Young struggles in loss

News: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young struggled to make an impact Saturday, against an undermanned Heat squad missing two starters. Young scored just nine points in the game, just the ninth time he has been held to single digits in scoring. Worse still, he matched his worst rebounding performance of the season, snagging just one board in 29 minutes of action. Young shot just 4 of 11 from the field, in a 106-87 loss.
Analysis: Overall, Young has had a solid season, but his play is slipping recently. Young is averaging 12.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game over the last 10, compared to averages of 15.0 and 7.6 for the season as a whole, respectively. Despite the downturn, Young remains a solid Fantasy option in all formats, down the stretch.

Young continues to excel

News: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young bounced back Wednesday against the Bucks, after a quiet performance in his previous game. Young scored 14 points on 7 of 12 shooting, just two nights after he scored just six points in 17 minutes. He added seven rebounds and filled up the box score well in 37 minutes of action, adding two rebounds, two steals and two assists. The 76ers would go on to win the game, 100-92.
Analysis: Young has taken the step forward we were hoping for this season, as coach Doug Collins has finally grown to trust him. Young has started every game he has appeared in so far, averaging 15.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game on the season. Young is averaging 16.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game in the month of March as well, and can be considered a solid Fantasy option in all formats down the stretch.

News: Philadelphia forward Thaddeus Young had a nice performance on Monday against Portland. Young helped lead the Sixers to a win as he scored 19 points on 9 of 15 shooting over 40 minutes. He dished out five assists and added three boards, four steals and two blocked shots in the performance.
Analysis: Young has recorded double-doubles in three of his last five games and has really brought his game to another level. He's averaging over 20 points per night over his last six contests and should be active in just about all Fantasy formats.

Young leads the way for Sixers

News: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young continued his recent run of solid play on Sunday against the Magic. He led Philadelphia with 26 points and hauled in 12 rebounds in the 99-91 loss. He was an efficient 13 of 17 from the floor while playing 41 minutes. Young also chipped in with five steals and two assists in the defeat.
Analysis: Young entered Sunday averaging 17.6 points with 8.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals in the previous five contests. He also shot 56 percent during that stretch. The 24-year-old is playing some of his best ball of the year and continues to have a resurgent campaign in Fantasy. Keep Young active in the majority of formats heading into Week 20 (March 11-17).

Young doubles up in defeat

News: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young enjoyed a decent performance as he picked up his 15th double-double of the season Tuesday night against the Celtics. He went 9 of 20 shooting from the field and 1 of 3 from the charity stripe. Young finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds in a 109-101 defeat. He also chipped in with two steals and a blocked shot while logging 33 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Young has scored in double figures in the last three games and has averaged 12.5 points and 10.2 rebounds on 40.9 percent shooting from the field in his last six games since coming back from a hamstring injury. His numbers are up accross the board this season, but his scoring has been a bit inconsistent as of late. The 24-year-old should be viewed as a decent Fantasy option in most formats for now.

Young struggling to find shot

News: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young endured a rough shooting performance but came a point and a rebound shy of notching a double-double Thursday night against the Bulls. Young went 4 of 13 shooting from the field and 1 of 4 from the free throw line as he finished with nine points and nine rebounds in a 93-82 defeat. He also chipped in with an assist and two blocked shots while logging 39 minutes of game action.
Analysis: After missing six games with a hamstring injury, Young has returned to action but has only scored in double figures once in the last three games. In fact, he is averaging 9.3 points and 9.7 rebounds on 36.1 percent shooting from the field in the last three games. He is rebounding well, but his scoring has been a bit inconsistent as of late. For now, Fantasy owners should keep him active in most formats until he can get back on track.

Young returns with DBL-DBL

News: Sixers forward Thaddeus Young picked up a double-double as he returned to action Sunday night against the Knicks after missing the last six games with a hamstring injury. He went 5 of 12 shooting from the field and 1 of 3 from the free throw line. He finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds in a 99-93 defeat. He also chipped in with an assist and four steals while logging 36 minutes of game action.
Analysis: It was nice to see Young back in action after missing nearly three weeks with a nagging hamstring injury. That said, the 24-year-old has scored in double figures in all but two of the 48 games played this season, which should make him a viable option once again in Fantasy. Fantasy owners should keep him active in all formats heading into Week 18 (Feb. 25-March 3).

Young ready for Philadelphia

News: Philadelphia small forward Thaddeus Young (hamstring) will return Sunday at New York, reports the team's official site. Coach Doug Collins said before the game that Young was healthy enough to suit up for the Sixers. He's been out since Feb. 4 due to his hamstring injury.
Analysis: Young is back for Philadelphia and that makes him viable once again for use in Week 18 (Feb. 25-March 3). Fantasy owners should be a little hesitant about getting him in the starting lineup, but if he plays well Sunday, that would do much to quiet any concerns. Young is averaging 14.9 points and 7. Rebounds per game on the season, and should be considered a strong starting Fantasy option in all formats, when healthy.

