News: The Grizzlies filled out their 15-man roster Wednesday heading into the playoffs, as they signed forward Donte Green through the end of the season. Memphis originally drafted Greene at No. 28 overall in 2008 before trading him as part of a three-way swap for the draft rights to forward Darrell Arthur.
Analysis: The 6-foot-11 Greene has started 82 of his 253 games over four seasons with Sacramento but missed most of this season recovering after breaking his ankle Aug. 25. He has no Fantasy value.
News: Free agent forward Donte Greene has signed on to play basketball in Puerto Rico, reports Sportando. Greene had worked out for a number of NBA teams but did not get signed.
Analysis: Greene is a former first-round pick who did not pan out as a consistent contributor in four years with the Kings, holding a career average of 6.1 points per game. Playing in Puerto Rico, he has no Fantasy value remaining.
News: Free-agent forward Donte Greene, formerly of the Kings, will workout for teams at Eastern Michigan University this Saturday in an attempt to latch on for the final weeks of the season. Greene, who has been out all season while recovering from a fractured ankle, has not played since April, 2012.
Analysis: Greene is a former first-round pick who did not pan out as a consistent contributor in four years with the Kings, holding a career average of 6.1 points per game. Even if Greene finds work, there is very little chance he will be worth targeting in most Fantasy formats.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene started for just the third time all season on Friday against the Mavericks, and he played well in his opportunity. Taking advantage of a Mavericks lineup that was without starting center Brendan Haywood, the Kings went small, with Greene playing 20 minutes, scoring 11 points on 4 of 6 shooting as the Kings won, 110-97. He also added one rebound, two assists and a block in the game.
Analysis: Greene is averaging just 5.7 points per game on the season, as he is averaging just 14.9 minutes per game. He has seen his role increase at times, especially recently, as he is averaging 22.8 minutes per game over the last five. Still, Greene simply doesnt have a large enough role on the team to be worth more than just a low-end reserve spot in deep Fantasy leagues.
News: Kings forward Donte Green earned his first start in over a month on Sunday against the Suns, but he wasnt able to take advantage of it. Greene finished with just eight points on 3 of 8 shooting in the game, adding three rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot with three turnovers in 25 minutes as the Kings lost 96-88.
Analysis: It was just Greenes second start of the season, however he had played 32 minutes in the teams prior game against the Lakers, so clearly he is a part of the rotation right now. Prior to that, Greene had missed the teams three previous games, so its hard to get a good idea of his place inside of the teams rotation. At this point, Fantasy owners should keep on eye on Greenes role, as he is earning a larger place in the teams plans, however he is still not worth picking up off of waivers at this time.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene has begun to play a larger role with the team, as he topped the 15-minute mark for the fourth time in six games on Sunday. Greene scored just six points in his time on the floor on 2 of 4 shooting, while grabbing just a single rebound and steal as the Kings lost 93-92.
Analysis: Greene has seen the floor in six of the teams last seven games and is averaging 15.7 minutes in those six games. He has seen his playing time ebb and flow throughout the season, and while it appears to have stabilized for now, that just means hes being consistently used as a reserve. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore Greene in the vast majority of formats unless he starts to see significant increases in his playing time.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene got 23 minutes of action on Tuesday night against the Timberwolves as most of his teammates on the frontcourt found themselves in foul trouble. Greene scored 11 points on a 3-for-8 shooting performance. He knocked down all four of his foul shots and blocked two shots. Greene added an assist and three rebounds for the Kings, but they would still lose the game, 86-84.
Analysis: Greene had just three minutes of court time over his previous four games combined. While he gives the Kings versatility, he doesn't always play which hurts his Fantasy value. Unfortunately he doesn't see enough time on the court to warrant much attention in any Fantasy format.
