(3/3/2015) Lakers guard Nick Young has been ruled out of Tuesday's game at Charlotte, reports the team's official website.

It will be the fourth straight game Young has missed while dealing with a knee issue. Guard Wayne Ellington will start in place of Young.

Young's next opportunity to play will be Wednesday at Miami, but coach Byron Scott was skeptical over Young's availability for the game, reports the Los Angeles Daily News. Young said he is expecting to return for Sunday's game against the Mavericks.

The Lakers are 8 1/2-point underdogs.

"No, it should be all right after the break. Just get a ton of rest and get away," Young said, per NBA.com.

Young left Wednesday with a left peroneal tendon strain, located outside the ankle behind the fibula.

"It wasn't his ankle… It was another part of his ankle," coach Byron Scott said after the game. "I don't know exactly what it is, so I guess we'll just see how he feels when we get back."

Young is averaging 13.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game this season. He's also shooting 36.5 percent from the floor, including 36.7 percent from downtown.

Peroneal tendons are located outside the ankle behind the fibula. Young appeared to roll his ankle late in the third quarter and headed to the locker room to be checked out. His night comes to a close with nine points on 4 of 12 shooting, including 0 of 4 shooting from behind the arc, as well as two rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench.

(2/4/2015) Lakers forward Nick Young cleared the air with coach Byron Scott and will play Wednesday night against the Bucks, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

Young only logged nine minutes last week against Houston because Scott reportedly did not like his effort and body language. Young, who was dealing with an ankle injury, was medically cleared to play Sunday against the Knicks, but Scott chose to keep him sidelined because he didn't complete a full practice.

Young practiced on Tuesday and is set to play Wednesday.

"It was about to be bigger than what it was," Young said. "I just wanted to know what was going on. But we're all right."

I'm not trying to be like how they did Pau (Gasol) or how they did Dwight Howard," Young said, referring to the philosophical differences with former players and former coach Mike D'Antoni. "I just wanted to talk and get a good understanding."
