Physical all that remains in Derrick Williams, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute swap

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/25/2013) The Timberwolves and Kings have agreed to a trade that would send former No. 2 overall pick Derrick Williams to Sacramento. Despite the pending agreement, there is still one hurdle to be cleared, according to Yahoo.com.

Williams would be traded for Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, however concerns about lingering soreness in his right knee could potentially derail the trade. Mbah a Moute has dealt with issues in the knee since the preseason, and will need to pass a physical before the deal can be completed. The physical is scheduled for Tuesday.

Mbah a Moute underwent surgery on the knee during the 2012 offseason, and he was limited to 58 games a year ago as a result. He was limited in the preseason due to tendinitis in the league, and it took him a few weeks early in the season to get up to speed.

Wolves, Kings discussing Derrick Williams swap

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/25/2013) A Timberwolves trade of former No. 2 overall pick Derrick Williams has seemed inevitable for years, and ESPN.com reports a deal could be reaching the final stages. According to a report Monday, the Wolves are in advanced talks with the Kings for a deal that would net them forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute.

Williams has been stuck behind All-Star Kevin Love ever since he was drafted in 2011, and has never seemed comfortable with a move to small forward. He is averaging just 4.9 points on 35.2 percent shooting in the first 11 games of the season.

Mbah a Moute is a more natural fit for the Timberwolves off the bench, if the trade goes down. He is a solid defender on the wings, but has never evolved into much of a shooter. He has appeared in nine games for the Kings this season, averaging 4.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game.
