Analysis: Holiday has really struggled with his game of late as he has now failed to score in double figures in each of his last three contests. He is shooting just 38 percent from the field during his recent slump and is averaging just 10 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 turnovers over that stretch. However, we would expect the 21-year-old to turn it around before too long, so leave him active in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday played 36 minutes in Tuesday's blowout win over Cleveland. Holiday, who appeared to tweak his wrist but returned to the game shortly after with no ill effects, shot 9 of 19 from the field and hit a 3-pointer to score 19 points. Holiday had six assists and three steals in the performance to go with three rebounds and a blocked shot for the Sixers.
Analysis: Holiday has been playing consistently well of late for Philadelphia. He's averaging 16.0 points, 5.0 assists, 2.6 rebounds and almost a 3-pointer per game over his last five contests. Philadelphia and Fantasy owners have been able to count on Holiday just about all season and that isn't changing now. He is a viable option in most Fantasy formats.
News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday cooled off on Sunday against the Spurs, scoring just 10 points on 5 of 14 shooting as the Sixers lost, 93-76. Holiday also struggled to create scoring chances for others, picking up just three assists, his lowest total in five games. He did manage to get two steals in the game and three rebounds, however he did not do enough to make up for an overall lackluster showing.
Analysis: Despite the poor game, Holiday has been playing some of the best basketball of his season recently, as he is averaging 18.2 points and 4.8 assists per game over the last five, both better than his season averages. Those numbers are carried a little by a two-game stretch where he averaged 25 points per game, however Holiday is clearly starting to play better. His 14.7 points per game average in the month of March is his best average of the season, so continue to consider Holiday a viable starting guard while he is hot.
News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday hadnt even scored as many as 20 points in a game since prior to the All-Star break before Saturdays game against the Bulls, however with the rest of the team struggling to score, took over offensively, scoring a career-high 30 points on 13 of 27 shooting. Holiday also added five rebounds and five assists in the game, however his efforts were not enough, as the rest of the team faltered in an 89-80.
Analysis: Holiday has really struggled recently, averaging 11.9 points and 3.8 assists per game in the month of March, so we can only hope that Saturdays breakout was a sign of things to come. Holiday has seen his scoring average go down in each month of the season, a trend he needs to turn around down the stretch if he is going to be a viable Fantasy option. He has still been a fine low-end guard, but Holiday has the potential for so much more, as he showed on Saturday. Keep him in the lineup in most Fantasy formats for this potential.
News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday was finally able to knock down some shots during Friday night's contest against the Jazz. Holiday went 7 of 11 from the field in the 104-91 win, finishing with 16 points. He made both of his attempts from behind the arc and also added four assists, three rebounds and three steals to his stat line, while logging 32 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Holiday was finally able to make some shots after shooting just 38 percent from the field over his last few contests. Still, the 21-year-old has been a bit of a disappointment this season as his production has dipped from last year. However, he is still averaging 12.6 points and 4.6 assists over his last five contests, so leave him active in the majority of formats moving forward.
News: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday saw limited action on Tuesday night in a win over the Pistons. With the 76ers winning big, the bench saw a lot more action in the game. Holiday got just 25 minutes and shot 4 of 8 from the field for 10 points. Holiday added five assists and three steals in the win for the Sixers.
Analysis: The 21-year-old Holiday has scored just 16 points in his last two games combined since dropping 20-plus in consecutive games. Still, his play Tuesday was a reflection of his minutes mostly. Holiday remains a solid Fantasy point guard for use in most formats.
News: Philadelphia coach Doug Collins would like point guard Jrue Holliday to push the ball in transition more. Collins would like Holliday to be more aggressive. Holliday scored just three points on Friday over 32 minutes in a loss to Dallas. He went 0 for 9 from the field with four rebounds, two assists and a block with three steals.
Analysis: Holliday had an ugly game on Friday and has scored just three points in back-to-back contests. He's averaging just 10.6 PPG over his last five, down from 13-plus on the year. Holliday isn't really passing the ball at a high level of late and his 3-point shooting leaves a lot to be desired. Holliday has the ability to be a must-start Fantasy guard, but can be benched in 10-team leagues until he starts showing more aggression as his coach wants.
News: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday poured in 19 points Monday against the Bobcats, which was the second straight game he scored 19-plus points. Holiday hadn't been above 17 points in his previous 14 games. He is shooting 46.4 percent (13 for 28) in his last two games, while making 11 of 12 free throws.
Analysis: Holiday is averaging 14.1 points per game in 2011-12, which is just slightly higher than his 14.0 average from last season. It's worth pointing out, however, that Holiday still has room to improve since his rebounding and assists averages are both down from last season. Perhaps he can use this scoring spike to go on a nice run. Despite his numbers being slightly down in some areas, Holiday is still doing enough to remain a viable Fantasy start in all formats.
News: 76ers G Jrue Holiday was able to find his scoring touch during Saturday night's contest against the Cavaliers. Holiday finished with a team-high 20 points in the 99-84 win, on 6 of 13 shooting from the field. He went 7 of 8 from the charity stripe and also chipped in with five assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block, while logging 35 minutes of game action.
Analysis: Holiday has been unable to match his production from his breakout season last year thus far, which has been disappointing to Fantasy owners thus far. However, the 21-year-old is still putting up solid numbers across the board and is shooting just over 40 percent from behind the arc. While Philadelphia's balanced scoring cuts into his production at times, owners should leave Holiday active in the majority of formats heading into Fantasy Week 8 (Feb. 13-19).
News: Sixers G Jrue Holiday struggled somewhat with his shot on Wednesday night against the Spurs, however he did end up turning in a solid-enough overall game in the end. He scored 15 points on 6 of 15 shooting, including two three-pointers, and he also added four rebounds, seven assists and a steal. The Spurs would end up winning, however, 100-90.
Analysis: Holiday has struggled with his shot at times this year, and is hitting just 43.1 percent of his shots from the field on the year. Despite that, he is still putting up 14.0 points, 4.7 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game, making him a very useful Fantasy option, especially in Rotisserie formats.
News: Philadelphia PG Jrue Holiday did not shoot well during Monday's win over the Orlando Magic. Luckily for the 76ers, Orlando was just horrendous in the game and took the loss. Holiday went 3 for 11 from the field over 30 minutes as he scored just six points. He added six assists in the game.
Analysis: Holiday needs to work on his shot and hit it more consistently to become a better NBA and Fantasy player. That said, his averages of almost 15 points, five assists and two steals per game, including a 3-pointer, keep him viable in most Fantasy formats.
News: Philadelphia PG Jrue Holiday had another solid performance in a win over the Wizards on Monday night. Holiday shot 8 for 15 from the field over 37 minutes on the floor to score 17 points for the 76ers. Holiday added four assists and four rebounds to go with a steal and just one turnover. The 76ers were a team-high plus-15 with Holiday on the floor.
