News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried was able to get back on the court for Game 2 of Denver's first-round playoff series against the Warriors Tuesday night. Faried, who was held out of Game 1 due to a sprained left ankle, struggled in the 131-117 defeat. He finished with just four points and two rebounds in the loss, while logging 21 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Faried really struggled to get into the flow of the game coming off the bench Tuesday night and he most likely is still not at 100 percent. Denver will need the 23-year-old to be his usual productive self if the Nuggets are going to advance past the first round. Faried put up a productive 11.5 points and 9.2 rebounds on the year during his second year in the league, but we were expecting a bit more from him on the season. Still, the second-year forward still has a ton of upside, so owners should plan on targeting Faried in the middle rounds of most draft formats next fall.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried told the Denver Post that he will be back on the court for Game 2 of Denver's first-round playoff series against the Warriors on Tuesday night. Faried, who has been nursing a sprained left ankle, dressed for Game 1 but never left the bench. "Yeah. You can't sit me down for that long. I get frustrated, I get mad, I start getting a hissy fit," he said when asked if he will be back for Game 2.
Analysis: It sounds like Faried will be back patrolling the paint for Game 2, which could spell trouble for the suddenly shorthanded Warriors. The 23-year-old was Denver's top rebounder this season (9.2 rpg) and he also averaged 11.5 points on 55.2 percent shooting from the field. Still, we expected a bit more from Faried this season -- especially with the way he closed out his rookie campaign. However, the second-year forward still has a ton of upside, so owners should plan on targeting Faried in the middle rounds of most draft formats next fall.
News: As expected, Denver forward Kenneth Faried was held out of Game 1 of Denver's first-round playoff series against the Warriors as he continues to nurse an sprained left ankle. Faried, who was ruled active and dressed for the contest, remains listed as day to day, according to the team's official website.
Analysis: Faried has been able to partake in some drills at practice, but his ankle is still a bit tender. While the 23-year-old did put up a productive 11.5 points and 9.2 rebounds on the year, we were expecting a bit more from Faried during his second year in the league. However, he does have a ton of upside, meaning his best days have yet to come. Fantasy owners should plan on targeting Faried in the middle rounds of most draft formats next fall.
News: The Nuggets official team website reports that Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried reported improvement in his sprained left ankle and remained optimistic about playing in Denvers playoff opener Saturday against the Warriors. I feel physically better, he said Thursday. I can walk without a boot. I can walk barefoot now. Its just getting better and better each day. Like Ive said, if I can walk, I can play, so Im just going to see how good the tape job is when game time comes. Asked if that meant he would try to play in Game 1, Faried said: Hopefully. Im not making any promises. If Im cleared, Im playing. However, the Denver Post reports that Nuggets executive Masai Ujiri said on a local radio show that he doubts Faried will play in Game 1. But Ujiri said that the two days off before Game 2 could give Faried enough rest to be ready for Tuesday. Faried sprained his ankle when he stepped on the foot of Trail Blazers rookie Will Barton while driving to the basket on Sunday. X-rays were negative and he has been getting several hours of treatment daily.
Analysis: Before the injury, Faried started all 80 games for Denver, and hes averaging 11.5 points and a team-leading 9.2 rebounds. If he plays then he's an excellent option in all playoff leagues. Faried is a solid Fantasy forward in all formats when healthy.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried will miss the final two games of the regular season after an MRI on Monday revealed a sprained ligament in his left ankle, the Denver Post reports. The exam did not reveal any fractures and he could possibly return for the start of the NBA playoffs on Saturday. Faried will be sidelined for Monday's game at Milwaukee and Wednesday's contest against Phoenix.
