Celtics part ways with John Lucas, Malcolm Thomas

(9/29/2014) The Celtics have parted ways with point guard John Lucas and power forward Malcolm Thomas over the weekend, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Both players, who had non-guaranteed contracts, were acquired by Boston from Cleveland on Thursday as part of a five-player trade.

(9/25/2014) The Cavaliers have acquired swingman Keith Bogans from the Celtics, in exchange for the non-guaranteed contracts of John Lucas, Erik Murphy and Malcolm Thomas and Dwight Powell on Thursday, according to Marc Stein of ESPN. Boston will also receive a pair of future second round picks, and will have the option of waiving any of the players they acquired with non-guaranteed deals.

Cavaliers, Jazz agree to four-player trade

(7/22/2014) The Jazz have agreed to trade John Lucas, Malcolm Thomas and Erik Murphy to the Cavaliers in exchange for Carrick Felix, $1 million and a future second-round pick, Yahoo! Sports reports.

The trade gives the Cavaliers three non-guaranteed contracts, which could help with the logistics of a potential Kevin Love acquisition. Felix signed a four-year deal last offseason and is still due more than $1.75 million over the next two seasons.


Jazz claimed recently waived Malcolm Thomas

(1/25/2014) The Jazz claimed forward Malcolm Thomas on waivers Saturday, two days after he was waived by the Spurs. Thomas appeared in just one game for the Spurs, scoring two points and adding nine reboubnds in 15 minutes.

Thomas has spent most of the season in the D-League, averaging 15.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game in 12 appearances.

(1/23/2014) The Spurs waived forward Malcolm Thomas Thursday, to clear up a roster spot. Thomas appeared in just one game for the Spurs since signing Dec. 3, as he spent most of his time in the D-League. He averaged 15.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game for the Austin Toros.

Thomas hasn't appeared in a game with the Spurs this season. De Colo has scored 20 points on 8 of 20 shooting in 11 appearances with the Spurs.