Analysis: The 21-year-old point guard continues to improve for the Sixers. Holiday is averaging 16 points, 5.6 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game -- not to mention 1.2 3-pointers -- over his last five contests. All those numbers either meet or are improvements on his season averages. Holiday continues to be worth starting just about at all times in most Fantasy formats.
News: Philadelphia G Jrue Holiday registered a game-high 24 points and five assists during the 76ers' 94-82 victory over Milwaukee on Monday. Holiday was a sizzling 11 of 17 from the field, including 2 for 4 from downtown, as his scoring total was also a best for the season. It was the first time Holiday drained 10-plus shots in a game this year as he came into the contest averaging 42.9 percent from the field.
Analysis: Holiday has seen his assist totals vary for most of the season as he has attempted to develop some consistency. His five assists against the Bucks were his most over the past four games and closer to his average posted his month (5.1). Holiday has topped at least eight assists three times this season and has the potential to reach double digits. Fantasy owners should view him as a No. 2 Fantasy G in most formats for now.
News: 76ers G Jrue Holiday turned in another solid performance in Tuesday night's contest against the Kings. Holiday finished with 17 points in the 112-85, on 8 of 13 shooting from the field. Holiday went just 1 of 2 from downtown and also chipped in with eight assists, six rebounds, four steals, while logging 32 minutes of game action. Holiday is averaging 14.2 points, 6.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals over his last five contests.
Analysis: After getting off to a slow start, Holiday has starting rounding into form a bit of late. While his overall shooting percentage for the season is still at 43 percent, he has been shooting at a 48 percent clip over the his last five contests, including 43 percent from downtown over that stretch. While his turnovers are still a bit on the high side, Holiday's overall production continues to rank him as a No. 2 Fantasy G in the majority of formats.
News: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday led the 76ers in scoring in a game in which they defeated the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night. Holiday put up 15 shots and hit eight of them with four 3-pointers to score a team-high 23 points over 39 minutes on the floor. Holiday went 3 for 3 from the line and added eight assists, two rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: Holiday has been impressive thus far for Philadelphia as he put up his second 20-point game of the year. He could use more passing nights like Wednesday, but as long as he's shooting as he has, Holiday can be active in most Fantasy leagues.
News: 76ers G Jrue Holiday, who bruised his knee on Wednesday against the Suns, is expected to play in the Sixers game against the Jazz on Friday night. He practiced on Thursday and is expected to play full time in the matchup.
Analysis: It is the second injury Holiday has sustained in the early going, as he dealt with a strained Achilles in training camp. Holiday is expected to build on a very nice rookie campaign this year, so we hope injuries dont continue to hit him. As long as hes healthy, consider him a No. 2 starting guard in all Fantasy formats.
News: Philadelphia G Jrue Holiday recorded 13 points and three rebounds before fouling out during the 76ers' 107-103 loss to Portland on Monday night. Holiday also added two assists and a steal as he logged 36 minutes of playing time. He was in the starting lineup Monday after missing practice earlier this month with a strained Achilles'.
Analysis: Holiday didn't have an impressive performance as he shot just 40 percent from the field and also committed a game-high six turnovers. The rising 21-year-old is expected to build on his sterling campaign in 2010-11, but he will obviously have to stay on the court in order to accomplish that task. He played in all 82 games last season and averaged 6.5 assists per game. Consider him a strong option in most Fantasy formats for now.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday returned to practice on Monday after missing it on Sunday. Holiday's Achilles' strain is OK and the guard shouldn't be expected to miss time going forward.
Analysis: Holiday might not see much playing time during the 76ers' exhibition opener on Friday as the team would like to keep him fresh for the regular season. The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakout season in 2010-11 and averaged career highs in points (14) and assists (6.5). He is likely to serve as Philadelphia's starting point guard this year and remains a solid shooter (44.5 career field-goal percentage). Consider him a quality option in the early middle rounds of most 2011-12 Fantasy drafts and don't worry about his bumps and bruises right now.
News: Philadelphia G Jrue Holiday missed Sunday's practice due to a strained left Achilles tendon, according to the team's official website. He is considered day to day with the issue.
Consider him a quality option in the early middle rounds of most 2011-12 Fantasy drafts.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday has just two years under his belt, but the future is looking for for the 76ers. Holiday was one of eight guards in the NBA that started all 82 games last season. He averaged 14 points and 6.5 assists per outing. The one thing the young guard has to work on is his turnovers. He had a 2.44 assist-to-turnover ratio during the year, which was 44th in the league. He did have some trouble in the playoffs, but coach Doug Collins made an adjustment and had Andre Iguodala run the show as the point-forward. Holiday shot 44.6 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from downtown during the regular season.
Analysis: The 76ers have a young nucleus and Holiday is a big part of it. He proved he's a good shooter -- better than some gave him credit for -- and finished the year as a top-12 Fantasy guard. Not bad for a guy that was drafted on average in Round 6. Holiday is still young and will go through some bumps in the road, but is well worth drafting in the early rounds this fall.
News: With Andre Iguodala taking more of the ball-handling duties, Sixers guard Jrue Holiday has had less of a load on the offensive end. He's adjusted accordingly, and the trend continued in Wednesday's game against the Hawks. Holiday scored 12 points on 5 of 11 shooting, sinking 2 of 3 shots from beyond the arc. He also paced the team in the distribution department, assisting on five baskets on the night. Holiday also found a way to collect two rebounds in 31 minutes of playing time in the win.
Analysis: Holiday and Iguodala basically share the floor general duties, and the second-year man out of UCLA has responded without seeing a drop-off in production. In fact, his numbers have remained the same despite the slightly-different roles. Holiday averages 13.6 points, 6.2 assists and four rebounds per night for the season, and his line over the last 10 games averages out to 12-6-5. Fantasy owners should be able to trust him as a mid-range option in the majority of formats moving forward, especially with Philly hitting on all cylinders as they gear-up for postseason play.
News: Sixers guard Jrue Holiday had a pretty solid outing on Tuesday night against the Mavericks, but he couldn't contain veteran guard Jason Kidd. Kidd recorded a triple-double against Holiday and the 76ers, but Holiday didn't have such a bad night himself. He scored 14 points, dished out six assists and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. He didn't have a particularly good night shooting the ball as he converted just 1 of his 5 freebies at the charity stripe and went 6 for 15 from the field -- going 1 for 4 from beyond the 3-point arc. Philadelphia would end up losing the game, 101-93, to Dallas and Kidd.
