News: Phoenix power forward Michael Beasley has finally rejoined the team after missing three games due to the birth of his daughter, ArizonaSports.com reports Monday. Beasley should play Monday against the Rockets.
Analysis: Beasley scored 25 points over 32 minutes on April 5 against Golden State but dropped just three points the next game on 1 of 11 shooting before his three-game absence. Who knows what to expect from Beasley, who is averaging 10.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game on the year, in his return. We would avoid him for now in most Fantasy formats.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley missed his third straight game Saturday against the Timberwolves as he remains away from the team, reports the Arizona Republic. Beasley is back at home with his family after his wife gave birth to his first child.
Analysis: Beasely remains one of the more frustrating Fantasy options out there as he can't seem to put together any long stretches of productivity. He dropped 25 points on the Warriors last Friday night, but then finished with just three points two days later during a Suns' loss to the Hornets. The former No. 2 overall pick has once again been a bust this season and should only be active in deeper formats for the stretch run.
News: The Arizona Republic reports that Suns forward Michael Beasley returned to Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon after learning of the birth of an 11-pound daughter. Beasley should be available for Wednesday's game at Dallas.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should continue to monitor Beasley's status prior to Wednesday's game. If he does play as expected against the Mavericks then consider him a low-end Fantasy option in the majority of leagues.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley was held out of Tuesday's contest against the Suns as he remained away with the team for the birth of his daughter. There has been no timetable announced for his return, according to the team's official website.
Analysis: Beasely remains one of the more frustrating Fantasy options out there as he can't seem to put together any long stretches of productivity. He dropped 25 points on the Warriors last Friday night, but then finished with just three points during the Suns most recent loss to the Hornets. The former No. 2 overall pick has once again been a bust this season and should only be active in deeper formats for the stretch run.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley remains inscrutable, as he scored 14 points off the bench against the Kings Thursday, just one night after scoring just two points. Beasley played 24 minutes off the bench in the game, scoring his 14 on 7 of 14 shooting. He added eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block, while turning the ball over just once in a 114-103 loss.
Analysis: If you feel comfortable relying on Beasley, go ahead, but his performance this season is not deserving of that trust. Beasley is averaging 9.9 points per game in the month of March, but has reached double figures just eight times in 14 games. We expected a breakout from Beasley as a possible focal point in Phoenix, but they have clearly had no interest in featuring him consistently. The former No. 2 overall pick is averaging 10.0 points per game on the season, and can be left for just the deepest Fantasy formats down the stretch.
News: Phoenix forward Michael Beasley has scored in double figures in four straight games entering Wednesday's contest against the Wizards. Beasley, who had 21 points on Saturday against Washington, has scored 10 points in each of his other three games over his most recent four-game stretch.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging just over 10 points per game on the season but continues to maddeningly show his upside. The incredible thing is that he's still just 24 years of age. Still, owners have come to realize they will not receive consistent production from him this season. He should only be starting in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley saw 16 minutes on Monday against the Nuggets. He was 3 of 7 from the field and scored eight points. He grabbed four rebounds and added an assist.
Analysis: Beasley can have some big nights but more often than not he's just disappointing. Leave him for the deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley, who injured his elbow Friday against the Celtics, was limited Sunday night against the Spurs. Beasley logged just three minutes of game action in the second quarter and did not see the court in the second half. He finished scoreless with a rebound in a 97-87 defeat.
Analysis: Beasley has been held to single-digit scoring in five of the last six games and could be losing his spot in the rotation to the recently acquired Marcus Morris. We'll have to keep an eye on his role off the bench moving forward. The 24-year-old has only averaged 9.0 minutes in his last three games. He should be viewed as merely a low-end Fantasy option for now.
News: Phoenix forward Michael Beasley was pulled for a poor performance in the fourth quarter of Friday's game against Boston, but afterwards complained of elbow pain. X-rays were taken which came back negative, reports the Arizona Republic.
Analysis: Beasley scored just six points and was in single digits for the fourth time in his last five games, averaging 7.8 PPG over that span. He's not seeing many minutes and it appears, elbow or not, the Suns are not happy with his play. He is day to day, but a low-end Fantasy option until he starts playing well again.
News: After scoring just eight points in the first game after the All-Star break, Suns forward Michael Beasley had another poor performance on Wednesday against the Warriors. He finished with three points on 1-of-4 shooting in the 108-98 loss. Beasley made his lone attempt from downtown while playing nine minutes off the bench and also posted a rebound.
Analysis: Beasley saw his least amount of playing time since Jan. 11 on Wednesday and struggled with his shot for the second game in a row. The 24-year-old continues to frustrate owners with his inconsistent play but the Suns made some roster moves so hopefully that will open up more minutes for Beasley. Keep an eye on the situation going forward but Beasley remains more of a low-end Fantasy option at this point.
News: For the second time in two weeks, Suns forward Michael Beasley had a strong performance at the expense of the Lakers Tuesday, however this time it came in a losing effort. Beasley scored 18 points on 7 of 15 shooting, while adding a three-pointer and three free throws. He grabbed five rebounds with one assists and three turnovers in 33 minutes, in a 91-85 loss. Beasley is averaging 19.7 points per game in three contests against the Lakers.
Analysis: Beasley has been playing better ball lately, and he seems to relish the opportunity to take on the Lakers porous defense. Beasley has thrived since Alvin Gentry stepped down as the teams head coach, as he is averaging 15.3 points per game over 12 games, compared to just 10.7 for the season as a whole. Assuming Beasley can continue his recent run of solid play, he is once again a relevant Fantasy option moving forward.
News: After going off with 24 points his last time out, Suns forward Michael Beasley spiraled back down with a another mediocre performance Tuesday night against the Grizzlies. Beasley went 2 of 7 shooting from the field, including 0 of 1 from downtown, and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. He finished with just six points, five rebounds and an assist while logging just 21 minutes of game action in a 96-90 victory.
Analysis: Beasley continues to endure one of his worst seasons in the league as he is averaging a career-worst 10.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game this season while shooting 39.7 percent from the field over that span. Despite being promised by coach Lindsey Hunter that he'd see more minutes on the floor, the 24-year-old is averaging 11.3 points and 5.3 rebounds over his last three games. Consider him a decent option in deeper Fantasy formats as long as he continues to see solid minutes.
News: Behind a promise of more minutes from coach Lindsay Hunter, Suns forward Michael Beasley had a big game on Wednesday night. Beasley scored a game-high 27 points off the bench over 34 minutes as the Suns topped the Lakers in Phoenix. The forward shot 12 of 20 from the field and was 1 for 1 from 3-point range. He grabbed six rebounds and picked up five steals in the performance.
Analysis: Hunter said Beasley has earned more minutes and he gave it to him Wednesday. All of a sudden he's averaging 18.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals and almost a 3-pointer per game over his last five contests. He's been over 25 points in two of his last three contests. Beasley could become a hot pickup in all Fantasy formats if this continues.
News: Suns power forward Michael Beasley has apparently earned himself some more minutes with his recent play, according to interim head coach Lindsay Hunter Tuesday, reports ArizonaSports.com. Beasley has seen just 21.8 minutes per game over his four contests with Hunter as coach, but he should start seeing more time as he has played well over that stretch.
Analysis: Beasley, who is averaging just 10 points per game over 22 minutes per night on the year, is getting 16 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting almost 51 percent from the field over his last four games with Hunter as the coach. He appears to be attempting to turn over a new leaf -- again -- and could pick up value with more minutes. That said, we've seen this before so take it with a grain of salt. Beasley should be worth a look in deeper Fantasy formats at the moment.
News: After scoring a season-high 25 points his last time out, Suns forward Michael Beasley cooled off during Sunday's contest against the Mavericks. Beasley went 4 of 10 shooting from the field, including 1 of 2, and 3 of 3 from the charity stripe. He finished with 12 points and four rebounds in a 110-95 defeat. He also chipped in with an assist and a blocked shot while logging 20 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Beasley has come back down to earth after a huge performance Saturday night, but has still managed to score in double figures in five of his last seven games. He is averaging 14.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game over that stretch. While the 24-year-old has once again been a major bust this season, it appears he will get a chance for a fresh start with coach Lindsay Hunter taking the reigns. He is shooting 48.3 percent from the field over that seven-game period and should be worth a look in deeper Fantasy formats heading into Week 14 (Jan. 28-Feb. 3).
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley turned in another productive performance during Wednesday's contest against the Kings. Beasley finished with 19 points in the 106-96 win on 8 of 15 shooting from the field. He made his lone 3-point attempt and also added six rebounds, one assist and one steal to his stat line, while logging 22 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Beasley has now scored in double figures in three of his last four contests, which sadly has been his most productive stretch for quite some time now. While the 24-year-old has once again been a major bust this season, it appears he will get a chance for a fresh start with coach Lindsay Hunter taking the reigns. Hunter said he will change up the Suns' current rotation and based on Beasley's recent play, he may see his minutes increase or maybe get another chance to start. However, owners should continue to stay in a holding pattern until we see how Phoenix will distribute minutes moving forward. Leave Beasley reserved for the time being.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley saw more than 20 minutes on the court for the second straight game on Monday night against the Thunder. He scored 14 points and hauled in 11 rebounds -- with five coming on the offensive glass -- in 26 minutes off the bench. It was his second double-double of the season and his first since Nov. 7. Beasley went 5 for 14 from the floor, including 1 for 4 from downtown, and converted 3 of 6 free throws. He also posted two blocks and an assist in the 102-90 loss.
Analysis: Beasley saw a combined 24 minutes of playing time in seven games before playing 21 minutes on Saturday and again received some decent playing time Monday. He has scored 34 points with 17 rebounds in those two contests and could be working his way back into the rotation in Phoenix. Owners know the 24-year-old has the talent to be a viable option in Fantasy but his inconsistencies and off-the-court troubles have hindered his value. Keep an eye on his progress going forward as Beasley might be worth a look in deeper formats again if he continues to play like this.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley could not even get on the floor Tuesday against the Bucks. The 23-year-old was a healthy scratch for the second time in four nights, as he has fallen out of the rotation completely. He has played just 25 minutes total over the Suns last five games, appearing in just three.
Analysis: Beasley has been unable to get going at any point this season, making the Suns three-year commitment to him in the offseason look even worse than it did at the time. He is shooting just 37.2 percent from the field, and it appears as if he has lost all value. He remains worth holding on to only in deep Fantasy formats at this time.
News:The Arizona Republic reports Suns forward Michael Beasley is trying to remain optimistic despite his dwindling role. Beasley played just 10 minutes Saturday against Minnesota and was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career Monday against the Thunder because coach Alvin Gentry said we had a good rotation going." Maybe its my fault, Beasley said. Im going to watch film like Ive been doing. Im going to evaluate and critique myself and go from there. There aint nothing I can do but look forward and up. Im already at the bottom so there really isnt too many places I can look. Im just ready for 2012 to be over, dating back to even last season. Im going to keep coming into this game optimistic. I put enough hours in and take enough jump shots. Im in the gym pretty much longer than anybody in the NBA. Im going to stay optimistic and trust my game.
Analysis: Beasley is having a brutal year despite being the Suns' third-highest paid player. He is averaging career lows in points (10.2 ppg) and rebounds (3.5 rpg). His shooting has been a real disaster. He is shooting a career-low 37.3 percent. Beasley did mention he has been battling a sore pinkie finger. Im battling the knickknacks, Beasley said. I just closed my fist for the first time four days ago. That was pretty much half of it. I shoot about 1,000 jump shots every day. I shoot 300 or 400 before the game. Theres not really too much I can do on my behalf. If there is, I will. Right now, it's up to Beasley to force his way back into the Suns' rotation. His numbers have been so bad that Fantasy owners can't afford to keep him in active lineups. It might be worth stashing him on your bench, but no one would blame you for giving up on Beasley if you needed the roster spot.
News: Suns power forward Michael Beasley, who missed his last game with an illness, returned with a productive performance as he scored in double figures for the third time in December during Wednesday's contest against the Knicks. He scored 10 points on 5 of 11 shooting from the field, and grabbed seven boards in a 99-97 defeat. He also chipped in with two assists, a block and a steal in 22 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Beasley, has now been counted to come off the bench for the Suns and has averaged just 8.2 points per game, after averaging 12.2 as mostly a starter in November. Unfortunately, he has been unable to give them the offensive production they were hoping for. At this point, Beasley is not worth starting outside of the deepest of Fantasy formats.
News: Suns power forward Michael Beasley (illness) is expected back in the lineup Wednesday against the Knicks, reports the team's official site. Beasley missed Sunday's game due to the illness.
Analysis: Beasley was supposed to be a focal point for the Suns this season, after they signed him to a three-year, $18 million deal this offseason. Unfortunately, he has been unable to give them the offensive production they were hoping for. Beasley is not worth starting outside of the deepest of Fantasy formats for now.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley was ruled out of Sunday's contest against the Clippers due to an illness, according to the team's website. Beasley, who is averaging 10.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game this season, is listed as day to day.
Analysis: Beasley was supposed to be a focal point for the Suns this season, after they signed him to a three-year, $18 million deal this offseason. Unfortunately, he has been unable to give them the offensive production they were hoping for. He'll have three days to rest before Wednesday's game against the Knicks, so we'll continue to monitor his progress moving forward. Even if healthy, Beasley is not worth starting outside of the deepest of Fantasy formats for now.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley was held below double figures for the seventh time in nine games in the month of December Wednesday, in a 121-104 win over the Bobcats. Beasley was limited to just seven points on 3 of 5 shooting in 14 minutes. He added one assist, one rebound and one turnover in the game.
Analysis: Beasley was supposed to be a focal point for the Suns this season, after they signed him to a three-year, $18 million deal this offseason. Unfortunately, he has been unable to give them the offensive production they were hoping for. He is averaging just 8.6 points per game in nine games in the month of December. At this point, Beasley is not worth starting outside of the deepest of Fantasy formats.
News: Phoenix forward Michael Beasley had a team-high 21 points and four rebounds off the bench during the Suns' 117-99 loss to the Clippers on Saturday. Beasley, who was pulled from the starting lineup for the first time this season, connected on 7 of his 11 attempts from the field, which included a season-high four treys (on seven shots). He also added five assists while committing three turnovers in 30 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Beasley entered the game shooting a woeful 37.4 percent from the field as coach Alvin Grenty grew frustrated with the 23-year-old's lackluster shooting. But he took a positive step in a reserve role after checking in for the first time with three minutes remaining in the first quarter. His 63.6 percent clip from the field marked just the fifth occasion this season he drained more than half of his attempts as he finished one point shy of his season high. Fantasy owners shouldn't expect this type of production from Beasley on a consistent basis and is still viewed as a risky option in most formats for now.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley appears to be headed to the bench, reports the Arizona Republic. Beasley, who is averaging 11.3 points and 3.9 rebounds on the year, finished with just nine points on 3 of 12 shooting from the field in the Suns loss to the Mavericks Thursday night.
Analysis: "Could possibly be," was coach Alvin Gentry's words when asked by reporters if he was considering benching Beasley, which doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement for the 23-year-old. After being picked by many -- including us -- to be a possible breakout candidate heading into the year, Beasley has tanked. He is averaging just 7.6 points over his last five games and is shooting just 31 percent from the field. Even if Beasley does retain his starting gig, owners should leave on the bench heading into Fantasy Week 7 (Dec. 10-16).
News: Suns power forward Michael Beasley was held to single-digit scoring for the eighth time this season during Sunday's contest against the Knicks. Beasley was held in check and scored just nine point and grabbed four rebounds in a 106-99 defeat. He went 4 of 10 shooting from the field, including 1 for 1 from downtown, and failed to get to the charity stripe. He also added two assists and two steals in 21 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Beasley was benched in the fourth quarter yet again after the Suns were down by 17 through the first three periods. He has cooled off as of late and has scored just 23 points combined through his last three games, two of which he was held under 10 points scoring. His rebounding has also been on the decline this season as he is averaging 4.2 boards. At this point, Fantasy owners should consider him as a worthy option in deeper formats heading into Week 6 (Dec. 3-9).
News: Suns power forward Michael Beasley continued to struggle and was held to single-digit scoring for the second game in a row Friday night against the Hornets. Beasley was held in check and scored just two points on 1 of 6 shooting in a 111-108 overtime victory. He made his only shot in the first quarter and was held scoreless throughout the rest of the contest. Beasley chipped in with three assists, a rebound and a block in 17 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Beasley has cooled off as of late and has lost some of his minutes on the floor to Jared Dudley and P.J. Tucker. Beasley has averaged just 18 minutes in the last two games while going 3 of 11 from the field. His rebounding as also gone down lately as he has only posted one double-double all season long. Beasley continues to disappoint and remains a worthy Fantasy option in deeper formats in hopes that he starts putting it all together.
News: Phoenix power forward Michael Beasley scored in double figures Monday against Denver for just the second time in his last five games. Beasley scored 16 points on 7 of 15 shooting with a 3-pointer over 25 minutes. He grabbed two rebounds and added two assists for the Suns in the win.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 13.3 points per game this year but just 12.0 over his last five games. That comes with one 21-point effort. He continues to be inconsistent putting the ball in the basket and his rebounding has struggled as well. Beasley remains a worthy Fantasy option in deeper formats but he really needs to start putting it all together.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley was finally able to get himself on track during Phoenix's contest against the Bobcats Wednesday night. Beasley, who was averaging 13.3 points entering the contest, finished with 21 points on 7 of 21 shooting from the field in the 117-110 win. He also notched his first double-double of the season in the victory as he finished with 15 rebounds to go along with seven assists, three blocks and one steal, while logging 43 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Beasley was able to turn in his first monster stat line of the season Wednesday night after sputtering along over the first few games. Charlotte usually has that effect on opposing players and hopefully Beasley can use his latest performance as a spring board moving forward. Most are expecting big things from the 23-year-old during his first season in Phoenix but so far he has been plagued by poor shooting numbers. The former No. 2 overall pick in the draft is shooting just 36 percent from the field (28 for 78) so far and is just 6 for 21 from downtown (29 percent). However, owners saw thy type of Beasley is capable of even when he struggles to make shots, so continue to roll with the former Kansas State standout in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley's struggles continued in Monday night's contest against the Heat. Beasley connected on just three of his 13 shot attempts in the 124-99 defeat and finished with a season-low seven points. He went just 1 for 5 from downtown and added one rebound, one assist, one steal and one block to his stat line, while logging 29 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Beasley has struggled to get himself going with the Suns thanks in large part to his poor shooting numbers. The 23-year-old has shot under 40 percent from the field in three of his four games thus far and failed to score in double digits in two of those contests. The good news for Fantasy owners is coach Alvin Gentry has told Beasley to keep on shooting the ball, so don't expect him to stop chucking the ball up. Beasley is a career 45.5 percent shooter from the field and we would expect his shooting numbers to come back near his career average before long. Despite his slow start, Fantasy owners should continue to roll with the former Kansas State standout in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley shot the ball 18 times but managed to finish with just 16 points against the Pistons Friday night. His 16 points was a team-high as he snatched up seven rebounds in a 92-89 victory. Beasley shot 7 of 18 from the field and missed both of his attempts from beyond the arc in 29 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Beasley has taken a lot of flack in his career for his playing habits, but now that he is with the Suns, his coach Alvin Gentry has been encouraging him to shoot. That said, he has made 9 of 27 through his first two games to start the season. Beasley, who has averaged 15.1 points on 13.4 shots per game in his career, will need to improve his shooting numbers even if he is asked to pass less. He is considered as a solid Fantasy forward in most formats moving forward.
News: Suns forward Michael Beasley has taken a lot of flack in his career for his playing habits; he has been prone to shoot too much and pass too little. According to Beasley -- and apparently his new organization -- that has not been the problem at all. Theyre telling me to shoot, shoot, shoot. I pass up far more shots than I should. Coach (Alvin Gentry) really encourages me to shoot. Everybody does, even the team. The more I get comfortable, the more old habits will leave, he told the Arizona Republic Friday. This is the first time Ive really been encouraged to shoot even more than I already do, and we all know that I shoot a lot. My last two teams, Ive been asked to try to be a passer/playmaker.
