News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois had surgery to repair the second metacarpal fracture on his left hand on Wednesday, reports the team's official site. Beaubois fractured his hand on Sunday against Oklahoma City. He is out for the rest of the season.
Analysis: Tough break for Beaubois as he had just started to work his way back into coach Rick Carlisle's rotation. Now he is likely out for the season and may have played his last game in a Maverick uniform as he will be a free agent this summer. The 25-year-old averaged just 4.1 points and 1.9 assists on the year and should be cut loose in all seasonal formats at this point.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois fractured the second metacarpel in his left hand during Sunday's contest against the Thunder and is out indefinitely the team announced. Beaubois was forced to leave the game in the second quarter and he finished with just one block prior to leaving the contest.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois turned in one of his better performances of the season during Friday's win over the Cavaliers. Beaubois finished with 18 points in the 96-86 win on 6 of 10 shooting from the field. He went 3 of 5 from downtown and also added five assists, three rebounds and one assist to his stat line, while logging 22 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Beaubois has not seen the floor much this season, but coach rick Carlisle appears to be shaking things up with Dallas fighting for its playoff lives. However, we aren't so sure this wasn't just a one-time deal as the 25-year-old as appeared in just three of the Mavericks' last 10 games. At this point in the season, owners should continue to ignore Beaubois in the majority of formats.
News: After not seeing the court in each of the previous three games, Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois came back in a big way on Friday against the Spurs. He scored a season-high 19 points in 16 minutes off the bench on 6-of-8 shooting. He went 2 for 3 from beyond the arc and made all five of his free throws. Beaubois also posted three rebounds, two assists and a block in the 113-107 loss.
Analysis: Beaubois has not had much of a role for Dallas this season but showed on Friday what he can do with minutes. Keep an eye on the situation going forward to see if the 24-year-old will receive more playing time. Until that happens, however, continue to ignore Beaubois in all but the deepest of Fantasy formats.
News: Maverick guard Roddy Beaubois was listed on the inactive list for Sunday's game against the Magic as a healthy scratch. Coach Rick Carlisle said Beaubois was inactive to get Dominique Jones on the active roster. Jones did not play in the 111-105 win.
Analysis: Beaubois did not see any playing time for the third straight game Sunday and has all but fallen out of the rotation in Dallas. He has proven in the past to be a decent option in Fantasy when seeing some run but leave the 24-year-old for the deepest of formats at this point.
News: Mavericks point guard Roddy Beaubois is not seeing much run and doesn't expect to going forward. The Mavericks brought in guard Mike James on a 10-day contract and James is likely to serve as backup point guard.
Analysis: Beaubois has been playing around 12 minutes per game over his last five contests and we expect that to continue. Over that span of minutes, Beaubois is averaging just 3.8 points and 1.8 assists and is shooting under 35 percent from the field. Beaubois has never really amounted to anything in terms of big Fantasy value. He has low-end Fantasy value in all leagues and formats.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois was not much of a factor in Wednesday's contest against the Heat. Beaubois logged just 13 minutes off the bench in the 119-109 overtime loss and finished with three points on 1 of 4 shooting from the field. His lone make did come from downtown and he also added one assist, block and rebound to his stat line.
Analysis: Beaubois just can't seem to get on the court as coach rick Carlisle thinks his lack of defensive prowess makes him too much of a liability on the court. The 24-year-old has logged a 47 minutes over his last four games and has only seen more than 10 minutes in two of those contests. Unless Beaubois starts to see an increase in playing time and production, he should remain on the waiver wire in the majority of formats.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois was back in action Friday night against the Nuggets after missing Thursday's game against the Thunder due to illness. Beaubois barely saw the court and made his only shot -- a 3-pointer midway through the second quarter -- in a 106-85 defeat.
Analysis: It's nice to see Beaubois back in action but he has hardly seen the court this season, averaging just over six minutes per game in December. He is averaging just 2.8 points and 1.7 assists per game this season and does not see the court enough to make any sort of impact. He has marginal Fantasy value for now.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois is not getting many minutes lately and it is due to the fact that coach Rick Carlisle isn't convinced he's healthy, reports the Dallas Morning News Monday. Beaubois played seven minutes Monday after not playing Saturday at Cleveland. Ive been really concerned about his health, to be completely frank about it, Carlisle said before the game. Hes wearing that big contraption on his ankle now and hes the kind of guy that if hes 5 percent off on his athleticism and quickness, its going to affect his game and its going to affect guys around him. Right now, were going to need him to play in some situations. But if hes not playing as much, weve encouraged him to spend more time on rehab and strengthening. Were building for the long haul here, not just one night.
Analysis: Beaubois was seen wearing a large brace on his ankle Monday and it appears Dallas is going to avoid using him until he can prove 100 percent. That has been a problem for him this year as he's already had to wear a splint on his left hand after dislocating a finger two weeks ago. Owner Mark Cuban had this to say about his situation: I still think hes favoring his ankle and his hand. I think he feels hes got to play no matter what, which is good, but I dont think hes 100 percent comfortable. Beaubois showed solid quickness Monday but Fantasy owners should be avoiding his use right now. When healthy, he has low-end Fantasy value in deeper formats.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois was able to play through an ankle injury Friday against the Knicks, after missing three games with the lingering issue. Beaubois played 13 minutes off the bench in a 104-94 loss. He contributed five points on 2 of 7 shooting, with three rebounds, an assist and a steal in the game, while turning the ball over once.
Analysis: Beaubois has dealt with ankle and foot injuries for much of his career, which has caused him to never live up to the potential many saw in him. Hopefully he can stay on the floor moving forward, as Beaubois can be a dynamic play maker, when healthy. At this point, he remains worth stashing in deeper Fantasy formats for his upside.
News: Mavericks guard Roddye Beaubois remained out for the third game in a row Wednesday against the Raptors, as he continues to deal with a sprained left ankle. He remains day to day.
Analysis: The injury is seemingly minor, but it seems to be lingering. Beaubois has been dealing with this specific injury since the preseason, and he has had ankle issues for years. Hopefully he can get back on the floor soon, as he remains a sleeper Fantasy option in deeper formats.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois was inactive for Monday's game against Portland. Beaubois continues to deal with an ankle injury. He worked out prior to Monday's game but decided he could not play. Beaubois is day to day with a sprained left ankle.
Analysis: Beaubois' injury appeared to be worse than it ended up being but he's still sitting out a few days later. He should return to the court in the coming games and is considered day to day for now. We will monitor his status in the coming days, but Beaubois is still more of a deep sleeper in most Fantasy formats.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois was unable to play Saturday against the Bobcats, after spraining his ankle in practice Friday. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: It sounds like Beaubois has avoided serious injury to that ankle and that is good news. He has a history of leg and ankle issues and the Mavericks certainly want to keep him healthy. We will monitor his status in the coming days, but Beaubois still more of a deep sleeper in most Fantasy formats.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois (left ankle) is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Charlotte, according to the team's official site. Beaubois screamed in pain when he injured his ankle in practice Friday and the injury was originally thought to be a serious one.
Analysis: It sounds like Beaubois has avoided serious injury to that left ankle and that is good news. He has a history of left leg and ankle issues and the Mavericks didn't want to lose him for an extended period. He may end up sitting Saturday, but at least he should return soon enough. When healthy, Beaubois has limited Fantasy value.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois had to leave practice on Friday due to an ankle injury, reports the team's official site. Reports are that Beaubois was "crying out in pain" and that he hurt his left ankle.