Analysis: Holiday was struggling just before the All-Star break for the 76ers, but has been picking his game up as of late. Over his last four games he's averaging 14.8 points and 7.0 assists per outing. Coach Doug Collins has Philly playing well and is getting plenty of production from his young guard. Fantasy owners should keep Holiday active as he's a solid start in all formats.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday tallied a team-high 20 points and three assists in the 76ers' 117-94 victory over Washington on Wednesday. Playing in his first game since the All-Star break, Holiday drained 8 of 12 shots from the field, including 2 of 4 from 3-point range. The efficient outing from long range snapped a 0 for 3 stretch in the last two games for the 36.8-percent 3-point shooter. Holiday added two rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes of playing time.
Analysis: Aside from a 27-point outburst against San Antonio, Holiday was laboring into last weekend's All-Star break and scored fewer than 16 points during every game in February. He appears to be refreshed after collecting just his second 20-point outing in the last 21 games. Holiday has now knocked down eight shots in his last two contests and connected on over 65 percent of his attempts in that span. With favorable opponents Detroit and Cleveland ahead on Philadelphia's schedule, Holiday should continue his strong scoring output. Leave him active in all Fantasy formats.
News: Sixers guard Jrue Holiday is having a good start to his second season heading into the All-Star break. NBA.com reports that Holiday didnt have the bulk and experience to take over as the Sixers starting point guard right away as a rookie. But he spent time this summer on refining his game and learning exactly what a point guard needs to do in order for his team to maximize its potential. After averaging 8.0 points and 3.8 assists in 51 starts during his rookie season, Holiday has raised those averages to 13.8 points and 6.2 assists in 56 starts during what has become a breakout sophomore season. He can play both ends of the floor, Sixers coach Doug Collins told reporters in Philadelphia recently. He can disrupt you (on defense). Hes unselfish. He makes the game easier for other people.
Analysis: We hope that Holiday can finish the season strong just like he started, and he has become a quality Fantasy option in all leagues. Continue to use Holiday as a starting option in most formats following the All-Star break as long as he keeps playing at a high level.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday tallied 20 points and eight assists in the 76ers' 114-105 victory over Houston on Wednesday night. Holiday knocked down 8 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 2 from 3-point range, to total the point output of his last two games combined. Holiday has helped lead Philadelphia to a 24-16 record since a 3-13 start. The 76ers now have the seventh-best record in the Eastern Conference heading into All-Star weekend. "We've got our minds on something else, and that's the playoffs," Holiday said. "To start off 3-13 and kick butt from there on, it's great for us."
Analysis: Holiday's breakout second season has been a huge reason for Philadelphia improved play recently. He is averaging 13.6 points and 6.2 assists per game and has posted double digits in scoring in his last four games. Holiday tallied 72.7 percent of his shots Wednesday -- the third time he has topped 50 percent in his last four outings. His assist totals have become a bit inconsistent, but Fantasy owners can hope the extended time off from the All-Star break will re-energize the point guard. Keep him active in all Fantasy formats.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday had 27 points on Friday against San Antonio. In his previous four games combined he had a total of 26 points. It's the most he's scored since getting 26 on Jan. 6. Holiday shot 9 for 14 from the field -- going 3 for 4 from beyond the 3-point arc -- and connecting on all six of his foul shots. He added three steals, five rebounds and two assists in his 38 minutes of action. His efforts would help Philly win the game, 77-71, over the Spurs.
Analysis: Holiday has been losing some assists to Andre Iguodala lately, as he's averaging just 2.6 assists per outing over his last five contests. Holiday is averaging just 10.6 points, 1.6 steals and 3.4 boards over that span. Entering Friday, Holiday was shooting 10 for 29 over his previous four games. He's been inconsistent to start 2011, but the second-year guard has potential to be a quality Fantasy guard in most formats. For now it'd probably be best to keep him reserved in shallower leagues until he puts a few good games together.
News:The Sports Xchange reports that 76ers PG Jrue Holiday, since scoring 10-plus points in 14 straight games from Dec. 22 to Jan. 20, has been in single digits in five of the last nine games.
Analysis: Holiday did barely scrape together a triple-double last week and had 15 points Tuesday night against the Hawks, but his inconsistency has to be frustrating his Fantasy owners who saw him average over 15 points in December. Hopefully the youngster will get things turned around soon, but for now he can certainly be benched in some shallower leagues.
News: 76ers PG Jrue Holiday had his worst offensive game of the season Sunday in a loss to the Knicks. Holiday finished with just two points on 1 of 8 shooting, but did add three rebounds, four assists and three steals, along with four turnovers.
Analysis: This outing comes four days after Holiday scraped together a triple-double, so it's been quite an up-and-down week for the youngster. While his offensive game still needs some work, Holiday is a nice raw talent and remains worth using in the majority of Fantasy formats. Everyone has a day at the office like this now and again.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday had 11 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for his first career triple-double to lead the 76ers to a victory over New Jersey on Wednesday night. Holiday finished 5 of 11 from the field, including 1 of 3 from 3-point range, to become the first Philadelphia player to post a triple-double this season. Holiday played 36 minutes to help the 76ers win for the five time in their last six games. "I guess it just kind of came to me," Holiday said of the triple-double. "Every loose ball, every rebound, it just kind of came to me. You saw Andre [Iguodala] and Spencer [Hawes], you saw them running. If they're running, I'm going to pass it to them."
Analysis: Holiday's triple-double was a bit surprising considering he has recorded more than six rebounds in a game just three times this season. He has been surging lately with his assist totals and has tallied 8.0 assists in his last five games, including a pair of 11-assist performances. His shooting percentage remains sporadic but he makes for a solid guard in all Fantasy formats. Keep him active in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday had just three assists in Friday's 99-94 loss to Memphis. He would shoot 6 for 11 from the field -- nailing 4 of his 5 3-pointers -- as he finished with 16 points. Holiday would add two rebounds in his 38 minutes of action. Earlier in the week coach Doug Collins had said his guard was mentally tired and that he would rest Holiday as much as possible. Since Collins said that Holiday is averaging 34 minutes a game over his last five outings. The coach said his young point guard has to deal with some of the best players in the NBA and expends a lot of energy on a nightly basis.
Analysis: Holiday is averaging 12.2 points, 6.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds per outing over his last five games. He's been struggling with his shot from downtown, going 6 for 16 over that span. The second-year guard is having a solid year in Philly, but the wear and tear of the season may be catching up to him. He should be fine moving forward, but owners will want him to pick up his production a touch. Fantasy owners should continue to consider Holiday a solid guard option in all formats, unless he starts showing more some fatigue.
