Tucker waived by Timberwolves

News: The Minnesota Timberwolves have waived forward Alando Tucker, a former first-round pick out of Wisconsin, on Monday before the game against the Raptors. Phoenix drafted Tucker 29th overall in 2007. He averaged 4.1 points and 1.0 rebounds in 51 career appearances. "He did everything right," coach Kurt Rambis said before the game. "The decisions to not play him were solely on me."
Analysis: The 6-foot-6 Tucker appeared in four games for Minnesota, averaging 2.0 points in 6.3 minutes per game. He clearly has no Fantasy appeal and that will not change.

News: According to the official team Web site, Minnesota F Alando Tucker will be inactive Friday night against Indiana.
Analysis: Tucker is not expected to see meaningful playing time. He has no appeal to Fantasy owners and should be kept on waivers.

Tucker traded traded to Minnesota

News: The Phoenix Suns on Tuesday traded swingman Alando Tucker, a future conditional second-round draft pick and cash considerations to the Minnesota Timberwolves for guard Jason Hart. The Suns then waived Hart.
Analysis: Tucker was originally selected by the Suns in the first round of the 2007 draft at No. 29 overall out of Wisconsin. In two-plus years with Phoenix, Tucker played in 47 games including 11 this season in which he averaged 3.9 points in 6.5 minutes. He has no Fantasy appeal.

Suns trade Tucker to Minnesota

News: The Suns traded SF Alando Tucker to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for guard Jason Hart, reports Inside Hoops. Phoenix then waived Hart.
Analysis: Tucker was the last man off the bench for the Suns and doesn't figure to all of a sudden gain Fantasy value in Minnesota. You can leave him on waivers.

A. Tucker makes rare contribution

News: Suns SF Alando Tucker doubled his previous season high with 14 points Tuesday at New York. He also had three rebounds. He played 12 minutes off the bench and shot 4 for 7 from the field.
Analysis: Tucker is about the last man off the bench for the Suns and only got to play Tuesday because the score was so lopsided. Leave him on waivers in Fantasy.

Lopez, Dudley have options picked up

News: The Suns exercised their options on the contracts of forward Jared Dudley and center Robin Lopez for the 2010-11 season, but declined the option on the contract of swingman Alando Tucker.
Analysis: Dudley is entering his first full season with the Suns after being acquired in a multiplayer trade with Charlotte on Dec. 10. Lopez was Phoenix's first-round pick in the 2008 draft. He is recovering from a broken bone in his left foot. Tucker was a first-round draft pick of Phoenix in 2007 and has played in just 36 games, including 30 last season. The moves were announced Friday. None of these three players are relevant Fantasy options and can continue to be ignored in nearly all formats.

Tucker sees limited action in blowout

News: Phoenix SF Alando Tucker played nearly 10 minutes in a 98-76 blowout loss to the Bobcats on Friday, scoring six points and grabbing a rebound.
Analysis: Friday's game was Tucker's sixth of the season. He is averaging only 3.3 points on the year and not worth owning in Fantasy play. Leave him on waivers.

Tucker recalled by Suns

News: The Phoenix Suns recalled F Alando Tucker from the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League on Friday. The 6-foot-6 Tucker was assigned to Iowa on Dec. 26 and appeared in two games for the Energy. Tucker, who was selected by Phoenix in the first round of the 2007 draft, scored 22 points in six games for the Suns last season.
Analysis: Tucker is yet to play a game for the Suns this season as he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee in November. Now that he has been recalled and appears to be in shape, he should be able to make his debut this season. However, that doesn't really increase his worth in Fantasy, which is very low.

Tucker sent down to NBDL

News: The Phoenix Suns announced Thursday they will assign swingman Alando Tucker to the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League. The move was announced by Suns President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Steve Kerr.
Analysis: The 6-6, 205-pound Tucker was selected by Phoenix with the 29th overall pick in the first round of the 2007 NBA Draft. The second-year player from Wisconsin has not yet made his season debut with the Suns in 2008-09 after missing the first 22 games due to injury, including 19 following arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in November. He will get some time to get in shape in the minors before his recall, but Tucker still has minimal Fantasy appeal.

