Heat part ways with Harrellson

News: Miami has decided not to re-sign center Josh Harrellson. The Heat gave Harrellson one 10-day contract, but decided not to sign him to another.
Analysis: The 23-year-old Harrellson played in six games with the Heat and averaged 1.7 points and 1.2 rebounds. Without a team, Harrellson has no Fantasy value at this time.

Heat re-sign Harrellson

News: The Sun-Sentinel reports the Heat re-signed center Josh Harrellson to a 10-day contract Wednesday.
Analysis: Harrellson was a seldom-used player before being waived earlier in the week. He will go back to being roster depth and can be ignored in Fantasy.

Heat waves bye to Harrellson

News: The Heat released seldom-used center Josh Harrellson on Monday, the last day before contracts became guaranteed for the remainder of the season. Harrellson played in just five games for Miami with his final appearance coming last Wednesday against Dallas (one minute).
Analysis: Harrellson logged more than five minutes only once in his limited playing time, but will now attempt to latch on with another team. He has also played for the Knicks in his brief NBA career, however, he should remain untouched on waivers in all Fantasy formats.

Harrellson makes rare appearance

News: Heat center Josh Harrellson saw the court for just the fourth time this season during Saturday's contest against the Bucks. Harrellson scored as season-high five points on 2 of 5 shooting, while missing all three of his shots from downtown in a 104-85 defeat. He also added two rebounds and a block in just 18 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Harrellson was able to get in while the game was out of hand. It was surprising to see him come out of the rotation ahead of Rashard Lewis, who has barely seen the court in December. Harrellson obviously does not play enough to make any sort of Fantasy impact, so continue to ignore him in all formats.

Harrellson sitting out

News: Miami power forward Chris Bosh and center Josh Harrellson will miss Saturday's game against Utah due to flu-like symptoms. Both missed shootaround.

Rockets acquire F Harrellson

News: The Rockets acquired Jerome Jordan, Josh Harrellson and Toney Douglas in a trade with the New York Knicks for Marcus Camby Monday.
Analysis: The 23-year-old Harrellson played in 37 games for the Knicks as a rookie out of Kentucky last year. He averaged 4.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and half a steal and block per game. Harrellson could see more run with the Rockets, but doesn't figure to pick up much Fantasy value outside the deepest of leagues.

Harrellson active for Knicks

News: New York center Josh Harrellson (wrist) was active for Wednesday's game against Cleveland. Harrellson had been missing time with a wrist issue. He is healthy now after practicing on Tuesday. That said, coach Mike D'Antoni doesn't know if he'll be used in the rotation.
Analysis: Harrellson is a rookie out of Kentucky. He's played in 16 games this season and is averaging 18.5 minutes in those games. That said, when he plays, he averages just 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds. Right now he's not in the rotation and that keeps him off rosters in the majority of Fantasy leagues.

Harrellson coming back for Knicks

News: The Knicks expect to get center Josh Harrellson back at practice on Tuesday, reports the team's official site. Harrellson has been out with a wrist injury, though he's been medically cleared to return.
Analysis: Harrellson could return to the court as early as Wednesday against Cleveland. The rookie should see some minutes behind Amar'e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler. However, he isn't expect to play a major role. Harrellson will have limited Fantasy value, when healthy.

Harrellson could return after break

News: Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni told NBA.com that rookie center Josh Harrellson could return to the floor on Wednesday against Cleveland, the team's first game back from the All-Star break.
Analysis: The 23-year-old rookie out of Kentucky has played in 16 games for New York this year. He has averaged 18.5 minutes per game to go with 5.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and a 3-pointer per night. When healthy, Harrellson will only have low-end Fantasy appeal.

Harrellson back after break?

News: Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said Saturday that center Josh Harrellson is expected to undergo X-rays on Sunday during the All-Star break, reports the team's official site. The X-rays will determine if he's ready to play after the break.

Harrellson undergoes surgery

News: Knicks F Josh Harrellson underwent successful surgery on his broken wrist on Tuesday. Harrellson, who sustained the injury during Saturday's loss to the Nuggets, is expected to be sidelined for six weeks.
Analysis: Harrellson, a rookie out of Kentucky, was averaging 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game before the injury, but will now be out of commission until at least March. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the rookies recovery over the next few months to see when he will be able to return. While Harrellson has some upside, he should be dropped in the majority of formats until he returns.

