Thunder GM: We'd like to bring back Kyle Singler

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(5/6/2015) Thunder small forward Kyle Singler has expressed a desire to stay in Oklahoma City. And general manager Sam Presti hopes to oblige.

"Finding a player in free agency that can shoot close to 40 percent from the three-point line over the course of a season, embrace various roles, and stand as one of your most fundamental players at 6-9 is unlikely when over the cap and tax," Presti told The Oklahoman. "Therefore, we are hopeful we will be able to keep working with him."

Singler performed well after a deadline deal brought him to Oklahoma City. He finished the season shooting a career-best 39.8 percent on three-pointers.

Thunder F Kyle Singler: I want to play for the Thunder next season

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(4/16/2015) Thunder forward Kyle Singler said he wants to return to the team next season, reports The Oklahoman.

The Thunder acquired Singler in a trade with the Pistons at the trade deadline and he thinks the feeling to return is mutual.

"This is where I want to be," he said. "And I think they want me here."

Van Gundy, Pistons should now focus on G Reggie Jackson

(3/19/2015) With the Pistons all but eliminated from the postseason, nothing is more important at this point in their final games for coach Stan Van Gundy than the progress of guard Reggie Jackson, writes the NBA.com.

The Pistons sent guards Kyle Singler and D.J. Augustin to the Thunder on Feb. 19, clearing the path for Jackson to take over the point guard role. But Jackson's performance to this point has been inconsistent.

"The big thing with him is his aggressiveness and pushing the ball in transition and being aggressive on his pick and rolls," Van Gundy said. "I think when he does that, he's pretty effective. When he's just sort of playing with the ball and a little more tentative, then he runs himself into problems. He over dribbles at times, gets down in traffic. When he's on the attack north-south, I think he's very, very good."

Jackson may have to compete next season with Brandon Jennings, who's been out since late January with a ruptured left Achilles tendon.

Enes Kanter and Kyle Singler to start for Thunder

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(2/21/2015) The Thunder will start C Enes Kanter and F Kyle Singler at the Hornets on Saturday, according to Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman

Kyle Singler will also get the start for the Thunder, in place of injured Kevin Durant

The Thunder are 7.5 point favorites.

Presti: Thunder C Enes Kanter 'has his best basketball' ahead

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(2/19/2015) Thunder general manager Sam Presti addressed the three-team trade executed Thursday that brought center Enes Kanter, point guard D.J. Augustin and small forwards Kyle Singler and Steve Novak to Oklahoma City.

"We're extremely pleased to welcome Enes, Steve, D.J. and Kyle. We feel we have added talent, toughness and commitment to our roster and we are excited about the depth and versatility these additions provide," Presti said. "It is a rare opportunity to acquire a player like Enes who will be an added dimension to our frontcourt and has his best basketball in front of him. Kyle, D.J. and Steve are professionals of the highest order and players that we believe will be committed now and in the future."

Presti also thanked departing players Kendrick Perkins, Reggie Jackson and Grant Jarrett in the statement. In addition, the Thunder traded a protected 2017 first-round pick to Utah and acquired an unprotected 2019 second-round pick from Detroit.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Singler battling for time

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/16/2013) In the battle to be the Pistons' for minutes in the Pistons' wing rotation second-year pro Kyle Singler appears to be edging out rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Singler started his third game in a row in Chauncey Billups' absence Wednesday against the Bulls, while Caldwell-Pope continues to come off the bench.

Singler played just 12 minutes Wednesday due to foul trouble, however, opening up a big role for Caldwell-Pope as one of just four guards on the active roster. Singler scored six points on 2 of 5 shooting, while Caldwell-Pope put up 18 points on 6 of 17 shooting in 40 minutes of action.

Singler is averaging 9.0 points per game on 51.9 percent shooting in three preseason games, while playing 19.3 minutes per game. Caldwell-Pope has taken on a much bigger role despite coming off the bench, and is averaging 10.3 points per game in 28.3 minutes. Still, he is shooting just 13 for 48 and 4 for 20 from three-point range.

Singler's a part of the future

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(4/24/2013) Expectations were not high for Pistons rookie forward Kyle Singler coming into this season, so his emergence as a starter certainly proved to be a pleasant surprise amidst another lost season. Singler started 74 of 82 games this season, averaging 8.8 points per game on 42.8 percent shooting. He added 4.0 rebounds and 0.9 3-pointers per game, and looks to have secured a spot in the starting lineup moving forward.
