by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(5/28/2015) Rockets guard James Harden committed an NBA playoffs record 13 turnovers in Wednesday night's 104-90 loss to the Warriors in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals.

The loss eliminated the Rockets from the postseason and advanced the Warriors to the NBA finals.

"Unacceptable," Harden said, via NBA.com.

Harden, who was brilliant in a 45-point effort in Game 4, struggled throughout Wednesday's elimination game. He scored 14 points but only went 2-of-11 shooting from the field. He made 10 of 11 free throws and missed all three of his three-point attempts.

Even with the odds stacked against them, the Rockets don't plan on backing down in Game 5. Guard James Harden, who scored 45 points in Game 4, said his team will be up for the challenge once again Wednesday night.

“We just don’t quit,” Harden said, via the Houston Chronicle. “No matter how down we look, we just don’t ever give up. It’s another case tonight where we have to win a tough one on the road. We have to be locked in.”

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5/21/2015) Rockets guard James Harden scored a team-high 38 points on 13 of 21 shooting, including 3 of 6 shooting from behind the arc, but it wasn't enough to avoid a 99-98 loss to the Warriors in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday.

Harden was magnificient for much of the night, but after the Rockets managed to force a missed shot with less than 10 seconds on the clock, they elected not to take their final timeout, racing down the court to try and take advantage of numbers. Harden found himself in a double-team and passed the ball away, but it was sent right back to him and he was unable to get a potential game-winning shot off before turning the ball over.

Harden also added 10 rebounds, nine assists, three steals and one block in the near triple-double. The Rockets head into Game 3 in Houston on Saturday down 2-0 in the series.

Rockets G James Harden on benching: 'I was a cheerleader'

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(5/15/2015) For a runner-up in the MVP voting, Rockets guard James Harden apparently doesn't have a huge ego. He is at least claiming to be fine with sitting out the fourth quarter while his teammates staged one of the greatest comebacks in playoff history.

The Rockets returned from apparent oblivion Thursday night to overtake the host Clippers in Game 6 and force a deciding game in Houston. Most shocking was that they did it with Harden on the bench.

"Amazing. It was really amazing," Harden told the Houston Chronicle. "Just really proud of those guys in the fourth quarter, man, to keep fighting, keep battling. They did a tremendous job on both ends of the floor, battling, holding that team to 15 points. Being down 13, ... those guys kept battling and it was an amazing job.

"I was a cheerleader. I was one of their biggest supporters. I was so excited for those guys. The energy they brought was unbelievable. I could have checked back in, but those guys had it rolling on both ends of the floor."

Harden scored 17 points in the second quarter to help the Rockets forge a six-point lead, but made just 1-of-7 shots in the second half. He finished with 23 points on 5-of-20 shooting.