Analysis: Well, maybe we all had it wrong for years. Shooting and scoring have never been the issue for Beasley, who has averaged 15.1 points on 13.4 shots per game in his career. Beasley has averaged just 1.4 assists per game in his career, so one wonders what might happen when he is asked to pass even less. Still, the Suns are obviously going to lean on the fifth-year forward for much of their offense, and he might end up thriving in the wide-open offense Phoenix has run recently. He is coming off a terrible season in Minnesota, but Beasley is a terrific buy-low candidate for this season. He is being take on average with the 74th pick in most Fantasy formats, but if the team truly does plan on relying on him for scoring, that may be undershooting his value by a lot. Beasley is worth targeting in the middle rounds on Draft Day in most Fantasy formats.
News: The Suns officially signed forward Michael Beasley to a three-year contract Friday, worth approximately $18 million. Beasley was an unrestricted free agent, after the Timberwolves opted to not extend a qualifying offer to him.
Analysis: Beasley's play took a step back last season, as he often found himself on coach Rick Adelman's bad side. He averaged 11.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, while playing a career low 23.1 minutes per game. He should be able to earn a starting spot in Phoenix, and if they play the same fast-paced style they have become known for, Beasley will have plenty of opportunities to score. This is a good situation for him, so consider Beasley a No. 4 Fantasy forward with tons of upside on Draft Day.
News: The Timberwolves declined to extended qualifying offers to both forwards Michael Beasley and Anthony Randolph Saturday, making them unrestricted free agents. Minnesota saved about $12.1 million in cap space for free agency, as they cleared cap holds for both players by setting them free. They could both return as restricted free agents, however the team loses the ability to match any contract offer they receive. For Beasley, this move does not come as a surprise, as the team was not expected to bring him back after two inconsistent seasons.
Analysis: Beasley has disappointed in four seasons since being the No. 2 overall selection in the 2008 NBA Draft. He averaged 11.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while playing a career-low average of 23.1 minutes per game last season after losing his starting job. Becoming a free agent is the best thing that can happen to the 23-year-old, as he would have a choice of where he would play. He never really worked in the lineup next to Kevin Love in Minnesota, so hopefully he can find a role that will fit better. He remains an incredibly talented young player, so Fantasy owners should target him as a late-round option on Draft Day with considerable upside depending on where he lands.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley is a restricted free agent, and it looks like his time with the team has run out after two inconsistent seasons. The Timberwolves are not expected to extend an $8 million qualifying offer, meaning Beasley will likely become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Beasley told reporters after the end of the season that he is not worried about what the Timberwolves' plans are for him. "I'm not really putting too much thought into it, not really putting too much energy into it, because it's one of those things that I can't control," Beasley said. "I'm going to approach my summer as if I'm coming back next season, and I'm going to try to come back in the best shape I can, come back the best player I can be."
Analysis: Beasley has disappointed in four seasons since being the No. 2 overall selection in the 2008 NBA Draft, and last season was his worst year yet, as he lost his starting role early on and could never get it back. He averaged 11.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while playing a career-low average of 23.1 minutes per game. Becoming a free agent might be the best thing that can happen to the 23-year-old, as he would have a choice of where he would play. He never really worked in the lineup next to Kevin Love in Minnesota, so hopefully he can find a role that will fit better. He remains an incredibly talented young player, so Fantasy owners should target him as a late-round option on Draft Day with considerable upside depending on where he lands.
News: The Timberwolves continue to be hit hard by injuries, and it is opening spots in the rotation for some different players, like forward Michael Beasley, who topped the 30-minute plateau on Thursday against the Clippers for just the second time since the beginning of March. Beasley took advantage of the opportunity by recording just his fourth double-double of the season, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds, as the Wolves fell, 95-82.
Analysis: Beasley has dealt with his own injury issues this season, however it seems like he is going to be able to get some solid playing time at the end of the season. With the Wolves' playoffs hopes ending on Thursday and Beasley set to be a free agent, he will be playing for a new contract in the offseason, and is a candidate to step his play up in the final weeks of the season. He is a viable starting Fantasy option right now.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley was able to return to the lineup during Saturday night's contest against the Hornets. Beasley, who had missed the previous five games due to a toe injury, finished with 20 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field in the 99-90 defeat. He also added seven rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal to his stat line, while logging 30 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Beasley wore a shoe one size bigger than normal in order to give him extra room and it seemed to work wonders on Saturday night. The 23-year-old seemed to be moving very well on the court and after the game reported no problems from his lingering toe injury. If Beasley is able to stay healthy and produce the way he did on Saturday, Fantasy owners should have no problem rolling him out there in the majority of formats heading into Week 16 (April 9-15). However, Beasley's inconsistent production this season, makes him more of a low-end option, even now that he appears to be healthy.
News: The Star Tribune reports that Minnesota power forward Michael Beasley (toe) will play Saturday at New Orleans wearing a shoe one size bigger than normal in order to give him extra room.
Analysis: This sounds like a quick fix for Beasley and we're not sure it is going to solve the problem. We wouldn't trust him right now in Fantasy. Fantasy owners will want to continue to monitor his status, however he has struggled with consistency this season, making him a risky option even when healthy.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley was out yet again on Wednesday against the Warriors, as he continues to deal with a toe injury, which has cost him the team's last four games. Coach Rick Adelman announced that Beasley could return on Saturday against the Hornets.
Analysis: The Wolves have a light schedule this week, which should give Beasley an opportunity to get healthy, which would explain why Adelman is relatively positive about his chances of returning. Fantasy owners will want to continue to monitor his status, however he has struggled with consistency this season, making him a risky option even when healthy.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Sunday that Minnesota power forward Michael Beasley (toe) did not travel with the team to Portland for Sunday's game. In fact, Beasley will miss both games on a two-game road trip.
Analysis: Beasley was trying to play through his painful toe issue earlier, but has since given up for all intents and purposes. He will need a couple days off and is iffy to return on Wednesday against the Warriors. Beasley is very erratic in Fantasy, when healthy, so he can be ignored outside the deeper Fantasy formats.
News: The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without a trio of players Friday as center Nikola Pekovic (ankle), forward Michael Beasley (toe) and Jose Juan Barea (thigh) were all ruled out for their matchup against the Boston Celtics. It is unclear when either player will return to the lineup.
Analysis: Beasley's disappointing season continues as he missed his second game in a row with his latest setback. The 23-year-old hasn't been the same scoring threat he was last season as his minutes have been shaved to 22.5 a game. Consider him a reserve option in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Minnesota power forward Michael Beasley missed Wednesday's game at Charlotte with a sore toe, reports the Star Tribune. Beasley missed last Friday's loss at Oklahoma City with the same issue. This toe issue has been a lingering one for a while but has just recently become enough to keep him out of games. Beasley is day to day for Minnesota.
Analysis: Beasley has scored 14 points on 6 for 17 shooting in two games since sitting out due to that toe injury. Now he's sitting out again. Beasley is clearly being bothered by this ailment and the smart thing might be for him to just rest it and take some time off. When healthy, Beasley is only a consistent Fantasy option in deeper formats.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley played as expected on Sunday against the Nuggets, and did not seem bothered by the lingering toe injury that has limited him recently. Beasley played 22 minutes in the game off the bench, scoring 11 points on 5 of 15 shooting, while adding just two rebounds and one assist as the Wolves won, 117-100.
Analysis: Beasley has been limited for most of the last two weeks, and it had caused him to miss three of the teams previous six games. Hopefully Sunday is a sign that he is over the ailment, as it has kept him to just 9.0 points on 36.4 percent shooting over the live five games. Beasley has seen his role shrink even before the injury, however, so he should be considered just a low-end Fantasy option when healthy.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley (toe) took part in pregame warmups and will attempt to play in Sunday's matchup against Denver, according to NBA.com. Beasley has missed three of the past six games, including the past two outings, with a sprained big toe on his left foot.
Analysis: Beasley has been hampered by injuries and inconsistency, and is averaging a lowly 11.5 points per game -- nearly eight points less than his career-high output of 19.2 from last year. He isn't receiving the same amount of playing time this year and should be reserved in most Fantasy formats while hobbled.
News: As expected, Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley was ruled out for Friday night's contest against the Thunder due to a toe injury. Beasley who has been limited the past two games with a toe injury, said he's going to need to take a few days off to let the toe heal.
Analysis: Beasley clearly is being bothered by his injury and he may have to sit out a few games to let it get right. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward to see how Minnesota will handle him moving forward. However, the 23-year-old has underachieved when he has been healthy this season, diminishing his value to more of a low-end option.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley, who has been limited the past two games with a toe injury, said he's going to need to take a few days off to let the toe heal. On Wednesday, Beasley was limited to just 11 minutes of action versus the Spurs, as he shot 2 for 7 from the field. Beasley finished the game with four points and one board as he didn't play in the second half.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in all leagues should use caution with Beasley since he could be limited with the toe or out going forward. Beasley also is just a low-end Fantasy option in the majority of leagues when healthy, so there's little reward in playing him when he's not 100 percent.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley returned to the court on Wednesday night against San Antonio. Beasley has missed some time with a sprained big toe. He saw 11 minutes of action versus the Spurs, as he shot 2 for 7 from the field. Beasley finished the game with four points and one board as he didn't play in the second half. The Spurs would go on to win the game, 116-100.
Analysis: It seems the Timberwolves will be easing Beasley back into action. Fantasy owners should view Beasley as a low-end forward option at this time. Keep tabs on him the rest of this scoring period to see if it will be worth starting him in Week 13.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley said at Wednesday morning's shootaround that he will keep playing on that sprained right toe even though he seems to aggravate it at least once every game. He is expected to be active Wednesday night at San Antonio. Beasley played more than 10 minutes in the first half Monday against Golden State then didn't play again.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues should use caution with Beasley since he could be limited again even though he's playing. Beasley also is just a low-end Fantasy option in the majority of leagues when healthy, so there's little reward in playing him when he's not 100 percent.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley is questionable for Wednesday's game at San Antonio. Beasley is dealing with a sprained big toe, and he played just nine minutes in Monday's game against Golden State.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues should use caution with Beasley since even if he plays against the Spurs he could be limited again. Beasley also is just a low-end Fantasy option in the majority of leagues when healthy, so there's little reward in playing him when he's not 100 percent.
News: Timberwolves forwars Michael Beasley was once again limited by his toe injury during Monday night's contest against the Warriors. Beasley, who has been dealing with a sprained big toe, logged just nine minutes in the 97-93 win. He finished with eight points in his limited game action.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley will play in Monday night's contest against the Warriors, according to the team's official website. Beasley, who has been dealing with sprained big toe, said he is still being bothered by the injury.
Analysis: Beasley is still being bothered by his injury, but will try and play through it. However, the 23-year-old continues to underachieve, so consider him merely a low-end option heading into Week 13 (March 19-25).
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley is still dealing with a swollen big left toe. Beasley returned Sunday after missing two games because of the hurting toe he injured Monday in Phoenix. He played 26 minutes despite hopping in pain after he landed hard on his left foot on a drive to the basket early in the second quarter. He scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half, when he shot 5-for-8. He shot 1-for-8 after halftime. "It hurt," he said. "But I tried. ... You can never tell right after the game because naturally your feet swell up anyway. I'll get some ice, get some treatment and see how it feels in the morning."
Analysis: We expect Beasley to play against Golden State on Monday, but Fantasy owners should use caution when setting your lineup. Beasley has the chance to play well with Ricky Rubio and Nikola Pekovic out with injuries, but his toe injury could limit him. Fantasy owners should consider him a low-end option moving forward.
News: After missing Minnesotas previous two games with a sprained big toe, forward Michael Beasley was back on the floor on Sunday against the Kings. He played 26 minutes on the bench, scoring 13 points on 6 of 16 shooting from the field while grabbing seven rebounds as the Timberwolves lost, 115-99.
Analysis: Beasley didnt seem bothered much by the injury, as he played just about to his season averages in his return. Beasleys role has decreased significantly this season, a she is averaging just 23.5 minutes per game. The Wolves tried to trade him at the deadline, which says everything about how they view him. Still, he provides an important scoring punch off the bench, so as long as they keep him in that role, Fantasy owners should consider him a low-end option moving forward.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley will make his return to the floor on Sunday against the Kings, after missing the teams two previous games with an injury to his big toe. Beasley warmed up before the game and declared himself ready to go, as the toe does not seem to be bothering him any longer.
Analysis: Prior to the game, the Star Tribune spoke to Beasley about returning to the Power Balance Pavilion, home of the Kings, where he put up a career-high of 42 in Nov. 2010. When asked whether he has another 42-point game in him in case the Wolves need a punch, Beasley relied, "I've got a lot of 42s left in me." The Kings are a poor defensive team, so Beasley certainly could go off. Owners in daily leagues should get him back in the lineup, and Beasley should be active for Week 13 (March 19-25) now that he is healthy again.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley missed his second consecutive game on Friday, as his sprained big toe kept him out against the Lakers. Beasley remains day to day with the injury.
Analysis: The toe is just a minor, lingering issue that likely shouldn't be an issue long-term, so Fantasy owners just need to continue to monitor Beasley's status. He remains a dynamite scorer, however inconsistent production and inconsistent minutes limit his Fantasy value to the lower end of the spectrum when healthy.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley (sore big toe) is questionable for Friday's game at the Lakers. Beasley missed Thursdays game against the Jazz with the toe injury.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues should use caution with Beasley, and hopefully he can return soon. He should be considered a low-end Fantasy forward in all leagues based on his level of inconsistent play.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley was not with the team on Thursday after the trade deadline, however it was a sprained big toe, and not a last-minute transaction that held him out. Beasley, the subject of trade rumors for weeks, will remain with the team for the rest of the season, however he missed Thursdays game against the Jazz with the toe injury.
Analysis: The best possible outcome for Beasley's Fantasy value moving forward likely would have been a trade, as his move to the bench has been permanent this season. He is behind a number of options in the rotation. He will likely be able to maintain his 11.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game average off the bench, making him just a low-end Fantasy option in all formats.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley, who is the subject of trade rumors, is doubtful to play Thursday night at Utah with a sore big toe he injured Monday in Phoenix.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues should keep Beasley reserved. There is also a chance he could get traded prior to the game, but if Beasley remains with Minnesota he should be considered a low-end Fantasy option in the majority of leagues based on his inconsistent level of play.
News: Yahoo! Sports reports sources said a potential trade between Minnesota and Portland regarding Blazers guard Jamal Crawford is gaining momentum again. The trade would be part of a three-team deal trade with the Lakers that would send Minnesota forward Michael Beasley to Los Angeles.
Analysis: Adding Beasley would give Los Angeles a solid presence at small forward and would also increase his Fantasy value. Beasley would likely seeing a playing time surge with Los Angeles and could get back to being a reliable Fantasy start. Fantasy owners need to keep tabs on Beasley's situation.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley left Monday's game against the Suns with a toe injury. Beasley sustained the injury in the second half of the 127-124 victory and did not return. He finished with 15 points and two rebounds prior to leaving the contest.
Analysis: There has been no official word on Beasley's injury, so Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward. The 23-year-old has seen his role with the Timberwolves diminish this season and could be on the move at the trading deadline. Keep an eye on how things play out moving forward. Beasley should be considered merely a low-end option, when healthy.
News: CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger reports that it's no secret that Minnesota is likely to trade forward Michael Beasley, with the most interested potential suitors being the Boston, the Lakers and Orlando. The Magic are pursuing multiple avenues in an attempt to improve the team in the hopes that a long playoff run could persuade Dwight Howard to stay. If Orlando holds off on trading Howard at the deadline, sources say Beasley could be a viable piece for the Nets to add as they try to upgrade their talent to make the team more attractive to Howard and Deron Williams.
Analysis: Beasley definitely needs a change of scenery because he is not a good fit for Rick Adelman's system in Minnesota. Keep an eye on what happens with Beasley leading up to the March 15 trade deadline and for now continue to stash him in all leagues.
News: Minnesota power forward Michael Beasley did not get off the bench in the second half of Saturday's win over Portland, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Beasley played just 13 minutes and scored six points with one rebound and three personal fouls. Beasley scored three points with three boards over 19 minutes in the game previous on Thursday in Phoenix.
Analysis: Beasley scored 27 points on 11 of 15 shooting with three 3-pointers and five rebounds on Feb. 28 in a big win at the Clippers. We told you then we were skeptical that Beasley could go right back to stinking up the joint and that is exactly what he has done in three games since. Beasley just cannot be trusted for sustained production even though he has all the talent in the world. Only use him in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Minnesota's bench went nuts on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. Playing in the first game since the All-Star break, it was bench players Derrick Williams and Michael Beasley who did most of the scoring. Beasley shot 11 of 15 from the field and tied Williams for the team lead with 27 points. Beasley hit all three 3-pointers he tried and added five rebounds in the victory.
Analysis: Beasley has moments like Tuesday and it isn't hard to see him becoming a superstar and a Fantasy stud. That said, in the game just before the All-Star break against Utah Beasley scored just two points. His minutes and effort are erratic and that hurts his promising Fantasy value. Owners obviously want to watch out for games like this becoming a trend as Beasley seems like he could break out at any minute. He's normally around 12 points and five boards per game and that keeps him viable in most 12-team or deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: The Los Angeles Lakers have spoken with Minnesota about trading for Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley, according to ESPN.com. In fact, the Lakers reportedly discussed a potential deal for Beasley before the regular season started as the team is hoping to improve the overall look of its roster. The report did not indicate what Minnesota would seek in return for Beasley, who is averaging 12.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
Analysis: Beasley's scoring is down considerably this season as the Timberwolves have a number of players at the forward position. He has started just seven games as he has served mainly off the bench recently after returning from a foot injury. The 23-year-old has shown he can be productive when provided the minutes, but his time is limited in Minnesota (26.4 mpg). Consider him a mid-range option only in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley had a productive outing on Monday night against Denver. He scored 17 points and hauled in seven rebounds in the 103-101 overtime loss. He went 7 for 16 from the floor, including 2 for 3 from downtown, and converted 1 of 2 free throws. Beasley also posted an assist while playing 33 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Beasley saw his most extensive playing time in awhile on Monday as he was needed more with Nikola Pekovic and Darko Milicic both banged up. He is averaging 8.8 points with three rebounds in his last five contests, and is shooting 41 percent over that span. The 23-year-old can be productive when given the minutes but based on his current role in Minnesota, leave Beasley reserved in the majority of larger Fantasy formats.
News: Minnesota PF Michael Beasley came off the bench on Monday night in Orlando despite the Wolves being without Luke Ridnour. Minnesota gave Martell Webster a start, deciding to stay small and not go with Beasley. Still, Beasley played 27 minutes in the defeat and scored 13 points to lead his team in bench scoring. Beasley shot 5 of 13 from the field and 2 of 8 from 3-point range. He grabbed two rebounds and had one assist and one steal in the performance.
Analysis: Beasley has shown the ability to play at a high level but has yet to do it consistently for Minnesota. The fact he's not starting yet is not a great sign as he must gain more familiarity with his teammates. Beasley is averaging 14.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game over his last five and that keeps him viable in most Fantasy formats.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley logged his third double-double of the season on Tuesday night against Sacramento. With Kevin Love serving a suspension, Beasley picked up the slack. He scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in his 31 minutes off the bench. Beasley shot 7 for 21 from the field and went 2 for 3 at the foul line. Minnesota would hold on for the 86-84 win, putting the team above the .500 mark.
Analysis: Beasley has been banged up this season, but is getting into a nice groove. He's averaging 15.6 points and 5.6 rebounds over his last five games. He's shooting 40 percent from downtown and 43.5 percent from the floor over that span. Unfortunately Beasley doesn't contribute much else, which limits his Fantasy value a bit. Still, the T-wolves are a nice core and Beasley is part of it. As long as he's contributing at this pace, Beasley is worth using in most 12-team standard Fantasy formats.
News: Minnesota PF Michael Beasley had a monstrous game on Monday night off the bench in a win over the Rockets. Beasley shot 10 for 14 from the field, including 2 for 3 from deep, over 32 minutes to score 34 points. Beasley led all scorers in the game and came close to matching a Minnesota franchise record for bench scoring. Beasley went 12 for 12 from the line and added three rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Analysis: Beasley recorded 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in Sunday's loss to the Lakers. The Wolves look pretty good with Beasley, Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio running the show and it is just a matter of time before Beasley is back in the starting lineup. He's looking great right now and should start getting active in most Fantasy leagues and formats once again.
News: Minnesota F Michael Beasley returned Friday after missing 11 games with a foot injury, playing 22 minutes off the bench against the Spurs. He scored seven points on 3 of 11 shooting on the night and looked like he had some trouble getting going in the flow of the offense. He did have two assists in the game and grabbed four rebounds.