Analysis: Uh oh. This doesn't sound promising. Beaubois has a history of left leg and ankle issues and it sounds like this latest mishap could shelve him for a while. Fantasy owners will have to stay tuned to the latest and we'll give it to you when it comes in. For now, owners should cut or reserve him in all formats.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois began his season Tuesday night in L.A. with 17 minutes off the bench. Beaubois gave the Mavericks some solid minutes with 11 points on 4 of 8 shooting, including 1 of 2 from long range. Beaubois dished out five assists and picked up a steal for Dallas in the win over the Lakers.
Analysis: Beaubois has been a solid contributor off the bench for the Mavericks over the last few seasons when he's managed to stay healthy. That hasn't been often so he has something to prove. He could gain value in deeper Fantasy formats as the season wears on.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois was back on the court Saturday in preseason action against the Hawks. It was his first appearance since injuring his ankle in the teams first preseason game. Beabois played 17 minutes off the bench scoring three points on 1-of-5 shooting, with two rebounds and four assists.
Analysis: The Mavericks are hoping that Beaubois' long-awaited breakout will come this season, so it is good to see him put the injury behind him. Beaubois production has improved in each season, but they need to see more than just incremental improvement before handing him a full-time role. He is a decent sleeper option in most Fantasy formats, but should be left for the later rounds on Draft Day.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois was a full participant in practice for the first time Thursday since suffering an ankle injury last Saturday against Alba Berlin in a preseason game. Beaubois should be able to return to the court for the Mavericks preseason game Saturday.
Analysis: The Mavericks are hoping that Beaubois' long-awaited breakout will come this season, so hopefully he can put this lingering injury behind him. Beaubois production has improved in each season, but they need to see more than just incremental improvement before handing him a full-time role. He is a decent sleeper option in most Fantasy formats, but should be left for the later rounds on Draft Day.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois was forced to leave the team's first exhibition game against Alba Berlin Saturday, after suffering an ankle injury. The team was unable to give an indication of the severity of the injury. Coach Rick Carlisle told NBA.com that he expects to know more by the time the teams second exhibition game takes place Monday in Spain.
Analysis: Beaubois is expected to play a bigger role this season for the Mavericks, so an injury would certainly not be a good sign. We have been expecting a breakout from the former first-round pick for years, He has taken minor steps forward in terms of production each year in the league, however he has been unable to earn a full-time role. We will keep an eye on his injury, as he is a decent sleeper candidate for the season. Beaubois should be left for just the later rounds on Draft Day, if this injury does not prove to be serious.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois was back on the floor on Wednesday against the Rockets, after missing the team's previous two games with a calf injury. Beaubois played just 10 minutes in the game, scoring two points on 1 of 2 shooting, while grabbing four rebounds and an assist in the Mavs 117-110 win.
Analysis: Beaubois has had opportunities to produce this season, however he has not been a major contributor. He has been a solid backup who has started for stretches, however that has limited his Fantasy value to the lowest edges of starting caliber. Do not expect that to change down the stretch, as he is averaging 9.0 points and 2.8 assists per game for the season.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois was held out of Monday night's contest against the Jazz due to a calf injury. Beaubois has now missed two straight games with his ailment. He is being considered day to day with his injury.
Analysis: Beaubois was expected to be able and play Monday night, but his calf was still acting up. Fantasy owners in daily formats should keep an eye on his status moving forward to see when he will be able to get back on the court. However, Beaubois' inconsistent production and minutes make him merely a low-end option at this point in the season.
News: Mavericks guard Rodrigue Beaubois missed Sundays game against the Lakers, as he dealt with a right calf strain. He is expected back in the lineup on Monday against the Jazz.
Analysis: Beaubois has been finding minutes harder to come by recently, as Delonte West and Jason Kidd are both back to full health, so the Mavericks were not missing much. At this point, Beaubois does not receive enough playing time to be more than a low-end Fantasy option in most formats.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois earned a DNP-coach's decision during Friday night's contest against the Magic. It was the first time since Feb. 22 that Beaubois has not appeared in a game.
Analysis: With Delonte West now healthy, it appears coach Rick Carlisle is shorting his bench. However, nothing official has been announced by the Mavericks just yet, although the writing seems to be on the wall for Beaubois. Even if he does see some run moving forward, a healthy West is going to shrink his minutes considerably, shrinking the 24-year-old's already slim Fantasy value. We recommend leaving Beaubois on the bench heading into Week 15 (April 2-8).
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois contributed nicely off the bench on Tuesday night in a home win over Houston. Beaubois shot 5 of 9 from the field with a 3-pointer to score 14 points and lead the Dallas bench. He played 27 minutes and chipped in with five assists, three rebounds and a steal. Beaubois turned the ball over three times in the game.
Analysis: Beaubois has been wildly inconsistent over his last five games with three double-digit scoring efforts and two mediocre games. That said, he's contributing numbers across all categories in Fantasy, making his value in Rotisserie better than in Head-to-Head formats.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois continues to turn heads with his recent play. Over the pastg three games, Beaubois is averaging 16.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.6 steals, which has not gone unnoticed by coach Rick Carlisle. The guys have responded really well with him on the floor, Carlisle told the Fort Forth Star-Telegram. The challenge is to continue with it.
Analysis: Beaubois has never had a real problem scoring, but has a hard time earning consistent minutes because of his defense. However, the 24-year-old has proved more than capable with Delonte West and Shawn Marion sidelined by injuries. Beaubois should continue to see some extended run at least until West returns, so owners can consider him a viable low-end Fantasy option for the time being.
News: Dallas reserve guard Roddy Beaubois had a big game on Tuesday night in a win over Washington. Beaubois played 28 minutes off the bench and scored 19 points for the Mavericks in the win. He missed all three 3-pointers he attempted, but managed six rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block for Dallas. Beaubois shot 8 of 14 from the field overall.
Analysis: Beaubois has been picking up his game coming off the bench for the Mavericks of late. He's averaging 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals and a 3-pointer per night over his last five. Only owned in 29 percent of Fantasy leagues, Beaubois might start seeing more ownership in the deeper formats.
News: According to ESPN.com, Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said he put Vince Carter back in the starting lineup ahead of Roddy Beaubois because of a concern about Beaubois wearing down with a heavy workload, but primarily to get the regular starting lineup on the floor together. I wanted him to give us some energy off the bench, and I wanted to facilitate that group being together at least some," Carlisle said. "If we start him, it makes it more difficult to get to that group.
Analysis: Beaubois still has value even in a reserve role, but he won't be as valuable to Fantasy owners as he would if he was starting. The Mavericks have five games in Fantasy Week 11, so Beaubois has the chance to post a quality stat line. If you need a sleeper for this scoring period then give Beaubois a starting nod.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois got the start on Friday night and made the most of his opportunity. He scored a season-high 25 points in his 31 minutes of action. Beaubois shot 11 for 17 from the field, going 2 for 4 from downtown, and hit his lone foul shot. He added four steals, three assists and two rebounds for Dallas, but they would still lose the contest to New Orleans, 97-92.
