Hawks will rest three starters in penultimate game

(4/14/2014) With the final spot in the Eastern Conference already clinched, the Hawks will give Paul Millsap, Kyle Korver and DeMarre Carroll a day of rest Monday against the Bobcats, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The team will trot out the following starting lineup for the penultimate game of the season: Jeff Teague, Lou Williams, Cartier Martin, Mike Scott and Pero Antic.

Jeff Teague drops 34 in overtime

(3/19/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague put together one of his best performances of the season Tuesday, in a 118-113 overtime win over the Raptors.

Teague scored the ball efficiently, dropping 34 points on 11 of 18 shooting, as he went 11 for 11 at the free-throw line. He also filled the box score up nicely, finishing with three rebounds, five assists and four steals, while turning the ball over just twice in 40 minutes.

Teague has struggled with his consistency for much of the season, but is still putting up the best numbers of his career. Teague is averaging 16.2 points and 7.0 assists per game on the season.

(3/16/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague recorded his 12 double-double of the season and first in over a month Saturday, in a 97-92 win over the Nuggets. 

Teague scored 15 points on 6 of 13 shooting, with one 3-pointer made. He also added six rebounds and 10 assists, though he also turned the ball over five times in 36 minutes.

Teague has been a bit up and down this season, but is playing well right now. In seven March games, he is averaging 15.4 points and 7.3 assists per game.

(3/2/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague enjoyed an efficient shooting night on Sunday, scoring 29 points on 14 of 21 from the floor, including 0 of 2 from downtown, and 1 of 3 from the free throw line in a 129-122 loss to the Suns on Sunday.

Teague also contributed with nine assists, six rebounds, one block and two steals while logging 31 minutes of game action. He is averaging 27.3 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds over his last five games.

(2/25/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague scored a team-high 26 points on 10 of 20 shooting, including 3 of 4 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 107-103 loss to the Bulls Tuesday.

It was the second straight big performance for Teague, who scored 28 points on Saturday, and he's managed back-to-back 25-point games or better just three times this season. He also talled seven assists and two rebounds in 35 minutes Tuesday. Teague has averaged 15.9 points and 7.0 assists over 53 games played.

(2/22/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague appeared to re-injure his ankle shortly after returning Saturday, but shook off the injury to put together one of his best games in months in a 107-98 win over the Knicks.

Teague came up limping after a drive in the first quarter, but came back to the game shortly. He ended up playing 37 minutes and put up 28 points on 7 of 12 shooting, including a 13 for 15 showing at the free-throw line. Teague also added six assists and three rebounds, while turning the ball over just once in the victory.

Following a hot start, Teague has been stuck in a slump for the last few months. Even after Saturday's game, he is averaging just 13.8 points and 6.0 assists in the month of February, while shooting just 41.9 percent from the field.

Teague scored 16 points on 6 of 16 shooting in 30 minutes before suffering the injury. While a timetable was not immediately available, the team will likely have an update in the postgame press conference.


Report: Knicks eyeing all point guard options

(2/17/2014) The Knicks, who are investigating all point guard options and haven't been able to find a deal for Kyle Lowry, have shifted their focus on Hawks point guard Jeff Teague, according to a report from ESPN on Monday.

Eager to shed Teague's long-term contract, the Hawks should be interested in acquiring Iman Shumpert in return, according to the report. Andre Miller, who has been away from the Nuggets since Jan. 30, also appears to be another option for New York.

Teague has appeared in 49 games this season, averaging 15.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 41.2 percent from the floor. Shumpert is averaging 7.0 points and 4.6 rebounds on 38.2 percent shooting through 50 games this season. Miller was averaging 5.9 points, 3.3 assists and 2.4 rebounds through 30 games.

Jeff Teague flops in loss to Grizzlies

(2/8/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague's slump only deepened Saturday, as he struggled to do much of anything against a tough Grizzlies defense in a 79-76 loss.

Teague played 31 minutes but failed to make any sort of impact. He shot 3 of 10 from the field for eight points, and had as many turnovers (four) as assists.

After getting off to such a strong start, Teague has slowed down considerably. He is averaging just 11.8 points per game over the last five, though he is also tossing in 8.0 assists to make up for that somewhat.

Teague scored 12 points on 3 of 10 shooting from the field, and a perfect 6 of 6 from the free throw line. He did all of his damage in 24 minutes of game action, also adding eight assists, one rebound and two steals. He has averaged 14.7 points, 3.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds over his last three games played.

(12/27/2013) Hawks guard Jeff Teague tossed up a huge line Thursday against the Cavs, and they needed every bit of it in a 127-125 double overtime win.

Teague scored 34 points in the game, including 3-pointer to send the game into a second overtime, and then a 20-footer at the end of the second overtime to win it. In all, he scored 12 points with three assists in overtime to help the Hawks to the win. 

Teague finished the game with 34 points on 14 of 24 shooting, establishing a new career-high. He came one assist short of his career high, finishing 14, though that also came with six turnovers in 49 minutes of action.

Teague has cooled off a bit since his hot start to the season, but is still averaging 15.9 points and 8.5 assists in 11 December games.

Teague suffered the injury in the second quarter and missed the final two minutes of the first half. He started the second quarter and finished the game with 15 points, five assists and three rebounds in 31 minutes. He went 5 of 18 shooting from the field in a 108-101 defeat.
