News: Hornets guard Xavier Henry played just three minutes off the bench Friday against the Hawks, bringing an end to one of his most extensive runs of playing time. Prior to Henrys scoreless, stat-less night Friday, he had played a total of 71 minutes over his previous four games, an average of 17.8 per game. He averages just 12.6 per game for the season.
Analysis: Henry saw a slight uptick in his role over the previous few games, but he did not do much with it; he averaged just 4.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game over that four-game stretch. Henry is averaging just 3.9 points per game on the season, and should be ignored in just about all Fantasy formats.
News: After being held scoreless his last time out, Hornets guard Xavier Henry earned a DNP - coachs decision Sunday against the Grizzlies, his second in the last four games. Henry has played in just seven games in January.
Analysis: Henry is stuck at the back end of the team's rotation and is only on the court during garbage time now that the Hornets are back to full strength. He is averaging just 3.8 points per game and is a marginal contributor, when active. Continue to ignore him in all Fantasy formats moving forward.
News: Hornets guard Xavier Henry played just five minutes off the bench Friday against the Timberwolves, his first appearance in seven games. Henry did not attempt a shot in the game, while grabbing one rebound and one assist in a 104-92 win.
Analysis: Henry has reached the point where he plays just in garbage time, as the Hornets have gotten healthy. Henry is averaging just 4.0 points per game on the season, and can be ignored in all Fantasy formats.
News: Hornets forward Xavier Henry made his first start of the season in Friday's contest against the Grizzlies. Henry, who started in place of Al-Farquoq Aminu, finished with a season-high 12 points in the 96-89 defeat. He made four of six field-goal attempts and also added three rebounds and one steal to his stat line while logging 21 minutes of game action.
Analysis: It sounds like coach Monty Williams has run out of patience with Aminu and is ready to make a long-term change in the starting lineup. However, it remains to be seen whether Henry will take over Aminu's spot or if Williams will try out a few players in that spot. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on how things play out over the next few days. Obviously, Hnery would be in line to see a boost in production if he starts seeing starter minutes.
News: The Hornets announced Friday that guard Xavier Henry underwent surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee. General manager Dell Demps told the New Orleans Times-Picayune, that Henry is expected to be ready in time for the beginning of training camp, in September.
Analysis: Henry appeared in 45 games for the Hornets last season, starting none, and averaged 5.3 points per game. The 2010 lottery pick has disappointed so far in his career, but with the Hornets rebuilding and looking to give younger players a shot this season, he might be looking at an increased role. The Hornets believe he will be ready to contribute by the time the season begins, however he is not worth targeting in any Fantasy formats on Draft Day.
News: The New Orleans Hornets sent guard Xavier Henry to the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League on Sunday. Henry played 14 minutes and scored four points and grabbed two rebounds during Saturday's victory over New Jersey.
Analysis: With Eric Gordon reportedly nearing a return to action, it's possible Henry could stay with Iowa for the foreseeable future. He has appeared in 24 games with the Hornets this season and is averaging 5.0 points. He should remain on waivers in all Fantasy formats.
News: Hornets guard Xavier Henry scored 13 of his career-high 19 points in the first half on Friday night against the Mavericks. He shot 8 for 12 from the floor, nailing his lone attempt from downtown, and both his foul shots. Henry added two assists, two steals and four boards in New Orleans' 97-92 win.
Analysis: Henry has stepped up for the Hornets at times this year, but gets inconsistent minutes. He's scored in double digits in two of his three since the All-Star break; the other game he got just six minutes of action. With the Hornets banged up, Henry has been getting more run, but it is unclear how he fits into the future of the team. For now, Fantasy owners can leave Henry on waivers, but he's probably worth scouting in deeper category-based formats.
News: New Orleans guard Xavier Henry gave his team a boost off the bench on Tuesday night in Chicago. Henry scored a season-high 12 points in his 18 minutes of action. He didn't shoot particularly well, going 3 for 10 from the field, but did convert 6 of his 7 foul shots. Henry added six rebounds and a steal for the Hornets. Unfortunately his best game of the year would come in a losing effort as the Bulls would win the game, 99-95.