Analysis: Beasley picked up right where he left off before the injury, unfortunately, he left off shooting below 40 percent from the field. He has struggled all year to embrace the wide-open offensive style of coach Rick Adelman, and it has caused his efficiency to take a big hit. Beasley is a talented scorer who has upped his rebounding this season, however unless his shot starts falling, hes going to have trouble getting back into the starting lineup now that Minnesota is starting to play better. He is a useful Fantasy option, but he keeps himself from being an elite one with his shot selection and inconsistency. Owners should consider him a viable Fantasy start once his minutes start to increase.
News: Minnesota F Michael Beasley is active for Friday's game against San Antonio after missing the past 11 games with a foot injury, according to the team's official website. Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman said Beasley will play off the bench after being a game-time decision.
Analysis: Beasley was able to return to practice Tuesday and was back in the lineup sooner than expected. Adelman will be conservative with Beasley, who is averaging 12.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this season. His scoring is down from his breakout campaign last season and there is talk he could continue to play in a reserve role for Minnesota. Fantasy owners should monitor his status while the team works him into the offense.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley (foot) is listed as a game-time decision for Friday's game against San Antonio, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Beasley's foot has shown improvement over the past week, but he has still missed the past 11 games.

Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman will be conservative with Beasley, who is averaging 12.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this season. News: Minnesota F Michael Beasley (foot) participated in Tuesday's practice, but he is not expected to return to game action anytime soon, according to the team's official website. Beasley missed Monday's game against Houston and Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman said the standout forward could be sidelined for the remainder of the week. Beasley has missed the past 10 game because of a foot injury.
Analysis: Adelman will continue to be conservative with Beasley, who is averaging 12.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this season. His scoring is down from his breakout campaign last season and there is talk he could play off the bench for Minnesota upon his return. It's an encouraging sign Beasley was back at practice, but Fantasy owners should leave him reserved for the remainder of Week 5 (Jan. 23-29).
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley (foot) will not play in Monday's game against Houston and could be sidelined for the remainder of the week, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Coach Rick Adelman said Beasley is likely to miss more playing time because of his ailing right foot and will not rush him back onto the court. Beasley has missed the past nine game because of the injury.
Analysis: Adelman will continue to be conservative with Beasley, who is averaging 12.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this season. His scoring is down from his breakout campaign last season as he has struggled from the field and is connecting on just 39.4 percent of his attempts. He entered the year draining 45.6 percent of his shots in his first three seasons. Fantasy owners should leave Beasley on the bench for Week 5 (Jan. 23-29).
News:Michael Beasley will not make the Minnesota Timberwolves road trip to Los Angeles and Utah this weekend because of a sprained right foot that has already kept him out of seven straight games. The Wolves play the Clippers on Friday night and the Jazz on Saturday night in a challenging back-to-back.
Analysis: Beasley has been out of the walking boot for a few days, but he is still not ready to return to game action. Hopefully, we will get another report before Week 5 (Jan. 23-29) begins, but as of now Beasley remains an injury-risk start.
News: Wolves PF Michael Beasley (foot) missed another game on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons, reports the Minnesota PR staff. Beasley continues to sit out as he has not played since Jan. 6 against Cleveland. Beasley is loosely considered day to day for the Wolves, though he has already missed seven straight contests.
Analysis: Beasley doesn't have a concrete timetable to return and we're not sure when that will happen at this point. He's already missed seven consecutive games. Beasley is inconsistent, but he is still talented. He could easily still log heavy minutes upon his return, so just stash Beasley until he is healthy.
News: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Monday that Wolves PF Michael Beasley (foot) remains out for Monday's game against Sacramento. Beasley was hoping to return from his injury on Monday, but instead had to miss the game. Beasley is loosely considered day to day for the Wolves.
Analysis: Beasley has not played in a game since scoring nine points in 28 minutes against Cleveland on Jan. 6. Beasley missed his sixth straight game on Monday and could still miss more before he's back. Beasley is inconsistent, but he is still talented. He could easily still log heavy minutes upon his return, so just stash Beasley until he is healthy.
News: The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without forward Michael Beasley and guard Jose Juan Barea this weekend when they travel to New Orleans and Atlanta. Beasley has not played since Jan. 6 because of a sprained right foot. Barea missed four games this season with a strained left hamstring and now is out with a sprained left ankle.
Analysis: This decision was made easier thanks to the recent emergence of rookie Derrick Williams, which obviously spells bad news for Beasley. The Timberwolves have a lot of quality frontcourt players and finding playing time is a challenge. Beasley is inconsistent, but he is still talented. He could easily still log heavy minutes upon his return, so just stash Beasley until he is healthy. But he is looking like an injury-risk Fantasy start for Week 4 (Jan. 16-22).
News: Minnesota PF Michael Beasley continues to be out indefinitely for the Wolves as the team played the Bulls on Tuesday. Beasley has a sprained right foot and the team announced Tuesday that he's going to need at least another week before returning to game action. Beasley was hurt on Friday in a loss to Cleveland.
Analysis: Beasley posted just nine points before departing Friday's game as he continues to struggle from the field during the early part of the season. He is boasting an inconsistent field-goal percentage of 39.4 while being held under double-figures in three games this year. He had just seven such games in 73 games during the 2010-11 campaign. He has been a useful Fantasy option in the past, but at this point it's getting tough to rely on him. He could miss time into Week 4 (Jan. 16-22) now.
News: Minnesota F Michael Beasley will miss at least the next three games with a sprained right foot. Beasley had an MRI on Saturday, which revealed no broken bones. He was injured with less than two minutes to play in Friday nights loss to Cleveland. The Timberwolves are preparing for their first back-to-back-to-back set of the season. They start in Washington on Sunday, travel to Toronto on Monday and finish with a home game against Chicago on Tuesday.
Beasley should likely be benched for Fantasy Week 3 (Jan. 9-15).
News: With two minutes remaining in a 98-87 loss to the Cavaliers, Timberwolves F Michael Beasley limped off the court with what was diagnosed as a right mid-foot sprain. He went straight to the locker room with the games outcome decided and finished with just nine points on four-of-12 shooting and 12 rebounds in 28 minutes. He underwent X-rays after the game which showed nothing abnormal, but will go in for an MRI on Saturday to determine the extent of the injury. At this point, nothing more is known about his status for upcoming games.
Analysis: Beasley has now failed to score in double digits three times in just seven games; he had just seven such games in 73 games last season. It has been a struggle for him this season as he is trying to adapt to the new personnel around him and a new system. His scoring is down to just 12.9 per game while he is averaging 14 shots per game. He has been a useful Fantasy option in the past, but at this point it's getting tough to rely on him. Monitor his injury and consider him a low-end Fantasy forward in all formats.
News: After suffering a laceration to his finger the night before, Timberwolves F Michael Beasley showed no signs of the injury on Monday against the Spurs. He scored 19 points and hauled in five rebounds while playing 43 minutes in the 106-96 win. He shot 8 for 15 from the field, including going 2 for 2 from downtown, and made 1 of 2 free throws. Beasley also chipped in with three assists and a blocked shot in the victory.
Analysis: Beasley received stitches on his finger but he appears to be good to go going forward. He entered Monday averaging 12.8 points with 5.5 rebounds through the first four games as he continues to be an inconsistent option in Fantasy. Minnesota has plethora of forwards that get minutes on a nightly basis and the 22-year-old could get lost in the shuffle. But since he usually produces when on the court, consider Beasley a No. 3 Fantasy F at this point.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley is expected to play on Monday night against the Spurs. He suffered a lacerated finger on Sunday.
Analysis: Beasley received stitches on his finger and it looks as though he is going to try and play through the injury. He is averaging 12.8 points with 53.5 rebounds through the first four games so keep an eye on how he does. Minnesota has plethora of forwards that get minutes on a nightly basis and the 22-year-old could get lost in the shuffle. But since he usually produces when on the court, consider Beasley a No. 3 Fantasy F at this point.
News: The Timberwolves won their first game in 18 tries on Sunday, 99-82 over the Mavericks, but they may have lost their starting small forward in the games waning moments, as F Michael Beasley injured his finger. He received a pass from Kevin Love as the shot clock ran out and threw up a shot late in the fourth quarter, and then immediately went to the bench to have the finger examined. While being examined, it appeared as if the TV cameras caught him saying Thats my bone! While it did not appear clear initially what caused the injury, he received five stitches to the finger, and hopes to be able to play Monday vs, San Antonio. He finished the game with eight points and seven rebounds on three-of-ten shooting.
Analysis: Beasley is no doctor, and while neither are we it still seems as if that self-diagnosis is overly optimistic. With the glut of forwards on their roster and Beasleys slow start averaging just 12.8 points-per game the Wolves may be inclined to let the injury fully heal before getting him back out on the floor. They have an off day after the game Monday, so it seems more likely that he sits and gets back in against the Grizzlies on Wednesday. Whenever he gets back in the lineup, consider Beasley a No. 3 Fantasy forward in all Fantasy formats.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley poured in 15 points in Tuesday night's 95-95 win over the Bucks. Beasley, who finished with 24 points during Minnesota's season opener, shot 6 of 13 from the field, including going 1 of 2 from downtown. He made just two of his six free-throw attempts, but was able to chip in with seven rebounds, while logging 25 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Beasley is coming off a breakout 2010-11 season for Minnesota and has looked pretty good during his first two games this year. While there is some concern that rookie Derrick Williams could steal some of his minutes, Beasley's ability to put the ball in the basket continues to keep him in the starting lineup. Until that changes, owners should fee free to roll with the 22-year-old as a No. 3 Fantasy F in all formats heading into Fantasy Week 2 (Jan. 2-8).
News: Minnesota F Michael Beasley dismissed concerns about his wrist and finished tied for the team lead with 21 points during the Timberwolves' preseason victory over Milwaukee last Friday. Reports surfaced in September that Beasley sustained a fractured wrist while playing in China, but those were not confirmed by the team's medical staff. Beasley nailed 7 of 14 from the field Friday while adding six rebounds and three assists.
Analysis: Beasley is coming off a breakout 2010-11 season in which he averaged 19.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. There is some concern of a decline in production this upcoming season, however, due to the team's coaching change and the addition of F Derrick Williams in the draft. Still, Beasley will look to build on his solid campaign and remains worthy of a mid-round pick in most Fantasy drafts entering the season.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley hurt his wrist while playing in China. While initial reports suggested that Beasley may have suffered a fracture, ESPN reports that was not the case. Beasley was evaluated upon his return to the United States as a precaution.
Analysis: The severity of the injury has yet to be confirmed, but it does not appear that it is anything to be concerned about going into the upcoming NBA season. Beasley was ticketed for possessing marijuana and speeding, which could result in some disciplinary action once the lockout ends, though the NFL has decided not to punish infractions that occurred during their lockout. Beasley is coming off a breakout season during which he averaged 19.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. There is some concern of a decline in production this upcoming season, however, due to the team's coaching change and the addition of Derrick Williams in the draft. Beasley will remain worthy of a mid-round pick as a No. 2/3 forward in most Fantasy formats going into the season.
News: Police say Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley was ticketed for possessing marijuana and speeding in the Minneapolis suburb of Minnetonka last week. Capt. Scott Boerboom said Thursday that an officer stopped Beasley around 3 a.m. on June 26 on Interstate 394 after clocking him going 84 mph in a 65 mph zone. He says the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. The report says the officer found 16.2 grams of it under the front passenger seat of Beasley's car. It says Beasley claimed the marijuana was not his, but belonged to a friend whom he had just dropped off. The possession charge is a petty misdemeanor that carries a fine of $128. The Timberwolves say they can't comment during the lockout.
Analysis: This is the wrong time for Beasley to get in trouble since his job could be in jeopardy in 2011-12 after Minnesota drafted rookie Derrick Williams with the No. 2 overall pick. There is now a logjam at forward with Kevin Love, Anthony Randolph, Wesley Johnson, Beasley and Williams, and Beasley could be traded this offseason. If he remains with the Timberwolves we could still see Williams and Beasley playing in tandem with Love getting time at center. Keep an eye on what develops, but Beasley is still worth starting in the majority of leagues with a mid- to late-round pick.
News: The Sports Xchange reports that when the second-newest member of the Timberwolves went searching for information about the newest one delivered Thursday night, Ricky Rubio went looking where any 20-year-old might go. "I went to YouTube," he said. Likewise for Arizona forward Derrick Williams, the aforementioned newest Timberwolves player, when he wanted to see what Rubio can do. "I've seen a lot of clips of him on there," Williams said. That No. 2 overall pick is the highest the Wolves have ever drafted in their 22 seasons, and for weeks leading into the draft the team seemed intent on dealing it for a veteran player or for two other later picks in the first round. In the days before the draft, various Internet reports suggested they were getting Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, Andre Iguodala, Josh Smith, JaVale McGee and Monta Ellis in some form for that No. 2 pick. Ultimately, the Wolves took Williams -- the 6-8 sophomore forward who singlehandedly destroyed Duke in the first half of an NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen game in March -- second after Cleveland selected Duke guard Kyrie Irving first. GM David Kahn said shortly after making the pick that Williams isn't going anywhere even though the Wolves already have forwards Michael Beasley, Anthony Randolph and Wes Johnson.
Analysis: There's a chance Beasley could be traded this offseason with the addition of Williams, but we'll have to wait until that happens. If he remains with the Timberwolves we could still see Williams and Beasley playing in tandem with Kevin Love getting time at center. Keep an eye on what develops, but Beasley is still worth starting in the majority of leagues with a mid- to late-round pick.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley played inspired basketball this season early on after being traded away from the Heat last summer. He came out of the gate hot, scoring about 23 points per game through December. But Beasley would cool down for the rest of the season, and he would ultimately cap the year off scoring at a 19.0 points per game clip. Though his production wasn't sustained throughout the year, Beasley had a career year offensively. Just as importantly, he didn't have a drop-off in field goal percentage despite playing more minutes than ever before. His rebounding didn't fluctuate much all season, and they didn't decrease considerably from his days in the Eastern Conference. Beasley heads into the 2011-12 season preparing for his impending free agency after his fourth NBA season.
Analysis: Beasley was expected to have more of a role in Fantasy play now that he was out of Dwyane Wade's shadow, and that's exactly what happened with the change of scenery. He finished the year with a career-high in points per game, free throw makes and attempts, minutes and assists. The anticipated increases led to a higher draft stock before the season began, and Fantasy owners selected the scorer in the eighth round on average in CBSSports.com leagues. Beasley's production was right on par with where he was selected, as he finished season among the likes of Gerald Wallace, Kevin Garnett, and Nene. We expect similar numbers next season, and he again should be looked at in the middle rounds on Draft Day.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley, known in the NBA for his great scoring ability and solid rebounding, utilized what he does best and mixed in some defense in Wednesday's game against the Suns. He shot 10 of 23 from the floor on the way to 24 points in the loss, and he pulled down 11 rebounds as a compliment to recording a second double-double in as many days. Beasley also ended up assisting on three baskets in 40 minutes of playing time, but his defense was noteworthy. He recorded a career-high five steals on the night, good for more than seven times the amount he averages per game this season.
Analysis: Beasley recording a double-double on points and rebounds is nothing uncommon, but the former No. 2 overall pick getting defensive certainly is. In fact, he hadn't even recorded a single steal in the previous three games he played. Beasley has just six blocks over his last 12 games. While his defense has potential, it's just not anywhere near his strong suit. Fantasy owners should expect steady offense as always, but the defensive trends will soon fade out. Still, Beasley is a gifted offensive player, and he should still be considered a mid-range guy in all formats moving forward.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley had 28 points and 10 rebounds in the Timberwolves' 85-82 loss to Boston on Sunday night. Beasley attempted a whopping 28 shots and made 11 to complete his sixth double-double of the season. He also went 2 for 4 from 3-point range -- the second game in a row he has knocked down two treys. "I feel like we showed a lot of character," said Beasley, whose team has lost seven straight. "We could have just let them beat us by 60 points. But we fought back and gave ourselves a chance to win the last two minutes. Of course we wanted to win, but it didn't turn out that way. A lot of guys played well, and we learned a lot from this game."
Analysis: Beasley was the leading scorer for Minnesota, which was missing All-Star Kevin Love for the third straight game because of a strained left groin. The emerging star displayed no lingering effects of a nagging hip injury that slowed him earlier in the week and posted his highest point total since Jan. 26 against Oklahoma City (30). Beasley's 28 shots were the third-most this season and the 20th time he has fired at least 20 shots in a game. He also helped in other areas besides shooting and contributed three assists and three blocks for the Timberwolves. Fantasy owners should keep Beasley active in all Fantasy formats for the remainder of the season.
News: Despite dealing with a hip injury, Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley gave it a go yet again Thursday against the Mavericks. He seemed a bit off his game, but still was productive despite relegated minutes. Beasley shot 4 of 11 from the floor and 4 of 4 from the line on the way to 12 points. He added six rebounds, two assists and a steal in just 24 minutes of playing time, seeing below his season average for the seventh straight game while dealing with a neck injury as well.
Analysis: Beasley seemed sluggish at times, but then overcame the pain on some plays. He had a couple of his jumpers fall, and made an explosive dunk to finish an alley-oop in the third quarter. Outside of those handful of plays, Beasley looked clearly under 100 percent. Still, it doesn't seem like the former No. 2 overall pick is going to sit out any time soon unless coach Kurt Rambis calls for the move. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the situation over the next few days to see if he will be rested or if he will continue at the limited pace. When healthy, Beasley is a mid-range option in most formats because of his scoring ability, but expectations should be tempered with his health in question.
News: Despite dealing with a hip injury, Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley is in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Mavericks.
Analysis: Beasley will continue to deal with the issue, but the expectations should be tempered by Fantasy owners. Still, his scoring potential warrants him mid to high-end value whenever on the floor.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley participated in most of Wednesday's practice and is listed as questionable for Thursday's game at Dallas because of a bruised hip sustained Friday in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
Analysis: Since Beasley was able to practice Wednesday that's a good sign that he should be able to play against the Mavericks barring a setback. He could see a boost in value with Kevin Love (groin) out, and we consider Beasley a quality Fantasy option in all leagues when healthy.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley is still dealing with a problem in his left hip. He is considered questionable to play in Thursday's game at Dallas.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Beasley's status and hope he can play against the Mavericks. Beasley could see an increase in production if he's 100 percent healthy with Kevin Love (groin) also ailing. Fantasy owners in daily leagues should consider Beasley a quality starting option if he's considered healthy enough to play.
News:Michael Beasley, playing for the first time after Friday's hard foul from Andrew Bynum, saw limited action Sunday against the Kings because of the hip issue. He played just 15 minutes on the afternoon, scoring 13 points on 3 of 8 shooting from the floor. Beasley didn't seem into the game, picking up a technical foul for disputing a non-call, further limiting his minutes. Still, he scored nearly a point per minute and added a rebound in the blowout loss.
Analysis: Beasley appeared agitated and distracted from the outset. He thought he was fouled on a drive to the basket in the opening minutes but didn't get a call and proceeded to complain loudly to assistant coach J.B. Bickerstaff as he headed back down the court. Once there, Beasley was given a technical foul for griping to the officials. He picked up his second personal foul in short order and spent all but five minutes of the first half on the bench. Fantasy owners should monitor his hip situation moving forward, though other factors contributed to his limited playing time. When healthy, without distraction, Beasley is a mid-range Fantasy option because of his above-average scoring ability.
News:Michael Beasley, sidelined by a bruised left hip he suffered late in Fridays loss to the Lakers when L.A. center Andrew Bynum crashed into him, is still slowed by the injury but was in the lineup against the Kings for Sunday's game. Bynum was suspended for two games Sunday for the type-2 flagrant foul on the Wolves forward. Minnesota coach Kurt Rambis, who was not critical of the play after the game Friday, said he had changed his opinion after seeing a replay. Bynum made no play on the ball. It was very deserving of the flagrant-2 call, Rambis said. Michael was relatively lucky he didnt get hurt more he landed on his shoulder, wrist and hip.
Analysis: Barring a setback, expect Beasley to be a safe play in any daily and weekly format going forward. Fantasy owners in weekly formats should use Sunday's game as a measuring stick as far as his viability for Fantasy Week 22 (March 21-27). While healthy, Beasley has enjoyed a breakout season in Minnesota.
