by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(3/24/2015) With Rockets center Dwight Howard possibly returning in Wednesday's game, guard James Harden said he plans to remain aggressive, reports USA Today.

Harden said he spoke with Howard, who told Harden to keep playing the way he has all season, which Harden said he appreciated.

"I definitely needed to hear that, and he told it to me," Harden said. "So right there that gave me all the confidence in the world, not to try to force it to get him into a rhythm or try to do anything forceful. I can just play my game. Him telling me that just gave me the green light to just go out there and just be the James Harden that I've been being all season."

In 69 games, Harden is averaging 27.2 points and is considered a candidate for MVP.

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com

"He was just solid. He's a hell of a player," Rockets coach Kevin McHale said. "We don't have our record if James isn't playing at an MVP level, which he's doing. I say it every year, two or three guys play at extraordinary levels, and he's one of them right now."

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3/19/2015) Rockets shooting guard James Harden scored a career-high 50 points on 12 of 27 shooting from the field and 22 of 25 shooting from the free-throw line in his team's 118-108 win over the Nuggets Thursday.

Harden had scored at least 40 points 11 times in his career, including six times this season, but Thursday's gem was his first time topping 46 points. His 22 free throws and 25 attempts both match career highs, though he was just 2 for 9 from the field in that Dec. 2013 game.

"It's really hard to get 50 points in a game and is not something many people can do," coach Kevin McHale said after the win, per the Associated Press. "I was just one of those nights where he had good energy and he was driving hard."

Harden also racked up 10 rebounds, four assists and one steal in 40 minutes in the win, his team's third straight. The Rockets will look to keep rolling Saturday against the Suns.

"I put up special work after practice to make sure I get some energy, get some work in. We have to be ready to go."
