Hawks' Teague, Carroll, Antic return to practice Monday

(3/2/2015) After sitting out Saturday's contest due to a variety of ailments, Hawks guard Jeff Teague (hamstring), forward DeMarre Carroll (shoulder) and forward Pero Antic (knee) were all able to practice Monday, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Coach Mike Budenholzer said all three players would be available to play in Tuesday's game against the Rockets.

Teague had been suffering from an illness, which caused him to miss Saturday's win over the Heat. The Hawks next play Tuesday against the Rockets.

(2/28/2015) The Hawks have ruled out Jeff Teague and DeMarre Carroll for Saturday's game against the Heat, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Teague had been dealing with an illness earlier in the week, but has been able to play through it the past couple games. It's unclear why he won't play on Saturday. Carroll has also been healthy lately, and the team may have just decided to rest their veterans.

Despite the illness, coach Mike Budenholzer said he was hopeful Teague would be able to play in Wednesday's game against the Mavericks, reports the team's official website. In 52 games, he is averaging 16.8 points and 7.3 assists.

Teague was initially listed as questionable for the game with a sore ankle, but the Atlanta Journal Constitution's Chris Vivlamore confirmed that Teague would play and be in the Hawks' starting lineup. 

The Hawks are 6.5 point favorites on the road at the Timberwolves.

(2/8/2015) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored 22 points on 9 of 13 shooting from the field in Atlanta's 94-88 loss to the Grizzlies Sunday. 

Despite a brief injury scare, Teague shot the ball well and added six assists to his totals. Teague has now scored over 20 points in each of his last four games and is averaging 23.3 points and 7.3 assists. He and the Hawks will look to bounce back Monday against the Timberwolves.


NBA announces AS skills competition participants

(2/5/2015) On Thursday, the NBA announced the competitors for the Skills Challenge to be held Feb. 14 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as part of the festivities of All-Star Weekend.

Jazz guard and defending champion Trey Burke will be joined by Wizards guard John Wall, Bulls guard Jimmy Butler, Hawks guard Jeff Teague, Raptors guard Kyle Lowry, 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams, Bucks guard Brandon Knight and Suns guard Isaiah Thomas in the skills competition.

(2/2/2015) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored 21 points on 8 of 17 shooting in Atlanta's 115-100 loss to the Pelicans Monday. Teague also dished out seven assists and grabbed two rebounds for the Hawks.

It was Teague's first 20-plus point performance in his last 10 games for Atlanta and 19th time he's done so this season. 


NBA All-Star reserves selected

(1/29/2015) The reserves for both the Eastern Conference and Western Conference All-Star squads were announced Thursday.

In the East, Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving, Bulls guard Jimmy Butler, Heat guard Dwyane Wade, Hawks guard Jeff Teague, Hawks forward Paul Millsap, Heat forward Chris Bosh and Hawks center Al Horford were selected to the All-Star team.

In the West, Rockets guard James Harden, Warriors guard Klay Thompson, Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, Clippers guard Chris Paul, Thunder forward Kevin Durant, Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge and Spurs forward Tim Duncan were named All-Star reserves.

The 2015 NBA All-Star Game will be played in New York City's Madison Square Garden on Feb. 15.


Hawks PG Jeff Teague doubles up vs. Nets Wednesday

(1/28/2015) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored 13 points on 6 of 16 shooting while dishing out 11 assists in his team's 113-102 win over the Nets Wednesday.

Teague has delivered six double-doubles during his team's current 17-game winning streak, reaching double digits in points in each of those games. He also chipped in one rebound in 30 minutes of action. The Hawks play home games Friday and Saturday in search of a perfect 17-0 record in the month of January.

Teague shot 6-13 from the field, including 1-3 from beyond the arc. He sunk four of his five free throw attempts, finishing with 17 points. Teague made it a point to get his teammates involved in the action, dishing out 11 assists. He also added three rebounds and two steals.

(1/17/2015) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored 17 points on 5 of 16 shooting and dished out 11 assists in Atlanta's 107-99 win over the Bulls Saturday. It was Teague's sixth double-double of the season and 38th of his career.

Teague also had a good defensive game, blocking three shots and grabbing three steals for the Hawks. Atlanta next squares off with the Pistons Monday in Detroit.

Teague shot 7 of 12 from the field and added six assists, one steal, one block and one rebound. He also had one turnover. Teague missed Tuesday’s win over the 76ers to rest.

"You have to look and redefine who the superstars are every day," Celtics coach Brad Stevens said. "Nobody in the league can keep Teague in front of them. Nobody."

Dennis Schroder, Thabo Sefolosha and Mike Muscala will join Kyle Korver and Al Horford in the starting lineup with 60 percent of the team's regular starting lineup being rested. Atlanta is a 12 1/2-point favorite in Philadelphia Tuesday.

Teague has racked up three straight 20-point performances after managing just three 20-point scoring totals in his previous 12 games. He played 36 minutes without turning the ball over, racking up eight assists, four rebounds and three steals. The Hawks will travel to Portland to face the Blazers Saturday.

(12/30/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague was an efficient 8 of 13 from the field for 23 points to help lead the Hawks to a 109-101 victory over the Cavaliers Tuesday.

Teague dished out 11 assists for his third double-double of the season. He also added three steals and five rebounds.

"Not our best or prettiest game, give Cleveland credit but our guys found enough ways to make plays and win," Coach Mike Budenholzer said, per Hawks TV.

The Hawks next play Friday at Utah.

(12/27/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague scored a game-high 25 points to help lead the Hawks to a 90-85 victory over the 76ers Saturday.

Teague shot 7 of 14 from the field including 1 of 4 from 3-point range. He was able to convert all 10 of his free-throw attempts. Teague also added eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal. It was the first time Teague scored 20 or more points in a game since Dec. 13 against the Magic.

The Hawks next play Tuesday against the Cavaliers.

(12/26/2014) What was anticipated now appears set - Hawks talented guard Jeff Teague is destined to return to the starting lineup for the Friday night game against visiting Milwaukee, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Teague came off the bench in favor of Dennis Schroder after returning from a hamstring injury, but that arrangement was not destined to continue. Teague is having a brilliant season in which he's averaging 16.5 points and 7.2 assists per game.