News: Sacramento F Donte Greene scored 12 points in his first start of the season during the Kings' 101-89 loss to Portland on Monday night. Greene was inserted into the starting lineup at small forward as John Salmons started at guard for Marcus Thornton, who missed the game with a thigh injury. He finished only 4 of 13 from the field and missed all four attempts from downtown during 23 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Greene is averaging just 5.7 points per game while earning limited playing time this season. But he has been versatile for the Kings and believes he can play both forward spots and shooting guard. "I'm comfortable defending two through four," Greene told the Sacramento Bee. "I don't have any problem being out there." Greene could receive some spot starts when Thornton is out, but he's not a worthwhile Fantasy option.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene scored a season-high 11 points on Friday night against the Rockets. With DeMarcus Cousins in foul trouble and struggling, Greene saw 32 minutes on the court. He shot 50 percent from the field, going 1 for 5 from downtown, and nailing both his foul shots. Greene added a team-high eight rebounds and blocked one shot. Sacramento lost to Houston, 103-91.
Analysis: Greene is averaging 5.5 points and 5.0 rebounds over his last four games. He's seen his minutes increase each outing, so he could be carving out more minutes. Despite his good game, Greene is still just a bench player on the Kings and doesn't warrant any attention in Fantasy leagues right now.
News: Kings F Donte Greene left the team to return to his native Baltimore following the death of his grandmother, according to the Sacramento Bee. Greene missed Thursday's game against Milwaukee and it is unclear when he will rejoin the Kings as he is listed as day to day.
Analysis: Greene has not seen much playing time this season and has logged just 18 minutes in the past five games. He isn't expected to be a major contributor to Sacramento's offense as he is currently behind John Salmons on the depth chart. Leave him untouched in all Fantasy formats for now.
News: Kings F Donte Greene turned in another solid performance during Tuesday's 116-113 won over the Suns. Greene finished with 18 points in the contest on 7 of 11 shooting from the field. He went 4 of 6 from downtown and also chipped in with one block, one rebound and one assist while logging 22 minutes off the bench. Greene is averaging 9.4 points and 1.2 rebounds over his last five contests.
Analysis: After not playing for most of the beginning of March, Greene has once again found himself back in the Kings' rotation. He has appeared in seven straight games off the bench for Sacramento and has scored in double figures three times over that stretch. Still, based on his track record, it is hard to trust Greene as a legitimate Fantasy option this late in the season. Fantasy owners are better off leaving him on the waiver wire at this point.
News: Despite getting into the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Jazz, Kings forward Donte Greene didn't contribute much in 22 minutes of playing time. He scored four points on 2 of 6 shooting, though he had a highlight-reel one-handed alley-oop. Greene added a rebound on the night.
Analysis: Green is not a player to be owned in Fantasy formats on a regular basis, and the fact that he can produce this little while in the starting lineup just reassures that fact. He has some nice size at 6-11, but he gets the short end of the minutes in the Sacramento frontcourt even after the team traded away Carl Landry. Unless the team suffers some injuries, Greene should bee off of rosters.
News: Kings forward Donte Green turned in another pedestrian performance in Monday's 105-99 win over the Clippers. Green scored just four points in the contest on 2 of 4 shooting from the field. He only logged 14 minutes off the bench and finished with two steals and a rebound.
Analysis: Green seems to be the odd-man out of late for the Kings as he has been moved back to the bench in favor of Omir Casspi. The 23-year-old has only played a combined 37 minutes over his last four games, which has limited his already limited production. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore Green in all formats at this point of the season.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene almost got a steal on Kevin Durant at the end of the fourth quarter on Saturday, but instead was called for a foul. Durant would miss both shots, leaving the door open for Sacramento, but Tyreke Evans missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Greene made both his shots from the field, finishing with four points and one rebound in his 12 minutes of action. The Kings would come up short against the Thunder, 99-97.
Analysis: Greene was very close to making that steal on Durant, but he didn't get the call. Over his last five games, Greene is seeing around 13 minutes of action. In that limited playing time he's averaging 5.8 points and 1.6 boards per contest. Those numbers don't warrant much Fantasy attention at this stage of the season and can be ignored in all formats.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds in Monday's 100-98 loss to the Hawks. He got the start as Francisco Garcia sat our with a calf injury. Greene shot 3 for 6 from the field -- going 1 for 3 from 3-point land -- and missed both his foul shots. He finished with seven points and two assists in his 35 minutes of action.