Analysis: Faried suffered the injury during the first quarter on Sunday's game against Portland and needed to be carried off the court in what was the latest setback for the already hobbling Nuggets. It's an abrupt end to his stellar second season as he posted averages of 11.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Faried also played in all 80 games as he emerged as a reliable threat for Denver, registering 31 double-doubles. With his season over at this point, Fantasy owners should plan on targeting the 23-year-old in the middle rounds of all drafts for the 2013-14 campaign.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried was forced to leave in the first quarter of Sunday's matchup against the Trail Blazers after spraining his left ankle. Faried landed awkwardly on his ankle while attempting a shot and had to be carried off the court. The team announced X-rays taken were negative and he is being officially listed as day to day. Coach George Karl told reporters after the game that Faried will undergo an MRI on Monday. "I tried to power up and stepped on Will's foot when I tried to go. Just twisted it. Im relieved it ain't a break."
Analysis: The Nuggets have been getting hammered by injuries in recent weeks, so we would be very surprised if Faried returned before the start of the playoffs - especially for Monday's tilt. While the 23-year-old has played well this season, most were expecting to see a bit more from him during his second year in the league. However, with Denver being so deep, minutes are tough to come by as Faried is only seeing 28 minutes per game on the year. As long as he retains his starting role, he will be worth scooping up in the middle rounds in most formats next season.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried played a huge role Thursday against the Mavericks, as his minutes are starting to increase again. Faried scored 12 points on just 4 of 11 shooting, but had a monstrous game on defense and on the glass. Faried grabbed 19 rebounds and had four blocks and a pair of steals in 38 minutes, in a 95-94 win.
Analysis: Faried is still not playing a full-time role for the Nuggets on a nightly basis, however that has to be expected, given their depth. He is averaging 12.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game over the last five. Faried has been disappointing overall recently, but his overall play is still pretty solid for most Fantasy owners. Consider him a solid Fantasy option down the stretch.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried played fewer than 20 minutes in back to back games leading up to Tuesday's game against the Thunder, but he may have earned an opportunity back into a full-time role. Faried played 34 minutes, while Wilson Chandler, who had been taking plenty of his minutes at power forward, suffered a separated left shoulder that will have him out of the lineup for a yet-to-be-determined amount of time. Faried had a solid performance, scoring 13 points and snagging 15 rebounds, in a 114-104 win. Faried added three blocked shots in the game.
Analysis: Faried has been going through his least effective stretch since early in his rookie season recently, averaging just 8.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in his previous five. Fortunately, it looks like he has a chance to snatch a big role again down the stretch. Faried is a double-double waiting to happen, as long as he gets sufficient playing time; Faried is averaging 14.2 points and 11.8 rebounds per game in 30 contests in which he has gotten at least 30 minutes. If Chandler is forced to miss an extensive amount of time, Faried would once again be a worthy starting option in all Fantasy formats.
News: Denver small forward Kenneth Faried just missed a double-double Monday against Phoenix. Faried played 20 minutes and scored 10 points with nine rebounds. He was 4 of 9 from the floor and added an assist and block.
Analysis: Faried has been a nightly double-double over his last handful of games and he is giving Fantasy owners good value as he has all season. He remains a solid start across the board.
News: After scoring just four points with four boards his last time out, Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried was much improved on Monday against the Hawks. He finished with 10 points and hauled in 13 rebounds in the 108-88 win. He went 5 for 11 from the field while playing 26 minutes. Faried also posted a steal in the victory.
Analysis: Faried entered Monday averaging just 9.4 points and 6.2 rebounds in the previous five contests so it was good to see him get back on track. He has made some solid progress in his second season out of Morehead State and should be able to average a double-double for years to come. Given his consistent production for owners, keep Faried active in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried failed to score in double figures for the third consecutive contest on Friday night against the Wizards. He finished with just six points and four rebounds while playing 17 minutes. Faried also posted a steal and a block in the 119-113 loss. He went 2 for 4 from the floor and made both of his free throws.
