(3/30/2014) Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan, who scored 30 points his last time out, shouldered the load again on Sunday, scoring 28 points in a 98-93 win over the Magic.

DeRozan shot 6 of 14 from the floor, including 1 of 2 from 3-point land, and 15 of 16 from the free throw line. He also chipped in with two rebounds, one assist and one steal while logging 38 minutes of game action. He is averaging 22.4 points, 3.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds over his last five games.

(3/19/2014) Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan snapped out of a mini scoring slump Tuesday, albeit in a 118-113 loss to the Hawks in overtime.

DeRozan scored 29 points in 45 minutes, while shooting 8 of 18 from the field. He did much of his damage from the free-throw line, going 13 of 14 at the charity stripe, while filling up the box score well with 10 rebounds and six assists in the loss.

DeRozan had failed to reach 20 points in three of the team's previous four games, and is averaging his lowest scoring total for a month since December. He is averaging 21.6 points per game in eight March games, while adding 4.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

DeRozan has now topped 30 points in four of his nine February games, and he successfully converted 10 of his 11 free throws while adding five rebounds and one assist in 42 minutes in the loss, which ended a four-game winning streak for Toronto. DeRozan has averaged 22.2 points and 4.5 rebounds over 53 games played.

DeRozan has three 30-point performances in six February games heading into the All-Star break, and he turned in his best shooting performance since Jan. 22 in Wednesday's win. He also kicked in five rebounds, three assists and two steals in 34 minutes of action. DeRozan has averaged 22.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists over 50 games played.

He led the way with 36 points on 9 of 21 from the floor, including 1 of 4, and 17 of 19 from the free throw line in his team's 118-105 loss to the Clippers in Los Angeles.

DeRozan has shot 10-plus free throws in a game for the 10th time this season. He also chipped in with eight assists, five rebounds, one block and two steals while logging 41 minutes of game action. He has averaged 26.4 points, 5.8 assists and 4.4 rebounds over his last five games played.

DeMar DeRozan explodes in second half

(2/2/2014) Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan played in the second half of a back-to-back set Saturday, and showed that he is fully over his ankle injury in a 106-103 loss to the Trail Blazers.

DeRozan looked to be on his way to a pedestrian game early, as he finished the first half with just eight points and two assists. He came on strong after halftime, eventually finishing the game with 36 points and 12 assists, both of which were team highs in 41 minutes of action. He shot 14 of 29 from the field and turned the ball over just three times as a comeback bid fell just short.

DeRozan has been playing some of the best ball of his career recently, even earning his first All-Star invitation. He is averaging 22.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, all of which are career-best marks.

Three injured Raptors available Friday

(1/31/2014) Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Nuggets, while forwards Amir Johnson and Patrick Patterson are both available to play as well, the team announced.

DeRozan is returning from a two-game absence caused by ankle issues. Johnson suffered a minor ankle injury Wednesday but will not miss any time. Patterson missed Wednesday's game while dealing with a broken nose.


Three injured Raptors practice Friday, remain gametime calls

(1/31/2014) Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan and forwards Patrick Patterson and Amir Johnson all took part in practice Friday but remain gametime decisions for Friday's game against Nuggets, Sportsnet reports.

DeRozan has missed two games due to a foot/ankle injury. Patterson missed the team's previous game while having work on his broken nose. Johnson suffered a minor ankle injury while putting up a double-double Wednesday. With all three active early Friday, it seems likely all will be avalable come game time.


NBA reveals All-Star reserves

(1/30/2014) The NBA announced the reserves for this year's All-Star game Thursday on TNT.

Hawks forward Paul Millsap, Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan and Wizards guard John Wall are among the new faces in the Eastern Conference roster, each making their first career appearance. They'll be joined by Heat forward Chris Bosh (9th), Pacers center Roy Hibbert (2nd), Nets guard Joe Johnson (7th) and Bulls center Joakim Noah (2nd).

In the Western Conference, the only newcomer announced was second-year guard Damian Lillard from the Trail Blazers. He will be joined by his fellow Portland teammate LaMarcus Aldridge (3rd), Rockets guard James Harden (2nd), Rockets center Dwight Howard (8th), Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki (12th), Spurs guard Tony Parker (6th) and Clippers guard Chris Paul (7th).

(1/29/2014) Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan will miss his second game in a row Wednesday against the Magic, but should be back in the lineup soon. Coach Dwane Casey told reporters DeRozan will travel to Denver with the team for the start of a 5-game road trip, though it is not yet clear when he will play through his sprained foot.

DeRozan is officially day to day moving forward. He had appeared in every game prior to suffering the injury to his foot and ankle in the loss.

DeRozan was diagnosed with a sprained left foot/ankle during Saturday's loss to the Clippers. He leads the team in scoring with 21.8 points per game on 42.8 percent shooting, including 30.8 percent from downtown. He's also averaging 4.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds over 43 games.

(1/25/2014) Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan was unable to return to the floor Saturday night, as he was diagnosed with a sprained left foot against the Clippers.

DeRozan landed awkwardly on the side of his foot in the second quarter, and was able to play through most of the quarter before heading to the locker room with 1:34 left in the first half.

DeRozan returned and played the first minute of the second half, but could not take the pain. He was forced back to the locker room and ruled out for the remainder of the game, the team announced. X-rays came back negative on his foot, according to the Toronto Sun.

DeRozan had 10 points on 2 of 5 shooting from the field, including 2 of 2 from downtown, and 4 of 4 from the free throw line. He also chipped in with three assists and two rebounds while logging 19 minutes of game action before getting hurt. His status remains up in the air for Monday's game at Brooklyn.

It was the seventh 40-point performance in franchise history, and it came on a night where DeRozan's teammates made just 17 of 54 shots and scored 53 points. His previous career-high scoring mark had been 37 points, which he accomplished three times.

DeRozan also collected three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 38 mintues Wednesday. He has averaged 21.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in 41 games played.