Analysis: Greene played tough and was really good on the glass on Monday, but chances are he'll go back to the bench once Garcia is healthy. The Kings seem to keep changing their rotation around, as Greene averaged 24.9 minutes a game between Nov. 17 and Dec. 23. Now he hardly plays, which is why Fantasy owners can ignore him in all formats.
News: Sacramento forward Donte Greene got the start on Monday as Francisco Garcia was inactive because of calf injury. Greene hasn't been playing much recently for the Kings, although he was averaging 24.9 minutes a game between Nov. 17 and Dec. 23.
Analysis: Greene will likely go back to the bench and be the odd man out once Garcia is healthy. This start shouldn't get Fantasy owners jumping on Greene's bandwagon as the third-year guy out of Syracuse isn't worth much in any format.
News: Kings SF Donte Greene has fallen off the face of the earth. In 18 games between Nov. 17 and Dec. 23, Greene was averaging 24.9 minutes a game. Since then, he has failed to play more than five minutes in any single contest.
Analysis: With Francisco Garcia lighting it up for 26 points on Tuesday night against the Wizards, it looks like Greene's chances of gaining any playing time at SF in the near future are slim to none. He's worth stashing away in very deep leagues if you have the flexibility, as the third-year guy out of Syracuse showed some potential last season, but you'll need to have patience.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene had 10 points on 3 of 6 shooting in Tuesday's 117-109 loss to the Warriors. Greene played 23 minutes in the contest and also added two rebounds in the defeat.
Analysis: Greene has fallen back down to earth since his 19-point outburst, scoring in double figures just twice since then. While he continues to start for Sacramento, Greene is averaging just 6.8 points and 2.8 rebounds over his last five contests and should only be active in deeper Fantasy leagues at this point.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene missed all three of his 3-pointers on Saturday night against the Heat. He shot 3 for 8 from the field, finishing with eight points. He would grab just three rebounds, make two steals and dish out three assists. Greene added a block in his 28 minutes of court time. The Kings would fall to the Heat, 104-83.
Analysis: Greene had a season-high 19 points just three games ago, but has since come back to reality. He's averaging 8.4 points, 1.6 boards and 1.6 assists over his last five outings. He's shot 6 for 18 from downtown over that span, which gives Fantasy owners in the deepest of leagues a cheap source of 3s. But when push comes to shove, owners won't be rushing to add Greene to their roster before Week 8 (Dec. 13-19). He's a low-end option despite starting for the Kings.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene scored a season-high 19 points in Saturday's 105-103 loss to the Mavericks. Greene shot 8 of 15 from the field in 26 minutes. He went 3 of 6 from downtown and also chipped in with an assist and a rebound in the contest.
Analysis: With the Kings struggling to win games Paul Westphal has been trying to mix and match his lineup, which has lead to more playing time for Greene. Unfortunately, that hasn't necessarily translated into any big-time production out of the former Syracuse star, but he has been fairly consistent this season. Greene is averaging 10.2 points over his last five games to go along with 2.8 rebounds. The Kings rotation is still a mess, so there is no telling how much playing time Greene will see in Fantasy Week 7 (Dec. 6-12). Consider him an extremely low-end Fantasy forward for the upcoming scoring period.
News: Kings F Donte Greene had a very productive night on Sunday against the Hornets, picking up a double-double. He scored 15 points with 10 rebounds in 32 minutes. Greene is averaging 10.7 points with 6.0 rebounds over his last three games.