News: 76ers G Jrue Holiday entered Monday's game against the Suns having shot just 34.9 percent over his previous five games and averaging 11.6 points per game after shooting 54.6 percent and averaging 20.0 points per game in the nine games before that. He played slightly better against Phoenix as he scored eight points on 4 of 9 shooting in the 105-95 win. Before the game, Sixers coach Doug Collins told the Delaware News Journal that Holiday is mentally tired. So Collins said he wants Holiday to rest as much as possible. He also said the fatigue is understandable, considering some of the opposing point guards that Holiday has had to cover over the past three weeks. He plays probably the toughest position and hes going against the best players in the league, Collins said. Hes seeing those guys every night. Were asking him to expend a lot of energy. When you get banged around like that, it takes a toll. Holiday also had eight assists, six steals and three rebounds in 32 minutes on Monday night.
Analysis: Collins talked to Holiday after practice Sunday, telling him not to spend extra time on the court working on his jump shot. Rather, he wants Holiday getting massages and finding ways to relax. Holiday is averaging 11.2 points with 5.8 assists and 3.4 steals over his last five contests. While his scoring has been down of late, his has done well in other areas and should improve since his coach plans on getting him some rest. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on how the 20-year-old responds. Holiday is a well-rounded guard who can provide across the board and remains a solid play in most formats.
News: Sixers G Jrue Holiday was limited to 10 points for a second consecutive game on Monday against Charlotte. He shot just 3 for 14 from the field, adding six assists, two rebounds and three steals. Holiday is averaging 14.6 points over his last five games.
Analysis: Holiday did not fare well in a tough defensive game against Milwaukee, attempting just six shots on Jan. 14. On Monday, he just struggled with his shot. He is not likely to stay down for long and will continue to see double-digit shot totals more often than not. He is a well-rounded guard who can provide across the board and is a solid play in any format.
News: 76ers G Jrue Holiday had another solid performance on Saturday night against the Pistons and recorded his eighth double-double of the year. Analysis: Holiday has stepped up huge for Philadelphia with the loss of Andre Iguodala (Achilles') and is averaging 18.2 points with 8.8 assists and 1.8 steals over his last five contests. He is contributing across the board and has even started chipping in with some 3-pointers. With Iguodala likely to miss another game or two, Holiday could be in for another solid performance during the upcoming scoring period. With Indiana and Milwaukee on the schedule in Week 12 (Jan. 10-16), continue to view the 20-year-old as a solid option in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday is playing like the go-to leader of the Sixers with Andre Iguodala missing time. Holiday scored 26 points on 10 of 14 shooting Wednesday as Philadelphia pulled out a win over Washington. He added nine assists, four rebounds, two steals and a block.
Analysis: Holiday's numbers are looking like a top Fantasy point guard's of late as he's averaging 21 points, 8.8 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. He's even giving Fantasy owners a 3-pointer every time he goes out. He's already starting in the majority of Fantasy leagues, and rightly so. Holiday is coming into his own right now. That said, Fantasy owners will have to decide if he's worth starting in Week 12 (Jan. 10-16) as Philadelphia only plays twice in the scoring period.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday registered a team-high 19 points and 11 assists in the 76ers' 102-98 loss to the Lakers on Friday night. It was Holiday's seventh double-double of the season and his second in his last three games. Holiday logged 42 minutes of playing time and connected on 7 of 16 shots from the field, including 2 of 3 from 3-point range. He also added two steals and three rebounds for the second game in a row.
Analysis: Holiday was been astounding passing the ball recently and has 29 assists in his last three games. With star guard Andre Iguodala missing his third consecutive game -- and likely the next two outings -- Holiday picked up the scoring production again and sank 44 percent of his shots for the fifth straight contest. He has now netted 41of his last 73 shots (56.1 percent) in his last five games and could continue his hot play next week when the 76ers face Washington and Detroit. Keep him as must-start in all Fantasy formats.
News: Philadelphia managed to defeat Phoenix on Wednesday despite not having the services of Andre Iguodala for the game. Point guard Jrue Holiday helped with that. Holiday scored a team-high 25 points in the game on 12 of 18 shooting over 41 minutes. He added seven assists and turned the ball over only twice.
Analysis: Holiday has topped 20 points in three straight games and is averaging 18.8 per night over his last five. With 18 assists in his last two contests, Holiday is showing breakout ability at the moment. He's been a solid start all year and is coming into his own right now.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday could be coming out of his three-game slump. He scored 15 points, dished out five assists and grabbed five boards on Wednesday night against Boston. He shot 6 for 13 from the field -- hitting his lone 3-pointer -- and knocking down 2 of his 3 foul shots. Holiday added one steal for the 76ers, but his efforts would be on the losing side. The Celtics won their 14th straight game, as they beat the 76ers 84-80.
Analysis: Holiday had been struggling as of late, but could be back on track for Philly. He had just 20 points and 11 assists combined over his last three outings. His five-game averages are 11.8 points, 4.2 assists and 4.0 boards. While his numbers are down a bit, he's still a serviceable guard. Continue viewing him as a No. 2 guard option.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday turned in his worst shooting game of the season, scoring just six points in the 76ers' 93-81 loss to the Lakers on Friday night. Holiday was cold all night and finished 3 for 15 from the field (20 percent) and missed all four of his 3-point attempts. Holiday managed six assists and three rebounds as Philadelphia couldn't take advantage of a Kobe Bryant injury and had its three-game winning streak snapped.
Analysis: Holiday's poor night halted a six-game span the point guard had reached double digits in scoring. The second-year pro had logged several minutes on the court during the team's winning streak but totaled just 31 on Friday -- his lowest in seven games. Holiday, who had been shooting better from 3-point range this month, was held 0 for 4 from long range for the third time this season. Consider Holiday a low-end No. 2 Fantasy guard at this point and hope his production becomes consistent.
News: Sixers guard Jrue Holiday led all scorers in Tuesday's win over New Jersey. Holiday dropped 19 points and that was good enough to lead everyone on both teams in the low-scoring game. He shot 5 for 11 from the field over 35 minutes and went 2 for 3 from 3-point range. Holiday added five assists, four rebounds and a steal.
Analysis: The former UCLA standout guard has been playing well of late for the Sixers and is averaging almost 15 points per game over his last five. That is almost two points higher than his season average for scoring. Holiday is also giving Fantasy owners a decent amount of assists and rebounds for a guard. With his steals and 3-point shooting added in, Holiday resembles a viable start in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday netted 12 points and dished out six assists in the 76ers 102-101 loss to the Celtics on Thursday. He shot 4 for 13 from the floor, going 1 for 5 from downtown, and converting 3 of his 5 foul shots. He would add three rebounds and a steal in his 34 minutes of action.
