down multiple three-pointers, a first with Cleveland. He racked up seven rebounds, one assist and one block in 32 minutes Tuesday. Hawes has averaged 13.0 points and 8.6 rebounds over 56 games played.