Analysis: Greene has seen his playing time rise and has entered the team's starting lineup over the last two games. He is not set in stone as the starter at small forward, but certainly has bought himself some more opportunities in the near future with this output. Take a flier on him in deeper leagues, but don't put any long-term hopes on Greene. The Kings rotation is still a mess.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene is back in the starting lineup for according to the Sacramento Bee. Coach Paul Westphal said Greene will be the starting small forward for the "foreseeable future". Guard Luther Head will remain in the starting lineup as well. Greene had started the season in the starting lineup at the beginning of the season.
Analysis: Greene is averaging 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds per game this season for the Kings. He's played in just 55 minutes in his five games of action. It is unclear how long he'll stay in the starting lineup, as Westphal has been tweaking his lineup all season. This is a situation Fantasy owners should monitor as the season goes on, because it affects more than just Greene. But owners shouldn't pick Greene up off waivers just yet. His Fantasy appeal is extremely low, even with him getting a start or two.
News: Sacramento forward Donte Greene struggled in the team's season opener on Wednesday as he shot 1 for 7 from the field. He finished with six points and seven rebounds. The Kings replaced him in the starting lineup on Friday with Omri Casspi.
Analysis: Greene will likely still have a key role off the bench. Casspi logged 21 minutes and 10 points off the bench in the opener, so Greene could probably be up for the same kind output. Greene and Casspi may be bounced around in the starting lineup for the Kings this year, but should both see plenty of action. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a low-end option at the beginning of the season.
News: Kings F Donte Greene had a poor shooting performance in Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Timberwolves. He shot 1 for 7 from the field and scored just six points. He did add seven rebounds with assists and a block.
Analysis: Greene got the start at small forward and while he struggled, it was a good sign to see him rebound well and continue to get shots despite his struggles. Once his shot comes around, he could become a popular target off the waiver wire given his situation. He is a low-end Fantasy option to begin the year, but is worth monitoring as a raw athletic talent with some decent upside.
News: The Kings exercised options on third-year forwards Jason Thompson and Donte Greene and second-year forward Omri Casspi on Monday. They also locked up Casspi for his third season and Thompson and Greene for their fourth years in the NBA.
Analysis: Greene should start the season at small forward for the Kings. Greene started 50 games last season and averaged 8.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in just over 21 minutes per game. While he showed flashes of his potential last year, Greene was also very erratic, which makes him hard to start in Fantasy. He is a low-end Fantasy option to begin the year.
News: According to the Sacramento Bee , coach Paul Westhphal said Donte Greene would start the season at small forward. Greene has averaged 7.0 points and 2.8 rebounds so far this preseason.
Analysis: Greene started 50 games last season and averaged 8.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in just over 21 minutes per game. While he showed flashes of his potential last year, Greene was also very erratic, which makes him hard to start in Fantasy. He can be ignored in most leagues on Draft Day, but could be a useful addition off the waiver wire down the road.
News: Kings swingman Donte Greene averaged 8.5 points with 3.1 rebounds per game in 76 appearances during the 2009-10 regular season. He started 50 of those games, averaging 9.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in those games.
Analysis: Greene had a few bright spots over the course of the season, but both off the bench and as a starter he was highly erratic. His value in Fantasy leagues will be limited entering the 2010-11 regular season as waiver wire fodder.
News: Sacramento F Donte Greene scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds in a loss to the Nets on Wednesday. Greene shot 4 of 9 from the field while collecting a steal and an assist in 35 minutes. It was Greene's first double-double of the season.
Analysis: Greene is averaging 6.4 points and 3.4 rebounds over his last five contests. He normally sees limited minutes and his performance on Wednesday was very rare for him. Until he is able to maintain that type of consistency, he is just a low-end Fantasy option suited for only the deepest of leagues.
News: Kings F Donte Greene scored just nine points in a win over the Clippers on Sunday. Greene shot 4 of 7 from the field while dishing out two assists and contributing a steal in 25 minutes. He has only scored in double figures just once in his last five games.
Analysis: Greene is averaging just 7.6 points and three rebounds over his last five games. With erratic scoring, Greene is just a low-end Fantasy option that is best reserved for only the deepest of Fantasy leagues at this point.
