Holiday looking to improve jumper

News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday told the Philadelphia Inquirer that he wants to work on improving his mid-range game over the summer. Holiday, who posted career highs in points (17.7), assists (8.0), rebounds (4.2) and minutes (37.5) this past season, shot just 43.1 percent from the field 36 percent from downtown. "You can always improve, especially midrange," he said. "I don't think my three-point shot was that consistent, not like I wanted it to be. I feel like just playing a lot more, even in pickup, I have to stop turning the ball over and getting a better feel and stuff like that. I need to get a better overall feel for the game."
Analysis: Holiday turned in his most productive season to date last year as he clearly established himself as one of the top Fantasy guards in the league. The 22-year-old averaged a career-best 37.6 Fantasy points per week in all standard formats, which ranked sixth among all guards behind Kobe Bryant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Stephen Curry and Chris Paul. However, Holiday did admit his wore down towards the end of the season and his numbers reflected as much as he 12.8 points and 4.7 assists over his last 10 games. Still, Holiday's game is still evolving and many feel his best days are still ahead of him. While the 76ers may struggle to win games next year, Holiday should be off the board by the time most drafts hit the middle rounds.

Holiday hits a new low

News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday suffered through the worst shooting game of his career Wednesday, in a loss to the Bobcats. Holiday attempted 24 shots in the game and made just two of them, the first time in his career he has attempted at least 20 shots and not made at least five. He finished the game with just five points in 37 minutes, his second lowest scoring total of the season. Holiday did add six rebounds, eight assists and three steals to his line, in an 88-83 loss.
Analysis: Holiday has been in a major slump since making his first All-Star game, as he is shooting just 39.7 percent from the field over the last 23 games. He is still putting up 16.5 points and 7.7 assists per game in that span, but he has not lived up to the lofty expectations set by his first half. Despite the struggles, the Sixers lean on Holiday heavily, so he remains a worthwhile starting Fantasy option.

Holiday struggling with shot

News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday had another poor shooting performance Wednesday against the Bucks, a recurring theme in the month of March. Holiday shot just 6 of 17 from the field, however he added two 3-pointers and was 4 of 4 at the free-throw line to wind up with 18 points. He added six assists and four rebounds, while turning the ball over six times in 37 minutes, in a 100-92 win.
Analysis: Holiday is shooting just 39.2 percent from the field in the month of March, but is still putting up 16.1 points per game, largely thanks to a season-best 43.4 percent mark on 3-pointers. He has already hit a season-high 23 threes in the month. Holiday is adding 8.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game in the month, so Fantasy owners cannot complain too much about a dip in his shooting. At this point in the season, he remains a high-end Fantasy option in all formats down the stretch.

Holiday struggling with his shot

News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday entered Sunday's contest against the Magic shooting just 34 percent in his previous five games. His shooting woes continued as he finished with eight points and eight assists in the 99-91 loss. He went 4 for 16 from the floor, missing his lone attempt from downtown, and missed both of his free throws as well. Holiday also posted five rebounds, three steals and two blocks while playing 39 minutes.
Analysis: Holiday has failed to score in double figures in back-to-back games but continues to do a solid job of filling up the stat sheet. He entered Sunday averaging 9.6 assists with 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 steals in the previous five contests. The 22-year-old should snap out of his shooting slump sooner rather than later and remains a solid option in the majority of Fantasy formats heading into Week 20 (March 11-17).

Holiday fills up stat sheet in loss

News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday endured a tough shooting performance but managed to pick up his 15th double-double of the season Tuesday night against the Celtics. Holiday went 6 of 17 shooting from the field, including 0 of 3 from downtown, and a perfect 6 of 6 from the free throw line. He finished with 18 points, 10 assists and five rebounds in a 101-109 defeat. He also chipped in with four steals while logging 42 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Holiday picked up his first double-double since Feb. 13 against the Bucks and has averaged 19.6 points, 6.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds in his last eight games since his last double-double. He has had a hard time finding his shot lately, as he is shooting just 27.8 percent from the field and 20.0 percent from beyond the arc in the last three games. Still, the 22-year-old is enjoying a career campaign and should be able to snap out of this mini funk soon. Consider him a solid option in all Fantasy formats moving forward.

