Young has not played since Feb. 22 and Lakers coach Byron Scott said Young is progressing from his injury.

"From Gary's standpoint, it's getting better," Scott said. "But it's one of those things where he still has pain. But it's not as bad. The swelling has gone down to the point where you can barely see it. But there's something in there going on."

Lakers unsure when Nick Young (knee) will return

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(3/8/2015) After ruling guard Nick Young out of his seventh straight game Sunday, Lakers coach Byron Scott admitted he's not sure when Young will return, reports the Los Angeles Daily News.

"It might take another week, or two or three," Scott said. "[Nick] doesn't know. It depends on how fast he heals. We're not in a hurry. He still has some pain in there. That's the biggest concern."

Young is dealing with swelling in his left knee, which Scott said is similar to the non-displaced patellar fracture and bone bruise Young sustained last year.

"He had the same thing last year in a different area," Scott said. "But that was slow as well. They thought it would be something that wouldn't take too long. But I guess he is a slow healer. This is a different spot. At first I thought he should have been back a lot sooner. But now listening to what the doctors and Gary are saying, they're saying this is something that won't go away as fast as we thought it would. As long as he has that swelling in there, we won't mess with it."