News: Kings F Donte Greene had 19 points with eight rebounds and three assists in Sunday's game against Minnesota. He was 8 of 11 from the field. Greene had totaled 20 points in his previous two games combined.
Analysis: Greene had the hot hand on Sunday and that bought him more playing time than he normally sees. He usually gets around 20 minutes per game and that makes it hard for him to be consistent. Despite this strong stat line, view him as an erratic Fantasy option.
News: According to the Kings' official Web site, coach Paul Westphal has announced the lineup he plans to use following the team's moves at the trade deadline. Westphal will go with Tyreke Evans at point guard, Francisco Garcia at shooting guard, Omri Casspi at small forward, Carl Landry at power forward and Jason Thompson at center. Spencer Hawes and Donte Greene will return to the bench. Beno Udrih will not re-join the starting lineup.
Analysis: The Kings are still waiting for the deal to be finalized by the league, but if that is done by Saturday's game against Utah then this will be the starting lineup. Greene is one of several players who have a chance to step up their offensive production in place of Kevin Martin following his trade to Houston. However, his chances to put up consistent numbers off the bench are not great and his appeal will likely be limited to deeper leagues barring a change down the line.
News: Kings forward Donte Greene continues to play well. He had 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists Tuesday night at New York. Greene has scored in double figures in his past four games and is averaging 17.4 points and 5.6 rebounds in his past five games.
Analysis: Greene is worth adding in all leagues since he's starting for the Kings and playing at a high level. Hopefully this type of production will continue after the All-Star break, and Greene can be a nice addition for Fantasy owners down the stretch.
News: Sacramento F Donte Greene scored 13 points on 4 of 10 shooting as the Kings fell to Toronto 115-104 on Sunday. Green shot 4 of 10 from the field in his 27 minutes of play while going 3 of 3 from downtown. He also added five rebounds in the loss.
Analysis: Greene has seen an increase in his scoring as of late and has averaged 13.8 points over his last five games, including a 31 point performance on Friday. Fantasy owners might want to consider giving him the start during Fantasy Week 16 (Feb.8-14) because the Kings play two games Greene is riding a hot hand.
News: Kings SF Donte Greene recorded a new career-high 31 points on Friday night in a loss to the Suns. Greene shot 11 for 20 from the field and hit a three over 35 minutes. He added seven rebounds and two blocks.
Analysis: Greene is averaging just 11.2 points per game over his last five and that includes the career-high effort. We believe this effort from Greene was more of a fluke and aren't too excited about it. Let him prove he can do this consistently before you rush out to add him in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Kings swingman Donte Greene played 34 minutes in Saturday's game against Charlotte. He finished with only six points, adding six rebounds. Greene is averaging just 4.6 points and 3.6 rebounds over his last five games.
Analysis: Despite starting, Greene is not seeing many chances to put up big statistical numbers. He gets around 6-8 shots per game and despite being a promising young player with upside is not somebody we recommend counting on in Fantasy leagues at this time.
News: Kings SF Donte Greene was called upon to start Friday's game at Utah. Unfortunately, after four unsuccessful minutes on the court without scoring or grabbing any boards, Sacramento took Greene out and never put him back in the game.
Analysis: Greene obviously didn't show coach Paul Westphal what he wanted to see in his limited action Friday. He's averaging just 3.4 points, 2.8 boards and a block per game over his last five and after Friday, it is doubtful he'll remain a part of the rotation for the immediate future. Keep him reserved in Fantasy over Week 15 (Feb. 1-7), especially as the Kings play three times.
News: Kings F Donte Greene, who missed each of the last two games with an ankle injury, returned to the lineup Tuesday against the Magic. He played 21 minutes, finishing with seven points and three rebounds.
Analysis: Greene has been in and out of the starting lineup this season, and although he has a few big performances, he usually takes a back seat to all the other up-and-comers on the Kings' young roster. Leave him for deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Kings SF Donte Greene did not play on Saturday against Denver because of an ankle injury.