Analysis: Henry has been getting more run lately for the Hornets, averaging around 13 minutes of action over his last five games. He's averaging 5.0 points and 2.8 boards over that span as well, but is shooting a dismal 29.2 percent from the field. He was hampered by a knee injury earlier in the season and is still finding his niche with the team. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore Henry moving forward, despite his nice outing.
News: Hornets G Xavier Henry was once again not much of a factor during Monday night's contest against the Heat. Henry finished with just three points in the 109-95 defeat, on 1 of 4 shooting from the field. His lone basketball came from behind the arc and also added two rebounds and one assist, while logging 15 minutes off the bench.
Analysis: Henry has yet to make an impact for the Hornets since returning from his knee injury. He is seeing just 11 minutes per night over his last five, and is averaging just 3.0 points over that stretch. Unless he starts to see a major increase in production or minutes, owners should continue to ignore the 20-year-old in all formats moving forward.
News: Hornets guard Xavier Henry made his debut on Wednesday against the Thunder. He got 13 minutes off the bench and shot 1 for 5 from the field. Henry hit one foul shot, finishing with three points. He added one assist in his team's 101-91 loss to Oklahoma City.
Analysis: Henry, who was acquired in a three-team deal from Memphis this season, had been dealing with an ankle issue. Now that he's healthy, Henry could carve out some more minutes in New Orleans. While he has a ton of upside, Henry has to prove himself before Fantasy owners should start adding him in deeper formats. It'd be wise to scout him to see how he factors into the Hornets' plans.
News: Hornets G Xavier Henry was ruled active for the first time this season for Monday night's contest against the Spurs, but did not play in the 104-102 victory. He earned a DNP--coach's decision on the box score.
Analysis: Henry failed to make an appearance in Monday night's contest, but is finally healthy enough to take the floor. While the 20-year-old has a ton of upside, he really shouldn't warrant too much attention until he proves to be healthy and productive.
News: Hornets coach Monty Williams said G Xavier Henry would receive some playing time during Monday's game against San Antonio, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Henry, who was traded to the Hornets on Jan. 4, has yet to play a game this season while recovering from an ankle injury.
Analysis: Williams said he envisions Henry playing a key role in the team's offense and could slide between two positions, including small forward. The 20-year-old Henry remains inexperienced and drained 40 percent of his shot last year during his rookie season. Fantasy owners should track his progress as he could make for a possible addition in deeper formats if he gets off to a strong start.
News: New Orleans coach Monty Williams said Hornets G Xavier Henry might return to action as early as next week, according to the team's official website. Henry was yet to play this season as he continues to recover from an ankle injury. "Theres a great chance well see him next week," Williams said. "He continues to progress. We dont want to just put him on the floor just to get a look at him; we think he can help us."
News:The Times Picayune reports Xavier Henry, who has yet to make his Hornets debut because of torn ligaments in his ankle, is about a week away from seeing action, according to head coach Monty Williams. Henry is participating in shootarounds and practices. I still think hes a week away, Williams said. To put a guy out there that has not gone through camp, you are asking for another injury.
Analysis: Henry played in only 38 games as a rookie in 2010-11 for Memphis, averaging 4.3 points per game. He has a long ways to go to becoming a viable Fantasy option, so just track his progress once he debuts for the Hornets. The 20-year-old guard has a lot of potential, but he needs to show it first.
News: Newly acquired Hornets G Xavier Henry said he is hoping to return to game action by the end of the month, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Henry, who was acquired in a three-team deal from Memphis on Wednesday, is currently recovering from a troublesome right ankle sprain. "I think Ill definitely be out there in the next two weeks," Henry said. "I have a good estimation of about 10 days maybe, but Id say in the next two weeks Ill be out there playing."
Analysis: Hornets coach Monty Williams said he envisions Henry playing a key role in the team's offense and could slide between two positions, including shooting guard. "Xavier is a guy who, when hes healthy, is going to play for us because he can do a number of things on the floor," Williams told the Times-Picayune. Xavier, 20, appeared in 38 games with the Grizzlies as a rookie last season and averaged 4.3 points per game. He is a solid shooter and should be considered a possible addition in deeper Fantasy formats when healthy.
