(12/14/2014) Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday scored 30 points on 12 of 23 shooting, including 2 of 4 shooting from behind the arc, in his team's 128-122 overtime loss to the Warriors Sunday.

Holiday made it to 30 points for the second time in his last three games Sunday, and nearly managed a double-double like he had in his other 30-point effort, recording nine assists in addition to a season-high five steals, three rebounds and one block in 45 minutes. He'll square off with the Jazz Tuesday.

(12/10/2014) Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday scored a season-high 30 points on 12 of 22 shooting, including 5 of 8 shooting from three-point range, while dishing out 10 assists in his team's 112-107 loss to the Mavericks Wednesday.

Holiday had topped 20 points just once in his previous six games before exploding offensively Wednesday, hitting a season-high five three-pointers after entering the game with just four makes on 14 attempts this month. He also managed three steals and one rebound in 35 minutes. Holiday will take on the Cavaliers Friday.

(12/7/2014) Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday scored 22 points on 9 of 17 shooting, including 4 of 5 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 104-87 win over the Lakers Sunday.

Holiday's 22-point performance represented his highest scoring total since Nov. 14, and the four made three-pointers were a new season high. He also racked up eight assists, four rebounds and one block in 35 minutes Sunday. The Pelicans move forward to face the Knicks Tuesday.


Pelicans' Jrue Holiday scores 17 in loss to Wizards

(11/29/2014) Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday scored 17 points on 7 of 18 from the field in Saturday's 83-80 loss to the Wizards. 

Holiday said after the game that "We just need to make shots. We've been playing some good defense the last two games. We've got to knock some shots down," according to Jim Eichenhofer of Pelicans.com. 

New Orleans shot 37 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from 3-point range. They are shooting 45.4 percent from the field so far this season. 


Pelicans list Tyreke Evans, Jrue Holiday as probable

(11/4/2014) The Pelicans listed swingman Tyreke Evans and point guard Jrue Holiday as probable for Tuesday's game against the Hornets. Evans is dealing with a hamstring injury, while Holiday has a stress fracture in his leg and a cut on his eye.

Evans averages 18.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists. Holiday chips in 14.0 points, 5.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game.

(10/28/2014) Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday is getting stitches above his right eye after a collision in Tuesday's regular-season opener, but he's probable to return to the game, Pelicans.com reports.

Holiday collided with Magic rookie point guard Elfrid Payton and headed to the locker room to assess the damage. He scored six points on 3 of 9 shooting and tallied three assists, two rebounds, one stael and one block in 23 minutes before exiting.


Tyreke Evans will be at small forward in Pelicans starting lineup

(10/28/2014) Pelicans coach Monty Williams told reporters Monday guard Tyreke Evans will start at small forward in Tuesday's season opener against the Magic. Though, it comes as little surprise since Evans started the final two preseason games at small forward, according to the team's official website.

The rest of the starting lineup will be Jrue Holiday at point guard, Eric Gordon at shooting guard, Anthony Davis at power forward and Omer Asik at center.

(10/28/2014) While Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday will play in Tuesday's season opener against the Magic, he admits he is not 100 percent going into the contest. It will be his first regular season game since undergoing surgery in January to fix a stress fracture in his leg.

"I’m maybe 80 percent," he said, per the team's official website. "I think I’m to the point where I can play and I can play hard, and I can give you some good minutes."


Eric Gordon, Jrue Holiday both get the start for Pelicans in preseason opener

(10/5/2014) Pelicans guards Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday both got the start in Saturday's preseason opener against the Heat in Louisville.

Gordon made his first game appearance since having season-ending knee surgery last April. He was limited to 10 minutes of game action, scoring four points -- all on free throws -- while missing all four of his shot attempts, including two from downtown. He added two assists and one rebound.

Holliday, who had season-ending surgery to repair the stress fracture in his right tibia last January, also played 10 minutes but held scoreless on 0 of 2 shooting in his first game back. He chipped in with two rebounds in a 98-86 victory.


Pelicans being 'smart' with Jrue Holiday's practice time

(10/1/2014) The Pelicans are being cautious with point guard Jrue Holiday, limiting his practice time as he returns from surgery to repair a stress fracture in his tibia, The Times-Picayune reports.

"We are trying to be smart with his comeback," coach Monty Williams said. "After about two weeks of this, it's time to ramp it up and get going."

Holiday said he came out of Tuesday's and Wednesday's practices feeling good if a bit sore. "I'm sore," Holiday said. "Again I don't think I have pushed my body this much for a long time. It's good. All of our trainers and Monty had to kick me off the court yesterday because I didn't want to stop. But I am glad he did because I am feeling it today. Again that's a part of me still learning how to take care of my body and come back strong these next days."

Holiday didn't play a game after Jan. 8 last season and ultimately underwent surgery in February. He averaged 14.3 points, 7.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 34 games.


Pelicans G Jrue Holiday will be limited during training camp

(9/29/2014) Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday told reporters he is still not fully healthy and will be limited in training camp, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Holiday season-ending surgery to repair the stress fracture in his right tibia last January. He told the paper his leg is at about 70-to-75 percent.

"Coach and I have talked about how it is going to go," Holiday said. "It's going to go a lot slower than what it usually would be if I were healthy."

"Getting out playing has been a joy," Holiday told The Times-Picayune. "I've been running and jumping and stuff, but getting my rhythm back on the court is definitely a big thing right now for me."

The Pelicans open training camp Sept. 30, and Holiday is not expected to have any limitations as the team prepares for the start of the season. Holiday averaged 14.3 points, 7.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game last season prior to the injury.

Holiday was sidelined since Jan. 8 with the injury, and was unable to return to practice. He played just 34 games for the Pelicans this season, averaging 14.3 points, 7.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game in 33.6 minutes.

Holiday was diagnosed with the injury on Friday and was ruled out indefinitely with the injury. In 34 games, Holiday has averaged 14.3 points, 7.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds on 44.7 percent shooting from the field and 39.0 percent from beyond the arc this season.

Holiday scored 20 points on 8 of 13 shooting, and matched a season-high with 13 assists and just one turnover. He also approached a triple-double with seven rebounds, and added one block and three steals to fill the box score in his 41 minutes of action.

Holiday had an adjustment period in his first few weeks with the Pelicans, but he has found his footing recently. Holiday has scored in double figures in seven straight games, while shooting 51.6 percent from the field and averaging 15.9 points and 8.6 assists per game.

Holiday went 5 of 10 shooting from the field, including 1 of 1 from downtown, and 4 of 5 from three free throw line. His lone 3-pointer came from the top of the key late in the final quarter. He finished the game with 15 points, 11 assists and three rebounds in a 104-100 victory. He also chipped in with three steals and one block while logging 38 minutes of game action.

Holiday is averaging 13.8 points 7.6 assists and 3.8 rebounds over his last five games played.

Jrue Holiday delivers double-double vs. 76ers

(10/30/2013) The backcourt of Jrue Holiday and Eric Gordon was very good on Wednesday in a season-opening home loss to Indiana. Despite the loss, Gordon and Holiday shined together for the New Orleans Pelicans.

The point guard Holiday played 36 minutes and shot 8 of 18 from the field with two 3-pointers to score 24 points. He was 6 of 6 from the line as he grabbed seven rebounds and added five assists. He also had a steal.

Gordon, the shooting guard of the Pelicans, went 8 for 19 from the field with three 3-pointers to score a team-high 25 points. He was 6 of 9 from the line and added three rebounds, two steals and an assist. Together, Gordon and Holiday had just three turnovers.