The UCLA product is averaging 19.0 points, 8.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game this season. All-Star Holiday shining bright

News: The praise hasn't stopped since the start of All-Star festivities for 76ers guard Jrue Holiday. Opponents and teammates alike continue to rave about the 22-year-old's transformation from bench player to standout playing in his first All-Star game. "I like him. No, I love Jrue's game," Clippers guard Chris Paul told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "Me and Chauncey Billups actually talk about him all the time. We always talk about the young point guards in the league. I think a lot of times he actually gets overlooked."
Analysis: Holiday has ascended the ranks of the league's top guards during his breakout season and is posting 19.0 points and 8.9 assists per game. No other point guard in the NBA is averaging more assists while chipping in at least 19 points a night. The UCLA product has also improved in other areas, generating a career-high 4.2 rebounds per game and has notched 14 double-doubles in 47 games, just four shy of his career total entering the season. Fantasy owners should continue to roll with him in all formats as he has become a must-start option.

Sizzling Holiday firing away

News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday had 20 points and seven assists during Philadelphia's 87-76 win over Charlotte on Saturday night. Holiday connected on 10 of his 23 attempts from the field but missed all three shots from downtown as he reached 20 points for the third time in the past five games. However, he failed to attempt a free throw, but added three rebounds while logging 39 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Holiday has served as the 76ers' primary offensive threat throughout the season and that continued Saturday as he fired a game-high 23 shots -- the third occasion he has hoisted 20-plus attempts over the past five games. During that span, he has netted 18.8 points while maintaining his solid assist totals (7.6 apg). Fantasy owners should keep him locked in all lineups as he remains a high-end option at this point.

Holiday keeping others involved

News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday notched his 14th double-double of the season during Monday's win over the Magic on Monday night. Holiday finished with 13 points and 14 assists in the 79-61 victory -- which is the 15th time this season he has posted a double-digit assist total. He made six of his 15 field-goal attempts and also added four rebounds and one steal to his stat line, while logging 41 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Holiday continues to put up career numbers for the 76ers as he clearly has taken his game to a whole new level. The 22-year-old is averaging a career-best 19.4 points, 8.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds thus far, while knocking down 46 percent of his shots. Many feel Holiday hasn't even come close to reaching his ceiling yet, but he has already more than developed into a must-start option this season. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as a such in all formats moving forward.

Holiday keeps filling it up

Holiday dished out six assists in the performance and added four steals. He did turn the ball over six times, however.
Analysis: Holiday has remained consistent with his scoring average and is going to stay right around 20 points per game for the Sixers. He also brings in around nine assists and over a 3-pointer and steal per game. The 22-year-old guard still has growing to do in the NBA, but he's already a must-start Fantasy point guard.

All-Star Holiday shines bright

News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday netted a career-high 35 points and had six assists during Philadelphia's 97-80 win over New York on Saturday night. Holiday drilled a sizzling 64 percent of his attempts from the field (16 for 25) and was 1 for 4 from 3-point range to finish with 30-plus points for the second time in the past five games. He is averaging 24.2 points in that span. Holiday also contributed five rebounds in 38 minutes.
Analysis: Holiday, who at 22 became the youngest player in franchise history selected to an All-Star team, rebounded from a frigid shooting performance in his last game when he was held to just nine points against Milwaukee last Tuesday. He has displayed the ability to hit shots at a strong clip and owns an overall 46.2 field-goal percentage in January. Fantasy owners should keep him locked in all lineups for his all-around production.

Holiday off the mark

News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday did not have one of his better shooting nights during Tuesday's contest against the Bucks. Holiday connected on just three of his 12 field-goal attempts in the 110-102 defeat and finished with nine points -- his lowest scoring total since Nov. 6. However, he did add 12 assists, six rebounds and one block to his stat line, while logging 40 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Holiday also struggled with his shot in his last game as well, but owners shouldn't be overly concerned here. The 22-year-old ha put together a breakout campaign in Philadelphia thus far as he entered Tuesday's tilt averaging a career-best 19.2 points and 8.9 assists on 45 percent shooting from the field. Holiday has taken his game to a whole new level this season so leave him active in all formats moving forward.