Analysis: Beaubois started over Vince Carter to give the Mavs a different look, and it worked to an extent. Beaubois missed five games prior to the All-Star break due to the death of his father and he had showed some rust once he returned to the court. Over his last three games he's averaging 17.3 points, 2.7 assists and 2.3 boards. He's also shooting 48.8 percent from the field over that span. If he's going to stay in the starting lineup, Beaubois' Fantasy stock should rise, especially if he continues to play like he did on Friday. For now though, he is still a low-end guard option in the deepest of category-based formats.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois was back on the court on Tuesday night against New Jersey. He missed the previous five games due to the death of his father. He scored 11 points on a 3-for-10 shooting performance. Beaubois nailed all four of his foul shots in his 24 minutes of action. He added three boards, two assists and three steals, but it wouldn't be enough as the Mavericks lost to the Nets, 93-92.
Analysis: Beaubois had been averaging just 6.5 points in four games during the month of February. While he can go off and light it up off the bench for Dallas, his minutes aren't too consistent. Fantasy owners should track his minutes and production moving forward. For now he remains a low-end reserve guard in the deepest of Fantasy formats.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois was back at practice on Monday after missing the previous five games due to the death of his father. Beaubois is expected to be available for Tuesday night's contest against the Nets. "Hell be ready to go," coach Rick Carlisle told reporters.
Analysis: Beaubois has finally re-joined the team and is expected to play on Tuesday night against the Nets. However, the 23-year-old's role has been on the decline since guard Jason Kidd's return to the lineup and he is averaging just 6.5 points in four games during the month of February. Fantasy owners should consider Beaubois merely a reserve option in deeper formats until his minutes go back up.
News: Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said he does not expect guard Roddy Beaubois (personal) to return until after the All-Star break, which begins Thursday, according to the Dallas Morning News. Beaubois left the team's prior to Wednesday's game following the death of his father.
Analysis: Beaubois' role has been on the decline since guard Jason Kidd's return to the lineup and he is averaging just 6.5 points in four games during the month of February. The 23-year-old is still receiving 20-plus minutes a night, but his subpar totals in other categories will keep him from additional playing time. Fantasy owners should consider him a reserve option in deeper formats as he plays behind Dallas' aging stars.
News: Prior to Wednesday's game against Denver, Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle announced that G Roddy Beaubois was not with the team following the passing of his father.
Analysis: Beaubois had been inactive for the team's previous two games anyways, and has seen his role decline in a big way since Jason Kidd's return. While things could change with an injury to an aging backcourt in Dallas, only owners in the deepest of formats should be stashing him away at this point when he returns.
News: Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois did not play for the second straight contest on Monday night against the Clippers.
Analysis: Beaubois has seen his role reduced to basically nothing with the return of Jason Kidd and appears to be an afterthought in Fantasy at this point. While things could change with an injury to an aging backcourt in Dallas, only owners in the deepest of formats should be stashing him away at this point.
News: Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois had not been scoring much of late but he was able to get back on track in Wednesday's game against the Nuggets. He finished with 13 points in 20 minutes off the bench during the 105-95 win. He went 5 for 7 from the floor, including 2 for 3 from downtown, and made his lone free throw. Beaubois also posted three rebounds, two assists and a block in the victory.
Analysis: Beaubois had been playing extremely well in place of the injured Jason Kidd but he entered Wednesday having scored in single digits in each of his previous four games, including laying an egg on Saturday. Hopefully his performance against the Nuggets will get him back on track but owners should keep an eye on Kidd's status as well. Beaubois is worth using in deeper Fantasy formats while he is seeing some run, but it likely won't last for long.
News: Dallas PG Roddy Beaubois has played 36 minutes in back-to-back games with Jason Kidd missing time for the Mavericks. Kidd is out until at least Feb. 8 with a calf injury and that has opened up some playing time for Beaubois, who started against the Spurs on Sunday. Beaubois went 7 of 16 Sunday for 14 points. He added seven assists, three rebounds and three blocks, but went 0 for 3 from deep.
Analysis: Beaubois will likely continue to start with Kidd out a few more games and that means his Fantasy value is boosted nicely. He's been solid in the last two games without Kidd. Playing 36 minutes per night, Beaubois averaged 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.5 3-pointers and, incredibly, 3.5 blocks for the Mavs. Beaubois might just be one of the best shot-blocking guards in the NBA with minutes as he has at least three in three straight games. As long as Beaubois keeps getting minutes, he can be used in deeper Fantasy formats as a fill in for Kidd.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois started in place of the injured Delonte West on Friday night and did not disappoint his team. He scored a season-high 22 points in 36 minutes of action. "When they give you a good shot, you've got to be ready to shoot it," Beaubois said. "I'm just trying to be aggressive." He also logged seven assists, six rebounds, a steal and four blocks. "I thought he played the point position as well as he's ever played it," coach Rick Carlisle said. The Mavericks would go on to beat the Jazz, 116-101. Beaubois' previous season high was 17 points in a 94-91 victory at Utah on Jan. 19.
Analysis: Beaubois' career high is 40 points, so he still had a little ways to go to hit that on Friday. But the fact of the matter is he performed when called on and contributed across the board. With West dinged up and Jason Kidd getting injured, there is a chance Beaubois gets some more action moving forward. This is definitely something to keep an eye on as we all know he can score. He missed the majority of last year because of a foot injury and really hasn't been called on to do much this year. Fantasy owners should keep tabs on Beaubois as he could be a nice pickup in deeper leagues if he's given more playing time.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois scored a season-high 17 points off the bench on Thursday night against Utah. He shot 6 for 9 from the field, going 2 for 4 from beyond the 3-point arc. Beaubois also converted 3 of his 4 freebies at the charity stripe. The 6-foot-2-inch guard also came up with two big blocks for his team. Beaubois added two boards and two assists in his 18 minutes of court time. Dallas would hold on for the 94-91 win.
Analysis: Beaubois gives the Mavs a scoring boost off the bench and back up to veteran guards Jason Terry and Jason Kidd. Over the last four games, Beaubois is averaging 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest. He missed the majority of last year because of a foot injury, and may not be 100 percent healthy or confident with his game. But Beaubois has the potential to score in double figures every game, which makes him a low-end guard in the deepest of category-based Fantasy formats.
News: Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois had his best game of the season on Friday, scoring a season-high 15 points as the Mavericks won 102-76. The third-year player shot seven-of-12 from the field and one-of-three from three-point range to give the Mavericks a spark off the bench. He also added six rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes.
Analysis: Beaubois saw the most action of the season on Friday, and he did good work in his time. He missed the majority of last year because of a foot injury, and seems to have spent most of the year looking for his game still. While he has potential and gives Dallas a nice boost of the bench at times, Fantasy owners should continue to view Beaubois as a low-end guard option moving forward. If Jason Kidd continues to miss time, he could rise so keep an eye on that situation.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois had an awful night shooting the ball on Thursday in San Antonio, but managed to contribute in other ways. He had three of his teams' eight blocks in the game. He finished with just four points on an 1-for-8 shooting display as he missed all three of his attempts from beyond the arc. Beaubois did connect on both his foul shots though. Dallas ended up losing to San Antonio, 93-71. Beaubois saw 21 minutes off the bench as Jason Kidd left the game with a lower back injury. Beaubois also tallied a steal, an assist and grabbed five rebounds.
Analysis: Beaubois saw the most action of the season on Thursday but didn't do much with his court ime. He missed the majority of last year because of a foot injury, and still seems to be looking for his confidence. While he has potential and gives Dallas a nice boost of the bench at times, Fantasy owners should continue to view Beaubois as a low-end guard option moving forward. If Kidd is out an extended period of time though, Beaubois' stock would rise so keep an eye on that situation.
