Cole Aldrich steps up in rare start

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/13/2014) Knicks center Cole Aldrich acquitted himself very well in his first career start Wednesday, in a 116-92 win over the Celtics.

Aldrich recorded just the third double-double of his career, and he did so in just 25 minutes of action. He scored 12 points on 4 of 5 shooting and snagged 10 rebounds, while blocking three shots as well.

Aldrich was only starting because Amar'e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler were both out. Neither is expected to remain sidelined long, however, so Aldrich should return to his reserve role before long. He has appeared in exactly half of the team's games this season.

Cole Aldrich gets the start Wednesday

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/12/2014) With Tyson Chandler and Amar'e Stoudemire sitting out Wednesday's game against the Celtics, the Knicks will be forced to turn to a little-used reserve to start at center. Cole Aldrich will start the first game of his career Wednesday, though he will likely return to a backup role shortly, with Stoudemire expected back in time for the team's next game.

Aldrich has appeared in just 31 games, averaging 0.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 4.5 minutes per game this season.

Knicks recall three from D-League

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(1/30/2014) The Knicks have announced several roster moves on Thursday, NBA.com reports. They have recalled guard Toure' Murry, and centers Cole Aldrich and Jeremy Tyler from the Erie BayHawks of the D-League.

Cole Aldrich plays season-high nine minutes in loss

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(11/10/2013) Knicks center Cole Aldrich played a season-high nine minutes in his team's 120-89 loss to the Spurs Sunday, scoring two points on 1 of 2 shooting.

Aldrich, who is expected to see an increase of playing time with Tyson Chandler out, made his first mark on the scoreboard after playing just one minute Friday. He added seven rebounds and three assists in the loss.

Cole Aldrich should see some minutes

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(11/7/2013) Knicks center Cole Aldrich should be expecting to see some run with Tyson Chandler out, SNY.com reports Thursday.

"He's gotta be ready to play," coach Mike Woodson said.

Aldrich has yet to see any playing time this season for New York.

Cole Aldrich lacking toughness in camp

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/13/2013) Knicks center Cole Aldrich has to prove himself in training camp to earn a spot on the Knicks' roster, and so far it looks like he hasn't put the work in. According to the New York Post, Knicks coach Mike Woodson called Aldrich out for not playing with enough energy or toughness when he gets playing time in the preseason.

Aldrich has appeared in all three preseason games off the bench, and is averaging 1.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

Aldrich could join Kings Wednesday

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(2/26/2013) The Sacramento Bee reports Tuesday that newly acquired center Cole Aldrich should join the team as soon as Wednesday. “He’s doing his final testing and should be joining us somewhere on this trip,” said Kings coach Keith Smart. Alrich's status for Wednesday's contest at Orlando is still uncertain.