Harrellson has surgery Tuesday

News: New York C Josh Harrellson underwent surgery on his fractured right wrist on Tuesday, according to Newsday. Harrellson is expected to miss six to eight weeks of playing time after suffering the injury while diving for a loose ball during last Saturday's game against Denver.
Analysis: Harrellson, a rookie out of Kentucky, was averaging 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game before the injury, but could be sidelined for nearly two months. The Knicks promoted Jerome Jordan from the NBA Developmental League on Monday and he could see some playing time in Harrellson's absence. Fantasy owners should drop Harrellson is all formats while he's sidelined.

Harrellson fractures right wrist

News: Knicks rookie center Josh Harrellson fractured his right wrist during Saturday night's contest against the Nuggets and is expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks, reports the New York Daily News. Harrellson sustained the injury in the fourth quarter after taking a hard fall diving for a loose ball. He finished with two points and six rebounds prior to leaving the contest.
Analysis: Tough break for Harrellson, who could be sideline for up to two months with his injury. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his recovery moving forward. The rookie out of Kentucky is averaging 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds on the year thus far. Leave him reserved on in deeper formats, until he gets himself healthy.

Harrellson playing better

News: Knicks C Josh Harrellson was able to get his scoring back into double figures during Saturday night's contest against the Thunder. Harrellson finished with 13 points in the 104-92 loss on 5 of 10 shooting from the field. He went 2 for 5 from behind the arc and also chipped in with four rebounds and three steals, while logging 20 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Harrellson has started to see more run of late and has been taking advantage of his extra minutes. The rookie is averaging 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds over his last five contest, to go along with 1.4 steals. He is also shooting 49 percent from the field over that stretch and looks to have carved out a small niche in the Knicks' rotation. As long he can maintain his current production, Harrellson can be considered a low-end option, with upside in deeper formats.

Harrellson seeing limited minutes

News: New York C Josh Harrellson saw 19 minutes off the bench on Monday in a win over the Bobcats. Harrellson shot 0 for 1 from the floor and scored just one point on a free throw. Harrellson added six rebounds and two steals in the win for the Knicks.
Analysis: The 22-year-old rookie out of Kentucky has been a nice help off the bench late in games for New York. That said, he's averaging just 3.2 points per game over his last five contests over just 20 minutes a night. Harrellson has low-end Fantasy value at this moment.

Harrellson plays big in Amar’e’s absence

News: Knicks C Josh Harrellson had just 29 minutes of playing time under his belt during the team’s first three games before being pushed into a starting role Saturday night against Sacramento with Amar’e Stoudemire’s ankle injury. In his first NBA start, Harrellson played 38 minutes, scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. He was five-of-11 from the field including four-of-eight from beyond the three-point line as the Knicks defeated the Kings 114-92.
Analysis: Leading the team in rebounding while scoring 14 in a blowout win is a sure-fire way to make your presence felt when stepping in for a superstar. It was an impressive performance for Harrellson, who almost certainly has earned himself more playing time than he was receiving prior to the start. When Stoudemire gets back, don’t be surprised to see Harrellson’s minutes go up. Despite this, he’s still a reserve at this point and should not be targeted on any Fantasy team.

Knicks sign Harrellson

News: New York signed rookie C Josh Harrellson on Sunday to help boost its roster to 11 players and give the Knicks enough healthy bodies to hold a normal practice.
Analysis: The 6-foot-10, 275-pound Harrellson could add some bulk off the bench after the Knicks acquired the former Kentucky center’s draft rights from New Orleans. He isn't expected to be a major Fantasy contributor and should be ignored in 2011-12 Fantasy drafts.

Harrellson joins Knicks

News: The Sports Xchange reports the Hornets targeted a handful of players they thought could help and who might be available with the 45th pick in the draft. When all of those players were gone before their turn came, the Hornets sold their only pick in the draft to the Knicks. New Orleans picked center Josh Harrellson of Kentucky for the Knicks, then shipped his rights to them for nearly $1 million.
Analysis: Harrellson will compete for a roster spot, but going to the Knicks could be just what he needs since they need help up front. Still, Harrellson has minimal Fantasy value in the majority of leagues. Ignore him on Draft Day.