News: After scoring 10 points off then bench his last time out, Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois had another productive outing on Friday against the Raptors. He finished with seven points on 2 of 6 shooting in the 99-86 win. He went 1 for 3 from downtown and made both free throws while playing 17 minutes. Beaubois also chipped in with three steals, two rebounds and an assist in the victory.
Analysis: Beaubois provides the Mavs with a nice change-of-pace guard off the bench as he is very quick and knows how to get the ball to scorers. He has also improved his shot in recent years and should see more playing time as the season goes on. Keep an eye on his progress going forward but until he proves to me more valuable, continue to view Beaubois as a low-end Fantasy G.
News: Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois proved he has fully recovered from his foot injury in Sunday's preseason opener against the Thunder. Beabois poured in 17 points in the opener on 7 of 13 shooting from the field. He went 3 of 6 from downtown and also chipped in with three rebounds and an assist, while logging 26 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: The Mavericks are expecting Beaubois to contribute this season, especially after the team decided not to bring back J.J. Bear in the offseason. The 23-year-old has had to deal with injuries for much of his career, but appears to be fully healthy entering the season. However, he will likely only be in line for a handful of minutes a game, so owners can ignore him on Draft Day.
News: The Mavericks official team website reports that guard Rodrigue Beaubois underwent surgery Monday on his left foot to address lingering symptoms suffered last summer. Beaubois is expected to make a full recovery.
Analysis: Beaubois has minimal Fantasy value heading into the season, especially if the Mavericks are able to bring back free agent guard J.J. Barea. Dallas acquired guard Rudy Fernandez from Portland via trade, and Beaubois will likely be buried on the bench even when he's healthy. He's only worth drafting in dynasty and keeper leagues in 2011-12 since he could emerge as a viable option once Jason Kidd retires.
News: According to ESPN.com, the Mavericks will be counting on more from guard Roddy Beaubois in 2011-12 after he missed most of this past season due to a broken foot. The Mavericks hope that Beaubois will be Jason Kidd's backcourt running mate and eventual heir apparent. He did not play in the playoffs but averaged 8.4 points and 2.3 assists in 28 games during the regular season.
Analysis: In 2009-10, Beaubois had a breakout campaign as a rookie with 7.1 points and 1.3 assists in 56 games, but he failed to back it up after getting hurt. We hope he can perform better in 2011-12 when he will be given a chance for increased playing time. Our advice is to draft Beaubois with a late-round pick in standard leagues, and he's someone to target as a sleeper in keeper and dynasty formats since he could eventually replace Kidd as the starting point guard.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois was active but did not play on Thursday against Miami. He has yet to play in the NBA Finals and it doesn't look good that he will. He's been dealing with this left foot injury all year and hasn't logged a minute of playing time in this year's playoff run for the Mavericks.
Analysis: Dallas hasn't needed him yet, so it's unlikely they'll play him at all. The best option for the team will be to get Beaubois healthy for next year. Keep an eye on what happens the rest of the playoffs and this offseason. When healthy, Beaubois is a low-end Fantasy guard. Consider taking him in the later rounds on Draft Day this fall.
News: According to ESPN.com, Mavericks guard Rodrigue Beaubois is still limited for the start of the NBA Finals on Tuesday at Miami with a left foot injury. Beaubois has been active in the playoffs just once, Game 6 in the first round, and did not play. There's no reason believe he will be active over Corey Brewer, Brian Cardinal or Ian Mahinmi in the Finals. "Obviously, it was a tough season for me with all that," Beaubois said. "But, the goal for the team was to be here and we did it and now we really want to win it. I just try not to think about my situation and just enjoy it because this is where we wanted to be. Im happy. Everybodys happy. Everybody is going to give everything that they can to win a championship." He said his foot is not 100 percent, but he would be able to play if called upon.
Analysis: Beaubois has minimal Fantasy value even when active. He hopefully can return at 100 percent next season, but his role is undefined. Keep an eye on what happens the rest of the playoffs and this offseason, but Beaubois would only be worth drafting with a late-round pick in deeper leagues.
News: According to ESPN.com, Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois could still play a role in the postseason. But that remains to be seen with the Mavericks getting back to a full practice Wednesday as they wait for a Western Conference finals opponent. After returning from a broken left foot two games before the All-Star break, Beaubois struggled as a starter and was finally benched in the regular-season finale. He sprained his left foot in that game and that's the last we've seen of him. Beaubois was active for Game 6 in Portland, but that's it.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Beaubois and see if he's able to play again this postseason, but he still has minimal Fantasy value. Heading into 2011-12, Beaubois would not be worth drafting in the majority of leagues.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois, who started 26 of the Mavericks last 27 regular-season games, finally was active for a playoff game Thursday against the Blazers for Game 6. Still, he did not get on the floor in the win, as he was tagged with the coach's decision.
Analysis: Beaubois has dealt with a sprained foot that caused him to miss most of the postseason action. Head coach Rick Carlisle has talked about the guard being close to a return from a health standpoint, but apparently it wasn't enough to get him on the floor. Beaubois will have a few days to heal further before Monday's Game 1 against the Lakers in the conference semi-finals. When healthy, he is a low-end option in most formats.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois, who started 26 of the Mavericks last 27 regular-season games, was once again ruled inactive for Game 5 of Dallas' playoff series against the Trailblazers because of a sprained left foot. Hes getting a lot closer, but hes not there yet, head coach Rick Carlisle told the team's official website prior to tip-off.
Analysis: Beaubois injured the foot in the final regular-season game and has been stuck on the sideline ever since. However, it appears very close to being able to make his return to the court and should be available in the next round if the Mavericks can advance. Fantasy owners should monitor his health as he is a viable guard in most formats. Target him in the later rounds on Draft Day this fall.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois was inactive again for the Mavericks as he continues to sit with a foot injury. He hasn't played in this first-round series with Portland yet.
Analysis: Beaubois injured the foot in the final regular-season game and if Dallas can win the series without him the better they will be. Dallas would love to have him rest up for the first round in hopes they make it to Round 2. Fantasy owners should monitor his health as he is a viable guard in most formats. Target him in the later rounds on Draft Day this fall.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois was held out of Game 3 in Portland on Thursday as he continues to deal with a sprained left foot. "He's doing better, making progress," Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle told the Dallas Morning News. "But he's not there yet." Beaubois has yet to play in this series.
Analysis: Beaubois injured the foot in the final regular-season game and if Dallas can win the series without him the better they will be. If Beaubois can return later in the playoffs he'd be a huge spark plug off the bench. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor this situation though as a foot injury cost Beaubois most of the season. When healthy he is a viable guard option in deeper Fantasy leagues. Target him in the later rounds on Draft Day this fall.
News: The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois will likely be out for Game 3 of the first-round playoff series at Portland as he continues to recover from a sprained left foot. Its getting better every day, Beaubois said after the Mavericks shootaround at the Rose Garden on Thursday morning. Hopefully pretty soon Ill be back. I dont think tonight, but well see. If it is, itll be a decision right before the game. I can jump now. Its getting way better. Beaubois injured the foot in the final regular-season game and was not active for the first two games of the series.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Beaubois and see if he's able to play against Portland in Game 2, but he still has minimal Fantasy value even with a strong postseason. Heading into 2011-12, Beaubois would not be worth drafting in the majority of leagues.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois was inactive for Game 2 against Portland on Tuesday as he continues to deal with a foot injury. He's missed both games so far in the series with the Trail Blazers with this sprained left foot. He's being considered day-to-day by the team.