News: Philadelphia, Memphis and New Orleans agreed on a multi-player trade Wednesday that will help provide depth to the Grizzlies frontcourt. The 76ers are sending F Marreese Speights to Memphis, the Grizzlies will move G Xavier Henry to New Orleans and the Grizzlies and Hornets each will send a second-round draft pick to Philadelphia. The deal was first reported by ESPN.com on Wednesday morning.
Analysis: Henry has missed the start of the season with torn ligaments in his right ankle and is expected to return during the middle of the month. He has struggled to find a spot in Memphis' rotation with O.J. Mayo and Tony Allen getting the bulk of minutes in front of him. The 20-year-old showed promise during his rookie campaign last year and connected on 41 percent of his field-goal attempts while appearing in 38 games. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his injury status as he could make for a possible addition in deeper Fantasy formats.
News: According to ESPN.com, the Memphis Grizzlies are close to acquiring F Marreese Speights from Philadelphia in a three-team deal with New Orleans. In the proposed deal, Speights would head to Memphis, G Xavier Henry to New Orleans and the Hornets would give Philadelphia two future second-round draft picks. The trade is pending a physical as Henry has missed the start of the season with torn ligaments in his right ankle.
Analysis: Henry hasn't been able to find a spot in Memphis' rotation with O.J. Mayo and Tony Allen getting the bulk of minutes in front of him. But the Hornets, a team in search of young talent, could be a good fit for him. The 20-year-old showed promise during his rookie campaign last year and connected on 41 percent of his field-goal attempts while appearing in 38 games. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor his injury status as he could make for a possible addition in deeper Fantasy formats when healthy.
News: Grizzlies G Xavier Henry is expected to miss a month of playing time with torn ligaments in his right ankle, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal. Henry, who missed most of his rookie season due to knee problems, was on crutches and in a walking boot Tuesday.
Analysis: This is certainly a tough blow for Henry, who will not be ready for the start of the upcoming season. He had surgery on the injured ankle and missed the Grizzlies' playoff run. The 20-year-old showed promise during his rookie campaign last year and connected on .406 percent of his field-goal attempts while appearing in 38 games. With the latest setback, Fantasy owners should not consider him a worthwhile option in 2011-12 drafts.
News: Memphis guard Xavier Henry missed most of his rookie season due to knee problems and is out for the playoffs, according to NBCSports.com. He tried to avoid surgery and rehab his right knee, but to no avail. His injury requires surgery, putting an end to his rookie campaign. Henry averaged just 4.3 points and 1.0 rebound per contest in the 38 games he took the court. "I'm having to become more mentally tough," he told The Memphis Commercial Appeal. "Because of the injury to my knee, I know I've got to work harder to get back. I know God will heal me." Mike Conley, the Grizzlies' starting point guard, said Henry has handled his rookie year with grace. "He keeps that same smile on his face. He is always 'Yes, sir,' 'No, sir,' to the coaches. I think that shows a lot of character and maturity for a young fellow."
Analysis: Henry got some starts for the Grizzlies as they tweaked the lineup during the season. The former Kansas Jayhawk has plenty of potential. His next step is completing the rehabilitation on his knee and showing Memphis, and Fantasy owners he has what it takes to be a contributor in the NBA. The roster might change between now and the start of next season, but Henry will have a chance to stake a claim for playing time. Heading into the 2011-12 season, Fantasy owners should view him as a late-round flier in deeper leagues.
News: The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that Xavier Henry will not have surgery on his injured right knee after receiving a second opinion from a doctor. Henry will instead rehab and is slated to be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Analysis: It was reported on Friday that doctors found a condition in Henry's chronically sore right knee that could require surgery. That would have put an end to his season, though being out for at least another month could mean the end of his season anyway. Henry averaged 4.3 points and 1.0 rebound in 38 appearances this season and has been a non factor in Fantasy.
News: Grizzlies guard Xavier Henry is still waiting to hear from doctors whether he'll have to have surgery. News: Memphis guard Xavier Henry missed Wednesday's game in Minnesota due to a sore knee, reports the Memphis Commercial Appeal. Henry is day to day for the Grizzlies. He has played in eight of the team's previous 10 games.