Analysis: Holiday is averaging 11.6 points, 5.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds over his last five games. He's been struggling from downtown over that span as he has gone 6 for 20 from behind the arc. Philadelphia isn't winning games, but it is not for the lack of effort. Holiday is doing his part for the 76ers, and Fantasy owners are happy with his production. He should be viewed as a No. 2 Fantasy guard for now, but the youngster has a lot of potential.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday tallied seven assists and scored 15 points in the 76ers' 109-91 victory over the Bobcats on Saturday night. Holiday finished 6 for 11 from the field, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, to effectively rebound from his season-low points total (four) in Friday's game at Atlanta. Holiday's seven assists Saturday were more than his total in his previous two games (6).
Analysis: After scoring in double digits in 13 of Philadelphia's first 15 games on the season, Holiday's scoring has slightly dipped recently. He is averaging just 10 points in his last three games, however his assist totals continue to hold steady. Excluding his season-low one assist against Portland on Nov. 30, he is still hovering around his season average of 6.9 assists per game on a nightly basis. The scoring may be a bit sporadic but Holiday will continue to collect assists -- consider him a No. 2 Fantasy guard.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday had a team-high 20 points and 13 assists to spark the 76ers past the Nets on Saturday to snap a three-game losing streak. Holiday's 13 assists matched a season high, and he has now reached that number in a game on three occasions this season. "Our ace of spades tonight was (Jrue) Holliday," Sixers coach Doug Collins said. "He is growing every day, I can just see it." He also added four rebounds and three steals Saturday.
Analysis: Holiday is emerging as a valuable point guard in his second season with Philadelphia. On Saturday night, he sank 9 of his 16 shots, just the third game this season he has recorded a 56 percent mark or better from the field. He is averaging 13.5 points per game and 7.1 assists per game. Holiday should continue to provide solid assist totals, particularly against weaker opponents, and should be viewed as No. 2 Fantasy guard while he runs the point for the 76ers.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday scored 16 points, reaching double digits for the 13th consecutive game, in the 76ers' 106-90 loss at Toronto on Wednesday night. Holiday connected on 6 of 12 shots, the first time in six games he has shot 50 percent or better from the field. He also added seven rebounds and six assists for the 76ers.
Analysis: Holiday has been solid as Philadelphia's point guard this season. The second-year player leads the team with an average of 35.5 minutes a game and continues to post high assist totals. He is now averaging 7.0 assists per game in his last five contests and 7.2 for the season. Continue to treat him as a No. 2 Fantasy G while he continues to log plenty of minutes.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday was on pace for a triple-double, but would fall just short on Friday night against Milwaukee. He's had three double-doubles over his six games. Holiday finished with 10 points, six boards and five assists in the 76ers 90-79 win over the Bucks. He shot 4 for 12 from the field -- 1 for 3 from downtown -- and was 1 for 2 from the foul line.
Analysis: Holiday is playing well and the 76ers need him to step up with Andre Iguodala out of action. Fantasy owners should continue to view him as solid start in standard Fantasy formats. He's been shooting a good percentage from the field before Friday's outing, so he shouldn't hurt owners in too many categories.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday recorded his third double-double in his last four games on Tuesday night in a loss at Cleveland. Holiday shot just 3 for 9 from the field and went 0 for 2 from long range. He just got into double figures in scoring with 11 points but added 10 assists. He also grabbed four rebounds over 38 minutes.
Analysis: The 76ers' point guard is averaging 14.8 points, 9.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game over his last five contests. That comes with a 3-pointer per night as well. Fantasy owners are getting consistent production for the second-year player. Holiday can be active in most Fantasy leagues at this point.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday continues to play at a high level for the 76ers as he scored 17 points and dished out 11 dimes in Wednesday's 109-101 loss to the Thunder. Holiday went 5 for 8 from the field and hit 7 of 9 foul shots. He added two boards and two steals before fouling out of the game.
Analysis: Holiday is playing extremely well for the 76ers right now, despite having six turnovers on Wednesday. He had just three turnovers over his last three games, so he does have good ball control. He may have inconsistent stretches as he plays for a young squad in Philly and is still adjusting to a new coach. The way he is playing right now, owners should view Holiday as a solid starting guard in all Fantasy formats.
News: Sixers G Jrue Holiday had another strong performance in Sunday's game at the Knicks. He scored 19 points with eight assists and five rebounds while playing 40-plus minutes for the second time in four games. He went 4 for 5 from beyond the arc and is 7 for 10 from 3-point territory in his last two games.
Analysis: Holiday, a breakout candidate coming into the season, is clearly past his slow start. He is averaging 17.0 points, 7.2 assists and 3.4 rebounds over his last five games with 2.0 steals and solid 3-point shooting. He deserves to be active in all formats going forward.
News: 76ers G Jrue Holiday had the best game of his young career on Friday night against the Cavilers. He scored a career-high 29 points on 10 of 17 shooting while playing 39 minutes in the 123-116 loss. Holiday went 3 for 5 from downtown and made 6 of 8 free throws while leading Philadelphia in scoring. He also had one rebound, eight assists, two steals and a blocked shot in the defeat.
Analysis: Holiday has scored in double figures each of his last four games while still getting everyone else involved in the offense. After averaging just eight points his rookie year, he could be in for a breakout campaign as a solid player on a bad team. While he won't average close to 30 points on a nightly basis, look for his minutes and production to go up in the next coming weeks. Holiday is more of a No. 4 Fantasy guard at this point but he looks to be on the rise.
News: Philadelphia G Jrue Holiday recorded a double-double in the overtime loss to Washington on Tuesday night. Holiday played 41 minutes in the overtime affair and shot 6 of 11 from the field to score 14 points. He dished out 13 assists but turned the ball over six times in the game.
Analysis: Holiday keeps getting more minutes for the 76ers and Tuesday was his best effort yet. Right now he's averaging 10 points, 5.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and is shooting 30 percent from 3-point range. If Tuesday is any indication, those numbers can definitely all go up. Holiday is still a special talent and has a lot of growing up to do in the NBA, but he is more of a No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy guard until his numbers begin to improve consistently.
News: For the second straight game to open the season, 76ers PG Jrue Holiday was held under 10 points on Friday against the Hawks. He scored eight points as he went 3 of 11 from the field and hit 1 of 2 free throws. Holiday, who scored six points in the opener Wednesday against Miami, added four rebounds, four assists and two steaks. He also avoided a turnover after having five on Wednesday.
Analysis: With the way Holiday is starting his 2010-11 season it doesn't appear he wants to improve much on his rookie campaign, which ended with him averaging 8.0 points and 3.8 assists per game. His biggest struggle to begin the season has been field-goal percentage. He is hitting just 25 percent (5 for 20) of his shots after two games. Holiday is still a special talent and has a lot of growing up to do in the NBA, but he is more of a No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy guard until his numbers begin to improve.
News: The 76ers exercised their third-year option on PG Jrue Holiday on Thursday. Holiday, who is taking over as the starting point guard this season after finishing last season in the role, has had a big preseason, averaging 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists. He even had a triple-double back on Oct. 13.