Analysis: Greene went down with the ankle injury on Tuesday. He tried to play through it, but it was just too unbearable. Sacramento is hoping a few days of rest is what Greene will need. He has some solid raw upside, but remains too erratic to trust in most formats. The pending return of Kevin Martin hurts his long-term appeal this season.
News: Kings SF Donte Greene did not play on Friday against the Warriors because of an ankle injury. He is also considered doubtful for Saturday against the Nuggets.
News: The Sacramento Bee reports that Donte Greene (ankle) did not practice for a second straight day Thursday. He is considered doubtful for the team's next two games.
Analysis: Greene left the first half of Tuesday's game against the Suns with the injury and played briefly in the second half. He started the game at shooting guard and has been in and out of the starting lineup recently. He has some solid raw upside, but remains too erratic to trust in most formats. The pending return of Kevin Martin hurts his long-term appeal this season.
News: Kings swingman Donte Greene (ankle) sat out Wednesday's practice, according to the Sacramento Bee. He received treatment for his sprained left ankle and is considered day-to-day.
News: Kings SF Donte Greene left in the second quarter Tuesday against the Suns with a sprained left ankle but returned in the second half. He had two points, five rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals in 17 minutes.
Analysis: Greene has had a couple big games this season, but the Kings have so many other young scorers he tends to get lost in the shuffle. He's not worth using except in deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Kings SF Donte Greene scored 21 points on Wednesday during a loss to the 76ers. Greene shot 7 of 16 from the field and hit his seventh three in his last five games. He added six boards, three dimes and two blocks over 29 minutes.
Analysis: Greene has scored in double figures in four straight games and is averaging almost 15 points per over his last five. Greene combines decent scoring with an excellent number of blocked shots and three-point shooting. That is an odd combo for a small forward and makes him really display his Fantasy value for deeper leagues. As long as he keeps playing this way, he should begin to see ownership in a far greater number of leagues than just the 7 percent in which he's currently owned.
News: Kings SF Donte Greene started Friday's loss to the Timberwolves but failed to tally a point. He did manage seven rebounds.
Analysis: Greene has some potential, but his scoring and minutes are way too inconsistent for Fantasy play right now. The Kings have several up-and-comers, causing Greene to go overlooked much of the time. Leave him for deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Kings SF Donte Greene continued to start Wednesday at San Antonio and had 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 24 minutes. Since moving into the starting lineup Nov. 25, he has scored more than 20 points twice and less than 10 points five times. Only once has he scored in between.
Analysis: Greene has some potential, but his scoring is way too inconsistent for Fantasy play right now. The Kings have several up-and-comers, causing Greene to go overlooked much of the time. Leave him for deeper Fantasy leagues.
News: Criticized as an immature player following a poor rookie season, SF Donte Greene is starting to become a difference maker for the Kings. Greene enjoyed his most productive NBA game Wednesday night, making six 3-pointers and tying a career high with 24 points in 35 minutes against the visiting Knicks. Greene declared for the NBA draft following one season at Syracuse University. It looked like a mistake to many when Greene played sparingly a year ago, averaging 3.8 points for the NBA's worst team and shooting 32 percent. After spending the early season this year on the bench, injuries and illness have given Greene playing time, and he's produced. He also scored 24 points in an earlier game and has averaged 20.3 in his three starts.
Analysis: Greene certainly made a statement for increased playing time, doing more than just making shots. He had career highs of six blocks and five assists. "We knew he (Greene) can shoot," Knicks G Nate Robinson said. "But some of the shots he made, we're like 'Whoa, there goes another dagger.'" Greene will need a few more performances like this one to deserve a look off the waiver wire, but given his upside, he certainly bears watching in Fantasy.
News: The Sacramento Bee reports that Tyreke Evans was held out of Saturday's lineup in Houston due to a sprained middle finger and sore right ankle. Donte Greene got the start in his place against the Rockets.
Analysis: Evans should be considered day to day. It is unlikely that a mere sprained finger will keep him out for long, however. The Kings play four games in Fantasy Week 5 (Nov. 23-29) and he remains a relatively safe play in weekly formats. Greene is not a good option.
