Spurs rest four against Rockets

(4/14/2014) With the top seed in the conference already clinched, the Spurs will rest Patty Mills, Danny Green, Tiago Splitter and Kawhi Leonard Monday night against the Rockets, the San Antonio News-Express reports. The team will start the following players for the penultimate game of the season: Tony Parker, Marco Belinelli, Damion James, Tim Duncan and Aaron Baynes.

(4/2/2014) The Spurs will sign forward Damion James to a 10-day contract Wednesday, as first reported by ESPN.com. James has spent the season playing in the D-League, splitting his time between the Texas Legends and Bakersfield Jam.

James as appeared in just 34 games over three seasons since being a first-round pick by the Nets in 2010.

(4/4/2011) Nets F Damion James, who has missed the past seven games with a soreness in his right foot, may end up missing the rest of the season, reports the Newark Star Ledger. Coach Avery Johnson said on Monday it is “becoming highly unlikely” that James will be back before the April 13 season finale at Chicago. “To bring him back with one game left in the season, or two — we’re not sure what’s the benefit of that,” Johnson said. Johnson then went on to say that Friday's contest against the Knicks would be the target game for James to return. “If they’re not back by Friday, then we’ll have to take a long look at not bringing them back,” he said.