Analysis: Faried saw his fewest minutes since Jan. 28 on Friday and has scored a combined 20 points in the last three games. He is still shooting well during that stretch but has not been taking many attempts for the Nuggets. The 23-year-old should get back on track sooner rather than later so keep an eye on his progress going forward. Despite his recent slumping, Faried remains a viable option in the majority of Fantasy formats for his ability to post a double-double on a nightly basis.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried registered 14 points and 12 rebounds during Denver's 118-114 triple-overtime loss at Boston on Sunday night. Faried shook off concerns about a knee injury suffered during his previous game and drained 5 of 10 attempts from the field in 39 minutes of playing time. It was the third consecutive contest he hit on at least 50 percent of his shots as he's averaged 17.3 points during that stretch.
Analysis: Faried appears to have avoided an injury as he was able to post his third double-double over the past four games. The young power forward has been sensational to open the month of February, averaging 15.6 points and 10.0 rebounds during the first five contests. He has also connected on 60.4 percent of his attempts in that span. Faried continues to be a dominant force on the glass and should remain active in all Fantasy formats.

He also chipped in with an assist, a blocked shot and a steal while logging 30 minutes of game action. Faried told the Denver Post after the game that he will play Sunday against the Celtics.
Analysis: Faried fell three rebounds shy of his third consecutive double-double and finished with just four points in the second half. It seems as if Faried will be healthy enough to play Sunday against the Celtics, which is a sigh of relief for Fantasy owners. The 23-year-old continues to set the pace down low for the Nuggets and is averaging 16.6 points and 9.4 rebounds on 64.7 percent shooting from the field over his last five games. Fantasy owners should view him as a strong starting option in the most formats moving forward.

In fact, the 23-year-old is averaging 16.5 points and 10.0 rebounds on 66.7 percent shooting from the field over his last four games. Faried is nearly averaging a double-double thus far in February and should be viewed as a solid starting option in most Fantasy formats while he is heating up.

Analysis: Faried has increased his scoring and rebounding in his second season in the NBA and has been shooting the lights out of late. He is averaging 12 points with 8.6 rebounds, a steal and a block in the previous five contests on 62 percent shooting. While the 23-year-old can be inconsistent at times, Faried remains a more-than-viable option in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried recorded 11 points and nine rebounds during Denver's 121-93 victory over Sacramento on Saturday night. Faried shrugged off his first scoreless outing of the season Wednesday at Houston and sank 4 of his 6 attempts from the field. He also came just one rebound shy of his 20th double-double of the season. He mustered 27 minutes of playing time and also added two assists and a block.
Analysis: Faried experienced a rare miss against the Rockets as he finished without a point for the first time since last February. But he displayed his usual effectiveness Saturday and drained at least 50 percent of his attempts for the fourth time in his past five games; he's now averaging a 54.8 clip during that span. Faried has been a steady contributor for points and rebounds throughout the season and should remain active in most Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried turned in another productive performance as he posted his 19th double-double of the season during Sunday's contest against the Thunder. Faried went 7 of 12 shooting from the field and converted only 2 of 6 free throw attempts as he scored 16 points and grabbed 10 boards in a 121-118 overtime victory. He also chipped in with four assists, four blocked shots and a steal while logging 40 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Faried has scored in double figures in all but four of his first 11 games in January. He is averaging 12.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in January despite a few inconsistent performances. He has a ton of upside and is a threat to pick up a double-double on a nightly basis, so consider him a solid starting option in most Fantasy formats heading into Week 13 (Jan. 21-27).
News: After totaling 36 points in his last two games, Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried had a hard time getting his shots to fall during Sunday's contest against the Warriors. Faried struggled throughout most of the night and was held to just nine points and 10 rebounds in a 116-105 victory. He went 4 of 12 shooting from the field, including 1 of 1 from the charity stripe, and also chipped in with 10 rebounds and a blocked shot while logging 30 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Though his rebounding is back up, Faried has been a bit inconsistent as a scorer as of late, as he has been held to single-digit scoring in three of the past six contests. Still, the 23-year-old is averaging 13.2 points and 11.2 rebounds over his last five games. He has a ton of upside and is a threat to pick up a double-double on a nightly basis, so consider him a solid starting option in most Fantasy formats heading into Week 12 (Jan. 14-20).