Holiday back in action

News: As expected, 76ers guard Jrue Holiday was able to get back on the court for Friday's contest against the Hawks. Analysis: Holiday has been playing at a high level all season and entered the contest averaging 18.4 points and 8.9 assists. The fact that he logged 36 minutes Friday night seems to suggest he is over his foot issues, so Fantasy owners should feel free to get Holiday active in the majority of formats heading into Week 9 (Dec. 24-30), as long as he doesn't suffer a setback.

Holiday hopes to return

News: The Sixers announced Thursday that starting guards Jrue Holiday (foot) and Evan Turner (ankle) are both game-time decisions for Friday’s game against the Hawks. They were both examined by team doctor Dr. Jack McPhilemy, and will need to be evaluated prior to game time before a final determine on their status is made. Turner left Wednesday’s game with the injury, while Holiday has missed four consecutive games.
Analysis: Holiday’s injury has been disastrous for the Sixers, who have gone winless in four games without him. The team is taking a long-term view with his recovery, however, so they will certainly not rush him back. He was trying to play Wednesday, but the team decided to give him at least another day off. We will keep an eye on his status moving forward, and Fantasy owners should make sure to get Holiday back in the starting lineup in all formats as soon as he gets back. He was averaging 18.4 points and 8.9 assists before the injury.

Sixers taking caution with Holiday

News: Sixers guard Jrue Holiday missed his fourth game in a row Wednesday against the Rockets, as he continues to deal with a strained left foot. The team considered bringing him back, however coach Doug Collins told NBA.com that they want to take it easy with their star point guard. He will try to return Friday against the Hawks. “He told me that he was feeling better [today], and hopefully if all goes well, he’ll play Friday night,” Collins said. “I know Jrue wants to play more than anybody. He’s 22 years old, we have a huge investment in him … and there’s no way in the world right now we’re going to be short-term foolish.”
Analysis: The Sixers gave Holiday a big extension at the beginning of the season, so it is little surprise that they are taking things easy with his recovery. Holiday was playing at a high level prior to the injury, averaging 18.4 points and 8.9 assists per game. Hopefully he can get back to full health this weekend and get back on the floor, as Holiday is a high-end Fantasy option in all formats, when healthy.

Holiday out as expected

News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday missed his third consecutive game Tuesday at Dallas as he continues to be hampered by a strained left foot. 76ers coach Doug Collins said Holiday, who was viewed as doubtful for the contest, could return to the lineup Wednesday at Houston.
Analysis: Holiday has been slow to recover from his foot issue, which is being described as a soft tissue injury. If he's unable to return for the second game of the back-to-back set, he could benefit from the extra rest day before Philadelphia's next game at home on Friday. Holiday currently ranks third in the NBA with 8.9 assists per game and should be viewed as a high-end Fantasy option when active, though his status continues to look grim.

Holiday aiming to return Tuesday

News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday (foot) said he is hoping to return to action Tuesday at Dallas, but there is still no guarantee, the Bucks County Times reports. Holiday has been sidelined the past two games with a sprained left foot and was expected to miss "a few more days," coach Doug Collins said Sunday. The 76ers also travel to Houston on Wednesday for the second game of a back-to-back set.
Analysis: Holiday has been slow to recover from his foot issue, which is being described as a soft tissue injury. However, Collins said he does not anticipate the setback being a lingering issue and the team hopes he can return to the lineup during any of its four games in Fantasy Week 8 (Dec. 17-23). Holiday currently ranks third in the NBA with 8.9 assists per game and should be viewed as a high-end Fantasy option when active.

Holiday sits out again

News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday was ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Lakers as he continues to deal with a left foot sprain. Head coach Doug Collins, who called it a "soft-tissue injury," told reporters that he is expected to be out a few more days. Holiday has now missed two straight games.
Analysis: Holiday has taken part in shooting drills and is slowly making progress. That said, it seems as if his status is still uncertain for the team's next game at Dallas Tuesday night, so we'll continue to keep an eye on his status moving forward. He may return at some point during Week 8 (Dec. 17-23), but it might be wise to keep him on your bench until he is back at full strength and playing productive. Holiday is averaging 18.4 points and 8.9 assists, so consider him a high-end option, when healthy.
