Hawks guard Jeff Teague scores 30 points in losing effort

(5/24/2015) Hawks guard Jeff Teague scored 30 points on 9 of 23 shooting from the field, including 3 of 8 from 3-point range, in Atlanta's 114-111 loss to the Cavaliers in overtime in Game 3.

Teague also dished out seven assists and pulled down six rebounds in the contest. His 30 points was a playoff career-high for Teague, who was a perfect 9 for 9 from the free throw line. He and the Hawks will look to stave off elimination on Tuesday against the Cavaliers.

(5/20/2015) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored a team-high 27 points on 11 of 24 shooting in his team's 97-89 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday.

The Hawks' offense ran through Teague on Wednesday, as he had twice as many shots as the player with the next most attempts on the team. Though he managed to have a quality scoring game, the Hawks were held to just 38 points in the second half after entering halftime tied at 51. Teague also kicked in four assists, three rebounds and two steals in 39 minutes.

The Hawks will look to even the series in Game 2 in Atlanta on Friday.

The win sent the Hawks into the Eastern Conference finals against Cleveland. 

Teague shot 8 of 13, 2 of 4 on 3-pointers. He added seven assists and five rebounds.

(5/11/2015) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored 26 points on 9 of 20 shooting from the field, including 2 of 4 from 3-point range, in Atlanta's 106-101 win over the Wizards on Monday to even up the Eastern Conference semifinals at 2-2.

Teague added eight assists and four rebounds to his totals in 32 minutes of action. It was his first 20-plus point game of the series and is averaging 14.9 points per game in the postseason.

(5/10/2015) Wizards guard Bradley Beal was annoyed with the flagrant foul Hawks guard Jeff Teague committed against him, according to CSN Washington's J. Michael. 

"It was dangerous because I hit the back of the (stanchion). I got up," Beal said. "It was a kind of messed up play but it is what it is. I'm not going to haggle on it. We won. That's all that matters."

The Wizards defeated the Hawks 103-101 to take a 2-1 lead in the second-round series.

The team later announced that Teague had suffered a right ankle sprain. He was getting the ankle retaped and would return to the game.

(4/29/2015) Hawks guard Jeff Teague suffered a right ankle sprain in the third quarter of Wednesday's game against the Nets but will get retaped and return to the game, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Teague appeared to land on the foot of Nets center Jeff Teague and roll his ankle. He has scored 10 points on 4 of 9 shooting, including 2 of 5 shooting from 3-point range, in 20 minutes of action. Teague was replaced by Dennis Schroder as he was getting examined in the locker room.

(4/27/2015) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored 20 points on 7 of 16 shooting from the field, including 1 of 4 from 3-point range, in Atlanta's 120-115 overtime loss to the Nets, tying their first round playoff series at 2-2.

Teague also dished out 11 assists for just his second career double-double in the playoffs. He also pulled down four rebounds and added two steals to his totals.

(4/27/2015) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague is upset with how he and his team played in a 91-83 loss to the Nets in Game 3 Saturday, the New York Post reports.

"I hated our game [Saturday], I hated the way I played," Teague said after Hawks practice Sunday. "I think the whole team hated the way we played. To get back on the floor and be able to touch the ball today and get back on the floor [Monday] was good. I hate days off. I hate sitting around. We are still confident. We still think we can go into Game 4 and get a win."

The Hawks shot just 35.6 percent from the field, leading Teague to say, "We missed a lot of chippies."

Teague scored 12 points on 4 of 13 shooting while adding six assists, three rebounds and three steals in 30 minutes. The Hawks are 4-point favorites in Brooklyn Monday for Game 4 of the series.

(3/30/2015) After sitting the entire starting lineup for Saturday's contest, the Hawks will most likely be starting Jeff Teague and the other regular starters for Monday's game against the Bucks, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Along with Teague, the Hawks also rested forwards Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll, guard Kyle Korver and center Al Horford on Saturday. With the team also playing Tuesday at Detroit, the starters are expected to rest then.

Forwards Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll, guard Kyle Korver and center Al Horford will sit out Saturday's game in Charlotte.

Starting guard Jeff Teague is already out with a left ankle sprain.

It's expected that backups John Jenkins, Mike Muscala and Elton Brand will get the start tonight.

Teague missed Friday's game but was originally considered questionable for Saturday's contest at the Hornets. The team's official injury report listed him as out, however.

(3/27/2015) Hawks guard Jeff Teague, who hurt his ankle in Wednesday's game against the Magic, will not play Friday against the Heat, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Teague, who turned his left ankle on Wednesday, yet returned to score nine fourth-quarter points, decided he could not go as his ankle remained tender. Dennis Schroder will start in his place. 

"We will just wait and see how it goes and err on the side of caution," Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. 

Teague is averaging 16.3 points and 7.0 assists in 65 games this season.

Despite a brief injury scare, Teague shot the ball well and added six assists to his totals. Teague has now scored over 20 points in each of his last four games and is averaging 23.3 points and 7.3 assists. He and the Hawks will look to bounce back Monday against the Timberwolves.


NBA announces AS skills competition participants

(2/5/2015) On Thursday, the NBA announced the competitors for the Skills Challenge to be held Feb. 14 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as part of the festivities of All-Star Weekend.

Jazz guard and defending champion Trey Burke will be joined by Wizards guard John Wall, Bulls guard Jimmy Butler, Hawks guard Jeff Teague, Raptors guard Kyle Lowry, 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams, Bucks guard Brandon Knight and Suns guard Isaiah Thomas in the skills competition.
