(7/8/2015) An ankle injury will prevent Heat guard Henry Walker from participating in Wednesday's Summer League game, reports the Sun Sentinel.

Walker has not been available to play in any of the Heat's recent Summer League games because of the ankle injury. Walker averaged 7.3 points and 3.4 rebounds in 24 games last season.

Walker is sidelined due to a left elbow injury. Walker was signed for the rest of the season in mid-March. With the Heat, he's averaged 6.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 23 games.

(4/6/2015) In advance of Tuesday's huge game against the Hornets, the Heat listed seven players as probable, including Dwyane Wade (knee) and Goran Dragic (back), per the Miami Herald

They join Zoran Dragic, Udonis Haslem Mario Chalmers, Tyler Johnson and Henry Walker on the probable list, while Hassan Whiteside (hand) and Luol Deng (knee) are listed as questionable.

However, with the Heat desperately trying to snag the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, expect most of the team's walking wounded to play.

Walker, who had previously signed two 10-day contracts with the team, has averaged 8.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 27.4 minutes in 10 games.

(3/2/2015) Guard Henry Walker has been a pleasant surprise for the Heat during his 10-day contract.

In four games during this span, he's averaged 11.8 points per game, which included a 16-point outburst in Saturday's loss against the Pelicans. 

Therefore, he's been awarded a second 10-day contract, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel. His first contract expires Monday and his second one will be signed on Tuesday.

 


Henry Walker continues Cinderella story with 16 for Heat

(2/28/2015) Henry Walker scored 16 points in the Heat's 104-102 loss to the Pelicans, Friday. 

It was Walker's third straight double-digit scoring output since joining the Heat on a 10-day contract. Walker has played in Sioux Falls, Alaska, Venezuela and Austin since his last stint in the NBA, three years ago.

Walker hit six of 13 shots, including four-of-nine on 3-pointers. He also took a charge to foul out Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans with 1:23 remaining. 

The Heat next plays at home against the Hawks on Saturday.

(2/25/2015) Heat shooting guard Henry Walker struggled with his shot Wednesday but came up big when needed, sinking two three-pointers in the final minute of regulation to help erase a late eight-point deficit in his team's 93-90 win over the Magic.

Walker was just 3 of 13 from the field in the game and missed his first nine three-point attempts. However, the Heat drew up a play to get him the ball with 25 seconds left and he buried his first three-pointer of the game to bring his team to within two. After the Magic made one of two free-throw attempts, Walker found the ball in his hands after a series of passes and made another shot from behind the arc to send the game into overtime.

"He kept on shooting and that's what you like. He has fearlessness about him," coach Erik Spoelstra said after the game, per the Associated Press.

Walker, who was signed to a 10-day contract Friday, played 33 minutes off the bench in the comeback win, racking up six rebounds, two assists and two steals in addition to scoring 10 points. His next chance to impress will come Friday against the Pelicans in New Orleans.

Walker had to get nine stitches to repair the cut.

Walker, who formerly went by the name Bill Walker, has been out of the NBA since 2012, when he was waived by the Knicks. Walker was a standout at Kansas State in college.