Analysis: Henry is averaging less than a point per game over his last eight contests over just 3.6 minutes per game. That sounds to us like a player who is not viable in any Fantasy leagues at the moment, healthy or not.
News: According to the Memphis Commercial-Appeal, Grizzlies guard Xavier Henry is available and ready to play, but when that will be remains a mystery. The rookie missed 15 straight games with a sore knee, and coach Lionel Hollins said Henry has to work on his conditioning and show his coach he's ready to contribute. "When there's an opportunity to put him in the game or a need to put him in the game, he'll go in the game," Hollins said. "But I'm not really thinking about working him back in. What happens when you get hurt, the team keeps evolving and moving to its level. When that happens, you sometimes get left behind when you're not in the mix." Henry said he will be patient for his next opportunity. "Once I get back on the court everything will sort itself out," Henry said. "We're on a roll now and hopefully I can help it."
Analysis: Henry may get a few chances by default now with O.J. Mayo receiving a suspension from the NBA, but the rookie has a way to go to be considered a relevant Fantasy option. Henry started some games this year, but hasn't played in a game since Dec. 26. Henry was never diagnosed with a specific injury, but was treated for an array of things over the past month. Not being healthy enough to take the court makes Henry's Fantasy value even lower. Owners should continue to ignore Henry in the majority of formats.
News: Memphis guard Xavier Henry was active for Friday's game against Houston, but he remained inactive. He's missed the last 12 games with a sore right knee, but has been officially taken off the team's injury report, according to NBA.com.
Analysis: Henry is averaging 5.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per game this year. The rookie has started 16 games and doesn't do much with his playing time. News: Memphis guard Xavier Henry missed his second consecutive game with a sore knee in the Grizzlies' loss at Sacramento on Wednesday night. Henry also sat out Memphis' game against Toronto on Monday and is considered day-to-day.

News: Memphis was forced to start Sam Young on Monday against Toronto because starter Xavier Henry missed the game with a sore knee. Henry is considered day to day for the Grizzlies.
Analysis: Henry last played Sunday and scored just five points over 15 minutes. He gets 17.4 minutes per game and starts for the Grizzlies. Clearly, he has only very low-end Fantasy value, when healthy.

News: Memphis guard Xavier Henry made his fifth consecutive start and scored 12 points in Tuesday's 98-96 win over the Lakers. Henry was 6 of 11 from the floor and saw 26 minutes of action. He also added an assist.
Analysis: Henry has been starting in place of O.J. Mayo the past five games, but is only averaging 7 points and 1.2 assists over that stretch. He's not getting a ton of minutes despite starting, so it's unclear how productive the rookie will be as a stater. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on him moving forward, but he is not producing enough right now to be used in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News: Memphis guard Xavier Henry scored just two points on Wednesday night against Detroit, getting his second straight start in place of O.J. Mayo. He missed both foul shots, but hit his lone field-goal attempt. He would grab one rebound and collect four personal fouls in his 12 minutes of action. He did not contribute much in the Grizzlies 105-84 victory. Coach Lionel Hollins told the Commercial Appeal that Mayo coming off the bench is to provide a "scoring punch". Hollins added Henry would be in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future, but the move isn't permanent. "It's difficult when you make these kinds of decisions because everybody reads more into it than they should," Hollins said. "I had a long talk with O.J. He's fine and he'll do well."
Analysis: Henry got the start over Mayo on Saturday after he was late to the team's shootaround. Henry only scored six points in that start and didn't do much better with this opportunity. He's not getting a ton of minutes despite starting, so it's unclear how productive the rookie will be as a stater. Fantasy owners should monitor this situation moving forward, but for now Henry is just a reserve player in the deepest of Fantasy leagues.
News: According to the Commercial Appeal, Memphis coach Lionel Hollins said O.J. Mayo will come off the bench on Wednesday, giving rookie Xavier Henry the start for a second straight game.
Analysis: Henry started on Saturday for Mayo, but that was because he was late to a team shootaround. It's unclear why Mayo was coming off the bench again. He scored just six points in 26 minutes in last game. For now Fantasy owners should still view Henry as a role player worth looking at in deeper leagues.
