Williams headed to Hawks

News: According to multiple sources, the Hawks have agreed to trade Joe Johnson to the Nets in exchange for Jordan Farmar, Anthony Morrow, Jordan Williams and Johan Petro. The teams will also complete a sign-and-trade of DeShawn Stevenson, sending him to Atlanta along with the Brooklyn's 2013 lottery-protected pick via Houston.
Analysis: Williams will likely see time at center and power forward next season for the Hawks if the team decides to keep him, although he won't start at either position. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on how Atlanta plans on using the 21-year-old moving forward. However, unless he finds himself in a position where he will see consistent minutes, Williams won't have much Fantasy value heading into the 2012-13 campaign.

Williams back in action

News: Nets rookie forward Jordan Williams was able to get back on the court for Saturday night's contest against the Kings. Williams, who missed Friday's contest due to a concussion, finished with seven points and one rebound in 19 minutes off the bench in the 111-99 win.
Analysis: Williams is a rookie out of Maryland, who has yet to really make an impact this season. Leave the 21-year-old for long-term keeper formats at this point in the year.

Williams remains sidelined

News: Nets forward Jordan Williams was ruled inactive for Friday night's contest against the Warriors as he continues to deal with a concussion. There is no timetable for his return.
Analysis: Williams has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. Keep an eye on his progress, but he should not be used in the majority of leagues even if he plays against the Warriors.

Williams listed as doubtful

News: The Nets official team website reports that forward Jordan Williams is doubtful for Friday's game at Golden State. Williams is dealing with a mild concussion he sustained in Wednesday's game against the Pacers.
Analysis: Williams has minimal Fantasy value when healthy. Keep an eye on his progress, but he should not be used in the majority of leagues even if he plays against the Warriors.

J. Williams leaves game for Nets

News: New Jersey power forward Jordan Williams, a rookie, left Wednesday's game against the Pacers with concussion-like symptoms. Shelden Williams left earlier in the game after being poked in the eye. The rookie Williams played 18 minutes and went 3 of 4 from the field for six points. He grabbed four rebounds before leaving the game. Williams is day to day for the Nets going forward.
Analysis: Williams left with concussion-like symptoms so Fantasy owners will want to make sure this doesn't turn into an extended absence. Teams rarely mess with concussions. Williams stood to benefit if Shelden Williams missed any time, but that might not be the case if he's injured. Regardless, Williams has just low-end Fantasy value, when healthy.

Williams recalled by Nets

News: Nets rookie PF Jordan Williams was recalled from the D-League on Saturday. With both Mehmet Okur and Brook Lopez injured, the Nets needed to get stronger on the front line.
Analysis: Williams has been racking up experience playing with the Springfield Armor in the D-League. He's going to be bench fodder for the Nets. We don't believe he'll crack the rotation and has no Fantasy value at this time.

Williams banished to D-League

News: The Bergen Record reports the Nets assigned rookie forward Jordan Williams to Springfield of the NBDL on Wednesday.
Analysis: Williams appeared in only six games this season and was barely averaging over six minutes per game. Clearly, the Nets feel it will benefit him more to get time in the NBDL. Williams had no Fantasy value before his demotion, so continue to ignore him.

Williams could get on the floor Monday

News: Nets F Jordan Williams might be activated in time for Monday night's game against the Pacers. The second-round draft pick from Maryland has missed the first five games because of an assortment of problems, including being overweight and dehydrated. "I thought I could have been in much better shape," Williams said. "I could have prepared myself better. I wasn't sure (when the lockout) was going to end. I kept pushing it off, pushing it off. You can't really dwell on the past. You just have to move on and stay positive, be the best teammate I can and just keep working hard and get myself ready to play." The 6-foot-10 Williams led the ACC in rebounds (11.8 per game) and averaged nearly 17 points per game during his sophomore season at Maryland, then decided to turn pro.
Analysis: Williams will likely have tough time cracking the rotation even if he is activated for the game. He's nothing more than a reserve for the Nets, and will likely have no Fantasy value in his first season in the league.

Nets officially sign Williams

News: The Nets officially signed rookie Jordan Williams on Friday. Williams was the No. 36 pick in last year's draft. He averaged 16.8 points and 11.8 rebounds per game last season as a sophomore at Maryland.
Analysis: Williams should be able to land a roster spot coming out of camp, but will likely have tough time cracking the rotation even if he does. The 21-year-old is could be worth drafting with a late-round pick in dynasty/keeper leagues, although that will depend on how he does in training camp. Keep an eye on how the rookie fares over the next few weeks.

Nets draft Williams

News: The Nets ended their draft work Thursday by taking 6-10 forward Jordan Williams of Maryland with the No. 36 overall in the second round. Williams, who left school early anticipating that he would be a first-round selection, averaged 16.8 points and 11.8 rebounds per game last season as a sophomore for the Terrapins. He shot 53 percent from the floor, but only connected on 57 percent from the free throw line. "We needed to get a pure rebounder," GM Billy King said. "... We had to improve our rebounding and Williams helps."
Analysis: Williams will compete for a roster spot for the Nets, but he has minimal Fantasy value in seasonal leagues. He is worth drafting with a late-round pick in dynasty/keeper leagues if he can get consistent playing time, and he's worth a mid-round selection in rookie-only formats.
