Hornets cut Alexander

(11/13/2010) Joe Alexander, the eighth overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft, was released by the Hornets on Saturday, according to the team's official website.

Low scoring coming from Alezander

(10/11/2010) Hornets F Joe Alexander did not have one of his better nights in Sunday's preseason game against the Magic. He scored just two points in 17 minutes on 1 of 7 shooting. Alexander, who got the start, also recorded three rebounds and had three shots blocked in the 135-81 loss.

Warrick, Alexander head to Chicago

(2/18/2010) The Bucks acquired guard John Salmons from the Bulls and sent the expiring contracts of forwards Hakim Warrick and Joe Alexander to a Bulls team looking to make a move in free agency this offseason. Salmons has played in 51 games for Chicago this season, averaging just over 12 points per game. He is scheduled to make $5.8 million next season if he doesn't opt out of his contract. "He's a good pro guard," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said. "He's been a solid player for quite a while, and we feel like we still need to solidify one of our perimeter spots, especially with Michael (Redd) out. So it made sense." The Bucks also obtained the Bulls' second-round picks in 2011 and 2012, along with the option to switch first-round picks in the 2010 draft - provided that Chicago's pick isn't in the top 10. Warrick has played in 48 games for Milwaukee this season, averaging 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Alexander, whom the Bucks took with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2008 draft, has struggled to make the jump to the NBA and currently is playing for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League.

Alexander shipped down to NBDL

(1/21/2010) The Bucks have assigned Joe Alexander to the NBDL where he will play for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Alexander, 23, was drafted by the Bucks with the eighth overall selection in the 2008 NBA Draft.

Alexander out against Lakers

(1/11/2010) Milwaukee F Joe Alexander was inactive in Sunday's contest with the Los Angeles Lakers because of a hamstring injury.

Alexander working out with team

(1/7/2010) According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Bucks F Joe Alexander practiced with the team on Thursday. The Bucks' second-year forward practiced for the first time since injuring his right hamstring in an unofficial session in late September. He was able to run and jump without pain as he took the initial step toward a return to the team's active roster. "He looked good," said Bucks coach Scott Skiles. "He moved around really well. You wouldn't have been able to pick him out, that he was a guy who hadn't practiced in a long time. It was his first contact and he went through everything."

Alexander may still contribute this year

(11/8/2009) According to The Sports Xchange, The Bucks didn't pick up the third-year option on Joe Alexander's contract, but he could still be a contributor to the team this season. At least that's the opinion of Bucks coach Scott Skiles. Skiles said that once Alexander is fully recovered from a hamstring injury -- he is expected to be sidelined until late December -- he would be receptive to using the 6-foot-8 combo forward. "It would depend on how we're doing," Skiles said. "It would depend on our other injury situation. It would depend on how Joe is playing. "If Joe comes back and gets healthy and plays well in practice and it's a situation where we feel like we need him, absolutely, I'd put him in for sure."

Alexander out with hamstring injury

(11/3/2009) The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports Bucks forward Joe Alexander did not play during the preseason or practice with the team due to a right hamstring injury. The Bucks announced on Oct. 22 that Alexander had aggravated the hamstring injury and would be out eight to 12 weeks. He also missed time in training camp last season due to a groin injury.

Alexander not much of a factor
