Clippers Blake Griffin posts double-double

(11/24/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin put up a double-double on Monday.

Griffin shot 10-23 from the field, including two from the free throw line. He also pulled down 16 rebounds. Griffin just missed a triple-double, dishing out nine assists. He finished with 22 points. 


Report: Blake Griffin charged with battery, Dec. 8 court date set

(11/12/2014) Clippers power forward Blake Griffin has been charged with battery in relation to an incident outside a Las Vegas club, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Griffin has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery. A report by Yahoo! Sports in October said that Griffin was being investigated due to a complaint stemming from the Las Vegas incident. Griffin's court date is set for Dec. 8, a date on which the Clippers host the Suns.


Clippers F Blake Griffin works past stomach bug, scores 26 points

(11/8/2014) Clippers power forward Blake Griffin worked past a stomach bug in his team's 106-102 victory over the Trail Blazers on Saturday, per the team's official website.

Griffin had a towel over his head throughout the majority of the third quarter, but was able to return to the floor and score six of his 23 points. He shot 8 of 24 from the floor and converted 7 of 8 free throw attempts. He also chipped in with six rebounds and three assists while logging 35 minutes of game action.

(11/1/2014) Clippers power forward Blake Griffin scored a team-high 39 points on 13 of 23 shooting in his team's 119-111 win over the Lakers Friday.

Griffin made both his three-point shots and 11 of his 12 free throws while delivering his biggest scoring performance since Feb. 5. He added seven rebounds and four assists to the big point total in a game where the Clippers trailed after three quarters before outscoring their cross-town rivals 32-21 in the fourth.

Griffin and the Clippers will square off with the Kings Sunday.


Report: Clippers star Griffin investigated in battery complaint

(10/23/2014) The police are investigating a man's complaint that Clippers star power forward Blake Griffin attacked him during an argument over a camera at a Las Vegas strip club, per Yahoo Sports.

No arrests were made and Doc Rivers has stated that the issue should not be a distraction to the team as it prepares for its preseason finale Friday against Portland.


Blake Griffin has a small fracture in his back

(7/29/2014) Though it wasn't cited in his statement to the media, one of the reason's Blake Griffin will miss the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup relates to a small fracture in his back.

According to ESPN, the injury, which he sustained in the playoffs, isn't considered serious, but he and the Clippers would rather be safe than sorry. This makes sense considering Griffin injured his knee in 2012 during a Team USA practice prior to the Summer Olympics.

Griffin enjoyed a top-notch statistical season last year, averaging 24.1 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. 


Blake Griffin, Kevin Love withdraw from Team USA activities

(7/28/2014) Team USA will be without two of its star power forwards for the August FIBA World Cup, as Blake Griffin and Kevin Love both withdrew from participation.

According to the AP, Love wants to be cautious and not risk injury while seeking a trade from the Timberwolves.

Griffin said in a statement that he appreciated the invite but would decline the opportunity in order to focus his energy on improving the Clippers.

(5/4/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin scored a team-high 24 points on 10 of 18 scoring as four Clippers scored at least 20 points in a 126-121 Game 7 win over the Warriors Saturday.

Griffin seemingly willed in an acrobatic basket with just under a minute remaining to cap off an excellent performance as the Clippers move along to face the Thunder in the Conference Semifinals. Griffin finished with six assists, five rebounds, three steals and three blocks in the win.

(4/22/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin put together a dominant effort on Monday, scoring a game-high 35 points in his team's 138-98 victory over the Warriors in Game 2 of the opening round of the playoffs.

Griffin shot 13 of 17 from the floor, and 9 of 10 from the charity stripe. He also chipped in with six rebounds, one assist and two steals while logging 30 minutes of game action. He has combined for 51 points, nine rebounds and four assists through his first two postseason games.

Blake Griffin earns 16th tech, suspension

(4/16/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin did not travel with the team to Portland for Wednesday's season finale, after picking up his 16th technical foul of the season Tuesday. That technical triggers an automatic suspension, and with just one game left, there isn't a great chance the league will rescind the technical.