News: The Timberwolves officially list F Michael Beasley (hip) as 'probable' for Sunday's game against Sacramento. He is listed among the team's probable starters. Beasley left Friday's game at the Lakers in the fourth quarter with a bruised left hip.
Analysis: Expect Beasley to be able to give it a go, making him a safe play in any daily format. Fantasy owners in weekly formats should use Sunday's game as a measuring stick as far as his viability for Fantasy Week 22 (March 21-27). Only a setback will make him worth reserving. While healthy, Beasley has enjoyed a breakout season in Minnesota.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley left Friday's game against the Lakers with a bruised left hip, after landing on the area as the result of a flagrant 2 foul by center Andrew Bynum midway through the fourth quarter. Beasley did not return. "I'm fine. I'm cool. I'm straight," said Beasley, who believes he'll play Sunday against Sacramento. "It was just a hard foul, a playoff foul. They're getting ready for the playoffs, man. It's the kind of foul and the kind of basketball they've got to play, and you've got to get used to playing against that."He was able to make the free throws after the incident that resulted in a scuffle, but he would limp off into the locker room before play resumed. Beasley finished the night with 18 points on 6 of 14 shooting, making all four of his attempts from the charity stripe. He added seven rebounds and a pair of assists to go along with a steal in 30 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Bynum lowered his shoulder and drove his elbow into Beasley's chest mid-air, and he landed directly on his left hip and elbow. He got to his feet slowly, then received a technical foul himself for jawing with some of the Lakers after the play. Beasley and the 'Wolves have a day off Saturday before playing Sunday, so check back to see if the injury is worse than originally thought. When healthy, the talented scorer is considered a mid-range Fantasy option across the board. Keep an eye on Beasley's situation.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley was able to play through a sore neck in Sunday's 100-77 loss to the Warriors. Beasley finished with 16 points in the in the contest on 5 of 12 shooting from the field. He went 5 of 8 from the free-throw line and also chipped in with five rebounds and two steals while logging 26 minutes in the contest. Beasley is averaging 18.6 points and 5.8 rebounds over his last five contests.
Analysis: Beasley had a decent game against Golden State but more importantly showed no ill-effects from his neck injury that forced him too miss practice on Saturday. Fantasy owners should feel free to get the 22-year-old active heading into Week 21 (March 14-20) when the Timberwolves take on the Jazz, Lakers and Kings. Beasley has been a fairly consistent Fantasy producer this season and can be considered a solid Fantasy option in all formats, when healthy.
News: As expected, Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley will be in the lineup for Sunday's contest against the Warriors. Beasley missed practice on Saturday because of a stiff neck. He is averaging 19.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in 58 games this season.
Analysis: Beasley will play on Sunday, so owners in daily leagues should get him active against the fast-paced Warriors. While the 22-year-old has been a bit erratic since the All-Star break, he has still put up career-high's in almost every single offensive category. Keep him active in all formats, when healthy.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley missed practice on Saturday because of a stiff neck. Beasley said on Saturday that he doesn't think his injury is anything serious and he should be ready to play in Sunday's game against the Warriors. He is averaging 19.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in 58 games this season.
Analysis: Beasley finally seems to be over the ankle problems that have been plaguing him for the entire season, but now has a stiff neck. Still, the latter is not thought to be a serious injury and shouldn't keep the 22-year-old from missing any games. Fantasy owners may want to keep an eye on his status just to be on the safe side. Beasley has put up career highs in almost every single offensive category this season and should remain active in all formats, when healthy.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley turned in another solid performance in Saturday's 103-96 loss to the Wizards. Beasley scored 18 points in the contest on 8 of 20 shooting from the field. He went 1 of 4 from downtown and also chipped in with four rebounds and a pair of assists in the defeat. Beasely is averaging 15.8 points and 4.6 rebounds over his last five games.
Analysis: Beasley has not been able to find the scoring touch he had in the first half of the season of late. The 22-year-old has been a bit erratic since the All-Star break and is averaging just 15.3 points over the second half of the season. Still, Fantasy owners have to be pleased with Beasley's production thus far, and he seems to finally be over all the ankle problems that had been plaguing him earlier in the season. As long as he remains in the lineup, Fantasy owners should keep him active in all formats heading into Fantasy Week 20 (March 7-13).
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley posted 25 points and nine rebounds in the Timberwolves' 126-123 victory over Golden State on Sunday. Beasley sank 12 of 23 attempts from the field, including one trey, to finish with his highest scoring total since Jan. 26 against Oklahoma City (30). His outing snapped a four-game slide in which Beasley was held scoreless from 3-point range. Minnesota's impressive win comes a day after the players and coaches met to clear the air in the hopes of sparking better play, which reinvigorated Beasley. "I feel like everybody took it the right way. Nobody took it hard," he said. "There's no hard feelings, you know? It's kind of what we needed. I feel like everybody took it to heart and didn't want to be all talk. We came to play."
Analysis: The Timberwolves -- and Fantasy owners -- certainly need Beasley to rediscover the prolific scoring touch he displayed at the beginning of the season. Sunday could be a start. The near double-double represented his best performance in the four games since returning from an ankle injury that forced him to miss five contests. Beasley made 12 field goals, only his second time with double figures in shots this month. He appears over his ankle injury and should be viewed as a must-start in all Fantasy formats going forward.
News: Minnesota PF Michael Beasley returned from a four-game absence due to an ankle injury on Tuesday as the second half of the season opened against the Bucks. Beasley looked healthy in his return as he scored 21 points over 30 minutes on 10 of 17 shooting. He added one rebound and one assist and turned the ball over five times.
Analysis: Beasley's return to action wasn't excellent with only one rebound and the five turnovers. Still, he shot well and that is mostly what Fantasy owners were looking for. Beasley is averaging a career-high 19.9 points on the season, but continues to have left ankle issues. He's struggled over his most recent 10-game span so Fantasy owners were happy to see the scoring he put up Tuesday. Now that he's back, Beasley can be active in most Fantasy leagues again.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley, who has missed the past four games with an ankle injury, has been upgraded to probable for Tuesday's game at Milwaukee. Beasley was able to practice in full on Monday and told the team's official website he will play against the Bucks.
Analysis: It appears Beasley will play on Tuesday, but Fantasy owners may want to keep an eye on his status just to be on the safe side. Minnesota plays four times during Fantasy Week 18 (Feb. 21-27), so it would be nice he if was in fact back in the lineup. Beasley is averaging a career-high 19.9 points on the season, but continues to have left ankle issues. Hopefully his injury is fully healed and he can remain healthy the rest of the season. Beasley can be considered a must-start, when in the lineup.
News: The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that even though Wolves forward Michael Beasley is averaging 19.9 points per game, Minnesota team basketball president David Kahn wants more from him when the season resumes Feb. 22 after the All-Star break. Beasley has missed the last four games prior to the break. "Michael Beasley needs to have a huge last third of the season when he comes back," Kahn said. The question is when will Beasley return. He is not guaranteed to play when Minnesota plays its first game on Feb. 22 at Milwaukee. Kahn acknowledges that Beasley, recovering from an injured ankle, has played well the first part of the season. "But I expect more; I want more from him," Kahn said. "I expect him to have a huge last part of the season. I said that to him and he said, 'I can do that.' I said, 'I know you can. I wouldn't ask you to do something you can't do.' "
Analysis: Continue to monitor what happens with Beasley heading into Fantasy Week 18. Hopefully he's ready to return following the break, but use caution when setting your lineup. When healthy, Beasley is a must-start Fantasy option.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Wolves forward Michael Beasley, who missed Wednesday night's game against the Clippers with an injured ankle, might not be ready to return coming out of the All-Star break. He has now missed the past four games with the injury.
Analysis: Continue to monitor what happens with Beasley heading into Fantasy Week 18. Hopefully he's ready to return following the break, but use caution when setting your lineup. When healthy, Beasley is a must-start Fantasy option. He is averaging 19.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in his breakout season.
News: As anticipated, Minnesota forward Michael Beasley (ankle) missed the Timberwolves' game against the Clippers on Wednesday, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Beasley, who didn't practice with the team on Tuesday, has missed the last four games after aggravating a previous ankle injury on Feb. 8 at Houston. He also missed two games with an ankle injury in mid-January.
Analysis: With Minnesota owning a lackluster 13-42 record, the team decided not to rush Beasley back with the All-Star break upcoming this weekend. The Timberwolves are hoping the emerging star forward can rest his ankle over the break and be able to return effectively against Milwaukee next Tuesday. He is averaging 19.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in his breakout season, and should be considered a must-start when healthy.
News: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Timberwolves PF Michael Beasley (ankle) didn't practice Tuesday and is likely to miss Wednesday's game against the Clippers, putting him out until after the All-Star break.
Analysis: All signs are pointing to the Timberwolves allowing Beasley to rest his bum ankle over the All-Star break, so owners in daily leagues should plan on being without him on Wednesday. Hopefully the youngster can regain his health and form in the second half and get back to being a must-start Fantasy option.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley was ruled out for Monday's contest against the Blazers as he continues to deal with a left ankle injury. Beasley was able to work out at the team's practice Monday morning, but the ankle was still giving him problems. He has now missed four straight games with the injury.
Analysis: Beasley had previously stated he would not rush back from his latest ankle injury, but it appears he is doing everything possible to get back on the court. Still, with Minnesota only playing once more before the All-Star break, the team might ultimately decide to hold him out until after the second half of the season. The 22-year-old has really come into his own this in Minnesota, but continues to be plagued by his troublesome left ankle. Fantasy owners should continue to keep an eye on the situation moving forward to see when he will be able to get back on the court. Keep him stashed in the meantime.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Michael Beasley (ankle) was able to work out at the team's practice Monday morning. However, the report noted that there is "no guarantee" that Beasley would be able to play on Tuesday vs. Portland.
Analysis: Beasley has missed the team's last three games due to the injury. The Timberwolves are slated for two games in Week 17 (Feb. 14-20) and with the All-Star break so close there is always a chance he could be rested through the break. Start him at your own risk this week in weekly formats, but he is a player worth taking a gamble on.
News: Timberwolves PF Michael Beasley, who has missed the last three games with an ankle injury, returned to practice Sunday.
Analysis: Minnesota plays twice in the short Fantasy Week 17 (Feb. 14-17), so Beasley might be worth a look in all formats if he's cleared to play by the lineup deadline on Monday. With his 19.9 points per game, Beasley is a solid Fantasy option when healthy and producing.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley said he will give his problematic left ankle the proper time to heal. Beasley said the same thing last month, then came back after only two games and repeatedly turned the ankle after that. He missed his second straight game on Friday and told the Minnesota Star-Tribune that he likely will miss the next two or three games. "I'm going to rest it until it's not sore no more," Beasley said. "It's one of those things, I don't want it to shorten my career. It's my feet. That's one thing you really can't mess with. It's not that serious, but I do need to rest it. I never really gave it a break. I need to take some time to strengthen it and let it heal."
Analysis: Beasley appears committed to resting his ankle, which bodes well for Fantasy owners in the long run. He rushed back from his first ankle injury and has only scored 25 or more points just once since the injury occurred onJan. 25. The 22-year-old had done so 15 times before that and even his head coach Kurt Rambis noticed Beasley's ankle has affected his play. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his status with Minnesota playing three games before the break, but it appears he may just sit out until after the All-Star game. Keep him stashed in the meantime.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley missed his second straight game with an ankle injury. He participated in some of Friday's shootaround, but the team is opting to get him more rest. The Timberwolves play again on Saturday and is being considered day to day, according to the team's official website.
Analysis: Beasley has had a nice year for Minnesota, averaging 19.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest. He's been dealing with this ankle injury and could return Saturday, but with the All-Star break coming up he may get extended rest for the second half of the season. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor him through the weekend to see when it is safe to put him back into lineups.
News: The Timberwolves are reporting via their play by play announcer on Twitter that forward Michael Beasley (ankle) participated "some" during shootaround Friday, and his status remains questionable for Friday night's game at Indiana. Beasley missed practice Thursday.
Analysis: Beasley is listed as questionable for the game with the Pacers, but we don't expect him to play. Hopefully he can return soon since he's playing well this season and has become a must-start Fantasy option. Continue to monitor his status and hope he doesn't have a lengthy absence.
News: Timberwolves PF Michael Beasley (ankle) did some shooting Thursday but missed practice.
Analysis: Beasley is listed as day-to-day, but the chances of him playing Friday at Indiana appear to be slim. Continue to stash him away in Fantasy play, and be prepared for Minnesota to possibly let him heal over the All-Star break a bit.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis said Tuesday that there is no timetable for Michael Beasley's return. Rambis recalled Beasley "hobbling" off the floor after Friday's game in Toronto. "The next day at shootaround back at home, he's walking around fine," Rambis said. "He said he wanted to play, and he played 36 minutes without incident. It's a hard thing to gauge. Obviously, he's hurt himself repeatedly, and seemingly it doesn't take much because he just came down on it wrong [Monday]. It's tender and not able to support him."
Analysis: Beasley said the ankle swelled up on him after Monday's game, leading him to want to take some time off to let it heal. Technically, he is day to day and could return as early as Friday's game at Indiana. However, it is a strong possibility that the team could use the nearing All-Star break as a way to give him ample time to recover an injury that has lingered. Continue to monitor his progress. When healthy, he has emerged as a must-start this season in Minnesota.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley did not play in Tuesday's contest at Houston as he continues to nurse his sore ankle. Beasley, who has been playing through pain in his ankle since hurting it in last Friday's game, aggravated it in during the fourth quarter of Monday's win at New Orleans. After the game Beasley said the ankle was swelling and he would likely rest the affected area for "a couple games." Coach Kurt Rambis somewhat agreed. The individual is going to know more intensely how they feel, Rambis said. Its a hard thing to gauge, but obviously hes hurt himself repeatedly. I think he wants to take some time off just to get better.
Analysis: Beasley, who is enjoying the best season of his underwhelming career, has had several ankle problems of late. The 22-year-old will likely be out for a couple of games, so Fantasy owners will have to keep an eye on his status moving forward. Beasley is averaging 19.9 points to go long with 5.6 rebounds through 47 games this season. Consider him a high-end Fantasy forward, when he is back at 100 percent.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley was carried off the court after further injuring his ankle in the Timberwolves' 104-92 victory over New Orleans on Monday night. Beasley, who has been playing through pain in his ankle since hurting it in last Friday's game, left the game with 6:39 remaining during the fourth quarter in the grasp of two teammates and did not return. He was taken to the locker room and it was unclear the severity of his injury. Beasley finished with 14 points and five rebounds in 31 minutes of playing time. After the game, Beasley said the ankle was swelling and he would likely rest the affected area for "a couple games."
Analysis: Beasley, who is enjoying the best season of his underwhelming career, has had several ankle problems in the past and missed two games in mid-January with an ankle injury. Beasley got off to a scorching start Monday and scored Minnesota's first six points of the game. However, he made only 3 of his remaining 13 shots and finished with his second-lowest point total of the season when playing more than 30 minutes. Fantasy owners should monitor his healthy status very closely as the Timberwolves could rest Beasley until after the upcoming All-Star break to avoid the risk of further injury. When healthy, he should be considered a must-start in all Fantasy formats.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley, who suffered an ankle injury in Friday's loss to the Raptors, was able to play through it in Saturday's 113-100 loss to the Nuggets. Beasley scored a game-high 23 points in the victory on 7 of 20 shooting from the field. He went 8 of 12 from the free-throw line and also finished with fiver assists, four rebounds and a steal in 39 minutes
Analysis: Beasley is in the midst of a career year, but has been a bit injury prone this year. He has had ankle issues in the past, so Fantasy owners will have to monitor his status before deciding on whether to start him in Fantasy Week 16 (Feb. 7-13). The third-year forward continues to lead the Timberwolves in scoring on a nightly basis when he has been in the lineup and can be considered a No. 2 Fantasy forward, when healthy.
News: The Timberwolves announced that forward Michael Beasley will play in Saturday's game against the Nuggets despite a sore ankle. He left Friday's loss to the Raptors with the injury after landing on teammate Kevin Love's foot on a drive to the basket.
Analysis: Beasley is in the midst of a career year, but injuries have limited him to a degree over the last month. He's had foot/ankle issues in the past, so the situation needs to be monitored moving forward even though he will play. Beasley is normally a No. 2 Fantasy option for his scoring talents (19.9 ppg), but the ankle issue will likely limit him a bit so don't expect the usual from the former No. 2 overall pick.
News: After landing on teammate Kevin Love's foot on a drive to the basket, Minnesota forward Michael Beasley left Friday's game against the Raptors, and did not return. He went directly to the locker room hopping on one leg, without the assistance of trainers. Beasley finished the night with four points on 2 of 7 shooting. He pulled down a rebound and assisted on one basket in just 12 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Beasley is in the midst of a career year, but injuries have limited him to a degree over the last month. He's had foot/ankle issues in the past, so the situation needs to be monitored moving forward. When healthy, the former No. 2 overall pick is a viable Fantasy option in all formats. Beasley will likely be evaluated Saturday.
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley led the way on Wednesday for the Timberwolves as he scored a team-high 19 points. He shot 8 for 14 from the floor -- converting 1 of his 3 shots from behind the 3-point arc -- and hit both his foul shots. Beasley would grab just two rebounds and dish out two assists in his 26 minutes of action. He did add a steal and two blocks for Minnesota, but his efforts would fall on the losing side. The Grizzlies held off the Timberwolves, 102-84.
Analysis: Beasley has been up and down for Minnesota this year, but when he's on he's great. Over his last five games Beasley is averaging 17.6 points, 6.4 boards and 1.2 blocks per contest. He's shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 20.0 percent from downtown over that span. While his inconsistent play can get frustrating, Beasley does enough good on a nightly basis to keep him active in most Fantasy leagues. Owners should continue to view him as a high-end option moving forward.

Beasley also added seven assists to finish with the second 25/5/5 game of his career.
Analysis: Beasley has now shot 50 percent or better from the field in four consecutive games since missing two contests with an ankle injury. Wednesday's game marked the 15th time he has fired at least 25 shots but just the second time he has done it in January. Beasley played 44 minutes -- his most since Jan. 5 -- and didn't appear to be slowed by the injury. He is now averaging 26.3 points since his return and should be viewed as a must-start in all Fantasy formats.
News: In just his second game back from an ankle injury, Timberwolves PF Michael Beasley was the driving force for the offense against the up-tempo Clippers on Wednesday night. Analysis: Beasley was ejected from the game for the first time this season Wednesday, and it let out the rest of the steam for the Timberwolves, who were already facing a considerable deficit. Still, Beasley was the best scorer on the floor at the time he left, a good sign for Fantasy owners who were waiting on his return. He is having a career campaign in his first season with the Timberwolves, averaging 20.6 points per game. While this injury has slowed his production of late, it is only a matter of time before he breaks out of it so continue to view the 21-year-old as a solid start in most formats.

News: According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley will attempt to play on Monday night against the Trail Blazers. He's dealing with an ankle injury and has missed the last two games.
Analysis: Beasley may play, but Fantasy owners in daily formats should be cautious. The Timberwolves are slated for two games this scoring period, so even if he's healthy he won't have too much of a chance to produce solid Fantasy points. It may be wise to keep him benched until he's 100 percent. When healthy, Beasley is a solid start in most formats.
News: Minnesota PF Michael Beasley practiced on Sunday and has seen an improvement in his injured ankle, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Beasley is not yet 100 percent, however. "We'll see," coach Kurt Rambis said of whether or not he would play against Portland Monday.
Analysis: Beasley should still be considered a serious injury risk for Fantasy Week 13 (Jan. 17-23). The Timberwolves are slated for just two games and there is no guarantee Beasley will play in either. Barring word from the team that he will play on Monday, we suggest using healthy alternatives for the upcoming scoring period in weekly leagues. Beasley is enjoying a breakout type season this year while healthy and remains worthy of your patience.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the Timberwolves "hope" that Michael Beasley (ankle) will recover enough by Monday's game in Portland to play. Beasley missed his second straight game on Saturday against Orlando due to a sore left ankle. "I think it's better, but it's not remarkably better," coach Kurt Rambis said of Beasley's left ankle. "He went through practice [Friday], but you could see he wasn't really pushing off on it, wasn't able to do things he's normally able to do."

Coach Kurt Rambis said Beasely's ankle is improving but he still feels soreness when he tries to push off to the side. Rambis also said there is no timetable for his return.