Analysis: This injury is troubling because Beaubois missed most of the regular season with a broken left foot. He saw action in just 28 games for the Mavericks, averaging 8.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest. Regardless of how much he plays this postseason, Fantasy owners will be more concerned how serious this foot injury is. If he's healthy this fall, owners should target him in the later rounds on Draft Day.
News: The Dallas Morning News reports that the Mavericks still have not listed the availability for guard Roddy Beaubois for Tuesday's Game 2 matchup of their first-round playoff series against Portland. When asked after the morning shootaround about Beaubois' availability for Game 2, coach Rick Carlisle said "we'll announce the lineups tonight." Even if Beaubois, who missed Game 1 with a sprained left foot, is available for Game 2, he doesn't figure to get much playing time.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Beaubois and see if he's able to play against Portland in Game 2, but he still has minimal Fantasy value even with a strong postseason. Heading into 2011-12, Beaubois would not be worth drafting in the majority of leagues.
News: After missing Game 1 against the Blazers Sunday with an ankle issue, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois got extended work done in practice Monday. Still, he may not be in line as the starter at shooting guard if healthy enough to play. DeShawn Stevenson may remain there for defensive purposes. "I like our big lineup," forward Dirk Nowitzki said. "Starting [Stevenson] gives us a bigger presence out there. He gives us a more physical presence. It puts Kidd back on the [point guard]. He doesn't have to chase [the two guards] around. It puts everybody in their normal positions. It was an obvious move."
Analysis: Beaubois missed most of the regular season dealing with a broken foot, and he showed some inconsistencies when he did return to the lineup. The Mavs still claimed victory in Game 1 against the Blazers without him, so he may not be used much if healthy enough to play. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the situation, though Beaubois is just a low-end option inmost formats moving forward.
News: According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois was ruled out for Saturday's contest against Portland. Hes not available, coach Rick Carlisle said. Beaubois suffered a left foot sprain on Wednesday in the team's season finale. X-rays were negative, bu the didn't return to that game. Beaubois said he's feeling better, but not yet ready to take the court.
Analysis: Beaubois missed most of the regular season with a broken foot, so he's in no rush to return. He's looking long-term and not at this series. While he's a spark plug off the bench for Dallas, he won't do them any good if he hurts himself more. When he's healthy, Beaubois is a low-end guard option. Owners will want to monitor his status during the playoffs to see how much this injury limits him.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois sustained a left foot sprain on Wednesday night against New Orleans. X-rays came back negative, but he did not return to the game after seeing five minutes of action. He shot 1 for 4 from the field -- missing his lone 3-point attempt. Beaubois added an assist to go with his two points. He's being considered day-to-day and is questionable for Game 1 in the first round of the playoffs.
Analysis: Beaubois missed most of the year with a broken foot, so this injury is troubling. In his 27 games for the Mavericks this year, Beaubois is averaging 8.7 points, 2.3 assists and 1.9 rebounds per contest, in around 18 minutes of action. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on this injury. When he's healthy and on the court, Beaubois is a low-end guard option.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois is shooting 31.7 percent from downtown this year -- in his limited action. He's played in just 16 games this season as he missed most of the year with a broken foot. Coach Rick Carlisle told The Dallas Morning News that he doesn't mind open 3-pointers, but he said Beaubois' best asset is not his touch from long range. "Anytime he can penetrate, it's a plus for us,'' Carlisle said of the second-year guard. "Open threes are good shots in our system. But I agree with Dirk that anytime we get Roddy using his quickness to penetrate and cause other problems (for the defense), that's a plus. I like his drive game to open up threes for the rest of our team. And I like him to take open threes in (advantageous) situations.'' Teammate Dirk Nowitzki said earlier in the week that he thinks Beaubois settles for the long ball sometimes.
Analysis: Beaubois has been cold from downtown lately going 3 for 15 over his last four games. Since he returned from his injury, Beaubois is averaging 10.2 points and 2.7 assists in about 20 minutes a game. Dallas will need him to produce in the playoffs, but for now his Fantasy value is limited. He's a spark plug, and has plenty of talent. For now owners should view Beaubois as a low-end guard option.
News: Dallas G Roddy Beaubois continues to work his way back from the broken foot that caused him to miss most of the season. Wednesday against the Warriors he scored a season-high 18 points as the starting point guard. Beaubois had arguably his best game since coming back one month ago, shooting 7 of 11 from the floor. He was also perfect from the line, sinking all three of his attempts while assisting on four baskets for the second straight game. Beaubois pulled down a pair of rebounds and recorded a career-high four steals on the defensive end.
Analysis: Beaubois saw 33 minutes of playing time in the win, 11 more than in any other game. Coach Rick Carlisle obviously has more trust in the 23-year-old in his 14th game back from the injury, letting him see traditional "starter's" minutes for the first time. The speedy Beaubois seems to be rounding into form now that he has a solid night's work under his belt. They key now is to see if he can sustain the solid play in Dallas' system without slowing down too much. Fantasy owners might want to take a closer look at the Frenchman in all formats, because he has the talent to put up nights like this on a consistent basis.
News: Dallas G Roddy Beaubois had his finest scoring performance of the year in Sunday's game against Memphis. He scored a season-high 15 points, with 12 coming in the opening minutes, during the 104-103 loss. He didn't even play the fourth quarter. He went 5 for 8 from the field, including 2 for 3 from downtown, and made 3 of 5 free-throw attempts. Beaubois, who played 15 minutes, also chipped in with two steals and an assist in the defeat.
Analysis: Beaubois scored in double figures for the second consecutive game on Sunday, the first time he has done so this season. He is averaging 8.2 points with 1.4 assists and 0.4 steals over the last five games, and is shooting nearly 45 percent from the floor over that span. He is still working his way back after breaking his foot in August, but Beaubois might be worth taking a look at in deeper Fantasy formats heading into Week 20 (March 7-13).
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Wednesday that he found how hard playing back-to-back games is after making his season debut last week. It was very tough, Beaubois said. I didnt realize it was going to be that tough, but I really felt it. That means I have to keep pushing myself and in a couple of games I think Im going to be ready. He scored 13 points, dished out six assists and had three steals in his debut last Wednesday. On Thursday he registered just nine points, two assists and one steal for the Mavericks. Back-to-back [games], coming off his first game in six or seven months, thats challenging, coach Rick Carlisle said. He only had so much in the tank and I thought he gave us what he could. With Barea back well be fine. The other night with Barea out we put Roddy in a very tough situation.
Analysis: Beaubois said he'll just need some time and keep working to get back to where he was last year. He didn't go anywhere during the All-Star break, instead opting to stay in Dallas to work on his game and cardio. Having Beaubois back is big for the Mavericks and could have an immediate impact in some deeper Fantasy leagues. He has some appeal because of his ability to score and is a good 3-point shooter. Owners may want to give him a few more games to get his legs under him before inserting him into those starting lineups. Consider him a low-end guard option in deeper leagues at this time.
