Aldrich could join Kings Wednesday

News: The Sacramento Bee reports Tuesday that newly acquired center Cole Aldrich should join the team as soon as Wednesday. “He’s doing his final testing and should be joining us somewhere on this trip,” said Kings coach Keith Smart. Alrich's status for Wednesday's contest at Orlando is still uncertain.
Analysis: Aldrich was dealt just before Thursday's trade deadline and has not joined the team since the trade. He did not see the court as much with the Rockets, which suggests that his role will not change with the Kings. But we'll monitor his role with Sacramento just in case he sees a boost in his minutes. Aldrich should be ignored in all Fantasy formats for now.

Aldrich traded to Kings

News: Yahoo! Sports reports Wednesday that the Rockets have agreed to trade forward Patrick Patterson, center Cole Aldrich and guard Toney Douglas to the Kings in exchange for Thomas Robinson.
Analysis: The 24-year-old Aldrich didn't see many minutes with the Rockets as he was averaging just over seven per game. We doubt he'll see much of a boost with the Kings and has an expiring contract. Aldrich has minimal Fantasy value after the move.

Aldrich stuck on bench

News: Rockets center Cole Aldrich earned his eighth DNP - coach’s decision in 10 January games Saturday against the Timberwolves. Aldrich has played just five minutes total in January.
Analysis: Aldrich is a former lottery pick, but has never been able to show any of the abilities that earned him that lofty status. He has appeared in just 19 games this season, and should be ignored in all Fantasy formats.

Aldrich back in action

News: Houston center Cole Aldrich was back in action on Friday following an ankle injury. Aldrich played eight minutes in his return to the court and scored two points. Aldrich went 1 of 2 from the field and grabbed three rebounds with one assist and one blocked shot as the Rockets lost in San Antonio.
Analysis: Aldrich has played in nine games this season for Houston. He is healthy again, but averaging just 2.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 0.3 blocks per game, Aldrich really has extremely limited Fantasy value.

Aldrich ready to return

News: The Rockets announced Saturday that center Cole Aldrich had recovered from his ankle injury, and was available to play in the team’s game against the Thunder. Aldrich, who missed three games as a result of the injury, never ended up seeing the floor in the game despite being active.
Analysis: Aldrich has appeared in just eight games this season, and it does not look like he is going to be getting a consistently larger role moving forward. At this point, he is not worth owning in any Fantasy formats.

Aldrich remains out

News: Rockets center Cole Aldrich missed his second game in a row Friday against the Knicks, as he continues to deal with a sprained right ankle. He remains day to day as a result of the injury.
Analysis: Aldrich has played in eight games this season, averaging just 3.0 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.6 minutes. He is unlikely to see a significant role moving forward, even if he gets healthy, so Fantasy owners should continue ignoring him in all formats.

Aldrich sitting out for Rockets

News: Houston center Cole Aldrich missed the game Wednesday against Chicago as he continues to deal with an ankle issue, reports the Houston Chronicle. Aldrich was hurt Monday and is not yet ready to return.
Analysis: Aldrich sees very limited minutes for the Rockets and is averaging under 10 per game. With that kind of time restriction he has little Fantasy value even when healthy.

News: Houston center Cole Aldrich had to leave Monday's game at Utah after suffering a right ankle sprain, reports the Houston Chronicle. Aldrich played just two minutes before leaving and did not score. He had one rebound and is day to day.
Analysis: Aldrich sees very limited minutes for the Rockets and is averaging under 10 per game. With that kind of time restriction he has little Fantasy value even when healthy.

Aldrich sent to Houston in mega deal

News: The Thunder have have traded forward Cole Aldrich, James Harden, Daequan Cook and Lazar Hayward to the Rockets for guard Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and two 2013 first-round picks (from Dallas and Toronto) on Saturday, according to the league.
Analysis: Aldrich did not see much playing time with the Thunder, averaging just 6.7 minutes per game last season. He may be lost in the shuffle and will likely be one of the reserve forwards in Houston. Aldrich averaged just 2.2 points per game last season and should be ignored in all formats come Draft Day.