Analysis: There were initial reports that Beasley could miss an extended amount of time with his latest ankle injury. However, that stance has soften some after Beasley was able to take part in the team's practice on Friday. Still, Fantasy owners will have to continue to monitor his status over the next few days to see if he can play in Fantasy Week 13. (Jan. 17-23). Still, with Minnesota playing just twice in the upcoming scoring period, owners may want to go in another direction while Beasley is still not 100 percent.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley, who missed Thursday's game against Washington to rest his sore left ankle, could be dealing with a long absence. "It's time to get him healthier," coach Kurt Rambis said. "I don't know if he's ever going to be completely healthy [this season]. We'll get him a lot healthier so he can go out there and play and not be thinking about it." The good news for Beasley, reports the official team website, was that he was able to take part in Friday's practice, but Rambis still said he's questionable for Saturday's game against the Magic.
Analysis: Beasley will likely miss Saturday's game against Orlando as well, which is bad news for Fantasy owners in weekly formats. Fantasy owners in daily leagues should plan on Beasley being out, but hopefully we'll have a better indication if Beasley can play in Fantasy Week 13 when Minnesota has two games against Portland on Monday and at the Clippers on Wednesday. When healthy, Beasley is a must-start Fantasy option in the majority of leagues.
News: According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley was not in the lineup on Thursday against the Wizards. Beasley will rest his ankle after he re-aggravated it on Tuesday. He said on Wednesday that he is having trouble walking this time and could be shut down for a 'couple of days,' which puts Minnesota's game on Saturday in doubt.
Analysis: Beasley will likely miss Saturday's game against Orlando as well, which is bad news for Fantasy owners in weekly formats. Those owners fortunate to be in daily leagues should keep Beasley reserved and insert a healthy alternative. Continue to monitor his progress -- or lack there of -- over the weekend. If Beasley can't go on Saturday, it may be best keeping him benched in Week 13 (Jan. 16-23). The Timbewolves play just two games in the scoring period, so even if Beasley plays there should be better options out there. When healthy, Beasley is a solid start in all Fantasy leagues.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Timberwolves F Michael Beasley (ankle) said after spraining his ankle again on Tuesday that this re-aggravation is worse than his previous ankle sprain suffered on Friday. He called the ankle "bad" and said the difference this time is "I really can't walk this time." When asked if it might be best to shut it down for awhile, he said yes and said the ankle needs rest for "a couple days." Beasley did not practice on Wednesday. The way I feel right now, I ice it a couple times and Ill be good, but well see in the morning," he said following the practice.
Analysis: This likely means that Beasley is going to miss Thursday's game against Washington and Saturday's game against Orlando, though he has yet to be ruled out for either. Fantasy owners in daily lineup leagues will have to seek healthier alternatives and Fantasy owners who took the gamble on Beasley in weekly formats will have nothing to do but monitor him over the weekend before possibly making another tough decision for Fantasy Week 13 (Jan. 16-23). When healthy, he has emerged as a practical must-start in all Fantasy formats.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley had just seven points on a 3-for-11 shooting performance while playing on a sprained left ankle on Tuesday against the Spurs. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Beasley couldn't walk on his ankle after the game and will likely be "shut down for a couple of days to rest."
Analysis: Beasley has been dealing with ankle and hip injuries, but it seems he's not 100 percent. This is bad news for Fantasy owners that are banking on him this week. Fantasy owners in daily formats should look for a health alternative in case he can't go in the next game. When healthy, Beasley has been just about a must-start in most Fantasy leagues. Beasley is a solid start in all Fantasy leagues when he's healthy.
News: Minnesota PF Michael Beasley did not practice on Monday, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Beasley missed the second half of Sunday's game in San Antonio with a sore ankle that he re-tweaked during the game. "It's still a little sore," he said. "But I'm going to try. As of right now, I don't really know." Minnesota plays on Tuesday at San Antonio and Beasley will likely be a game-time decision.
Analysis: Beasley has had to fight through several injury ailments recently and this latest left ankle issue could be one he needs to sit over. He wants to play, but that isn't always the smartest thing. Fantasy owners now have a major injury risk on their hands for Week 12 (Jan.12-16). The Timberwolves are slated for three games and Beasley has proven to be worth the gamble, but be aware that you might not get a full week out of him and that he could be restricted in terms of playing time and productivity if the ankle issue lingers.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley left Sunday's game against the Spurs after tweaking his already injured sprained left ankle. Beasley originally hurt his ankle in Friday's loss to the Blazers but was able to finish the game. He had two points on 1 of 4 shooting from the field prior to leaving in the second quarter with the injury.
Analysis: Beasley has been a bit nicked up of late, and now appears to re-aggravated his already injured left ankle. That doesn't bode well for Fantasy owners who were hoping to have the third-year man out of Kansas State at their disposal heading into Fantasy Week 12 (Jan.12-16), though it should be noted that the report from the team was that he could have returned on Sunday. He will now be a bit of an injury risk heading into the upcoming scoring period due to the possibility of setbacks and possible swelling going forward. . Analysis: Beasley has been having a stellar year for the Timberwolves and has been even better over his last five games. Over that span he's averaging 25.0 points, 3.0 assists and 6.6 rebounds. Playing next to Kevin Love doesn't give Beasley too many chances to get boards, but he does enough in other categories to make him a must-start Fantasy forward.

Analysis: Beasley has struggled a bit in his last two games, and has scored below his season average (21.5) in both. We're not sure if there are any lingering effects of the knee injury that forced him to miss his second game of the season last week or a cold-shooting stretch. Despite the missteps, he is still averaging 20.5 points and 5.7 rebounds in his last six games. Continue playing him as No. 1 Fantasy forward in all formats.

Analysis: Beasley is averaging 20.8 points and 6.8 rebounds over his last five contests. He is enjoying a breakout year in Minnesota thanks to seeing as much as 25 shots in the offense on some nights. He had the ankle re-taped and finished the game, but the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that he could "barely walk" on the ankle following the game. Analysis: Beasley scored 28 points in Friday's loss at San Antonio. He's averaging 19.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and a block per game over his last five. Beasley has really come into his own in Minnesota and should be active at all times in Fantasy, when he's healthy.
News: Timberwolves PF Michael Beasley got in foul trouble early Wednesday at Dallas, playing just two minutes in the first quarter and 11 minutes in the first half. He played 29 minutes total, finishing with 16 points and three rebounds. He's averaging 31.3 minutes over his last three games after averaging 38.1 over his previous eight. "He has to do a much better job not getting those quick, silly, early fouls," coach Kurt Rambis told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. "It disrupts the rotation and his rhythm in the ballgame, too. It hurts any time any team loses a starter at that point in time."
Analysis: Beasley has at least four fouls in six of his last eight games, which is a big reason his minutes are on the decline. The third-year player is having a breakout season for the Timberwolves, averaging 21.2 points and 6.0 rebounds, but he needs to cut down on his fouls for it to continue. He remains a must-start Fantasy forward.
News: After posting just 36 combined points in his last two outings, Timberwolves F Michael Beasley got back to his high-scoring ways on Saturday night against the Warriors. He also had three assists and a blocked shot in the defeat.
Analysis: Beasley has gotten off to a hot start this season and despite his little two-game slide, he is averaging 21.5 points per contest with 1.8 assists and 0.7 blocks. If he can keep up this type of production, he will end up with career numbers in most categories by a long way. He and Kevin Love continue to impress while not stealing stats from each other so consider Beasley a high-end Fantasy forward heading into Week 6 (Nov. 29-Dec. 5).
News: Minnesota forward Michael Beasley produced his lowest point total since Nov. 2 on Wednesday. Beasley shot 5 for 12 from the field -- hitting his lone 3-pointer -- finishing with 11 points. He grabbed nine rebounds and dished out an assist for the Timberwolves, but it wouldn't be enough as they lost to the Spurs, 113-109. He would add a steal and a block in his 30 minutes of action. He also committed three of his four turnovers in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Analysis: Beasley had been averaging 25.1 points over his last 10 games, so his 11 points was disappointing. But he did grab nine boards and shoot a decent percentage from the field -- 41.7 -- which didn't hurt Fantasy owners too much. Beasley is looking for his shot and has a good running mate in Kevin Love up in Minnesota. Fantasy owners should keep Beasley active in all lineups as he's a high-end forward option.
News: Minnesota PF Michael Beasley is apparently done with the mediocre games. He is focused squarely on becoming a scoring superstar for the Wolves. On Wednesday against the Clippers, Beasley scored 33 points, his fifth straight game with at least 25. Beasley shot 14 of 23 from the field and went 2 for 3 from long range. He grabbed seven rebounds and added a block and a steal in the performance. He also dished out one assist. "I think I'm getting there," Beasley said of becoming Minnesota's go-to guy. "Every game coach is finding the confidence in me to close out games. But we've got so many guys that can knock down shots. We're just waiting for our numbers to be called."
Analysis: Beasley has gone 9 for 15 on 3-point attempts in his last five games and is shooting 69 for 124 (56 percent) overall from the field over that span. Over that span, Beasley has averaged 32.6 points, up from his 21.2 ppg average entering Wednesday's game on the year. He's also bringing home 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and almost a block per game over his current five-game stretch. Beasley is red hot at the moment and worth starting in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley put up a third consecutive strong offensive performance in Sunday's game at Atlanta. He shot 10 for 16 from the field and finished with 25 points, which was actually his weakest performance in his last three games. Beasley dropped a career-best 42 points on the Kings eariier in the week and followed that with 35 points against the Knicks his next time out. Beasley is averaging 26.8 points over his last five.
Analysis: Beasley is establishing himself, along with Jevin Love, as a building block for the future in Minnesota. He has attempted 103 shots in his last five games -- an average of 20 shots per game. His rebound totals are still weak for a forward, but that is something that could change as his game continues to develop. He remains a strong play in all formats.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley followed up his career-high 42 points on Wednesday with another stellar outing Friday against the Knicks. The Miami castoff scored a team-high 35 points in a 112-103 win. He got off to a fast start with 10 points in the first quarter. He hit 16 of 29 field goals, grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists and came up with two steals and one blocked shot.
Analysis: Now that Beasley is getting past a hip injury that plagued him for a few games he is going off for the T-Wolves. Beasley and Kevin Love are the two stars in Minnesota, so they should do most of the damage for the T-Wolves on a given night. We have been waiting for this kind of scoring potential from Beasley since he was drafted by Miami in 2008. Now that he is out of the shadow of Dwyane Wade he finally gets a chance to step up. Beasley is a solid start in Fantasy right now.
News: Minnesota PF Michael Beasley had been disappointing heading into Wednesday's game against the Kings. Beasley did not disappoint on Wednesday. He scored a career-high 42 points en route to helping the Wolves win just their second game of the season. Beasley shot 17 of 31 from the field and went 1 of 2 from long range. He added nine rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Analysis: Beasley came into Wednesday's game averaging 14.7 points per contest with just 4.7 rebounds and had his Fantasy owners wondering when he was going to become Minnesota's go-to scorer as was promised before the year. Well, that clearly happened on Wednesday. He's going to have to continue playing well but Beasley definitely has the potential to average at least 20 points per game for the Timberwolves. He should be active in most Fantasy leagues and hopefully will continue to play as he did Wednesday.
News: Minnesota PF Michael Beasley was bothered by pain in his hip early on Tuesday but still managed to play well Tuesday night at Los Angeles. Beasley shot 6 of 15 from the field over 36 minutes and scored 17 points in the loss. He added just one rebound, however, but did have four steals. Beasley turned the ball over five times and committed five personal fouls.
Analysis: Beasley is not blossoming as we thought he might with Minnesota just yet. He is only averaging 14.8 ppg over his last four contests and his 2.8 rebounds per game over that span is even more alarming. He has shown flashes of high-end potential but that hip injury continues to plague him. Monitor his progress but Beasley remains worth using in most Fantasy formats despite his recent poor play.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley, who has been dealing with a bruised hip, was able to log 39 minutes in Tuesday's 99-94 loss to the Lakers. Beasley finished with 17 points on 6 of 15 shooting in the loss and also chipped in with four steals and two dimes.
Analysis: Beasley was listed as questionable coming into the game because of his hip injury, but logged a season-high 39 minutes. Hopefully this means he is over the injury and will be able to start producing at a high level. He is averaging 14.8 points and 2.8 rebounds over his last five games. Beasley should be able to put up decent stats with Minnesota this season and should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy forward, when healthy.
News: Minnesota PF Michael Beasley has been dealing with a bruised hip for a while now and on Tuesday was seen at practice in pain with that hip, reports the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Beasley was seen grimacing and icing his left hip as he walked off the court at Tuesday's shootaround.
Analysis: Beasley has been playing through the hip pain but it keeps sneaking up on him the longer he plays on it. At this point, the best medicine might be sitting out for more than just one game at a time to let it fully heal. He's averaging just 12 points and 3.8 rebounds per game over his last four contests and missed the Nov. 3 game at Orlando. Fantasy owners might be best off sitting Beasley until he can prove 100 percent healthy or close to it again.
News: Timberwolves PF Michael Beasley, who missed Wednesday's game after bruising his left hip Tuesday, will play Friday against the Hawks, according to the team's official website.
Analysis: Beasley has the potential to become a high-end source of points and rebounds, as his 21-point, 10-rebound effort a week ago shows, but he's still trying to establish himself in Minnesota. With Al Jefferson out of town, the door is wide open for him. He's worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy forward when healthy.
News: Timberwolves PF Michael Beasley, who missed Wednesday's game after bruising his left hip Tuesday, participated in practice Thursday. The Timberwolves want to see how he responds before deciding whether or not he'll play Friday against the Hawks, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Analysis: Beasley has yet to establish himself in Minnesota, but his 21-point, 10-rebound effort Friday shows what kind of potential he has. With Al Jefferson out of town, he has an opportunity to step up as one of the team's primary offensive weapons. He's worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy forward when healthy.
News: Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley (hip) missed Wednesday's game against Orlando. Beasley said he would have played if it was up to him, but coach Kurt Rambis didn't want to push him after bruising his left hip during Tuesday's contest against the Miami Heat. Rookie Wesley Johnson started in Beasley's place. Beasley will be questionable for Friday against Atlanta.
Analysis: Beasley has been inconsistent so far this young NBA season, but he has the potential to have a breakout year. He's recorded a double-double in Minnesota already, but also had a poor shooting, six point and six turnover game. While he continues to improve and gain experience, Fantasy owners should view him as a No. 3 forward option. But owners in daily leagues should adjust their lineups accordingly.
News: According to AOL Fanhouse, Timberwolves PF Michael Beasley thinks he'll be able to play Wednesday at the Magic after bruising his left hip in Tuesday's game.
Analysis: Beasley has been up and down so far in his first season with the Timberwolves just like he was for the Heat. His 21-point, 10-rebound effort on Friday shows what kind of potential he has, though. On a rebuilding team like the Timberwolves, he should get plenty of opportunities to maximize that potential. He's a No. 3 Fantasy forward with the upside for more.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley left Tuesday night's game against the Heat with a hip injury. Beasley sustained the injury early in the second quarter when he landed on his left hip while driving to the basket. He was fouled on the play, but was unable to shoot his free-throws, which means he cannot return to the game. Beasley underwent X-rays that came back negative. He has a left hip contusion, which is essentially a bruise. Beasley is day to day.
Analysis: Beasley, who was facing his former team for the first time, was playing pretty well prior to the injury. Minnesota plays on Wednesday against the Magic, so there is a more than good chance he will miss that game as well. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor the situation for more details when they become available. Beasley can be considered a No. 3 Fantasy forward, when healthy.
News: The Timberwolves exercised their contract option on F Michael Beasley prior to Monday's deadline. Beasley will not be a free agent this summer as a result. Beasley averaged 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game during the first week of the regular season.
Analysis: Beasley had a poor game on Saturday in Memphis, otherwise his numbers would have been even better -- especially on the scoring end. He is a breakout candidate this season playing more minutes and with more responsibility than he did in his time with the Heat. He is a highly talented player and while he may have some flaws as a defender, that should not matter much to Fantasy owners. He remains a solid play in any format.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley struggled on Saturday night at Memphis, committing six turnovers and playing just 21 minutes. He shot 2 for 6 from the field and finished with six points and five rebounds. Beasley had played well in the first two games of the season.
Analysis: We'll chalk this up as a rough night for now. Beasley scored 17 points with seven boards in the opener and had 21-and-10 in the second game. Fantasy owners have been frustrated by his inconsistency during his brief career, but Beasley should get more opportunities to put his potential on display in Minnesota this season and we still view him as a strong candidate for a breakout season. Start him in any format despite this small setback.
News:Michael Beasley had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and the Minnesota Timberwolves pounded the Milwaukee Bucks on the boards in a 96-85 victory on Friday night. Beasley went 8 of 14 from the field, including 2 of 3 from 3-point range. Beasley rounded out his night with two assists and one steal. Beasley is hitting 46.7 percent (14 for 30) of his shots through the first two games.
Analysis: A lot of folks are excited to see what Beasley can do now that he is out of Miami. He is averaging 19 points in his first two games with Minnesota and is quickly becoming one of the team's best offensive players. He might just be better suited for what Minnesota has to offer and might finally live up to his full potential as a first-round pick. Consider Beasley a good play in Fantasy.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley played in his first regular season game with his new team on Wednesday night against the Kings. He played just over 34 minutes, scoring 17 points on 6 of 16 shooting in the 117-116 loss. He made his lone attempt from 3-point land and went 4 for 6 from the charity stripe. Beasley, who was acquired from Miami in the offseason, also grabbed seven boards and chipped in with an assist in the defeat.
Analysis: Beasley averaged 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and a steal and block over eight preseason games but dwarfed those numbers in the season opener. After falling out of favor with the Heat, the former No. 2 overall pick could be in line for a huge season in Minnesota. His scoring skills are obvious and, as long as he can stay out of trouble, view Beasley as a potential breakout candidate as a No. 3 forward with upside for much, much more.
News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Michael Beasley got a great vote of support from teammate Kevin Love on Sunday. When asked about Beasley's quiet preseason, Love answered with optimism. "Mike's fine, he'll be fine," Love said. "He's what, 21 years old? So he'll figure it out. The game comes to him so easy. He'll be more than OK. He's going to score in bunches. He's going to have nights where he's going to be spectacular."
Analysis: Beasley averaged 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and a steal and block over eight preseason games. That was while playing just 21 minutes per game in an uninspiring preseason context, so there is no real reason to be concerned with his production. We think Beasley will have possibly his best season yet under new circumstances in Minnesota this season and view him as a potential breakout candidate as a No. 3 forward with upside for much, much more.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley had another strong showing in Tuesday's preseason game against the Nuggets. Beasley scored 21 points on 6 of 17 shooting while logging 25 minutes. He had four rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in the 122-98 win.
Analysis: So far it appears Beasley has enjoyed his fresh start in Minnesota. He has averaged 18.3 points and five rebounds over his first three preseason games and has been more assertive than he was in Miami on the court. Beasley will have a more prominent role with the Timberwolves then he did with the Heat and we like him as a breakout candidate this season. Consider him a sleeper in the middle rounds on Draft Day.
News: Timberwolves F Michael Beasley had an impressive preseason debut with his new team in London against the Lakers. He shot 8 for 10 from the field and finished the game with 21 points. He also added four rebounds, three steals and a block. He did commit six turnovers, however. "You can see Beasley is a very talented player," Minnesota coach Kurt Rambis said. "He's got a lot of enthusiasm and passion. He freelanced a little bit too much for me, but that's the way he is. He can create his own shots. I expect him to be a major contributor for us this year."
Analysis: Beasley joined the Timberwolves after the Miami Heat acquired LeBron James and Chris Bosh. He will get a fresh start in Minnesota after a disappointing brief career in Miami. It was disappointing mostly because of the high expectations that Beasley brought with him as the No. 2 overall pick a couple of seasons ago. There is talent here, to be sure, and we like him as a breakout candidate this season given the fact that he'll play a prominent role in Minnesota. That may come on or off the bench, but we expect big things either way.
