Blake Griffin scores 24 points in Game 7 win

(5/4/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin scored a team-high 24 points on 10 of 18 scoring as four Clippers scored at least 20 points in a 126-121 Game 7 win over the Warriors Saturday.

Griffin seemingly willed in an acrobatic basket with just under a minute remaining to cap off an excellent performance as the Clippers move along to face the Thunder in the Conference Semifinals. Griffin finished with six assists, five rebounds, three steals and three blocks in the win.

(4/22/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin put together a dominant effort on Monday, scoring a game-high 35 points in his team's 138-98 victory over the Warriors in Game 2 of the opening round of the playoffs.

Griffin shot 13 of 17 from the floor, and 9 of 10 from the charity stripe. He also chipped in with six rebounds, one assist and two steals while logging 30 minutes of game action. He has combined for 51 points, nine rebounds and four assists through his first two postseason games.

Blake Griffin earns 16th tech, suspension

(4/16/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin did not travel with the team to Portland for Wednesday's season finale, after picking up his 16th technical foul of the season Tuesday. That technical triggers an automatic suspension, and with just one game left, there isn't a great chance the league will rescind the technical.

The technical was the lone blemish on an otherwise fantastic game for Griffin, as he scored a game-high 24 points on 9 of 17 shooting. He added five rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in a 117-105 win over the Nuggets.

Griffin shot 7 of 14 from the floor, and 9 of 14 from the charity stripe. He finished with 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals while logging 31 minutes of game action in a 120-97 victory. He is averaging 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists over his last five games.

(4/4/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin told reporters after Thursday's loss to the Mavericks that his ankle and back are fine, NBA.com reports.

Griffin, who had been plagued by back spasms, slipped to one knee in the final seconds of the game before walking off under his own power. He still managed to record his fourth career triple-double, with 25 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. He'll look to get back on the court Sunday against the Lakers.

(4/4/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin put up a monster performance on Thursday, notching his fourth career triple-double, but left in the final seconds of a 113-107 loss to the Mavericks with a right ankle injury.

Griffin, who had been plagued by back spasms entering Thursday, tweaked his right ankle while catching an inbound pass with 9.8 seconds remaining in the game. He was taken out of the game as a precaution.

Griffin scored 25 points on 9 of 23 from the floor, and a perfect 7 of 7 from the free throw line. He completed the triple-double with 11 assists and 10 rebounds. He also contributed with one block and one steal while logging 40 minutes of game action. His status remains uncertain for Sunday against the Lakers.

(4/3/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin played well in his return from a back injury Wednesday, in a 112-108 win over the Suns.

Griffin played 34 minutes after missing the team's previous game with back spasms, and scored 23 after consecutive games falling short of 20 points. He shot 7 of 15 from the field and 9 of 10 at the free-throw line, while adding six rebounds and three assists, though he also turned the ball over three times in the win.

Griffin has taken his game to another level in his fourth season, averaging a career-high 24.0 points per game on 53.2 percent shooting. He is adding 9.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists while appearing in 75 of the team's first 76 games.

(4/2/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Suns, after missing just one game with back spasms. Griffin was considered a game-time decision Wednesday, and received the go-ahead shortly before tip.

Griffin suffered the injury Saturday and could be on a minutes limit for a few days.

Griffin tweaked his back in the first half of Saturday's game against the Rockets. He is averaging 22.9 points, 8.6 boards and 4.5 assists in 14 March games. His next chance to play will come Wednesday at Phoenix.

Coach Doc Rivers said Griffin has a "50-50" shot at playing. Griffin logged just six minutes in Los Angeles' previous game against Houston before back spasms forced him out.

Doc Rivers won't play less-than 100 percent Blake Griffin

(3/29/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin is day-to-day moving forward after leaving Saturday's game against the Rockets with lower back spasms. If coach Doc Rivers has his way, however, Griffin will be missing some time in the coming days, as he told the Orange County Register following the game.

"It's clearly something that if [trainer Jasen Powell says to me], 'It's your call,' then, it's 'No,'" Rivers said. "If it's my call, then no."

Unless Griffin is fully cleared by trainers, it looks like he might be held out of the team's upcoming games. The Clippers face the Timberwolves Monday, and Griffin will undergo further evaluation Sunday.

(3/29/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin tweaked his back in the first half of Saturday's game against the Rockets, and is unlikely to return to action as a result. Griffin went to the locker room with trainers immediately after suffering the injury, and was diagnosed with lower back spasms.

If Griffin is unable to return, he will likely be considered day to day moving forward. The Clippers' next game is set for Monday against the Timberwolves.

Griffin scored 21 points on 9 of 18 shooting, and 3 of 4 from the free throw line. He did all of his damage in 38 minutes of game action, also adding 11 rebounds, eight assists and one block. He is averaging 27.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists over his last five appearances.

(3/11/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin had an efficient, yet busy night on Monday, scoring 37 points while getting fouled out with 3:23 remaining in the fourth quarter against the Suns.

Griffin shot 14 of 16 from the floor, and 9 of 10 from the free throw line. He was also involved in an altercation with P.J. Tucker minutes before he was fouled out. Griffin got tangled up with Tucker on the floor and took an elbow to the head from Tucker. Tucker was ejected and Griffin was fouled out moments later.

Griffin also had six rebounds, three assists and one steal while logging 32 minutes of game action. He is averaging 25.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists over his last five games.

Griffin's 16 rebounds were a high for the month of February and a stark departure from his last two games, when he totaled just 11 rebounds. He also pitched in three assists, two steals and one block in 40 minutes of action Wednesday. Griffin has averaged 24.5 points and 9.8 rebounds over 61 games played.

In addition to logging his sixth double-double in eight February games Tuesday, Griffin scored 35 points or more for the sixth time in his last seven contests. Before February, he had reached that scoring level just twice this season. Griffin also chipped in four assists and two steals in 38 minutes Tuesday. He has averaged 24.6 points and 9.8 rebounds over 57 games played.

Griffin shot 19 of 23 from the floor, but missed all two of his attempts from downtown. He also added six rebounds, one assist and two steals while logging 32 minutes of game action in a 163-155 defeat to the Eastern Conference.

He made a brief exit after suffering the injury in the first half, and with the game well in hand, Griffin sat out the final quarter of the game. He scored 26 points on 11 of 14 shooting from the floor, and 4 of 4 from the charity stripe. He also chipped in with 11 rebounds, six assists and one steal while logging 25 minutes of game action.

Griffin has averaged 33.2 points, 11.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists over his last five games.

Griffin has scored 36 points or more in three straight games, and 19 of his points Friday came in the first quarter alone. However, he ended a streak of three straight double-doubles by hauling in eight rebounds in the win.

Griffin kicked in two assists, two steals and one block in 28 minutes of work, seeing less time than normal after getting into foul trouble in the third quarter. He has averaged 23.9 points and 9.8 rebounds over 53 games played.

Griffin shot 13 of 21 from the floor, and 10 of 16 from the free throw line. He finished the game with a double-double -- scoring a team-high 36 points and snagging 11 boards, with six of them coming from the offensive end of the glass. He also chipped in with four assists and one steal while logging 38 minutes of game action.

Griffin has doubled up 29 times this season. He has averaged 27.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists over his last five games played.