The technical was the lone blemish on an otherwise fantastic game for Griffin, as he scored a game-high 24 points on 9 of 17 shooting. He added five rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in a 117-105 win over the Nuggets.

Griffin shot 7 of 14 from the floor, and 9 of 14 from the charity stripe. He finished with 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals while logging 31 minutes of game action in a 120-97 victory. He is averaging 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists over his last five games.

Griffin, who had been plagued by back spasms, slipped to one knee in the final seconds of the game before walking off under his own power. He still managed to record his fourth career triple-double, with 25 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. He'll look to get back on the court Sunday against the Lakers.

(4/4/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin put up a monster performance on Thursday, notching his fourth career triple-double, but left in the final seconds of a 113-107 loss to the Mavericks with a right ankle injury.

Griffin, who had been plagued by back spasms entering Thursday, tweaked his right ankle while catching an inbound pass with 9.8 seconds remaining in the game. He was taken out of the game as a precaution.

Griffin scored 25 points on 9 of 23 from the floor, and a perfect 7 of 7 from the free throw line. He completed the triple-double with 11 assists and 10 rebounds. He also contributed with one block and one steal while logging 40 minutes of game action. His status remains uncertain for Sunday against the Lakers.

(4/3/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin played well in his return from a back injury Wednesday, in a 112-108 win over the Suns.

Griffin played 34 minutes after missing the team's previous game with back spasms, and scored 23 after consecutive games falling short of 20 points. He shot 7 of 15 from the field and 9 of 10 at the free-throw line, while adding six rebounds and three assists, though he also turned the ball over three times in the win.

Griffin has taken his game to another level in his fourth season, averaging a career-high 24.0 points per game on 53.2 percent shooting. He is adding 9.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists while appearing in 75 of the team's first 76 games.

(3/29/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin is day-to-day moving forward after leaving Saturday's game against the Rockets with lower back spasms. If coach Doc Rivers has his way, however, Griffin will be missing some time in the coming days, as he told the Orange County Register following the game.

"It's clearly something that if [trainer Jasen Powell says to me], 'It's your call,' then, it's 'No,'" Rivers said. "If it's my call, then no."

Unless Griffin is fully cleared by trainers, it looks like he might be held out of the team's upcoming games. The Clippers face the Timberwolves Monday, and Griffin will undergo further evaluation Sunday.

(3/29/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin tweaked his back in the first half of Saturday's game against the Rockets, and is unlikely to return to action as a result. Griffin went to the locker room with trainers immediately after suffering the injury, and was diagnosed with lower back spasms.

If Griffin is unable to return, he will likely be considered day to day moving forward. The Clippers' next game is set for Monday against the Timberwolves.

Griffin scored 21 points on 9 of 18 shooting, and 3 of 4 from the free throw line. He did all of his damage in 38 minutes of game action, also adding 11 rebounds, eight assists and one block. He is averaging 27.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists over his last five appearances.


Blake Griffin drops 37, fouls out vs. Suns

(3/11/2014) Clippers forward Blake Griffin had an efficient, yet busy night on Monday, scoring 37 points while getting fouled out with 3:23 remaining in the fourth quarter against the Suns.

Griffin shot 14 of 16 from the floor, and 9 of 10 from the free throw line. He was also involved in an altercation with P.J. Tucker minutes before he was fouled out. Griffin got tangled up with Tucker on the floor and took an elbow to the head from Tucker. Tucker was ejected and Griffin was fouled out moments later.

Griffin also had six rebounds, three assists and one steal while logging 32 minutes of game action. He is averaging 25.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists over his last five games.

Griffin's 16 rebounds were a high for the month of February and a stark departure from his last two games, when he totaled just 11 rebounds. He also pitched in three assists, two steals and one block in 40 minutes of action Wednesday. Griffin has averaged 24.5 points and 9.8 rebounds over 61 games played.