News: Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois (foot) was cleared to make his season debut on Wednesday night against Sacramento and played well when all was said and done. Beaubois had yet to play this season after breaking his foot in August but returned for 21 minutes and scored in double digits. The speedy guard played some point for Dallas and went 6 of 13 from the field to score 13 points. He added six assists and three steals in the game and even hit a 3-pointer. "This night is a great feeling," said Beaubois, a native of the island of Guadeloupe. "I didn't have any expectations -- just to enjoy it because I've been waiting for it for a long time. I think I'm ready to go."
Analysis: Beaubois has to work on his conditioning and will have to earn his spot in the rotation once he does get all the way back. When that does happen, he has some mild appeal as a possible double-digit scorer for larger formats. He can offer some cheap 3-point shooting, but is still a few steps away from making an impact in Fantasy.
News: NBA.com reports that Mavericks PG Roddy Beaubois will return to action Wednesday vs. the Kings. Beaubois has yet to play this season after breaking his foot in August.
Analysis: While Beaubois has some mild appeal as a possible double-digit scorer for larger formats, it might take him a little bit to produce the kind of Fantasy numbers he's capable of. So, don't start him just yet in Fantasy, but keep an eye on the kind of stats he puts up in Dallas' two games before the break.
News: After Monday's practice, it seems more and more likely that the return of Roddy Beaubois for the Dallas Mavericks will come on Wednesday against the Kins, reports the Fort Worth Star Telegram. Coach Rick Carlisle spoke of the impending return after Monday's practice. Look, were all excited," Carlisle said. But we have another two days before we get to the altar with this."
Analysis: It sounds like the Mavericks are eagerly anticipating the Kings game as the return of Beaubois. That said, he can't suffer any setbacks before Wednesday and Carlisle had another quote Monday that was less encouraging. Hes doing well and the progress is ongoing," Carlisle said. Im encouraged. Im not sure of the timetable. Im not sure if its pre-All-Star break or after the All-Star break. But he had a good day today and if he has another good day tomorrow, its conceivable he could play." It still sounds like there is a chance the guard will miss more time. He can offer some cheap 3-point shooting, but is still clearly several steps away from making an impact in Fantasy. Even upon being activated by the Mavs, he should remain in a wait-and-see approach for Fantasy owners.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois participated in the Mavericks' shootaround Saturday morning, reports the team's official site. He will be inactive against Houston Saturday, however. He has not yet ruled out returning on Wednesday against the Kings. Its pretty good except if Im (running) in a straight line and have to cut, its kind of tough, Beaubois said to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Saturday. "Its getting better every day.
Analysis: Beaubois has had his season debut pushed back several times now, but this time it appears there is a real chance he could be back against Sacramento. He has to work on his conditioning and will have to earn his spot in the rotation once he does get back. Beaubois has some mild appeal as a possible double-digit scorer for larger formats. He can offer some cheap 3-point shooting, but is still clearly several steps away from making an impact in Fantasy.
News: The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois (foot) will not play during the team's three-game road trip through Sacramento, Denver and Houston. However, there is a possibility he could return on Feb. 16 at home against Sacramento. Beaubois went through his first full Mavericks practice of the season Tuesday. "At least I need a good week of practice," Beaubois said. "I cannot just jump from one-on-one positions to a game."
Analysis: Beaubois has had his season debut pushed back several times now, but this time it appears there is a real chance he could be back soon. He has to work on his conditioning and will have to earn his spot in the rotation once he does get back. Beaubois has some mild appeal as a possible double-digit scorer for larger formats. He can offer some cheap 3-point shooting, but is still clearly several steps away from making an impact in Fantasy.
News: The Dallas Morning News reports that Mavericks PG Roddy Beaubois (foot) went through his first full practice of the season on Tuesday. He will join the team in Houston, where the Mavs play Saturday night, but he might not be ready to play by then. "At least I need a good week of practice," Beaubois said. "I cannot just jump from one-on-one situation to a game. I have to play five-on-five, get used to playing with my teammates, then I'll come back. Definitely soon. I can't tell you when exactly because it was my first practice. I have to play a couple practices and see how it is."
Analysis: While Beaubois has some mild appeal as a possible double-digit scorer for larger formats, he has yet to play this season after breaking the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot last August while working out with the French national team. It might take him a little bit to produce the kind of Fantasy numbers he's capable of, so could be several steps away from making an impact in Fantasy.
News: According to the team's official website, Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois (foot) is getting closer to a return. Coach Rick Carlisle said Beaubois could be set to make his season debut sooner rather than later. I believe that [Beaubois] activity level is gonna be stepped up again. Hes gonna start doing some live stuff this week. So, thats another step in the right direction, but I dont have a timetable for you, Carlisle explained.
Analysis: Beaubois has had his return date pushed back several times already, so we would not get too excited about his return until we actually see him on the floor in uniform. Beaubois has some mild appeal as a possible double-digit scorer for larger formats. He can offer some cheap 3-point shooting, but is still clearly several steps away from making an impact in Fantasy.
News: The Dallas Morning News reports that Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois does not appear close to a return. Beaubois (left foot) has yet to play this season. "Roddy's doing better, but he's not there yet," coach Rick Carlisle said of Beaubois's impending return.
Analysis: Beaubois has minimal Fantasy value when healthy since the Mavericks are loaded at guard with Jason Kidd, Jason Terry and J.J. Barea. Ignore Beaubois in the majority of leagues when he returns.
News: Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said on Monday that Roddy Beaubois (foot) will not travel with the team on their three-game road trip that begins this week, according to the team's official website. Beaubois has yet to play this season.
Analysis: The report noted that Carlisle plans on Beaubois working on his conditioning in the next week. The hope is that he will be ready to "heighten" his work the following week. Beaubois has some mild appeal as a possible double-digit scorer for larger formats. He can offer some cheap 3-point shooting, but is still clearly several steps away from making an impact in Fantasy.
News: ESPN reports that, according to Mavs owner Mark Cuban, PG Roddy Beaubois has had some contact work during drills but still hasn't participated in a full practice or any scrimmage work. "We're increasing his workload every day," Cuban said. "That's a huge positive."
Analysis: The Mavs seemed to have righted the ship lately, winning four of five games after losing six straight earlier this month, so the need to rush Beaubois back isn't as pressing heading into February. The 22-year-old has yet to play in a game this season after averaging 7.1 points in 56 games last campaign, and remains only worth stashing away in deeper leagues.
News: The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the agent for Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois said Monday that his client is nearing a return. He said that that it could be a week or maybe two, but hes feeling much better.
Analysis: Coach Rick Carlisle said that Beaubois' next step will be to get into a full-contact practice. He has been able to run and cut on his own, but has not been taking part in full-contact sessions. There will not be a concrete timetable until that can happen.
News: Dallas PG Roddy Beaubois' return has been anticipated by teammates. Just Tuesday, Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki talked about how much the team needs his help, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Roddy can help us," Nowitzki said after Tuesdays practice. I always said his explosiveness, his ability to get in the paint and make stuff happen, were lacking a little right now." Nowitzki added, however: But I dont want to put too much pressure on the kid. Hes 22, and he probably only had a handful of good games last year. Its not like he had an unbelievable season, so lets just wait and let him get healthy and see what he can do."
