Pacers' Vogel hopeful C.J. Watson, C.J. Miles will play Friday

(2/26/2015) Pacers guard C.J. Watson is dealing with an ankle injury, but coach Frank Vogel is hopeful he will be available to play in Friday's game against the Cavaliers, reports VigilantSports.com.

Vogel is also hopeful forward C.J. Miles will be able to play Friday. Miles was not able to practice Thursday because of a sore foot.

(1/30/2015) Pacers coach Frank Vogel said Thursday that point guard C.J. Watson will likely spend the remainder of the season playing through soreness in his feet, the Associated Press reports.

Watson started and played 36 minutes in Thursday's win over the Knicks, scoring just seven points on 3 of 9 shooting. He also racked up six rebounds, five assists and one steal. The Pacers are set to host the Kings Saturday.

(1/23/2015) Pacers point guard C.J. Watson will not return to Friday's game against the Heat due to a sore left groin, the team announced. Watson was initially deemed questionable to return before being ruled out for the second half at halftime.

Watson played eight minutes before exiting with the injury, tallying two points on a pair of free throws and missing his only shot from the field. He'll have an off-day before the team's next game Sunday.


Pacers nearly at full strength for Friday's game against the Celtics

(1/9/2015) The Pacers have announced Roy Hibbert(left ankle), Ian Mahinmi(plantar fascia), C.J. Watson(foot) Rodney Stuckey (groin) are all available for Friday's game against the Celtics. All were listed as questionable heading into the game. 

Mahinmi is still recovering from a torn plantar fascia and is "not quite in game shape," according to coach Frank Vogel. "(We) likely won't use him, but he's available."

George Hill remains out with a groin injury. Indiana is currently a 4-point favorite against Boston.

It will be the fourth straight game Hill has missed while dealing with a left groin strain. Guard Donald Sloan’s role is expected to increase during Hill’s absence.

(1/6/2015) The NBA announced Tuesday that Pacers guard C.J. Watson was fined $5,000 for violating the league’s anti-flopping rules for the second time this season.

His second violation occurred with 7:07 remaining in the first quarter of Indiana's 105-101 win against the Jazz on Monday. Watson threw himself on the ground after getting pushed in the back by a Jazz player during a rebound attempt.

Watson is averaging 10.9 points, 4.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game through 18 appearances in 2014-15.

Coach Frank Vogel indicated that Watson hasn't been ruled out for the remainder of the road trip, so it's possible the point guard could resume action Monday against Utah or Wednesday against Golden State. He's averaged a career-best 11.0 points and 4.2 assists in 17 games while shooting 46.1 percent from the field.

Watson just missed out on what would have been his first double-double of the season, racking up season highs of nine rebounds and three steals while also dishing out five assists in 30 minutes. The 17 points only follow a 23-point performance two weeks ago as his best scoring output of the season. Watson will look to keep rolling Monday against the Bulls.

(12/23/2014) Pacers coach Frank Vogel told the media guard George Hill will make his season debut during Tuesday’s game against the Pelicans.

Hill has not played this season while dealing with a knee and quadriceps injury. Vogel said Hill will come off the bench and only receive a minimal amount of playing time.

Hill was the starting point guard for the Pacers last season, but guard C.J. Watson has been starting in Hill’s place.