Aldrich makes rare impact

News: Thunder center Cole Aldrich was able to make an impact during Saturday night's contest against the Hawks. Aldrich finished with six points and seven rebounds in the 97-90 victroy, on 1 of 5 shooting from the field. He went a perfect 4 for 4 from the free-throw line and also added three blocks to his stat line, while logging 14 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Aldrich saw some rare run on Saturday night, but that was because Kendrick Perkins was in foul trouble. Unfortunately, that is the only time the 23-year-old usually finds himself on the floor for Oklahoma City, so Fantasy owners should continue to ignore Aldrich in the majority of formats at this point in the season.

Aldrich sees extended PT

News: Thunder center Cole Aldrich saw his most extensive playing time of the year on Friday night against the Warriors. With Kendrick Perkins out, he played 21 minutes and finished with two points and three rebounds in the 110-87 win. He missed both of his shots from the floor but went a perfect 2 for 2 from the charity stripe. Aldrich also chipped in with an assist, a steal and a block in the victory.
Analysis: Aldrich has not seen a ton of playing time during his young career and is still more of a developmental player at age 23. If even he sees some more run while Perkins is out, continue to ignore Aldrich in all Fantasy formats.

Aldrich doing little for Thunder

News: Thunder C Cole Aldrich played in his fourth game of the season on Friday against the Rockets but was not able to contribute much. He finished with zero stats while playing two minutes in the 109-94 win.
Analysis: Aldrich has scored two points with three rebounds in 17 minutes thus far and poses minimal Fantasy value at this point. While his role will likely grow if an injury were to occur, leave Aldrich on waivers in the majority of Fantasy formats for now.

Aldrich staying with Thunder

News: The Thunder have picked up the option year on the contracts of Serge Ibaka, James Harden, Eric Maynor, Byron Mullens and Cole Aldrich, keeping them all with the franchise for two more seasons. GM Sam Presti announced the moves Tuesday, extending the contracts through the 2012-13 season. For Aldrich, who was a rookie last season, the option is for the third year on his contract.
Analysis: Aldrich has minimal Fantasy value heading into 2011-12. Ignore him in all leagues on Draft Day.

Cole Aldrich

Aldrich sent to D-League

News: The Oklahoman reports that Thunder rookie center Cole Aldrich has been assigned to the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League for a third time this season. During his two earlier assignments with the 66ers, Aldrich appeared in 19 games (19 starts) and averaged 10.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocked shots in 29.2 minutes. Aldrich has recorded four double-doubles with Tulsa and the 66ers own a 15-4 mark this season with him in the lineup.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in standard leagues can release Aldrich for this season, and he should only be owned in deep keeper leagues heading into 2011-12.

Aldrich available for Thunder

News: Thunder C Cole Aldrich was available for Wednesday's game against Houston, but did not see action. Aldrich could play at any moment for the Thunder but has not played since early November and saw some time in the NBDL.
Analysis: Aldrich has some potential, but he clearly doesn't have an important spot in the rotation as he has not played in the NBA since Nov. 10. The rookie hasn't been able to carve out any playing time yet, so it is best for owners to leave him on waivers in most Fantasy leagues injured or not.

Analysis: Aldrich has some upside, but he clearly didn't have an important spot in the rotation and wasn't ready to make a Fantasy impact before leaving and we don't expect that to really change now. You can leave him on waivers.

Aldrich ready to go in opener

News: Thunder C Cole Aldrich, who was dealing with a shoulder injury at the end of the preseason, will play Wednesday against the Bulls, according to the Oklahoman.
Analysis: Aldrich has some upside, but Nenad Krstic and Serge Ibaka are battling for playing time in front of him. He'll likely play a minimal role off the bench to begin the season, so you can leave him on waivers.