Analysis: Faried has been struggling with his scoring recently, averaging just 11.7 points per game over the last 10, though he is also grabbing 10.0 rebounds per game in that span. Faried has improved his play from a year ago, and already has 15 double-doubles in 35 games -- he had just 12 in 46 games as a rookie. Faried can be counted on for close to a double-double on a nightly basis, and remains a strong starting option in most Fantasy formats.

Analysis: The 23-year-old Faried continues to rebound well for the Nuggets with 10 per game on the year and 11 per game over his last five. He's also averaging 13 points and 1.6 steals per game over his most recent five-game span. When healthy, Faried has played well enough to matter in most Fantasy formats.

He also added six rebounds, three assists and a steal while logging 25 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Faried has cooled off since grabbing 19 rebounds against Dallas on Dec. 28, and has averaged just 11 points and seven rebounds on 56.5 percent shooting from the field over his last three games. Still, Faried has been a solid source of rebounds and has posted 14 double-doubles this season, which is already two more than his total from last season. Consider him a viable starting option in most Fantasy formats moving forward.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried nearly grabbed 20 boards for just the second time this season, instead, he manged to pick up his 13th double-double of the season during Friday's contest against the Mavericks. Faried scored 11 points on 5 of 10 shooting from the field and grabbed 19 rebounds in a 106-85 victory. He was 1 of 4 from the charity stripe and also added four steals and one assist in 33 minutes of work.
Analysis: Faried has been a dominant source of rebounds this season and has posted six double-doubles this season. He is averaging 11.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game and shooting 47.1 percent from the field in 14 December games thus far. Faried has a ton of upside and should be kept active in all formats heading into Week 10 (Dec. 31-Jan. 6).

Analysis: Faired's offensive game continues to be all over the place as his 23-point effort Wednesday marked just the third time he has scored in double figures over his last five games. However, he is putting up 10.8 rebounds over that stretch while shooting 50.9 percent from the field. Continue to roll with Faried in the majority of formats moving forward.

Analysis: Faried was slumping a bit earlier in the month but has seemed to turn things around over his last few games. He is averaging 12.4 points and 9.8 rebounds over his last five contests and has posted double-digit rebounding totals in three of those games. Faried should remain active in the majority formats now that he is starting to produce again.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried turned in another underwhelming performance in Denver's win over the Pacers Friday night. Faried, who is averaging 12.8 points and 10.4 rebounds on the year, finished with just four points and seven rebounds in the 92-89 victory. He made just two of his seven field-goal attempts while logging 21 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Faried has been in a bit of a slump of late as he has seen a huge dip in production over the past week or so. In fact, he has only scored in double digits once over his last five games and is averaging 9.0 points and 6.8 rebounds over that stretch on just 42 percent shooting from the field. While Fantasy owners can't be happy about his latest lull, Faried should be able to get himself back on track before too long. Fantasy owners should continue to roll with the 23-year-old in the majority of formats heading into Week 7 (Dec. 10-16).
News: Denver forward Kenneth Faried had a big performance on Monday in a loss at Utah. Faried scored 21 points to lead his team as he went 8 for 12 from the field over 36 minutes. Faried grabbed nine rebounds and added two assists, one steal and a block in the performance.
Analysis: Faried just missed a second straight double-double but averaging just under 13 points per game on the year he's not going to score like this every night. The 23-year-old out of Morehead State is averaging a double-double per game this season and has really broke out for Fantasy owners. He should remain active in all Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried continued his assault on the glass Thursday, as he posted a career-high 20 rebounds against the Heat. Faried also scored 16 points on 5 of 16 shooting in the game, giving him his fifth double-double in a row. He blocked a shot, had two steals and turned the ball over three times in 36 minutes in a 98-93 loss. He went 6 for 10 from the free-throw line, the second time this season he has made at least half of his attempts while shooting 10 times.