News: The Timberwolves and Heat completed their trade Monday, sending Michael Beasley north to Minnesota for two second-round picks and cash considerations. "We had to do this," Timberwolves president David Kahn said Monday night in a conference call from Las Vegas, where the Timberwolves are playing in the summer league. "It just made too much sense." The Heat made the move to clear cap room to re-sign Dwyane Wade and bring in Chris Bosh and LeBron James. The Heat get Minnesota's second-round picks in 2011 and 2014. "He's 21. That's the thing that sometimes gets lost in this," Kahn said. "These kids are all so young and to be thrust into this kind of world is a lot for anybody." For all the issues he has seemingly dealt with in his short career, Beasley has still shown the potential to be an impact player.
Analysis: Beasley was a much-celebrated No. 2 overall selection in 2008. He averaged 14.8 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Heat last season, starting all 78 games he played. He topped 25 points in a game seven times and could give the Timberwolves the kind of explosive offensive player they will sorely need if Al Jefferson is indeed traded. "There should be still a tremendous amount of upside there," Kahn said of Beasley. "We like his versatility and his athleticism. If we do trade Al, he provides some comfort there is some scoring punch in case that occurs." He'll be an interesting sleeper in the middle rounds as a No. 3 or 4 forward with upside. Having no one in his way to being a team-leading scorer, Beasley could really take off as a Fantasy star.
News: The Miami Heat traded Michael Beasley to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday. In exchange, the Heat received a 2011 second-round draft pick and the teams agreed to exchange future first-round picks.
Analysis: This move was necessitated by the acquisition of LeBron James and Chris Bosh as the team had to shed payroll in order to make the numbers work. In exchange, the T'Wolves could be getting a steal as they'll get the former second overall pick in the draft for basically nothing. He has been disappointing, yes, but he is entering just his third NBA season and should improve upon the 14.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists he averaged last fall. He'll be an interesting sleeper in the middle rounds as a No. 3 or 4 forward with upside.
News: Heat team president Pat Riley said during a news conference Monday that second-year forward Michael Beasley is making strides. "We feel like he's going to be on track," Riley said. Beasley, however, did not improve like many in the organization hoped, reports the Sports Xchange. Considering Beasley's final act this season was being benched for the second half of the playoff series-ending loss to the Celtics, it would appear that a parting would be in the best interest of all parties. While Beasley should be able to produce breakout numbers on a team less caught up in pick-and-roll offense and defensive efficiency, his value is such that the best net gain in a deal for the Heat could be additional cap space.
Analysis: Beasley had his moments during his second year with the Heat, averaging 14.8 points and 6.4 rebounds, but he often sat during the fourth quarter of games and his lack of defense cost him valuable playing time. He has the potential to be a double-double threat, but it might not happen with the Heat. Keep an eye on what happens this offseason and if he's traded or if the Heat bring in more talent to either replace him or enhance his production. Regardless, he is worth drafting in all leagues with a mid-round pick since his potential is vast, and he could develop into a star.
News: Miami F Michael Beasley had his best performance of the playoffs on Friday against the Celtics. Beasley scored 16 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field. He also added six rebounds in 29 minutes.
Analysis: Beasley had a very up-and-down season during 2009/10. He averaged 14.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. While those numbers aren't horrible, much more has been expected of Beasley since he was a No. 2 overall pick just two years back. One night he was putting up 20 points and the next, he was failing to score in double figures. The former Kansas State star is still just 21 years old and has plenty of upside, but could end up with a different team depending on how the Heat do in free agency. Fantasy owners will have to keep an eye on this situation because Beasley should make a viable No. 3 Fantasy forward heading into the 2010/11 season.
News: After a 28-point outburst against the Pistons on Wednesday, Heat F Michael Beasley cooled off, scoring 12 points against the Pacers on Friday. Beasley shot 6 of 17 from the field while adding seven boards, two blocks and a steal in 30 minutes. He has scored in double figures in three of his last five games.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 13 points and 5.2 rebounds over his last five contests. The biggest knock against him is that he is inconsistent with his scoring and minutes. Until that changes, he is a No. 3 Fantasy forward with plenty of upside.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley had 28 points with nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in Wednesday's game at Detroit. He had scored a combined 10 points in his two previous games.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds and remains a major headache to Fantasy owners because he has this type of upside, but is far too inconsistent. Fantasy owners will have to continue to view him as a No. 3 forward with upside until that changes.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley scored 15 points in a win over the Bulls on Thursday. Beasley shot 7 of 15 from the field while adding four rebounds and an assist in 20 minutes. He has now scored 15 or more points in three consecutive games.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 12.2 points over his last five games. Hopefully for Fantasy owners, Beasley can continue to maintain the production he has exhibited over his last three contests. As long as he plays at this level, he makes a solid No. 2 Fantasy forward.
News: For the second consecutive game, Heat F Michael Beasley scored 16 points Monday night against the Nets. Beasley shot 8 of 16 from the floor while grabbing five boards and blocking two shots.
Analysis: Beasley appears to be hovering around his season average of 15.1 points by having two 16-point performances since his return from an injury. He has also averaged six boards during that span and as long as Beasley performs at this level, he makes for a solid No. 2 Fantasy forward.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley scored 16 points to help the Heat defeat the Bobcats on Saturday. Beasley shot 6 of 16 from the field while grabbing seven boards and swatting away two shots. It was the first time in his last three games that he has scored in double digits.
Analysis: Beasley has averaged just 10 points over his last three contests. However, he was returning from an injury and is likely getting back into the swing of things. With the Heat playing four games during Fantasy Week 22 (March 22-28), Beasley is capable of putting 15-plus points on the board every night and can be used as a quality Fantasy option in all formats.
News: After missing two games from his bruised left thigh, Miami PF Michael Beasley was back in action Tuesday against the Spurs. He managed 19 minutes and shot just 3 of 10 from the floor to score six points. He grabbed five rebounds to go with it.
Analysis: Beasley definitely wasn't at his best on Tuesday as he's the Heat's second-leading scorer. Make sure he can return to his normal numbers before the end of the Fantasy week before you decide to activate him in Week 22 (March 22-29).
News: Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley sat out his second game in a row because of a bruised left thigh. The Heat's second-leading scorer, Beasley tested his thigh in drills before their game Sunday against Philadelphia, but he was still hampered by the injury. Joel Anthony started in Beasley's place. The Heat hope Beasley can play Tuesday against San Antonio. He was injured Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Analysis: Fantasy owners will have to keep track of Beasley's status heading into Fantasy Week 21 (March 15-21). The Heat play three times with an unfavorable schedule so start Beasley at your own risk.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley (thigh) will not play in Sunday's game against Philadelphia, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He is "likely" to return Tuesday against San Antonio.
Analysis: According to the report, Beasley was still unable to push off his bruised left thigh. He will be a mild injury risk for Fantasy Week 21 (March 15-21). The Heat play three games during the scoring period. Start him at your own peril.
News: Heat forward Michael Beasley missed Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls with a bruised left thigh. Beasley is Miami's second-leading scorer this season, averaging 15.3 points. Joel Anthony, often the team's backup center, started in Beasley's place. The Heat hope Beasley can play Sunday against Philadelphia. He was injured against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily leagues should keep tabs on Beasley's progress heading into Sunday against Philadelphia. If he is unable to play, Udonis Haslem could be a nice stopgap in place of Beasley because of his double-double ability.
News: According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Heat F Michael Beasley will not play Friday night against Chicago. Beasley did not participate in shootaround Friday morning and was considered a game-time decision.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in daily lineup leagues should adjust lineups accordingly. Udonis Haslem is likely to see a boost in minutes and touches as a result and could make for a viable stopgap option in daily lineup leagues. Treat Beasley as day-to-day and questionable for Sunday's game against the Sixers.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley (thigh) did not participate in shootaround Friday morning. He is considered a game-time decision. He got hit in the thigh in the third quarter of Wednesday's win against the Los Angeles Clippers. I would guess that he probably won't be ready tonight, but we'll see," coach Erik Spoelstra told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Analysis: Beasley does not appear likely to play Friday night. Fantasy owners in daily lineup leagues should plan accordingly. Udonis Haslem is likely to see a boost in minutes and touches as a result and could make for a viable stopgap option in daily lineup leagues.
News: Heat forward Michael Beasley has a bruised left thigh and is listed as a game-time decision for Miami's key game against the Chicago Bulls on Friday night. He got hit in the thigh in the third quarter of Wednesday's win against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Analysis: Beasley is Miami's second-leading scorer behind Dwyane Wade, averaging 15.3 points per game. Fantasy owners in daily lineup formats should have alternatives prepared for Friday night. Udonis Haslem will likely see a quick Fantasy boost if he misses time.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley scored 15 points Wednesday against the Clippers before leaving with a thigh bruise late in the third quarter. He shot 6 of 10 from the field before leaving and grabbed three rebounds.
Analysis: Beasley sometimes seems like he doesn't know how to co-exist with Dwyane Wade doing all the scoring but he remains a worthy Fantasy start in any format. Hopefully this injury isn't too serious but check back leading into the Heat's next game on Friday against the Bulls.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds over 27 minutes on Tuesday in a loss at Charlotte. He shot 4 for 8 from the field and also picked up a steal.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging just 11 points, 5.0 rebounds and a steal per game over his last five. He scored 22 points in his previous game to stop a funk but it seems he just took a temporary leave. With everybody healthy for Miami, it seems Beasley sometimes doesn't get his looks. He can be utilized in the majority of Fantasy leagues but realize he's not playing as he was earlier this year.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley shot just 5 for 14 and had 10 points and seven rebounds in a loss to Milwaukee on Saturday. "I feel like it's more my fault than anybody else's," Beasley said. "Maybe if I could have grabbed a couple more rebounds and knocked down a couple more shots, we could have gotten on a roll." It was lowest scoring total in his last five starts.
Analysis: Beasley has cooled down since catching fire in Dwyane Wade's absence. He has failed to score 20 or more in three straight games but is averaging 17.8 points over his last five contests to go along with 7.6 rebounds and 2.2 steals. Until D-Wade returns to the Heat lineup, Beasley will be the focal point for scoring. He is still a solid start in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Miami defeated the Grizzlies in Memphis in double overtime on Friday night and with Dwyane Wade out, it was power forward Michael Beasley who led them. Beasley scored a career-high 30 points on 13 of 25 shooting. He added eight rebounds, three steals and a block.
Analysis: Beasley has absolutely gone off with Wade out of the lineup. Since Wade went down, Beasley is averaging 27 points, almost 10 boards, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game in two contests. This could be the beginning of Beasley's entrance into Fantasy elite status, so take heed.
News:Michael Beasley had 23 points and 11 rebounds and the Miami Heat overcame the early loss of All-Star MVP Dwyane Wade in beating the New Jersey Nets 87-84 on Wednesday night for their season-high fourth straight victory. Beasley helped pick up Wade's slack, as the second-year forward went 10 of 17 from the field. Beasley did pick up four fouls, but he came away with two steals and two blocked shots in 33 minutes.
Analysis: Beasley only took off the knee brace on his right knee on Tuesday. However, Wednesday's performance gives us hope that Beasley can either play through the pain or is getting closer to 100 percent. The Kansas State product hasn't quite been the slam-dunk Fantasy option we had hoped for when he was drafted last year. However, he has shown vast improvement in 2009-10. There are rumors swirling that Beasley might be traded for a big fish, but he remains with the Heat for the time being. Keep him active in most Fantasy formats.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley has been cleared to play without his knee brace, reports the Sun-Sentinel on Tuesday. He has now fully recovered from his hyper-extension.
Analysis: Beasley is clearly not out of the woods yet with this knee brace issue. He was allowed to remove it before the Rookie-Sophomore game at All-Star weekend but had it back on by halftime. He practiced with the brace on Monday as well. There is no telling how his knee will hold up until he actually plays in a game. He is not a threat to miss any time, however, and remains worth using in most Fantasy leagues in Week 17 (Feb. 15-21).
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley practiced on Monday with a brace on his right knee, reports the Miami Herald. Beasley has been depending on the knee brace off and on for a while now. He declared on Friday before the Rookie-Sophomore game that he no longer needed the knee brace, only to break it out and use it by halftime in that game for young NBA stars in the making. He continued to use the brace on Monday in practice as well.
Analysis: Although the knee brace doesn't seem to be stopping Beasley from playing in any games, he doesn't like it and clearly wants to finally be rid of it. That seems to be a few days away yet, however. It certainly could begin to bother his performance and since he finished the first half of the season averaging just 11.4 points and 7.0 boards per game in his final five before the All-Star break, including just 7.7 PPG in the final three, it appears it is already hindering his numbers. Fortunately for Beasley and unfortunately for Fantasy owners, Miami plays four times with a favorable schedule in Week 17 (Feb. 15-21). Beasley is definitely a risky play but with four games, he's still worth using in most Fantasy formats.
News: Miami F Michael Beasley shot just 3 of 11 from the field as the Heat defeated the Hawks 94-76 on Wednesday. In just 23 minutes of play, Beasley scored seven points while adding eight rebounds, two steals, and one block. It was the second time in his last three games that Beasley has failed to reach double figures.
Analysis: Beasley has seen a decrease in production over his last five games, scoring just 11.4 points per game over that span. He is adding seven boards however. The Heat will need Beasley to increase his production so the Heat can keep playoff hopes alive. With some needed rest for the All-Star break, Beasley can be a solid No. 4 Fantasy forward when the NBA returns to action in Fantasy Week 17 (Feb. 15-21).
News: Heat PF Michael Beasley scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a solid all-around game against Cleveland on Thursday. He added three assists, two steals and two blocks. He shot 9 of 14 from the field, including 1 of 2 from long range.
Analysis: Owners should be relieved Beasley is over his knee issue, as he's become a very consistent player. Over the past five games he's averaging 16.7 points and 7.0 rebounds, right around what he averaged for the past two months and his season average of 15.9 and 6.6. He is solid No. 3 Fantasy forward.
News: The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Michael Beasley will experiment with his third different knee brace Wednesday night in Boston. Beasley said the brace he felt "sluggish" with the last brace he wore in his first game back from a hyperextended knee Monday against Milwaukee.
Analysis: If Beasley was sluggish, it did not show in his production as he was just about dead on with his season averages with 16 points and five rebounds. He'll continue to play with a brace until he feels 100 percent past the knee injury and Fantasy owners don't have to feel too worried about it at this point. As long as he's healthy, he remains a quality play.
News: Miami F Michael Beasley played with a large, bulky knee brace protecting his hyperextended right knee on Monday and scored 16 points as the Heat fell 97-81 to Milwaukee. Beasley played 28 minutes and shot 6 of 16 from the field while adding five rebounds and two steals.
Analysis: This is good news for Fantasy owners. Despite having some discomfort with the brace, Beasley was able to have a decent game on Monday and will only improve over the next few games. When healthy, Beasely has averaged 16 points per game this season and nearly seven rebounds. He remains a solid Fantasy option.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley (knee) is expected to return for Monday's game against Milwaukee, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He will wear a knee brace.
Analysis: Beasley was a big question mark coming into the week, but this news makes it a bit easier to rely on him in weekly formats for Fantasy Week 15 (Feb. 1-7). The report did add that the brace was making Beasley somewhat uncomfortable and that means he may not be 100 percent. However, with the Heat playing four games, he remains a solid play now that it sounds like he'll be available for all four. Beware of setbacks.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley will be a game-time decision for Monday's game against the Bucks after further testing confirmed a hyperextended right knee.
Analysis: Beasley's injury came at a time when he was playing well, with seven games of at least 20 points and three double-doubles in the month of January. Beasley remains a huge injury risk for Fantasy Week 15. Monitor his status Closely.
News: Heat PF Michael Beasley was held out of Saturday's game against the Bucks due to a hyperextended right knee. He suffered the injury Wednesday and has now missed two straight games. Center Joel Anthony started in Beasley's place.
Analysis: Beasley's injury came at a time when he was playing well, with seven games of at least 20 points and three double-doubles in the month of January. Anthony isn't a Fantasy option even if he does get extended minutes as he doesn't have much of an offensive game to speak of, averaging only 2.8 points a game this season. Beasley remains a huge injury risk for Fantasy Week 15. Monitor his status Closely.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley (knee) did not play in Friday's game against Detroit in which the Heat won 92-65. He is likely to miss Saturday's game against Milwaukee as well.
Analysis: Beasley suffered a hyperextended knee in Wednesday's game against Toronto. The injury looked serious at the time, but Beasley has expressed optimism that he will be back soon. He will be a huge injury risk for Fantasy Week 15 (Feb. 1-7) if he can't get back on the floor Saturday, which seems highly unlikely. Udonis Haslem will enjoy a Fantasy boost in his absence.
News: According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Heat F Michael Beasley (knee) did not practice Friday. He has been ruled out for Friday's game against Detroit and is likely to miss Saturday's game in Milwaukee as well.
News: Coach Erik Spoelstra listed Michael Beasley as "game-time, if not doubtful" for Friday's matchup with the Detroit Pistons, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Beasley hyperextended his knee in the first quarter of Wednesday's game against Toronto. He was immediately taken to the locker room for an examination. He returned to the game briefly in the second quarter wearing a brace on his knee, but sat out the second half. "I got the ice on it," Beasley said after the game, "it's a little sore right now but I can run and jump so I should be ready for the next one."
Analysis: While Beasley reported continued soreness in his right knee, the team's training staff Thursday detected no swelling related to the hyperextension he suffered. Spoelstra said Beasley received "several hours" of treatment Thursday. "Mike wants to play. We didn't send him home for a reason, that there's a possibility he could play at some point on this trip," Spoelstra said, with the three-game swing ending Saturday in Milwaukee. It does appear that he's dodged a bullet as far a long-term injury, but there is a distinct possibility he misses a few games. We would be shocked to see him on the floor Friday. Monitor his status leading up to Fantasy Week 15 (Feb. 1-7).
News: Heat PF Michael Beasley hyperextended his knee in the first quarter of Wednesday's game against Toronto. He was immediately taken to the locker room for an examination. He returned to the game briefly in the second quarter wearing a brace on his knee, but sat out the second half. "I got the ice on it," Beasley said after the game, "it's a little sore right now but I can run and jump so I should be ready for the next one." He played only eight minutes, scoring six points and grabbing six rebounds.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should be thankful Beasley does not appear to be seriously injured. He had been playing well, with seven games of at least 20 points and three double-doubles in the month of January. If healthy he should be used in all Fantasy formats.
News: Miami F Michael Beasley scored 21 points and added 13 rebounds as the Heat defeated Sacramento 115-84 on Saturday. Beasley played 35 minutes shooting 8 of 15 from the field and adding four assists. It was his second double-double in his last eight games.
Analysis: Beasley has clearly taken his game to another level this year for the Heat and has been one of their more consistent scorers. He does not grab as many rebounds for a power forward as Fantasy owner would like but he is capable of pulling down double figures on any given night making him a solid Fantasy option.
News: Heat PF Michael Beasley continued his impressive play, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against the Pacers Tuesday. It marked the seventh time in 11 games he finished with more than 20 points. Beasley shot 9 of 15 from the field, including 2 of 3 from downtown. It was his seventh double-double of the season.
Analysis: Beasley is experiencing no sophomore slump, averaging 17.5 points per game since December. Combine that with 6.6 rebounds and he's a Fantasy starter. If only he could get to the foul line more than 3.6 times a game.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley scored 28 points on Saturday in a loss at Oklahoma City. Beasley shot 13 of 24 from the field and added six rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: The former Kansas State one-and-done has scored at least 20 points five times in nine January contests thus far and is averaging almost 18 per night thus far in 2010. That comes with 6.2 boards and almost a three per night. Fantasy owners hope he could improve his rebounding but they'll take his scoring and continue to use him in all Fantasy formats.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley nailed four threes en route to scoring 20 points in a loss at Utah on Monday. Beasley added five boards and a block.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 17.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and over a three per game over his last five. The threes could become an exciting new wrinkle in Beasley's developing NBA game and could bring him to the next level. He's already worth starting in most leagues at all times.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley continued his solid recent play, scoring 20 points with seven rebounds and two assists against the Clippers Sunday. It was his third 20-point game in his last three contests.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 16.4 points and 7.2 rebounds over his last five games and is also averaging 1.2 steals in that span. He is playing well-rounded, consistent ball of late and remains a must-start in all leagues. Especially with a favorable four-game slate in Week 12 (Jan. 11-17).
News: Heat F Michael Beasley tied a career high Monday night scoring 20 of his 22 points in the first half against the Hawks. He also added eight rebounds and three assists.