Analysis: Holiday is also a good source of steals and will hit his share of 3-pointers. He's capable of contributing across the board, which makes him an excellent middle-round sleeper in Fantasy. He could end up performing like a No. 2 Fantasy guard.
News: Philadelphia lost to Toronto in double overtime on Wednesday, but coach Doug Collins is looking at a positive -- guard Jrue Holiday. "The good from that game was that Jrue had his best game. He did a terrific job," Collins told the Philadelphia Daily News. "Those two guards are our leading rebounders this preseason, which is a really good sign because with our small lineup, we told everyone that they need to pitch in and rebound and those two have poured themselves into doing that." Holiday posted a triple-double of 18 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds in the game, and rookie guard Evan Turner contributed 13 points and 12 boards.
Analysis: Granted Holiday's best game came in a double overtime game, which skews his numbers a bit because not every NBA contest goes that long. Holiday logged almost 46 minutes in that game, so Collins knows his young guard can go the distance when needed. Holiday started the final 51 games last year for Philly and is expected to continue running the offense for the 76ers. Fantasy owners should view Holiday as a nice late-round pick on Draft Day -- a pick that could pay big dividends.
News: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday had a triple-double on Wednesday against Toronto, finishing with 18 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds. The 76ers lost to the Raptors in double overtime, but Holiday showed his durability as he logged almost 46 minutes. He made all four of his foul shots and shot 7 for 12 from the field.
Analysis: Holiday gave the 76ers and Fantasy owners a glimpse of what he can do in Wednesday's game. He is expected to be a starter after starting the final 51 games last season. He is in just his second year, but Holiday is getting a prime chance to shine. He's with a young, athletic team and should be viewed as a sleeper on Draft Day. He's worth taking in the mid-to-late rounds, but he has to limit his turnovers (like he did on Wednesday, as he committed just two) to be a big-time Fantasy player.
News: Philadelphia starting point guard Jrue Holiday led all players in turnovers with five in Tuesday's preseason-opening loss to the Nets. Holiday played 28 minutes in the game and shot 4 of 9 from the field with a 3-pointer in four attempts. He added five rebounds, four assists and three steals and scored 10 points in the affair.
Analysis: Holiday is entering his second season in the NBA and is expected to take the point guard reins for the Sixers this year after starting the final 51 games last season. He averaged 13.2 points, 5.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game last March and even averaged 7.4 assists per game in the final seven games of the regular season in April. Holiday needs to limit the turnovers but he got off to a nice start Tuesday and he is definitely a nice sleeper candidate in the late rounds as a player who could post a real breakout season.
News: The Sports Xchange reports that 76ers rookie guard Jrue Holiday, the team's first-round pick last June, was one of the few positives that came out of 2009-10. He ran the offense pretty well for the league's youngest player (19), shot the ball much better than anybody could have anticipated (.390 from three-point land) and defended at a fairly high level. The 6-4 Holiday has all the makings of the Sixers' point guard for years to come. And he could be more advanced if not for the failed Allen Iverson experiment, which took minutes away from him.
Analysis: For the season, Holiday averaged 8.0 points, 3.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals. We like Holiday as a sleeper heading into 2010-11, and he's worth a late-round pick in all leagues.
News: Sixers G Jrue Holiday set a career high with 13 assists in a loss to the Heat on Monday. Holiday shot just 2 of 8 from the field and finished with just four points. He did collect three boards and two steals in 31 minutes.
Analysis: Holiday is averaging 8.6 points and 8.4 assists over his last five contests. While his scoring won't always be there, Holiday does provide a cheap source of dimes. Fantasy owners should consider him a low-end Fantasy option in most formats.
News: Sixers rookie PG Jrue Holiday scored 13 points and dished eight assists Friday against the Bucks. It was the sixth time in his last eight games with 10 or more points. He logged 30 minutes, shooting 5 of 14 from the field, 3 of 5 from long range. He grabbed four rebounds and recorded one steal.
Analysis: Holiday keeps getting better as his rookie season goes on. He's playing his best basketball of the season so far this month, averaging 13.8 points and 7.5 assists through four games. He ends the year as a viable Fantasy guard.
News: Sixers G Jrue Holiday scored a career-high 25 points in a loss to the Raptors on Saturday. Holiday shot 10 of 12 from the floor while adding seven assists and two steal in 43 minutes. He has now scored in double figures in four of his last five games.
Analysis: Holiday is averaging 14.6 points and 7.2 assists over his last five contests. The Sixers play six games during Fantasy Week 24 (April 5-14) and as long as he is healthy, Holiday makes for a viable No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: Sixers G Jrue Holiday scored 10 points and pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds in a loss to the Bulls on Saturday. Holiday shot 4 of 10 from the floor while adding three assists, a steal and a block in 37 minutes. He has scored in double figures in his last five games.
Analysis: Holiday is consistently scoring in double figures and is contributing on the boards to boot. With the Sixers playing three games during Fantasy Week 22 (March 18-22), Holiday can be used as a solid No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News:The Sports Xchange notes that Sixers G Jrue Holiday, a rookie, has scored 18-plus points in five of the past 11 games after not having more than 15 in his first 49 outings.
Analysis: Holiday has not scored less than 15 points in his last three contests and is averaging 6.2 rebounds over his last five contests. With the Sixers playing three games during Fantasy Week 22 (March 18-22), Holiday can be used as a solid No. 3 Fantasy guard.
News: For the fourth time in his last five games, Sixers G Jrue Holiday scored in double figures, putting up 18 points against the Knicks on Monday. Holiday shot 7 of 14 from the field while adding eight rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block in 41 minutes.
Analysis: Holiday is averaging 14 points and 5.6 assists over his last five contests. As he continues to get more comfortable in the offense, his scoring gains consistency. He can be used as a low-end No. 4 Fantasy guard.
News: Philadelphia PG Jrue Holiday continues to prove he can fill in nicely for Allen Iverson now that A.I. is gone. Holiday scored 21 points for the second straight game on Tuesday at Indiana. This comes just days after notching a career-high 23 points against Orlando. He shot 8 for 15 on Tuesday and hit two 3-pointers. Holiday added four dimes, two blocks and a steal.
Analysis: Holiday is averaging 15.2 points, 4.4 assists and two 3-pointers per game over his last five games and his stats will only continue to rise the more comfortable he gets in his new role. Start snatching him up in most 12-team and deeper leagues.
News: Sixers G Jrue Holiday (lip) scored a career-high 23 points in a loss to the Magic on Monday. Holiday shot 9 of 13 from the field while adding five 3's and six assists. It was the second time in his last five games that he has scored in double figures.