Analysis: Faried got off to a slow start to the season, totaling eight points and 12 rebounds over the first two games of the season. He has fully turned things around with double-doubles in six of the last seven games. Faried is now averaging 14.1 points and 11.8 rebounds per game, with 1.0 blocks and .9 steals. Faried is shooting just 51.2 percent from the free-throw line, but his overall production has been so good that you can overlook the issues at the charity stripe. Faried should be consider a high-end Fantasy option in all formats, as he is a double-double machine right now.
News: Denver forward Kenneth Faried posted his fourth consecutive double-double Monday night in a loss at Phoenix. Faried scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds over 30 minutes. Faried, who added a blocked shot, went 6 of 7 from the field. He's gone 14 for 20 in his last two games.
Analysis: Faried is averaging 13.5 rebounds per night over his last four and is around 11 per game on the season. He's hitting his shots lately and should really now be active in just about every Fantasy league and format.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried notched his second double-double of the season during Denver's contest against the Rockets Wednesday night. Faried finished with 16 points and 16 rebounds on 7 of 14 shooting from the field. He pulled down three of his rebounds in the final minutes of the 93-87 win and blocked a layup by Chandler Parsons. "I just felt the whole game that Kenneth had the spirit that he was going to win this game tonight," Denver coach George Karl said. "He was pretty incredible." He is now averaging 17.6 points and 12 boards over his last three games.
Analysis: Faried was picked by us among others as one of our breakout options this season, but had many Fantasy owners up in arms after his slow start. However, people forget sometimes that the NBA season is a marathon not a sprint and Faried has since gotten himself back on track. The 22-year-old remains a double-double threat everytime he steps on the court and should thrive as an everyday starter in coach George Karl's up-and-down offense. Fantasy owners should continue to view Faried as a high-end option in all formats at this point in the season.
News: Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried was able to bounce back after a rough shooting night his last time out and turned in a solid performance against the Heat Saturday night. Faried picked up his first double-double of the season as he finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds in a 119-116 defeat. He shot 11 of 15 from the field and missed his only free throw attempt while chipping in with an assist and a steal in 36 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Faried has put his two rough games behind him and is starting to adjust playing with his new teammates. He has scored 30 points and has picked up 24 rebounds through his first three games and is known as a solid source for rebounds. If he gets his game together, he could be viewed as a potential breakout candidate this season, so keep him active in the majority of Fantasy formats moving forward.
News: Denver forward Kenneth Faried got the start at power forward on Friday in Orlando. Faried couldn't help the Nuggets take down Orlando as he struggled over 20 minutes. He managed just one made field goal on three attempts for two points. Faried grabbed five rebounds and added a block for Denver.
Analysis: Faried is averaging four points per game after two contests with six rebounds. The 22-year-old is not yet contributing as we expected he would as a starter for Denver and that should worry some Fantasy owners. He's definitely giving value on the rebounding end but Faried will need to improve his offensive game to really be worth using in most Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried has only played in 46 games (39 starts) during his brief NBA career, but he is already creating nightmares for opposing coaches entering his second season. Faried received additional playing time in the second half of his rookie campaign and averaged 8.4 rebounds per game in that span, including a stellar 3.5 boards on the offensive glass. "You've got to be committed to keep a body on him, and if you're not committed, you're going to pay the price," Warriors coach Mark Jackson told the Denver Post. "And I don't think it's just one guy's responsibility. A guy that talented and gifted at crashing the boards, you need your perimeter guys to gang rebounds and go in and get those long ones."