Analysis: Beasley is continuing 2010 the same way he left 2009 averaging 18 points per game in January. As Beasley continues to mature and become more comfortable with the offense, he will solidify himself as a No.2 Fantasy forward.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley had 26 points and eight rebounds Thursday at San Antonio, putting him over 20 points for the first time in six games. He had averaged 13.6 points over his previous five.
Analysis: Beasley averaged 17.3 points in 14 December games, which is still a big improvement for him. He's beginning to show his potential after getting off to a slow start this season and is worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy forward.
News: Miami F Michael Beasley was much better offensively on Friday in a win over the Knicks. Beasley, who scored only five points on 2 for 10 shooting Wednesday against Utah, managed to put up 19 points in a win over the Knicks on Christmas. He added two rebounds to his stat line as well.
Analysis: Since scoring 28 points and grabbing 11 boards on Dec. 15 against Toronto, Beasley has failed to record a double-digit rebounding game and has scored more than 20 points only once. However, he still puts up enough stats most of the time to be worth using in nearly all Fantasy formats and he still has plenty of upside.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley rebounded from a six-point, four-rebound performance in his previous game with a monster output on Tuesday night in a win over the Raptors. Beasley shot 11 of 19 from the floor and scored a game-high-tying 28 points, which ties his career high, to go with 11 rebounds. He also had a blocked shot. "I had attitude. I've still got attitude," Beasley said. "I think it's been long enough for me playing average. I'm just kind of mad at myself for not stepping out of the box. I'm kind of angry right now."
Analysis: This was Beasley's second double-double in three games. He continues to score at a high level on most occasions and Tuesday marked a new season high for the second-year player. His numbers keep getting better and he's now worth owning, at least, in every Fantasy format.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley recorded a double-double on Friday night during a loss to Dallas. The former Kansas State star played just under 40 minutes and scored 16 points on 7 of 19 shooting with 11 rebounds. He added three assists.
Analysis: Beasley recorded his fourth double-double of the season on Friday and is averaging 15.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this season. His numbers keep getting better and he's now worth owning, at least, in every Fantasy format. That said, Miami is one of only eight teams to play fewer than four times in Week 8 (Dec. 14-20). That limits his value but he's still worth using in deeper leagues.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley scored 12 points on Friday in a loss to the Lakers. He shot 6 of 8 from the field over 29 minutes and added six rebounds and a block.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 15.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season and is clearly worth starting in the majority of Fantasy leagues consistently. That said, keep him inactive where possible in Week 7 (Dec. 7-13). The Heat play just twice during that period.
News: Heat PF Michael Beasley scored a season-high 27 points, one off his career high, Tuesday at Portland. He also had eight rebounds. He's averaging 19.0 points and 9.1 rebounds over his last seven games.
Analysis: Beasley didn't look completely comfortable in a starting role earlier this season, but he has since found his form. He has the upside of a No. 2 Fantasy forward, and he's playing every bit like one right now.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley continues to see an increase in scoring lately and that trend continued on Sunday against Boston. Beasley finished the game 7 for 14 from the field, scoring 18 points. He added seven rebounds, a block and two steals to his stat line.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 17 points per game over his last five games, which is 2.5 points more than his season average. He continues to develop in his second NBA season and has the potential to be a high-end player. However, he is just a No. 3 Fantasy option for now.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley scored 21 points on Wednesday at Atlanta. He shot 8 of 15 from the field and picked up nine rebounds. He added a block as well.
Analysis: Beasley scored a career-high 24 points against Cleveland but combined to score just 15 over his next two games before going over 20 again on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that is what you will get from him for the near future. He has loads of upside but disappears at times. He still has high-end potential, but he's not worth using as more than a No. 3 Fantasy forward right now.
News: Heat PF Michael Beasley, who hadn't scored 20 points since the season opener, scored a season-high 24 on Thursday against the Cavaliers. He also had six rebounds, two steals and a block.
Analysis: Beasley has gotten a chance to start this season, but he hasn't been able to do much scoring with Dwyane Wade going off every night. He still has high-end potential, but he's not worth using as more than a No. 3 Fantasy forward right now.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley suffered his first game of under double digits in scoring on Friday as he scored seven points in 31 minutes in a win over the Nuggets. Beasley shot 3 of 8 from the field and hit a three. He added three rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Analysis: Beasley had scored at least 10 points in every game this season and still averages 12 for the year with 5.7 rebounds. He's not yet playing like a No. 3 Fantasy forward but that is where his value currently lies.
News: Injuries to his shoulder and thumb couldn't slow Heat PF Michael Beasley on Wednesday in the season opener against the Knicks. Beasley played 36 minutes and shot 9 of 14 to score 21 points. He grabbed three boards, picked up two steals and also blocked a shot.
Analysis: Beasley had a great first game of the season on Wednesday and showed the promise that we all know he has. He should be a solid No. 3 Fantasy F this season with the propensity for much more.
News: Heat second-year PF Michael Beasley, coming off an offseason of turmoil, is ready for the start of the season. "He's making progress. I like what he's done this preseason. I do," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "I keep on pointing to his focus, but I think we were able to cover a lot more ground. I see a quicker application from practice to the games. ... And defensively, he's done some things that I like. He needs to keep on going." Beasley is battling shoulder and thumb injuries, but he'll start at power forward Wednesday against the Knicks.
Analysis: Beasley spent some of this offseason in a rehabilitation facility for substance abuse, but he had a good preseason. He spent most of last season coming off the bench, so his promotion to the starting lineup this season is a noteworthy development. He averaged 20.6 points and 8.5 rebounds in eight games when he got a chance to start last April. He's a No. 3 Fantasy forward for now, but he has the upside for more.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley has been thrown into another photo flap. Seven pictures of the Miami Heat forward asleep on a boat have been posted on celebrity website TMZ.com, including one with several beer bottles and cans on a nearby table. The pictures were taken on a team outing earlier this month. The 20-year-old Beasley said Saturday that he does not drink, and the ship's captain released a statement saying the player did not "consume or even touch" alcohol on the trip. Team officials also insisted Beasley did nothing wrong.
Analysis: Another compromising photo was posted to Beasley's now-closed Twitter account over the summer, around the time he was a patient at a Houston rehabilitation facility, receiving treatment for substance abuse. Beasley said he now values sobriety. He will get a chance to start at small forward and has played well this preseason. He averaged 20.6 points and 8.5 rebounds in eight games when he got a chance to start in April. Expect to use him as a No. 3 Fantasy forward at the start of the year, but he has the upside for more. He is dealing with shoulder and thumb injuries, but they aren't expected to keep him out of the team's opener on Wednesday against the Knicks.
News: Heat PF Michael Beasley missed another preseason game with a bruised shoulder and bruised thumb Thursday against the Hawks, but according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, he should return to practices this weekend and be fine for the season opener against the Knicks on Wednesday.
Analysis: Beasley will get a chance to start at small forward and has played well this preseason, putting to rest any concerns after he spent a month in a drug rehabilitation center in the offseason. He averaged 20.6 points and 8.5 rebounds in eight games when he got a chance to start in April. Expect to use him as a No. 3 Fantasy forward at the start of the year, but he has the upside for more.
News: Miami was without Michael Beasley on Wednesday against the Grizzlies, sidelined with shoulder and thumb ailments that won't keep him out of the Oct. 28 opener against the Knicks. Beasley will travel for Thursday's game against Atlanta and wants to play, Spoelstra said.
Analysis: Beasley has played well this preseason and looks like he could take off as a starter in his second NBA season. He comes with some baggage, but he's worth drafting as a No. 2 Fantasy forward with the upside for more. These injuries should not keep him out of any Fantasy format.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley, the No. 2 overall draft pick in 2008, had 11 points and 11 rebounds in 28 minutes Thursday against the Hornets. He's trying to make the conversion from power to small forward and put behind him a monthlong stint at a drug rehabilitation center in the offseason. The 20-year-old came into the preseason in better shape than a year ago and seems to have a better grasp on the NBA game. He shot 5 of 11 and had three assists -- along with a few defensive mistakes in the post -- after scoring 24 points in 38 minutes against Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
Analysis: Beasley has played well this preseason and looks like he could take off as a starter in his second NBA season. He comes with some baggage, but he's worth drafting as a No. 2 Fantasy forward with the upside for more.
News:Michael Beasley said that an offseason stay in a rehabilitation facility was his "lowest hour," denied that he has a substance abuse problem and apologized to the Miami Heat organization. Beasley would not reveal any specific details of the treatment he received in Houston, other than acknowledging that he became "pretty upset" upon learning his stay would be considerably longer than first planned. That anger, he said, sparked a wave of troubling messages posted on his now-closed Twitter feed. "Being locked down for as long as I was gave me a chance to really get my life organized and get back in touch with myself," Beasley said. "I think over this past year, I've got caught up in the NBA life, as most of us do. I think this gave me the perfect opportunity to just sit down and evaluate my life and get the good separated from the bad."
Analysis: In a 17-minute session with three reporters, Beasley was asked if he has a substance abuse issue. "No, sir," was the response. He also does not expect to face further NBA sanction, though acknowledged that he expects any further violations of the league's substance abuse program would bring a suspension. Beasley said he was able to spend between 60 and 90 minutes daily working out at the rehab facility. The Heat shuttled many staff members to Houston to work with Beasley daily, including head coach Erik Spoelstra, who personally saw the second-year forward three times. Fantasy owners will still consider him a promising young forward worth drafting as a No. 2 option in most leagues, but he does come with some measure of risk.
News:Michael Beasley is back with the Miami Heat. The second-year forward out of Kansas State worked out with teammates at the Heat practice facility Monday. He was released from a Houston rehabilitation center this weekend after a month-long stay.
Analysis: Beasley easily passed his team conditioning test, said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, adding that Miami is "100 percent" behind the forward. Beasley finished his rookie season as Miami's second-leading scorer behind Wade, averaging 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds. The Heat plan for this season include using Beasley at both small forward and power forward, and Riley said that hasn't changed even though Beasley hasn't been around teammates for several weeks. Fantasy owners will still consider him a promising young forward worth drafting as a No. 2 option in most leagues.
News:Michael Beasley is in daily contact with the Miami Heat and is working out under the direction of team personnel, with plans of being with the team when training camp begins later this month.
Analysis: Heat president Pat Riley said earlier this month that he's "confident ... very confident" Beasley will have a strong season for Miami and insisted he still strongly believes in the No. 2 overall pick from the 2008 draft. Riley could not reveal specifics about the manner of treatment Beasley is receiving, citing privacy concerns. Those close to Beasley, including his personal manager Bruce Shingler, have said repeatedly in recent weeks that they are not willing to discuss the exact details of the treatment.Beasley finished his rookie season as Miami's second-leading scorer behind Wade, averaging 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds. The Heat plan for this season include using Beasley at both small forward and power forward, and Riley said that hasn't changed even though Beasley hasn't been around teammates for several weeks. Fantasy owners will still consider him a promising young forward worth drafting as a No. 2 option in most leagues.
News:Michael Beasley of the Miami Heat is being treated for depression-related issues at a Houston rehabilitation facility, a person briefed on the situation told the Associated Press on Monday.
Analysis: Beasley checked into the facility last week, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of privacy concerns. It's unknown how long Beasley will remain at the facility, or whether he will be available when the Heat open training camp on Sept. 28. A photo of the No. 2 pick in the 2008 NBA draft was posted Friday to his Twitter account, in which Beasley displays a new tattoo across his shoulders. The image also captures what appeared to be a small plastic bag on an adjacent table, the contents of which were unclear.
News: Yahoo! Sports reports that Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley checked into an unidentified Houston rehabilitation hospital over the weekend. Sources said the Heat encouraged Beasley to check into the facility to address possible substance and psychological issues.
Analysis: Beasley was the subject of some intrigue over the last week due mostly to a photo that was posted on his personal Twitter page which featured a pair of plastic baggies that have been speculated to have contain drugs. Beasley was fined $50,000 by the league last season for being in a room where marijuana was found at the NBAs rookie symposium. He has been criticized in the past for his immaturity and this latest incident further brings Beasley's personality into question. Fantasy owners will still consider him a promising young forward worth drafting as a No. 2 option in most leagues, but this has to be taken into account.
News: The Miami Herald reports the Heat might experiment with moving Michael Beasley from power forward to small forward this offseason. It's a change that could have Beasley in the starting lineup next season alongside Udonis Haslem instead of spending another year behind him. Coach Erik Spoelstra would not commit Monday to moving Beasley fulltime to small forward. But it's in the exploratory stages for Beasley, who at 6-9 and 235 pounds said he's comfortable at either forward spot. Beasley played sparingly at small forward late in the season. Offensively, Beasley has the outside shooting touch, moves and versatility to play small forward. But his defense was suspect even at power forward. He will have to improve drastically to keep up. "It's going to be one of the major areas of focus," Spoelstra said of working with Beasley at small forward this summer. "We have four or five months to give him a look at the 3. We're definitely going to spend a lot of time with him at both positions."
Analysis: Beasley should improve as a Fantasy option this year no matter what spot he plays. He played well as a rookie and should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy option coming into the year.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley scored 10 points in his playoff debut in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference playoffs on Sunday against the Hawks. He went 5-for-5 15 from the field, adding 10 rebounds and two assists for a double-double. He was listed as probable for the start of the series after getting poked in the eye on Wednesday in the season finale.
Analysis: There was little doubt that Haslem would be active for the playoffs. Beasley did not totally live up to the expectations of him this season but should provide more for the Heat in the 2009-2010 season. Expect him to continue to get big minutes in the playoffs and be a significant contributor for the Heat for years to come.
News: Heat rookie forward Michael Beasley was poked in the eye Wednesday against Detroit. Beasley left the game in the third quarter and did not return. He finished with 22 points and five rebounds in 19 minutes.
Analysis: Beasley should be fine heading into the first round of the NBA playoffs against Atlanta. He has played well down the stretch of the regular season with Udonis Haslem (hand) out, but Haslem is expected to return for the playoffs and will resume his starting role. Still, Beasley will get plenty of time against the Hawks as long as his eye is OK.
News: Heat PF Michael Beasley picked up his third straight double-double on Tuesday night in a loss at Atlanta. Starting in the game and playing 24 minutes, Beasley scored 23 points and grabbed 13 boards. He added two blocks.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 22 points, 11 boards, a block, a three and some very solid percentages over his last five games for Miami. As the Heat rest regulars, Beasley has gotten a chance to shine. With one game remaining in the regular season, Beasley should be active in all leagues because he'll get solid numbers as the main man for the Heat with the starters out.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley finished with 28 points and 16 rebounds for the Heat in Sunday's win over the Knicks to clinch the No. 5 spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. His outstanding game was dwarfed by Dwyane Wade's 55 points.
Analysis: Beasley is getting plenty of minutes off the bench with Udonis Haslem out until the playoffs start and is taking advantage of them. He has scored more than 20 points in each of his last three games, averaging 20.6 points over his last five games. He is a No. 3 Fantasy forward at the moment and will likely fit that bill next season as well.
News: The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports Monday that with only five games remaining, Heat forward Haslem indicated he would miss all five due to his lacerated right thumb. Haslem missed Saturday's game against Washington with the injury. With Haslem out, Yakhouba Diawara will remain the starter with rookie Michael Beasley coming off the bench.
Analysis: Beasley will get the majority of minutes at power forward with Haslem out. The Heat is trying to keep its normal rotation, which is why Beasley will remain a reserve. Still, this injury is a boost for Beasley, who should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy forward to close the season.
News:Michael Beasley twisted his right ankle, and Jermaine O'Neal twisted both his left ankle and right knee against the Bobcats on Friday but both were active Saturday night, with O'Neal in the starting lineup.
Analysis: Beasley scored 13 points in Saturday's game, adding four assists and five rebounds. He is averaging 12.2 points per game and 3.6 boards over his last five games. He remains a productive Fantasy option and is worth starting in all leagues as a No. 3 Fantasy forward. He can be used in the upcoming scoring period.
News: Early in the fourth quarter of Friday's game against Charlotte, Miami forward Michael Beasley twisted his right ankle while backing up defending Boris Diaw. He was also taken to the locker room, but returned late in the fourth quarter. He is questionable for Saturday's game at Washington.
Analysis: Beasley finished Friday's game with 14 points, four rebounds and an assist with two steals in 27 minutes of work. He remains a productive Fantasy option and is worth starting in all leagues as a No. 3 Fantasy forward. This injury shouldn't keep him out of any games.
News: Heat forward Michael Beasley had 10 points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal Thursday at Chicago. Beasley has now scored in double figures in his past three games and is averaging 11.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in his past five games.
Analysis: Beasley is only averaging 23.4 minutes over that span, and it would be nice to see what he could do with increased playing time. Still, he remains a productive Fantasy option and is worth starting in all leagues as a No. 3 Fantasy forward.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley was back in double figures for the third time in his last four games on Monday against the Grizzlies. Beasley, who scored just three points on Sunday at Detroit, recorded 17 against Memphis on 7-of-13 shooting over 27 minutes. Beasley added nine rebounds.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 13 points per game over his last five but that includes three games of 17 points or more. He's been quite inconsistent and he's only rebounding five per game over his last five and that makes him only usable in deeper Fantasy leagues at this time.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley has been up and down with his scoring as he dropped 21 points on the Celtics on Wednesday night. Beasley scored eight points in each of his last three games prior to Wednesday but dropped 18 the game before that. On Wednesday he added seven rebounds and a block and shot 10-of-18 from the floor.
Analysis: Beasley has been very inconsistent in his rookie season for Miami. He's averaging 13 points, four boards and less than a block per game over his last five contests and that is close to what he's accomplished on the season. View him as more of a stopgap for deeper leagues at this time, best saved for weeks when the Heat face favorable matchups.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley had just eight points in Saturday's double overtime game in Utah. He logged just 20 minutes off the bench and was held under 10 points for the second straight game.
Analysis: Beasley continues to be a very streaky rookie. He is averaging 25.1 minutes off the bench in March and had scored 17 or more points in three of four games prior to his recent slide. View him as more of a stopgap for deeper leagues at this time, best saved for weeks when the Heat face favorable matchups.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley came off the Heat bench on Monday against the Bulls and scored 18 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the field in a 130-127 double-overtime victory. He added seven rebounds to his stat line. He is receiving treatment on his sprained right foot but he was expected to play through it.
Analysis: Beasley got 10 extra minutes of action due to the game going into double overtime, and he made the most of it, scoring 18 total points. Beasley should be fine despite the foot injury and remains a No. 3 Fantasy forward.
News: The Miami Herald reports Heat forward Michael Beasley was to spend Sunday receiving treatment on his sprained right foot, but he expects to play Monday against the Bulls. Beasley sustained the injury late in Saturday's loss at Cleveland when he collided with teammate Mario Chalmers on a defensive rotation. Beasley briefly left the game but returned to finish.
Analysis: It sounds safe to keep Beasley active in all leagues for this scoring period. Beasley gets a showdown with rookie Derrick Rose on Monday in a battle of top picks, so it's unlikely Beasley would miss this game. Consider Beasley a No. 3 Fantasy forward.
News: Heat PF Michael Beasley left briefly in the fourth quarter with a slight ankle injury. He was treated in the locker room and returned. He scored 17 points in the game on 8-of-13 shooting. He should be able to play on Monday against Chicago.
Analysis: Beasley continues to come off the bench for the Heat, but he gets around 25 minutes per game and usually 10-15 shots per game. Continue to use him as a No. 3 forward in most formats. Don't worry about the ankle injury as it appears to be very minor.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley had 28 points with nine rebounds in Wednesday's game against Phoenix. He is averaging 16.4 points and 6.4 rebounds over his last five games.
Analysis: Beasley continues to come off the bench for the Heat, but he gets around 25 minutes per game and usually 10-15 shots per game. Continue to use him as a No. 3 forward in most formats.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley led all Heat scorers on Friday against Atlanta with a 23-point performance in a losing effort. He hit 10 of the 16 shots he attempted in 21 minutes of work, adding five rebounds to his total.
Analysis: Beasley has scored in double digits his past three games, but this was clearly his best performance in a while. The Heat likely won't insert him into the starting lineup this season and his minutes are averaged out at about 23 a game. He is a low-end option right now with upside as the No. 2 overall pick.
News: Despite an injury to James Jones that kept him out of Saturday's game against the Sixers, Michael Beasley was still unable to crack the team's starting lineup as Yahkouba Diawara got the start in his place. Beasley did play 25 minutes in the game, scoring eight points and pulling down three rebounds.