Analysis: Holiday is now slated to be the Sixers starting point guard with Allen Iverson out indefinitely. With an increase in minutes, Holiday could see a boost in his Fantasy production. For the moment, he remains a low-end Fantasy option.
News: The Philadelphia Inquirer reports 76ers guard Jrue Holiday missed the end of practice Sunday after bumping his lower lip in a collision with Lou Williams during a drill. Holiday received five stitches in his lip during the Lakers game Friday.
Analysis: It sounds like Holiday will be active against Orlando on Monday and should be fine for Fantasy Week 19. Consider Holiday a low-end Fantasy guard in all formats.
News: 76ers rookie guard Jrue Holiday had 15 points, six assists and two rebounds Tuesday night at Golden State, and he could see a boost in production with Allen Iverson out. Tuesday night was the Sixers first game since Iverson took an indefinite leave of absence to be with his ill daughter. Iverson is expected to miss at least the remaining two games on Philadelphia's road trip and has given no indication when he'll return while he deals with his personal issues.
Analysis: Holiday matched his career-high in points, which he has done two other times this year. If Iverson doesn't return to Philadelphia then Holiday could be worth adding in all leagues, and hopefully he will keep up this level of production. Lou Williams will see the biggest boost in production with Iverson out, but Holiday should also see his play improve.
News: Sixers G Jrue Holiday scored 13 points in a 106-94 victory over San Antonio on Friday. Holiday shot 50 percent from the field (6 of 12) in 45 minutes while adding five boards and four assists. It was the first time in his last four games that Holiday has reached double digits.
Analysis: Holiday is averaging nine points per game over his last five contests to go along with 3.8 assists and 2.8 boards. For a starting point guard, Holiday doesn't really fill up the stat sheet with points or assists and that is why he is a low-end Fantasy option in the deepest of leagues.
News: According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Allen Iverson will miss Tuesday's game against Minnesota and Wednesday's game against Toronto, putting him out through the All-Star break. Iverson has missed the 76ers' last three games to be with his 3-year-old daughter in Atlanta, who is dealing with health issues. In his absence, Jrue Holiday and Willie Green have seen a boost in minutes and touches.
Analysis: Coach Eddie Jordan has said there is still no timetable for Iverson. There are reports that say he could still play in Sunday's All-Star game if his daughter's health improves, but his status for Fantasy Week 17 (Feb. 15-21) remains questionable. As for Holiday and Green, their appeal is limited to that of short-term stopgap measures in deeper formats.
News:Allen Iverson has missed his team's last three games while at home taking care of his daughter, who is dealing with an illness. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Sixers coach Eddie Jordan said Sunday there was "no timetable" for Iverson's return. In his absence, Jrue Holiday and Willie Green have seen a boost in minutes and touches.
Analysis: Obviously, Iverson has bigger concerns than basketball at the moment. Fantasy owners should consider him too risky to play in most weekly format scenarios as he could easily miss both of the team's games in All-Star shortened Week 16 (Feb. 8-14). As for Holiday and Green, their appeal is limited to that of short-term stopgap measures in deeper formats.
News: According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, 76ers G Allen Iverson missed Tuesday's practice due to personal reasons. He is officially listed as a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against Chicago. In his absence, Lou Williams and Jrue Holiday should see a boost in minutes and touches.
Analysis: There is no word as to what the personal matter is, but it appears there is a good chance he won't be back with the team by tipoff Wednesday. Fantasy owners in daily lineup leagues should plan to go with alternatives. Williams has lot much of his Fantasy appeal since the arrival of Iverson, but he could enjoy a solid game against the Bulls. Holiday's appeal is for deeper leagues. He's worth a flier in those formats as a one-game solution.
News: Philadelphia PG Jrue Holiday got the start on Sunday at New Jersey but only played nine minutes in the 76ers victory. Holiday failed to score on 0 for 4 shooting and added an assist and rebound.
Analysis: Holiday may have started against the Nets but it was clear that coach Eddie Jordan favors Lou Williams once again. Williams saw the bulk of the action and Holiday is averaging just under 15 minutes per game over his last five. He's doing little with that minimal time on the court and remains just a low-end Fantasy option for now.
News: Philadelphia PG Jrue Holiday had a nice game Wednesday finishing with 10 points, three assists and four rebounds against the Trailblazers. He played 24 minutes off the bench. It was the first time in 12 games Holiday scored in double figures.
Analysis: Holiday's minutes have dropped and so have his numbers. His scoring is down from 7.2 points and 3.3 assists per game in December to 4.6 points and 2.9 assists in January. He should only be a Fantasy option in the deepest of leagues.
News: Philadelphia rookie guard Jrue Holiday scored six points on Saturday at Detroit. Holiday shot 2 for 4 from the field and hit a three. He added three rebounds and six assists.
Analysis: Holiday is averaging 5.4 points and 2.6 assists per game as a rookie for the 76ers. He saw a boost in playing time Saturday with Allen Iverson out but A.I. should be returning shortly. Fantasy owners should not consider Holiday a very useful Fantasy option going forward.
News: According to the team's official Web site, Sixers coach Eddie Jordan said that Lou Williams would be held out of the starting lineup Tuesday at Washington. Jrue Holiday and Willie Green are expected to start. Williams will come off the bench.
Analysis: Holiday has not been putting up very useful numbers despite his chance to start. With Williams and Iverson expected to be healthy and starting by next week, Fantasy owners should not consider Holiday a very useful Fantasy option going forward.
News: Sixers rookie G Jrue Holiday started in place of injured Allen Iverson Saturday against the Clippers. He shot just 0 for 6 from the field and did not score any points in 23 minutes.
Analysis: Holiday could get some more starts in the next couple of games with Allen Iverson being ruled out. However, Lou Williams made a surprise early return from a jaw injury Saturday and that could cut into his productivity. There are likely better alternatives available to you.
News: Philadelphia PG Jrue Holiday got the start on Monday in a big win over the Warriors. Holiday scored a career-high-tying 15 points on 7 of 14 shooting with a three over 39 minutes. He added seven rebounds and six assists with three steals in a very complete ballgame for the Sixers.
Analysis: Holiday was called upon to start earlier in the year before the Sixers picked up Allen Iverson. He started alongside A.I. on Monday with Elton Brand coming off the bench and the Sixers going with a smaller lineup. This might not continue and Holiday is way too inconsistent, for now at least, to be used in anything but the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: Sixers PG Jrue Holiday returned from a shoulder injury on Friday as expected but was not a significant contributor. He scored merely two points and handed out two assists.
Analysis: Holiday, a rookie, is not going to be a starter now that the 76ers have acquired Allen Iverson. He'll continue to get minimal numbers as a reserve and isn't worth owning outside of the deepest of Fantasy leagues. He certainly isn't worth activating yet.