Analysis: Faried, the leading rebounder in NCAA history, enters the 2012-13 season brimming with potential as he is expected to maintain his role in the starting lineup. he spent the offseason working with former NBA superstar Hakeem Olajuwon as he aims to improve on his average of 10.2 points per game. He finished with 12 double-doubles last season. "I think he's now more confident offensively," Denver coach George Karl said, "though I still want him to be more consistent with the basics. ... The way we play will give our big guys a chance to score if they play the right way." Faried is already viewed as a potential breakout candidate for the upcoming season and is worth a mid-round selection in most Fantasy drafts.
News: It took a while for Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried to earn his coachs trust -- and a spot in the rotation -- during his rookie season. Nuggets coach George Karl began giving him marginal minutes at the beginning of June and soon learned he could trust the rookie out of Morehead, which earned Faried a spot in the starting lineup during the second half of the season. Faried ended up finishing the season so strong that he ended up third in Rookie of the Year voting while placing on the All-Rookie first team after the season.
Analysis: Faried averaged just 22.5 minutes per game but still managed to put up 10.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game while shooting 58.6 percent from the field. A larger role moving forward seems assured, as he averaged 27.4 minutes per game in the postseason while posting three double-doubles in seven games against a much larger Lakers front line. The NCAAs all-time rebounding leader posted 12 double doubles during the season and should be primed for an even bigger role in his second season, so consider Faried a low-end Fantasy starter who is worth targeting in the later middle rounds.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried played only 24 minutes on Monday, however that was more than enough time to thoroughly dominate the Warriors, as he put up game and career highs in both scoring and rebounding with 27 and 17, respectively, to lead Denver to a 123-84 blowout win. Faried shot 12 of 18 from the field in the game, doing almost all of his damage inside of the paint, while also controlling the boards on both sides of the floor, with seven offensive rebounds to go with 17 overall. Faried also added one assist, two steals and a block while sitting most of the second half.
Analysis: Faried became the 13th player and first rookie to have at least 25 points and 15 rebounds in a single game this season, and was the only player to do so in fewer than 30 minutes of playing time. He has shown excellent potential as a rookie, and the only thing stopping him from being a high-end Fantasy option has been playing time. Full-time minutes will come with experience, and in the meantime he is averaging 11.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in just 24.3 minutes since the All-Star game, emerging as a viable Fantasy option in all formats.
News: The Nuggets have stuck with rookie Kenneth Faried in their starting power forward spot, however he continues to struggle to find a consistent role on the team, as he played just 23 minutes on Wednesday against the Raptors. Faried continues to play well, however, as he scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds in those limited minutes while shooting 4 of 6 from the field in the Nuggets 105-96 loss.
Analysis: Faried continues to impress when given the opportunity, as he is averaging 12.6 points and 6.0 rebounds in just 23.8 minutes per game over the last five games, however he simply cant do anything to get consistent, full-time minutes. The Nuggets are one of the deepest teams in the league, even with a couple of injuries recently, however at this point Faried has been one of their best players. Fantasy owners would love to see Faried be given a larger role, however they will have to settle for what theyre getting right now, which is still a viable starting Fantasy option.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried continues to find full-time minutes hard to come by, but after Saturdays performance against the Celtics he may have forced the issue. Faried played just 24 minutes in the game, however it was more than enough time to put up 18 points on 5 of 5 shooting while grabbing 16 rebounds in leading the Nuggets to a 98-91 win. Faried became the first player since 1985 to have at least 15 points and 15 rebounds nin a game without missing a shot in fewer than 25 minutes of game time. Faried sat for the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter while the Celtics cut a 14-point lead to four, before putting up six points and grabbing four rebounds in the games final four minutes to preserve the lead.
Analysis: It took a while for Faried to earn a spot in George Karls rotation, however he has quickly established himself as arguably the most effective rookie big man on a per-minute basis. Faried has appeared in just 25 games this season, averaging 19.5 minutes per game, however Karl would be hard-pressed to justify not increasing his role moving forward. Faried oozed potential and shows it when given the chance, so Fantasy owners should feel confident picking him up and using him as a low-end Fantasy option with great upside down the stretch.
