Morris was 9 for 16 from the field, adding seven rebounds, four assists and one block. He is averaging 15.4 points, 2.2 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game.

(3/22/2015) Suns forward Markieff Morris scored 19 points on 7 of 17 shooting from the field in Phoenix's 98-92 win over the Mavericks Sunday. Morris also pulled down 13 rebounds in the contest, leading to his 10th double-double of the season and first of the month.

Morris also added one assist and one steal to his totals.

(3/12/2015) Suns power forward Markieff Morris scored a team-high 24 points on 10 of 15 shooting in his team's 106-97 win over the Timberwolves Wednesday.

Morris was excellent from the field Wednesday, delivering his most efficient shooting performance since going 15 for 21 in mid-January. He also chipped in three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 37 minutes to help his team stop its two-game skid.

The Suns will square off with the Hawks Friday.


NBA fines Suns' Alex Len $20,000; Markieff Morris $15,000

(3/3/2015) The NBA fined Suns center Alex Len $20,000 for his role in an altercation during Monday's loss to the Heat, reports the Sun Sentinel.

Len and Heat center Hassan Whiteside were both ejected from the game after getting into the altercation. The NBA said Len was the instigator of the quarrel.

The NBA also fined forward Markieff Morris $15,000 for his Flagrant 2 foul on former teammate Goran Dragic. Morris was ejected from the game after a hard foul on Dragic.

(3/2/2015) Suns forward Markieff Morris was ejected from Monday's game against the Heat after committing a hard foul on former teammate Goran Dragic.

Dragic went to drive the lane for a breakaway layup and Morris pushed him hard into the ground, leading to a flagrant foul 2 and an ejection.

Morris finished with 13 points and five rebounds in 22 minutes.

It was Morris' first 30-plus point performance of the month and first since Jan. 13 when he scored 35 points. It was the third time overall this season Morris has scored at least 30 in a game. He added four rebounds and two blocks to his totals.

Morris turned in his seventh double-double of the season Friday, helping to record the team's second straight home win against an Eastern Conference opponent. He also kicked in three assists and one block in 32 minutes of action. The Suns will square off with the Warriors Saturday.


Report: Markieff and Marcus Morris under police investigation

(1/29/2015) Phoenix police are investigating Suns forwards Markieff Morris and Marcus Morris for an alleged assault, reports CBS 5 News in Phoenix.

The alleged incident occurred at 7:30 p.m. last Saturday outside a gym in central Phoenix. While no suspects have been named, a source told CBS 5 News the two players are considered suspects in the alleged assault.

Both players played in Wednesday's win over the Wizards.

(1/13/2015) Suns power forward Markieff Morris scored a career-high 35 points on 15 of 21 shooting in his team's 107-100 win over the Cavaliers Tuesday.

All five Suns starters reached double digits in scoring, but it was Morris who put on a show, taking more than 20 shots for just the second time this season and having similar success to his first high-volume game, in which he made 14 of his 21 attempts. He also recorded seven rebounds, one assist and one steal in 38 minutes Tuesday.

Morris is set to square off with the Timberwolves Friday.

It was Morris' first double-digit rebounding night and double-double since Dec. 5. It was his sixth overall on the season.

It was also Morris' third game in his last four where he was able to score at least 20 points in a game. Morris also had two assists and one steal on the night.

Morris shot 7 of 12 from field including 3 of 4 from the 3-point line. He also added three rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block. Morris has now made at least three 3-point conversions in consecutive games for the first time this season.

The Suns next play Sunday against the Raptors.

He also picked up three steals in the well-rounded effort. The Suns have another date with the Nuggets scheduled for Friday.

Suns' Markieff Morris expects to play center 'a lot' this season

"Coach [Jeff Hornacek] told me I'll play the five a lot when we need to speed it up," Morris said.

Morris will help fill the void left by Channing Frye, who left for Orlando in the offseason. Off the bench, Morris made 81 appearances, averaging 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds on 48.6 percent shooting.

(9/29/2014) The Suns have signed forwards Marcus Morris and Markieff Morris to multi-year contract extensions, the team announced Monday. Markieff agreed on a four-year, $32 million extension, while his twin brother Marcus signed a four-year, $20 million extension.

Markieff averaged 13.8 points, 6.0 rebounds on 48.6 percent shooting from the field in 81 games, all a career-high. Marcus registered career-highs of 9.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 44.2 percent field goal shooting and 38.1 percent three-point shooting while playing in all 82 games for Phoenix.

Morris has topped 20 points in three straight games, the second such streak he's had this season. However, the difference with Tuesday's performance was that 20 shots represented a season high for the forward. He also added three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 33 minutes Tuesday. Morris has averaged 13.1 points and 5.8 rebounds over 55 games played.
