Claver gets back at it

News: Blazers guard Victor Claver was back on the floor as expected Wednesday against the Nets. He had missed the previous nine games due to an ankle injury. Claver scored two points in eight minutes in the game, with no other statistics accrued in a 111-93 loss.
Analysis: The Blazers are pretty much out of playoff contention, so it would be nice to see them give some of their rookies some playing time. That would include Claver, though even an increased role would be unlikely to make him an attractive Fantasy option. Claver is averaging just 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game on the season, and can be ignored in all Fantasy formats moving forward.

Claver expected to return

News: Trail Blazers Victor Claver is expected to return to the floor Wednesday against the Nets, after missing the team's previous nine games due to an ankle injury. Claver made it through practice Tuesday and shootaround Wednesday, and coach Terry Stotts expects him to be available off he bench.
Analysis: Claver is averaging just 2.9 points per game in his rookie season, and is not expected to see an increased role down the stretch. Even when healthy, he has very little Fantasy value moving forward.

Claver out a while

News: Trail Blazers guard Victor Claver missed his fourth straight game Saturday night against the Pistons as he continues to nurse a left ankle injury. Coach Terry Stotts told the team's official website that Claver would not accompany the team on its upcoming five-game road trip that starts Monday night in Philadelphia.
Analysis: Claver has not been much of a factor this season as he is averaging just 2.9 points over his 37 games this year. It sounds like he will be sidelined until at least the end of March, so Fantasy owners should continue to ignore the 24-year-old in all formats at this point in the year.

Claver makes it three straight

News: Trail Blazers guard Victor Claver missed his third game in a row Thursday against the Knicks, as he continues to deal with a left ankle injury. He remains day to day, but was unable to practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Claver was playing a bit more prior to suffering the injury last Friday, but it is now not clear when he will be able to return. Claver is averaging 5.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game over his previous five appearances, and should be considered just a low-end Fantasy option in deeper formats, when healthy.

Claver remains sidelined

News: Trail Blazers guard Victor Claver was ruled out for Tuesday's contest against the Grizzlies as he continues to nurse a sprained left ankle, according to the team's official website. Claver has now missed two straight games with his injury, but remains listed as day to day.
Analysis: Despite seeing a bit more run over the past week, Claver's production has remained minimal. He is averaging just 5.4 points and 4.0 rebounds over his past five games and doesn't have a firm hold on his current place in coach Terry Stouts' rotation. At this point in the season, Claver doesn't hold much value whether he is healthy or not.

He is averaging just 5.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game over that span. We will keep an eye on his health in he coming days, but Claver should continue to be ignored in the majority of Fantasy formats, even when healthy.

The rookie went 5 for 10 from the field, including 1 for 5 from downtown, while playing 36 minutes off the bench. Claver also chipped in with two assists, a steal and a block in the defeat.
Analysis: Claver entered Wednesday averaging just 2.2 points and two rebounds on the year and does not stand to see a ton of playing time going forward. Continue to ignore him in all Fantasy formats.

Claver puts up a bagel in return

News: Blazers forward Victor Claver returned to action Friday night against the Jazz after missing his previous game due to an illness. Claver missed both of his shot attempts as he finished scoreless with two rebounds while logging 17 minutes of game action in an 86-77 defeat.
Analysis: Even with Nicolas Batum a bit banged up with a wrist injury, Claver does not see the court enough to make any sort Fantasy impact. He has appeared in just 22 games this season and is not considered to be a worthwhile option moving forward.

Claver too ill to play

News: Blazers forward Victor Claver was ruled out for Tuesday's contest against the Mavericks due to an illness. He is being considered day to day with his ailment.
Analysis: Claver doesn't get a lot of playing time behind Nicolas Batum. He has appeared in just 21 games this season and has no Fantasy appeal when healthy.

Claver doing little

News: Trail Blazers forward Victor Claver played just 13 minutes Wednesday against the Raptors, as he continues to come off the bench in his rookie season. Claver scored two points in the game, on 1 of 2 shooting. He added a pair of rebounds and one turnover, in a 102-79 loss.
Analysis: Claver started a few games due to injury, but he has yet to make an impact in the NBA. In 15 games, Claver has yet to reach double figures in scoring, while averaging just 2.0 points per game. He has some potential upside, but the Blazers have yet to find out the best way to harness his ability. For now, he has little Fantasy value.

Claver returns to Trail Blazers

News: The Trail Blazers recalled forward Victor Claver from the NBA Development League on Sunday following a brief appearance at the minor level. Claver was sent to the Idaho Stampede last Saturday, the second time he was shipped to the lower level this season.
Analysis: Claver earned another promotion as Portland has been dealing with some injuries in its frontcourt, but he is not expected to receive an abundance of playing time. He posted 12 minutes in Sunday's game and netted three points. Consider him a low-end Fantasy option for now.

Claver sent to D-League

News: Portland assigned forward Victor Claver to the NBA D-League Friday. Claver has seen time in only six games this season for the Blazers.
Analysis: Claver has been an afterthought in all Fantasy formats this season. He's been back and forth from the D-League and that is likely to continue.

Blazers bring back Claver

News: The Trail Blazers recalled guard Will Barton and forward Victor Claver from the NBA Development League on Sunday following a brief appearance at the minor level. Claver was sent to the Idaho Stampede last Friday after appearing in just four games.
Analysis: With Portland nursing injuries to some of its starters recently, Claver will serve as depth on the bench for the team. He averaged less than 1.0 points and 1.0 rebounds during his previous run with the Blazers and should be left on waivers in all Fantasy formats.

Claver sent to D-League

News: The Trail Blazers sent forward Victor Claver to the NBA Development League the team announced Friday. Claver averaged few than one point and 1.0 rebound over four games this season.
Analysis: The Trail Blazers don't have any minutes for Claver right now, so the team sent him down to get some consistent playing time. The 24-year-old should be ignored in all formats while he down in the D-League.

Claver makes the jump to Portland

News: The Trail Blazers announced Wednesday that they have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with forward Victor Claver, a draft-and-stash prospect from the 2009 NBA Draft. Claver, who the Blazers selected with the 22nd pick in that 09 draft, has been playing for Pamesa Valencia of the Spanish ACB League since 2006-07.
Analysis: Claver averaged 8.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 25.3 minutes per game for Valencia during the regular season in 2011-12, while flashing a solid three-point shot that he connected on 36.4 percent of the time. He is still very young, and the Blazers are high on him so he should get some chances to produce, however he remains such an unknown that he is not worth targeting in any Fantasy leagues on Draft Day.

Claver selected by Trail Blazers

News: The Trail Blazers selected Spanish forward Victor Claver with the 22nd pick in Thursday's NBA Draft. Claver averaged 13.1 points and 5.4 rebounds last season for Pamesa Valencia of the Spanish ACB League.
Analysis: Claver is considered to be a long-term project and may not get any real playing time as a rookie. Fantasy owners should not consider him a viable option at this stage.
