Clippers PF Blake Griffin delivers 31-13 line vs. Spurs

(1/31/2015) Clippers power forward Blake Griffin scored a team-high 31 points on 12 of 21 shooting while hauling in 13 rebounds in his team's 105-85 win over the Spurs in San Antonio Saturday.

Griffin turned in just his fourth double-double of the month thanks to an efficient shooting performance and his best rebounding total since grabbing 15 on Christmas Day. He also kicked in five assists and one block in 35 minutes in the win, his team's seventh in its last eight games. Griffin will square off with the Nets Monday.

(1/27/2015) Clippers forward Blake Griffin just missed out on a triple-double on Monday against the Nuggets.

Griffin shot 6-17 from the field. He sunk two of his free throws, finishing with 14 points. Griffin made sure to involve his teammates, dishing out 10 assists. He was also a force on the boards, pulling down nine rebounds. Had he pulled down one more rebound, it would have been Griffin's first triple-double of the season.

The Western Conference starters will be coached by rookie coach Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors. Here are his starters for the game:

(1/17/2015) Clippers power forward Blake Griffin scored a team-high 34 points on 14 of 23 shooting while hauling in 10 rebounds in his team's 126-121 loss to the Cavaliers Friday.

Griffin's double-double was just his second in his last 10 games, while his 14 made field goals matched a season high. The 34 points represented his highest scoring total since exploding for 45 points in an early December game. Griffin also kicked in six rebounds, three assists and one steal. The Clippers will look to bounce back Saturday against the Kings.


Clippers' Blake Griffin given one month to settle criminal complaint

(1/12/2015) Clippers forward Blake Griffin’s attorney was given one month to settle a criminal complaint against Griffin, reports Sports Illustrated.

A man alleges Griffin attacked him in a Las Vegas Strip nightclub in October after the man took a photo of Griffin and his teammates. Griffin was charged with one count of misdemeanor battery. The next court date is Feb. 17.

(12/30/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin had 24 points, six rebounds and seven assists in Los Angeles' 101-97 win over the Jazz Monday.

Griffin also had three blocks and two steals in the contest. He was also called for a technical foul late in the game when trying to block a shot and was called for a foul instead. Griffin reacted strongly and was immediately giving the technical.

Griffin and the Clippers next play Wednesday against the Knicks.

Griffin shot 9-17 from the field. He sunk three free throws, finishing with 21 points. He made sure to involve his teammates, picking up 11 assists. He added eight rebounds and one block.

Griffin's performance marked his second straight double-double after he posted a 31-16 line Wednesday. His 18 free-throw attempts represented a season high. Griffin also chipped in three assists and one steal in 41 minutes in the loss. He'll square off with the Bucks Saturday.

Griffin matched his season high in rebounds while delivering his sixth double-double of the season. He played 40 minutes while kicking in five assists and one steal in the win. He'll square off with the Nuggets Friday.

Griffin set a season high with 15 free throws attempted Saturday but couldn't match his 72.5 success rate on free throws coming into the game. It was the fourth time this season the power forward has scored at least 30 points. Griffin also racked up seven rebounds, five assists and one steal in 30 minutes. The Clippers take a seven-game winning streak into Monday's matchup with the Suns.

Report: Blake Griffin charged with battery, Dec. 8 court date set

(11/12/2014) Clippers power forward Blake Griffin has been charged with battery in relation to an incident outside a Las Vegas club, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Griffin has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery. A report by Yahoo! Sports in October said that Griffin was being investigated due to a complaint stemming from the Las Vegas incident. Griffin's court date is set for Dec. 8, a date on which the Clippers host the Suns.

Griffin had a towel over his head throughout the majority of the third quarter, but was able to return to the floor and score six of his 23 points. He shot 8 of 24 from the floor and converted 7 of 8 free throw attempts. He also chipped in with six rebounds and three assists while logging 35 minutes of game action.

Griffin made both his three-point shots and 11 of his 12 free throws while delivering his biggest scoring performance since Feb. 5. He added seven rebounds and four assists to the big point total in a game where the Clippers trailed after three quarters before outscoring their cross-town rivals 32-21 in the fourth.

Griffin and the Clippers will square off with the Kings Sunday.

No arrests were made and Doc Rivers has stated that the issue should not be a distraction to the team as it prepares for its preseason finale Friday against Portland.


Blake Griffin has a small fracture in his back

(7/29/2014) Though it wasn't cited in his statement to the media, one of the reason's Blake Griffin will miss the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup relates to a small fracture in his back.

According to ESPN, the injury, which he sustained in the playoffs, isn't considered serious, but he and the Clippers would rather be safe than sorry. This makes sense considering Griffin injured his knee in 2012 during a Team USA practice prior to the Summer Olympics.

Griffin enjoyed a top-notch statistical season last year, averaging 24.1 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. 


Blake Griffin, Kevin Love withdraw from Team USA activities

(7/28/2014) Team USA will be without two of its star power forwards for the August FIBA World Cup, as Blake Griffin and Kevin Love both withdrew from participation.

According to the AP, Love wants to be cautious and not risk injury while seeking a trade from the Timberwolves.

Griffin said in a statement that he appreciated the invite but would decline the opportunity in order to focus his energy on improving the Clippers.

Griffin seemingly willed in an acrobatic basket with just under a minute remaining to cap off an excellent performance as the Clippers move along to face the Thunder in the Conference Semifinals. Griffin finished with six assists, five rebounds, three steals and three blocks in the win.

That technical triggers an automatic suspension, and with just one game left, there isn't a great chance the league will rescind the technical.

The technical was the lone blemish on an otherwise fantastic game for Griffin, as he scored a game-high 24 points on 9 of 17 shooting. He added five rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in a 117-105 win over the Nuggets.
