Avery Bradley 'good to go' for Celtics' Game 1

(4/17/2015) Celtics guard Avery Bradley is "good to go" for the team's playoff opener at the Cavaliers, according to MassLive.com.

Bradley missed the last game of the regular season with a quad injury and was originally listed as questionable for Game 1.

(4/15/2015) The Celtics will be without guards Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley for Wednesday's game at Milwaukee, the team announced.

While Thomas is out due to rest, Bradley is suffering from a quad injury he suffered during Tuesday's contest. Luigi Datome will start in place of Bradley. Despite missing the game becuase of the injury, coach Brad Stevens said he expects Bradley to be ready for the playoffs, reports Masslive.com.

"He was a little sore today as to be expected," Stevens said, "but all indications are that he should be good to go when the time comes."

The Celtics are 6-point underdogs.

Celtics general manager Danny Ainge likes Bradley's ability to defend and hit the 3-point shot and considers him a part of the future.

In 70 games, Bradley is averaging 14.1 points and 3.1 rebounds.

(3/30/2015) Guard Avery Bradley notched a game-best 30 points, his most since Nov. 3, to push the Celtics past the Hornets on Monday, 116-104.

Bradley scored 15 of his 30 points in the third quarter and led the Celtics with eight rebounds in the victory.

''Avery was terrific on both ends of the floor,'' said Celtics coach Brad Stevens.

Bradley also pulled down 10 rebounds, leading to his first double-double of the season. It was just his second career double-double in his fifth season. Bradley also dished out six assists and added two steals to his totals.


Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas might be out another week

(3/12/2015) Guard Isaiah Thomas could miss another week as he recovers from back and elbow injuries he suffered after taking a hard foul, Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said during a radio interview with WEEI.

"It's pretty bad, pretty swollen on both sides of his lower back and his elbow," Ainge said of Thomas' ailments.

Thomas is targeting Monday's game as a possible return. Thomas had scored at least 20 points in the Celtics' last four games before being injured. Guards Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley may see more time in his absence.

Bradley did not travel to New Orleans for Friday night's game. He's nursing a sprained left elbow that was sustained Wednesday against the Jazz. 

With Bradley out for Friday's game, the Celtics are going with Jae Crowder in the starting lineup. According to The Boston Globe, Stevens said he's going with Crowder over Isaiah Thomas because he doesn't want to disrupt Thomas' rhythm off the bench.

Bradley sprained his left elbow during Wednesday’s contest, but he was able to play 36 minutes and score 13 points. Isaiah Thomas will see an increase in minutes while Bradley remains sidelined during Boston's road trip.

"He had a badly sprained left elbow," Stevens said. "He hyperextended it."

(2/23/2015) Celtics guard Avery Bradley scored a team-high 23 points on Monday against the Suns.

Bradley shot 8-14 from the field, including 3-4 from beyond the arc. He sunk all four of his free throws during the contest. Bradley also added six steals and four rebounds. 

Bradley has also shown improvement on the defensive end lately, and credited that change to watching more film. "I wanted to become a better team defensive player and I really feel like I'm improving because I watch film," he said. 

His recent play has definitely stood out with his teammates. "He's the one leading by example," forward Jae Crowder said.

Bradley saw a team-high 41 minutes in the loss, racking up six assists, four steals, three rebounds and one block. His playing time, along with that of Marcus Smart and Evan Turner, is in flux with Isaiah Thomas about to join the equation.

The Celtics will square off with the Lakers in Los Angeles Sunday.

(2/3/2015) Celtics shoowing guard Avery Bradley scored a team-high 26 points on 11 of 14 shooting, including 3 of 5 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 108-97 win over the Knicks Tuesday.

Despite dealing with a fractured left thumb, Bradley delivered one of the best shooting performances of his career Tuesday, topping 75 percent from the field while taking at least 10 shots for the first time since going 9-for-11 in Nov. 2013.

"It obviously didn't affect him today," coach Brad Stevens said of the thumb injury after the game. "He was smoking from everywhere."

The 26 points represented Bradley's highest scoring total since racking up 32 points in the third game of the season. He also kicked in four assists, one rebound and one steal in 33 minutes in the win. The Celtics will square off with the Nuggets Wednesday.

"It's not my shooting hand," Bradley said.

Despite the injury, Bradley played 33 minutes and scored 17 points on 8 of 15 shooting in the loss. In 44 games, Bradley is averaging 13.0 points and 2.6 rebounds. The Celtics next play Tuesday at New York.

''I was able to make some shots because my teammates were able to get me open,'' Bradley said after the game, per the Associated Press. ''We were able to execute. I felt like we were able to get stops at the other end. We forced them to take tough shots and we were able to convert on the other end.''

Bradley matched a season high with four turnovers but still posted an efficient scoring effort to help lead the team to wins in both legs of a set of road back-to-back games, scoring 18 points in each. He also delivered six rebounds and one assist in 30 minutes Friday. The Celtics will face the Warriors Sunday.

It was Bradley's second highest scoring output of the season, which included a game-tying 3-pointer to send the game to overtime with four seconds left in regulation.