Young on verge of return

News:  Sixers forward Thaddeus Young hopes to be able to return from his hamstring injury as early as Sunday against the Knicks, after being out since Feb. 4 with the injury. Young has missed five games in a row, but told PhillyBurbs.com Saturday that he is hoping to return. He has been telling reporters for a few days that he has been ahead of schedule.
Analysis: The 24-year-old looks likely to return during Fantasy Week 18 (Feb. 25-March 3), even if he cannot make it back by Sunday. Fantasy owners should be a little hesitant about getting him in the starting lineup, but if he plays and plays well Sunday, that would do much to quiet any concerns. Young is averaging 14.9 points and 7. Rebounds per game on the season, and should be considered a strong starting Fantasy option in all formats, when healthy.

Young ahead of schedule

News: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young was able to practice in a limited fashion Monday and could be back on the court as early as Sunday against the Knicks, coach Doug Collins told PhillyBurbs.com. Young, who has been sidelined since Feb. 4 with a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring, was able to do some shooting and run on the elliptical machine. “Hopefully, the timetable is a little shorter than it was supposed to be and I can come back on the court sooner rather than later,” Young said. “I just want to get back on the court helping my teammates. It sucks to be out there watching.”
Analysis: Collins admitted that Young is "farther along than I thought," which is a very encouraging sign that the 24-year-old could be back on the court sooner rather than later. However, the best-case scenario for his return would be Sunday night at New York, so owners should plan on keeping him reserved for at least one more week. Young was averaging 14.9 points and a career-best 7.4 rebounds prior to his injury, making him a solid start in most formats when healthy. Lavoy Allen will continue to see a boost in playing time in his absence.

Thaddeus Young

Young knocked out three weeks

News: Philadelphia forward Thaddeus Young will be sidelined for the next three weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain, the team announced Tuesday. Young underwent an MRI on Tuesday after leaving Monday's game against Orlando in the second quarter with the injury. The procedure confirmed he will be out until at least the end of the month. "It's bad news, man," 76ers guard Nick Young said Monday. "Thad's one of our anchors on our team. Lose him for a couple of games while we're trying to make a push, it's tough." Lavoy Allen is expected to receive a boost in playing time during Young's absence.
Analysis: Young, who needed assistance as he hobbled back to the locker room, was averaging 14.9 points and 7.4 rebounds prior to the injury as he was enjoying the finest all-around campaign of his career. "It felt like a rubber band popping," he said about this injury. Young had started all 47 games for Philadelphia this year -- matching his total from the previous three seasons combined. If there was a silver lining to the injury, it comes with the NBA All-Star break on the horizon so he won't miss too many games while parked on the sideline. Fantasy owners should keep him reserved in all formats at this point.

Young will 'be out a while' with hammy

News: 76ers coach Doug Collins told reporters following Monday's contest against the Magic that forward Thaddeus Young will "be out for a while" with his strained left hamstring. Young sustained the injury during second quarter of the 78-61 win while diving for a loose ball. He remained on the court for several minutes before being escorted back to the locker room by team trainers. Young finished with six points and five rebounds prior to leaving the contest and he is scheduled to undergo a MRI on Tuesday. "Thad's the one guy on our team that will dive for those loose balls," Collins said. "He lays himself out and, unfortunately, he got hurt on that play."
Analysis: Everyone knows hamstring injuries can be a bit tricky to return from and based on coach Collins' initial statement, it sounds like the 76ers are expecting Young to miss some time moving forward. This would be a huge blow to Philadelphia as well as Fantasy owners as Young is averaging 15.7 points and a career-best 7.5 rebounds, while starting all 47 of the 76ers' games at power forward. Lavoy Allen replaced Young in the lineup Monday night and will likely see the majority of the minutes at the four-spot in his absence. Fantasy owners should continue to check back for the latest details concerning Young's status. The 24-year-old can be considered a viable start in all formats when healthy.

Young leaves with hamstring strain

News: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young left Monday's game against the Magic with a strained left hamstring. Young sustained the injury during the second quarter and was ruled out for the remainder of the game. He finished with six points and five rebounds prior to leaving the contest and is being listed as day to day.
Analysis: Hamstring injuries can be a bit tricky, so Fantasy owners will have to monitor his status moving forward to see when he will be able to get back on the court. Hopefully it won't be for too long as Young has been putting up career numbers for the 76ers thus far. The 28-year-old remains one of the better stat-sheet fillers in the league so consider him a viable option in all formats when healthy.

Young finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds in the 89-80 win on 11 of 17 shooting from the field. He also added two assists and two steals to his stat line, while logging 43 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Young was finally put back in the starting lineup full time this season and the 76ers and Fantasy owners are reaping the benefits. The 24-year-old is averaging more than 15 points a game for just the second time in his career while also pulling down a career-best 7.5 rebounds. He is also giving owners his customary steal and block per game and remains one of the better all-around producers in the league. Leave him active in all formats moving forward.

Young also posted four steals and a block in the 103-100 loss. He went 11 for 19 from the field, missing his lone attempt from downtown, and made 1 of 2 free throws in the defeat.

He is averaging 17 points with eight rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocks in the previous five contests. Young is also shooting 52 percent over that span. The 24-year-old has become a serious option again with his increase in scoring so keep Young active in the majority of Fantasy formats.

He is averaging 18.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while shooting 52.3 percent from the field over that four-game span. Thaddeus with loud night vs. Thunder

News: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young posted his best performance of the season Saturday against Oklahoma City, as he scored 29 points on 13 of 23 shooting in a 116-109, overtime loss.