News: Memphis rookie guard Xavier Henry got the first start of his NBA career on Saturday night against Miami. He got the nod over O.J. Mayo, who was benched to start the game for showing up late to a team shootaround. Henry wasn't much of a factor though as he struggled to find a groove. He shot 1 for 9 from the field, missing both 3-point attempts, and going 4-for-4 from the charity stripe. He finished with six points, two rebounds and three assists in 26 minutes of action.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should not worry about Henry taking any minutes from Mayo in the future. He's just a role player off the bench and can be ignored in the majority of Fantasy leagues at this time. If anything happens to Mayo down the road, Henry would be worth a look in deeper leagues.
News: Memphis guard Xavier Henry was on the floor for just 13 minutes on Monday against the Orlando Magic. Henry scored two points on 1 of 3 shooting and missed his only 3-point attempt.
Analysis: Henry didn't get a rebound or an assist in the Monday game against Orlando. He came into the game averaging just 6.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game over 14.4 minutes. Until Henry sees much more time on the court, his Fantasy value will remain low-end to non-existent.
News: Memphis guard Xavier Henry dropped 14 points on the Suns Monday night over 25 minutes on the floor. Henry, who is only averaging 16 minutes per game over his last five including Monday, shot 4 of 9 from the field and added two steals.
Analysis: Henry has definitely shown an ability to put the ball in the hoop but it hasn't translated into solid Fantasy production. That is because the Grizzlies aren't giving him big minutes and because he's not contributing in many other areas.
News: Grizzlies G Xavier Henry (neck) returned to action on Tuesday night at the Lakers. He played 12 minutes off the bench and finished with 10 points and three rebounds. He was hurt in Friday's game against Dallas when he ran into a hard screen set by Mavericks C Brendan Haywood.
Analysis: The rookie is only looking at around 10-15 minutes per game at the moment when healthy and is not considered a viable Fantasy option as a result. He will find it hard to score 10 points on a consistent basis with that type of playing time. Until his situation changes, he should not be owned outside of keeper formats.
News: The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that Grizzlies rookie Xavier Henry was made inactive for Saturday's game due to a strained neck. He was hurt in Friday's game against Dallas when he ran into a hard screen set by Mavericks C Brendan Haywood.
Analysis: Henry is considered day to day. The rookie is only looking at around 10-15 minutes per game at the moment when healthy and is not considered a viable Fantasy option as a result. Until his situation changes, he should not be owned outside of keeper formats.
News: Rrookie guard Xavier Henry scored 15 points to help the Memphis Grizzlies remain unbeaten in the preseason with a 96-91 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Monday night. Henry scored 14 points in the second half and sparked the Grizzlies in the final quarter. Henry's previous high had been nine points against Milwaukee on Saturday. "I'm getting more comfortable in the system," Henry said. "I knew I'd eventually loosen up and start playing the game instead of thinking the game." Henry spent one year at Kansas before being taken as the 12th overall pick by the Grizzlies in the NBA Draft. "He's a scorer," coach Lionel Hollins said of Henry. "That's what he is. I thought he played well overall. He made some hustle plays, got a couple of rebounds (and) made some plays on the break."
Analysis: Henry has shown the ability to have a bright future in the NBA but things won't come so easy in the regular season. He will definitely have some ups but there may be too many downs and little playing time for his Fantasy value to get to ownership levels. Henry may have a few good outings for Memphis this year, but as a rookie probably won't be a major contributor. He is more of a long-term keeper prospect and doesn't have much value in seasonal leagues.
News: Memphis rookie guard Xavier Henry was in the starting lineup on Saturday against New Orleans, but did contribute too much for the Grizzlies. In just over 21 minutes of play, Henry went 2 for 6 from the field and hit all three of his foul shots for a total of seven points. He added one rebound, one steal and one block.
Analysis: Henry took a while to sign with the Grizzlies and his starting this preseason game should be viewed as him just getting used to his teammates. He may have a few good outings for Memphis this year, but as a rookie probably won't be a major contributor. He is more of a long-term keeper prospect and doesn't have much value in seasonal leagues.
