Green also set a season-high scoring mark Friday by putting up 18 points in Minnesota but topped that performance Saturday, making a season-best 80 percent of his shots and sinking five three-pointers for the first time this season. He also racked up seven rebounds, three blocks and two assists in 33 minutes off the bench. Green will look to stay hot Wednesday against the Pacers.

Foot to keep Danny Green out Friday

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

Danny Green's MRI comes back clean

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/27/2014) Spurs guard Danny Green seems to have avoided a serious injury, after an MRI taken Thursday revealed no structural damage to his sore right foot. Green left the team's previous game Wednesday as a result of the injury, and is officially listed as questionable for Friday's game in Denver.

Green has been dealing with the injury over the last few games, telling the San Antonio Express-News he has been fighting through it since Saturday. He will test the injury at Friday's shootaround.

Danny Green to have MRI on foot injury

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/27/2014) Spurs guard Danny Green was back on the floor Wednesday against the Nuggets, after getting a night off in the team's previous game. Unfortunately, he could not get through the contest, as he was forced to leave after just 17 minutes due to a mid-foot sprain.

Green was productive prior to the injury, finishing with 16 points on 5 of 9 shooting, with one rebound and one assist. Unfortunately, he could not return after the injury, and was spotted in a boot following the game.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, Green is set for an MRI on the foot Thursday. For his part, Green told reporters he did not expect to miss time, and coach Gregg Popovich did not rule him out for Friday's game.

Tiago Splitter, Danny Green to return from rest

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/25/2014) Spurs guard Danny Green and Tiago Splitter are expected back in the lineup Wednesday against the Nuggets, after sitting out the team's previous game in order to rest, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich told the Express-News Tuesday he expects to continue giving the team's non-star players additional resting time. He specifically mentioned Splitter and Green as candidates down the stretch, with Green still nursing a wrist issue.

"Those guys have been playing a lot of minutes," he said. "Danny has had that wrist (sprain) and Tiago has been doing yeoman's work underneath the last two, three, four games as far as having to be banging around with those big guys. It was great to give…his body a little bit of a rest. It worked out well."

Danny Green's wrist not an issue

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/20/2014) Spurs guard Danny Green was able to play through a wrist injury Wednesday against the Lakers, and the injury did not seem to limit him at all.

Green, who underwent an MRI on his sore wrist Monday, dropped 16 points on 6 of 8 shooting, with three 3-pointers made.  He added a pair of assists and steals, along with one rebound and one block in 24 minutes, as the Spurs went on to win comfortably, 125-109.

Green has been fighting through this injury over the last few games, but it hasn't impacted him much. He is still averaging 10.0 points per game on 50.0 percent shooting from the field and 56.5 percent from three-point range over the last five.

Green played 24 minutes, one night after being limited to 10. He scored 14 points on 5 of 11 including four made 3-pointers, so the wrist clearly wasn't giving him much trouble. He added six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in the win.

Danny Green held quiet while dealing with wrist soreness

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/12/2014) The Spurs jumped out to an early commanding lead Tuesday against the Bulls, allowing guard Danny Green to rest his sore wrist. Green played just 10 scoreless minutes in the game, though there is no indication that the injury kept him out of the lineup any more than the lopsided score.

The Spurs play again Wednesday against the Blazers, so the short leash should help keep him fresh.

He also filled up the box score nicely, adding seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal, though he also turned the ball over four times in the win.

Green has been a disappointment this season following his breakout campaign a year ago. He is averaging just 7.7 points per game, his lowest total since 2010-11.

"He's doing pretty well," head coach Gregg Popovich said. “He's been checked by the doctors — we looked at him on Friday — and on Monday he's going to do a little competitive stuff and see how he looks. Probably sometime next week he'll be ready to go unless he doesn't look the way we want him to look."
