Rockets guard Jason Terry will return next season

(5/26/2015) Rockets veteran guard Jason Terry is planning to return to basketball next season, according to ESPN.com.

Terry, who is set to become a free agent this offseason, was asked after the game if he is considering playing again in 2015-16.

"One hundred percent," Terry said before Monday's tipoff.

Terry averaged 7.0 points and 1.9 assists per game in the regular season.

(5/10/2015) Rockets guard Jason Terry had his ejection from Friday's game against the Clippers downgraded to a flagrant one foul upon further review by the league, according to the Houston Chornicle.

Terry was ejected in the fourth quarter after shoving Blake Griffin from behind.

"It's one of those games," Terry said before the ruling had been made official. "It's playoff basketball. I took a hard foul. I just have to be real careful because I don’t want to get ejected in a game that could cost us in a close ballgame."

Terry was ejected in the fourth quarter after he pushed Clippers forward Blake Griffin from behind. Terry finished the game with 13 points and three assists.

Terry played 24 minutes, scored eight points and grabbed a pair of rebounds in the Rockets victory.

(3/23/2015) Josh Smith is the latest Rockets player to join a crowded injury list, as he is questionable for Monday's game against the Pacers with a sprained ankle, according to the team's injury report. However, Smith went through shootaround and said he plans to try and play. 

Smith joins Patrick Beverley (elbow bursitis) and Trevor Ariza (illness) on the questionable list, while Jason Terry (hamstring) is probable. Dwight Howard remains doubtful with a knee injury. 

The Rockets are 1-point underdogs against the Pacers.

Beverley, who is averaging 10.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 54 games this season, was considered questionable for the contest with elbow bursitis. He's played through the injury in the last two games. 

Terry, who was considered probable for the game, had missed the last two with a hamstring injury. He is averaging 6.7 points and 1.9 assists per game.

The Rockets are currently 8-point favorites.

Beverley, who was dealing with elbow bursitis, was considered questionable for the contest. He has played in nine of Houston's last 10 games, despite dealing with a nagging foot injury.

Jason Terry, however, is unlikely to play in the game with a hamstring injury. He has played nearly every game for Houston this season and is averaging 6.7 points and 1.9 assists per game.

(11/2/2014) With Patrick Beverly sidelined, the Rockets gave guard Isaiah Canaan the start over Jason Terry Saturday night against the Celtics. Coach Kevin McHale told reporters he had Terry come off the bench because he wanted to keep his minutes limited.

"I try to keep Jet's (Terry's) time down some, so if he starts, time seems to get away from me a lot quicker," McHale said, per the Associated Press. '"We'll bring in Jet as needed for balance."

Canaan finished with nine points on 3 of 11 shooting from the field, adding four rebounds, two assists and two steals while logging 35 minutes of game action. Terry finished with seven points on 2 of 5 shooting and 1 of 1 from the charity stripe while logging 23 minutes off the bench in a 104-90 victory.

"I am a guy who wants to get out and go," Terry said. "(The training staff) is holding me back a little and strengthening the leg, getting me in condition before I go out and get after it. I have another week of slow progression but then I should be ready to go next weekend."

(9/1/2014) The Associated Press reports that the Rockets and the Kings have reached an agreement to a trade that will sent guard Jason Terry to Houston in exchange for two second-round draft picks and guard/forward Alonzo Gee.

Terry scored only 4.5 points per contest in 35 games with Brooklyn before being shipped to Sacramento. He did not suit up for the Kings after the trade because of a left knee injury.