News: Kings rookie Donte Greene played power forward for the first time all season Tuesday against Indiana. He played seven minutes and recorded one assist.
Analysis: Greene has minimal Fantasy value at this time and should be used until he starts getting regular minutes. For now, his only value is in deep keeper formats.
News: With a shortened bench, Kings F Donte Greene played 18 minutes in a 116-106 win over Memphis on Friday, scoring 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting. It was only the third time he reached double digits in scoring this season.
Analysis: Greene is only getting time while the Kings get their new players into town and get settled and healthy. He is not worth owning in Fantasy and should be ignored in all leagues.
News: The Sacramento Bee notes that Donte Greene made his official return from a five-game stay with the Kings' development league team in Reno to log just 8 1/2 minutes against Denver Tuesday. "We'll give him an opportunity," coach Kenny said. "We brought Donte back because we wanted to give him some playing time. So we will shuffle it some way ... . We are playing smaller lineups, so that may be an opportunity to play him at power forward, small forward, (so) we'll see."
Analysis: The report adds that in his five games coming off the bench for the Bighorns, Greene averaged 20.4 points (on 44.6 percent shooting), 4.2 rebounds, two assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks. While Greene had not played in six of the seven games before he joined the Bighorns, Natt said he can now expect more playing time. How much playing time, exactly, remains to be seen. Fantasy owners should only monitor his progress for now.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that Kings F Donte' Greene had his first double-digit scoring game since he tallied a career-high 15 points against New Orleans on Nov. 19, scoring 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting against Minnesota on Monday at Arco Arena. After a lengthy shooting slump, Greene has hit 11-of-18 shots in his last four games.
Analysis: The solid output is great, but the bottom line is that Greene got hot. Nothing more. He's still averaging just 6.6 points and 2.0 rebounds over his last five contests and does far too little to be considered viable in Fantasy just yet.
News: The Kings will play three road games in Fantasy Week 1 (Oct. 27-Nov. 2). They will travel to Minnesota, Miami and Orlando to begin the season.
Analysis: With a full three-game schedule this week, Kevin Martin and John Salmons are great starts. Francisco Garcia has some upside in deeper formats that use four or five forwards, but it is recommended to monitor him before activating. Up front, Mikki Moore could have some sleeper value in Rotisserie formats for rebounds with Miller out, but he is a low-end option at best for deep formats. Jason Thompson, Shelden Williams, Quincy Doubty, Bobby Jones and Donte Greene are not recommended options this week.
News: The Rockets announced the five-player trade with Sacramento Friday that included Ron Artest and also brought forward Patrick Ewing Jr. and guard Sean Singletary in exchange for guard Bobby Jackson, rookie forward Donte Greene and Houston's first-round pick next year.
Analysis: Greene was traded before playing a minute in the NBA. Welcome to the big leagues, rookie. The move was delayed a month because Greene, acquired by the Rockets on draft night last month, signed a contract with Houston on July 14. A player can't be traded within 30 days of signing a contract, according to league rules. He'll play backup minutes in Sacramento and won't be a desirable Fantasy option in most drafts.
News: The Houston Rockets are close to an agreement to acquire Ron Artest from the Sacramento Kings, two people familiar with the negotiations told the Associated Press. The Rockets will give up guard Bobby Jackson, who played for the Kings from 2000-05, and another player -- likely rookie forward Donte Greene, according to two NBA people who confirmed the deal, but spoke on condition of anonymity because no official announcement had been made.
Analysis: Greene gets traded before playing a minute in the NBA. Welcome to the big leagues, rookie. Artest's long-anticipated move out of Sacramento probably can't be announced yet because Greene, acquired by the Rockets on draft night last month, signed a contract with Houston on July 14. A player can't be traded within 30 days of signing a contract, according to league rules. He'll play backup minutes in Sacramento and won't be a desirable Fantasy option in most drafts.
