News: Center Darryl Watkins was sent from the Hornets to the 76ers as part of Wednesday's deal involving Dorell Wright and Jarrett Jack. Watkins averaged 4.6 points and 5.4 rebounds in five games for New Orleans last season. He was immediately waived by Philadelphia.
Analysis: Watkins hadn't played in the NBA since 2007-08 before catching on with the Hornets last season but poses minimal Fantasy upside at age 27. Continue to ignore him in all formats going forward.
News: The Hornets announced on Wednesday that they have signed center Darryl Watkins to a 10-day contract that will keep him with the team through the end of the season. Watkins had spent the previous part of the season playing professionally in Cyprus, and was last seen in the NBA in 07-08, as a member of the Spurs. The team waived Chris Johnson to make room for Watkins. With the Hornets short on frontcourt depth, Watkins made his Hornets debut on Wednesday, grabbing 13 rebounds and scoring two points in 29 minutes.
Analysis: Watkins has been with a number of teams in camp, as well as in the D-League, but has never been able to catch on. Dont expect him to make any sort of impact down the stretch, and continue to ignore him in all formats.
News: The Cavaliers have trimmed their roster to 15, waiving guards Andre Barrett and Russell Robinson and center Darryl Watkins on Thursday.
Analysis: Watkins played in China last season and has only played nine games in the NBA. Even if he signs elsewhere, he won't get enough playing time to make an impact in Fantasy.
News: The Spurs waived Devin Green, Salim Stoudamire and Darryl Watkins this week as they continue to trim their roster down for the regular season.
Analysis: These players are not in a position to help Fantasy owners and as such should not be owned in any format. Leave them on the waiver wire until further notice.
News: The Sacramento Kings signed swingman Dahntay Jones on Monday and waived center Darryl Watkins. Watkins, a rookie from Syracuse, played in nine games with the Kings.
Analysis: In those nine games, Watkins averaged 1.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. Obviously, he won't have Fantasy value unless he signs on with another team -- and, even then, it'll only be minimal.