Analysis: In one sentence Nowitzki talks about how much Beaubois is needed and downplays his ability in the next. Still, Dallas does desperately need a boost from somewhere and Beaubois has the ability to produce when he returns. Unfortunately for Dallas, it still remains a mystery when that will actually happen. Well just wait and see how hes feeling, Nowitzki said. Hes still a couple of weeks away is the way I look at it, so there is no help coming in the future." For now, keep him stashed. Beaubois could in line to play significant minutes once he returns with Caron Butler out for the season.
News: Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he is getting closer to a return from his left foot injury. I cannot give you a date, he said. But Im getting closer. Its feeling good and I can do more things now. Beaubois, who has yet to play in a game this season, has been running on the treadmill and moving more on the court. Beaubois averaged 7.1 points, 1.3 assists and 1.4 boards per contest last season.
Analysis: Beaubois broke his foot over the summer and has yet to play in a game this season. He has surgery over the summer but has still not been cleared to practice. While no official timetable has been given on his return, Beaubois increased activity of late, suggests he could be ready in days or weeks rather than months at this point. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his progress. Beaubois could in line to play significant minutes once he returns with Caron Butler out for the season.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois would provide the Mavericks with a much needed boost after losing Caron Butler for the season. But according to the team's official website, Beaubois is at least a month away from coming back. He has been cleared for jump shooting, but owner Mark Cuban said he doesn't wan to rush his second-year guard back. Beaubois broke his foot during the offseason and hasn't been cleared to practice yet. He suffered a setback in October, a setback Cuban said wasn't serious. Not at all, he said. Other teams probably had him playing already.
Analysis: Beaubois had surgery on his foot over the summer, and by Cuban's accounts the young guard would be active for another team. But the fact is he plays for Dallas and remains sidelined. He averaged 7.1 points, 1.3 assists and 1.4 boards per contest last season. With Butler out for the year, Beaubois will be a nice boost off the bench. Until he's deemed healthy enough to play, he's worth very little in Fantasy leagues. Only owners in the deepest of leagues -- that have room on their bench -- should stash Beaubois.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois won't be returning to action anytime soon, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Christmas. Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said he's looking forward to having Beaubois' broken left foot healed but that he's not ready to even think about him getting on a court. "Theres no timetable,'' Carlisle said after Friday's practice. "Were going to be very cautious about this and were going to be conservative with it, and when theres time to report something, well let everybody know.''
Analysis: Beaubois has not played since undergoing surgery on his fractured left foot over the summer and it seems he'll be out a while longer now. He averaged 13.4 points per game in 14 games last March, showing some signs of promise, but he is a player that can be left on the waiver wire until he can get back on the court and prove productive.
News: The Dallas Morning News reports that Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois will progress t the next step in his rehab this week. He will begin walking in an underwater treadmill. If that goes well, he may be cleared to do some light work on the court.
Analysis: Boy, his recovery sure seems to be taking a lot longer than anticipated. Given the fact that he is still a couple of steps away from being cleared for basketball activity, we don't expect him back until sometime in January. He averaged 13.4 points per game in 14 games last March, showing some signs of promise, but he is a player that can be left on the waiver wire until he can get back on the court and prove productive.
News: The Dallas Morning News reports that Roddy Beaubois (foot) is not going to begin working out with the Mavericks for at least another couple of weeks. He has been limited to shooting set shots and is riding the stationary bike, but is not yet allowed to do any type of running or jumping. He is scheduled to visit the doctor next week.
Analysis: Beaubois averaged 7.1 points and 1.3 assists in 56 appearances as a rookie last season. He averaged 13.4 points per game in 14 games last March, showing some signs of promise, but he is a player that can be left on the waiver wire until he can get back on the court and prove productive.
News: The Mavericks have assigned G Roddy Beaubois to the Texas Legends of the Developmental League, according to NBA.com. Owner Mark Cuban called it a marketing move. Beaubois, who is still recovering from surgery on his left foot in August, might still be weeks away from game action.
Analysis: Beaubois was looking like the team's starting shooting guard before getting hurt, so this demotion isn't a long-term thing. Still, Beaubois' recovery has been a slow one. You shouldn't be anxious to pick him up and stash him in Fantasy. He has upside, but he's still relatively unproven.
News: Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois, who had surgery on his left foot in August and has been without a protective boot since mid-November, "continues to make steady, gradual progress," coach Rick Carlisle told the Dallas Morning News. The team still has no timetable for his return, but DallasBasketball.com suggests he still has 3-4 weeks to go.
Analysis: The team has already pegged Beaubois as its starting shooting guard when he's ready to return, but right now, we don't have a clear picture when that'll be. The second-year player has good upside, but he has yet to translate it to big numbers. He's only worth stashing in deeper leagues.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois has removed the walking boot that has been on left foot for over three months, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Monday. Im glad because I was getting tired of it," he said. I still need to take my time and go slow, but its a good step for me."
Analysis: Beaubois is expected to begin his next stage in his rehab by doing the same things he's been doing, only without the cast. The Mavericks will continue to take it easy with Beaubois and will err on the side of caution. That means he's still a ways away from returning. Plus, once he does come back, he'll need some time to get back into rhythm. Because he's relatively unproven, Beaubois is only worth stashing in deeper leagues.
News: Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois, who had surgery on his left foot in August, is still in a protective boot and isn't doing anything that would put stress on the foot, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Analysis: Beaubois tried to test the foot last month, but he still felt soreness. Now, he says he won't return until he's 100 percent. He could push Jason Terry for the starting job when he returns, but the Mavericks still have no timetable for him. Because he's relatively unproven, Beaubois is only worth stashing in deeper leagues.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois didn't play in the Mavericks win over the Bobcats on Wednesday as he remains sidelined with a foot injury. According to FOX Sports Southwest, Beaubois could bump veteran Jason Terry back to the bench, but his return could be a week or two away still.
Analysis: Beaubois had surgery on his left foot in early August and is just not ready to return yet. Dallas will likely be extremely cautious with their young guard moving forward. When healthy, Beaubois should be viewed as a nice Fantasy reserve player with a mild upside.
News: Dallas PG Roddy Beaubois continues to don his protective walking boot and the Dallas Morning News wrote on Monday that he's more than likely going to miss the beginning of the regular season. The team currently does not have a timetable on his return but he's not going to play in the final two preseason games.
Analysis: Beaubois may not return for a couple weeks at this point as he's been recovering from left foot surgery he had in early August. Dallas will be cautious with his return and will not rush him back. Unfortunately for his Fantasy value, he's not going to compete with Jason Kidd and Jason Terry for playing time and would only really bring Fantasy value if one or both was injured.
News: Dallas G Roddy Beaubois is back in a walking boot Monday after experiencing swelling in his surgically repaired right foot over the weekend. Beaubois fractured the fifth metatarsal during the offseason, but had shown progress in his rehab and had been allowed to shed the boot about two weeks ago. Coach Rick Carlisle said the situation is only a minor setback, although he doesn't know if Beaubois will be ready for the regular-season opener on Oct. 27.
Analysis: Beaubois broke the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot while practicing with the French national team. He's going to be playing chicken with the regular season as he hopes to return shortly thereafter and not miss too much time. However, his playing time will be capped while Jason Kidd and Jason Terry remain healthy, making him no more than a Fantasy reserve or waiver wire option in most leagues.
News: ESPN reports that Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois broke the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot while practicing with the French national team. The injury could require surgery, which would sidelined him for approximately three months.
