Pittman looking for work

News: The Grizzlies released center Dexter Pittman on Sunday, the team announced. Pittman averaged just 0.3 points and 0.7 rebounds in seven appearances with Memphis.
Analysis: Pittman was with the Heat earlier in the season before being traded to Memphis, but will now be looking for work again. However, the 25-year-old has yet to prove he can produce at this level, so we don't anticipate him having much Fantasy value heading into the 2013-14 campaign.

Heat give up on Pittman

News: The Heat have agreed to send seldom-used center Dexter Pittman and a second-round pick to Memphis for a trade exception, according to CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger. Pittman, drafted in the second round in 2010 by the Heat, has played sparingly in Miami, appearing in only 41 total games over three seasons. The main motivation for the Heat dealing him along with the pick was likely the small trade exception.
Analysis: Pittman's a big body at 6-11 and 285 pounds but has never materialized into anything more than that. He's a raw player who hasn't found a way to really contribute. The Grizzlies have a little extra room in their frontcourt for depth security and probably don't mind trying him out to develop behind Marc Gasol. Pittman, though, is slotted to become a restricted free agent this summer. Pittman, 24, holds career averages of 2.8 points and 2.0 rebounds. He has minimal Fantasy value even after this move.

Pittman headed back to D-League

News: The Heat assigned center Dexter Pittman to the Sioux Falls Sky Force of the NBA Development League, the team announced Monday.
Analysis: Pittman has been sent down four times this season, but that number will likely increase before the year is over. At this point in the year, Pittman should be avoided in all formats whether he is in the NBA or D-League.

Heat bring back Pittman

News: The Heat announced Wednesday that center Dexter Pittman has been recalled from the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League. He was re-assigned to the Heat’s D-League affiliate for his third stint on February 3. He was originally assigned to Sioux Falls on December 26 and recalled on January 17 before being re-assigned on January 18 and recalled on January 20.
Analysis: Pittman has played in just four games this year for Miami and has averaged just 3.0 minutes per game. He has almost zero Fantasy value in all formats. Ignore him until he proves otherwise.

Pittman ends brief stay with Heat

News: Miami assigned center Dexter Pittman to the NBA Development League on Friday after he spent just one game with the Heat. Pittman was promoted as insurance for Thursday's game against the Lakers, but did not take the court in Miami's victory.
Analysis: Pittman has appeared in only four total games this season and posted a lowly total of 3.0 minutes per game. The 24-year-old is often attached to the bench when he is with the Heat and should not be considered a worthwhile Fantasy option at this point.

News: Miami center Dexter Pittman will join the Heat from the D-League on Thursday, reports USA Today. Pittman was assigned to the D-League in late December.

Pittman assigned to D-League

News: The Heat assigned center Dexter Pittman to the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development league the team announced Wednesday. Pittman averaged just 1.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in four games with Miami this season.
Analysis: Pittman will get a chance to play everyday down in the D-League instead of sit on the bench like he has been. While the Heat continue to and develop Pittman into a worthwhile backup center, he has absolutely no Fantasy value at this time. Continue to ignore the 24-year-old in all formats.

Pittman scores two in garbage time

News: Heat center Dexter Pittman checked in late during Thursday's contest against the Mavericks with the game already out of hand. Pittman entered the game with nearly three minutes remaining as he scored two points and snatched two rebounds on 1 of 2 shooting from the field in a 110-95 victory.
Analysis: Pittman made just his third appearance of the season Thursday and has scored six points on 3 of 5 shooting form the field in just 10 minutes of game action. He is on the back-end of Miami's rotation. As a result, he barely sees the court and should be ignored in all formats moving forward.

Pittman makes first season appearance

News: Heat center Dexter Pittman made his first appearance of the season during Saturday's contest against the Nets. He checked in and played the final minute of the contest. With a double-digit lead and the game out of hand, he was not asked to do much and finished with no points or rebounds in a 102-89 victory. Pittman had been battling a lingering hamstring injury.
Analysis: Pittman may have been healthy enough to play, but is on the back-end of the team's rotation. As a result, he has barely made his way into the court this season. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore him in all formats moving forward.

News: Heat center Dexter Pittman remained inactive for Wednesday’s game against the Clippers, as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. He has yet to be active for a game this season.

Still no Pittman for Heat

News: Heat center Dexter Pittman was ruled inactive for Monday's contest against the Heat as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. Pittman has yet to make the active roster this season.

Pittman sits again

News: Heat center Dexter Pittman missed his third straight game to start the season Saturday against the Nuggets. He remains day to day with a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Pittman suffered the injury in practice earlier in the week, and has been unable to take the floor as a result. Even when healthy, Pittman has a minute role on a Heat team that is emphasizing speed and floor spacing. He is unworthy of owning in any Fantasy formats.

Analysis: Pittman had combined for 16 minutes in his two previous games and is averaging just 7.3 minutes per game on the year.