News: The Denver Post reports that Nuggets rookie forward Kenneth Faried continues to play well. In 12 games this season, he has played 15 or more minutes. In those games, he averaged 11.9 points and 8.8 rebounds. But the question for Faried is what happens with Faried when all the Denver big men get healthy? Nene returned from injury Monday, and he said: "It's slow. I'll progress. I played 10-15 minutes; the next game is 15-20. I can't just go and play. That would be crazy. Offensively, it takes a while. It's hard. I didn't practice at all, just one time, 3-on-3 and went out and played the game. Defensively, it's easier to think quick, but offensively you need to have the confidence, and that will come."
Analysis: Faried should continue to get his share of minutes until Nene works himself up to speed. For now, keep Faried active, but keep an eye on what happens with Nene as he gets closer to 100 percent. We hope Faried can stay hot, but Nene might take away plenty of production when healthy.
News: Denver forward Kenneth Faried logged a double-double in just 17 minutes of action on Wednesday night against Portland. He made all six of his field-goal attempts and went 1 for 2 at the foul line, finishing with 13 points. He also grabbed 10 boards for the Nuggets and made a steal to help them earn the 104-95 win. Faried even caught the attention of veteran center Marcus Camby. "That Faried kid was blocking shots and running down the court, getting layups, playing with a lot of energy and playing with a lot of passion," Camby said. "That's something we were lacking tonight."
Analysis: Faried has been stepping up with Nene out of action. He's averaging 7.8 points and 8.0 boards per contest over his last five games. While his numbers and playing time will likely go down once Nene is healthy, coach George Karl will have to give some serious consideration to keeping Faried in the rotation. This is something for Fantasy owners to keep an eye on, but for now the rookie is only worth taking a flier on in deeper category-based formats.
News: Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried set another personal best on Monday night against the Timberwolves. After setting a new scoring mark his last time out, the rookie hauled in a career-high 14 rebounds in the 103-101 overtime win and finished with 10 points. He was a perfect 4 for 4 from the field and converted both of his free throws. Faried also chipped in with three blocks and two steals while playing 36 minutes.
Analysis: Faried has stepped up big time for the Nuggets of late and is giving them production in their banged-up frontcourt. He is averaging 10.6 points with 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in his last five contests, and is shooting a solid 58 percent over that span. Keep an eye on the injuries in Denver going forward to see if he is going to continue to see some run. Faried is worth a look in deeper Fantasy formats at this point.
News: Denver forward Kenneth Faried scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed 10 boards on Friday night versus Memphis. Even though he came off the bench, Faried led his team in rebounding. He shot 9 for 15 from the field in his 25 minutes of action. The Nuggets would still lose the contest, 103-102, despite Faried's career night.
Analysis: Faried has scored in double figures in three straight games for the Nuggets as they've been depleted by injuries. Over his last five outings, Faried is averaging 10.8 points and 7.0 boards. His role will likely diminish once Denver gets healthy in the frontcourt again but until then, consider Faried a low-end option in deeper category-based formats.
News: Nuggets F Kenneth Faried got the start again on Wednesday night against the Mavericks and scored in double figures for the second straight contest. He finished with 12 points and three rebounds in the 102-84 loss. He went 4 for 7 from the field and converted all four of his free throws while playing 21 minutes. Faried also posted a steal in the defeat.
Analysis: Injuries have forced Faried into the starting lineup and he has done a decent job for a rookie thus far. He is averaging nine points with 6.3 rebounds in his last four contests, and is shooting 48 percent over that span. His role will likely diminish once Denver gets healthy in the frontcourt again but until then, consider Faried a low-end option in deeper category-based formats.