Analysis: That would keep Beaubois out for the beginning of the season. Beaubois proved at times last season that he could be a very solid Fantasy option when given significant playing time. However, his playing time will be capped while Jason Kidd and Jason Terry remain healthy, making no more than a Fantasy reserve or waiver wire option in most leagues.
News: The Dallas Morning News reports Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois will get a chance to play for the French national team that will compete in the FIBA World Championship in Turkey, which will be August 28 through September 12. With Spurs guard Tony Parker out, Beaubois has been asked to take his place. Among his teammates with NBA experience are Mickael Pietrus, Boris Diaw and Joakim Noah.
Analysis: Beaubois will enter 2010-11 as a reserve guard for the Mavericks behind Jason Kidd and Jason Terry. He played well last year when Terry (eye) was out, but Beaubois has minimal Fantasy value. Hopefully the experience overseas will help for next year, but Beaubois should only be drafted with a late-round pick in deep leagues.
News: Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois averaged just 7.0 points with 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in a six-game series loss to the Spurs in the first round of the NBA playoffs. His best game came in Game 6 when he scored 16 points with five rebounds and an assist in 21 minutes.
Analysis: Beaubois averaged just 10.3 minutes in the series and 12.5 minutes during the regular season. He had a great run in March when injuries forced him into significant playing time and showed that he could be a player counted on for big things in this league. However, we don't expect him to have that kind of a roll going into the upcoming season and he'll be just waiver wire fodder as a result.
News: Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois had a career-best 40 points in Saturday's 111-90 win over Golden State. "I felt great," Beaubois said. "I thought I couldn't miss so I kept shooting." Beaubois made 9 of 11 3-pointers, was 15 of 22 overall from the field, made his only free throw and had eight rebounds as Jason Kidd went 0 for 5 from the field and was held scoreless.
Analysis: Beaubois played just 48 seconds and went scoreless Wednesday night when the Dallas Mavericks lost to Portland. He had the hot hand against one of the worst defensive teams in recent memory and made the most of it. However, don't let this huge game lure you into starting him in a critical Fantasy scoring period with a title on the line. The fact remains that the rookie will see inconsistent playing time as long as Jason Kidd and Jason Terry are both healthy.
News: According to the Dallas Morning News, Mavericks G Jason Terry (eye) was able to practice Friday. He is hoping to play by the end of the team's four-game home stand, although he won't return for Saturday's game against the Knicks. The Mavericks play the Bulls on March 17 and the Celtics at home on March 20. Roddy Beaubois will continue to see a Fantasy boost in his absence.
Analysis: Terry was expected to miss 10-14 days after undergoing facial surgery on March 5 to repair a broken bone in his orbital socket. He could return for the team's game against the Bulls on Wednesday, but he remains too risky for weekly formats in Week 21 (March 15-21) with the Bulls slated for just two games and Terry's status likely not to be determined until Wednesday at the earliest. It does sound like you will be able to count on him for Week 22. Beaubois' Fantasy run is close to an end. In weekly formats, you will likely want to avoid him for Week 21 due to the uncertainty surrounding Terry's return and the fact it is a two-game scoring period.
News: Mavericks G Roddy Beaubois scored 24 points with five assists and five rebounds in Saturday's game at Chicago. Beaubois, a rookie, has now set or tied career highs in three straight games after scoring 22 the previous night against Sacramento and 17 against Minnesota on Wednesday. "He's a talent," said Jason Kidd. "He's going to be a special player in this league. He's a great student."
Analysis: Beaubois is one of the hottest pickups in Fantasy and for good reason. He is clearly the player to benefit most from Jason Terry's absence and will have the chance to put up these types of numbers for as long as Terry remains out. Terry underwent surgery on a fracture to his orbital bone Thursday. He was expected to miss 10-14 days.
News: According to ESPN Dallas, Mavericks G Jason Terry will undergo surgery on Friday to repair a broken orbital bone. He suffered the injury Wednesday night against Minnesota when he took an elbow to the face from Timberwolves F Corey Brewer. J.J. Barea and Rodrigue Beaubois should see a boost in minutes in his absence.
Analysis: The team will not have a timetable for his return until after the surgery. We expect an injury like this to sideline him at least a couple of weeks, if not longer, so Fantasy owners should be prepared to go without him. Both Brea and Beaubois make for nice stopgap options off the waiver wire in deeper leagues. Caron Butler and Shawn Marion may be asked to take on a bigger scoring role as well.
News: Dallas PG Roddy Beaubois scored 17 points on Wednesday against Minnesota with Jason Kidd getting a rest in the game. He shot 6 of 9 from the field and hit three 3-pointers. Beaubois added four dimes.
Analysis: Beaubois has the ability to play well but Kidd isn't hurt and these opportunities will come few and far between. He's really not worth adding in any Fantasy leagues despite this performance.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois recorded a career-high 17 points in 24 minutes off the bench on Friday night in a loss to Minnesota. The rookie shot 6 for 10 from the field and went 4 for 5 from long range. He added two assists, two steals and a rebound.
Analysis: Beaubois has only scored over 10 points in four games in his career thus far and isn't a consistent scoring or Fantasy threat in anything but the deepest of leagues right now.
News: Dallas guard Roddy Beaubois (back) was back in action on Wednesday after being limited to just one minute in his previous game. He saw 16 in a win over Golden State and scored eight points on 2 of 5 shooting with a three.
Analysis: Beaubois has some scoring potential but doesn't make much of an impact just yet for the Mavericks. He can be left on waivers in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Dallas G Roddy Beaubois fell hard to the floor while trying to stop a drive by Utah's Paul Millsap with 3:12 left in the first quarter on Monday. He was helped to the locker room and did not return because of a bruised back.
Analysis: Beaubois has some scoring potential but doesn't make much of an impact just yet for the Mavericks. He can be left on waivers in most Fantasy leagues.
News: Mavericks rookie G Rodrigue Beaubois got his first NBA start for the injured Quinton Ross (bruised lower back) Wednesday at New Orleans and scored the Mavericks' first nine points. He did not score again, however, playing only 14 minutes.
Analysis: Beaubois has some scoring potential, but the Mavericks already have an excellent scorer off the bench in Jason Terry. Even with Ross out, Beaubois probably won't get the time he needs to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers.
News: Mavericks rookie Rodrigue Beaubois scored 34 points with eight assists and five rebounds in his second game at the Las Vegas Summer League. He shot 7 for 12 from beyond the arc and 12 of 21 overall.
Analysis: Beaubois will play a backup role as a rookie and is not expected to have much Fantasy value, however, keep this performance in the back of your mind should injuries befall Jason Kidd and/or Jose Juan Barea this fall.
News: Mavericks point guard Rodrigue Beaubois is jumping right into the NBA. Beaubois, who has played professionally in France, took part in his first summer-league practice Tuesday and signed his rookie deal with the club.
Analysis: Beaubois actually was drafted by Oklahoma City, then was sent to Dallas for the No. 24 pick (B.J. Mullens) and a second-rounder. He has athletic ability but is considered a raw basketball talent. Whether he's ready to back up Jason Kidd and J.J. Barea remains to be seen, but Fantasy owners shouldn't consider him a target in drafts this fall.
News: The Thunder selected point guard Rodrigue Beaubois with the 25th pick in the NBA Draft Thursday. He was then traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
Analysis: Beaubois will play a backup role as a rookie and is not expected to have much Fantasy value. We don't recommend drafting him in Fantasy play.
