Jackson back in action


(2/5/2011) After leaving during Sacramento's previous game due to shortness of breath, Kings forward Darnell Jackson was back on the court during Friday's 113-100 loss to the Spurs. Jackson logged 26 minutes off the bench against San Antonio and finished with 11 points on 4 of 11 shooting from the field. He went 3 of 4 from the charity stripe and also added six rebounds and a steal to his statline.

(2/2/2011) Kings PF Darnell Jackson, who left the team's last game with a shortness of breath, underwent tests at UC Davis Medical Center on Wednesday, reports the Sacramento Bee. Jackson was diagnosed with costochondritis (inflammation of the rib cartilage) but has been cleared to practice Thursday.

(10/23/2010) According to The Sacramento Bee, Kings coach Paul Westphal started forward Darnell Jackson in the team's preseason finale to keep him in the mix. "I didn't want Jackson to get lost in the shuffle while we try some other stuff, because he's been playing good," Westphal said of the second-year player.

(7/21/2010) The Milwaukee Bucks acquired a fan favorite when they completed a trade Wednesday for Sacramento Kings forward Jon Brockman. Bucks general manager John Hammond said he thinks Bucks fans will love Brockman, too. "Any fan base anywhere will appreciate a player who plays with the type of energy he does," Hammond told The Associated Press. The Bucks completed a sign-and-trade deal for Brockman in exchange for forward Darnell Jackson and a 2011 second-round pick.

(3/20/2010) The Cleveland Cavaliers have assigned forward Darnell Jackson to Erie of the NBA Development League. Jackson has played sparingly for the Cavs this season. He's averaging less than a point and 4.2 minutes in 26 games for the league's top team. This is Jackson's second stint with the BayHawks this season. In one game with them on Feb. 25, he scored 34 points with 12 rebounds in a win over Dakota.

H1N1, also known as swine flu, is a strain of Influenza A. Though the Cavaliers have not gotten back H1N1 test results on the three, the team said it is being proactive in treating players and the traveling party to Texas.

(10/14/2009) The flu bug has bitten SF LeBron James and the Cavaliers. James missed the club's final home exhibition game against the Wizards on Wednesday because of flu-like symptoms that have been bothering him for several days. Forward Darnell Jackson and guard Coby Karl were also out with the flu. James and his two teammates were told to stay home so they don't spread the flu. As a standard precaution, all of the players will be tested for the H1N1 virus, team officials said.