Analysis: The Heat are in no hurry to get Beasley into the starting lineup, which is evident as they chose to play three guards instead of start him. However, he is still one of the team's best players and has been productive in the sixth man role. For now, Beasley is only a low-end option with a ton of upside.
News: Reserve Heat F Michael Beasley finished with Thursday's last-second win over the Bulls 21 points for the Heat, who came in as a loser of five out of the last seven games. Beasley went 9-of-10 from the field, hitting both free throws he attempted and a three-pointer. Beasley added seven points and three boards to his stat line.
Analysis: Beasley had put together two pretty awful performances before excelling on Thursday. He had 11 points in the two combined games, putting up a four spot against woeful Charlotte. He is lacking in production lately, with his numbers down from his season average across the board. Hopefully the All-Star break will invigorate him and he'll be able to play better in the second half of the season.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley is doing less rebounding of late for the Heat. On Saturday night against the 76ers, Beasley scored 14 points in 27 minutes but only grabbed one rebound. He had just two rebounds the game prior at Detroit, seven the game before that and double digits in the two before.
Analysis: Beasley is still scoring with 15 points per game over his last five but after starting that week with an 11 and 10 boards apiece, he's had just 10 total the rest of the week. That makes him just a low-end Fantasy forward for deeper leagues until he can add the rebounding dynamic back to his game.
News: For the second consecutive night, Miami's Michael Beasley put up 18 points. The Heat beat the Clippers on Monday and Beasley added seven rebounds and a three off the bench in 22 minutes.
Analysis: Beasley is putting up 16 points and nine boards per game over his last four games. He's even adding threes to the repertoire. Beasley remains a No. 3 forward option in Fantasy and can improve upon that if he can keep improving.
News: Heat rookie forward Michael Beasley recorded his second straight double-double on Saturday night against the Mavericks with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Analysis: Beasley is playing well of late with 11 points and seven boards per night over his last five. His last two games were his best of that span so hopefully he starts off Week 15 (Feb. 2-8) hot. Beasley remains a No. 3 forward option in Fantasy.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley ended up playing off the bench for the Heat on Wednesday after leaving Monday's game against the Hawks with a knee injury. He tied for a team-high 16 points in the game and added seven rebounds to his stat line in a 93-71 win over the lowly Wizards.
Analysis: The knee injury didn't seem to slow him down all that much as Beasley was able to score nearly three points more than his season average on Wednesday against the Wizards. Hopefully it's just a bruise and it won't get any worse. Beasley remains a No. 3 forward option, averaging 9.8 points and 5.8 rebounds.
News: The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports Heat forward Michael Beasley, who left the game Monday after banging his knee, said he would play Wednesday night against Washington. He is expected to wear kneepads, as coach Erik Spoelstra wants. "Oh, yeah," Beasley said. "I got them on right now and I didn't even practice (Tuesday)."
Analysis: Look for Beasley to return against the Wizards. Hopefully the kneepads don't hinder his performance. When healthy, Beasley is a No. 3 Fantasy forward in his rookie season. He went into Monday's game averaging 13.5 points and 5.3 rebounds.
News: There has been no new news regarding the health status of Heat PF Michael Beasley for Wednesday's game against Washington. Beasley left Monday's game against Atlanta with a bruised left knee in the second quarter after he banged knees with Hawks forward Josh Smith and did not return.
Analysis: The lack of news may just back up the prevailing thought that Beasley's injury is minor and he should be able to return against the Wizards. When healthy, Beasley is a No. 3 Fantasy forward in his rookie season. He went into Monday's game averaging 13.5 points and 5.3 rebounds.
News: Heat rookie forward Michael Beasley left Monday's game against Atlanta with a bruised left knee in the second quarter after he banged knees with Hawks forward Josh Smith and did not return. He went into the locker room before halftime but returned to the bench in the second half with ice on his knee. He did not come back into the game, but the Heat held a comfortable lead and Beasley likely was held out as a precaution. He finished the game with two points and two rebounds in eight minutes of action. Per team policy, Beasley wears knee pads in practice but hasn't put them on for games, something he says he'll change. "I didn't want to change my routine. Think I'm going to have to now," said Beasley, who expects to play against Washington on Wednesday.
Analysis: It appears as though Beasley's injury is very minor and he is expected to suit up Wednesday. When healthy, Beasley is a No. 3 Fantasy forward in his rookie season. He came into Monday's game averaging 13.5 points and 5.3 rebounds.
News: Miami rookie PF Michael Beasley came off the bench for one of his better outings in some time on Wednesday night. The Heat got throttled by the Celtics at home but Beasley amassed 17 points and 11 rebounds. He was 1-for-3 from long range and 6-of-16 from the floor.
Analysis: Wednesday marked Beasley's first double-double since a Jan. 9 win at Sacramento. The Heat are hoping he can do this a little more often. He's averaging 14-6-1 over his last five games and has the ability to hit a few threes, too. His playing time should continue to increase in his first year in the NBA and he remains a No. 4 Fantasy Forward with clearly a ton of upside.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley is playing near his potential of late for the Heat as he scored 21 points on Wednesday night in a win over Milwaukee. Beasley added four rebounds and was 8-for-11 from the field.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 19 points and six boards per game over his last five and he's almost got a three per night in that span. His playing time should continue to increase in his first year in the NBA and he remains a No. 4 Fantasy Forward with clearly a ton of upside.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley kept his team in the game against the Lakers in Los Angeles, scoring 12 straight points for the Heat in the final minutes of the game. The Heat did end up losing the game, but Beasley produced a total of 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting. Beasley is averaging 18 points and 7.4 boards over his last five games.
Analysis: Beasley has scored 23 points exactly in two straight games, and has been a lot better off the bench on the Heat's current road trip. He remains a No. 4 Fantasy Forward with clearly a ton of upside.
News: Heat rookie PF Michael Beasley recorded the first double-double of his career in 29 minutes off the bench Monday against the Spurs. He finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Beasley scores in double figures off the bench from time to time, but he entered Monday's game averaging only 9.8 points over his previous eight games. He remains more potential than performance right now, but he can suffice as a No. 4 Fantasy forward.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley played his best game in while on Saturday night in an overtime win over the Nets. Beasley scored 17 points and added seven rebounds with a block. He shot 7-of-12 from the field in 41 minutes of action coming off the bench.
Analysis: Beasley had single digits in scoring in his previous three games and was getting minimal minutes as the Heat try to bring him along slowly after he struggled for some time. Hopefully Saturday's effort helps him pick up his scoring again because he started the year off hot and then went ice cold for some time. Continue to start Beasley as a No. 3 Fantasy forward and hope Saturday sparks something in his game.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that Miami F Michael Beasley had nine points and five rebounds Sunday against Cleveland in a so-so performance. Beasley seemed more comfortable offensively than he has the past two or three games, however. And his defense wasn't bad.
Analysis: Beasley has been off of late with just 8.8 points and 4.4 rebounds over his last five contests. His season averages are above those numbers so it seems the best player in college basketball last season is hitting a bit of a wall. Still, we think he'll turn it around soon. Continue to start Beasley as a No. 3 Fantasy forward.
News: Heat forward Michael Beasley knows how to score and get his shot. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that among the 17 NBA rookies playing at least 20 minutes per game, Beasley, with 308 shots in 647 minutes, shoots at the highest rate (one attempt for every 2.1 minutes played). Only Dwyane Wade, the league's leading scorer, shoots more often for the Heat (one attempt every 1.8 minutes) and no one else is close to Beasley. Meanwhile Beasley is tied for 15th in assists among rookies averaging 20 minutes or more. The rookies in that group who are equal or worse than Beasley in assists are all post-dwelling centers: Milwaukee's Luc Mbah a Moute, Portland's Greg Oden and New Jersey's Brook Lopez.
Analysis: Beasley is averaging 13.6 points with 45 percent shooting from the field. The bottom line for Fantasy owners is that he produces, which he has for the most part this season. Continue to start Beasley as a No. 3 Fantasy forward.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley returned from a one-game absence to lead the team with 20 points Sunday in Memphis. "I'm still trying to find my mojo," Beasley said. "I'm trying to get my (swagger) back. We have to get it right on both ends. Defense is way harder than offense. You can knock a couple of shots down, but you have to get right back on defense."
Analysis: Beasley had missed a game with the flu, but appeared to be back at full strength Sunday. The rookie has been a solid No. 3 Fantasy forward with spurts of inconsistency, something that is to be expected of a rookie. However, he has the ability to produce solid totals in scoring and rebounds.
News: Rookie forward Michael Beasley has been ruled out of the Miami Heat's game against the Atlanta Hawks with flulike symptoms. Friday night's game was the first Beasley has missed this season.
Analysis: The No. 2 pick in this year's draft has been Miami's second-leading scorer behind Dwyane Wade so far, averaging 13.9 points and 5.2 rebounds on 45 percent shooting. Beasley's status for Miami's next game, at Memphis on Sunday, is unknown. He should not be out for too long with the flu, though, and should be a safe start for the upcoming week.
News: Heat rookie Michael Beasley had 19 points, six rebounds and a block in Monday's game at Golden State. He played 25 minutes off the bench in the overtime game.
Analysis:The Sports Xchange notes that Beasley had 24 points off the bench Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers, which ties him for the fourth-best scoring performance as a rookie reserve in franchise history. Clearly, he is still very productive even coming off the bench and remains a must-start in all Fantasy formats.
News: Is Miami rookie Michael Beasley hitting a rookie wall? The Heat lost to Toronto on Wednesday night as the Kansas State product scored just seven points and added four boards in 11 minutes due to foul trouble. He's now played less than 20 minutes in two straight games for Miami.
Analysis: Beasley now has two straight games under double digits in scoring and his rebounding has been lower, too. His yearly average is still about 15 points and five boards, but he's been doing less than that for three straight games now. He's probably still worth starting in Fantasy but this could be one rookie wall that takes him a few games to bust through.
News: Heat rookie F Michael Beasley scored 13 points with six rebounds and two assists in Sunday's game. The 13 points were his third lowest total of the season. Beasley had scored 19 points in two of his previous three games.
Analysis: Beasley has been getting anywhere from 35 to 40 minutes as a starter and continues to see 10-plus shots per game. He's already a go-to option in the offense and should average somewhere in the 15-20 point range as a rookie to go with 5-7 rebounds.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley (shin) was fine to start against the Hornets in New Orleans on Saturday night despite leaving Friday's game against San Antonio early with a shin injury. Beasley was 5-for-10 from the field and hit all 10 of his free throws in 31 minutes before leaving the Spurs game. He finished with 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Analysis: Beasley would have likely had his first career double-double had he played in the fourth quarter, but there was no need to push one of their franchise players. The rookie has scored in double figures for four straight games and is quickly becoming a must-start Fantasy option. He was able to play Saturday and is now fine to start during Week 3 (Nov. 10-16).
News: Rookie Michael Beasley added 20 points for Miami during a win Friday against the Spurs and briefly left the game with what the Heat described as a left shin contusion. He later returned to the bench, but did not play in the fourth quarter. The team said X-rays were negative. Beasley was 5-for-10 from the field and hit all 10 of his free throws in 31 minutes before leaving the game. He also had eight rebounds and three assists.
Analysis: Beasley would have likely had his first career double-double had he played in the fourth quarter, but there was no need to push one of their franchise players. The rookie has scored in double figures for four straight games and is quickly becoming a must-start Fantasy option. If he can't play Saturday against the Hornets, he might be an injury-risk start Week 3 (Nov. 10-16), but the injury doesn't seem serious.
News: Miami PF Michael Beasley is four games into his rookie season as the Heat defeated the 76ers on Wednesday night. Beasley scored 17 points out of the starting lineup and added nine rebounds and a block in 37 minutes.
Analysis: After starting the year with a 9-point effort against the Knicks, Beasley has scored 17, 25 and 17 in three straight games and is looking like the high-end scoring option he was in college. He's beginning to rebound, too. The more experience he gets under his belt, the better he'll become and he is already a No. 3 Fantasy F.
News: Rookie SF Michael Beasley, the No. 2 pick in the draft, had only nine points on 4-of-14 shooting for the Heat in the opener against the Knicks on Wednesday.
Analysis: Beasley didn't impress in his opening performance on Wednesday but will have ample opportunity to make up for it. Chalk this up to opening night jitters and continue to consider Beasley a No. 4 Fantasy forward.
News: In Fantasy Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 1), the Heat will play a Knicks team that gave up 103.5 points per game last season, eighth most in the NBA. Their new head coach Mike D'Antoni coached a Phoenix team last season that gave up 105.4 points, five games. The Kings allowed 104.8 points and Charlotte gave up 101.3. This should be a good week for the Heat to get their feet wet with a new head coach and some changes in the starting lineup.
Analysis: Shawn Marion moves over to small forward to accommodate rookie Michael Beasley, who should start at power forward. The matchups in Week 1 figure to be high scoring, leaving plenty to go around for both players. At center, the Heat are going to go with either Mark Blount or Udonis Haslem. Haslem is the more productive Fantasy option and should get the majority of the minutes. Blount is merely a No. 3 Fantasy center option for now. Haslem should pick up center eligibility in leagues that allow multiple positions fairly early on in the regular season and would make a nice No. 2 Fantasy center. For now, consider him a fourth or fifth forward option in Week 1. And as far as Shaun Livingston is concerned, he's still too far off after just recently returning from his knee injury that sidelined him the last two seasons. He is a player to be monitored for now, but not started.
News: The South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting that the signs out of the Miami Heat training camp indicate that Michael Beasley will begin the season on the bench. "We'll have to wait and see how he progresses," coach Erik Spoelstra said Wednesday. "Right now, he's in a good rhythm offensively. And defensively, there are some things he needs to be more aware of."
Analysis: Beasley has yet to start during the Heat's 0-3 preseason but has been getting steady minutes. His 16.3 scoring average is second on the team to Dwyane Wade's 16.7. The Heat feel he has to improve some defensively, but Fantasy owners should not be disappointed that he's going to come off the bench. It will give him a good chance to be the big dog of the second unit instead of just fitting in alongside Dwyane Wade and Shawn Marion.
News:Michael Beasley scored 16 points in his preseason debut Sunday at home against Detroit, 13 coming in the third quarter. He came off the bench and played 20 minutes, shooting 6-for-11 from the field.
Analysis: It will be interesting to see how the Heat incorporate Shawn Marion, Udonis Haslem and Michael Beasley -- all three power forward types. We are currently projecting Beasley to average around 14 points and eight rebounds as a rookie, but we should know more about his role with the team as the preseason goes on. It is conceivable he could average anywhere from 10-20 points. He is our odds on favorite to be the most productive rookie in Fantasy in 2008-09. He'll be worth selecting as a No. 2 or 3 forward, with the latter being a safer, more luxurious option.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that when the Heat opens training camp on Sept. 27, the starting spots most watched will be at power forward, where veteran Udonis Haslem contends with rookie Michael Beasley; point guard, where veterans Marcus Banks and Chris Quinn compete with rookie Mario Chalmers; and center where Mark Blount and Jamaal Magloire battle it out. But Haslem will also see time at center. "I like Shawn at the four (power forward) and I like Beasley at the four," coach Erik Spoelstra said, adding Marion is the top candidate at the three (small forward) for now.
Analysis: It will be interesting to see how the Heat incorporate Marion, Udonis Haslem and Michael Beasley -- all three power forward types. We are currently projecting Beasley to average around 14 points and eight rebounds as a rookie, but we should know more about his role with the team in the preseason. News: Miami Heat rookie Michael Beasley was fined $50,000 by the NBA on Thursday for his involvement in an incident at the Rookie Transition Program this month. The NBA also said that Beasley failed to cooperate with the a league investigation of the matter also involving Miami's Mario Chalmers and Memphis' Darrell Arthur. Arthur and Chalmers, former Kansas teammates, were fined $20,000 apiece last week after being banished from the rookie symposium.
Analysis: Security at the resort near New York where the event took place found Arthur and Chalmers in a room with two women, and the scent of marijuana was detected. No drugs or drug paraphernalia were found, but having guests in the room violated NBA policy, and the two rookies were sent home. Arthur and Chalmers apologized but denied using marijuana. Beasley's playing status is not going to be affected by this incident, but it's certainly not a great start to his NBA career.
News: One day after scoring 28 points in his much-hyped debut, Michael Beasley returned to earth Tuesday, finishing with only nine points in Miami's 90-81 summer league win over New Jersey. The second overall pick in last month's draft was a mere mortal, missing all but one of his 13 shots from the field and collecting nearly as many fouls (seven, there's no automatic disqualification in summer league) as he did points. "You can't have a great game every night," Beasley said. "But that wasn't a bad game, though. We still won."
Analysis: Beasley griped about some calls, tumbled after missing layups, then shook his head in disappointment after a rebound bounced off his outstretched hands. His first summer league game drew raves. In his second, well, Beasley looked like a rookie again. Such is the life of an NBA rookie. We are currently projecting him to average around 14 points and eight rebounds as a rookie, but we should know more about his role with the team in the preseason. It is conceivable he could average anywhere from 10-20 points. He is our odds on favorite to be the most productive rookie in Fantasy in 2008-09. He'll be worth selecting as a No. 2 or 3 forward, with the latter being a safer, more luxurious option. These nights aren't all bad for Fantasy owners because if he kept building his hype over the summer it would be impossible to get him at a good value.
News: Heat F Michael Beasley made an impressive Summer League debut Monday in Orlando against Chicago and first overall pick Derrick Rose. He played just 23 minutes, but he took 21 shots, scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Analysis: It was the ninth-highest scoring performance in Orlando summer league history. He got into it a bit with Bulls second-year player Joakim Noah, who did not appreciate Beasley humming what he called "a happy tune" as he played. The one Summer League game doesn't really mean a whole lot, but it does show that his cracked sternum is not an issue. If he keeps building his hype like this over the summer, though, it will be impossible to get him at a good value.
News:Michael Beasley slightly cracked his sternum in a collision with a teammate earlier this week, yet still could be with the Miami Heat when the team opens summer league play Monday. He was elbowed by a teammate in a defensive drill on Wednesday, about 45 minutes into Miami's first practice of the summer session. The No. 2 pick in last week's NBA draft was originally diagnosed with a chest bruise, and tests further revealed the small sternum fracture - something that typically doesn't show up on an X-ray and simply heals over time.
Analysis: The Heat said Beasley continued participating in non-contact drills with the team Friday and may be cleared for some contact Saturday, when the team is scheduled to practice twice. His status for the start of summer league play - against the Chicago Bulls and No. 1 overall pick Derrick Rose - remains day-to-day. We are currently projecting him to average around 14 points and eight rebounds as a rookie. He is our odds on favorite to be the most productive rookie in Fantasy in 2008-09. He'll be worth selecting as a No. 2 or 3 forward, with the latter being a safer, more luxurious option
News:Michael Beasley returned to practice with the Miami Heat on Thursday, one day after the No. 2 overall pick in last week's NBA draft was knocked out of his first official summer-league workout with a chest bruise. Beasley was inadvertently elbowed by a teammate during a defensive drill about 45 minutes after Miami opened its summer-league camp Wednesday morning. He was taken to a doctor for evaluation and treatment, and did not participate with his summer Heat teammates in practices Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
Analysis: Beasley is listed as day-to-day, and is still expected to take part in summer league, which opens Monday in Orlando. The forward averaged 26.2 points and a college-best 12.4 rebounds this past season as a freshman at Kansas State, and signed his first pro contract with the Heat on Wednesday. We are currently projecting him to average around 14 points and eight rebounds as a rookie, who is our odds on favorite to be the most productive rookie in Fantasy. He'll be worth selecting as a No. 2 or 3 forward, with the latter being a safer, more luxurious option.
News:Michael Beasley's first official practice with the Miami Heat ended quickly. Beasley was struck in the chest by an inadvertent elbow during a defensive drill about 45 minutes into Miami's first summer-league workout session Wednesday, and the No. 2 overall pick in last week's NBA draft was taken to a doctor for observation.
Analysis: Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said the move was strictly precautionary and should not affect Beasley's availability for Miami's five-games-in-five-days run through the Orlando summer league, which opens Monday. The team did not immediately release an update on the extent of Beasley's injury or what sort of tests were being performed on the rookie, who averaged 26.2 points and 12.4 rebounds last season for Kansas State.
