(5/22/2015) Jazz forward Gordon Hayward underwent a minor surgical procedure on his right heel last week, the team announced Friday.

Hayward missed the last three games of the season with a sore Achilles.

(4/16/2015) Jazz forward Gordon Hayward spoke to reporters Thursday and said making the playoffs next season is the team's main goal, reports the Salt Lake Tribune.

"The experience we're getting as a group is happening along the way," Hayward said. "Just because we played well after the All-Star break, nobody is going to be satisfied with that."

Hayward feels he can still grow as a player and he credits coach Quin Snyder with improving his mid-range game and reading pick and rolls, while making the game easier to play.

"I feel like there's still a lot of room for me to improve," he said. "I'll take a month off and get right to it."


Jazz's Burke, Favors will play Wednesday: Gordon Hayward out

(4/15/2015) Jazz guard Trey Burke has been cleared to play in Wednesday's game at Houston, reports the team's radio play-by-play announcer.

Burke has missed the last three games with a sore back. After sitting out the last two games to rest, forward Derrick Favors will also play.

Meanwhile, forward Gordon Hayward has been ruled out of the game. It will be the third-straight game Hayward has missed because of a sore Achilles.

The Jazz are 11 1/2-point underdogs.

(4/13/2015) Jazz coach Quin Snyder said forward Gordon Hayward (Achilles) may miss the final game of the season, per NBA.com. 

Hayward is sitting out Monday's game against the Mavericks and skipped Saturday's win in Portland with soreness in his Achilles tendon.

"We've maintained all along that we're trying to do what's right for every player in every situation," Snyder said. 

Hayward is averaging 19.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season.

(4/9/2015) While the Jazz have started to limit forward Gordon Hayward's minutes over the last two games, the team has no plans to hold him out of the final four games of the season, reports the Salt Lake Tribune.

"Definitely a little banged up," Hayward said earlier this week. "But I think all of us are at this point."

Hayward has played 20 minutes in each of the last two games after more than 34 minutes per games in 75 games this season. Guard Rodney Hood has seen his production increase over the last two games with Hayward receiving less minutes.

Hayward's 13 free-throw attempts match his highest total since late November, while he came close to taking less than 10 shots for what would have been the fourth time this season. He matched a season-high with four steals while racking up five rebounds, five assists and one block in the win.