Tucker making progress in recovery

News: The Sports Xchange notes that Alando Tucker (left knee) underwent successful arthroscopic surgery last Tuesday, and is already walking around and looking for clearance to begin running.
Analysis: Tucker said there was very little swelling in knee after the surgery and is optimistic he can return ahead of the projected four-week timetable. Tucker, in his second season, has not been part of new coach Terry Porter's regular rotation. Leave him on the waiver wire in all leagues until further notice.

Tucker out at least a month

News: Phoenix Suns swingman Alando Tucker had arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday and is expected to be sidelined about four weeks. Team physician Thomas Carter removed loose material from his left kneecap, the Suns said.
Analysis: Tucker, in his second season, has not been part of new coach Terry Porter's regular rotation. Leave him on the waiver wire in all leagues until further notice.

Tucker out for first week

News: Suns F Alando Tucker is going to be unavailable until at least Nov. 4 at New Jersey due to lingering left hamstring tightness, according to the Arizona Republic. The hamstring issue has also created some knee discomfort.
Analysis: The problem originated when he pulled his left calf during a training camp scrimmage in Tucson. He played in four preseason games, ranking second on the team in scoring with a 12.5 average in Leandro Barbosa's absence, but the compensation led to hamstring and knee issues. Tucker said the hamstring is the main culprit and he hopes to be available for next week's Eastern Conference road trip. In Fantasy, though, he has very minimal appeal.

Suns pick up Tucker's option

News: The Phoenix Suns picked up their option on swingman Alando Tucker for the 2009-2010 season and waived guard Robert Hite on Thursday.
Analysis: The 6-foot-6 Tucker, the 29th pick overall, played collegiately at Wisconsin. Hite averaged 7.7 points in six preseason games for Phoenix. Neither player is worth a look in Fantasy.

Tucker plays, even gets the start

News: Suns SF Alando Tucker, who missed the team's last preseason game with a strained left hamstring, returned to the court Tuesday at the Clippers and even got a start. He finished with 10 points, two rebounds and three assists on 4-of-11 shooting in 28 minutes.
Analysis: Despite the preseason start, Tucker doesn't have a spot high on the team's depth chart. Leave him on the waiver wire in all leagues until further notice.

Tucker out with hamstring strain

News: Suns F Alando Tucker missed Monday's preseason game against Charlotte with a strained left hamstring. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: Tucker is not in a position on the team's depth chart to be considered a viable Fantasy option this fall. Leave him on the waiver wire in all leagues until further notice.

Tucker sent to NBADL

News: Alando Tucker, the 29th overall pick in the first round of the 2007 NBA draft, was assigned to the Albuquerque Thunderbirds of the NBA Development League by the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. The move reduced the Suns' roster to 12. Coach Mike D'Antoni said Tucker would be recalled if the Suns had a player injured for an extended period of time.
Analysis: Tucker, the Big Ten player of the year last season at Wisconsin, played in two of Phoenix's first 14 games and averaged six points and eight minutes. "It's the best thing for him," D'Antoni said of Tucker's demotion. "He needs to improve his shooting ... to have a chance. He wants to show he can play." Tucker is merely a long-term keeper at this juncture.

Suns sign rookie Tucker

News: The Phoenix Suns signed first-round draft pick Alando Tucker to a two-year contract Saturday. Terms were not disclosed by the team, but the NBA rookie scale guarantees Tucker will make $776,000 in his rookie season and $834,900 in his second year. The contract also has a team option for two additional years. Tucker, a 6-foot-6 forward, who was the Big Ten Player of the Year last season for Wisconsin, was the 29th overall pick of the June 28 draft. He is on Phoenix's summer league team that will play five games in Las Vegas starting Monday night against Cleveland.
Analysis: Tucker could be a solid rookie sleeper playing for the Suns. Consider taking a late flier on him in 2007-08.