News: Nuggets F Kenneth Faried has had an interesting week; he earned his first-career start on Monday and then earned a DNP -- coach's decision in the next game. He returned to the starting lineup on Thursday against the Warriors, playing 22 minutes and establishing new career highs in scoring and rebounding, as he grabbed 10 boards and scored eight points on 3 of 7 shooting in 22 minutes. He had one assist and one block in the game, which the Nuggets lost 109-101.
Analysis: Faried played in just his seventh game on Thursday and saw his most extensive playing time. His performance could earn him more minutes going forward -- especially with all of the injuries on Denver -- so keep an eye on the situation. Faried was an excellent rebounder in college, and has carried it over on a per-minute basis, but until he sees a more consistent role in the NBA, continue to ignore him in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: With both Nene and Timofey Mozgov out due to injury, Nuggets F Kenneth Faried received the first start of his career on Monday night against the Rockets. He scored six points and hauled in a career-high eight rebounds in the 99-90 loss. He went 2 for 4 from the field and made 2 of 4 free throws while playing 18 minutes. Faried also chipped in with a blocked shot in the defeat.
Analysis: Faried played in just his sixth game on Monday and saw his most extensive playing time. His performance could earn him more minutes going forward -- especially with all of the injuries on Denver -- so keep an eye on the situation. Faried was an excellent rebounder in college but until he sees a more consistent role in the NBA, continue to ignore him in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: Nuggets rookie F Kenneth Faried received rare playing time on Wednesday, registering a season-high 11 minutes as the Nuggets blew the Kings out 122-93. He managed to score five points on 2 of 4 shooting while grabbing an impressive six rebounds three of them offensive and a block.
Analysis: Faried was known as an incredibly strong rebounder and active rebounder coming out of college; however he has not had an opportunity to show that off consistently, as the deep, offensive-minded Nuggets have barely used him. Faried has plenty of potential and shows flashes when given rare chances, however he is buried too deep on the bench to be on Fantasy rosters at this point.
News: Nuggets rookie F Kenneth Faried was known as the countrys best rebounder during his college career at Morehead State. And in his first two opportunities to show his skills at the NBA level, he did not disappoint, grabbing 11 rebounds in 26 minutes over the Nuggets two preseason wins over Phoenix. He also scored 20 points on eight of 13 shooting and may have earned himself a spot in the rotation. Asked by the Denver Post for one word to describe the rookie forward, Nuggets F Chris Andersen went with Bounce. He continued, I think he tried to dunk on the whole arena. Hes very talented, hes always asking questions, hes in the gym early and working hard, he wants those minutes and he deserves it.
Analysis: Farieds offensive game is a work in progress, but he grabbed eight offensive rebounds in the two games, so if he keeps that up come regular season, hell be able to feast on easy put backs. Hes an undersized power forward, but like his idol Dennis Rodman, Faried simply has a knack for getting to the right spot on the boards. Hes a sleeper, but dont be surprised if Faried emerges as one of the better per-minute rebounds by the end of the season. You can ignore him on Draft Day, but keep him on your radar and monitor his playing time.
News: The Nuggets drafted Morehead State forward Kenneth Faried with the 22nd pick of Thursday's NBA Draft. He is 6-foot-7, 225 pounds and was the college game's dominant rebounder last season. He averaged 14.5 boards as a senior, after two straight seasons when he averaged 13 per game. "George Karl, he told me, 'I love guys who bring energy and hustle to the table," Faried said of his discussion with the Nuggets coach, according to the Denver Post. "If you rebound, trust me, you're going to find your way on the floor. I think I can make an immediate impact." Asked why he'll be a great rebounder at this level, Faried said: "Because I'm not scared. I have a never-quit attitude and I'm going to keep going until I come up with the rebound."
Analysis: Faried also ranked third national in field goal percentage (62.3 percent) and led the nation in double-double performances (29). He will likely be a part of the power rotation for the Nuggets and could see increased playing time if Kenyon Martin is gone. Faried should only be drafted with a late-round pick in deep season leagues, but he's worth drafting late in all dynasty/keeper leagues and in rookie-only formats.
