Jeff Teague leads Hawks to victory over the Bucks

(12/27/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague scored a game-high 25 points to help lead the Hawks to a 90-85 victory over the 76ers Saturday.

Teague shot 7 of 14 from the field including 1 of 4 from 3-point range. He was able to convert all 10 of his free-throw attempts. Teague also added eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal. It was the first time Teague scored 20 or more points in a game since Dec. 13 against the Magic.

The Hawks next play Tuesday against the Cavaliers.


Report: Hawks G Jeff Teague set to start again

(12/26/2014) What was anticipated now appears set - Hawks talented guard Jeff Teague is destined to return to the starting lineup for the Friday night game against visiting Milwaukee, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Teague came off the bench in favor of Dennis Schroder after returning from a hamstring injury, but that arrangement was not destined to continue. Teague is having a brilliant season in which he's averaging 16.5 points and 7.2 assists per game.

Teague has missed the last three games while dealing with a hamstring injury. Guard Dennis Schroder started in Teague’s place during Monday’s win over the Mavericks and scored 22 points and dished out six assists.

The Hawks are 1 1/2-point favorites over the Clippers.

Tegaue, who is averaging 16.8 points and 7.0 assists per game, injured his hamstring during the first half of Monday's gmae against the Bulls. He finished the game with 12 points, seven assists and three rebounds.

Teague went 8 for 18 shooting and also pulled down three rebounds. He also had three steals. 

The Hawks will look to bounce back Monday against the Bulls.

(11/26/2014) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored a team-high 24 points on 7 of 14 shooting, including 2 of 3 shooting from three-point range, while dishing out 12 assists in his team's 126-115 loss to the Raptors Wednesday.

Teague delivered his fourth-straight 20-point performance in the loss, but his double-double was just his second of the season. He also managed three rebounds and one steal in 34 minutes Wednesday. Teague takes a 25.8-point scoring average over his last four games into Friday's game against the Pelicans.

(11/21/2014) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored a season-high 28 points on 9 of 15 shooting, including 2 of 3 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 99-89 win over the Pistons Friday.

Teague hadn't shot 60 percent or better since the regular-season opener before doing so Friday in a game in which he also sank all eight of his free-throw attempts. He also tallied six assists, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 34 minutes in the multifaceted performance.

''Jeff Teague was very good,'' coach Mike Budenholzer said. ''A lot of people talk about his points and his offense, but I thought his defense was very good on the ball.''

The Hawks are set to face the Wizards Tuesday.

(11/1/2014) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague said Saturday that he has officially abandoned wearing corrective goggles, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Teague scored 20 points on 8 of 12 shooting in Wednesday's season-opening loss to the Raptors, adding eight assists and three rebounds in 32 minutes. He and the Hawks are set to square off with the Pacers Saturday.

(10/7/2014) Hawks point guard Jeff Teague wore his new corrective eyewear for just a few minutes during Monday's preseason game against the Pelicans. Although Teague chose not to stick with the sport goggles for long Monday, he hasn't abandoned wearing them, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"I’ve got to get used to them a little bit more," Teague said. "I couldn’t do. They were actually pretty clear it was just the comfort having never having anything on your face before. It was pretty different."

(9/30/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague will need to wear corrective lenses on the court for the first time in his career. He told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday that he'll test out prescription goggles during training camp.

"I prefer to wear the goggles," Teague said. "The goggles were pretty good today. We’ll see."

Teague averaged 16.5 points, 6.7 assists and 2.6 rebounds over 79 games.

(3/19/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague put together one of his best performances of the season Tuesday, in a 118-113 overtime win over the Raptors.

Teague scored the ball efficiently, dropping 34 points on 11 of 18 shooting, as he went 11 for 11 at the free-throw line. He also filled the box score up nicely, finishing with three rebounds, five assists and four steals, while turning the ball over just twice in 40 minutes.

Teague has struggled with his consistency for much of the season, but is still putting up the best numbers of his career. Teague is averaging 16.2 points and 7.0 assists per game on the season.

(3/16/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague recorded his 12 double-double of the season and first in over a month Saturday, in a 97-92 win over the Nuggets. 

Teague scored 15 points on 6 of 13 shooting, with one 3-pointer made. He also added six rebounds and 10 assists, though he also turned the ball over five times in 36 minutes.

Teague has been a bit up and down this season, but is playing well right now. In seven March games, he is averaging 15.4 points and 7.3 assists per game.

Teague also contributed with nine assists, six rebounds, one block and two steals while logging 31 minutes of game action. He is averaging 27.3 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds over his last five games.

It was the second straight big performance for Teague, who scored 28 points on Saturday, and he's managed back-to-back 25-point games or better just three times this season. He also talled seven assists and two rebounds in 35 minutes Tuesday. Teague has averaged 15.9 points and 7.0 assists over 53 games played.

(2/22/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague appeared to re-injure his ankle shortly after returning Saturday, but shook off the injury to put together one of his best games in months in a 107-98 win over the Knicks.

Teague came up limping after a drive in the first quarter, but came back to the game shortly. He ended up playing 37 minutes and put up 28 points on 7 of 12 shooting, including a 13 for 15 showing at the free-throw line. Teague also added six assists and three rebounds, while turning the ball over just once in the victory.

Following a hot start, Teague has been stuck in a slump for the last few months. Even after Saturday's game, he is averaging just 13.8 points and 6.0 assists in the month of February, while shooting just 41.9 percent from the field.