News: According to the team's official website, Jrue Holiday (shoulder) has been cleared to play Friday night against Houston. He will not be in the starting lineup.
Analysis: Holiday, a rookie, won't have a starting job waiting for him now that the 76ers have acquired Allen Iverson. He'll get minimal numbers as a reserve and isn't worth owning outside of the deepest of Fantasy leagues. He certainly isn't worth activating yet.
News: Sixers G Jrue Holiday remained out on Wednesday as he continues to deal with a strained rotator cuff. He is questionable for Friday against the Rockets. Holiday had initially hoped to return by Wednesday.
Analysis: When Holiday does return, it will come off the bench in a limited role behind Allen Iverson. Fantasy owners should not rush to activate him even when he does return. He has long-term upside in Fantasy leagues, but he should not be counted on heavily in seasonal formats.
News: The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Sixers coach Eddie Jordan "thinks" rookie G Jrue Holiday (shoulder) will play Monday night against Detroit. He was ruled out for Monday night's game against Denver following Monday's morning shootaround.
Analysis: If Holiday does play, it will come off the bench in a limited role behind Allen Iverson. Fantasy owners should not rush to activate him even when he does return. He has long-term upside in Fantasy leagues, but he should not be counted on heavily in seasonal formats.
News: Sixers PG Jrue Holiday missed his second straight game with a strained right rotator cuff Monday against the Nuggets. He's day to day with the injury.
Analysis: Holiday, a rookie, won't have a starting job waiting for him now that the 76ers have acquired Allen Iverson. He'll get minimal numbers as a reserve and isn't worth owning outside of the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Jrue Holiday (shoulder) was ruled out for Monday night's game against Denver following Monday's morning shootaround. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: Holiday is not going through a good moment right now. The injury is enough to make him a player to sit for the upcoming scoring period, but the addition of Allen Iverson threatens to take much of his Fantasy appeal away.
News: Rookie guard Jrue Holiday missed Saturday's game against Charlotte after straining his right rotator cuff a day earlier in practice. Coach Eddie Jordan said Holiday was injured when he blocked teammate Willie Green's dunk attempt. "He's going to be evaluated day-to-day," Jordan said. Holiday was unable to lift his arm above his head Saturday morning and underwent an MRI, which revealed the strain.
Analysis: Holiday is not going through a good moment right now. The injury is enough to make him a risky play for the upcoming scoring period, but the addition of Allen Iverson threatens to take much of his Fantasy appeal away. The youngest player in the NBA, the 19-year-old Holiday had started the past five games since Louis Williams broke his jaw. He had a career-high 15 points in Wednesday's loss at Oklahoma City.

News:Allen Iverson is rejoining the Philadelphia 76ers. Sixers president Ed Stefanski announced the signing Wednesday on the team's Web site. Iverson is expected to make his debut Monday against the Denver Nuggets. Stefanski says in a news release that the team felt "Allen was the best available free agent guard to help" after the injury to Lou Williams, who will miss up to eight weeks. Iverson, his agent and business manager met with Stefanski, coach Eddie Jordan and two other members of the organization Monday. The 34-year-old Iverson announced his retirement last week after an ill-fated stint with the Memphis Grizzlies. The 10-time All-Star was NBA MVP in 2001 when he led the Sixers to the NBA finals.
Analysis: It might take Iverson some time to find his role with the Sixers, but he's expected to start at point guard ahead of rookie Jrue Holiday. Remember, this Sixers team is different than the one Iverson played for before going to Denver in 2006 with Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand the focal point of the offense. Still, it's hard to imagine Iverson not being a significant contributor on the offensive end, and he should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy guard once he starts playing Monday. We'll find out what happens once Williams returns, but Iverson should do well for the time being with Williams out.
News: 76ers guard Lou Williams will miss eight weeks after having surgery on his jaw Thursday morning. Williams broke his jaw in Philadelphia's loss to Washington on Tuesday night. His averages of 17.4 points and 5.1 assists are second-highest on the team behind Andre Iguodala. Rookie Jrue Holiday started at point guard in place of Williams against Boston in a 113-110 loss on Wednesday.
Analysis: Holiday had 11 points with 7 rebounds and an assist in just 10 minutes of action Wednesday night. He could be counted on to play big minutes in the absence of Williams and should be considered a nice sleeper addition off the waiver wire now that Williams will be out for two months.
News: The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Lou Williams will miss Wednesday's game at the Boston Celtics with a fracture in his jaw. He was elbowed Tuesday night and X-rays revealed a fracture. Jrue Holiday could see a boost in his absence.
Analysis: Williams is currently considered day to day, but this type of injury could keep him out a while -- even weeks. Keep a close eye on this situation as it develops. He is absolutely worth stashing in all leagues with the way he's played this season as a starter. Holiday had 11 points with 7 rebounds and an assist in just 10 minutes of action Wednesday night. He could be counted on to play big minutes in the absence of Williams and would be a nice sleeper addition off the waiver wire if that were the case.
News: Philadelphia PG Jrue Holiday scored in double figures for the first time in his NBA career on Tuesday against the Wizards. The rookie guard shot 4 of 6 from the field and 3 of 5 from long range over 10 minutes on the court to score 11 points. He also grabbed six rebounds and two steals and blocked a shot.
Analysis: Holiday was able to contribute quite a lot of Fantasy stats in just under 10 minutes on the court. He definitely showed some great upside with this game but until it becomes more consistent and has more minutes on the court behind it, he's only a low-end guy worth owning in keeper leagues.
News: Philadelphia rookie PG Jrue Holiday scored eight points on Monday in a loss to the Suns. Holiday shot 3 of 5 from the field and grabbed three rebounds with two steals over 15 minutes on the court.
Analysis: The rookie is only seeing just under 12 minutes per game in his two games played this season. He is putting up minimal numbers over that time but definitely shows potential. Until that turns into Fantasy production, however, leave him on waivers.
News: The Philadelphia 76ers have signed first-round draft pick, guard Jrue Holiday. Holiday, 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, was the 17th overall pick in the draft and was an early-entry candidate out of UCLA following his freshman season.
Analysis: Holiday averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists in his only season with the Bruins. He should expect to see instant playing time with the Sixers unlikely to re-sign starting point guard Andre Miller. Miller is an unrestricted free agent. Fantasy owners can think of him as a decent low-end flier, though inconsistency should be expected.
News: The Philadelphia 76ers selected point guard Jrue Holiday in Thursday's NBA Draft. He played two seasons for UCLA before declaring as an early-entry candidate for the draft.
Analysis: Holiday is currently slotted to be a backup, but he could wind up playing a big role if Andre Miller leaves the team. Holiday is more of a long-term keeper prospect in Fantasy, but will be worth monitoring as a potential pickup off the waiver wire.
